Nothing happened to me yet. But i've been reading reports of this frame rust the same way in other trucks. I think there's integrity issue with the frame nissan made. The rest of my truck is flawless no body rust. Was there a recall put out i just haven't heard of it? i just want to report it to make sure that nissan might be aware of the problem.
I took my 1994 nissan 4x4 pickup truck in for a water pump and exhaust system to a nissan dealer.i was told that they would not repair the truck because the frame is so rusted that it is unsafe to drive the truck.this vehicle has 118,000 miles and was not used for anything other then daily transportation to work and back home.
Timing belt guide went bad, eating up the timing belt cover, and causing oil leakage.dealer has been notified, and is offering no help. *ml

I have a 1994 nissan 4x4 pickup xe with 118,000 miles on it.i took it in to a nissan dealer because i needed a water pump and exhaust system repaired.i was informed by the dealer that they would not make the repair because the frame is rusted through on the left side of the truck and the truck is unsafe to drive.how can this be possible, this is not a truck that is used off road or for any 4x4 activities.i purchased a nissan because i was under the impression that a nissan will basically last forever.i can not afford to buy another vehicle and feel that nissan should stand behind their product.i have never heard of such a thing in my life that the frame is rusted and unsafe to drive.
Second occurrence of exhaust manifold leak due to broken bolts/studs. First occurrence was on passenger side manifold (repaired 3/98 @ 55028mi.)causes loud engine noise and occasional smell of exhaust fumes.nissan will not cover repair although tsb has been issued and numerous claims for this issue have been filed.
1994 nissan pickup with 3.5 v6 engine. Manifolds break loose. I've talked to a lot of people who have had the same problem. My mechanic sees it all the time. $2000 dealer repair. Internet search shows many similar problems. Heavy fumes in cab of truck. Fire risk.*nlm
For the past several years, i've had problems with the right taillight on my 1994 nissan pickup.i've tried to have it repaired on several occasions thus far it has been unsuccessful.i am not able to get my truck past state inspection because of this issue.in looking up recalls online, i noticed that there was a recall for taillight failure from 1995 forward and wanted to know if 1994 was also impacted.

The contact owns a 1994 pick up.the contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic for service.the technician inspected underneath the vehicle and noticed severe frame damage.the frame exhibited holes and excessive rust corrosion from the inside to the exterior of the cab.the vehicle has not been repaired.the failure mileage was 110,000 and current mileage was 116,000.updated 1/6/09 updated 01/14/09.

Nhtsa needs to take a very hard look at the frames on nissan trucks from the early/mid 90's because the following problem could cause a fatality.my 1994 nissan pickup has failed virginia state inspection due to a severely rusted section of frame.according to the mechanic, the frame has rusted through from the inside and as a result an8 inch crack has developed over the passenger side rear wheel area.the drivers side rear wheel area appears to be forming a similar crack as well.i live just outside of washington dc (not a salt water climate) and i purchased the truck new in 1994. The truck has always been located in this area.over the last few days i found several other instances on the internet where individuals have similar experiences with the pathfinder frames manufactured in this time period.clearly, a 12 year old truck shouldn't have this kind of problem.i have no choice at this time but to scrap this vehicle because the repair costs would be prohibitive and there is a question of even getting someone to repair the rusted frame due to liability on the part of repairer.i have taken some pictures of the problem area(s).if nhtsa would like copies of these, please let me know.

Truck leaks dirt inside cab, causing difficulty seeing when driving on a dirt road. *dsh
I have a 1994 nissan pu d21 . I just noticed that the frame has a rusty hole on the frame at the front on the passenger side . For my safety and others i can't drive this truck . I hope nissan will pay attention this issue before someone get killed .
I have a 1994 nissan xe pickup that has about 80% of the frame completely rusted through. This truck has always been garage kept.i have talked to several people on the internet and they have had the same problem.the story i got was that nissan was buying their steel from a different source than it normally did and that for those years (92-95 i think) the frames on the pickups and pathfinders rusted out within about 10 years.
Dangerous rust on the frame. Only on the passenger side. Soon truck will be unable to pass inspection.

The structural frame of the truck is rotting out in varying degrees throughout the truck. Creates a safety issue if in a vehicle accident the structural integrity of the truck may fail and cause a great deal of injury to the occupants of the vehicle. The rotting was not noticed (although it was frequently checked for) until the frame literally cracked open while it was sitting in the garage.

The contact owns a 1994 nissan king cab. The contact stated that while having routine maintenance performed the mechanic advised him that the sub frame was severely covered with rust. They also advised him not to drive the vehicle due to the severity of the rust. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and current mileage was approximately 225,000. The vin was unavailable.

I have a 1994 nissan truck, which i bought new.truck runs great hardley and rust on body.i was driving truck on 11-19-2008 and heard a loud bang. Truck darted to the right and just about wrecked.i pulled over and looked under my truck.my front a-arm strut mount rusted and broke from my frame.thankfully no one was killed or injured.i looked at my frame and the entire frame is rusted completely.not just a spot here or there but entire frame is literally falling off the truck.i am to afraid to drive truck and noone will repair due to condition of the frame.the truck had been well cared for and should not be rusted.i did some research and found thousands of people who have the same issue.it appears that toyota had the same problem and purchased their faulty trucks back.nissan should do the same before more people are killed or injured from their faulty product.

1994 nissan pickup, rusted frame. Unsafe to drive but have no choice need to get to work. Nissan should be made to buy these vehicles back at a reasonable price. Toyota bought back there trucks with rotted frames. Hopefully i don't get hurt or moreso an innocent driver.

Frame broke loose in 7 spots once a week i was patching then i would find a new spot but now from is to soft to even put a jack under it to get the spare tire on i finally had to retire it. But this truck only has 81000 on it.

Consumercomplained about firestone tireatx wilderness. 30x95r15lt dot. While driving vehicle at 40mphit had heavy vibration. Dealer was notified. Consumer stated this tire was defective frommanufacturer. Please provide further information.information.
The tire blew out on i10 just right outside of gulfport ms.it was a very hot day.i checked that the tire was properly inflated (30psi) before i left home.i did not hit/run over anything.i believe that this tire should be considered for a recall as this is the first tire i have ever owned to blow out.( dot number: vdkc41a117 tire size: 205 75 r14 )
Back tire blew and the truck went out of control then the front driver side blew and the truck roll trowing several of the passenager out on the freeway.

Firestone wilderness at tires (p235/75r15) experienced tread separation, consumer replaced all 5 tires after having only 17000 miles on them, consumer requests reimbursement.
While consumer was driving,heard a loud noise.pulled over to check, but it was too dark to see what happened. Next day,noticed tread was missing fromtire. Contacted firestone, and they wanted consumer to mail tiresto firestone. Original equipment,tire size is p195/ 75 r14.dot w2kaf28
The 2 front firestone (p195/75r14) tires experienced tread separation, the consumer is requesting reimbursement for the replacement tires.
While driving at highway speeds notice truck start to shake violently. Looked out left mirror and seen a bubble in my left rear tire. Stopped vehicle found tread was raised up about an inch high for about 12 inches in length and half the tread width. Put spare tire on and proceeded with extreme caution to my destination. Firestone would only replace the one tire due to it not being a recalled model yet. Changed all four with competitors tire. Spouse spoke with firestone over the phone and they said until it gets recalled they will only replace the one. Spouse also used you site to download info regarding this matter and we continue to check for updates on the situation.( dot number: vd60axc096 tire size: 31x10.50r1 )
Pe00 020; consumer was traveling about 70mph onhighway she heard a noise. Looked though rearviewmirrior andsawtire tread flying down the highway. Right front tire had separated. Firestone fr440, size p195/75r14 and dot # ejp9djd096.there were no injuries.she tookvehicle to firestone, andattendanttold her that they wouldn't replace tires because they weren't on recall.when the tire tread separated, it ripped off the fender lining and damaged the fender.
Engine check light remains illuminated, indicating a malfunction within the system, cause unknown.please give any further details.
