The first time my wife was riding in the front passenger seat at night, she noted that the "air bag off" light was illuminated.it is very difficult to see this light during the day.my wife weights 117 lbs and is 5'6" tall.she is not a small adult.we were on a trip, but we took the truck to the nearest nissan dealer (not the dealer who sold me the truck).the dealer put a man weighing about 50 lbs more than my wife in the seat, and the "airbag off" light stayed off.when i got home from the trip, i took the truck to my original dealer.two representatives from the dealer went on a 10 minute drive with my wife in the front passenger seat.the light stayed on for the entire test drive, meaning that the airbag would not deploy in a frontal collision.this is documented on the invoice i received from the dealer.in 2016, nhtsa required a recall (16v244000) of 3.53 million nissan and infinity cars for exactly this problem.nhtsa notes that "the front seat passenger occupant classification system may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied."for some reason, the frontier model was not included in the recall. I have informed nissan consumer affairs.they have not offered any help.this serious safety problem may cause unnecessary injury or death if an airbag does not properly deploy with a normal adult in the passenger seat.the frontier should be included in the recall and the problem should be corrected.

The airbag light stays flashing and does not turn off on the truck. I drove the truck with my friend and we were both in our seat belts, for an entire 1 hour ride the light kept flashing. The airbag light starts flashing as soon as i start the truck now and does not shut off unless i park the car and turn the car off. This is a serious safety issue, if the airbag does not deploy due to the faulty sensor even when seat belts are worn i am sure that is a hospital case and a lawsuit waiting to happen. Please make nissan rectify this problem.

The contact owns a 2017 nissan frontier. The contact stated while driving various speeds, the vehicle occasionally stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and continued driving to her destination. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the battery connectors be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 18v551000 (electrical system) however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

Brand new 2017 nissan frontier desert runner off the showroom floor with a non-functioning speedometer. Odometer and all other gauges worked but could not tell how fast you were going. Speedometer needle stuck on zero. Don't know how this got by manufacture's pdi.

While driving on a county highway, the engine caught fire for no apparent reason resulting in the total loss of the vehicle. Engine compartment was completely destroyed. About 2100 miles on odometer, speed at time of fire was about 30 mph. I had been driving about 5 minutes, just long enough for the engine to warm up. I checked the oil about 1 week prior to the fire and reading was normal. No problems starting the vehicle and it was running normally until the flames erupted from under the hood. No injuries or other property damage.

I purchased a 2017 nissan frontier in august of 2017. Recently when i went to fill up with gas, gas started coming back up. I researched this online and it is a common issue with frontier. The evap fuel canister and solenoid valve.

Ever since the last service a couple weeks ago, the last two times getting gas the gas has backed up and spilled out the fuel fill up door.unable to fully fill tank. Engine warning light comes on.

The contact owns a 2017 nissan frontier. The contact stated while driving at approximately 60 mph the vehicle unexpectedly started to leak fuel. There was no warning lights to indicate the failure. The contact safely pulled the vehicle over and the fire department was called. The vehicle was towed to a local mechanic where the repairs were made. The prognosis was that the vehicle had a punctured fuel tank. The dealer was contacted but offered no resolution. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure was 40,000.*ln

I try and fill up fuel and the pump constantly shuts off.i have to pump the fuel super slow in order for it to fill up.i have tried different gas stations, same issue.i took it into the dealer and they did some repairs under the enhancement warranty they implemented, but the issue still exists.they want to charge me $1900 to replace the fuel tank and other fuel components even though the exact same issue is happening as described in the warranty enhancement for the issue. Code p0448.the issue is beyond just the evap canister if the issue still exists after they replaced it, so it seems as though they are only trying to repair part of the issues even though it is beyond the basic fix, if it is still occurring.if you try and fill up normally, the nozzle shuts off or the fuel spills out because it is detecting it is full even though it's not.

Gas tank vent not working properly while refueling. Spill over at fuel fill up door, unable to load full tank of fuel into gas tank. Engine warning light illuminates.

When it rains or snows, the fuel fill overflow valve stops working correctly and fuel spits right back out when trying to fill with fuel and the check engine light comes on. The light comes on when driving in rain or snow.

I went to fill the gas tank today and it started coming back out the about 10 minutes later the mil light came on took it to dealership said it was vent control valve needs to be replaced 495.00 dollars truck has 45000 miles nissan said i was out of warranty bs

When driving on hilly streets with 55 mph speed limit, truck will not maintain 55 mph speed using cruise control..traveling up hill, truck drops 5-8 mph before downshifting to lower gear.the downshift is abrupt rather than a smooth.without cruise control engaged, disengaging overdrive is the only way to maintain speed.

When proceeding from a green light, the 2017 nissan frontier sv will not accelerate as normal.to get the truck moving forward, i had to step on the gas medal with more depth than usual, rendering the engine rpm very high, to inch the truck away from the stop light. Luckily, i made it to a shopping center parking lot which was about 100-200 feet away.from the parking stall, i wanted to test if the reverse gear was affected. Shifted the transmission intoreverse and the 2017 nissan frontier sv will not move backwards. The reverse gear did not work.this truck has 500 miles only when the transmission failure occurred.

The transmission when towing 2000 lbs of weight or greater will lock into third gear when the rpm exceeds 4000 rpm. The rpm will stay constant at 4000 rpm with your foot off the pedal and will not drop out of gear unless the overdrive button it disengaged. This problem was replicated with the tech and service manager in my vehicle and a like in kind 2019 nissan frontier . The vehicle engine is racing with your foot off the pedal for all intense and purpose driving itself. Nissan consumer affairs indicated that because the problem was replicated in another vehicle they refuse to address the problem. Unbel

I've never feared for my own life and the others i have to road share with until owning this 2017 nissan frontier. I've had it into the dealership a total of 7 times because the drivers seat slides back and forth while going down the road. The nissan dealership has replaced and tightened up the track the seat sits on and within a few hundred miles it becomes loose. I've contacted nissan and they refuse to talk to me. Not only does the drivers seat slide back and forth while going down the road but so has the passenger side. I took it back to the dealership i bought it from 2years ago and they refused to help me other than offering me to trade it in and put someone else's life in jeopardy.

The brakes on this frontier have problems . The brake pedal has to much free play ,the brakes don't function till at least 2 inches off pressure and they feel spongy . I have takenthe truck to 2 different dealers 3 times , theystated that it is normal and it is within factory specs, i don't agree with them . Iam concerned about getting into a accident . I did some research and there have been complaints since the 2006 model . You think they would have corrected it . This vehiclecost 30000 dollars and iam not happy about . I hope you can help me.

I bought a new nissan frontier sv crew can pick up. It has a terrible vibration from 60-80 mph. I have taken it to the dealera couple of times.they changed out the tires and then told me it is normal for all of these vehicles.i believe this is a safety issue, because i can not drive very far without my hands going numb. It is impossible for me to drive it any distance on the freeway because of this issue. I am not certain it is the tires, but nissan claims it is normal.

Possible hood latch and safety catch failure while vehicle was traveling approximately 50 mph on a paved county road.hood opened smashing the windshield and part of roof causing glass to come in on driver.

Wiring in newer vehicles being coated in soy. I have since jan.2019 had my vehicle in for repair due to a rodent of some type/ (squirrel) or something else.i have read online that there have been many people who are dealing with the same problem.is there anyway thatthe manufacturer of my vehicle and others be made to fix this problem.its costing the insurance companies and consumers a ton of money. This happens when my vehicle sits in my yard daily since i drive a work van.i have 3 vehicles in my yard/ chev. Ford and my nissan.only my nissan is being attacked.my ford isn't being moved hardly ever. Like the body shop stated they would not drive it after the wires are chewed because something could stop working while i could be driving it.twice erie insurance has paid for this we recently changed to geico in feb and about 13 days later the squirrel chewed on the wires again.i have talked to car dealers and auto insurance and they stated they are getting a lot of claims on this problemsseems that since the car companies created this problem buy putting something in our vehicle that the rodents love.please help.i seen where a group of people had a class action suite but it was thrown out of court by some judge.

The "bed extender" fell out of the bed on to freeway while driving vehicle from home depot to my residence. I followed instructions for use no warning label. I wrote dealer told them what occurred they basically , yawned"
