I was coming to a complete stop and the breaks did not stop the car forcing me to hit someone. I always had trouble with the breaks with forced me to change them every so often. This time was tough.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra. While parked, the contact noticed that the tire pressure warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician was able to shut the tire pressure warning light off but the failure continued. Additionally, the air bag warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 79,000.

Air bag light flashes on dash won't go off. This should be a safety issue... Over 10 in the last year alone reported same problem

Having issues with my passenger seat occupancy sensor. The only correction the dealer issued was to replace the seat with a new or used seat. A new seat would be over $3,000 and a used one well over $700 plus labor to change seat covers. Error code b1018. The vehicle is beyond warranty however, because this is an obvious safety issue regarding faulty hardware, i feel nissan should graciously address this without charge. There are airbag recall campaigns open for other nissan models regarding this very issue but it unfortunately does not include my 2008 nissan sentra. The recall obviously needs to be expanded! at this point i may be forced to acquire a used seat at a local junk yard, but it would be impossible to verify the sensor is working in the used seat prior to installation. Again, this is an obvious safety issue and should be addressed promptly. Thank you for your time!

This is the third transmission on the vehicle, last one was one year ago. The airbags sensor came on all of sudden for no reason and they wanted to charge me a bunch of money just to check it (not to repair it, just look at it first). After they changed out the transmission it magically fixed it self? the tire sensor is displaying that it's faulty / not working properly.

The driver of a 2008 nissan sentra was stationary in a level parking lot. When shifting the vehicle from drive to park, the passenger side curtain air bag and passenger seat air bag deployed. The only occupant in the vehicle was the driver and no injuries were sustained. The vehicle was not involved in a collision and no signs of damage visible to the exterior of the vehicle. Currently, nissan does not have a recall for air bags deploying without collision but has issued voluntary service campaign id # pm952 that addresses side curtain air bags that may be incorrectly positioned during vehicle assembly. The vehicle is currently at a local nissan dealer pending service work and nissan usa has been contacted by the driver to file a safety complaint. The failure occurred at approximately 67,000 miles.

August 13, 2014 i took my nissan to dealer because of air bag light on passenger side flashing. It started while driving.i was informed it was caused by right front seat belt pretensioner failure, they replaced the right front seat belt assy. Under a warranty.october 20, 2014 took back to dealer due to air bag light again flashing. Informed it was cost $975 to install a new censor.i declined work because of price.to date, 5/2/16, the light continues to flash.i also have a flashing light on my dash for a tire censor.i was told it would cost $135 to find which tire or if it was a main censor that was causing this.i declined to have it diagnosed due to the cost -$135 to find it then another cost to fix it.this has been flashing for almost two years.car was in motion when the flashing started.

Air bag safety issue.on october 14, 2015 i took my car in for service at mcgrath nissan because the "cs air bag light is flashing" more spiciflythe code readout was b1134 for sensor for air bag front left side. Their diagnosis was that the entire [and very expensive at $3000] air bag module must be replaced. Nissan is uncertainwhether the air bags will work or not in a front left side crash.the part was ordered and was expected to become available before end of 2015. The part was 87651ze90b frame assy-frontsea and i put down a 50% deposit on the part. It is now may 30, 2016. Numerous calls to the dealership, who followed up with nissan, occurred. The answers varried. In some of the calls statements where made that nissan was having supplier issues. In other calls i was given a new date for arrival of the part, and part has not yet arrived. In my last call mcgrath nissan was told by nissan that the part should arrive in april. It is now late may and still no part.in june 2016 i am required to take my car to emissions testing (suburb of chicago, il) and i am anticipating failing because of this part.

Air bag started flashing and has not stopped.i noticed there are several complaints regarding the airbags in this type of vehicle and i am waiting to see that this is investigated and help with a recall due to the cost of attempting to fix this when it could well be a factory defect.i also had to repair the transmission a year and a half ago when while on the freeway started having issues ending in the nissan dealer in utah short of $3500 later after they determined it has to be replaced because of a malfunction due to a cooling system problem, which needed a cooling device of some sort in order to prevent it from overheating, which is exactly what happened to my car.

My air bag light randomly came on, and won't go off.

I was driving and hit a spot of ice and had gone off the road taking out two signs and head on into a tree. I was severely injured and taken to the trauma unit at the hospital. The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra. While driving 20 mph in foggy weather conditions, he crashed into an embankment. The vehicle was completely destroyed and the air bags failed to deploy. The seat belt also constricted his ability to move and eventually he was able to open the seat belt. The contact suffered internal bruising. The cause of the failures were unknown. The failure and current mileages were 16,000.updated 10/26/09. *ljapproximately 30 seconds after the impact, the air bags deployed; simultaneously the seat belt began to tighten. The seat belt did not stop tightening until it broke. It broke from the floor exposing a long cable and other wires. The buckle was still attached. The seat belt caused deep internal bruising. Updated 10/26/09.

Airbag light started randomly blinking when i started the car.i brought it to the dealer, they said "faulty clock spring and drivers airbag assy - replace (b1049 drivers airbag open)".the cost was $1,468.32 no including tax, etc and said it was unusual for both pieces to be faulty.

Airbag blinking on dashboard due to passenger side seat airbag sensor malfunction and/or failure.my wife has purchased the vehicle used, and we happened to have accident hit by other car on the driver side door while i had been trying to get back home on the weekend after grocery shopping trip with my whole family at 02/05/2017. It happened at the service road of sh 121 tx. While i was turning left on the straight/left lane on green light.after the accident, none of the airbags were deployed but somehow the airbag light started blinking on the dash board, of course we took it to the repair shop and the service adviser has explained that airbag sensor on passenger seat was malfunctioning and they would have it fixed. So we thought we got it fixed, and drove it around for a few months. And somewhere around june, the airbag light on dash board came again and we've tried to summit the supplement for the airbag issue, and had it diagnosed by autonation nissan at lewisville tx and the insurance company denied the supplement request because the autonation nissan has stated that "airbag malfunctioning on nissan sentra is a common problem" and for that reason the supplement was denied, and it got me thinking that if it's the common problem as the service adviser of the nissan stated, then why won't nissan issue recall order for such an critical issue that may cause catastrophic event if it keeps malfunctioning? i would like nhtsa to have proper investigation on this matter... Because if the airbag sensor malfunction is not related to the accident i had, then nissan is not caring about the lives of people who drives the same model vehicle as my sentra...

Airbag lights flashing so airbag wont work if there is an accedent need to see if there was a recall anytime

I was in an accident, and air bag failed to deploy.brakes may have not been repaired to full functional capacity from the dealership when serviced which resulted in not braking in time and loss of control of vehicle. I looked up the vehicle on a nissan recall website and found out that it's one of the ones on the recall list.

The air bag check light began blinking for no reason at all just before the car hit 60,000 miles.it continues to blink and i now have to pay the dealership $75 to determine why it is blinking.to me this is a manufacturer issue given there was no incident that triggered this event.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra.the contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact was then making a right turn and slightly crashed into a curb. Takata recall. My warning light for the airbag was on so i took it to a dealer and the reset the code but after a few days the light came on again. Now it is on all the time when i am driving it. I am wondering if it was manufactured in 2007 and could be on the recall list.

Front passenger side airbag has turned off and air bag light is flashing on the instrument panel.lancaster nissan says it will not deploy in a crash.the dealer says the sensors in the seat and/or the seat is bent and won't bolt to the floor of my car. The dealer replaced the seat twice. The new seat didn't solve anything -- the air bag light is still flashing on my dash to this day.nissan said that i needed a $675.00 computer chip but could not say with certainty that this would fix the problem.at this time, lancaster nissan stated that "nissan was done with me."this is clearly a safety issue that nissan has refused to fix.they have failed to stay behind their product -- i do not have passengers ride in the front passenger seat due to this problem and i cannot re-sell the car in this condition.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra. While driving approximately 50 mph, the contact's vehicle struck a deer. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was diagnoised a third time for an electrical failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 112,000.

Air bag light remains on and blinking continously.the horn also stopped working. Feels very unsafe driving without a horn. Since both the airbag and horn are in the steering wheel and reading through several other similar complaints i would assume they are related. Should be recalled as many other nissans have been recalled with the same issue.

Air bag light has come on for no apparent reason.steering wheel controls, including radio and cruise control no longer work and haven't for some time now.the "wheels" or "hubcaps" peeled off and look terrible.when driving over 60 mph the car shakes.one owner- 142,000 miles

The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

Driver airbag has come on and will not turn off.bag has never deployed but i'm afraid it won't if i get into an accident.dealership wants to charge me about $800 to diagnose and repair if i agree.

My 2008 nissan sentra air bag light came on in the past and i had it reset by the dealer.it stayed out for a long period of time.later when it came on again, i learned how to reset it myself using the ignition key and i did so with success.the light would stay out for at first a month or two, then it became a week or two, but now the light comes on and my resetting it will only last for less than a day.so i took the car to the dealer this week.the dealer advised me that it is a faulty air bag.the dealer did a diagnosis/inspection and found code 81134.the dealer advised me to replace the left side seat assembly and that it would cost me approximately $3,400 to do so.is this possible for a 2008 nissan with only 56,000 miles on it?the air bags for this model are not on the recall list, but i'm questioning if they should be.

Airbag light flashes constantly on dash panel. Came on while driving and will not go out. Has been reset but comes back on after driving within short distance. Car has not been wrecked in front and i am original owner. Concerned for our safety as we are afraid airbag may not deploy in case of an accident. We do not believe safety equipment should fail so quickly. Also see online where many other owners are experienceing same problem.would like to see a recall to fix this safety issue. Thank you.

Takata recall my airbag light is flashing and when it was diagnosed at patpeck nissan of mobile they told me my car wasnt part of the recall but it is the passenger air bag light and was told it will not deploy in a crash.

Airbag light flashing, then horn didn't work; now the cruise control is not working. I see several similar problems noted in the database. Several close calls without the horn.

As slowing down at intersection the passenger air bags unexpectedly deployedthe side and seat onesbut not the front one.

I was operating my vehicle on riverside drive in studio city, california when the vehicle shook abruptly followed a few seconds later with a loud explosion.debris and oil sprayed onto my hood and i had to nearly avoid an accident as my car was completely out of control.i was able to turn the wheel slightly and pull to the side.it was at this point the vehicle caught fire under the hood and i immediately got out of the vehicle.my father who was following me ran to the nearest gas station in an attempt to calm the flames while i called 911.the vehicle was still on fire when the fire department arrived.eventually they were able to put the flames out and open the hood.under the hood you can see a fire starting from the electrical and battery area leading to the engine.the car was deemed a total loss a few days later by my insurance.it appeared the battery overheated.

My air bag light will not go off it was idle when it came in but it is constantly blinking , the horn completely stopped working the first time when i was turning the corner, i generally replaced it twice but it stopped working again, and again, and as i was sitting idle my check engine light came on even after i have been keeping the maintenance up on it.

I pulled out of my driveway in june 2014 and the car stalled at about 15 miles per hour while i was driving and the engine light came on. I drive a nissan sentra 2008 that i brought in november 2011 with 32,000 miles on it. I took the car to a nissan dealership and they stated that it was the camshaft sensor that needed to be replaced and it would cost $500. I had already replace the air sensor in 2013 for $400 at the same dealership when the car had 52,000 miles because the engine light was coming on. I contacted nissan customer service to explore why at 72,000 miles the car needs the camshaft sensor replace and was this a common occurrence. They did not help; had limited answers and stated that they will contact the dealership in 3 to 5 business days regarding financial assistance and explanation. I decided to get the camshaft sensor replaced somewhere else. However, today the car stalled again and now the engine light is on again. I am returning the car to the mechanic that replaced the camshaft sensor. However, i belief there are more electrical/engine problems with the nissan sentra 2008 besides the camshaft sensor that the company is not being forthcoming about and this can put my life and others on the road in danger. Please investigate nissan because they already did a recall on the nissan altima from 2006 to 2012 for the same part. Thank you.

This is the second transmission that has been replaced on the vehicle and it only has 56,354 miles on it. It's not being abused in any way, i only got this vehicles because it's economic on gas and i only drive it about 5-15 miles a day during the week. My fear is that, my luck, the transmission will go out again when i'm outside the power train warranty period and i'm screwed. Now i'm debating whether i take a loss and sell it way below what i paid for and get another vehicle that's not a nissan. I have also been having issues with the tire sensor, which i keep hearing is a problem with this vehicle and the dealer refused to fix it under warranty, they want $200 to fix it. I have also had a weird vibration coming from the front of the vehicle which i'm told is cause by a "hood latch" and they keep adjusting it every couple of months instead of fixing it permanently.

Tire pressure gauge has been serviced numerous times since purchase.nissan can't seem to fix it.nissan worked on warning light serviced june 20, 2012, june 28, 2012, june 30, 2012, and light came on again evening of june 30, 2012, the same day it was worked on. Once a week i take my90-year-old neighbor out.june 28, 2012, we were out and it was 100 degrees outside and due to the safety light i had to get to somewhere to service the tire pressure.she had to go with me to attend to the tire pressure problem (concern for heat stroke in 100 degree plus temperature).recent problem history:warning light on andaddressed in may by costco (who kindly assisted me and filled tires with nitrogen and told me if it happened again to go to nissan), one week later took to nissan, again in may to back to nissan.again nissan june 20, 20012; wal-mart june 28, 2012; nissan, june 29, 2012, nissan june 30, 2012, (4 times in june), and the light is still periodically coming on.this issue needs to be addressed for my safety, for my neighbor's safety (having to get somewhere to get the warning light off, and since i bought the car in 2008 this has been an ongoing issue.i am requesting assistance from your office on this matter.i need to discuss this problem with someone from your office.

I went to purchase a vehicle & the mileage read 87,026. When i did a carfax check the last mileage documented was 125,615. It looks like the owner may have rolled back the miles. Who can i report this to?

Vehicle was parked in parking lot.steering wheel was locked and wheels were straight.car was attempted to start more then 10 times.a flashing reg car with a key icon light was active on the dash.according to the owners manual the ignition system was locked out and had to be reset by the dealer.car was towed to the repairing dealer.dealer said key and internal chip were bad and had to be replaced.took tech 30 minutes just to get steering unlocked.new keys were made and car still did not start.dealer said body control module (bcm) had to be replaced as it was blown, even though other systems controlled by bcm were operational.repair was 1,200.filed a complaint with nissan and their customer relations department said it was not a common part that had to be replaced.

I just picked my daughter up from her bus stop when i was leaving her bus stop to take the vehicle back to harbor nissan when i heard a loud bang and under the hood started smoking and caused a fire (i had only had the car for 8 days)because i had been having exhaust issues as well with the all my dash lights flickering and stalling while in motion on 2 highways on 2 seperate occasions.

Driving over an hour and the car starts to struggle, i can feel it loosing power, in order to not press down all the way, i'm doing a give n go praying i dont stop on the freeway. I would sometimes feel jumping and that i'm not in full control and it has stopped on me in a 15minute drive. I have gotten, a diagnostic, 1time it had 4different transmission codes and another a fuel code. Not sure what's going on, this started around the 60,000 mile i'm at 90,000 now, so ya, it's been rough.

I was coming to a complete stop and the breaks did not stop the car forcing me to hit someone. I always had trouble with the breaks with forced me to change them every so often. This time was tough.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra. While driving 65 mph, the rpms increased and the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to be coasted to the side of the road. The contact powered off the engine. Once restarted, the vehicle was able to drive normally. The failure recurred three times. The contact called alan jay nissan at (863) 402-4280 (located at 1700 flare rd, sebring, fl 33872) where an appointment was scheduled. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34,481.

When purchasing my used vehicle from el monte toyota, notice sensor for tire on, was told be fixed, months later learn rim missing sensor. Light in car also don't work. Driving car immediately was stalling out shutting off when idol. Took car back week later since within 30 day warranty spoke to customer service on recorded call and she didn't thoroughly document conversation.upon waiting four hours next week, tech drove the car never do a diagnostic.after warranty expired car regularly shut off triggering transmission codes. Out of pocket i paid for transmission flush twice, throttle body replacement, brakes, learning there was transmission recall 2010. Falling behind in payments due.to excessive repair expenses took car to fix at nissan to get a list more of defects i couldn't afford. I filed a claim with toyota and was denied by the manager. Had they ran the diagnostic when i brought it in all be avoided.however was advised dealership's are aware of recalls and sold me the car anyway? and refused to fix when i returned and dismissed a claim die to their negligence. Never buy a car from that dealership and will let anyone looking know of my costly experience. Expect that from a car lot not a reputation like toyota.

When my car was coming to a stop, my knee hit the ignition key. The engine turned off though the car gear selector was in "d". The steering also was locked. Fortunately i wasstopping the car at the signal. If this happened on the freeway, my family would have been at risk. I understand there was recalls related to this type of situation but nissan never got in touch with me nor there is no recall. This is very dangerous and nissan needs to do a recall to save the car driver and passengers.

Check engine light. Mechanic diagnosis is defective catalytic converter sensors.

It started with a small clunk noise that will go away after a while of driving the car, six months later the clunking noise doesn't stop, move from regular oil to full synthetic oil, new spark plugs, but nothing seems to work, now the noise is so loud i am afraid the car may catch fire, but had no choice but drive it, my car has less than 100 k and i bought it newexpecting this car to last way longer than this, is not fair or this to happen specially with nissan knowing the problem they had with putting smaller pistons that will eventually break, please do something about it!!!!!

I was driving my 2008 nissan sentra and the car would shake out if no where next thing you know it didn't want to accelerate any more it's just stopped and i was driving on a high way

On june 20, 2016, i took my car into a nissan certified dealership to have the transmission redone under the extended warranty that nissan did for the cvt engine. The car drove fine and then in the beginning of august 2019 just 3 yrs later and 40,00 miles on the new transmission, the transmission is messing up again and we are told that we have to replace the transmission for the second time at our cost. After doing some research i found out that there was a service bulletin sent out to the technician on august 15, 2014 stating that a 2007-2012 sentra will need a transmission cooler added to the cvt to prevent it from overheating. The nissan dealership did not put that on our car when we had our transmission redone under their extended warranty in 2016, and now because of their lack of responsibility our transmission is out, and nissan is not wanting to make it right.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra. While driving unknown speeds, the brake pedal was applied and the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact called orr nissan (3131 e beebe capps expy, searcy, ar 72143, (501) 268-5333) and was informed that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 153,000.

I was driving and hit a spot of ice and had gone off the road taking out two signs and head on into a tree. I was severely injured and taken to the trauma unit at the hospital. I had a broken femur, shattered knee, broken ankle, broken foot, lacerated liver, punctured lung and broken ribs.my air bag never deployed.

Thank you.

The driver air bag flashing red light when i was driving and never going off also the horn doesn't work.also the engine burn a lot oil and i don't see any leaks

Slowing approaching stops engine would cut off, it has happened a number of times.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra. The contact stated that while driving 5 mph, the vehicle came to a complete stop and was unable to accelerate. The contact mentioned that the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the cam shaft sensor needed to be replaced. On another occasion, the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who stated that the engine and transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 54,000 and the current mileage was 55,000.

At 700 miles, car wouldn't start.had towed to dealership-car started-couldn't find a problem.at 1700 miles, car wouldn't start-had towed--couldn't find any problem. 9/15/08 (2480 miles) car stalled in traffic, wouldn't start.police pushed me to a safe area--had car towed to dealership-no response yet.i feel very unsafe, not knowing when i'm going to be randomly left on some street corner waiting for a tow truck.am planninga trip out of state--do i dare?i don't think so.

While driving vehicle engine lost power and vehicle slowed. When an attempt was made to determine the cause of the power loss heavy black smoke and flames were observed from the engine compartment. Vehicle became fully involved within 3 minutes. Local fire department responded to extingush fire. Cause undertermined. Fires point of origin was in the area of the ecm/brake master cylinder. Well maintained vehicle, no fluid leaks, mechanical issues or warning lights prior to incident.

Engine knock, my car has a piston slapping around in the engine.i was told by dealer "sims nissan in warren, ohio" to drive my car with the bad engine until they get a new engine which would be around 3-5 days to receive.they would then get me a rental car while they put the engine in.i informed the owner ken sims that this vehicle is unsafe to drive and he told me nothing would happen if i did not run the engine at high rpm's that would then cause the piston to go threw the engine.i once again told him this is unsafe and if he was so confident that nothing was going to happen to put it in writing. I was then told that he would have a huge lawsuit on his hands if something happened and now knowing if i run it at high rpms and the engine blows then i am responsible.i told him again the car was unsafe and he told me that i would be fine.tired or arguing, i drove the car home from dealer going 20mph with 4 ways so i would not run the engine at high rpm's.the car is setting in my driveway, afraid to drive since dealer refused to give me another loaner or pay for a rental.so, i am out.dealer has terrible customer service, and i feel as i am not being treated fairly, was degraded like i did not know what i was talking about, had to drive an unsafe vehicle on the road where the engine could have gone out of control and harmed me and others on the road.and to think they want me to continue to drive this until a new engine comes in.i have more common sense and will not put myself or others at risk driving this vehicle.the vehicle also has a recall for the master cylinder having a crack.dealer has not even talked about fixing that, and i have not received a recall notice on this yet either,it was posed in july.this is now october.

While driving to florida from dc for vacation, the engine started making a rattling noise.since we were on a trip, i figured i would top off the engine oil just in case.the engine was bone dry.the noise seemed to go away after adding oil at first, but then the noise became louder, and the engine light came on.we took the car to the nearest dealer we could find.when they lifted the hood at the dealer, the oil had exploded and was everywhere.we were toldthere was catastrophic engine failure in my 2008 sentra, but they could not determine the exact cause.since i did not have my maintenance records with me (i was on vacation), they refused to even contact nissan warranty without proof of all oil changes.they claimed the engine failed due to lack of oil changes.i could not afford a factory engine, so the purchase of a used 2008 sentra engine voided my extended warranty.at the time of failure, the car had a little over 35k miles.further research online indicates a possible oil consumption issue, which the dealership denies.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra.the contact stated that the check engine light was illuminated on the instrument panel and gasoline fumes were emitted on the inside of the vehicle.the dealer diagnosed that the catalytic converter was defective and would need to be replaced.the vehicle was in the process of being repaired.the manufacturer denied any assistance with repairs to the vehicle.the failure mileage was 90,000 and the current mileage was 91,000.

The air compressor on my 2008 nissan sentra went out. Why there's not a recall???

At 50,000 miles, i had a catastrophic engine failure with my 2008 nissan sentra 2.0.when i pulled into the gas station, my car had no coolant and no oil at all.the oil pressure light did not illuminate and the coolant gauge appeared normal.the dealership cannot tell me why the warning lights did not illuminate when fluids became low.i service my car regularly.my car gave no indication of any problems.dealership states that there is no evidence of leakage.nissan is stating that it is due to lack of service - my point is the warning lights did not illuminate at all which resulted in engine failure.if i had been on the highway this could have resulted in significant injury, fire, etc.

My check engine light came on in my car about the same time as we noticed a ticking noise coming from the engine.i took my car to the dealership the next morning to have it looked at.i was told i would need a new engine because oil sludge built up in my engine.they wanted $6300.i had 20k miles on my car.the warranty wouldn't cover it because i had my oil changes done by family and i didn't have the receipts for my oil filters and the oil we bought.i have checked different sources online and this seems to be a problem with 2008 nissan sentra's, but the warranty department denies it.i asked them if they would at least take some fault since i couldn't find receipts (even if the oil was never changed, an engine in a brand new car should not be sludged after 20k miles of it), but they would not do anything.they wouldn't discount the cost to me at all.i had to pay the full price out of pocket.i bought the engine and had it done elsewhere, because obviously nissan is not very trustworthy.as i called around to get quotes on the cost to have an engine installed just about every mechanic i spoke with said that's crazy to need a new engine after 20k even if the oil was never changed.

2005 sentra 1.8 s. Heater would be hot then cold, have replaced thermostat 5 times. Car never overheated. Gauge would go just under 3/4 of way and then suddenly drop to normal. 69,000 miles, check engine light came on, reading multiple misfires. Bringing to dealer for fuel tank recall.running very rough, rpms 2000 before vehicle will move max out at 5000. As soon as you remove foot from gas, suddenly drops to almost 0 rpms.dealer said blown head gasket, oil pan gasket bad.had to have head in machine shop due to 2 plugs stuck.when i picked up vehicle, mechanic said head was warped.i asked what i needed to watch for being that it never did overheat. The response was, with this gauge goes just over half, it is overheating.ended up costing 2,000.00 for a 3 yr 4month old vehicle that never overheated.

The exhaust muffler flange failed.it was severely rusted, while the exhaust pipe and muffler were in great shape.the flange appears to be made of steel while the rest of the exhaust appears to be stainless steel and not affected by the winter weather in western ny state.the car was 5 months out of warranty.

Consumer states that their 2008 nissan sentrais not getting the gas mileage as stated in the advertisements. *njthe consumer stated from the time he drove the vehicle off the lot, he has never received more than 16-18 miles per gallon and he is presently getting 15 mpg. He was under the impression that the vehicle would get 25 mpg in city driving and 33 mpg highway driving on average.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra. The contact stated that the fuel tank would not hold more than two gallons at a time before clicking off and refusing to accept more fuel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on three separate occasions. The fuel tank was replaced on the first occasion and the fuel lines were cleaned on the second occasion. The dealer offered no assistance on the third occasion. The manufacturer was notified and also offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

I currently own a 2008 nissan sentra.i have noticed that the rear of my car seems to slide out during winter weather.my tires also seem to wear quicker and my gas mileage is way below the mileage i should be getting.i had the alignment done twice when i first got the car back in 2008 but nothing changed and i just gave up.recently i have read that many people have this issue but unfortunately my car is out of warranty.

2008 nissan sentra. Consumer writes in regards to problem with tank not accepting fuel.*tgwthe consumer stated the fuel tank was replaced under warranty in april 2011. The problem resurfaced again in august 2011 where the tank would not take more than two gallons of gas. The dealer cleaned out the vent fuel line and replaced the fuel tank.

No accident.

Backing out of a driveway my axel and ball joint. The control arm disconnected from my transmission.this caused damage to the side paneling in front my tire.the car wouldn't move even when put in neutral. When i go in reverse before this happened my car would putter and then die. The car will not reverse unless i put the car in neutral and roll out from where i am.

Transmition is not responding. When is hot loses all the power to 30mph.a whying noise

Starts to slow down at highway speeds after driving for one hour

This is the third transmission on the vehicle, last one was one year ago. The airbags sensor came on all of sudden for no reason and they wanted to charge me a bunch of money just to check it (not to repair it, just look at it first). After they changed out the transmission it magically fixed it self? the tire sensor is displaying that it's faulty / not working properly.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, there was an abnormal noise coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle failed to move forward. The contact mentioned that the transmission failed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

Bad transmission

I have recently had problems with my 2008 nissan sentra. Was told my rear tires are cupping and that my tire warranty that i paid extra for is void because it is an issue with the rear suspension of the actual car that is causing the car not to ride properly. I only put 19,000 miles on these new tires. Was told if i replace the tires this will just happen again & again.nissan inspected the car and said the rear member is not damaged or bent but the car is out of alignment.they also said that these car were built so that the rear is fixed & cannot be aligned only the front can be aligned. Their suggestion is to add shims to the rear to help the car to ride better & be more in alignment and that should help the problem it is creating with the rear tires cupping. When i purchased my car they convinced me to also purchased a rather expensive extended warranty that was said to cover almost everything. Now i am told the warranty does not cover this ( because it is an add on part, not a replacement part) and that i am expected to pay for this. First of all this sounds like a bandaid fix to a problem nissan should be addressing if this part of the vehicle is faulty. I have not had any damage or accident to the rear of my car that would cause this. It clearly is some sort of defect. Not sure why they would make a car that cannot be aligned in back. Now they are telling me that although it shows no obvious damage, maybe i hit a pothole that caused it to go out of alignment. This is ridiculous! i think they are grasping at straws to make excused for their vehicles defect. Even if i did hit a pothole...if the car was built & manufactured properly, a pothole should not throw the entire fixed rear alignment out of wack enough to ruin new tires.if this is how they make cars then i don't plan on buying my next car with nissan. Sorry nissan but you just lost a good customer!

This is the third transmission installed on this vehicle.after 67,672 miles the first one broke down where the car had to be towed 95 miles to the nissan dealer. The second one broke down at 68,845, only 2 weeks after getting it back, 173 miles. Nissan extended their warranty on this cvt transmission, because of the problems, from 5 years 60,000 miles to 10 years 120,000 miles.since the transmission broke down at 7,672 miles from the initial warranty, the bbb advised the lemon law cannot be applied since it is after the initial warranty 5 years 60,000 miles even though it was extended.nissan being aware of this will not buy back the vehicle but just keeps replacing the transmissions until 10 years 120,00 miles.the cvt transmissions on this car keeps burning up where they no longer work.it is very unsafe and unreliable to take on any long trips. They are aware of this problem and just keep replacing it with rebuilt transmissions.

On vacation left roanoke, va headed to gatlinburg, tn on the interstate just before getting off at the tn exit the transmission starts slipping, then stops working completely. Contacted the local tn nissan dealership.car was under warranty, all servicing documentation was provided supporting the transmission warranty.(you must have it serviced at some set number of miles or the warranty is void on the transmission.)we were advised the transmission would have to be replaced with a brand new transmission.the nissan dealership was unable to give us a rental, as they were already all out, for some event.we had to find our own way for vacation and getting home. (thankfully we had some friends that were traveling with us.6 people in one car plus luggage!) went back got the car. Now this year we again leave for vacation and now we have an issue, cvt is going into limp mode is what i have heard it called. Car will not go over 55 mph. Contact the dealership when we returned. 3 weeks later a call and we are told they know about this issue in these models but they have no way to fix this issue even though its a new transmission, fluid changes help he says, and these cars don't like when there are 4 persons in the car.really a brand new transmission and it has a problem they knew about but was still installed, as a warranty replacement. Broken transmission replaced with a known bad transmission?

When my car was coming to a stop, my knee hit the ignition key. The engine turned off though the car gear selector was in "d". The steering also was locked. Fortunately i wasstopping the car at the signal. If this happened on the freeway, my family would have been at risk. I understand there was recalls related to this type of situation but nissan never got in touch with me nor there is no recall. This is very dangerous and nissan needs to do a recall to save the car driver and passengers.

The vehicle was in motion coming off the highway and onto city street. The torque converter gave out and the vehicle began sputtering at stop signs and light, and then thrusting forward jolting toward traffic. I nearly had two other vehicles rear end me during sputtering, and i nearly hit a vehicle in front of me when the car thrust forward violently. I turned in to the nearest automotive repair shop who told me my torque converter blew and i was very lucky to have not been in an accident. I have owned this vehicle 82 days and now have to do an entire transmission rebuild, which after extensive research i have found this is very common with a cvt transmission. I feel like this is something nissan should address, as i endangered the lives of my children, myself, and other drivers/passengers on the road. The car has been regularly maintained and has only one previous owner. I did not even drive 2,000 miles before this incident occurred, and i fully believe these constant variable transmissions pose a threat to anyone operating a vehicle, and that this is grounds for a factory recall or at the least additional safety warnings. Thank you.

Takata recall. The transmission in my 2008 nissan sentra has never worked properly. It's a automatic andsometimes it dont want to shift gears when i get around 30 mph. Then i have to stop and put it in park and then put it in drive again and it will start working properly.also sometimes while i'm on the interstate going 65-80 mph the rpm will fluctuate from 2 to 3 1/2 rpms and then other times while going down a hill the rpms will stay above 2 but mostly 2 1/2 rpms until i get below 15 mph before it downshifts. The transmission in this car has never worked properly and all the fluid is good in it. It now has around 152,000 miles on it but the nissan company put a new transmission in it a few years ago so the actual transmission doesnt have that many miles on it at all. I've seen alot of complaints about this transmission for this car and i think nissan needs to do something about this before it ends up tearing more than the transmission out of it!

When stepping on the accelerator the car will not move, the engine revs up but the automatic transmission does not move the car. If you keep your foot on the accelerator in a couple of seconds, the car will slam into gear and move with a load bang.this is an intermittent problem, has occurred approx. 6 times in 30k miles.this can occur from first starting out or while driving if you let your foot off the accelerator and then go to accelerate it doesn't accelerate, it is like it is in neutral.

At 26k miles a very loud, grumbling, droning noise started coming from the vehicle's transmission. Apparent at 25mph. The cvt transaxle assembly was replaced by the dealer but the noise is still present . It is worse than before. The noise inside the passenger cabin is unbearable, deafening specially at higher speeds. It feels like the vehicle is stuck in low gear. It is very difficult tohear other cars outside as i have to increase the volume of my radio and open windows to try to mask the noise. Similar complaints have been filed with other nissan models using the same type of transaxle.

Tire monitoring system light came on and transmission went out.

2008 nissan sentra. Consumer states issues with nissan dealer regarding repairs *tgwthe consumer stated the first set of tires wore out at 25,000 miles.

Front seat cover retaining clips come free from seat frame, and cause cuts to occupants legs.

Front seats on 2008 nissan sentra move and rattle.i had a metal bracket that failed under the passenger seat repaired because nissan did not offer a replacement part.the entire seat base had to be replaced.nissan has a service bulletin on the issue.i'm concerned about the integrity of the seats in an accident.i've not had the seats repaired because the cost is beyond what i can afford at the moment.

With 12000 km on my 08 sentra was informed my rear tires needed to be replaced. After much fighting with my service manager, dealership manager, and dealership owner they agreed to inspect the components of the rear suspension and was informed that it was out of alignment, and they could not bring it to within spec. The fix was a total rear suspension replacement...i now have a front strut bearing gone and have been waiting 2 months for parts...with my front end alignment out because of this, and no word on part arrival.

Master cylinder is leaking and brake light is coming on

I was in an accident, and air bag failed to deploy.brakes may have not been repaired to full functional capacity from the dealership when serviced which resulted in not braking in time and loss of control of vehicle. I looked up the vehicle on a nissan recall website and found out that it's one of the ones on the recall list.

Master cylinder recall

I have noticed the my brake light came on. I added a brake fluid and the light went off. My mechanic has examined the car and determined that my brake master cylinder is leaking. After doing some research i noticed that my brake cylinder is under recall. I contacted nissan and they said that they inspected the brake cylinder few years ago and that it wasn't affected by the recall. The affected master brake cylinder is bosch, and the same brand is installed in my car. Two days later my brakes completely failed, just like the recall states may happen. Nissan refused to change the affect brake cylinder!!!!

I purchased the car drove it home with no problem.2 days after my purchase it drives very slow and won't pick up speed.

Petition for defect investigation and recall expansion for my 2007-2008 nissan sentra vehicles experiencing master brake cylinder leakage.a complaint was sent in to the north carolina consumers council, by a complainant.the complainant stated the master brake cylinder leak was due to a leaking rear seal resulting in a loss of brake fluid.it was also noted the vehicle had an original master brake cylinder that was never serviced. It was discovered the vehicle was slowly leaking brake fluid for several years with no external sign of a leak. Upon inspection, the vehicle had a significant quantity of brake fluid accumulated in the vacuum brake booster, located to and attached to the rear of the brake master cylinder. The condition was described in recalls 08v311000 and 09v431000.

2008 nissan sentra. S10 appropriate handling-letter to the secretary from regarding toyota braking problems *tgwthe consumer stated the brakes failed on his failed. When he attempted to apply the brake, the vehicle continued to accelerate. The next the day, the consumer went to the dealer and had thefront pads replaced and the rear pads cleaned. The consumer has not experienced a failure since.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra. The contact stated that while driving at very slow speeds, she attempted to engage the brakes and they vehicle failed to respond. Since she was driving in the direction of a building, she was only able to stop the vehicle by crashing into a handicap sign and shut the engine off. There were no injuries or damage to the vehicle. She attempted to drive the vehicle and it would not move forward. The "brake" warning light was illuminated on the dashboard. The dealer was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer has not been notified. The current mileage was approximately 5,200 and the failure mileage was approximately 5,100.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra. The contact stated that the vehicle would shake when she depressed the brake pedal. The failure progressed and she noticed that the problem occurred very often. The vehicle was taken to a tire center and the tire mechanic stated that the rotors were defective. The contact called the dealership who stated that the brake pads would be replaced when they were worn. The vehicle was not repaired when the complaint was filed. The contact had not spoken with the manufacturer. The current mileage was approximately 70,000. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra.while depressing the brake pedal at 5 mph, the contact could not stop the vehicle.it accelerated backwards and caused her to crash into another vehicle.there were no warning lights illuminated on the instrument control panel prior to the failure.the vehicle sustained minimal damage.she notified the dealer and is awaiting their response.a police report was filed.the vin was unknown.the failure mileage was 10,000.

I was not notified by mail of a recall on of my brakes master cylinder.i was told that nissan doesn't send recall notices by us mail anymore....only by email.what if i hadn't taken it in for an unrelated issue?my brakes could have failed at the worst possible time.

The week of dec 21 2008 i received a recall notice from nissan about a possible defect in my breaking system on my 2008 nissan sentra.i made an appointment for this to be handled on jan 5, 2009 at 9:20 am est.i was told to bring the vehicle in to correct this possible defect.i brought the car in to pittsburgh east nissan and was graded by dj, i gave him the vehicle recall notice paper and he told me to have a seat in the waiting room.at 10:30 am - dj, came over to me and told me we don't have the part in stock and they ordered it for me and i will be on the list to call me back to replace the part,i was like what?, i sat here for nothing and you did absolutely nothing to my car, dj told me that's the way nissan does it, i have to bring the car in and then they order the part, then i get called back in to replace the part..... This does not seem logical to me for a recall, i wasted my time (twice) because they don't want to have extra parts in stock????? help me change this policy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gas pedal too close to brake, toe hits accelerator when applying brake.happened several times before i realized why car was lurching when i hit the brake.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra.on november 3, 2008, while slowing down for a traffic light at 25 mph, the brake pedal extended to the floor when it was depressed.the driver crashed into the front driver's side of another vehicle.the driver received injuries to her left leg, arm, and lower back.a report was filed with the manufacturer.the insurance company stated that the vehicle was destroyed and is investigating the crash.the penbrook pine police report number was 2008-086387.the current and failure mileages were 16,000.

Per nissan recall 169.202, my 2008 sentra is equipped with robert bosch master cylinder.the master cylinder has been inspected and needs to be replaced.the dealer was contacted as soon as this information was made known to me, but the dealer refused to honor the recall.the dealer was not helpful.all information and the link to this form was supplied to me by firestone, not by the dealer.this recall and repair of the master cylinder should be honored.

My complaint is that nissan has recalled 2007 and 2008 sentras (recall # 08v311000) for master cylinder failure and i was never notified.this recall was effective july 23, 2008.i found the recall quite by accident.nissan has offered no explanation as to why i was not notified within 4 months of such a safety hazard.although i have not had an incident, it is my son driving the car from north carolina to ohio.

2008 nissan sentra, so far had to repair andreplace brake master cylinder 3 times already since purchased the vehicle.

I have had many trips to the dealer after purchasing a 08 sentra for problems with the tire pressure light as well as a popping in the wheels. I went to the dealer and they turned the pressure light off and said it was fine. It has happened more then 7 times. The tires were worn out by 30k miles i coudn't believe i had to replace them already. I aslo had the popping noise in the tires i took it to the dealer 4 times and they said nothing was wrong. I moved to a different state and took it for an oil change and they asked me if i had heard a noise in the tires. To my surprise i explained that i had heard it for a long time but the dealer told me it was nothing! the oil change place told me that the top strut mounts were seized causing the springs to bind. Now i would have had to pay over $1100 to replace them. I luckily have ext warranty that covers it for $50. I also have been told to replace brakes soon as well as the pressure valves in the tires. Is this all related to the dealers failure to diagnose the issue and now this has caused multiple issues at 30k miles?? or can this be a manufacturing issue with faulty equipment? please look in to this thanks

Steering is drifting.

I could not controlled the steering wheel.it was not correlation between the steering wheel and the car. Triking a rock on the side of the road. Total loss. Luckly was fine because of low speed.

The power steering light will remain light and the power steering will not work.if the power steering light turns off, there are several loud clunking noises and the steering feels as if the wheels have hit something when turned.this is a persistent problem and has been occurring for quite some time and keeps getting worse.i believe there is a tsb already on this issue.

I bought my daughter a 2008 nissan sentra for christmas (2010). This morning (11 june 2011) i took my 16 year old daughter out to learn how to parallel park at the dmv.as she was backing up to park she said she could not turn the steering wheel.i tried to turn the steering wheel and noticed a pslight on the dash board.i took over and tried to maneuver the car and it was almost impossible. I then turned the car off and open the hood to determine the problem but saw no visual defects.i then got back in the car, started it up and the ps light was gone and the power steering was working again.when we got home i looked on the internet to see if there was a recall and found many complaints on the steering of the sentra but no recall.i called the dealership and they told me i would have to pay for it because there is no recall for the sentra only the nissan xterra and frontier have been recalled. I bought a nissan about 20 years ago and had the best experience with my vehicle and put my trust in them to ensure my daughter had the best and safest vehicle on the road but little did i know they no longer are in the business of preserving human life and customer service.my daughter could have been alone on a major highway in that vehicle when it stopped working and caused a fatal accident for many people but no one is concerned about human life anymore it's all about profit.now i've got to find my daughter another vehicle because i've lost all confidence in the integrity of the nissan company.i'd rather take a loss of money then a loss of life.thanks nissan.

A few months ago while trying to parallel park into a tight space i had to cut my steering wheel all the way to the left and the car shut off, when i released steering wheel the car turned back on, same thing happened when i turned the steering wheel all the way to right.most recently i was making a k-turn and my car kept shutting off on me no matter how much or little i was turning it.i was literally stuck in the middle of the street creating a traffic jam.it took me approximately 10,minutes to make a k-turn

For a year or so my steering has begun to shake and make a clicking sound, especially while going down a hill and applying the brakes.at first i thought it was my brakes, and i took the car to my mechanic.however, after an inspection of the entire vehicle, my car received a clean bill of health.even the brakes were in great condition.the mechanic did witness my complaint while road testing the vehicle and informed me that it seems to be a design flaw in my steering column.he offered to order parts and replace the damaged component, but my car is not even three years old!the clicking can also be heard when the car is in park and you just turn the wheel from side to side.the clicking was barely noticeable at first, but after about six months it became progressively worse.now it is loud enough and my wheel shakes so badly that my passengers ask me what is wrong with my car.something is just not right.

I bought my nissan sentra ser in june 2008. I replaced my tires in october 2010. Beginning at 25,000 miles my car isn't steering or driving the way it used to. I thought the alignment was off and it was slightly. One place tells me it's the wear of my tires, another place says it's my toe and suspension, the dealer ship doesn't see any problems. I have taken my car in now to 4 different place about 6-7 times now. Last week i was at the nissan dealership where i bought my car and i drove the car and so did the mechanic that worked on my car. He said "maybe it's the driver that's the issue." i was insulted and after years of driving i know when my car is driving funny. Still till this day, when i drive my car at high speeds i feel like i'm going to lose control. Especially on express ways in the car i feel like it is a windy day and my car will decide to either go to the left or go to the right. I don't feel it so much when i first start driving but after 10 minutes on the same road. There needs to be a recall on this. I have spent so much money and the problem still is not fixed. I've searched online and in discussion sites people are having the same issue. It's after 25,000 miles are driven. The problem is so bad i want to trade in my car.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra. The contact stated while driving approximately 25 mph over a bump, the steering wheel began to jerk violently. The vehicle hydroplaned, flipped over and landed on the roof. The air bags failed to deploy aside from the massive impact. A police report was filed. The rear passenger suffered from minor injuries to the head and the front seat passenger sustained bruises to the right leg. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to an independent mechanic. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

The steering of this car needs constant correction. It's like it cannot drive a straight 1 mile line. If the car drifts to the left, i turn briefly and slightly right but the car will then go right. I then turn slightly left but the car will continue to go left until i correct it again. It's like it cannot keep a straight line. It is dangerously sensitive to the shape of the road. I need to make corrections every few seconds. The severity of the problem depends on the road, mostly observable at highway speeds. I believe that 5-7 seconds of no correction would be enough to cross into another lane causing a crash.

Power steering failure.drove car and then parked.returned to car and upon starting noticed that the power steering failure light was on and had no power steering when driving. (system is electric power steering) drove car to dealer with no power steering.following day, when dealer attempted to perform corrective service and diagnose problem the power steering is working.therefore they have released the vehicle as not having any service problem.i have no confidence that the problem will not occur again and potentially cause an accident.

2008 sentra, 23,000 miles with new tires and you are always fighting the steering. Around town it is extremely aggravating to continually feel back pressure and bouncing in response to your every move. Generally it wants to fight towards center but is confused by minor wheel movement. At highway speeds it is scary, unstable and unsafe. Slight wheel movement during straight line freeway driving is always met with over compensation back towards center. You can feel the rear end whip when this occurs. The dealer says they have had no complaints. Hopefully there will be some adjustment or resolution soon.

I was coming to a complete stop and the breaks did not stop the car forcing me to hit someone. I always had trouble with the breaks with forced me to change them every so often. This time was tough.

Right rear wheel is out of alignment, rear wheel alignment can not be adjusted. Whirring noise is heard during driving, whirring gets louder, more rapid as vehicle speed increases.noise, frequency gets quieter, less frequent as vehicle speed decreases. Rr tire shows irregular wear.

Since the day i purchased the vehicle i have had ongoing issues with the tire pressure sensors. The light comes on and will not go off. The first time it happened the dealership replaced the sensor. A week later it came on again, the sensor was replaced again. As i drove off the lot it came back on. The entire rim and sensor was replaced. It has continued to come on repeatedly over the years. In addition i have had to replace all 4 tires yearly as they wear unevenly, regardless of the brand. The back tires wear in a wave pattern, the front wear around the edges even after new tires are balances and aligned. I can not drive at highway speeds with the windows open because of the noise the tires make. It makes me sick to my stomach. With all the other sensor light, tire and suspension issues others are having i am surprised there hasn't been action taken. Tires are not an accessory part, it is a necessary part and when they fail people get hurt.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra. The contact stated that while the vehicle was being inspected by a private mechanic, it was found that the axle had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the issue and offered to pay a portion of the repair costs. The failure and current mileages were 67,000. The vin was not available.

My 2008 nissan sentra has been wearing out tires rather quickly.i had the alignment checked by a local shop and they informed me that the rear tires were out more than twice the limit. They also informed me that there is no adjustment.i then took the vehicle to a nissan dealer for an alignment.they aligned it and gave me the spec sheet.i noticed that the rear tires were out once again by more than twice the spec.i informed the dealer and they had the vehicle for 2 more days only to inform me that they could not align it and refunded my money.after speaking with nissan they proceeded to tell me that they no problems with rear wheel alignment.in the meantime my tires are wearing and the vehicle handles very poorly in the rain.

The day of delivery of my 2008 nissan sentra, i noticed the rear wheels tilt in at the top, especially the left rear wheel, at least 5 degrees negative camber (i am an insurance auto appraiser ). It also appears to have slight tow in. This is a fixed non-adjustable beam axel, that was set up wrong in the assembly jig and welded up wrong. After some research, this affects 07 and 08 models. The tires will wear out quickly on the inside of the tread (not too noticeable from the outside of the car), and may blow out. At best i will be replacing rear tires all the time. I complained to the dealer 7/29/08 the week after delivery and he said nissan is aware of the problem and is working on it. They were aware of this in 2007 and have done nothing so far, and are still shipping cars with defective rear beam axles. Can you please help somehow. I could get better mileage if the alignment problem was fixed also. Thank you.

2008 nissan sentra rearend toe out and can not be adjusted by dealership.this causes the rearend to be unstable on wet or slick roadsalso wears out tires in less than 12,000 miles.

Rear tires worn completely at 15k miles. Dealer replaced out of pocket. Condition continued, other original 2 tires worn out at 23k miles. Dealer finally got a shim kit ordered from nissan, they don't specify this as a problem. Dealer was "unaware" of rear axles being out of alignment and i had to pay $72 to get an alignment to prove it. No adjustments were possible to the rear end to bring it back in-line. The dealer had to pay for the second alignment after the repair. Nissan only paid for the dealers time and shim kit. Nissan should reimburse me for the new tires, $232, and both alignments, as well as the original tires the dealership replaced.this is a safety hazard as the rear of the car wanders when on ice or other slippery surfaces.

Re:rear tire - 2008 nissan sentrathe rear tires on the vehicle have been going flat or blown out more than 6times over the last 67,000 miles.the front tires on the vehicle have never had this problem.a few times the tires have slowly deflated and i was able to inflate them a few times before having to replace them.however, there have been other times where the tire has blown out very badly on the highway.all these occurrences only happen to the rear tires of the vehicle.once, i got one of the deflated rear tires repaired and then it blew out on the highway a few months later.since this is a very time consuming process, i usually get the tire replaced.i have owned cars continuously since 1997 (2 honda civics) and i have never had any persistent tire problems.please look into this problem for me.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I purchased a new 2008 nissan sentra.the first winter driving the car i noticed it drove poorly on wet or snow covered roads - it felt like it was sliding or wandering.i was going to purchase snow tires but did not.after about one year i noticed the rear tires were greatly worn.i paid to have an alignment done and also purchased new tires.i was told by the tire store that the rear could not be aligned due to a manufacturing defect. I then discovered that the alignment issue was well known to nissan by this time.the car dealer should have checked the alignment, and if found defective should have fixed it prior to transfer of the car to me.i feel my safety was at risk due to the alignment problem.i feel this should have been a recall and the problem corrected by the dealer.i shouldn't have had to discover this problem myself, since it was a known problem by nissan and its dealers.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra.the contact stated that the tire pressure light illuminated and remained lit, which indicated that there was low tire pressure.she took the vehicle to the dealer four times for inspection.on one occasion, she was informed that there was a nail in the tire, which caused low pressure and the light remained illuminated.the contact was informed that the dealer installed a sensor and the tire pressure light dimmed afterwards.two to three weeks after the repair, the light illuminated again.the manufacturer has not been notified.the current mileage was 18,272 and failure mileage was 7.

Tire pressure monitoring valve were faulty. Went to buy tires at costco tire center. Told valves were faulty leading to tire light to stay on , on the dashboard. They would not replace tires unless the valveswere replaced.nissan has recallon other models but won't acknowledge my 2008 sentra i am making this complaint in hopesif enough people complain they would include us in a recall.

Tire monitoring system light came on and transmission went out.

I bought my 2008 nissan sentra brand new in sept 08. In nov 08 the low tire pressure indicator came on and would not go off. I had the car serviced to reset the indicator. I was told that this occurs all the time and there is no way to fix it. My indicator has lit up again and i filed complaints with the dealership and with nissan customer care. My tires all had 33 lbs of air in them at the time. I was told the indicator may have been activated because of the cold weather. They further told me that the only way to stop this indicator from staying on constantly is to remove the air from my tires and refill them with nitrogen which will cost me a fee of $50. I have not even owned my car for 6 months. I should have been advised about this issue before it was bought and it should be fixed at no cost to me. My vehicle is under full warranty.

Airbag light flashing, then horn didn't work; now the cruise control is not working. I see several similar problems noted in the database. Several close calls without the horn.

Vehicle air bag began flashing and horn stopped working when pressed.

I was driving my 2008 nissan sentra and the car would shake out if no where next thing you know it didn't want to accelerate any more it's just stopped and i was driving on a high way

There the code of p1778 that keeps coming up on about a cvt and ifs affecting the driveand strain the transmission i dont understand the issue is recurring.and this happen while driving on the highway. You can feel the car hesitant

Air bag light remains on and blinking continously.the horn also stopped working. Feels very unsafe driving without a horn. Since both the airbag and horn are in the steering wheel and reading through several other similar complaints i would assume they are related. Should be recalled as many other nissans have been recalled with the same issue.

Air bag light has come on for no apparent reason.steering wheel controls, including radio and cruise control no longer work and haven't for some time now.the "wheels" or "hubcaps" peeled off and look terrible.when driving over 60 mph the car shakes.one owner- 142,000 miles

I purchased the car drove it home with no problem.2 days after my purchase it drives very slow and won't pick up speed.

While driver was parking vehicle and had foot on brake pedal the vehicle accelerated forward striking a structure.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra. The contact stated that while the vehicle was being started, the rpm revved up with an abnormal sound coming from the engine. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to nissan infiniti of san francisco located at 1395 van ness ave, san francisco, ca 94109, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the fuel injector needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to nissan serramonte located at1500 collins ave #a, colma, ca 94014, for a second diagnostic test. The contact was informed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra. The contact stated that while attempting to stop, the accelerator pedal stuck and the brakes would not engage when applied so the vehicle crashed into a wall. The contact turned off the engine and the vehicle was taken to a body shop for repair. A police report was filed but the police stated that the contact must have depressed the accelerator pedal. The vehicle had not been inspected for the cause of the failure at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 22,500. The current mileage was approximately 24,000.

A leased 2008 nissan sentra has gotten stuck in acceleration gear while i am attempting to slow to a stop.i have to press hard on the brakes and shift the car into neutral to stop the engine from racing.this has happened since around 18,000 miles and i now have 23,000 miles on the car.brakes also emit a low whistling noise while slowing down to stop or turn.have complained to dealer on maintenance visits but told they can find nothing wrong with brakes; "could be dust on pads or moisture."

I was stopped at a redlight behind about 3 other cards. When the light changed to green i began to remove my foot from the brake when the car suddenly jolted forward at a high speed. I had the brake pedal to the floor but the car did not stop. I maneuvered myself all over the road to avoid pedestrians and oncoming traffic at the intersection. I was able to avoid one head-on collision that only damaged the mirrors as we passed by each other. I went onto the sidewalk taking out several feet of cyclone fence. The fence post nearly punctured thefront windshield (lucky) and damaged the hood and other parts of the vehicle as it bounced off. The car came to a stop as quickly as it began. The nissan "engineer" could find no cause theunintended acceleration. I travel this road everyday.this never happened before. I was not charged by the police who said," i can't believe you pulled this off". I sent a complaint to nissan and to consumer products safety but i did not hear about fhsa until toyota began having the same problem. If there was a problem with the car, nissan denied it. Based on an interview with an electronics engineer that i heard on npr, isn't is possible these accelerations are extraneous? this person claims cells phones and other electronic devices can cause this. I wasless than 1 mile from a verizon cellphone tower. Who knows? maybe he is right and the location of the initial unintended acceleration may be work investigating.

Came to a stop light at the bottom of a hill in a 25mph zone and the car stayed at 2,000rpm's. Had to turn off car to stop it, never went down to idle speed. Dealer reset parameters on computer and reset idle learn.

I was parking my 2008 nissan sentra.i had already pulled into the parking space and suddenly the car accelerated (much faster than it normally accelerates at such a slow speed).prior to the acceleration, i could not have been driving more than five miles an hour. I ran into the cement wall at the end of the parking lot. The car accelerated so fast that it left skid marks. This has never happened before with my car. I bought it new and it has approximately 21,000 miles.also, i did check the floor mat. It was not in any way interfering with the gas or brake pedal.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan sentra.the driver stated that the bottom of the windshield was distorted.the dealer replaced the windshield with a slightly less distorted windshield.the manufacturer stated that the distortion was a normal characteristic of that particular style windshield.the current and failure mileages were less than 5,150.

I recently purchased a 2008 nissan sentra with a factory installed optional auto dimming rear view mirror. While exiting 95 south onto 528 east i was blinded by the early morning sun and automatically reached for my sunvisor. When i tried to pull it down it hit the rear view mirror and stopped in a position that blocked my entire forward view except for a few feet. I immediately pulled off the road to ascertain what had just happened. It was now that i discovered a dangerous flaw in the design of this mirror. It was so wide it blocked both visors from going through full travel to the down position. I went to the nissan dealership where i had purchased the vehicle and noted that these auto dimming mirrors were 10.5 inches wide as opposed to the standard day/nights 9.5 inches on other 2008 sentras. I advised the service manager of this and he and others verified that all the sentras with this option had the same too large mirror. An attempt was made to see if this was just a batch a wrong mirrors but after ordering a replacement it turns out these are in all sentras and there are no auto dimming 9.5 inch mirrors according to nissan. I have made every attempt to allow the dealership to resolve this but they just refer it to nissan. Seems like no one at nissan watched the gene hackman movie "class action". I reference this movie becausemy other vehicle is a nissan titan and it has the same exact mirror only with different part number. Seems the term "bean counters" comes to mind. I sincerely believe this to be a dangerous safety issue which could result in injury/death to an unsuspecting driver of one of these vehicles. This may or may not be an issue with the similar 2007 and 2009 models.

Driving down highway with nearest vehicle several hundred feet away when the sunroof glass appeared to have "exploded".there was a very load noise followed by the sound of small pieces of glass sliding across the hood and trunk.did not see any projectile (i.e. Stone) that might have hit the sunroof.the glass appears to have been blown out as opposed to an implosion due to being hit by a projectile.

I was in an accident, and air bag failed to deploy.brakes may have not been repaired to full functional capacity from the dealership when serviced which resulted in not braking in time and loss of control of vehicle. I looked up the vehicle on a nissan recall website and found out that it's one of the ones on the recall list.

The tpms sensors are activated without any air drop, when checking them they appear to work correctly, it is reset and at 20 miles they are activated again

I purchased the car drove it home with no problem.2 days after my purchase it drives very slow and won't pick up speed.
