I just recently had a recall on my 2001 maxima concerning the air-bag i had the work performed at the dealer, 2 months later the same flashing air-bag light comes on. I just wanted to know was it fixed are they just did something to cover up. Are there any consumers experiencing the same problem as me, i took it back to dealer they said it was some kind of circuit module had a defect. Should this had been what they needed to fix the first time.

He further advised the air bag would not function correctly even with the new replacement part installed. But, for an out-of-pocket fee of $100, he would have his shop mechanic do a complete inspection of the system and determine why the air bag system continued to be dysfunctional and why the air bag dashboard lights continued to flash. When the consumer entered the vehicle, he found 3 wires hanging below the glove box, in plain view and the air bag light still flashing. Recall # 13v136000.

I see on your website my model year 2001 nissan maximawas recalled for air bags. I have never been notified that there was a recall for the air bags. Also there was a recall on the suspension control arm transverse link pins. I don't ever remember seeing a recall for that either
I was at a red light, when it turned green i pushed the gas pedal and it would go. I had to use extreme force for the car to go. Ever since february 2014, its been happening every day. I'm scared the gas pedal's going to get stuck and ill crash.when i turn i hear a knocking noise coming from the tire/suspension.

Cpst checking car seats found latch anchor on 2001 nissan maxima to have unusually long sides (? 3cm).latch hooksfrom child restraint had migrated to the side portion of the anchors.not sure if this is a problem or not, but the first time i have seen it.
Nothing but problems since the vehicle was purchases new in '01. From replacing the alternator, strong shutter in breaks even after replacing twice and needs again, replaced rear oxygen sensors twice with now a third needed, replaced mass air flow sensor, and now vehicle is out of commission due to needing a new computer system, idle speed control sensor, and rear o2 sensors(again)! also a leaking power steering pump and power window motors are near death. I understand wear and tear on a vehicle but this is an extreme case! potential epa issues due to the oxygen sensors failing time after time.
The "check engine soon" light is on. A local nissan dealer found one ignition coil failed. The dealer suggested to replace all the coils since they will fail one by one soon. I had to replace all the 6 coils at the price of ~$800. This apparently is a defect of the manufacturer.
7/6/06 smelled strange odor 30 minutes later my 2001 nissan maxima lost total power in the fast lane, all gauges went to zero, heard a hissing sound as i dodged trucks going by at 80 mph as i coasted to the right shoulder.i opened the hood and the battery was squirting fluid out of all the vent caps.i called the nearest dealer in wilkes-barre, pa and they told me they couldn't even look at the car for a week!i made the decision to tow it to brenner nissan in mechanicsburg,pa(90 miles, $346 tow bill).they made an initial inspection 7/7 and determined i have an electrical problem!i have gathered information on nissan maxima problems and will meet with the dealer 7/10 to determine how this problem will be diagnosed without incurring $1000's in service charges.they seemed unwilling to replace the battery and then see what else was broke.
Problems with electrical components (airbag light)/o2 sensors/alternator/startups.
Service engine soon indicator- misfire-coil packs nissan repair directive is to replace all six coil packs whether good or not. These failed at 48k miles. Very expensive $600, $350 for labor and should be recalled by nissan. They are making the consumer pay for their design flaws never buying a nissan again..
Check engine light continues to come on. Identified that the idle control valve and gasket need to be replaced. Identified also that ecm is now burned out.
2001 nissan maxima exhibiting difficulty starting 3-4 times, then dying at idle. Then it would start, but die when put in gear. We had it towed to dealer - they say "bad engine mounts" caused the wiring harness to short out, destroying it, the ecm, and the iac valve. They quote 3875 to repair, and say that sometimes when this happens the air fuel meter needs replacing too. From reading other reports, i doubt the "bad engine mounts" story. This sounds like an issue that has happened identically on this make/model year. We also have unexplained abs and traction control warning lights, that came on simultaneously a few months ago along with the check engine light. They replaced the air fuel meter which fixed the engine light. I suspect the harness was deteriorated then, caused the afm to fail and the phony warning lights, and now it has deteriorated further. Car has been well maintained, serviced regularly, dealer said nothing about engine mounts when in for the afm replacement a few months ago. We did not have a fire, and when the car died in traffic we got the police there quickly to control traffic, but only after several near rear-end collisions. As a known issue with risk of fire or accident, this should be escalated.
We own a 2001 nissan maxima, which we purchased new from a nissan dealer.it has, on 3 occasions, experienced a problem with "surging"/high revving.*dtthe cause in every case has been a part known as an "idle air control valve" (iacv), which fails and in doing so, causes the "ecm" (the "engine computer") to fail.we have discovered that hitachi is the sole source for the iacv, whether the part is obtained from a nissan dealer or any other source under any other brand.this issue is apparently a particularly well-known issue with this model series of vehicle, both nissan and infiniti.the first time the vehicle had this issue, it was under warranty and was supposedly repaired by nissan.however, the same issue has recurred on 2 subsequent occasions, and both times nissan has wholly failed to address the issue.we have repeatedly attempted to address this issue with nissan, including, but not limited to, nissan consumer relations, nissan's vp of customer satisfaction, the "executive offices" escalation department, etc., all with no substantive response from nissan beyond their stating that since the vehicle is no longer under warranty, it isn't nissan's problem.however, it should be noted that in this latest occurrence, nissan initially stated that their refusal to address this issue was due to our allegedly having installed "an aftermarket ecm" (we had not).however, when the nissan dealer confirmed to nissan that the ecm was in fact a factory nissan part, and we discovered that there is no such thing as "an aftermarket ecm," nissan then refused to correct this situation.from our layperson's investigation of this issue, it appears to be a design flaw in the circuitry, and is generally widely known in the repair industry, by enthusiasts, major auto reviewing companies, etc.therefore, it seems that nissan's claim to not know of this issue is disingenuous at best.*dt
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima se. The contact was driving 65 mph when the vehicle lost power as the engine started to smoke. The vehicle coasted to a complete stop but was restarted later and then taken to the dealer. The contact stated that the failure was a recurring issue and the dealer had previously made repairs to the idle air control valve and the wiring for the idle control valve, to no avail. The vehicle was not further repaired and the failure persisted. The current and failure mileage was 73,000.
We owned a 2001 nissan maxima for 2 1/2 years.we put an alternative on it and then on dec 23, 2005 we smelled smoke inside of the car sitting in our garage.car would turn over but not fire. The mechanic said the computer had burned up on the car & had burned out numerous relays and sensors.the check engine light had been on for 3 months. The dealer checked it and said it was an o2 sensor. We replaced the upper intake, lower intake, gaskets, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel presser switch, o2 sensors, a computer.(all the above are nissan dealer parts!!) the computer still would not maintain the codes for it to pass inspection so we bought a new computer from nissan. The dealer flashed the computer and burned the new computer up in his dealership & now claims we owe him for the new computer also.we haven't even driven it off the lot & have spent $3000 just in parts not including the purchase of the car.the salisbury nissan dealer will not send the computer back to nissan & will not warranty the new computer & my car has been in the shop since dec 23, 2005. Today is 5/31/06.i will never buy another nissan.
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima. While driving 65 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated as he noticed smoke coming from the center console.the dealer advised the contact that the auto air control valve failed and caused the computer to burn.the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure.the vehicle was taken to a private mechanic who confirmed that the auto air control valve failed.the vehicle was not repaired.the current and failure mileages were 109,000.updated 07/21/11updated 07/29/11
The 2001 nissan maxim ecu burned up without any warning.when the check engine light came on and was check it did not indicate any code.there should be a fuse that would prevent this from happening.this is a very expensive repair.
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima. While driving approximately 35 mph the vehicle suddenly stalled. The contact noticed that the check engine light illunimated prior to the vehicle stalling. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanicinformed the contact the computer needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 148,000.
2001 maxima 20th anniversary edition.had to replace all three oxygen sensorsin the last two years and recently the mass air flow sensor.the bose radio blew up recently.the radio blew up while driving on my way to work.popping sounds then smoke filled my car and with an awful odor also replaced front wheel bearings on passenger side twice within 3 months.replaced wheel bearings on front drivers' side .
Approx 1 mo ago my battery and brake light would light intermittently with no mechanical effect noted.the battery and alternator tested good and the cause was unknown.then one day on the highway with cruise control at 75 mph the lights came on.several minutes later the cruise control shut off by itself and the abs light came on and the airbag light began flashing.during slowing to exit the the highway all the instrument panels began 'bouncing' with unstable readings and the engine seemed as if it was going to die.i exited to the shoulder of the highway and put the car in park and turned the car off.the car required a jumpto restart it.i replaced the battery since one cell was partially bad.nonetheless, the battery and brake light have come on again.nissan indicates a new alternator is required on the car at 3 years old and 45,700 miles.
Vehicle wasn't part of the recall regarding the suspension due to the vin, but experienced the problem stated on the recall. *la the vehicle had to get a realignment, the bottom cover was loose and the vehicle constantlypulled to the right/left and there was an alternator problem where the battery did not charge.the consumer requested assistance with getting the vehicle fully checked since the problems encountered occurred during the warranty period.recall#02v146000. *sc
Recently the "check engine soon" light came on. I took it to a nissan dealership service department. They ran a diagnostic testand said one coil failed but they recommended replacing all six ignition coils, because the other ones will fail one by one soon.
Highway driving, car jerks and sputters, could cause a crashses light came on, car idles rough, car stallsreplaced all 6 ignitioncoils, problem recurred a few days later.
Car running rough. Service engine soon light on. Took to dealer, told that (1) ignition coil bad but have to replace all (6) per nissan repair directive. Research shows this to be a common problem wit 01 maxima, nissan issued tsb, but no recall.
I have read many horrific stories about peoples ignition coils going bad....i have a feeling my coils are headed for doom soon. I have a 2001 maxima gle, love the car, but nissan really needs to do a recall on this. Just because of this and many other problems i've had, i don't think i would ever buy a nissan again. Go honda!!
Check engine light comes over ever 5 months. Every time its a cylinder misfire because of one or more ignition coils.this started happening since 40,000 miles. When a engine misfires the car sputters and the ces light comes on. This just keeps happening and i've spent over $2000 for just this same issue. The incident date posted is the last time this happened but this has been happening since 2004.
I have had a continuous problem with my 2001 nissan maxima cold start sensor and the dealer says no recall has been issued.has anyone else reported this problem?also, i was never sent a recall for the suspension, control arm: lower arm.is it to late to have this replaced?why was i not contacted or why dealer didn't notify me?what can i do because my front end is making noises?
Consumer turned off engine and noticed smoke, the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was determined that the wire on the electronic motor mount wiring caught onfire and burned.
The truck was parked and caught on fire. The fire was coming from the engine compartment.driver was able to extinguishthe fire. No injuries reported. Driver contacted the dealer for an appointment.
I have a complaint about a 2001 nissan maxima that had an electrical short in its wiring harness that completely destroyed theecm (electronic control module) and throttle body injection systemcausing the car to stall under 1700 rpms this caused the car to stall athighway speeds when rpms dropped below the stated thresholdi have looked at the nhtsas service bulletins and complaint bulletins and these wiring harness shorts seem to be a consistent problem with nissans vehicles especially the maxima model and also fire related shorts.i spoke with nissans complaint division and they just said due to miles its out of warranty and not their problem.after looking at various web sites dedicated to nissan problems this is an ongoing problem even the service manager said that normally the alternator burns out before the ecm with these wiring shortsbut said i was one of the unlucky ones, the last i heard wiring harnesses are suppose to be strapped down and not moving and properly wrapped and insulated so vibration does no wear through but apparently nissan does not think so. I feel that this is a design defect and safety defect that nhtsa should look at.. Also i am stuck with a nineteen hundred dollar bill from the dealer to fix the problem needless to say i am not happy.your attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.simcerelyjeff nelsonnissan ref no.##4951395
While driving, consumer smelled smoke, consumer then pulled over and liftedhood and found heavy smoke and wires burning, consumer cut off engine and burning stopped, then called aaa.
Control for heat & a/c refused to work. There was n heat in the car and a/c light stayed on. Dealer allegedly repaired same and it lasted a few minutes and heat went off again. Currently situation is reversed i now have heat but no a/c. Complained to nissan on 11/11/03 - complaint #4329371, & 4/29/04 complaint #4521901

Check engine light keeps coming on, had to replace idle control module twice for 500.00 each time because engine diagnosis indicated failure. Car does not start right away, had to press pedal lightly to restart even after idle control fixed.failed smog check, discovered catalytic converter failed, had to replace for 800.00further diagnosis: ignition coilnumber 4 and air flow meter failed, serviceman said this is rather common with maxima.
The lower radiator support bar and surrounding lower structure started rusting away after about 4-5 years from new.the lower radiator support is now almost entirely gone.the dealer quoted $5400 to repair. I was told by the service rep that if/when the core support let go, the engine could fall causing a wreck.
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the cam shaft and crank shaft part needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. No further details were available. The vin was not included nhtsa campaign number: 03v455000 (engine and engine cooling system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.
The lower radiator support beam rusted out causing the engine support to brake free from the beam. Now the entire lower support beam needs to be replaced at an extremely high cost of labor and parts. This is a common problem according to all the car websites and the youtube videos showing how to change out the beam. I do not see any recalls for this. For as many people who seem to have had this problem it should have been recalled. People were having this problem 5 yrs ago according to the videos and reports. According to the body shop this is a major problem and they have seen a lot of this type of corrosion issues with this nissan model and year. According to what i have been told a very serious accident can occur while driving this vehicle if the beam breaks while in motion at high speed. There are still a large number of this year and make on the street and no warnings have been given to the public.
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima. The contact stated that the front control arm and motor mount failed. The contact also stated that the power steering assist failed. The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph, the engine unexpectedly stalled without warning when driving from a complete stop. The vehicle restarted and resumed normal function. The similar failure occurred continuously. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. Engine codes po 420 and po 174.
My car seemed to not be getting enough gas and numerous lights including check engine are on.my local repair shop could only figure out it was one of the coils but told me nissan would be able to tell me which one so i would not have to replace all of them.after bringing my car to nissan i am now told i need to replace all the coils since they are defective.nissan should be responsible for this repair.
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima. The contact stated that while inspecting the vehicle, he noticed that the lower radiator tie bar was rusted. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 121,000.
Check engine light illuminated intermittently. Consumer had the computer reset at 36000 miles. Vehicle had 70000 miles on it, but problem continued. Consumer contacted the dealer. However, problem recurred.
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima.at 55 mph the vehicle suddenly shut off.the vehicle was towed to a local mechanic, who diagnosed the failure as the mass air flow sensor.the replacement part was ordered from the dealer, but the new sensor also failed.the diagnostic test showed that the sensor needed to be reprogrammed.the contact towed the vehicle to the dealer, who stated that the engine motor mountsshort-circuited the aac which caused it to blow.once the aac failed the electric shock blew out the emc.in order to properly repair the vehiclethe contact must pay almost $3,000.the contact stated that when the keywas put in the ignition and the accelerator pedaldepressed the vehicle operated normally.however, as soon as the pedal was released the car shut off again.the current and failure mileages were 100,000.
My service engine comes on every week. I have to put it in the shop all the time and the steering keeps pulling to the right
Service engine light stays on approximately 70% of the time.purchased car in nov 2000.*la
Engine wiring harness has broken causing engine to misfire.took to dealer and they said this happens all the time.want $700 to fix and from research it appears it often breaks again.
Driving to work on the freeway and the car bucked and randomly accelerated and idled high.later found out that the iac valve had antifreeze that leaked through a gasket causing it to short out.shortly after also discovered that the valve shorting out ($200 part) cause the ecm to short out.after labor and parts this turns a $200 repair into over a $2000 repair and causes for unsafe driving due to the erratic idle and surging at the time when the valve shorts out.
While driving 70 mph engine check light came on. Vehicle started to run rough and hesitated. Vehicle was taken to the dealer, anddealer inspected and diagnosed the vehicle with the following problems: bothrear oxygen sensor needed to be replaced, the ecm needed to be reprogrammed, and both front and rear engine mounts were weak, and needed to be replaced. Also, manufacturer was notified.replace two motor mounts and two rear oxygen sensors.
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima.while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and then immediately restarted.the dealer stated that the air control valve needed to be replaced at the cost of $550.the contact has not repaired the vehicle because he believes it is a safety defect.the manufacturer did not provide any assistance.the failure and current mileages were 80,000.
I experienced trouble starting the car for a couple of weeks prior to this incident also during this time the car was "hesitating" at various times both on acceleration and cruising.on feb 3, 2005, after returning to the vehicle after a quick stop at the store, the engine would turn over but not "catch" and start.after trying to start it at least 6 to 8 times, the engine started but the cel, slp and tc engine warning lights went on and stayed on.the vehicle was brought to the nissan dealer and according to the invoice:"scanned obd2 system for dtc trouble codes: has code p0430.further diagnosis determined that cam sensor is bad.replaced cam sensor, cleared codes and rechecked."my question which was not fully answered by the nissan dealer is what prompted the mechanic to do further diagnostics after receiving the p0430 which according the information i've been able to gather is not related to a problem caused by the cam sensor.i was advised that the nissan mechanic had a "decision tree" to follow when diagnosing.in may and june of 2004 the cel light came on i had my local mechanic look at the car and he determined each time that an oxygen sensor was bad replaced them.i will provide a copy of the bill(s) related to all repairs if requested. I have 2 questions of nissan, were the error codes displayed in may and june of 2004 in fact generated in error?what internal information did the nissan dealer have that prompted him to do further diagnostics to come up with a cam sensor failure?
2001 nissan maxima : in december 2004 service engine light came on and i pulled code p0420.vehicle was under 80,000 emissions warranty.dealer "reprogrammed the ecm".feb 2007 at 81,800 miles, but within the 96 month warranty, same code appears, however now dealer says that o2 sensor and catalytic converter are bad. Dealer says o2 sensor damaged catalytic converter, yet no code appeared for the o2 sensor, and vehicle was only driven less than 2 days with light on.in process of dealing with nissan north america for replacement.also, vehicle was new out of alignment, and alignment was never perfect.

Timing chain, guide or tensioner worn.rattle noise coming from timing chain cover when accelerating from stop or at low end of rpms when revving motor in neutral.could puncture timing chain cover, causing loss of oil or chain could fail. Dealers statesthat removal of engine is required for service , and by the time labor and parts are totaled, it makes more sense to replace the engine. Ddealers state that this was a part that should not require service. Cost of replacement $4,000, half or more of the value of the vehicle, depending on what price referencewas used.
Front brake wheel bearing failed, brake rotors warps in less than 15,000 mi. 02 sensor failed < 15,000 mi, need brakes replaced less than every 15,000 mi. Excessive vibration in front of automobile. Dealer is unable to isolate and repair. Automobile is no dam good.
- while driving his 2001 nissan maxima at a speed of 30 mph the vehicle stalled completely losing power.at the time of the failure contact stated that the steering wheel locked, as well as, losing the ability to brake.the contact could not restart the vehicle so he had to have the vehicle towed to dealer. The dealer stated that the idol air control valves caused the computer to short circuit, and that this seemed to be a common problem with the vehicle.
While driving at approximately 30 mph and decelerating the car began to slightly buck when the transmission tried to down shift.after approximately one to two minutes i smelled an electrical burn.when i came to a stop and put the car in park the engine raced to approximately 1600 to 1900 rpms at idle.the obd-ii indicated codes of p0505: idle air control valve and p0420: three way catalyst function. My local mechanic inspected the car and replaced the faulty idle air control valve.he contacted the local nissan service shop, and they informed him that idle air control valve failed and shorted the engine control module, ecm.this seemed to be a common problem the dealer noted, and currently had another 2001 maxima in the shop that was exhibiting the same failures.the dealer inspected my car and reported the idle air control valve failed and shorted the ecm.the failure of the idle air control valve should not short the ecm.this is a design failure and should not be the responsibility of the car owner.the ecm is a $915 part plus labor. The ecm was replaced. This is similar to odi id numbers: 10179328 and 10179390.
I have an '01 maxima se. My check engine light came on, brought it to a dealer who said it was an emission problem & it would cost $900 to fix !!!! and i need it done before i can get my car inspected, which is this month. I have had nothing but issues with this car. When i bought it it kept steering to the right, they used my "one free" nissan alignment and it was still not right! it was my tires because i had to get new tires @ 30k miles (i had bridgestone potenzas, they don't last very long i found out) so i ended up buying cooper tires for $200/tire. The pulling to the right was cured after that. I have also had a computer problem, an abs light problem, and have already had my rotors & brakes replaced at 30k. I only have 40k on it now. Sometimes it doesn't want to start either. (it will putter and die) all in all i will never buy a nissan again. I hope someone will read this & take it from me, do not get a maxima, especially an '01.
-the contact stated that the 2001idle air control (iac valve) f and the engine computer unit (ecu) failed.the contact stated that 3 months ago he had dealership look at vehicle because the check engine light turned on and the vehicle would not start properly.the contact stated that the burned out ecu causes the vehicle to lose power while driving and causes a loss of steering ability and locked up of the brakes.
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima.while driving (mph unknown) the check engine light illuminated.the dealer inspected the vehicle twice, stated that the catalytic converter failed, and should be replaced.the dealer replaced the catalytic converter at 90,000 and again at 121,000 miles.the current mileage was 121,000 and failure mileage was 90,000.
Service engine light will not go off.no problem with car or the emission or enviormental equipment. Spent $100 twice for nissan analysis. They want $1400 for light to go off. Ridiculous. Called nissan usa after seeing many maxima 2001 cars have similar problem and frustration.recommend another $100 analysis and no support whatsoever. Never buying nissan again.
I have a problem with emission system and catalyst converter, light service engine went on,and i replaced oxygen sensors whilecar was under warranty 2 times. And now i need to spent $700 to fixwill neverbuy nissan cars again.
Soon after my warranty expire on my nissan maxima se 2001. My catalytic converter failed.i call the company to complain about it as i understand the converter is not a part that is likely to fail. I have always purchased a 91 octane gasoline or higher and kept a routine maintenance.i also have to replace my exhaust system because of corrosion just recently and as if this was not enough, driving home from work the other day, my car started shaking and vibrating. I am not quite sure what has caused the vibration but would like to bring it to your attention.
Both oxygen sensors failed. The check engine light illuminated intermittently at first. Then the light just stayed on.*sc
The intake manifold gasket needed to be replace at 87,000 miles.i have noticed that other maxima owners have had the same experience.
Rear muffler flange will completely rust-through, causing separation of muffler and intake pipe. Exhaust fumes will leak at this point which is near rear passengar seating. Both muffler and corresponding exhaust pipes are solid and relatively free of rust, however failure of this flange resulted in both pipe and muffler replacement. This seems rather extreme for a flange failure. Problem ocurred within four years of ownership (car was purchased new). A letter was sent to the manufacturer, they responded my stating car was out of warranty. My out of pocket expense $300.
Rear muffler, and gasket needed to be replaced, rotted and loose.
Numerous problems with vehicle's front rotors. *mr this was the consumer's third set of front rotors and the latest set warped. The vehicle vibrated and pulled to the side when the consumer applied the brakes.the vehicle had been in the shop for brake work six times.the consumer owned many nissan's and stated that this was the first major problem ever experienced.there was still a slight vibration coming from the rear brakes, moaning/groaning sounds from the front right, creaking/popping when turning, when setting the cruise at 70 mph(cruise control cable was not properly adjusted), it felt as if the gas was applied, and bumps could be felt in the road through the steering wheel. *scc. It took a long time for the air condition to cool the vehicle.
I was traveling on south bowens mill rd. In douglas ga when a vehicle that have on their turn signal involved me hitting the back of her vehicle. There wasn't much damage to her vehicle but my vehicle was damaged severely. The airbag should've came out but didn't. In 2015, i received a notice from nissan stating that there was a recall on nissan airbags, so i immediately took my car to the nissan dealership in tifton, ga. I'm not even sure if they replace the defective airbag or not because the dealership was about to close when they began to work on my vehicle. My appointment was at 9am and i didn't get out of their to closing. The employees was ready to go about the time they began to work on my vehicle. However, looking at the damages to my vehicle, the airbag should've came out but it didn't. I will be submitting photos of damages.
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima.when the vehicle is turned off, the exterior lighting sometimes remains illuminated.when the vehicle is started, the exterior lighting sometimes fails to illuminate.the lighting either fails to illuminate or remains illuminated when the vehicle is turned off.the vehicle has not been inspected by a mechanic.the failure mileage was 164,424 and current mileage was 152,000.
My 2001 nissan maxima headlights glaze over constantly which causes loss of visibility in bad weather and at night.my wife has a hard time driving the car because there is not sufficient illumination coming from the headlights. The dealer told me to use wax on the headlights to remove the glazing.this does not correct the problem.i feel that this is a safety hazard that needs to be corrected immediately.
Loud knocking under front of the car, i replaced the bearings and noise stopped for a while.the knocking has come back and the steering wheel will be hard to move and sometime jerks to the side. Also the whole tail light goes out, ihave changed the light bulbs four times already within a month.
Check engine light continues to come on. Identified that the idle control valve and gasket need to be replaced. Identified also that ecm is now burned out.
2001 nissan maxima required the replacement of the fuel tank filler neck and cap secondary to corrosion.the service engine soon indicator light was illuminated requiring diagnostic evaluation in which the code was related to the evap system subsequently leading to the discovery of gasoline vapor leaking from the fuel filler neck due to corrosion. The vehicle would not pass nys inspection due to this problem.
While driving vehicle stalled.consumerwas unable to restart vehicle, andtowed it to the dealer for inspection. Mechanicdetermined thatfuel pump neededto be replaced due to a worn part.
While driving 10 mph vehicle stalled.consumerto restart vehicle but was unable to do so. Consumerhad the vehicle towed to the dealer for inspection, andmechanic replaced the fuel injection system pump due to worn out parts.
Fuel filler pipe rusted. As a result, when filling the vehicle fuel leaked.
2001 maxima check engine light illuminated due to a rusted fuel filler neck.the consumer was told that the part rusted because nissan did not place a shield to protect he part at the time of manufacturing.the consumer requested reimbursement for the cost of diagnosis and repair.
Engine codes po 420 and po 174.

I've just got the car on monday and today is the day i started driving it an it was perfectly fine until i was heading back home. I was coming around a turn an the car was like it was in neutral but it still was in drive so i pulled over an put the car in park and turned it off then back on. I've put it back in drive an pulled out back on the road. Little more down the road it was doing the same thing so i called the place i got the car from and was told to call tomorrow an setup a appointment to check out the car. Other then that the car is perfectly find. I just wanna know if there is any recalls or any recall on that particular problem. If you could please get back to me asap. Thank youone more thing, my aunty just got a brand new nissan altima and she has the same problem...
My nissan maxima (2001) began to hard shift between 1st and 2nd gear at approx. 55,000 miles. When i reported it to the dealer (tim dahle nissan in sandy, ut) at the 60,000 maintenance service, i was told there was nothing wrong with the transmission.the shifting problem got steadily worse. The car began doing it randomly at any gear. At 74,000 miles i finally had time to take it to the dealer again. This time the dealer acknowledged the problem (after i made them test drive the car again) and replaced the control valve assembly in the transmission. I picked up the car and drove off the dealer's lot and the car immediately hard shifted from 1st to 2nd gear. Three weeks later i took the car back in. The dealer assured me that this was the way the transmission was supposed to work. Apparently, nissan released a bulletin to its dealers, explaining that there was a known problem in the maxima 2000 to 2003 (and other models as well). The bulletin instructs the dealer to replace the control valve assembly, but not the transaxle assembly.i am left with a car that shifts hard between 1st and 2nd, resulting in a "clunk" sound. I bought nissan for performance but to avoid this hard shift i have to drive slowly, babying the transmission to shift quietly between 1st and
While driving my 2001 maxima se, when i accelerate to pass, the car stalls momentarily then the engine revs almost to redline and then the transmission shifts.i took the car to baker jackson nissan in houston and they said that the problem was with the catalytic converter.they replaced the catalytic converter and the problem persists.they claim it is not the transmission.
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima.while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle jerked and shifted gears.the incident felt as if the vehicle was being rear-ended.the rpms increased to 3,000 and then decreased.the contact took the vehicle to a repair shop and the mechanic stated that the automatic transmission was the cause of the failure.the mechanic further stated that a new transmission was needed.the vehicle has not been repaired.the dealer and manufacturer have not been notified.the current mileage was approximately 172,000 and failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
After parking vehicle, consumer shifted to park, instantly vehicle surged forward and hit the garage wall. Damage was $5000.00. Vehicle has been repaired at body shop, not inspected by dealer. *yd
My nissan maxima (2001) began to hard time shift between 1st and 2nd gear at approx. 55,000 miles. When i reported it to the dealer. The dealer took looking at it and did a driving test and found that there was no problem shift from first gear to second gear. At the 60,000 it got worse and worse shift from first gear to second gear. Most of the time it wouldn't switch to second gear. Now i am hearing that nissan had a recall. Nissan released a bulletin to its dealers, explaining that there was a known problem in the maxima 2000 to 2003 (and other models as well). The bulletin instructs the dealer to replace the control valve assembly, but not the transaxle assembly. I was not notified about this recall. I would like to get my car fixes.i also found any problem that i am keep getting from my nissan every 3,000 a light say check engine.. I took the cars to have check twice and there tell me it was a software upgrade.
My 10 year old child was sitting in the rear seat drivers side and was strapped using the seat belt.the seat beltzapped and tightened suddenly. The seat belt locked itself around my child's neck and it was too tight to release her. This happened onthe interstate.i was not able to loosen the belt and therefore had to cut the belt itself.

I park my car at work and proceed to move the seat foward for my wife.it did not move; i have a 2001 nissan maxima.it has a driver side power seat.the seat tilts but does not move forward or backwards.
Drivers seat will not move front or back or up and down.
Passenger side power seat will not move forward or backward, entire motor needs replacing, volume of usage has been minimal, mileage on the vehicle is only 47k.
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima.while driving various speeds, the contact heard a constant knocking sound coming from the vehicle.the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that the brakes were the cause of the failure.they test drove the vehicle and diagnosed it as unsafe to drive.the dealer claimed to have repaired the vehicle; however, the noise recurred and the contact also began experiencing steering failure.the dealer stated that the recent failure was due to the lower arm suspension.she found a recall regarding the suspension:front:control arm:lower arm, but nissan stated that her vin was not included.the contact believes that her vin should be included in the recall.the recall number was unknown.the failure mileage was 100,000 and current mileage was 125,000.
Consumer stated that when trying to apply the brakes the brake pedal would go to the floor causing the vehicle to have extended stopping distance and a vehicle accident. Dealer notifiedts
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima.the abs and check engine warning indicator lights illuminated.while driving 2 mph and greater, the brake pedal would pulsate when depressed.the mechanic stated that the brake sensors needed to be replaced, but could not determine why the check engine light was illuminated.the failure mileage was 53,000 and current mileage was 54,000.
The rotors malfunctioned, causing them to warp.when the rotors warped and the brake pedal was depressed steering wheel shook.the fastervehicle wasdriven and when the brake pedal was depressed the worse the steering wheel shook.this could result inconsumer losing control of the vehicle.dealership resurfaced the rotors, but they warped again within 17,000 miles.
Within 50,000 miles roters have been replaced three times andhave been resurfaced once.the first rotor replacement occurred at 15, 000 miles.symptoms of the problem range from shaking steering wheel, having to pump the brakes to reduce shaking and grinding sounds that occur during breaking.the car is driven on the highway with infrequent city stop and go driving.the dealership has replaced or resurfaced the roters on all four occassions free of charge, but fails to admit that there is any defect and cites possible driving habits as the cause of the problem.
Almost every 10,000 miles there is a problem with the brakes.on 7/18/2003vehicle was taken to the dealer who resurfaced the rotors on the front and back.
Warped rotors resurfaced once 18,000 miles ago because of heavy vibration in steering on braking (close to loss of control of car). Experiencing same problem again and dealer claims it's due to drive habits and refuses to service under extended warranty. The warped rotors causes you to have to pump the brakes to slow the car down which would explain the wear on the brake due to defective rotors.i do mostly highway driving so brakes not used extensively.need to look at the possibility that some component is causing the rotors to overheat and warp and not a result of heavy braking.spouse experiencing same problem on 2002 pathfinder with 22,000 miles. Please investigate as i think this is a widespread problem that nissan is trying to attribute to the consumers' drive habits.let's not wait for severe injury to occur before taking action.
My rotors had to be turned at 17,000 (11/30/2001) and 32,000 (11/15/2002)miles due to vibration on braking.the service rep claims it is due to the rotors warping due to heating up and claims it is due to driving habits.i drive primarily highway miles and limited city driving and this reasoning doesn't seem likely.especially twice.i've also owned a honda accord (112,000 miles) and a toyota camry (70,000 miles) and never had any such problems.this makes me question the claim that it is my braking habits.
While driving 60 mph, the driver applied the brakes and the vehicle vibrated.the vehicle was taken to the dealer for an inspection and themechanicdetermined that therotors needed to be replaced.theproblem still continued at this time.the front rotors were replaced and turned.on a later date the rotors needed to be resurfaced.the dealer would not fix the vehicle under warranty. *sc
I am experiencing brake rotor warping problems with my 2001 nissan maxima. The dealer refuses to even investigate the problem.
We own a 2001 maxima, purchased new, and like lots of other people on this web site, have experienced rotor problems.we have had them resurfaced and replaced at least 4 times since we have owned the car.the car only has 64,000 miles on it, not driven on dirt roads, i do not jam on the brakes, or anything like that, and we have owned other vehicles and never have had this problem with them. We also own a 1999 chevrolet pickup with more miles on it, and have never had this problem on it. Nissan says, like it tells everyone else, that it is the driver's habits which is untrue, and they just do not want to take the responsibility for this obvious defect.we are tired of having to fix these brakes, and spend unnecessary money every 12,000-15,000 miles. It feels like it is not safe when we are trying to stop the car, as it vibrates in the steering wheel terribly, and feels like you could very easily lose control of the vehicle.next time we purchase a car, we would probably not consider a nissan because of this.
Rotors warp and cause steering to shake when brakes applied - on my maxima i have needed to have the disks turned 3 times (1st time at 13k miles) and then the rotors replaced before i had 30k miles on my car. Now at 44500 i need to get the disks turned again. I had a 98 maxima before the 01 and never had to get work. *nlm
While driving 55 mph or higher thesteering wheel vibrated when the brake were applied.the driver suspected that the rotors were warped.*nlm *nlm
Rotorswere warping after only 15000 miles. Contacted dealer, anddealer cannot findcause of problem.
Every 15000 milesfront brake rotor has to be replaced due to warping. Consumer owns two vehicle of the same make/model, but different years, and they are both suffering the same problem.
I have experienced repeated problems on at least 6 occasions since i have owned this car with the rotors.everytime i have this fixed the dealer determined that this was caused by my driving habits which i did not agree with seeing as how i have owned 3 cars prior and have never experienced this problem.i have had to have the catalytic converter replaced, 3 oxygen sensors replaced, and 2 wheel sensors.these occurrences have spanned over 18 months and have costlots of money!the calipers have locked, and the car caught on fire in the wheel well, also.i have tried to get assistance from the dealer i bought the car from,no assistance from the local nissan dealer in raleigh, and last, but not least - nissan themselves - they even lied to me on the phone and told me that it was sent back to the local nissan dealer, who had the right to cover the costs, but was denying the charge.the local nissan dealer disputed this and it left me with nothing but frustrationand with a lemon of a car!i purchased this car with less than 40000 miles and checked the vin through carfax.i also checked what consumer reports said about the make and model.from what i have experienced ,and the complaints i have seen on this site, i will never purchase another nissan again, and feel that therotors and sensors should be investigated by nissan.
The steering wheel would pulsate when slowing down on the highway to pay a toll, making the car difficult to steer. I brought the car to a nissan dealer and was told the rotors were warped. The carhas only 30,000 miles and was still under warranty butthe dealer refused to cover the obviously defective rotors. Instead they charged me $150 to resurface the two front rotorsto fix this problem. I believe this is only a temporary fix, and the rotors will warp again just because they are a defective part, and nissan doesn't want to take any responsibility for this problem.
Lump behind brake pedal.when i press on the brake pedal, the top of my foot (10.5 shoe size) presses against a lump which stops me from applying more pressure to the brake.to avoid this, i have to position my foot at an angle.unfortunately, when i need to apply the brake in a hurry, the last thing i think about is the angle of my foot.this is a very dangerous design flaw and i was wondering if your agency has come across this problem before.thank you.
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima. The contact stated that the front control arm and motor mount failed. The contact also stated that the power steering assist failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was confirmed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

Immoral car company! nissan, the next big bailout.while attempting to start my vehicle, the key sensor light illuminated and the vehicle would not start.i notified my local nissan dealership and described the problem.the dealer indicated there was a failure of the security system involving the steering lock unit. He also advised the nissan corp. Was well aware of this problem involving the make and model given.because of this common occurrence he said nissan issued an extended warranty on the malfunctioning system. I had the vehicle towed to a certified mechanic where the steering lock failure was diagnosed.i then contacted nissan north america inc with the diagnoses for them to advise the next step for the repairs.of course they said it had to be diagnosed/confirmed by a certified nissan mechanic/dealer.since i used my insurance company to tow my vehicle, i had no other means of getting the vehicle to a nissan dealer.the clerk i spoke with at nissan north america informed me to have the vehicle towed to a nissan dealer and if the problem was the same as stated in the extended warranty, they would reimburse me for the tow bill and repairs.after $1710.93 and three long, long, long phone calls later, here i am writing a complaint because i was not fully reimbursed as promised.the previous total includes the repair cost, tow bill and rental car cost.however i must say i was partially reimbursed for some of my expenses. (the tow bill from one certified mechanic to another.)
While traveling at 60 mph steering wheel locked up and loss of brakes occurred, causingvehicle to hit a tree, both air bags did not deploy. Manufacturer was not notified at this time.manufacturer will not assist consumer with air bag matter.

After hearing a rattle in the front of the car, i found that the frame support under the radiator was severely rusted and full of large holes for about 8 inches at the center of the beam. This point in the beam is where the engine support beam and front hood latch support are bolted. I brought the car to a local body shop which told me that they had repaired 'numerous' nissan maxima's with the exact same issue. As the rusted area supports the engine and hood latch, it appears that it severely compromises the integrity of the front of the car, both from an engine support perspective and in the event of a frontal collision. The car is being driven in the northeast where salt is used in the winter, but the rest of the underbody has no significant rust like what is found on this beam.in searching your database, i found no defect investigations or safety recalls, but did see two other complaints about this issue.at the very least, the public should be notified about this, as it appears to be much more widespread than the complaints i have seen.i'm not a structural engineer, but if you saw the condition of this structural point in the car, you would not drive it.please investigate.
Frontcrosssub frame steal defect. So rusted...engine and trans could drop leading to imminent danger.

The lower radiator support bar and surrounding lower structure started rusting away after about 4-5 years from new.the lower radiator support is now almost entirely gone.the dealer quoted $5400 to repair. I was told by the service rep that if/when the core support let go, the engine could fall causing a wreck.
Went to fix the passenger air bag recall and dealer informed that front cross frame/bar's metal is falling apart because of severe corrosion/rusting which is main support for the radiator and the engine. Also advised that it's highly dangerous to drive since engine/radiator can just fall anytime when it lacks the support. When nissan consumer affairs is approached they failed to admit the defective material used but responded that vehicle is out of warranty and they could not cover.also observed similar recent complaints from other owners, hope our complaints gets further attention and concerns are addressed.

Driver noticed while driving vehicle shook.the driver was able to maintain control of vehicle, and drove to the dealer for inspection.the mechanic determined that a part for suspension needed to be replaced..the defective lower control arm part has not been replaced yet.all contact with nissan corp pertaining to this matter has been ignored.
The contact owns 2001 nissan maxima. Vehicle has had broken struts, spring realignment, wheel bearings and hub assembly.
I see on your website my model year 2001 nissan maximawas recalled for air bags. I have never been notified that there was a recall for the air bags. Also there was a recall on the suspension control arm transverse link pins. I don't ever remember seeing a recall for that either

I'm scared the gas pedal's going to get stuck and ill crash.when i turn i hear a knocking noise coming from the tire/suspension.
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima.while driving approximately 45 mph, the contact heard a squeaking sound coming from the vehicle.the vehicle then began veering to the right.a month later, the vehicle was towed to a local repair shop due to a flat tire on the driver's side.the tire was replaced.within the same month, the vehicle was returned to the repair shop due to the tire and alignment.the mechanic stated that the transverse link was defective in the front suspension, which caused the vehicle to lean to the right.the mechanic further stated that there was a recall relating to this failure.the dealer and manufacturer were notified and stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall.the current mileage was 137,000 and failure mileage was 127,000. Updated 01/06/09.*ljupdated 01/06/09.
The pin at the end of the front suspension transverse link (lower control arm) broke off where it is mounted to the frame.this is causing a knocking sound and abnormal steering. This is resulting in difficulty controlling the vehicle.the right front wheel fell off. I called the manufacturer regarding recall notice02v146000.they stated that my vin number is not included in this recall, even though i am experiencing the same problem with the same make, model, year of auto.we have tried to replace the pin, but have been unsuccessful.
While driving at any speed the steering would be hard to steer. Recall 02v146000concerning front suspension arm was issued.dealership would not repair free of charge because the vin was not included.
My control arm on my '01 maxima broke.although there is a recall for this year, my vin # isn't included so nissan won't fix.seems like this is a comon problem for this car.i do not understand how nissan can know exactly which vehicles this recall affects if mistakes were made.thankfully i wasn't on a freeway at the time.if you have had same problem, my contact is [email protected].
*sc
I have a 2001 nissan maxima se 20th anniv. [xxx] and recently (about 2-3 months ago) i started having problems with my front suspension - whenever i go over bumps or any sort of road cracks, i hear the banging (knocking) sound in my front suspension on both sides and the steering (handling) has become really sloppy.this week i was about to take the car to the mechanic but i accidentally came across some information on the internet regarding the same problem with over 90,000 2001-2002 maximas that have been recalled by nissan for free fixing.to be exact the safety nhtsa recall number is 02v146 and the description is "the pin at the end of the front suspension transverse link (lower control arm) could break where it is mounted to the frame, causing a knocking sound and abnormal steering, resulting in difficulty controlling the vehicle and increasing the risk of crash.dealers should replace the transverse links on the left and right sides with new ones.owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact nissan."anyways, this morning i called nissan canada and was told that my car was not recalled, because apparently when they began recalling on june 24, 2002, they determined the manufacturing date range from june 2001 to january 2002.my car was manufactured in october 2000; however if it has been a safety issue for over 90,000 same vehicles - how accurate their decision is??? all i want is to feel safe driving my car but in my case nissan do not wish to cooperate.please let me know if there is a way to help me and to resolve this issue.the best way to contact me is e-mail: [xxx] or cell [xxx] or [xxx].please let me know, how long will it take to process and resolve the issue because i do not want to drive the car knowing what the problem is and especially knowing that it is a recall.thank you very much for your attention!information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

Have a 2001 nissan maxima and the pin on the frontlower control arm broke and had to be replaced at around 75,000 miles.there is a recall for this part, but my car was not eligible for some reason.this part, if defective, represents a serious safety concern and i am very suspicious as to the reasons why the recall did not apply to my vehicle's vin.the loss of controll was extremely noticable and i am concerned about the other side breaking and causing a serious accident.

Front wheel bearing went wrong after less than 55k miles.
Loud knocking under front of the car, i replaced the bearings and noise stopped for a while.the knocking has come back and the steering wheel will be hard to move and sometime jerks to the side. Also the whole tail light goes out, ihave changed the light bulbs four times already within a month.
Vehicle has had broken struts, spring realignment, wheel bearings and hub assembly.
Rear suspension is not designed to accomdate 4 adult passengers.trunk was empty with four passengers and rear suspension would bottom out.dealer notified, unhelpful, and most likely stalling until the warranty expires.
After purchasing a new 2001 nissan maxima se in august 2001, i taken it back to the dealership over five times because of the steering and vibration of the tires and the problem is still not fixed.
Toyo all season, proxes, p215/55r16 dot cxvd7a21000, original equipment, $ 8000 damage to vehicle, blowout on right rear tire due to tread separation at 65 mph, one person was injured in accident, consumer lost control striking a barrier wall.

I bought a 2001 nissan maxima brand new in june 2001.one day while driving in 2004 i experienced sudden acceleration and the engine racing.it did stop after a few seconds but i took it immediately to my neighborhood car mechanic.he couldn't duplicate the problem but found a defective air pollution part and replaced it.the next day, while waiting to take a left turn at an intersection, the engine suddenly raced again and with me practically standing on the brake we slid across the intersection headed towards oncoming traffic.luckily people slowed enough for me to slide across the intersection with rubber burning, engine whining, etc.a few seconds later it stopped.i was only about a mile from the dealer that i had purchased it from so i immediately drove there and pulled into the service dept. Area. I explained the problem and they told me that they couldn't look at it today but come back tommorrow.i said that i wasn't about to keep driving it with this problem and they said that i could park it in their lot and they will look at it tommorrow.i said "you can park it in your lot, i'm not driving it."the next day they called and said it must be something with the onboard computer and they would have to change it, cost $1100 not under warranty.what could i do?so of course i did it and complained but it appears to have fixed it since it hasn't happened again.i still own it.
Dt*: the contact stated while driving 70 mph on interstate during dry conditions, the vehicle stalled without warning reducing to 30 mph.the vehicle was pulled off of the interstate.after sitting for a while and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle ran normally. This occurred intermittently. At times the vehicle would reduce in speed and other times the vehicle would stall.during each incident, the check engine light illuminated.both the independent mechanic and the dealership were unable to duplicate the problem.
Check engine light continues to come on. Identified that the idle control valve and gasket need to be replaced. Identified also that ecm is now burned out.
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima. After having the check engine light repaired, it continued to illuminate. The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima.the vehicle has had several 02 sensors replaced on the vehicle.the catalytic converter was replaced around 60,000 miles and again at 120,000 miles.when turning on the vehicle, the overdrive light illuminates and flashes intermittently.after attempting to accelerate from a stop, the vehicle would only travel 5 mph.the vehicle had to be pulled over and restarted for the speed to operate normally.the current mileage is 150,000 and failure mileage was 40,000.
The contact owns a 2001 nissan maxima. While driving 60 mph, with the sun roof opened, the glass detached as the sun roof was being closed. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a claim was opened. The manufacturer advised the contact to take the vehicle to a recommended auto glass repair shop to be repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 10e038000 (visibility). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was unknown.
When coming out of an antique shop while the vehicle was parked the glass on the driver's sideexploded and shattered. Glass was all overdriver's front seat and rear seats. Consumer contacted the manufacturer, who suggested that consumer take vehicle to the nearest dealership to replace the window. Leased 2001 maxima anniversary edition.coming off lease 11/28/03.nissan sends man to inspect vehicle.man says lip of three wheels are scratched (they are) and that we must replace them at a cost of $559.00 per wheel as excessive wear and tear on vehicle.anyone who knows the maxima se knows nissan engineers designed it low to the ground and that at recommended inflation of tires the wheels of the maxima are always lower than any curb in the metropolitan area of new york.it would be impossible to drive a maxima se as designed and not have wheels strike the curb over the course of a 3 year lease.our family had been a loyal nissan customer since our first maxima in 1990.i believe we have purchased or leased 5 maximas, i know we purchased 2 sentras and leased one altima.now this is how nissan is treating us, with greedy fingers and a shakedown of over $1650.00 to replace the 3 wheels.it is obviously a design flaw of the wheel if the nissan engineers did not anticipate that we have curbs in the united states and that vehicle traffic law of new york requires all drivers to parallel park on the street.if they are going to charge leasing customers for damage to the lip of the wheel they should recall every maxima se and put normal size wheels on the vehicles not the alloy wheels they now have with less than 2 inches of tire to the actual wheel.beware of nissan leasing policy.never again will a nissan vehicle cross the threshold of our family driveway.then to complete this shakedown they offer to take $500.00 dollars off their "damage assessment" if we will lease or buy a new nissan.extortion!keep your cars we will get our son another type of car.you blew it, lost a good customer and hopefully those who read this many more customers.*la
