While the vehicle is running, the airbag warning light on the dashboard flashes, whether or not there is a passenger in the passenger seat. There was no damage to the vehicle or any initiating factor that i can determine. One day when i turned the vehicle on, the warning light also turned on. The light does not turn off during the operation of the vehicle. The vehicle is under 40,000 miles.

The passenger air bag if faulty, and sets off a light which indicates no protection for any passengers in the front seat.

Takata recall.dash light for air bag flashes while driving with or without someone in passenger seat. When starting vehicle air bag light comes on and then starts flashes.did not take to garage yet.

The front crash zone sensor is in need of replacement, the previous model years have already been recalled and had this fixed via a recallthe exact same problem has happened with my 2013 nissan frontier

The vehicle was in motion on the highway and also turning.yaw rate sensor malfunctioning. I took to the dealer and was quoted 800.00 for sensor excluding labor. Im in m.s...i live in t.n. I was advised it wasnt safer on interstate travel. This vehicle is only 3 yrs old. At this point it is considered my safety. I think nissan should stand behind there product.

The side airbags deploy too easily in frontier trucks, all without need of a crash nissan won't cover the damages under warranty and refuses to reimburse owners who must pay out-of-pocket for repairs. Nissan does have a program to reprogram the air bag diagnosis sensor unit but will not cover the reinstall of the side curtain aid bags. The air bags are going off because of a falsereading from the sensor unit. My frontiers side curtain air bags deployed at 5mph on a flat surface.

My son had an accident, driving at 65 mph and hit a parked car on the freeway. He hit the windshield so hard with his head that the windshield has a cup shaped dent even with seat belt on and deployment of airbags. I contacted nissan, and was dismissed.i was told by [xxx], the person assigned to the case by nissan, that since insurance had paid. There was nothing else to be done. I will attach photos of the truck. I feel that the airbag and sit belt should have kept driver in place.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My side impact air bags deployed with no impact - no reason in march of 2014.same exact thing occurred again in november of 2014.nissan took responsibility + had items repaired, but i am concerned about why this is repeatedly happening + i'm afraid of it happening again!

Side air bags deployed with no impact of vehicle. Nissan claimed the vehicle was at an angle that required the bags to deploy. The vehicle is a 4x4 truck and was not at any angle that required the air bags to deploy. Speed was 10mph on a flat dirt road. Even though the vehicle only had 9000 miles the $4500.00was not covered under bumper to bumper warranty.

I was on my way to work on the very familiar road that i travel everyday. The speed limit is 45 and since it's a country-windy-road people pretty much go at that speed.as i'm drivingthe car in front of me was signaling to make a left turn. I applied the break as i approached it.~noticing that my truck was not even slowing down i pressed the break pedal with all my strength but my truck didn't even slowed any, skidded on the road or left any tire-marks behind! i hit the vehicle who was about to make a left turn from behind but it hardly suffer any damage where as my truck was totaled.in checking the road there aren't any markings of anyone trying to stop as it often happens when an accident happens!i believe that the breaks locked on my truck!

The multi-sensing system with rear camera failed to detect (no warning beep signals)that a metal light pole (on top of a 12 inch concrete slab) was behind the vehicle after backing out (veer to left) of a parking space. There were no pre-impact signals of the object when 10, 5, or 3 feet away. The warning beep sounded after the bumper hit the pole directly on one of the camera ports.

Yesterday while running errands my frontier burst into flames under the hood. The fire seemed to innitiate from the fuse box under the hood.

The electronic control module went out on my vehicle after only 60,000 miles.i tried every possible solution such as replacing sensors, replaced spark plugs, crank and shift sensors, etc until my local nissan dealership ran a diagnostic and determined it to be the ecm.they found it strange to have the ecm go out so quickly.my truck was running fine but then it slowly started to give out when i would try to start it.i have a manual transmission.

I have issues with the postive terminal coming lose onmy nissan frontier on various occasions. One was while driving. My safety and others have been put at riskdue to nissans loose cable. I almost hit a family of four with my truck.

About a year ago my sunroof was acting like it didn't want to close, i haven't opened it since, then a few months after that, it kept blowing fuses by the glove box that controls the interior lights, cargo lights and trailer hitch, then last week, i thought my truck was going to burn to the ground when i was driving down my mothers driveway. Smoke came in between the windshield and dash and filled the cab up very quickly. I put the truck in park, turned it off and ran away from the vehicle thinking it was going to blow up. I rolled all the windows down to let the smoke out. After 10 minutes, checking under the hood, under the vehicle, i did not see any flames. When i got back in the truck to drive it home, the windows would not roll up and the interior lights would not work and the airbag light is flashing on and off and won't stop and it smelled horrible of something electrical.

2013 nissan frontier.consumer writes in regards to a defective vehicle.the consumer stated the tow hitch that was supposed to be installed and included in the price of the vehicle, was not on the truck.but, instead another type of tow hitch had been installed. The consumer found it unacceptable, that he would have to pay for the jerry-rig modification to convert the class iii tow hitch to a class iv integrated received tow hitch. Manifolds break apart 2 times since owning the truck

The contact owns a 2013 nissan frontier. While driving approximately 30 mph and approaching a stop, there was an abnormal sound from the front of the vehicle. The contact also smelled exhaust fumes inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The mechanic stated that the intake manifold on the driver side was fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 37,700.

The contact owns a 2013 nissan frontier. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle overheated and antifreeze spilled from the engine. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 21,000.

When putting gas in the vehicle it will just begin pouring out, happens often and the tank is still empty

I was told that the transmission cooler is defective during a regular maintence of the transmission.

Transmission shifter will not go into drive driver and vehicle were stranded on the side of the road. Multiple documented failures for this shifter assembly.

Transmission won't go into gear forward or reverse at times. When driving on the road transmission won't shift out of 3rd gear into over drive, after topping a hill and going back downhill. Truck will do a jerking motion when pulling out from a stop.on interstate i81 truck speed was 50-55 mph the rpm's was 6,000 and the rpm's would not shift into higher gear. When it did shift it was a very hard shift. It has been going on since the day i bought this truck brand new. I have had it to the dealership numerous times and they can not find out what it is. The truck doesn't through a code, so they can't work on it till it does. I pull a small pop up camper at times and it acts up more when the truck is under stress. I have where the nissan dealership has seen the truck and their comments. They did offer me an extended warranty till 2020. I don't feel safe driving the truck on the road and especially when my family in the truck. I only have a little over 23,000 miles on the truck as to date. Nissan denied my request for another truck because they said my claim falls outside the time period for filing claims. I have the repair paper work and letters from the nissan group.

The vehicle would not shift into drive from neutral.after a few minutes of holding it in drive, i managed to get it to move forward.then, i could not get it out of drive.it only moved forward.the problem fix is described in this youtube video perfectly.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xf-qfaasmwoit was extremely scary to leave my vehicle running for fear i could not move it again and the what if this part malfunctioned in traffic while down shifting into 3 2 or 1.which is what caused mine to stick behind drive.it was the loose screw that allowed the part to bind.

My clutch has prematurely failed at 20500 miles. The truck is less then 2 years old and i have had continuous issues with the clutch including a service appointment at 3000 miles. The dealer ship told me this is not covered because the part is considered normal wear and tear. I have driven a clutch my entire life and have never had any issues like this before. It seems to me that some of nissan clutch's are "lemons" and they do not want to take the responsibility to fix them because it is a high use part. I think the company should be held accountable for this issue and no one should have to go through what i am going through right now.

One morning i arrived at work and my seat belt would not disengage after struggling with it for 10 minutes i had to cut it to get out i had no prior problems with seatbelt until that morning i took my vehicle to nissan but they are saying they will not cover it apparently because i had cut it and they are also saying that something could of been stuck in the locking mechanism u assure you there was not it's an excuse they are using to not pay for it if i had been in wreck or fire i could have died .

The seat belt warning alarm, not sure what youwould call it, stopped sounding when the seat belt was not clicked.the vehicle was taken to the service department where the truck was purchased new.the truck was still under manufactured warranty.the service department told us the vehicle was not equipped with this.of course it was working when the truck was purchased, we would never purchase a vehicle without this feature.we have tried to find the federal law stating this must be part of a vehicle after a certain date, but have not had any luck. We would appreciate any information .thank you.

The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis however, the technician was unable to duplicate the problem. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 60. Updated 12/30/13the consumer the brake pedal was located too close to the gas pedal. Purchased 4 new general grabber hts tires size 25/75r15 less than 4 months ago. Tires were installed at a reputable dealership. I now have 2,600 miles on the tires. Last week the first tire blew out at the bead, where the tire meets the rim. I installed my full size spare while the first failure is investigated. Now two days later, a second tire is severely deformed at the tire bead and looks like it is about to explode just like the first one. Both failures are right under the 'ge' in general at the tire bead. I believe these tires are completely defective, they are a danger to anyone that has them installed on their vehicle and a danger to the public.the first tire failed while driving at 55mph on a flat, straight, smooth road. The second tire has not completely failed, but there is a large bulge or bubble in the tire where it meets the rim, it looks like it could fail at any moment and is not safe to drive.first photo of first failed tire immediately after it failed on the side of road.second and third photo is the second tire i believe is about to explode.last photo dot number of first failed tire.thank you for your time.

Vehicle rolls-not slides out of driveway while vehicle in park and not running while on snow and ice does not do so when in 4 wheel drive. Nissan dealer has seen videos but says nothing wrong.lived in house since 1985 and no car has ever rolled out.only under certain winter conditions does this happen such as wet packed snow.. Second complaint.rear bumper has significant rust around license plate, rest of bumper ok.nissan says because of winter chemicals.brought this to their attention 4 years ago when pickup had 7835 miles.in 4 years i have attempted to find another pickup approximate same age any make with rust from chemicals. Traction control can snap the drivers neck. With traction control on the vehicle can apply the brake on the drive wheel that is spinning. This happening if you are not going in a straight line can snap your neck if driver is not looking straight ahead. Note when the brake is applied it is not slowly, it is snapped on, this is painful and could kill. Plus i do not think the drive-line parts will last very long. Also i would like a way to make sure the system will not 'come on' by default. When this happened to me i was pulling out from a stop making a left hand turn and the inner wheel spun on the wet pavement, the 'system' applied the brake while i was looking left and my neck was twisted more to the left then right forward displacing my neck. Note 'traction control' is deadly !

2013 nissan frontier.consumer writes in regards to vehicle intermittent acceleration problems at low speed.the consumer stated the incident would happen, when merging into traffic. The vehicle would move and then stall.

The contact owns a 2013 nissan frontier. The contact stated that there was a drastic delay upon pressing the accelerator pedal. Three to five seconds later, the vehicle surged forward with a high rate of speed without warning. The contact indicated that the failure was getting progressively worse. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer more than once and they were not able to diagnose and replicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to dealer, where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000.

I was driving in a parking lot approximately 15 20 miles per hour, iapplied the brake to slow down to an appropriate speed in order to go around a corner, the truck then accelerated causing me to jump the curb and hit the mail boxes. The truck accelerated to approx. 30-40 mph.

My truck was sitting in a parking lot; doors locked.came out of work to find my rear window shattered and blown out into the bed of the truck.called police, informed was not due to criminal mischief.called dealership to inquire on warranty, was told could possibly be covered under warranty.once there, maintenance assistant manager informed me that the window had been tampered with and is not covered under nissan's warranty and to file a claim through my insurance company.went to safelite for replacement of this said window and was informed to check for a recall for this vehicle as another manufacturer had admitted to having faulty windows installed and windows will shatter for no apparent reason and that he has seen many of my truck model come in for rear window shattering and nissan uses the same company as the beforehand mentioned manufacturer.the dealership has informed me that they have not seen this sort of issue before.have to mention that i purchased this vehicle new in november 2013 and is currently 5 months in age.can't imagine what would have happened if this window had shattered when i was driving.

While changing the passenger side rear tire of the 2013 nissan frontier, one of the wheel lug studs was found to be loose and went half way in. I tried to pull the wheel lug stud with my finger and it won?t come out. I tightened the other four nuts on the wheel lug studs and started to drive to the dealer. While driving on the parkway close to the resting area, i felt like my rear passenger side wheel locked up, i stopped the vehicle and i looked at the rear wheel lug stud that felt like it was stuck halfway in the wheel. One of the two truck drivers asked what the problem was. I told them that i am having a problem with the rear passenger side wheel lug stud because the wheel lug stud seemed to be caught in the brakes. Tow truck driver took a very small screw driver and pushed the wheel lug stud further in and asked if i could move my truck. The wheel got free after he pushed the wheel lug stud further.i was able to move the vehicle in to the parking lot. I called one of my friend, a retired auto mechanic.he came over and opened the wheel and took out the wheel lug stud and the vehicle was drivable. I asked him to take the vehicle to the dealer. This retired mechanic told me that usually these wheel lug stud are supposed to be sealed and shouldn't be loose and wobbly. This could have been very life threatening if this had happened while driving 65 mph on the parkway.
