There are many people that suffered from injury's and thank god i am not one, but it shoulden't take me or my loved ones to suffer from a injury that can be avoided. Dt received a noticed from person i bought the vehicle from. This letter states that nissian offering new air bag that was is made better and to be installed in my vehicle at no charge to me. It does sound like a recall. Have contacted dealer they said this does not show this in their systems and had me to contact nissian north america. Contacted nissian and they had me fax this letter to them once on may 31st, june 10th, and june 23rd. Have still not heard anything back from nissian.have also left messages and still no contact back from nissian.

As consumer was completing a turn to pull forward onto the road,with no prior warning. The air bags deployed accompanied by a fire. *phthe consumer had contacted nissan for two reasons #1 there was no impact of any kind or accident and #2 nissan engineers should find out why the air bas deployed own it's ownbecause consumer safety is involved.

This complaint is none of the above but i could not find a link on this site for my specific complaint, therefore, i am using this to air my complaint.my complaint is with nissan north america.my problem is a result of a recall on my 1995 nissan, altima.my problem is a result of the airbag recall last year.i took my car to tischer nissan in laurel, maryland in january 2004.the panel in my car was damaged as a result of the airbag replacement.i would not have a need to complain if the replacement panel was the same color as the original panel.i wrote to nissan in gardena, ca to complain of the terrible service i received at tischer and the damage and poor replacement of my car panel.nissan ignored me until i contacted the maryland office of consumer protection regarding my problem.nissan ignored me until the office of consumer protection intervened.when nissan did respond, their tone was arrogant and indifferent and to make a long story short, they told me that the panel replacement was incidental to the airbag replacement and this occurred to other vehicles that had the airbags replaced.i find it hard to believe that this is the case and if it is, i personally have a problem with my "property" being altered without my consent and nissan's attitude and stance that that have fulfilled their obligation to me.i responded back to them basically informing them that their reply was and is unacceptable to me and i contend that they damaged my property by replacing a panel they damaged with a panel that is not the same color.i don't know of any other agency to voice my complaint to.i am asking your assistance in finding out what i can do.thank you.

I asked the dealer to not to do any work on this . Dt*: the contact stated while at dealer to pick up the vehicle, personnel of the dealership was observed putting a device under the dash board. The contact expressed that the dealer damaged the battery intentionally.when the dealer was replacing the battery cable by taking the steering column apart, the forced used to put steering column backed into place caused the battery to mess up andbattery cable became fractured.

Rusting cross member bar of the radiator core of all nissan altima from 1995. Upon inspection i noticed the cross member bar of the radiator corecompletely rusted.no rust anywhere except for this area of vehicle.part should be recalled due to inferior workmanship of the steel this is a serious and dangerous problem because it supportsengine components and may cause an accident it the parts give way under the rusted support structure.

A gasket on my engine started leaking at around 64000 miles.i did not realize that it was a gasket until about 72000 miles when i reported it to nissan.since the car was no longer on warranty nissan didnt want to do anything about it.the leak is on a section of the motor that is between the block and the oil pan.nissan used silicone vtr to seal these two parts.nissan should have used a standard paper type gasket.this gasket should not have started leaking at this mileage.a nissan maechanic that i spoke to at grossmans nissan in old saybrook, ct told me that this was a typical problem on this motor and has seen the problem quite a few times on altimas.this oil leakage could be very hazordous if it caused the engine to seize up on the highway.

Front passenger's side has an oil leak from a defective seal.
Constant oil leak.possibly leaking from behind the timing chain cover or the oil pan.the goodyear mechanic who checked my car said he had another customer with the same problem and i know others with the same vehicle which have the problem as well.

A great deal of oil is leaking from the front seal on the timing cover.this is a very common problem with the 1995 nissan altima and nissan has issued at least three service bulletins regarding this problem, two service bulletins were issued in the first year of production (1995)!!this defect requires a repair cost of approximately $750, and should be a recall where nissan bears the cost of replacing such a quickly occurring and obvious defect.

While sitting in vehicle, with the engine running and foot on the brake, consumer states the engine suddenly revs at a very high rpm, before consumers foot is removed from the brake, the vehicle is put into neutral and that stops the engine from revving.
An oil leak from the front of the engine was noticed @ 56,000 miles. The dealer resealed the oil pan on visit #1(56,733 mi.), replaced the crank seal on visit #2(59,889 mi.), and tighted the timing cover on visit #3 (62,371 mi.). After researching the nhtsa site, i found that this particular problem has been well-documented with regard to tsb's from 1995 and many owner complaints. The dealer should have diagnosed this problem from the beginning as the leak continues as of this date.

My 1995 nissan is effected by a known service defect concerning an oil leak in the right front of the engine. Upon contacting my local nissan service center they informed me that almost all 1995 altima'a are effected by this defect, the defect is not an official recall, and it would be my responsibilty to have the repairs made at my expense. Escalating this to the national nissan hot line proved ineffective. The defect is documented in the following technical service bulletin: service bulletin number: ntb95-058a . Can anything be done?

The oil seal on this distributor assembly, part # hit-84255e failed which resulted in oil leaking into the distributor which made it impossible for the distributor to throw out a spark and thus would not run at all.this part costs over $400.00.

Could not shift into reverse. Vehicle could only move in a forward direction. Vehicle could not engage overdrive. Engine revvedat 4000+ at 30mph.engine light came on. Vehicle was towed to courtsey nissan of plano tx. Immediately.service manager indicated that no recalls for this problem were ever issued.solenoid r, carrier assembly and gasket were replaced.service mgr. And technician confirmed this was a failure of the transmission system with no known cause. Basically , they could not or would not explain why this happened.
The first problem was the transmission which by the dealership that serviced my car said is unsual.then on about a month later this part known as a distributor component failed.i have spent over $2500.00 on repair cost in the last two months.i am sure something this is not normal.

My altima was purchased in january, 2002 with about 67,000 miles on it, and it is a 1995 model. I have had to take it in more than seven times and have paid at least $2,000.my main complaint is that i have had to go in three times to repair my gear shift.it repeatedly locks into the park position and in order to turn the car on, you have to put it in neutral then start it.whenever that has happened, my brake light stops working also.i do not know how i get from place to place safely when my brake lights go out.i am not able to drive around without brake lights, therefore, i lose money because my work requires that i travel by car on a daily basis.the mechanics keep repairing the same electrical fuses, which must be faulty because whenever they are replaced, the gear shift works and the brake lights work.less than six months later, i am back at the mechanic to have the same thing repaired again.my car is parked indefinitely because the brake lights are out again and i have to start the car by putting it into neutral again.i do not think i should have to pay for this problem again!!!!!!ps i do not know what oem means which is why i have a yes and a no answer....

I stopped my car at the base of my driveway and put the gear shift lever on park to check my mailbox. I left the car running while i did that.as i glanced at my mail, the car slowly rolled up my driveway (no one was in the car, and the gear shift lever remained in park) and crashed into a large tree about 40 feet beyond my driveway. When the tow truck driver pulled my car back onto the driveway, he said that the shift lever was still in park. I suspect that my car was a "victim" of nhtsa campaign id number 94v165000.

I was stopped on interstate due to collison in front of me i was struck from behind my drivers seat broke backward, i struck the car infront of me and my air bags deployed,i was struck in the rear again.after the collison i cllimbed out of the car and immediately notice it was on fire.the fire began in the driver side rear of the car. My concerns are the seat breaking backward and the fire.

Brake pads are wearing prematurely because pot holes are clogging, allowing too much fluid to enter onto brakes, could cause accident.

Rusting cross member bar of the radiator core of all nissan altima from 1995. After reading several articles on line about the rusting cross member bar of the radiator core of all nissan altima and maxima cars from 1992-2006 and their re-badged infiniti cars i decided to check my vehicle which only has 41500 original miles and kept in a garage most of the time owning it. I am the first owner and kept this car in mint condition. Upon inspection i noticed the cross member bar of the radiator core was completely rusted in the center like what is affecting all the other vehicles of this model. My car is well cared for and has no rust anywhere except for this area. The contact owns a 1995 nissan altima.the power door lock locks and unlocks all of the doors in the vehicle except the front passenger door.the door also cannot be unlocked or locked with the key.the vehicle has been diagnosed twice by two different mechanics and they both stated that they would have to take the door apart to make the repair.the repair has not yet been performed.the failure mileage was 102,000.

The paint on the car oxidizes repeatly.i can wash it polish it and wax it to remove the oxidation, but within 7 to 10 days the oxidation will return.i have never seen anything like it.

Started parking vehicle and it started to revvery fast; foot on brakes & vehicle suddenly took off & hit brick wall of restaurant; air bag did not deploy; took to dealer & found nothing wrong.

Gas pedal stuck while driving at thirty five mph.i had to pull the pedal up with my right foot.the vehicle was towed to the dealer.the dealer advised that the cable going from the gas pedal to the throttle was wearing away everytime i accelerated.i had to pay for the repairs.i feel this is more of a safety hazard, than a wear and tear item.the vehicle has low mileage and has been regularly serviced at the dealership.the servicing dealership was not the dealership that the vehicle was purchased at.the servicing dealer was reed nissan (orlando fl) although i am very pleased with the service they provide.
