Airbag light keeps flashing. Sensor is defective. Nissan said they dont cover.its not included on the warranty.cluster light on dash is blinking on and off making car unsafe to drive.
I started noticing a crack in the dashboard - passenger side front seat in the summer.the crack continues to grow and it looks like the airbag is about to burst out.you can see a definite line where the crack is going to continue to grow.the outline of the airbag is obvious, which i have never seen before.i have asked if my vehicle has a takata airbag, which no one will answer.
My airbag light stays on when i'm driving and i'm sure it is faulty. Also the light indicator for my tire pressure stays on even though i've put adequate air in the tire. This occurs while the car is motion and when it is not in motion.
February 2009 i purchase a 2009 nissan maxima vin#1n4aa51e29c.......there have been minor issues that i have dealt with. Let me explain, first the motors that move the steering column up/down (warranty covered) and in/out (a $600 estimate) both have gone out. Secondly, the left front tire pressure sensor ($186) was found to be faulty on february 20, 2015 with mileage of 47,859. Thirdly, the front left strut ($142) had to be replaced and both front strut mounts have been replaced ($176), which is a recall for some vehicles but not mine. I'm confused by this but let's move on the biggest problem i'm having with nissan. Today the only recall on my 09 maxima has been the escl, which was replaced on july 21, 2017 with 73,429 miles of the car. I immediately noticed a different sound when starting the car. I was told there was nothing they could do about the sound, so i drove the car home. Shortly after, the airbag light on the dashboard started blinking and the passenger airbag indicator came on. On february 19, 2018, my car was taken to a local nissan dealership to get the airbag system fixed with 76,443 miles on the car. The service department ran a diagnostic report ($95) finding code dct b1018 as a problem. They reported their findings to me and gave an estimate of the repairs to be between $2,000 and $4,000, a big difference. I talked with the service department about what had to be done to fix the airbag system, how much time the repairs would take, why such a wide spread in the financial estimate and what may have caused this problem. I learned a lot from this conversation. The biggest surprise was learning that nissan changed how their airbag system sensors worked from always on to off until a seat was occupied. I would feel more like a valued customer when nissan pays 100% of a problem that has been caused by 'no fault' of the consumer.
Air bag light appears at all times on dashboard blinking
My airbag module sensor light was activated , it has been flashing and becoming very annoying. I recently purchase my used 2008 nissan maxima 3 months ago. I went to the dealer, got a diagnostic check done and was advised it would be $915 to replace the module because i exceeded the 3/36 warranty. I feel this is a safety issue and nissan should be held responsible for fixing the faulty equipment.
Passenger occupancy sensor not working
The driver side airbag has malfunction with the light constantly flashing. Took vehicle to nissan dealers to diagnose what is causing the problem with airbag light constantly flashing and was told they do not know, but if i get involve in an accident the airbag probably will not inflate.they print out several steps nissan north america recommends to fix the problem which would cost me thousands of dollars. My seat-belts are powertrain until 2018.this makes no since that my driver side airbag all of a sudden stop working even though i have had no accidents involving my car therefore, nissan should voluntarily fix the problem before i am involved in an accident and my airbag does not inflate which could lead to deadly consequences.i want the fhta to contact nissan and have them to work to resolve this issue before it leaves to something seriously. Nissan dealer even stated that this problem might have happen by me turning my steering wheel which made no sense to me.
The contact owns a 2008 nissan maxima. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated when the vehicle was started. The indicator remained illuminated for the past week. The dealer (94 nissan of south holland, located at 16269 van dam rd, south holland, il 60473, (708) 333-2000) was contacted by phone and informed of the failure. The contact was informed that a diagnostic test should be performed to verify the cause of the failure, but the contact declined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 96,000.
Upon starting the car, air bag light continues to blink and does not go out.the indication is that something is wrong with the air bag system, thus making the vehicle unsafe to drive.
The contact owns a 2008 nissan maxima. While driving at least 15 mph, the vehicle was involved in a minor crash. The passenger side air bag deployed without warning. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. Although the insurance company declared the vehicle as destroyed, the contact repaired the vehicle, but did not repair the air bag. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 13v136000(air bags). The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.
Air bag warning light came on.i took same to nissan dealership service center and had a diagnostic test done on it which cost me $98.00 and the advised me that the air bag spring is weak, air bag has never been deploy and then the tell me if in an accident it may/may not deploy.(also if hit a hard enough bump it may cause it to) this has to be a defect why would a steering wheel air bag spring just go weak and there is not wear and tear to it.this sounds like a defect to me.i have known a guy that had to replace his.so i am probably not the only one with this problem going on.when this happen i checked for recalls by it stated none had been reported.
Takata recall-the airbag light is on and per the dealer the spiral cable and clock spring needs to be replaced.they explained that the part is what's needed for the airbag to return back once deployed.they informed me the airbag will deploy if in an accident, but it won't return like it was originally designed to do.the vehicle has never been in an accident; therefore, the airbag hasn't been deployed.
The contact owns a 2008 nissan maxima.while the contact's 85 pound wife was seated in the passenger seat, the air bag light illuminated and dimmed intermittently.the sales dealer stated that the light should work properly with someone between 70-80 lbs in the seat.after inspecting the vehicle, the dealer and the manufacturer stated that nothing could be done.the current mileage was 4,190 and failure mileage was approximately 3,000. Updated 04/21/08
My passage side air bag leather is splitting!i've gone to the dealership where i bought the vehicle, i was told they don't fix it or don't know anyone that will.if they would fix it, the car dealership would be responsible if it did not open!i've asked around no one knows anyone that can repair it...never had an accident in the car.
I noticed a small crack on the passenger side dash.the small crack has grown to 4 inches.there is a clear "line" that the crack is following - and it appears to be exactly where the air bag would deploy.the dealership suggested that someone used a knife or scissors on the dash??no vinyl repair shop will attempt a repair as it is near the airbag.there is one other complaint registered for this same issue.clearly it is a manufacturer's issue that nissan will not take care of.
The contact owns a 2008 nissan maxima. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the air bag sensor light would flash off and on. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the front passenger seat air bag sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 63,700.
Airbag light has turned on. They where not deployed. Tried to reset the light but it still came on. Tried to erase the light with obd2 reader but the code never showed. The light turned on out of nowhere. Its been on for months.
The contact owns a 2008 nissan maxima. The contact noticed a crack near the front passenger side air bag on the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but they were unable to repair the dashboard due to it being above the air bag. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 112,000.
The contact owns a 2008 nissan maxima. The contact was sitting idle at a traffic stop when a vehicle crashed into the rear of his vehicle at approximately 35 mph, which caused the vehicle to front end an eighteen wheel truck. The contacts airbags did not deploy. The contact sustained neck and muscle injuries. A passenger sustained injuries to the lower back. The vehicle was destroyed. A police report was filed. The current and failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
The airbag system stopped working. The airbag light continues to flash and the cruise control has stopped working. The vehicle was stationary when this started.
Visible cuts on the passenger side airbags started to form on the dash board outlining the shape airbag container underneath.afraid that this might cause an accidental deploy. Contacted nissan but they refused to fix the problem.
I got into my car and tried to start itand the ignition would not turn. This has happen several times since we purchased the car october 2007. We were told it was a built in safety factor and just turn the steering wheel and it would work. Well i tried to turn the wheel several times and it would not budge. I then tried to get out of my car and couldn't. I also could not open the windows because they are power windowsand without the car running you cannot operate them.( you can check the records july 4th was an extremely hot day, in the 80's at that time) i finally i climbed over the gear shift and center console to get to the passenger door which i was able to open. ( i am 75 years old so you can imagine it was not easy, nor would it be for anyone. When my son came home from work he tried and was finally able to turn the steering wheel but said it took everything to turn it, and then he was able to start the car.this is a safety hazard not a safety factor. I will never buy a nissan again.
The localdealer repair department eliminated the flashing air bag light on the dashboard with an adjustment to the computer. A few weeks later, the air bag light flashed again. This time, the same dealer replaced the passenger seat belt and the flashing light was extinguished. Again a few weeks later the same event recurred and the same dealer once again extinguished the flashing light and told me that a "glitch" caused the problem. While on a long trip of 2600 miles the air bag light flashed once again. At this time the odometer read 90,000 miles and the dealer told me that the passenger seat control module would need to be replaced at a cost of $1800.00. Note that of these four visits, the service department personnel did not give me any documentation nor charge me for the visits. I was told that the previous three visits were covered under warranty but the last visit was not under warranty. Higher personnel did not offer any recommendations to resolve this problem. Is this a safety issue? is this the procedure for undertaking this repair? how can i be reassured that this seat control module resolve the problem?
When trying to adjust drivers side seat, the seat will not adjust but will eventually adjust after the driver has already started to drive. The seat then adjusts all the way to the front which puts the driver as close as possible to the steering wheel and also puts the drivers feet close to the brake and gas pedal which causes inadvertent pressing of both gas and brake.
Airbag light keeps flashing. Sensor is defective. Nissan said they dont cover.its not included on the warranty.cluster light on dash is blinking on and off making car unsafe to drive.
My airbag light stays on when i'm driving and i'm sure it is faulty. Also the light indicator for my tire pressure stays on even though i've put adequate air in the tire. This occurs while the car is motion and when it is not in motion.
The contact owns a 2008 nissan maxima. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle lost power and stalled without warning. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the vehicle stalled because the anti-theft system registered the key as faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact spoke to metro nissan of redlands (1665 industrial park ave, redlands, ca 92374) who stated that the repair would not be covered under warranty and the entire anti-theft system would need to be re-mapped. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the contact would have to pay out of pocket for the repair. The approximate failure mileage was 135,000.
The timing chain tensioners prematurely wear, causing a whining noise as the chain rubs against the tensioner while the vehicle is turned on. This wear eventually grinds through the tensioner resulting in complete engine failure which can lead to a crash or injury. This began to happen for me just outside of the manufacturer warranty, and is a costly repair for a part of the engine that should not have to be maintained within the engines expected lifetime.
While waiting for a traffic light to turn green the car stalled.had to turn the car starter several times before the car would start again.the dealer diagnosed the issue as a failed cam and crank shaft sensor.prior to this incident the car had trouble starting and would stall when the engine was cold.the dealer diagnosed the issue as the fuel pump not holding its pressure.cam and crank shaft sensors were replaced as well as the fuel pump.
The contact owns a 2008 nissan maxima. While driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle stalled and the service engine soon warning indicator illuminated. The contact restarted the vehicle and drove to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the camshaft position sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred two other times. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 61,000.
About 4-5 months ago i noticed an oil spot on my driveway and as the months passed the spots got larger and larger. Now if the car is running my 2008 maxima leaves a large oil spot wherever i am stopped.it is getting very aggravating because i now can't drive my car any long distances for fear of it running out of oil and causing severe engine damage. Please help!
The contact owns a 2008 nissan maxima. The contact stated while that driving approximately 40 mph, a loud ticking noise emitted from the engine. The failure recurred whenever the vehicle was in operation. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for an unrelated repair when they detected that the timing chain would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 103,280.
It started with what the technicians mentioned as a "misfire," and i kept smelling something burning through the air vents inside the car. After spending $1200.00 for a complete tune-up with nissan parts, fixing a motor mount, and a cheap hose that crumbled as they were repairing the car in february 2014 i had to spend another $500.00 in november to replace the same nissan spark plugs that burned out after no where near their usage date and replace back coils. I took the car to nissan to look at the service engine light and ask why one headlight is foggy and the other one is not in which they had no answer so i had to pay $75.00 for them to clean the foggy light and now it's foggy again so they say $1200 for a new one which is ridiculous to me. The paint is fading and the chrome is completely gone on the roof and this is 2008 model which makes no sense to me. After spending this in 2014, in february 2015 i had to pay nissan $2000.00 to replace the catalyst converter, fix an oil leak, tpm sensor for the second time, and for a brake flush and rear brakes. I took the car in to nissan today and tire pressure light is on spent two hours them for them to tell me it was a small leak in the tire that they patched and something keeping the rim from sealing around the tire completely. Today i get home and the driver seat would not move backwards or forward after my wife leave to go to work the seat starts to work as i am on the highway driving in heavy traffic and it moves forward all the way to the steering wheel causing me to press down further on the gas which was very dangerous and i was able to struggle to pull over in side median in order to maneuver out of the seat and cut the car off. After standing on side the highway, pressing the seat device it finally moved back enough for me to continue driving to work.
Vehicle hesitates to shift the transmission during acceleration.most noticeable while the vehicle is going up an hill.the transmission produce a whining sound if the pedal is depressed to increase the acceleration.transmission was replaced at just below 33,000 miles by the dealer. The abs motor is running intermittently when the surface is dry and no rain or snow.this car was taken to the dealer numerous times without being repaired or an accurate diagnosis of the problem.the hinges on the hood and the doors are rusting.th

The contact owns a 2008 nissan maxima. The contact stated that while at a complete stop and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the crank and cam sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
I left the ignition on and it ran the battery went down , when i realized the battery was dead we charged the battery next day i got in to drive the car the transmissionwas like in 1st gear of the 6 speed auto transmission , i was out of state and found a dealership it took them a week to replace it, but they did give me a rental car the car had 58,000 thousand miles on it, it has 89,000 now , got in the car this week to go to a funeral and my remote wouldnt work , so i accidently left the car in reverse , when i got out of the car , the car never movedwhen i got in garage i seen the car moving, i dont understand why the car wasnt moving when i got out of it , hit the neighbors house andcaused a lot of damage to it!!
Vehicle stopped forward movement in middle lane of i-95 north.engine revolutions jumped to red zone but no forward movement.had to coast, in light traffic, to edge of roadway merge lane.engine then died.engine re-started about 35 minutes later and traveled to us hwy 1 when same thing happened.vehicle died in outer lane.state police arrived and assisted in pushing vehicle to business shoulder/driveway entrance.had vehicle towed approximately 30 miles to transmission shop in fredericksburg, va where they told me the transmission was gone.
Have a 2008 nissan maxima and just found out i need a transmission after only having it 2yrs ..dealer never told me that it had a problem when he sold to me had i known nissan had a problem with this model i would never had purchase it...i need a whole new transmisson and for 3700 dollars i feel nissan should rplace it at no cost to me since it seems that this issue seems to be with all there models not just mine...it just crap that im stuck trying to fix it...nissan needs to make this problem or rather fix this issue that is so common in there vechicle they need to be held accountable ...check engine light came on and took it to the dealer cause it wouldnt shift and there it was a big heft bill to tell me that i needed a new transmission and had the nerve to tell me nissan are known for bad transmission...not what i wanted to hear...
On february 17, 2015, my daughter drove into a 3' ditch with about 4" of standing water with algea standing on top of the water. I had the vehicle inspected by my local mechanic to see if anything was damaged and had the oil levels checked as well and we continued to drive the vehicle for about 2500 miles. In may 2015 i chose to have the car repaired , front bumper etc. After the bodyshop finished with the car the airbag light needed to be reset by nissan. We continued to drive thecar for another 500 miles and the transmission stopped. I was informed bymy transmission mechanic that there was a recall on the vehicle with an extended warranty. I had the vehicle transported back to nissan for repair on july 27, 2015 and 10 -15 days later i was called and asked if the vehicle had been wrecked.nissan warranty denied the claim based on the opinion the the car was flooded. The transmission oils were checked numerous times with no signs of water damaged. Nissan warranty referred me back to farm bureau to file an insurance claim based on the car was flooded in the accident that happened in february 2015. I had the transmission removed and brians transmission found the belt inside the transmission had broken and come apart. I went back to nissan and requested that a nissan representative come and review the transmission in its current state and to reopen the warranty claim. They informed me that they were not changing their minds this was a closed issue. Currently i am uncertain what will be my next move. I requested to speak to nissan warranty but was informed by nissan corporation that nissan warranty does not speak to individuals. Nissan corp. Did refer me back to the dealership to say that deacon jones nissan would have to be the one to initiate the request and they informed me this afternoon that they would pay up to $500.00 for repairs.
Transmission jerking
When i shift the gears from drive to reverse and vice versa - i can hear the cliking as it shift s and jerks as it does it.
I was backing the car out of my driveway when the car stopped moving in reverse and moved forward. After stopping the car i attempted to back it again with the same results only the car moved forward enough to hit my fence causing minor damage to the driver side bumper.i called my dealership and the sent a tow truck and towed the car to the dealership. When i arrived at the dealership i was told that the car would probably need a new transmission. After a few days the service department call and said the car did in fact need a new transmission. This is a new car about four months old with maybe 5,000 miles on it.

The contact owns a 2008 nissan maxima.the contact stated that the head rest is uncomfortable and cannot be adjusted.she further stated that it would be unsafe to remove.the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they made adjustments, but the failure still persists.the vin was unknown.the current mileage was 1,400 and failure mileage was 500.
The front rotors became warped for the 2nd time since i have owned the car.the first time the car had approx 23k miles, was under warranty and the vehicle was repaired at a local nissan dealership.the car now has 49kmiles and once again began vibrating when the brakes were applied.car was taken to a mechanic, who recommended that both front rotors be replaced.two sets of rotors in a car with less than 50k miles seems excessive.
My car accelerated causing damage to mailbox, telephones pole and i don't know what else? and myself, along with other people could have been seriously hurt, was driving down the street when a car pulled in front of me, i swerved to keep from hitting them, when i did that my car acceleratedto high speed, while my foot was on the brake the whole time and both hands on the stirring wheel while it proceeded to cross the intersection until it came to a stop, foot still on brake while it started to back up slowly back into the intersection i pray to god and then stirred the wheel into the sidewalk and into the back of a pole is where it stopped foot still on brake while the police and ambulance got there. I noticed a week befor it stopped in the middle of me driving it,i thought maybe the key need a new battery so i strarted using the key in the egnition which i usually don't do because of it being a keyless also noticed the seat belt was having issues would not return to its proper place after releasing the belt.? i know this was a electrical or malfunction and someone needs to find it because i did not mistake the gas for the brake.
At temperatures below 20 f the brake pedal will not depress and the car will not stop.this is a recurring incident.most recently, pulled away from parking spot (street parking) and drove towards an intersection with a stop sign.tried to stop, but the brake pedal was stuck (would not depress) and the car rolled past the stop sign until it eventually rolled to a stop on the other side of the road.honked horn to avoid collision as the street i crossed is a busy two-way road.kept the car in park for about a minute while pumping the brakes, and they worked again after that.this seems to be a major complaint of 2005 altima owners as well, please refer to the following webpage: http://www.aboutautomobile.com/complaint/2005/nissan/altima/hydraulic+brake.
While driving the car, high pressure power steering hose burst and lost all power steering fluid causing power steering to fail.was able to bring car to a stop and had it towed to nissan dealer where hose was replaced.i have heard of several other nissan vehicles with this problem but no recall as of yet!
The contact owns a 2008 nissan maxima.the contact stated that her vehicle cannot make a u-turn.the turns are too short for the steering wheel and not sharp enough for the vehicle.the dealer stated that the vehicle was designed in that manner.the contact stated that she will call the manufacturer and file a complaint.the failure mileage was 1,400. Updated 05/26/09 updated 05/28/09.
Rattling noise comes from steering column, defective rack and pinion gear assy. Had to be replaced.

The floor board on the driver's side is rusted through. This is a safety hazard and i have contacted nissan to see if they would assist in covering the repairs. I contacted nissan and i was told by [xxx] that "nissan could not offer any assistance for the repairs...it is just too far out of warranty." my vehicle is only six years old and after additional research have found that rusted out floors are quickly becoming a problem for nissan. My goal here is to make sure others are aware of this problem that nissan is ignoring. I would like nissan to repair my vehicle without charge to me.any assistance or advice you can give me will be appreciated.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2008 nissan maxima. The vehicle was parked when the contact noticed a large gap between the front hood and front bumper.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was told the bumper was built to factory standards.they were unable to repair the vehicle.the failure mileage was 15,000 and the current mileage was 30,000.
Brought my 2008 nissan maxima in for an oil change and noticed extreme rust under the passenger side seat. The rest of the car is spotless underneath, no rust anywhere else. Took the car to a couple body shops and they said it is most likely from a leak inside the car caused by poor sealing when the car was built. This is definitely a manufacturing problem and needs to be addressed by nissan.this has been years in the making and now starting to show. Of course it is out of warranty and the nissan crooks will not take blame for it. I have had 3 nissan vehicles in my lifetime and it is an absolute shame that they will not do anything about it. They know they are building the vehicle improperly but they know the issue will not present itself until after the warranty is expired, leaving them to take no responsibility. I hope someone at nissan is reading this and i hope a lawsuit occurs in the near future. I have attached pictures for your displeasure.
Floor boards have rusted out to carpet on both sides of the vehicle.car is 5 years old and now a safety hazard.i am the original owner, has been well taken care of.
Floorboards rusted out.
I have a 2008 nissan maxima and i noticed that on the bottom of the car on the passenger side the floor board is rusted pretty bad. I was getting my brakes and rotors changed when i noticed the problem. My cousins friend was over his house when he was doing my brakes and rotors and said nissans are known for rust problems under the passenger side of the car and when i looked what do you know its all rusted. I looked up about nissan rust problems and tons of complaints have been filed and nissan doesnt want to take responsibility for this rust problem. I hope there will be a recall to get these rust issues resolved and nissan fixes these problems
I was driving down a highway at about 60 mph and all of a sudden i heard a loud pop and my sun roof shattered into a million pieces. There was no car anywhere around nor did anything fall and hit it.

My 2008 nissan maxima sl floorboards have rusted on both the driver and passenger sides.the rust was so bad, the car would not pass the state of pennsylvania vehicle inspection.i had to have a body shop cut out the floorboards on both sides, weld in new supports, floorboard and then reseal and repair carpet.this was a defect as to the way the corrosion occurred, moisture trapped in between layers of flooring.in addition, it is not a place anyone normally examines, as most cars don't have this type of defect.the repair cost me $850, just so i felt safe in the vehicle and it would pass inspection.the company doing the repair told me all i had between my feet and the road was carpet liner.
Was informed by nissan at the time that the floor boards in my 2008 nissan maxima were beginning to rot.vehicle was brought to nissan dealership on july 20, 2015 and was told at this time there is extensive rot on both the drivers side floorboard and passengers side.was also told that since the vehicle is out of warranty there is nothing nissan can do. So now i am forced to either pay to have it fixed or get rid of the vehicle that runs perfectly fine.
After seeing a today show report earlier in 2015 about under carriage rust in nissan altima's, i decided i should take a look underneath my 2008 maxima.sure enough, there are two large holes rusted all the way through on the driver and passenger side in the same spot. I was a little infuriated that the today show report stated this is only an issue with nissan altima's made between specific years.... That's not the case!this simply can't be a coincidence.this is clearly a manufacturing defect on the part of nissan, and it needs to be addressed as a safety recall. As someone who lives in the upper mid-west, i have to deal with road salt and snow for most of the year.if these holes are completely exposing the inside of my car, how can that be considered safe?i've been quoted for $600 from a nissan dealership to fix this issue.that's simply not going to happen... Nissan needs to own up to the fact that this is a safety issue, and needs to be address on their expense. By not addressing this issue, i'm forced to consider selling a car that otherwise is in near perfect condition.on top of it all, it makes me never want to buy a nissan again, and i will lobby against any friend or family member purchasing a nissan. This is simply a poor business practice.
The driver and front passenger side floorboards are rusting away to the point of necessary repairs.nissan is not willing to fix this obvious manufacturing defect.today, 4/6/15, there was a television piece which aired on nbc's today show talking about the same issue i am having with my car to nissan altima's.the maxima is a sister car the altima.nissan needs to address this serious safety issue in altima's and maxima's.
I purchased this vehicle new in 2008.the vehicle is in excellent condition and has been serviced and washed on a regular basis.when i stepped into the passenger side i felt my foot sink into the passenger front floor board.i lifted the floor mat up and to my surprise i could push down on the carpet through the bottom of the vehicle. I checked the drivers front floor pan and observed the same corrosion. The only thing that will keep my feet in the car is the carpeting.i took it to a local body shop and they would not even work on it.after checking on the internet i was surprised to find so many complaints from consumers regarding the maxima and altima's.i now have a vehicle that is unsafe for the road and the integrity of the vehicle is in question.
Driver and passenger floor rusted big whole on both side. Just look under the car this week when i took it to the mechanic
I noticed that there was rust on the passenger side undercarriage of my 2008 nissan maxima. When i put the vehicle on a lift i was stunned to see that the entire front passenger side undercarriage is completely rusted out and the drivers side is starting to rust. I contacted nissan and they basically said too bad. Is there any type of action that i can take against nissan to remedy this situation? it appears that this is a common problem.
Purchased 2008 maxima as 2nd owner when car was 6 months old with approx. 20k miles.recently while having tired changed, noticed extreme rust on underside of the passenger front seat.in researching the internet, this appears to be a common problem with maximas.this car has been babied since i have owned it, driving minimum miles.what is nissan doing to address this problem?

Purchase a 2008 nissan maxima with 48871 miles from glendora toyota in california and full carfax report was not provided to me at time of purchase. Turns out after driving car for the two days i notice car is defective when driven car over 55 mph on freeway the body of car goes to one side while the tires go another way, it feels unstable and dangerous it swirls and suspension feels horrified it doesn't feel safe. After doing research and printing my own carfax report i come to fine out car has been to several big name dealerships here in southern california for inspection and repairs for alignment and chassis repair or lubrication as mention on report. I was not told this a dealer when i had ask car sale man " his words were car is find and no problems". I feel very unsafe driving this car but i have no other means of getting to work.

Rattling noise comes from suspension assy. Over small bumpover low speed.
Tire pressure monitoring system, have done nothing to correct problem, i read on this website that nissan replaced the tpms on cars and suvs in northern states; but my southern state had a colder than average winter and now the tpms's are out on my family's 2 nissans.
The contact owns a 2008 nissan maxima.the contact stated that there was a malfunction with the tire pressure warning system.he noticed that the indicator continued to illuminate and took the vehicle to the dealer.the dealer found no failures and stated that the tires needed air.the failure occurred four times.the dealer also stated that if the temperature changed, it would trigger the indicator as well.the contact was also informed that if the pressure dropped to -1 lb, the air pressure indicator would illuminate.the manufacturer stated that there was a file already created for the contact.the current mileage was approximately 19,000 and failure mileage was approximately 500. Rusting in their cars' floorboards.rusting large enough to see through the car floor.
The car ignition will not let me turn it
While waiting for a traffic light to turn green the car stalled.had to turn the car starter several times before the car would start again.the dealer diagnosed the issue as a failed cam and crank shaft sensor.prior to this incident the car had trouble starting and would stall when the engine was cold.the dealer diagnosed the issue as the fuel pump not holding its pressure.cam and crank shaft sensors were replaced as well as the fuel pump.

The airbag system stopped working. The airbag light continues to flash and the cruise control has stopped working. The vehicle was stationary when this started.
I was on my way to church from my sisters house for a women's group meeting .my sister lives around the corner approximately a block from the church and i would generally ride with her except she had a rehearsal afterwards.i pulled into a parking spot and my sister pulled up next to me.i had my foot on the brakes because i was parking and before i could switch my vehicle from drive to park, the vehicle started to accelerate and i ran into the church.we were the only two at the church at the time besides the pastor who was inside of the church because she gets their first being that she teaches the women's ministry.i bought the vehicle less than two months ago and had been experiencing problems with it accelerating some when i apply the brakes.i was going to kansas city one day and my aunt asked me to drive.i had just purchased the vehicle but told her that i was a bit afraid to travel in the vehicle because it accelerates slightly when breaking.i also had my sister who witnessed the accident, test drive the vehicle prior to the accident on a few occasions because i felt that there was a problem with it accelerating.she noticed it as well and said that i needed to get it checked out at the dealership.i had plans to take the vehicle to the dealership soon but, just hadn't done it yet.like i said, it would accelerate but only slightly.it was as if i was breaking and it was accelerating at the same time.i wish that i'd taken it in sooner.thankfully no one was hurt.both my vehicle and the church will need repair, and my neck was a pit sore, but i am thankful that i am ok and that no one was injured.i had my vehicle towed to the dealership but they said that they could not find anything wrong with it.i find it quite strange that i was parked and all of a sudden my vehicle takes off as if i was pressing on the gas. This is mind boggling.
