Can smell gas inside the car; mechanics advise me that 3 of the 4 injectors are leaking.they advise replacement.i notice (from the consumer complaints) that this is a common problem (at least 4 people complained about it!).considering that engine could catch fire if the problem is not fixed, i am wondering what the manufacturer is doing to fix this dangerous (and expensive) problem?going through nissan's own "consumer discussion thread"i notice that for some people, fule-injector leak is a recurring problem, which leads me to believe that this is a design issue!
I noticed a gas smell some time ago and did not think much of it. It was noticable when the car was parked in the garage, however other gas powered equipment was there which could have emitted an odor. Things got progressively worse as i began to smell gas while driving the car. Fumes apparently began leaking into the car interior. Fuel injectors should not leak if designed properly.this type of failure can cause fire and death to people in and around the vehicle.there should be no tolerence for this type of defect.if car manufacturers such as nissan stood behind their product then they would be quick to remedy this situation before it caused lives to be lost.
Several weeks ago my mechanic asked if i smelled gas at any time, he looked and saw that my fuel injectors were leaking. The estimated repair cost is $600.00. I went looking on the internet to get information on fuel injectors to see if you can repair them rather than replace them. Well i came across a recall notice about some nissan models that had the same problem that i am having with my vehicle. I contacted nissan and the said that there was nothing they could do because my vehicle was not apart of their campaign. They suggested that i contact your office to file a complaint, i would like for some one to look into this matter. I have a friend who has the same exact model that i have, that caught fire two months ago. I have not contacted the individual to get the details of its cause, but will provide that information at a later date. Please advise on what steps to take next. Thank you luther bell

Fuel injector(s) are leaking raw fuel.the manufacturer presently has a recall campaignto replace leaking fuel injectors on variousmakes & models up to 1988 model year.it seems to me to be a similar problem to which i am experiencing on my vehicle. However, the manufacturer'srep.i spoke to at the recall campaign telephone number stating my vehicle was not part of the present campaign; i wouldhave towait & hopefor a possible future recall campaign on my vehicle.i am worried that condition may become worse until such time and pose a potential fire hazard.i am extremely concerned about this since vehicle is parked within an attached garage directly under my children's bedroom.
The fuel injectors on my 1991 nissan stanza were leaking into the engine compartment.the problem started when i was smelling strong gasoline fumes inside the car. After an inspection of the engine compartment, the gasoline smell was strongestnear the fuel injector ports. Not wanting to risk an engine fire and breathingof gasoline fumes - and to avoid danger, i took the car to an automobile repair shop which confirmed my fears. I was so terrified that the car would catch on fire, i would lose the car and cause harm to myself or others.

Two fuel injectors developed external fuel leaks at different times (about 2 years apart).
Fuel injectors are leaking gas from the injector seals.my brother owns a geo prizm with a toyota motor in it with almost 300,000 miles on it and has never had this problem ever.my nissan stanza only has 133,000 on it and i have seen complaints on web forums about 240sx with same ka24e sohc motor having the same problems with less mileage on them. They switched to the ka24de dohc engine in later year stanza's.i think they also did so on the 240sx too, but not sure which years this happened. I know the stanza used ka24e motor from 1990 to 1992 production years and then switched to the ka24de after which could possibly have different injector setup then the ka24e which is what i have.
