Air bag warning light turns on even after clearing soluspro scanner code, "b1049 driver air bag module (open)". I am concerned my driver's side air bag will spontaneously release or not release at all when needed. If something happens to the driver, all passengers are at risk of fatal injury. I contacted nissan north america, and was told the diagnostic had to be run by a dealer mechanic before they can do anything. They also informed me that there is no campaign currently open for my issues. The body issue has to do with poor paint or clear coat quality common to nissan vehicles. While the rest of my car looks fine, the hood and the roof look horrible. Like someone took sanding paper to the clear coat and the color is faded and getting worse as time passes. I am very disappointed in nissan for this cosmetic detail. I traded in my 2005 nissan maxima because the roof liner sagged as soon as i began driving with the sunroof open. I hope that the results of the air bag issue are as minor as the cosmetic issues, otherwise nissan is going to have some serious problems on there hands.
Airbag warning light won't turn off. I'm worried it will spontaneously deploy at anytime. It is the opinion of various car wash establishments that roof and hood paint is a common defect on nissan vehicles, including mini-vans. My car's hood and roof look like i've lived by the sea for years. Truth is that i've always lived inland. There's no reason why my car should look 20 years old!
Tl ' the contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima.while driving approximately 25 mph, the front passenger side door of the contact's vehicle was struck by another vehicle.as a result, the contact crashed head on into a parked vehicle.the air bags failed to deploy.the contact sustained a fractured sternum.the vehicle was destroyed and a police report was filed.the manufacturer was not notified.the failure mileage was 90,000.jcc
Airbag warning light malfunction about 123,500 miles on my nissan maxima 2007. I am no longer a happy nissan owner, i will never purchase a nissan again.i've had my catalyst converter fail on me nothing, but a money pit.
Driver side airbags deployed after driver side door was shut while parked in driveway. Terrible shaking when going 60mph and especially bad when brakes are applied, which then cause a hard jerk or pull to the right. Wheels were all four bent at the time i purchased the car, but dealer never fixed one thing i listed and he agreed to fix or attempted to fix before the sale. Car was repossessed months later and resold at private auction. The new owners need to be aware of the airbags that are missing. This car obviously was in an accident and does not show up on any vehicle history report but i am unable to prove it. The value of the car at the time of purchase was $4,000. The normal was $6,500 at that time.if i had kept the pos, i'd pay over $21,000 with interest and other fees included. This is fraud.i strongly feel like we're dealing with fraud in this situation, but unfortunately i cannot prove it by myself and no one will help me prove it.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated whenever the vehicle was operated. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer twice where they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 85,000 and the current mileage was 116,821.
Takata recall air bag light continues to stay on , im afraid the airbag is going to explode while im driving. The vehicle was in motion.
2007 nissan maxima. Consumer wanted to know if his vehicle has faulty air bags. *ta
Both the driver's side and front passenger side airbags failed at the same time.while there was a recall on many 2007-2008 nissan models due to airbag issues, the maxima was not included.the fact that both failed at the same time should point to a manufacturer defect/failure.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. While driving approximately 30 mph, the air bag warning light illuminated continuously. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.
I started my car up on 12/11/2019 and my airbag light came on and has been flashing since with no accident. I'm afraid my airbag will deploy while driving down the road.
The horn on this vechicle does not blow. Nissan serviceman told me this was common on this vehicle, and if i didn't repair it , there might be airbag issues. I callnissan and filed a claim # 22887303 on 7-5-2016. Was told not to move vehiclefrom nissan repair dealer. On 7-6-2016 was told by nissan they could not help with this hazard problem.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. After starting the vehicle, the air bag warning light illuminated at random. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where it was repaired for the driver side air bag module and spiral cable, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified ofthe failure. The failure mileage was 61,375.
The airbag sensor for the front passenger is faulty in my 2007 nissan maxima.the light is always flashing in the dash board.i noticed nissan had this problem on other vehicles, but my maxima was not listed in the recall.
Crashed into guard rail and air bag did not deploy.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated at random. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who was unable to diagnose the failure. The warning light continued to illuminate for years and the vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer for diagnosis, who then advised that the air bag module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 101498...updated 04-30-14
Nothing but problems with 07 maxima we bought, later repossessed. The steering wheel and the whole front of the car would shake uncontrollably especially when brakes were used.also wheels (not factory but they were on there when purchased, but asked to replace but never happened) were noticeably bent.and lastly, the front and side airbags deployed after shutting my drivers side door causing my arm to be burned.
The air bag light came on i took it by a local dealer they stated no code showed and didn't have an answer.the light went off a couple days later, light came back on week later took it by a local repair shop (not a dealer) he stated no code but when he touched wires under seat light went off. The lightcame back on took to my dealer(round rock nissan) they said i need a new airbag wow their business was slow i was the only car there for service guess that's why they want to charge 1000.00 to fix when all the honest dealers admitted they weren't sure how to fix since there was no code!!! sounds like nissan needs to add this 2007 maxima to its recall of the (airbag sensor or airbag harness) that is currently being recalled. Looked online alot of people have this same complaint!!!!!very dissatisfied!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Abs sensor problems . Vehicle will not accelerate.
The horn on this vechicle does not blow. Nissan serviceman told me this was common on this vehicle, and if i didn't repair it , there might be airbag issues. The intelligent key is not being recognized by the vehicle. Acts as if the key is not within the reading range. This causes the doors to stay locked/unlocked when using the fob. Also, the ignition will not turn even though the fob is in the car. The actual key has to be removed from the fob in order to operate the vehicle.
I purchased my maxima 2007 in may. So far i put 2440 miles on the vehicle, and the "service engine soon" is on. I would like to have a complain to nissan to find the cause of this symtom.thx.
Abs, slip, tcs & brake lights came on suddenly while taking off and there was excessive vibration. As a result, there was (and still is) a total loss of abs & tcs systems..engines revs high & surges while taking 1/4 mile to reach 40mph.diagnostic states thatthere are problems with the abs actuator, speed sensors & wheel hub.&2,858.65 to repair. Given the lack of acceleration reliability as well as the loss of braking & traction systems, this is a serious safety issue.
When driving the car would loose power and not accelerate. Driving onto on ramp to highway and car would not accelerate and started to loose speed while merging. No lights came on dash or anything. Seems like the car went into limp mode or something.
I was driving north on e i-94 at the posted speed when the call started to slow down and would not accelerate past 40 miles per hour. The sluggish speed continued off and on until i reached my destination.on my return trip home, the multitude of lights came on during the drive (tcs off, brake, abs, slip) and the car would periodically go between sluggish and regular speed.when i took it to the dealership, the car was diagnosed with have a bad abs actuator and one bad speed sensor, total cost of repairs about $2400.from what i've read, this is a recurring nissan problem across models and should be recalled.it is unconscionable that we should be have to pay for a company mistake.
Loud whining ticking sound.timing chain and sensor.horrible noise and car rides terrible
On april 3, 2016 i started my 2007 nissan maxima which the engine shook then stalled after running for about 3 seconds. Had it towed to a local nissan dealer which informed me that the timing jump and bent valves now needing a new engine. After researching found that there is a class action lawsuit against nissan for their timing chain guide which causes the timing chain to jump and damage the engine. Reading how dangerouswhen any of these occur while the vehicles are in motion, occupants of the vehicles are exposed to rear end collisions and other accidents caused by the driver's inability to maintain an appropriate speed on the road. The fact that the timing chain systems are prone to premature failure is also material to consumers because there is no safe alternative way for owners of the subject nissan vehicles to avoid the risk of potential harm. As a result of its failure to disclose the material fact that the timing chain systems installed in the subject nissan vehicles are prone to premature failure, nissan has recklessly placed the safety of owners and occupants of the vehicles at risk. Traveling at 65 mph on the highway my new timing chain failed causing "catastrophic engine failure" on a car for which i am diligent about maintenance. Again, almost killed on the highway! had to buy a brand new engine at a cost of $8100!" - 2006 nissan pathfinder owner / lewiston, maine. As you see by this article how dangerous this issue with nissan is and they are not doing anything about it. Now my engine will not start and nissan refuses to install and new enginewhen they now it is a manufacture defect. This is my second engine in my 2007 nissan maxima, the first one blew when my daughter driving on the highway and the piston exploded out of the block and engine caught on fire because the timing chain failed.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. The contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the vehicle. An independent mechanic diagnosed that the timing chain needed to be replaced.a dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 116,000.
This friday october 24th i was driving back home in my 2007 maxima se (vin: [xxx]) when suddenly my car stalled while driving with no control over the steering wheel. Luckily i was at the entrance of my subdivision minute after taking exit from a 50 mph state route. My car ran over the curb barely missing a rare collision with a suv whose driver had no clue what's going on with my car. I can't even imagine what could have happened if the car stalled on 50 mph state route during the rush hour. The problem turned out to be a faulty cam shaft sensor that i've ordered and will be arriving in a day or two. Regardless of the faulty part i believe the car behavior is unacceptable as a result of that. I did spent time researching about this problem online and it looks i'm not the only one as there are many nissan owners with this problem and have their own horror stories to tell. I guess i'm extremely lucky that i'm writing this email in person vs. Someone else doing it for me. It's extremely hard for me to believe that the car would stall due to a faulty issue and i'm sure nissan is aware of this problem but there is still no recall.i urge nissan to consider this issue seriously and make remedy available as soon as possible before its too late.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
It started with the car not going over 40 mph the first few minutes of driving and then it would be ok. I didn't get check engine light or any warning signs, so i drove it like that for 5 months until the car stopped accelerating, and it won't go over 20 mph. Still no check engine light. I took it to the dealer and was told the engine timing chain was out along with the transmission. The repair cost was over $8000. A 12 year-old car with 114,000 miles is headed to the junk yard. I was the first and only owner of the car and took really good care of it but sad to see it go so soon.
My car has approximately 60,000 miles on it. When i took it to the dealer for a squeaky noise in the engine, they told me the timing chain was failing and needed to be replaced. My hood and roof also have the clear coat peeling up and fading. Since timing chain is a safety issue, i paid 2,000 for them to fix this. I contacted their consumer affairs and since my car is out of warranty, they cannot help me.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled as all of the lights on the instrument panel illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the cam shaft sensor was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 59,631 and the current mileage was 59,800.
The car makes a knocking sound when the engine is running. I took the car to the dealer and they stated it was the timing chain and tensioner. The cost for repair is 2500. This is the first time i have ever heard of a timing chain going bad with a car with this mileage. I am very upset looked the problem up on the internet and noticed alot of people are having a problem with this on their cars. I feel nissan should replace this at their cost.
The timing chain needs to be overhauled due to faulty guides.the engine makes a whining noise and authorized nissan dealer indicated it was due to the timing chain.
Timing chain tensioner and guide is defective.it is a known issue (since 2004) but nissan refuses to pay for it and pass the costly repairs onto the consumer.
Took my 07 maxima with 73k miles to a nissan dealer for a whining noise i thought was the transmission which is under mfg. Warranty. Was told the noise is from the timing chain guides. A repair of almost $2000.00. Now i find that there is a tsb on this from years ago. I've had this car since 2009, nissan should have notified owners since this defect left not repaired could cause the motor to cut out at any time. It also will destroy the motor since it"s not a clearance engine. I have maintained this vehicle to the letter. Nissan is know for this engine and the reason i buy them is they use timing chains not belts.
During a maintence check the dealership reported that the secondary timing chain is making excessive noise. They recommend i replace the secondary timing kit for $1,500 as soon as possible. They also stated drivers floor pan rust and passagner side show sign of going soon they stated nissan had fix for this that would cost $925 and that this was something that happens alot to this cars
During a routine oil change, the dealership reported that the secondary timing chain is making excessive noise. They recommend i replace the secondary timing kit for $1,939.52 as soon as possible.
On 10/05/2015 the car started to shift funny and felt like loss of fuel on startsand turning corners.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled intermittently without warning. After several attempts, the vehicle restated. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the crankshaft sensor failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000. Updated 02/05/16*lj; updated 03/23/18
Timing chain and and all the plastic guides failed without warning.never knew until check engine light came on.took to dealer to get checked, come to find out that the primary and secondary timing chains have both failed.
The second time my car stalled i was driving back home in my 2007 maxima when suddenly my car stalled while driving. I was making a left hand turn from major road onto my street. The first time it happened i was in the left hand lane on a major road at rush hour accellerating from a stop light. I took car to the nissan dealer and based on me telling them i was hearing a whining noise and not the stalling issue they informed me it was faulty cam shaft sensors and the timing belt. Service advisor told me it had to be repaired or my life could be in danger depending on where it decided to stall the next time or the timing chain failed and killed my engine.this cost me approximately$2000.my car had ~100,000 miles and i have had all recommended services performed at the same dealer.regardless of the faulty part i believe the car behavior is unacceptable and nissan should do something to address the issue instead of using the problem as a cash cow.
My wife and i purchased a 2007 nissan maxima from b.m.w auto dallas llc. The vehicle was advertised as having 137,000 miles. Despite other issues with the car, the deciding factor for the purchase was the low miles. After purchase, our mechanic discovered what he described as "shady business" under the hood and recommended we check the vin through carfax, autocheck, etc.we purchased an autocheck vehicle report and discovered the odometer was rolled back. From 166k in 2016 to 112k in 1018. The dealer did not disclose information that would have impacted price, at a minimum and our overall buying decision. The mileage fraud also impacts the future selling price of the vehicle.
Timing chain needed to be replaced.understand from internet search that there have been many complaints about the nissan timing chains and their defective design and nature.according to dealer, no recall or service bulletins issued about this defect.
My new 2007 nissan maxima was "bucking" at 40 mph & 60 mph.the service engine soon came on.later that day, the vehicle stalled out on me 3 times.the next day i was able to drive the vehicle to the dealership.they indicated that it was the cam shaft.the next day i was able to pick up my vehicle.however, i couldn't get it out of the dealership parking lot after stalling 3 times each time i put it into drive.the mechanic was authorized to take my vehicle over night to drive it after being able to test drive it.i was informed the next day that the mechanic couldn't get it out of the dealership parking lot either.they have been in touch with the manufacturer, but they can't seem to locate any error.
I'm having a high pitch whine coming especially from the passenger side.the pitch gets louder with rpm changes.it's constantly there, as soon as the car is on, whether the car is idling, accelerating or decelerating.this whine comes from the speakers, because when i disconnected the oem bose amplifier, the noise was gone.i believe this is known as the "alternator whine"so i changed a new alternator told by the dealer, and changed to another oem bose amplifier, but the "whine" still remains.the high pitch noise is very annoying and causes migraines.
Took my car in for a oil change and after the oil change and the change of belts my car started making a noise when the heat or air was turned on.2 months later when i turned on my air condition no air was coming through.took it back to the nissan dealership and they told me that my air pressure pump had a leak in it.i could notbelieve that with a 2007 car that i would have had this problem this soon!!! nothing was done to repair my car.i over heard the two service guys say that "oh ya, that's going to take a paycheck". Not knowing that i was still listening.i feel that they did not care about me or what was going on with my car all they wanted was for me to pay for the repairs.i told them that my husband was deployed and had two small children that had asthma and the heat would trigger their asthma and on this day it was already 78 degrees.i would never use this dealership again!!!!if i have to i will take my car to another nissan dealership outside of savannah.
I have had several problems with this car...this being the latest. Since buying this vehicle brand new i have had to have the entire dashboard replaced because it warped, the radio replaced, the chrome rails on top of the car replaced and now i took my vehicle in for service because i was hearing a "chirping" noise.i then got a call back and was told that the compressor had gone bad.but it gets better as right after that i was told that nissan got a bad batch of compressors and they can't get a new one for me.but it still gets better...i was then told that if i don't replace the compressor (at a cost of over 1k) then it will fail and damage the belts, which will cause the power steering to fail as well as damaging the condenser. So i need a part that nissan says is defective so they don't have anymore of them and are waiting on a new supplier, but in addition to that if i don't get this part it will cause additional damage to the car.
On wednesday september 19, 2007 i took my car to the dealership because the check engine light was on. As the service advisor checked me in i made him aware that my service engine light was on and my car was periodically stalling. Instead of thoroughly checking my car out, being that i explained that it wasn't running right, the advisor said there were a few transmission codes but they just reset the computer. I continue to drive my car and it still periodically stalled but on friday september 28, 2007 my car began stalling and jerking so i took it back to the dealership. The technician ran a diagnostic test and the same codes from the prior weeks visit came up. They said they would need to keep my car for extensive work. However, they could not start this process until wednesday october 3, 2007, i explained to the advisor that i drove 80 miles a day to my job and would need a loaner vehicle. He said they would not provide me with a loaner vehicle because i did not purchase my car directly through them. The advisor then said the earliest they could get my car in on monday october 1, 2007. I stressed to the advisor that it was still three days away and i had to drive the car 80 miles a day. He just told me not to drive the car too much. The following monday october 1, 2007 as i left my home i could not even make it up the street in my subdivision, my car cut off, i made several attempts to start it again because i had a school bus blocked. I finally got it to the dealership. Needless to say my transmission was bad; they kept my car four days. My car has been in and out of the shop since then and it still is not right. One visit they said that i had a problem with my exhaust system so they kept it two more days. The dealership would not call in a special technician in to found out what was wrong with my car so i contacted consumer affairs. As i stated i drive 80 miles everyday and i do not feel safe driving my car.
I have had several problems with this car...this being the latest. Faulty gas gauge on 2007 nissan maxima, recall (noted in newspaper today, 4mar10) shows the same problem being recalled on my year vehicle, but not my specific model (maxima). Gas gauge shows quarter tank of gas when the tank is empty.
Changed the battery and now the fuel gage needle is now under the e pin.
We owned the car for less than one month and the service engine light comes on. Took it to the dealer and was informed that it was because the gas cap wasn't fully closed and we would be charged $100 to turn off the service light. Not only that but we were chastised because we didn't notice the warning on the gas cap that this would happen.this is unacceptable because not fully closing or leaving the gas cap off is a common mistake that any vehicle owner makes at least once. At least the service light should go off once you tighten the gas cap. We shouldn't have to go to the dealer and pay to have the light turned off. This is a safety issue because we won't go to the dealer for this type of "fix" again. What if there is a more serious problem and we are riding around with the service light on, thinking it is just the gas cap? updated 01-16-08.
I have a 2007 nissan maxima and my car shot out of a car wash and across 4 lanes of traffic and crashed into federal property.after the car was pushed from the dry option i put my foot on the brake took the car out of neutral, put it into drive and the car took off like a rocket.i had both feet on the brakes and had to use two hands to steer the car away from traffic.i had the choice of a light pole or a fence on federal property.i decided on the fence to be the least damaging.my grandson was in the car and it all happened within two minutes.i made eyecontract with drivers to my left and right and honked my horn and everyone around saw i was having a problem and they stopped.i had no brakes and i reported this to nissan and that was over two months ago and they are looking into this but i have not had a definite answer from them.i told them i need something to be done and that i feel i am driving an unsafe vehicle.they sent a contractor out twice to check it all out.the second time was for a test drive and checking the electrical system.something failed in this car and i have only this car to drive to work.i do not feel safe, i want a fix.no one has said that it can or should be fixed.the dealership is not helping me at all.
On 10/05/2015 the car started to shift funny and felt like loss of fuel on startsand turning corners.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. The contact stated that the fuel gauge failed. The contact would add fuel to the vehicle but the fuel gauge would not move. The contact was unable to determine the amount of fuel in the vehicle at all times.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection where they advised that the unified unit assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and they advised the contact that he would haveto take the vehicle to the dealer for repairs. The failure mileage was 22,000.
The contact owns 2007 nissan maxima. The contact stated the smart key lock on the drivers side door were tampered with whichcaused the driver and passenger side windows to unlock and roll down. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who will replace the switch in the door lock. The manufacturer was notified and a complaint regarding the failure was filed. The failure mileage was 70,000.
New hampshire my 2007 nissan maxima drivers side door lock will not lock or unlock unless done manually, there are major safety concerns with this ongoing problem, to name a few:1. Having a secure environment is paramount in certain neighborhoods. When locking the doors it's imperative nobody can gain access at will by walking up to the car. If anyone can simply open the door to gain access, carjacking, injury, or even murder is easier. If the doors locked properly this provides a more secure environment for this type of scenario. 2. Nissan knowing there is a security problem with their locking mechanism and not recalling them for safety concern is negligent. It's an open door to a lawsuit if someone were to be murdered due to a door that didn't lock, although the driver pushed the lock button and heard the locking noise. Remember, in this case there's no obvious indication the door isn't locked unless someone walks up and opens it from the outside. The drive "thinks" the door is locked, when in reality it's an "open door" for carjacking or robbery.3. In emergencies it's important to be able to unlock doors quickly. Since 99% of the time we all use the button to lock and unlock doors, using the manual locking lever is unfamiliar. And the murano's design is such that it's not easy to comprehend if it's not your car, for instance a rental car. I can easily understand how some people would be confused how unlock a door using the manual level in an emergency when they virtually have no experience with it. In emergencies every second counts. The locking/unlocking solenoid malfunctioning is clearly a high risk in emergency scenarios. Some people who cannot afford the $1600 to have all the solenoids replaced (as quoted by dealers) will forgo getting them fixed, putting their family members at risk with the above mishap examples. This shouldn't be, nissan should recall them.
When driving the car would loose power and not accelerate. Driving onto on ramp to highway and car would not accelerate and started to loose speed while merging. No lights came on dash or anything. Seems like the car went into limp mode or something.
The car makes a knocking sound when the engine is running. I took the car to the dealer and they stated it was the timing chain and tensioner. The cost for repair is 2500. The cvt transmission had to be replaced in august 2016.the car was jerky and then wouldn't go into any gear once i pulled it over to the side of the road.nissan knew there were problems with the cvt's - and had extended the warranty from 5 years and 50,000 miles to 10 years and 100,000 miles.the cvt in my car went at 9 years (under the 10 years) but over the 100,000 miles.since nissan knew there were problems, they should have recalled the transmissions instead of extending the warranty.it cost me over $3,000 - when it should have been handled with a recall.nissan also states that they will lower the cost of the refurbished cvt and the repairs if out of warranty - yet the price was $3,119.60.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. The contact was driving 65 mph when the speed began to decrease despite the accelerator pedal being depressed. The vehicle was towed to the contacts home and then to the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 96,500 .
While driving onto the highway from an off ramp, the power in my car failed.the rpm's were very high, but there was no power.after pressing and releasing the gas several times, the power picked up and the car drove normally.on january 3, while trying to drive 30 mph to work, the car felt as if it was shifting between gears on its own.no matter how i was pressing on the gas pedal, the car sped up and slowed down on it's own.it was very scary having the car speed up on it's own.i took the car to a mechanic and i was told that i need an entirely new transmission.the car had less than 15 miles on it when i bought it in 2007, needing a new transmission is unacceptable and having the car speed be out of control is an undoubted safety hazard.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph, vehicle speed decreased although the acceleration pedal was depressed. Also, the contact stated that the service engine soon warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000 and the current mileage was 140,200.
On 10/05/2015 the car started to shift funny and felt like loss of fuel on startsand turning corners.

The cvt trans has never worded like it should i reported it years ago i have babied this car for years they said trans was replaced but years later it was not just some parts replaced . Dont want money just want help with cvt trans
My abs/traction control system failed. Due to the system failing the vehicle transmission malfunctions. This happened while i was driving on the highway traveling at the recommended speed. Due to the abs/traction control system failing my vehicle decelerated quickly causing a unsafe environment for me, my passenger and the vehicles behind me. Fortunately the vehicles behind me was at a safe distance and no accident was caused. I had to have the vehicle towed to safe location because this malfunction causes the transmission to not shift from a low gear. This problem with my vehicle is unsafe and i have just found that it is a common problem. Yet there has been no responsible action taken by nissan. Please investigate this issue.
When driving h the vehicle had a loss of power when there was a hill and the temperature outside was less than 35 degrees fahrenheit. This has happened multiple times and has been to a nissan mechanic and was told they could not duplicate the problem. The rpms on the vehicle will bounce between 2000 to 4000 rpm or more but the vehicle will still not accelerate any further. This is very dangerous on the road. The problem is recurring and has not been fixed. The nissan mechanic said they couldn't do anything until there was a code sensor to look at. We were also informed to buy new tires with the thinking that might be the problem.
I had to replace my transmission jan 2018 with no assistance from nissan. Not even a break on replacement pricing. 2007 maxima with 78000 not driven hard or on the highway for very long until 2 years ago. Now the replacement transmission is whining and fluctuation in rpm's. Last month i was pulling into a shopping center across 3 lanes and my car accelerated to 2-3 miles and hour and no faster. I was thankful i left a lot of room otherwise this would have been a nasty accident. I only have 7000 mile on the replacement transmission and it needs to be replaced again. Nissan consumer affairs was not helpful at all, the lady i spoke with seems quite indifferent in our conversation. I'm sure she gets a lot of angry calls. I spoke with a transmission repair shop that told me these transmissions fail all of the time even the replacement transmission. Price gouging and selling bad parts just to increase their profit margins knowing no intervention will happen.
Car jerks transmission slips, it happens all the time... Except at speeds 55 or higher.nissan would not fix the car..i just missed the extended warranty mileage andthey will not stand by theproduct.
Car after warmedupis getting stuck infirst gear, hadback to dealer and they could not trigger the problem, hookedup computer and can not get an error code so they callednissan usa and wasadvised toreplace the computerprogram that tells thetransmission to shift,i hadthecar back forthree daysandsameproblem, broughtright back to dealership, they had for another two weeks and i just received acall that they can notduplicate the problem tocomepick it up,as soon as i drove out of thedealership thecar would notshift into second gear its hung up in first and thenmy abs were acting up sounded like they were dragging on the groundbroughtright back to dealerthey havehad thecar for27 daysand stillcan'tfigureout what's wrong.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima.the vehicle has anintelligent key.the vehicle was turned off, but it automatically continued running and began to roll.the dealer diagnosed the cause of failure as the transmission.themanufacturer stated that the vehicle could be traded back, but not for the full price.the current mileage is 4,200 and failure mileage was 3,300.
I took my car in to the dealership due to all of my warning lights coming on.upon putting it on the lift, they showed me where the underside was significant rust that caused the tire & brake sensors to fall off the struts.additionally, the floor pans were completely rusted out with holes, which can cause my feet to crash through the floorboards causing an accident or carbon dioxide poisoning.i have researched the many problems reported online regarding rusted floor pans and believe the nhtsa should force nissan to provide a recall to get these items fixed.i understand rust is not a standard reason for nhtsa to be involved, but will it take my death to have you regulate & resolve this issue?

I was driving my car on an average day. As i made a right turn, ahead of oncoming traffic, i tried to accelerate and my car would not accelerate above 20-30mph. With traffic swiftly approaching at speeds near 40-50mph, luckily, i was able to pull into a nearby gas station.none of my check engine/warning lights were on.i turned the car off and started it back up but the issue remained.when i tried to accelerate the car wouldn't o over 30mph and was making a heaving vibration noise every time i stopped. I was able to get the car to a nissan dealership who ultimately recommended the repairs outlined in the service bulletin. My warranty company denied the claim "citing water damage", but the bulletin lists the pfp (primary failed part) as the "housing assy- rear axle,rh" (which should have been covered). I bought the vehicle used (from a nissan dealer) and because the manufacturers warranty had expired i was forced to pay for the repairs ($1,000+) on a vehicle that i barley had for 1 year. I contacted nissan consumer affairs (as recommended by the dealership) to try and get some type of assistance with this issue. They basically told me its not their problem since the nissan warranty had expired on the vehicle. Nissan is very well aware of this defect that is a severe safety concern due to the obvious design. I luckily had time and space to move my vehicle safely off the road; the next person may not be as lucky. Nissan should and needs to be held responsible for the overall safety of their all vehicles and this ongoing defect. A recall should be mandated to correct this potential hazard while driving. A life is far more valuable than recall expenses. The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. The contact was driving 25 mph when the vehicle decreased acceleration to 20 mph without warning and despite that the accelerator pedal was being depressed. The vehicle has no power between 20-45 mph. Abs, slip, tcs off and brake lights are now on. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the dealer confirmed that the rr and lr abs sensor failed, hub assemblies needed to be replace and the absactuator now needs replacement at a near total cost of $3300. The manufacturer was contacted but the vehicle was not repaired. The vin was available. The failure occurred at mileages 63,270.
2007 nissan maxima has issue with abs engaging causing transmission to go into a limp/safe mode which does not allow you to accelerate even when gas pedal is floored.on left turn almost t-bone because of this defect which is well documented since 2004.vehicle was in motion on roadway 45 mph.recall needed people are going to get killed if they haven't already.
I was driving my children to daycare this morning when i noticed my brakes making a funny noise and sound. I could hear a clicking sound from the front, drivers side wheel, and the car began to shake as i tried to come to a stop. I immediately took the car to my local nissan dealership where they told me the abs actuator needed to be replaced. At a cost of $1,600. After doing my own online research i found that there are hundreds of maxima owners out there with the same problem. This has got to be a nissan defect. Its terrible that nissan can put out a bad product and make the consumer cover the cost out of pocket!

Car abs system has failed with only 19400 miles..warranty is 5 years, car is 6 years old.. Repair is $2500.. Contacted nissan and got no consideration for the repair.
Front end jiggles or shakes during driving and stopping .
I first took my 07 maxima in to the dealership oct 2010 because the car lost engine power when it was cold outside.they had it for about a week and finally decided the car needed a rear wheel sensor and a larger hole ground in the rear "knuckle" to let moisture and salt out.this cost me $807 and they assured me this was not a common problem and the car was fixed.it is now feb 2011 and the car is back in the shop.the diagnosis is 2 more wheel sensors need replaced and now it also needs a abs actuator. Total bill $2500. When this problem is occurring the car loses power which is probably not a bad idea cause the brake pedal goes down to the floor while growling and acting like it is sliding on ice.nissan knows there is a problem with these cars as i know they issued a service bulletin to grind some openings in the plastic cover to let moisture out.they will not issue a recall though.i have seen many of these complaints for 2006 maximas.
After leaving home & driving 1 mile the car would not accelerate to highway speed and had difficulty going over 30 mph. At just over 40 mph the engine was running at over 4,500 rpm. Not wanting to risk driving the car on the highway to the nearestnissan dealer (20+ mi.), i made an appointment with a shop closer to home. When i drove to the shop it was difficult to maintain any speed over 40 mph and the car slowed to under 25 mph going up an incline. Half way to the shop, approx. 4 miles, several warning lights lit up on the dash. At the shop the mechanic said that the abs brake system was showing a problem with the right rear sensor, after talking to the nissan dealer where i bought the car it was decided that the right rear abs sensor should be replaced. That was done but it did not solve the problem. More phone calls were made and the consensus was that the abs actuator (control unit) needed to be replaced. The nissan dealer indicated that abs brake system problems are common with this vehicle. A failure of such a critical part in the abs brake system would be very dangerous at highway speeds.. This was an expensive repair and the abs system control unit is something that should last the life of the vehicle. With a vehicle with just over 50,000 miles, it seems like there is a design or manufacturing problem here.
The contact owns a 2007nissan maxima. While the contact was driving, the vehicle failed to accelerate over 30 mph and when the brakes were applied there was excessive vibration. In addition, the abs and traction control system warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The warning indicators remained illuminated until the engine was turned off. The contact was able to continue driving cautiously to his residence and upon arrival the vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated the abs actuator and both rear brake sensors would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and was taken an independent mechanic; however they advised for that type of repair the vehicle be taken back to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and they were unable to provide assistance. The failure mileage was 54,000.updated 01/30/12
We bought a new 2007 maxima in 5/07.at 26,425 miles (almost 2 years old), the front rotors needed replaced because they were warped and thin.now, another 25,804 miles (and almost 2 years after the first replacement) the same problem has occurred.they tried to blame it on hard braking and/or driving steep hills regularly; which is not accurate.rotors should not fail with low miles.we have a 20 year old car that we replaced the rotors once.i searched the web for similar complaints and found allworldauto.com.on their web site, there were numerous complaints about the maxima rotors.i believe that this problem is under reported by consumers and the company.the company should not be getting away with this.
2007 nissan maxima. Abs actuates during acceleration and normal braking no lights on constantly.
Clicking and popping when i make a turn or go over a bump.brakes squeak sometimes when driving.i took the car to a nissan dealer and it was driving worst than before.thecar started pulling to the right.
I experienced a complete brake failure resulting from failure of the master brake cylinder on my 2007 nissan maxima with only 48,000 miles. Fortunately, the failure occurred while backing out of the service bay at kal tire located in ladner bc, canada. It was necessary to employ the parking brake to stop the vehicle. Because i reside in point roberts wa, i could not take the risk of driving 45 miles to the nearest nissan dealer located in bellingham wa. Ladner is only 5 or 6 miles from point roberts wa.had i ran the maxima down i-5 down to bellingham wa, this complete brake failure would have been lethal when driving at stated expressway speed limits of 70 mph. The failure of a master brake valve at 48,000 miles is unprecedented in my 50 years of driving experience. I have requested the valve be held for analysis and i will be happy to mail it to you for your perusal should you wish to diagnose it. This valve not covered under the 36,000 mile warranty, per the nissan dealer located in bellingham wa.i conclude this communication by expressing my concerns regarding the relative safety of this master brake cylinder. It is not unreasonable to state lives are at stake in this matter.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. While driving approximately 10 mph, the vehicle began to decrease in power. He released the accelerator pedal and when depressing it a second time, the failure recurred. The contact assumed the vehicle was out of fuel, yet the failure corrected itself. The contact stated that the failure would occur often.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the dealer advised him that the abs sensor would need replacing. In addition, both knuckles and the hub would need modification.the dealer disabled the abs system. The failure mileage was 69,000 and the current mileage was 69,966.
I was at a nissan dealership getting a new intelli-key made for the car when the steering wheel lock broke. I found out this would be the third time this locking mechanism has been replaced on this car alone. The technician turned the steering wheel to the right and the lock broke and locked into place. How many times does the same part have to break on a nissan before you consider it to be a bad part? the steering lock was recalled before it left the factory, replaced 2 times over the next 7 years. The steering lock is not a part that fails because it is repeatedly used or because of too many miles, it is caused by a poor quality part!once again this is the 3rd time this part has been replaced on this vehicle, i have had 18 cars over the last 30 years and i have never had a steering lock fail.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. While driving in reverse approximately 5 mph, there was a complete loss in the power steering for a period of one minute. The failure occurred during cold weather temperatures. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on two separate occasions for the similar defect and they were unable to duplicate the problem each time. The manufacturer was not notified of the malfunction. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
Hear a clicking noise when making turns.i took it into the dealer and they could not find anything.i was told they tighten the steering.i was close to my factory warranty expiring.it lasted until 3 months later and the clicking is back.i was told i would be charged to look at since it is out of warranty.

2007 nissan maxima.consumer writes in regards to corrosion in the floor boards, on both the driver's and passenger side.
Floor pans under both the drivers and front passenger seat are completely rusted out.

The floor boards on m/v are rotting. It is a known issue, nissan has been aware and never told the buying public. Please force a recall to fix issue. My nissan only has 54k for mileage and has been well taken care of. Discovered the issue as a result of having struts and break work done to the car.
Passengers side front floor pan rusted through as if car is 40 years old.not only is this a body frame defect but a safety issue. Hundreds of on line forums note the problem is obvious and nissan refuses to admit design defect.this defect justifies a recall for repair otherwise value of vehicle has been significantly diminished. See:http://maxima.org/forums/6th-generation-maxima-2004-2008/655476-floor-pan-rust-anyone.html.
I took my nissan in for a routine oil change at pep boys and was immediately notified of rust on the floor boards on both sides of the car. It was brought to my attention that the driver side is becoming a safety issue and can fail at any time due to the severity of the problem. I notified my local nissan dealership and was given a quote for the repairs. I forwarded said quote to consumer affairs at nissan of north america and was later notified that the manufacture declined any solution to my problem. It has come to my attention that many cars of the same make and model have the same exact issue. It has been reported before both with the nhtsa as well as the bbb. If it is a prevalent problem the manufacturer should take responsibility for the defect and try to repair all issues before people are hurt. The repairs are extensive, labor consuming and expensive.
The driver side floorboard has began to rust thru as a result of a hole left during manufacturing. This seems to be a defect (since it is not on the passenger side).as a result of the hole water and salt have began to rust through the driver side floorboard.my vehicle was taken to a dealer whom took pictures and sent to nissan.nissan's response was the vehicle is out of warranty and it is a result of being in an area hat uses salt during winter.fortunately it looks like the rust was detected before it reached the driver side seat which would cause a safety issue (especially during an accident).one does not expect a floorboard to rust thru on a seven year old vehicle with low mileage.

The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. The contact stated that the front passenger side floorboard was rotted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the floorboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.
I was changing the oil on my maxima and noticed both drivers and passengers floor boards almost totally rusted through. This is a very dangerous due to safety of both driver and passengers. After looking through the complaint section of this website it seems to be a very common problem that nissan should need to recall.
Driver's side and passenger's side floor pans rusted out.rest of the undercarriage is fine.understand from internet search that this has occurred in other nissan vehicles since at least the 2004 models.dealer indicates that this is a problem "about which they have heard" but there are no recalls or service bulletins issued by nissan.
The floor pans are starting to rot out on my nissan maxima. This is clearly a manufacturing defect as there are numerous other owners reporting the exact same issue with their nissan maximas. A safety recall should be implemented to replace the floor pans in these cars. There is absolutely no reason why a 7 year old car should be rotting to this extent.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. While the vehicle was undergoing maintenance by an independent mechanic, the mechanic noticed that the front driver side floor panel was rotting. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
Drivers floor board structure is rusted out, i do not feel safe letting my wife drive this car.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. When i brought my car to the mechanic to fix the brakes, he did notice that the floor panel had a huge hole due rust.this was in the driver and passenger's side.his comment was: "the amount of rust on the floor panel is such that it could have an impact in the safety of the vehicle.this is a safety issue due the fact that the rust has compromised the structure of the vehicle."the mechanic and myself came to the conclusion that the rust is because of the poor quality of the metal part on the metal panel.a 7 year old car shouldn't have this kind of problem.i drove a nissan maxima all the way to250,000 miles and the floor panel didn't show any sign of rust.what is the proper steps i must take so to request from nissan maxima to cover the repair?should this car's condition have a recall mandate from the nhtsa?your help with this matter will be appreciated.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. The contact stated that one of the bolts that held the drivers seat corroded. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who decided to put a piece of sheet metal where the rust was located as a temporary remedy. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included on any recalls and advised the contact to reach out to nhtsa. The failure and current mileage was 90,000.
Rusting floorboards both driver and passenger sides.
While driving on the interstate i felt an explosion and nearly lost control of my blood pressure, and i suffer from hyper-tension. The moon roof exploded and i had no idea what had happened.i looked around to see if a gun had been pointed at me because the sound was similar and the impact to the car felt as though it had been hit by an object.the cover over the moon roof was closed so that prevented any glass from entering and cutting me.i pulled off at the next exit to find a gapping hole, shattered glass on the roof and my heart beating rapidly.once i got home i taped the roof and by the time i got to the repair shop the next day the pressure caused the roof to reopen and continue to break.i contacted nissan to see if this vehicle was under recall and they said no.the cost was my expense.now i do not open the shade at all for fear of this happening again resulting in injury.i live in a very hot and humid and rainy climate and when this occured the temperature was in the 70's, and the time of day was approx 6:45pm.i asked the glass company had they had any customers in with this problem and they affirmed.the moon roof glass was ordered and shipped directly to the glass company and my car was out of commission for a few days.the moon roof does not open at all, it was designed that way.if a safety notice had been attached i more than likely would not have purchased this type of vehicle.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima.the contact stated that there was corrosion present and a hole located on the driver side floorboard.the vehicle had been taken to dealer for a diagnosis and stated they would have to eject the driver's seat from the vehicle, weld new medal to cover the hole and put an under coating on the weld new medal.the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.the approximate failure mileage was 74,000.
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. While the vehicle was at the mechanic, the technician diagnosed that the floor pan needed to be replaced due to corrosion. The failure happened without warning. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 200,000.
Took car to the garage for inspection.it did not pass due to rust under driver's and passenger's side floor boards.they told me the rest of the car was in perfect condition and that they believed it might be a manufacturing defect.the amount of rust is far beyond what an 8 year old car should have.contacted nissan but they told me the rust warranty is only covered for 3 years/36,000 miles and it is too far out of warranty for them to do anything about it.
Took my 2007 maxima in for routine oil change and my mechanic gave me the bad news, since he last saw it 6 months ago thepassenger side and drivers side floor pans are rusted out .placed a claim with nissan consumer affairs in tennessee, they asked me to take it to the dealer to be looked at and then they determined that they would do nothing for me, but indicated that the dealer might fix for a lot less than quote i got from my repair shop. Since then the dealer has indicated that they need to talk to nissan consumer affairs. I have called both parties several times and an definitely getting the run around. Both nissan and the dealer are very aware of this problems as they have been many incidents of rust . I have owned nothing bu nissan's for 20 years, one i had for over 12 years with no rust problems ( it was a 1995) i traded it in for this car . I garage my car and have it washed regularly. It is in great shape.i am so disappointed in nissan that i don't think i will ever own another one.
I thought a leaf was hanging from below my car when parked. It turned out that the floorboard is completelycorroded through to the inside of the vehicle on the drivers side. I have taken my car to the nissan dealership since purchased in late 2006. They explained that it would cost between $2,000 to $3,000 to get repaired.i have only had the car for 9 years and much of this time it parked in the garage during the winter. I was sure damage was not a expected deterioration based on normal use. This was confirmed later by researching on line and seeing other complaints.
While vehicle was in shop i was alerted to the fact both front boards were rusted through to the ground.
I took my car in to my mechanic at city auto repair to balance my tires and my mechanic found that underneath my car on my driver's side is rusting out and has a hole in it.there is apparently water coming in the car from somewhere and rusting out the floor pan on the driver's side of the car.i googled this problem and there are many complaints about this problem with maxima's and altima's.nissan just did a recall for this exact problem, but only recalled suv's.it's a fire hazard because the electrical harness can short out and cause a fire.i would ask that any and all nissan cars (not just suv's) be recalled for this problem.i also contacted nissan about this problem and they refused to take responsibility for this problem and refused to pay for repair of the problem.
Clicking and popping when i make a turn or go over a bump.brakes squeak sometimes when driving.i took the car to a nissan dealer and it was driving worst than before.thecar started pulling to the right.
Hear a clicking noise when making turns.i took it into the dealer and they could not find anything.i was told they tighten the steering.i was close to my factory warranty expiring.it lasted until 3 months later and the clicking is back.i was told i would be charged to look at since it is out of warranty.
Front end jiggles or shakes during driving and stopping .
The floor boards on m/v are rotting. It is a known issue, nissan has been aware and never told the buying public. Please force a recall to fix issue. My nissan only has 54k for mileage and has been well taken care of. Discovered the issue as a result of having struts and break work done to the car.
The problem on the transmission the car won't accelerate beyond 40mphthrow the rpm can't go high all the way
I am not sure if the problem really exist. The resulting diagnosis is based on a faint whine detected by the technician (while stationary) and a definite determination can only be made by a physical examination of the timing guide. To do this would require removing parts. But when those parts are removed the guide and chain will need replacing even if they are not defective. Nissan has known about the problem dating back to the 2004 model and no definitive diagnostic method is available that will not cost the owner a repair that is some times unnecessary.
When driving the car would loose power and not accelerate. Driving onto on ramp to highway and car would not accelerate and started to loose speed while merging. No lights came on dash or anything. Seems like the car went into limp mode or something.

I was driving my car on an average day.as i made a right turn, ahead of oncoming traffic, i tried to accelerate and my car would not accelerate above 20-30mph.with traffic swiftly approaching at speeds near 40-50mph, luckily, i was able to pull into a nearby gas station.none of my check engine/warning lights were on.i turned the car off and started it back up but the issue remained.when i tried to accelerate the car wouldn't o over 30mph and was making a heaving vibration noise every time i stopped.
Abs sensor problems . Vehicle will not accelerate.

Abs/speed sensor/controller failure - driving home on the highway going 65 mph the car slowed to 25 & wouldn't go over.could have caused an accident.later found out rr sensor went out from tech.replaced, still didn't work.bought new abs controller (very expensive)! still not working. Then bought new rr hub. No dice. Went to buckeye nissan, they wanted to charge me another $4000 to replace all the parts again and a few we didn't!bought hub for lr and solved problem.well we thought.a month later, it is now doing it again.the car won't go over 25 but this time no lights.getting grinding from brakes like it did when controller went out.better not be going out again.paid a lot of money to get this car fixed and now a few weeks later we are having the same problems.all were dealer parts new.not cheap and then the dealership wanted to rip me off more to replace parts that were new.this was my third and final nissan i will ever buy and will tell my church friends and family!!nissan won't make it right, it is their problem.they should issue a recall, i am a member of several nissan forums and this problem is huge.nissan take care of your customers!!!

To ntsb:i purchased and installed replacement wiper blades for this vehicle, they were installed per the enclosed instructions... Once the wipers were used during a recent rain event, it was evident that a problem with the new wiper blades was occurring. I had the wipers inspected by the auto parts store sales person and he confirmed my findings... There was a design problem with the wiper blade assembly, a 1/2" offset in the mounting that cause the wiper blade on the driver side to strike the windshield trim with full force, actually bending the metal trim, so another set of wiper blades were needed, due to the interference issues. Here is most of my letter to trico, please read...to trico products:i want to express my concerns over the trico sentry replacement wiper blades that i purchased at my local o'reilly auto parts store last year. The specified part number for the drivers side of my girlfriends 2007 nissan maxima( #32-260 ) did not perform as it should...the passenger side was not an issue, here is the issue:when the wipers were running, the driver side wiper was hitting the widow post, and there was a very loud banging noise that was so loud that was just crazy! this noise was only heard once the wipers were running... And of course we are in the middle of a major drought, because it hasn't rained in southern california in like forever... The trico sentry wiper on the drivers side actually put scratches and dents on the window trim.this problem / issue happens because of a .500 inch offset in the wiper blade mounting... This 1/2" offset, is what i would call a design flaw in this case. It's all about safety ! and this problem may / will eventually lead to a wiper failure...regards [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'
The contact owns a 2007 nissan maxima. While driving approximately 45 mph,the sun roof exploded and pieces of glass fell inside the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 206,000. Updated 7/16/15
