The contact owned a 2003 nissan 350z. While driving 25 mph, a vehicle ran a stop sign which caused the contact to crash into another vehicle on the rear driver side. The air bags deployed. The contact sustained extreme injuries to the right eye and a fractured right arm, which required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000. The airbag light on the dash recently started flashing in this vehicle while my wife was driving. We took it to the dealer to get it diagnosed and they said the left side airbag module was faulty and that both it and the sub-harness would have to be replaced. Upon researching the issue, it appears that this seems to be a common problem with these cars. Interestingly enough, this same part was recalled on my own car, a 2004 infiniti g35 coupe, also a nissan product. I contacted nissan's consumer affairs dept. To see if they could offer some assistance in resolving this issue because the dealer quoted 723$ to get it repaired. Nissan would not offer any assistance because the car was beyond any warranties... True the car is now 13 years old, but it has been pretty much a garaged its entire life and has only about 28,000 miles. There was no reason for these parts to go bad other than being defective... Considering how crucial these parts are for passenger safety, how common this issue is, and the 350z's not so stellar reputation for safety, one would think a recall would have been issued already.

I was rearended at aproximatly 45 mph. The driver's side airbag did not deploy. Also the driver's side seatbelt did not lock. The passenger side airbag deployed and the seatbelt locked. I obtained serious injuries to my back for which i am seeking physical therapy for right now.

Air bag warning light illuminated on dash yet airbag for nissan recall on airbags not listed for 350zof any year??light came on for no reason (no accident or fender bender-except defective??).an airbag was replaced when still under warranty in 2005 or 2006.

I own a 2003 nissan 350z which was purchased in march of this year.the carhas approximately 4,000 miles to date.i was recently in an automobileaccident where the result of the crash was in the front of my car.i was traveling 30-35 miles an hour when the crash occurred.thankfully i was wearing my seatbelt because my airbag did not deploy whilethe passenger side did deploy.i feel this is a serious defect in this car.if i was not wearing my seatbelt, i could have been seriously hurt.the results could have been tragic if the accident was at a higher level ofseverity due to the fact that my(driver's side) airbag did not deploy!

I hit another car on the highway(rear ended) my passenger side airbag deployed ,but my side (driver) did not deploy .

The consumer request that an air bags on/off switch be installed in her 2003 nissan 350z.

In 2005, i bought a 2003 nissan 350z. In early november of 2011, i started having these problems. The engine would die suddenly while driving, the check engine and tcs lights would come on, and the car would run very rough once it did decide to start. I took the car into a nissan service center on 11/08/2011. The mileage according to the service invoice was 83,906. Along with the problems noted above, the service technician added diag p0340 and c1130 stored, loss of engine signal. Replaced camshaft and crankshaft sensors. My cost for the repair: $618.61. My car had not one, but every symptom of a recalled car. The camshaft and crankshaft sensor (very specific repairs) were needed to correct the problem; same as a recalled vehicle. After bringing this to nissan's attention, i was contacted by a regional manager who stated my car was not on the recall list and she could not help me.i hope no other vehicles engines shut off while on the interstate.

Carhas less than 66000 miles yetit shut off while driving on highway. Appears to be electrical/alternator/recharge issuean alternator is not supposed to fail at such a young & tender mileage.if car shuts off in a high speed hwy situation some one can get killed!!!my wifes honda civic has 240k with original alternator!!

Camshaft position sensor failure causing the engine to stall during operation. Vehicle is hard to restart after failure. This may cause a potentially serious accident because of sudden engine failure.

I own a 350z bought brand new in 2003.i was one of the 1st in baltimore for i did not see another z for six months.i have had a new transmission put in at 36k due to a failing 3rd gear synco and now at 80k the 5th.i am about to put in my 5th window motor in.nissan does not care about us so don't even waste your time with 1800nissan1.they should feel privileged that we allow japanese to sell cars here in the us and should be penalized when they fail.i will never ever buy a nissan again and i go as far as getting my nissan's oil changed at toyota so i do not promote nissan any further.quite a lemon.tacoma has 90k and only oil changes.

Various gauge failures, usually involving the fuel gauge and/or the oil pressure gauge and corresponding low pressure warning lamp.vehicle rendered non-drivable due to inability to monitor engine oil pressure.3 gauge clusters have been replaced, 1 unified meter computer, 1 fuel pump/level sensor assembly.problem continually re-occurs.

This is the second time this incident happens to this car. 1st time 9/23/04 driving along and engine stopped running, it would start but ran rough and would stop running again and again. Had it towed to gwinnett place nissan in duluth ga (the closet dealership to my home)-they couldn't find anything wrong with my car - so i was stuck with wrecker fee.2nd time-- 8/16/05 had to slow down due to traffic, and when i shifted into 3rd gear to speed up again engine stopped running. I shifted into neutral and started it again, once placed into gear it stopped running.i pulled over and tried idling between 3000 rpm and noticed that engine surged b'tween 2500 and 3000 rpm. And ran rough. If i released accelerator engine would idle very low and stop running.started it one last time to see if i could get going but when i placed it in gear and released clutch it stopped running.i called gwinnett place nissanand had vehicle towed there. I informed the service tech that in nissan's web site there was a recall for 350z for a "crank position sensor" and the vin# in my car was within that group.he looked at their database and said there were no outstanding codes for my car.they found nothing wrong with my car the second time around neither.both occurrances, dealership stated there are no stored codes in ecu and no pending codes for this vehicle.i called nissan north america national consumer affairs at 888-737-2647 and they stated that there was a recall for my car and the vin # was within the range stated by nissan - andgave me a file # 5039832and are still checking to see if they can help me.

My 2003 nissan 350z was exhibiting the exact symptoms of a nhsta recall number 03v455000 ( nissan number r2202) recall. I contacted nissan dealers and nissan consumer affairs with my vin and was told it didn't fall under the recall. I then took my vehicle to the nissan dealer service department to have it diagnosed and the dealer concluded that both (2) cam position sensors and the crank position sensor, were failing and needed to be replaced at a cost to me of 378.86 which i paid and have had the vehicle back only a few days (<100 miles) but so far seems to have resolved the issue. I again contacted nissan consumer affairs and was told there was nothing they would do. I further explained my belief that the recall was more widespread than initially thought by nhsta and nissan to no avail. I have spent 20-30 hours doing online research as to what would cause the issue and it all seems to lead back to the recall symptoms. I further realized that many other people experienced the same issue but can't speak as to their specific solution and therefore thought it prudent to try and bring it to the nhtsa for further study and database information. I would very much appreciate the nhtsa assistance in this matter to have the money i spent reimbursed to me by nissan consumer affairs as i believe this repair should have been under the recall.thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Intermittently engine interrupts preventinga cold start. Vehicle was towed to the dealership, and mechanic replacedbattery, twice, but the problemrecurred.

I purchased a nissan 350z on 2-25-2003 and have taken it into the dealership, three consecutive times for the same problem. The battery is being drained by some type of electrical short and they cannot find it or fix it.

My service engine light came on after the car had trouble starting. It finally started, and as i was driving to work, my car shut off while driving on the freeway. This was tremendously dangerous considering i was driving on a busy freeway. I have contacted nissan, and even though my vin number falls within the cam shaft sensor report range, i was told my specific vin number is being refused. The check engine code was indeed for a cam shaft sensor. The recall campaign is r3022.

I just bought a pre-owned nissan 2003 350z in august.. Oct 5 i had car stall on me twice. I drive a truck for a living so after that i went on the road.. When i came back i drove car and it stalled again at about 35 and then it didn't want to start.i got it started and the "service engine light" came on.it stalled 2 more times in motion after that and i brought it to nissan.. They wanted to charge me $689.i then tookit to my personal mechanics shop who charged me $375 for the same thing with nissan parts.. I go home and find out that there was a recall #r2022 on the 2003 350z nissan.. It shows under the nhtsa that this was a safety issue and could result in crash..when i called nissan on this they told me my vin doesn't fall under the recall. If this was a safety issued recall then all the 2003 nissan 350z should be under it.i checked online and found lots of other people that had same issues so its a hazard for sure yet nissan is only backing up some of the vins under this safety issued recall... Plz help and tell me what i can do to get my $375 back...

My car shutoff as i was driving.the mechanic said it was the cam sensor and there was a recall on it.nissan says my car isn't covered under the recall that explains the exact problem: recall campaign number: 03v455000 my check engine light came ontuesday and my car shutoff while i was driving causing a very dangerous condition if i was going faster on a highway.the car wouldn't start and i had to have it towed to the dealer where they aren't willing to fix it under the issued recall for the exact same problem!!

My wife was driving the 350z on the highway and slowing down with traffic ahead. The engine stalled all of a sudden.the cars behind could have smashed into her and kill her.luckily that did not happen.i searched the internet, it looked like there were many cases of 350zs stalling.internet told me that it was caused by faulty camshaft position sensor, which was exactly what nissan dealer in dublin california replaced.in fact they replaced both camshaft position sensors.check engine light did not come on when the vehicle stalled as indicated by the dealer.the engine would not start despite many tries.after 10-15 minutes or so, the engine started and the check engine light came on.some of the 350z was recalled.however dealer indicated that my vin number is not on the list.i feel the nissan should pay for my $674.44 repair bill as it is very dangerous for a vehicle stalling while driving.

I have a random misfire of po300 and no one can find the problem. I have reached and found this is a nissan recall

My car for the last year will drive 5-7 miles and stall in regular traffic. We replaced the fuel pump. I finally have enough $ to take to nissan. I need this investigated

The incident first occurred during highway driving where the engine suddenly lost power completely.since the manual transmission was in gear, the engine "push started" itself with a violent surge motion and regained power.this happened about three times on this trip.when i got off the freeway, this happened as i slowed for a stoplight and the engine stalled completely since i was not in gear.this problem seems to be very dangerous since all engine power is lost at high speeds and the jolt that results from the "push starting" can cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle very easily.this problem happened intermittently but did not cause a check engine light until last week.it is showing code p 0340 and i have found that nissan is aware of this issue, but does not recognize it as a being associated with my vin number- this is hard to believe since my car was produced about a year before the recall notice (recall id #03v455000) was issued.i was informed by nissan representatives that the only way to appeal my vin#'s applicability to this recall is through the nhtsa. My case # with nissan is[xxx].thanks for your help!information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I own a 2003 nissan 350z, while driving at approximately 30mph, there was a sudden loss of power, and the check engine, vdc ,and slip lights all came on.engine now runs sluggishly.i fell this is related to the nhtsa recall campaign 03v455000, but that campaign only allows for a very small vin range of 2003 350zs.i have read many instances of this failure and situation online.

The vehicle turned off in the middle of a rainstorm when i was driving on the highway and ended up on the road where i didn't have much of a pull out which could have been disastrous if another vehicle had not been aware due to the conditions on the roadway. The result of this is due to burning of oil which the manufacturer has no idea of what causes this! they just order a consumption test and rarely does what they are supposed to! which is replace the motor as they did in my case but not without a fight!i went to the bbb whom ordered nissan to replace the motor along with other fixes for suspension and window motor but those are separate issues. They replaced motor but it still ended up breaking down again twice after and they don't want to fix! it broke down about 6 thousand miles after the new motor.

2003 nissan 350z shuts down in traffic without warning. Nhtsa has this car listed on their recall list but the manufacturer says there is no recall on my particular vehicle. I contacted nissan, theytold me there was nothing they could do until i had it diagnosed by a dealership. I went to my local nissan dealership and had my car diagnosed and they said it was the cam position sensor which would cause the car to shut down without warning, the service engine light goes on, the tcs light, and slip light, light up after restarting and it takes a few cranks to restart. So after spending $88.00 to have this diagnosis done they still say sorry we can't help you. This is the vehicle that my son drives back and forth to college and as of right now he is walking because we are afraid to let him drive it until it is repaired. Do i feel this is a safety issue most definitely! driving 70 mph on the interstate and then all of a sudden shut down with cars behind you i feel is an accident waiting to happen! the car can not be driven like this, every time the car is used it happens more then once. These are the same exact symptoms that the recall lists. This has been happening since 3/25/11till the present.

Hello. My name is [xxx]. I own a 2003 nissan 350z touring edition automotive vehicle. On april 20th 2009, my car started stalling. I was stuck in the middle of cactus and scottsdale rd due to the following defect on the 2003 nissan 350z i own and drive.also, as i was driving the car, lights in the dash such "service engine soon" and other various lights warned me. I took the car to autozone the next day and they reported code p0340 which means the cam shaft positional sensors were bad. I took the car to the dealer on friday, april 24th 2009,and the dealer would not repair the auto under the 2003 nissan 350z recall bulletin-reference # ntb03-124. I spoke with [xxx] at the service dept. At pinnacle nissan of scottsdale and he said "this car is not in the recall campaign". I was unclear why he reported this especially when i have solid proof that the car's vin number was in the range of nissan cars that are recalled for this defect. I gave up after tim(the service advisor) could not repair the vehicle under the recall. I had the car towed to my mechanic that day to kelly clark automotive. Kelly clark was also unclear as to why nissan would not repair the car under the recall as well. Frustration continued further when nissan sales were calling me on the 26th and the following days, bribing me to come to the dealer and reimburse me the cost of the repair that i paid to get the problem fixed, given that i buy a new 350z from them. I felt violated and harassed and could not believe a dealer would have the audacity to ask me to buy a vehicle in order for them to pay for my repair on my current vehicle. ([xxx] in the sales department at pinnacle nissan stated this).the charges for repairs out of pocket that i paid were $454.65 to kelly clark to fix the problem related to the recall. I feel i should be reimbursed for these charges. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Service engine light came on and vehicle suddenly turned off without warning resulting in near crash. Took vehicle to service station and was informed it was the crank position sensor.

While driving on the freeway my car died out and tcs slip lights came on.there was a loss of power and i had to pull over to the side.while doing so i almost got into an accident because several cars almost hit me and the area that i had to pull over had a very small median.i restarted the car and every thing was fine.the next week the car died out many times while going up a hill on the way to the nissan service dealer.they changed 2 cam position sensors, and 1 crankshaft sensor.

2003 nissan 350z original owner.while driving around 40 mph, engine stalled, twice in 2 hours, check engine light came on.coasted to side of road, waited for maybe 15 minutes and engine restarted both times .i took the car to the dealership, left it with the service manager who drove it home that night to try & recreate the problem.was told if they could not recreate the problem there was nothing they could do.they could not recreate the problem.about a year later a recall was placed for the engine sensors but my vin number was not on the list, so no replacement.it has never happened since then. There was less than 20 thousand miles on the car at that time.

The contact owns a 2003 nissan 350z. The failure occurred in 2005 while driving 75 mph the vehicle shut off without any warning. The vehicle restarted on its own in 3 to 5 seconds. The failure recurred 4 times during an 18 hour drive. The nissan dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. Three days after the vehicle was diagnosed, the failure recurred. The dealer later stated that the heat may have caused the vehicle to shut off. While adding fuel to the vehicle and attempting to start the vehicle, it lost all power and the contact was unable to restart it. The contact opened the hood to observed that there were no wires disconnected and was able to restart the vehicle. The contact is aware of the risk and stated that the electrical system may have caused the failure. Therewasa faulty amplifier for the bose system in the2003 z for a few months.i have read a few articles about the poor quality amp that was installed ,and it seems that nissanwas aware of this situation, but when i talkingto the dealership, there was no recall, and it will be over $800 to replace. I believe that nissan should be held responsible for this malfunction, and should replace these amps. One of the channelswas faulty, which caused the left side ofthe car to lose audio output.

My car for the last year will drive 5-7 miles and stall in regular traffic. We replaced the fuel pump. I finally have enough $ to take to nissan. They came back with it needs all 2 cam shaft sensors and crank shaft sensor replaced. When i go on line and search my 2003 350z touring edition recall, there was a recall for this problem as it appears the wires can break inside due to temp on solder joints. I would like to know if this is this a problem that was noted on a recall and thisis an ongoing problem with this same model, why now am i going to pay nissan $1200 for the repair that should be covered. I need this investigated

While driving i heard a loud pop and felt a slight tremor on the clutch pedal which became very soft then stopped working making my car immobile after getting it home i pulled out the transmission and noticed that the pivot bolt for the clutch had broken off at the threads destroying the clutch and flywheel and after some online research i found out that it's happened to many other people and may be the reason i need to get my transmission repaired

I purchase this vehicle as second owner with 24,000 miles.after a 2 years of using this vehicle on the weekends, i start hearing the 5th gear grind.i did not paid to much mind because it did it now and them, not every time.4 years down the road, it did it more often and i knew it was in for transmission problems.. About a week ago my 3rd gear made a vibration and a horrible sound and that was when i knew something really wrong was going on..today my car lost 3rd gear, it won't take, after i put the vehicle on 3rd i accelerated and nothing happens.5th gear still grinds and but still work.it is not my clutch because 1st 2nd 4th and 5th and 6th still very strong pull.. Now i'm driving this car to work, getting money together waiting for the break down or transmission lock...i feel unsafe on the road, but i do have to get to work i have no other choice at the time. I hate mistreating my z this way....49,500 miles on the transmission..

Dt:consumer owned a nissan 350z track version 2003. He took vehicle to dealer for recall repair about a year ago. Consumer stated it was a recall, however, could not find recall on nhtsa web site. Ntb03-046was the number identifying the recall that consumer had. Repair work was done on 6-11-04. Then, on july 19, 2005 consumertook vehicle to gardena nissan in california, and they told him that the probleminvolvedfront tires wearing outon the inside during repair work they replacedthe right front compression rod. Consumer contacted nissan, and they told him that after recall and warranty repair work was only good for 10,000 miles. Consumer believed that recall repairs did not fix problem, per gardena nissan. Six months after consumer bought vehicle when shifting up or down at any speed periodically it will not go into gear. Nissan was aware of the situation, and they did not want to do anything about it.

Bought a 2003 nissan 350z used from keyes nissan of woodland hills,ca. Tiptronic (auto/semi-manual) transmission needed to be replaced within 45 days. Now a whining noise that is still not fixed as well as excessive heat from shifter area that causes passengers to sweat & scalding hot to touch. Car hasn't seemed to run right since.seems every 350z owner has the same atypical problems-tire feathering, transmissions replaced, rear axles, power window motors fail(the last 2 are my next trip to the dealer). Nissan needs to fix our nightmare. Nissan support is nonexistent as well, which makes your ordeal all the more miserable.

I have had my car for 9000 miles and the clutch gave out.it was replaced by the dealer and the same problem happened a few months later.

Nissan 350z clutch failure, 2nd time in first year of ownership. After muchhaggling, nissan replaced the clutch at 6000miles and it has just failed again at 13,000 miles. This is my third nissan, loyal customer. I have driven a manual transmission for 14 years and never replaced a clutch or transmission. This is a product defect that nissan is reluctant to acknowledge. There are hundreds of similar complaints on the internet.

I am wondering, why is there not a recall on the 2003 nissan 350z transmission? there has been more than enough complaints on this years transmission. It is very dangerous to drive, because the transmission locks out of gear. I cannot even put it into 1st gear on a dead stop and sometimes while driving it won't even shift into gear. I feel very uncomfortable being on the road and feel for my safety and other drivers on the road. I have done some research on this 2003 nissan 350z year and model; and multiple complaints, and i feel more than enough to get a recall. People just don't know where to go to report this problem. I just stumbled upon this myself. This is the only car i have to drive to work and school, and everytime i get in it, i feel unsafe and ask myself when is it going to lock up on me again? for a $30,000.00 +, i feel nissan owes us the right to have a car that is safe and drivable for many years to come. Please help me, what can i do to help you guys help all the owners of the 2003 350z 's feel that they have a reliable, dependable and especially safe car. Today,i was heading to the store to grocery shop, i could not shift into first or second gear at a light, and had multiple cars behind me. I started to panic, because they were all honking, so i turned off the car. The cars that went around me threw the bird at me and some belittled me with some curse words. It was shameful and embarrassing.so i told myself i had to do something about this, so i called friends for support, and they told me that this was an ongoing problem for the 2003 nissan 350z. The transmission is a big problem. Either grinding going into gear or locking out of gear. So then i ask myself, who do i turn to? and i found you guys after hours of researching. I need your help. We need this years transmission to be recalled, because it is dangerous for us as the driver, and all the other people on the roads. Nissan needs to step up to the plate and fix this problem, they know its there.

Manual transmission makes loud grinding noise when shifting between 2nd gear and 3rd gear.

I have a 2003 nissan 350z and i'm having problems with grinding when i shift into 3rd gear(manual) i have only 20k miles on my stock car no major modifications done. I have taken it to nissan and they tried to duplicate the problem but nothing was found and when they told me to drive it i found my car shifting like butter i was amazed on how smooth it was. After a few days the problem is back like it was temporarily fixed or something because it gradually started getting to where it was before i took it in. Now i don't know if i should take it back or am i stuck.i have done some talking with other "z" owners on a well known message board and over the years hundreds have got their transmission replaced and hundreds haven't depending on dealerships.

Transmission problems-grinding between 3rd and 4th gear sometimes in 5th when clutch fully engaged. Dealership stated to change flywheel and clutch.after about $1300 repairs, grinding still exists and nissan unwilling to replace transmission.

Shifting from 2nd gear - 3rd gear there is always a grind and i've searched on the internet and this needs to be a recall due to all the complaints that have been said on various websites.

Transmission problem with my 2003 nissan 350z. 3rd gear synchronizers are defective. Did a research and found hundred of other brand new 350z's having the same problem. Recall must be done.

Transmission grind when going from 2nd to 3rd.

When up shifting to 5th gear the transmission will grind at higher rpm's.also have some issues with the transmission "catching" as shifting in other gears, have to press hard to get it into gear at times.

Transmission grind going in and out of 3rd gear. Read all the reviews too late or never would have bought it. Car is dangerous this way and with the hundreds of complaints nissan should be recalling and replacing the transmission.

Grinding getting into 2nd and 3rd from 3k rpm to 6k rpm. No problem if under 3k rpm but i was under the impression i was purchasing a "sports car". I've had the car for 15k miles bough used with 40k on it but after warranty had expired. I am waiting to save for the cd009 transmission so i can replace with the "upgrade" and do the clutch all at once. Thanks nissan!

3rd gear grinds and transmission noises. I have spoken with over 200 people with the same problem. Dealer refuses to warranty problem due to aftermarket parts.

Purchased a brand new 2003 350z clutch blew at 9000 miles 11000 miles later clutch go's again this is not just the clutch its the transmission which makes this a horrible problem which means this is probally a lemon i recommend no 1 to purchase a 350z manual u must get automatic

The consumer experienced transmission problems. When driving in 5th gear, he was unable to change gears. Approximately 500 miles ago, the vehicles third gear blew out while driving.

There is a hesitation when shifting into third gear, and when it goes into gear, there is a grinding noise.dealership replaced the manual transmission, but the problem recurred 5000 miles later, and needed to be replaced again.

The contact owns a 2003 nissan 350z. The contact stated that while the vehicle was in third gear, he experienced manual transmission failure. It only failed when the vehicle was shifted into third gear or when shifted down to second gear. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. The current mileage was approximately 80,000.

Perforated leather seat in my 2003 350z popped open in hot weather. I was lucky enough to find the matching burnt orange leather on ebay and repaired locally. Additionally the regular leather on the seat is wearing extremely fast. It will have to be replaced as well. Burnt orange leather does not grow on trees around here. The mileage is low by many standards, but out of the 36k warranty window.

350z track model driver's seat moves side to side when turning. Makes a knocking noise and you feel the seat shift. Has been verified by hill nissan, but they say that there is no fix available for it, and that replacing the seat with a similar one would leave me with the same problem. They said if a fix became available, they would inform me. I am worried that the seat is not structurally sound. Date given for occurrence is a guess at first notice of it.it occurs constantly.

Problems with the front driver and passenger seats.*mrthe consumer observed abnormal seat wear on the front driver and passenger sides.a tsb was issued regarding this problem but the manufacturer has made to attempts at fixing the problem.

Driver's seat covered in leather started showing fatigue very early on after purchasing the car.matter was taken up with nissan dealer, car was bought from.eventually a hole wore through the leather on the bolster of the drivers seat.nissan to date has not made any attempt to cover defective upholstery.

My complaint is actually with nissan of america. I just purchased a new 350z and have a problem with the driver seat shifting and knocking. The dealearship agreed there seemed to be a problem and replaced the driver seat track but the same thing still happens. They said to contact nissan usa which i did. Nissan usa said they would get right back to me and still have not. It's been over 6 weeks now and they haven't bothered to return any of my calls or email. My file number at nissan usa consumer affairs is 4001914.the dealership has also filed a case with their tech line and the incident number is 556922.the person that handled the call is timothy and his employee number is 3662.in a nut shell i would say my complaint is about nissans inability to fix the problem with the driver seat.i feel it is unsafe and very annoying (it shifts around and is not solid).they in fact did try to repair the vehicle but were unsuccessful.now nissan usa is saying that it is by design the way it is.i would appreciate any help you might be able to provide in this matter.thanks, gordon mcelroy

350z track edition.driver seat shifts while cornering.problems seems to be with the manual adjustment in the lower seat portion.the lower part of the seat seems to be separate from the seat track and is not solid.when making left or right turns the seat knocks.this feels very unsafe, not to mention annoying.dealer has checked, but since there is no service bulletin on it, they are not sure what to do.i requested a replacement seat.we'll see.i wonder if this problem exists on power seats as well.

Increased noises heard when braking and both tires showed abnormal wear on the inside.*ph *la

The suspension problem is reoccurring, and mis-diagnosed a. Roar from front suspension under 40 mph.first attempted repair @ 7,279 miles. Changed brake pads and turned rotors. Attempt failed, roar remained.b. Roar & pulls to the right at highway speed.second attempted repair @ 7,720 miles. Changed right side compression rod. Pull to right corrected, roar remained.c. Roar severe, visual damage{feathering} on inside edge of front tires.third attempted repair @ 11,077 miles. Rotated front tires side to side, off rims {directional tires} also did four wheel alignment. Roars less, but still very noisy.at 12,000 miles noise increasing, new feathering now appearing on inside of front tires. This suspension problem not corrected

Tire feathering, on front end seems to be non-correctable resulting in repetitive premature replacement of tires. I was told by service mgn. That caster adjustment is at full, and can not correct for the towin causing the tire wear.

Jan 03 the brakes would squeal loudly when braking in cold weather.the two front tires continually lost air and needed to be refilled every 3-4 weeks.upon dealer inspection, nothing was found wrong.upon recall notice of the growling of the tires (around april 04) the vehicle was brought into the dealership and the two front tires were replaced.the vehicle had to be brought back twice due to the alignment being done incorrectly (steering wheel was crooked and slip & vdc off lights were illuminated).since the tire replacement, the two new front tires still lose air and need to be filled up every 2-3 weeks now.the tires occasionally squeal loudly when braking.dec 04 the dashboard was lit up with the following warning lights:1.brakes2. Vdc off3. Slipupon towing the vehicle into nissan (because the front passenger tire went mysteriously flat again), nissan dealer has advised that the front brake pads are worn through to less than 10% and need to be replaced.they also reported the front tires had no holes and the tire beading was fine.they suggested the tires go low and the warning indicator sounds because it is a sensitive car.it is my personal theory that the vehicle has a design flaw within the suspension and the vehicle is also placing too much weight and pressure on the front tires which has caused: 1. Growling2. Front tires to lose air3. Brakes to wear unreasonably fast4. Squealing when braking.the dealer has not been satisfactory in their responses or suggestions.the vehicle is in the dealer now; i requested they give me the worn brake pads when i pick up the car.

Paint on brand new 2003 350z was failing due to improper application.

"takata recall" passenger door will not open from the outside and tried getting the problem fix but no luck..

Suspension in car makes vehicle ride rougher than usual, making tires wear uneven.

Nissan 350z '03 suspension. *la

Tires feathering, possible suspension issues 350z.- dealer performed alignment and rotated tires per nissan tsb. Tires still featering. Dealer rechecked and says alignment to spec. Nna is aware of this issues but has not been able to do anything about it, nor contact us back on resolution.

The tires began to feather and wear unevenly within the first 5000 miles of owning the car.the tires began to cup.the car now has extremely loud road noise.it is loader than any normal sports car should be and is horrible to drive.it is very nerve racking.the tire wear could be dangerous and result in a flat or blow out.the tire wear is probably due to a suspension issue with the car. Nissan has service records issued. Nissan told the dealer to swap my two front wheels, but this did nothing.

Front tire feathering every 10-12k miles. The front tires have been replaced 4 times, this last time the tires only lasted 8k miles. Something has to be wrong with the suspension.

Fax from (md) re the problems he has experienced with his defective 2003 nissan touring model 350 z.the consumer stated he received a recall letter/tsb regarding premature tire wear and a roaring noise. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer and was told there was nothing wrong with the tires. The consumer tried to explain that he could hear the noise. The consumer examined the vehicle himself and could clearly see there was a problem. The tires were wearing on the inside toe. The dealer agreed to replaced the tires, however they had to be special ordered. The consumer returned to have the tires replaced. However, one month later within 3,000 miles the consumer had to return to the dealer for uneven tire wear.during the tire replacement for the second time, it was discovered that a rear strut needed to be replaced.the consumer requested a buy back of the vehicle due to the faulty suspension system of the vehicle.

While driving 20-30 mph a rumbling noise came from the front. Vehicle was taken to the dealer. Dealer replaced two sets of front tires ,and the front control arm. However, theproblem recurred.

I recently (9-13-03) purchase a 2003 nissan 350z track edition with 2500 miles.i purchased it at dobbs nissan in memphis, tn 38115.in purchasing the vehicle i notice a little road noise that i though was normal coming from a car with 18" wheels.it did not appear to be a problem at first.after my first service visit at dobbs nissan i notice the noise getting louder, i address this problem with tj (service advisor at jim keras nissan 2110 covington pike, memphis, tn 38128) along with a list of other problems.tj diagnose the noise and suggested that i rotate the tires, he also indicated that the tires are scheduled to be rotated at or around 5,000 miles.my response was that the car was making the noise when i first purchase the vehicle and that it progressivly got worse. After coming to a dead end at jim keras nissan about replacing the tires under warranty i pursued to contacting nissan usa refering to the entire service ticket, but specifically the tires.i was refered to firestone in which refered me to a local dealer (firestone 4035 austin-peay hwy, memphis, tn 38128).i was scheduledto bring my car in that evening.i meet with jesse ( store manager), he evaluated all four tires and inform me that the front tires were not defective but had uneven wear, possibly due to misalingment or worn suspension components.jesse also inform me that he didn't think it was the tires but, he was willing to absord 50% of the cost of replacing the tires per firestone's approval.he made a call to nissan usa (rep. Alex morgan) to get them to ok the other 50%.nissan declined that resolution.they (nissan usa & firestone) are using the consumer to slove issues that should be handled by their companies.i was given the run-around from both nissan and firestone.giving the nature of all complaints, i wonder when will nissan accept the responsibility of repairing or replacing whats wrong?i hope not when someone is hurt or killed!

I purchased a new nissan 350z in may of 2003. At approximately 7000 miles i noticed some strange noises coming from the tires. After inspection i realized there was very uneven tire wear on the front tires. I then began doing research as to why this was happening only to find out that nearly every new 350z is experiencing this problem. Nissan's "fix" is to rotate the tires but anyone with a brain can figure out this does not resolve the problem, only gets rid of the noise for a few thousand miles.the wear on my tires was so bad they could not rotate them and were forced to replace the tires. After tire replacement, i noticed an immediate change in handling. I believe the strange tire wear is causing less than adequate performance/handling/traction and could eventually become dangerous if left unfixed. There are many speculations as to why this is occurring but all 350z owners tend to agree that the front suspension on the vehicle is causing the problems. Nissan is trying to hide this issue from the broad public but more and more people are becoming aware of this. *la

There is a problem with the suspension of my 2003 nissan 350z, nissan is not addressing or acknowledging the problem. *la

Suspension on the 2003 nissan 350z is very harsh and makes ride noticably bouncy.newer models of the car have the suspension fixed, but nissan refuses to change out suspension on my vehicle

Nissan 350, problem with suspension causes tires to "cup" or "feather". This premature wear could be potentially dangerous.

Tire feathering, on front end seems to be non-correctable resulting in repetitive premature replacement of tires. I was told by service mgn. That caster adjustment is at full, and can not correct for the towin causing the tire wear.

I took my car (2003 nissan 350z) to my nissan dealership on or around september 25 to have the nissan tire feathering/cupping/road noise technical service bulletin performed due to excessive road noise when braking, and visibly uneven wear on the inside tread on all four (4) tires. Nissan's "fix" for this issues is to dismount the tires from the wheels and switch the tires left to right (because they are directional tires and cannot be "traditionally" rotated). Feathering/cupping came back less than 2000 miles later. I have an appointment scheduled for 10/16/2003 to have the issue looked at again, and also filed a report with nissan north america. Tons of other nissan 350z owners are having the same issue. This is not a fix for the huge problem nissan has with this car, and we need a final resolution! replacing the tires with new oem or other branded tires does not seem to rectify the issue either. I feel as though my safety, and the safety of others is jeopardized. The suspension or some other mechanical aspect is clearly not engineered correctly.*la

1> tires on new car wore out after 6000 miles2> alignment of new car off so bad at purchase, that tires were unsafe after driven a few thousand miles.3> dealer replaced front tires and realigned at 13,687 miles

2003 nissan 350z has constant problem with front suspension which causes tire noise, improper tire wear, and premature replacement of tires.nissan is unable to align the car or fix the vehicle in any way that avoids the problem long-term.replacing or rotating tires does not solve the problem, neither do alignments or balancing.dealer gives the customer difficulties when servicing the suspension under the factory warranty, and is not addressing the issue with the consumer, safety, or customer service in mind.

Front tires on my 2003 nissan 350z keep wearing out on insides due to suspension problems.

Tire wear caused by faulty suspension. After 3000 miles tires started to "roar" when coming to a stop and tire noise while driving begins to increase.

Suspension on my 2003 nissan 350z. There appears to be a design flaw that is causing cupping on the front tires. The dealer has remounted the tires on opposite wheels, rebalanced, and realigned the front end at aproximately 6700 miles (as per manufacturer) the cupping has reocurred at 8700 miles.

I leased my 350z in aug 2003 and on 7/22/2004 with 9128 miles on the vehicle i took it in for service due to loud roaring when braking in the front end.the dealer replaced the front tires and aligned the front at no cost to me.on 2/15/2005 with 13782 miles i have now brought the car in once again with the same growing noise and the dealer once again has stated i neednew front tires and another front end alignment.he stated that they would install at no cost to me but the warranty on this would be up after 8/23/2005.it appears that nissan has only a temporary fix on for this problem and i guess i will be responsible for the tires and alignment after the 2 years.

Consumer stated that while driving and without warning there having problems with the alignment wearing. Dealer notified.

I own a 2003 nissan 350z, enthusiast model.it is only 6 months old with 7500 miles, and the front tires (and to a lesser degree, the rears as well) have begun to feather.feathering is a type of uneven tire wear that causes very unpleasant road noise when driving and also sacrifices the life, performance, and reliability of the tire.feathering is caused by defective suspension design -- it is not a problem with tire design.experts note that feathering will happen when the suspension exhibits excessive toe-in.nissan has received multiple complaints regarding this issue from fellow members of a 350z forum of which i am a part, but it will not issue a permanent fix for it.(they have issued an immediate short-term fix, but the problem recurs in 2,000-3,000 miles after this fix.no permanent fix is available and nissan is just delaying the permanent repairs until warranty runs out with this temporary fix.)if you will, please look at my350z.com and search for "feathering" and you will see that a good majority of 2003 model owners are experiencing feathering problems.my car is completely to factory specification, and at this rate of tire wear, i am afraid the tires will have to replaced in less than 1,000 more miles.i am worried that fellow 350z owners that are unaware of this serious problem will be risking their lives, if they expect the tires to last 20,000 miles (the average), but they realize that at 20,000 miles they've been running on nothing but a bald set of tires.nhtsa, this is a very serious safety problem that needs immediate action.tires are the only things holding the cars to the road, and the tires on the 350z are wearing out at unbelievably fast rates.unsuspecting people will be injured because of this problem that nissan is aware of, but will not bother to fix.nissan must be forced to fix this issue, as they have simply been ignoring this.

Front end suspension problems is causing front tires to wear improperly(feathering) only after 4000 miles!

Suspension problem on my 2003 nissan 350z purchased 5/15/03. Causing tire feathering on front tires, which causes loud tire roar from 22 mph down to 0.

Premature, excessive, asymmetrical front tire wear on 2003 nissan 350z.tire wear is confined to the inside tread block ring only, circumferentially around the tire.indications are a raised heel and lowered toe pattern in the direction of the tread.this occurs on all nissan 350z's, and it's only a matter of time before tire failure results in serious injury or loss of life.see zcar.com for more complaints and details. Nissan's tsb solution is to realign the front end, and simply rotate the tire, transferring the abnmormal wear pattern and resultant hazard to the opposite tread block. Realignment does not correct the problem.nissan has put a dangerous new model on the road with a design flaw that eats tires at an extraordinary rate (5,000-8,000 miles!!!).unless fixed, the car is likely to become known as the corvair of the 21st century "unsafe at any speed".

Due to front suspensionfailure tires wore out prematurely.

Purchased 2003 nissan 350z in aug 02 and it had a suspension problem fromday one, it would pull hard to the right. At 2500 miles nissan realigned the front end toget it to run straight, but now at 11,000 miles the edges of the front tires are cupping. My nissan dealer has noted the tire wear issue, but did not or could not do any thing to correct or suggest new tires or a suspension fix. I am very concerned. *la

Suspension problem with 2003 nissancausing tire cupping every few thousand miles.

Nissan 350z.lost control of car just changing lanes at 45 mph.car spun sideway and when i tried to recover, steering was almost impossible as tires seemed to be just gliding wherever they wanted to go.i am just now connecting this incident to the just became aware of tire and front end problem that nissan seems to be having with this vehicle.i only wish somebody had told me my front end was not aligned and tracking correctly and that my tires were worn away on the inner edges.the failure to notify me placed me in a circumstance that allowed me to think the vehicle i was driving was safe and would respond when i needed it to.my initial thinking of a slick road, which really wasn't present,is now apparent to me to be a front end which can wander and cause abrupt alterations in tracking due to tire wear and improper alignment.fortunately, the only bruised item was the car.i hope it doesn't lead to a human. The consumers vehicle failed the massachusetts safety inspection because of bad tires.*tc

Front tires on my vehicle are feathering due to suspension problems. Manufacturer will not fix the mechanical problem. It is a nissan 350z 2003 under warranty with 7800 miles. I have had numerous tire inspections by different tire manufacturer's, all point toward suspension defect. Traction is less then 100%. Nissan is willing to replace tires but will not fix the actual problem caused by a suspension defect with this vehicle. Tires need to be replaced every 6000-8000 miles due to extensive wear. Car pulls to right excessively. Car is loud when driving and braking. Car is not safe to drive.

Tire cupping and feathering due to faulty suspension on 2003 nissan 350z causing car to veer to the right.

I own a 2003 nissan 350z which i purchased new. The cars tires began to make a loud noise, which i noticed around 2500-3000 miles. The noise was gradually increasing in volume as i added miles to the car. I took the car to the dealer at approximately 6500 miles when the noise became unbearable. The dealer re-aligned the front wheels and replaced the tires to address a "known problem" with alignment for which nissan had issued a service bulletin.i now have just under 14,000 miles on the car and have just delivered the car to the dealer to address the problem once again as the issue was not resolved by the alignment and tire replacement. The dealer was unwilling to align or replace the tires and claimed the warranty fix was a one time fix. I contacted nissan consumer affairs, and now i will be provided with an alignment and new set of front tires under an extended coverage nissan is calling "2003 350z front wheel alignment warranty extension". This warranty extension is addressing the same problem that i already asked them to fix under warrantee last year. The problem should be covered under the original warranty because it first appeared during the warranty period and was not fixed by the action taken by the dealer. This is a known problem with many of the 2003 350zs. Nissan is addressing the symptoms rather than fixing the problem in order to buy time. The problem is much more significant than a simple alignment and tire replacement. They are using deceptive practices to skirt around the problem in order to avoid developing and implementing a true fix for the issue. Under the "2003 350z front wheel alignment warranty extension" my extended warranty expires two years from the in-service date of my vehicle. That is october 2004 for me. At that point i will be stuck with a defective car that wears out very expensive tires in a fraction of the normal tire life with no means of recourse.

My 2003 nissan 350 z continues to "eat" front tires. I have replacedthe front tires 4 times and aligned once in under 12 months.my last set lasted a whopping 2 months and two days!i notified nissan of the problem in february-05, july-05 and twice in september-05 and have not received a return call as promised.nissan said they had "no" recalls or complaints of front tire issues during the first two calls.in august-05, i received a letter from nissan stating they were going to extend the warranty for front end alignment and possible replacing the tires for 03 & 04 350's. But as i was told in two earlier phone conversation, they knew of no problems.apparently during the month of august they decided to check into the complaints since they knew of none earlier...right!the letter states "nissan is truly dedicated to your satisfaction"!nissan has not shown any signs of dedicated to 350 z owners.i for one!looking in this site, i have found over 70 complaints on this problem.it's time to do something.

I have a recurring problem with feathering of the front tires and now the rear tires are cupped as well.first problem was noticed at 7,000 miles and nissan replaced the tires and realigned the suspension at around 12,000 miles. I noticed a lot of road noised and noticed feathering of the front tires at 19,500 miles and was confirmed all four tires cupped by my nissan dealer. Claim was filed with nissan consumer affairs and was notified today that they would not do anything about this.*la

Nissan 2003 z front end misalignment or production flaw causing extreme wear on front 2 tires. Causes tires to wear in 4k-5k miles. Dealer will only rotate tires and realign which is known not to fix the problem.

Suspension of car causes tires on the front of the vehicle to wear unevenly. Tire tread feathers and a loud roaring sound is very noticable. I took the car to the dealer back in the spring to correct the problem, but it has now returned.

Extreme irregular front tire wear (cupping) causing loud noise and vibration especially during braking.vehicle had approximately 4000 miles on it when first noticed.tires were replaced at 5000 miles and front end alignment checked (alignment was good).vehicle now has 9000 miles and the front tires are showing irregular wear again.manufacturer has no fix for the problem.*la

My 2003 nissan 350z has experienced tire/feathering on both front tires. Nissan replaced both @ 17,000 miles at no charge to me. Then @ 12,000 miles on 2nd set, same problem exists. Nissan says they will replace, but the dealer says tires are on back-order till april 2005. They offered no "buy back", or loaner. I could not wait till april 2005, so i traded the 350z. I traded because after my warranty period was to expire @ 36,000 miles, i would have had to pay approximately $600.00 per set to replace at 10,000 to 12,000 miles. The feathering of the tires made for very little traction, especially during rainy conditions. I also took quite a hit (trade-in was $6,000 less than kelly blue book). Nissan should be responsible for selling me a lemon>

My 2003 350z's tires were replaced by the dealer at 16,000 miles.i recognized the problem right before the recall.now at 27,000 miles i have the same problem with the back tires/alignment.i've been told by the contracted tire dealer which my nissan dealer sends it's work tothat the problem is with the alignment on the 2003 model and the problem has since been corrected on the 2004 model.i'm told that to avoid the improper wear on the tires (cupping) that i should have the alignment checked every 3-6 months.i was told that other than the tire noise(which when noticeable means serious improper wear), anotherway to tell that this cupping is happening is to put the car up on the rack.also, the car starts to have traction/handling problems.the problem cannot be seen in a visual check when the car is on the ground.i called the nissan headquarters and filed a complaint, but was told there was nothing they could do.at 27,000 miles i got the rear aligned and had to purchase two new rear tires.there is so obviously a problem that nissan is choosing to ignore.

Vehicle was taken todealer for the first 3000 miles regular inspection. Technician stated thatfronts tires needed to be replaced and front alignment done.

My front tires were replaced on my nissan 350z after only after 18000 miles, with a realignment after nissan recommended in the bulletin release released this year. Now after 33000 miles on my vehicle i am having to replace once again the front tires on my vehicle due to improper wear on the tires, the same as what happened at the 18000 mile replacement time. Obviously there is something wrong with 350z front alignment. Is there a class action lawsuit against nissan for defect of the front alignment, as i am not the only one this is happening to, and how to i go about joining the lawsuit?

A know problem with the front alignment of the 2003 350z causes front tire feathering.*la

Front tires are cupping on the inside due to issue with car.i had the car with 7,000 miles on it when i notice problems with noise and handling.at 11,000 the deal said it need to be re-aligned which they did and flipped the tires.now at 16,000 miles i have cupping on the inside and outside, which causes noise issues and handling problems.i'm taking it back to the dealer i have had enough.*la

I bought the car used in 5/05 with 15,000 miles.tires appeared new when purchased.car is only driven in the winter, i had the "roaring" noise and vehicle shaking effect roughly 5 months later.i brought the car to the dealer and told them about the issue.their solution was to replace the front brakes and rotors for almost $400.i did not notice the problem again until a relative drove the car in the spring of 06 and thought i was crazy because i was apparently ignoring the roar and shake of the vehicle when traveling at speed under 40 mph.i replaced the rear tires at the suggestion of my local garage for over $500 yet the problem persisted.i now have to replace the front tires for another $500 or so and the car only has 32000 miles.i have read the numerous (hundreds) complaints written about this problem and this is just ridiculous.why should nissan's shoddy engineering be my responsibility to fix?go to www.nissantireproblems.com and register for the class action suit......

Nissan 350 z owners have a severe problem with the suspension of there new car.nissan is not repairing this problem.they have addressed the issue with a tsb.this repair is just enough to get the owners passed there 12,500 mile warranty.the problem is that there is no adjustment for caster or camber on the 350z.the cars left the factory with an alignment problem, and there is really no repair available.this has left all 350z owners, replacing tires almost every 6 months.

I purchased a nissan 350z on 12/30/2002. I started complaining to the dealer about loud growling noise from the front end at about 5000 miles. The dealer stated that it was because of improper front end alignment. At 6000 miles the dealer performed a tsb which stated that the front end needed alignment an the front tires rotated (swapped from side to side). At that time they provided me with print outs of the vehicle alignment reports which shows that the vehicle was out of alignment and remains out of the nissan specifications in regard to the front caster which is causing the dangerous, abnormal andpremature wear of the front tires. The dealer states that there is no way to correct this out-of-spec condition. The front tires are now wearing unevenly on the inside again so the re-alignment has not corrected the problem and the dealer says they can not do anything about it.

I have a feathering problem with my front tires due to a front end suspension defect.my efforts with nissan corporation and the dealer (ed napleton nissan in north palm beach, florida) have been fruitless.the service department threatened to not service my car when i brought up the lemon law.the dealer then admitted to the problem (once i provided information that others reported this problem) and said they would try to get reimbursement for the tires.then the dealer then only offered tires at dealer cost (which was higher than a local repair shop who did install replacements).nissan corporation (yanique, customer service person) in california was both condescending and argumentative with me.the nissan representative advised that tire reimbursement is on a case by case basis.when i purchased this vehicle the dealer was advised that i would drive a significant number of miles commuting to work.thus, my vehicle first experienced this problem immediately following my 15k miles service.the dealer switched the front end tires and immediately afterward, i could hear the noise relating to the alignment problem.although i was advised by another nissan 350z owner that he experienced uneven tire wear, it didn't register with me until the tires were switched at 15k that there was a problem.i believe the dealer was buying time knowing that i will continue to place significant miles on this car and didn't reimburse me for these tires based on the same reasoning.the dealer states that they didn't manufacture the car or the tires and thus, they are not responsible.nissan is aware of this problem and have tried to keep the issue secret from the public.apparently there is not fix and a recent auto magazine article has identified 39,000 vehicles with this problem.i would hope that this complaint receives sufficient attention, since this problem is both costly to the consumer and could pose a safety problem due to poor traction of the front end tires.

Suspension design flaw on my nissan 350z track is causing premature wear and a possibly dangerous condition.

Nissan 350z tire feathering problem believe to be related to a problem with the suspension.

My front tires have been cupped and or feathered on the inside. It makes a very load roaring noise when coming to a stop.i don't feel safe about my car due to its handling. The tire wear is very uneven.*la

Tread on front tires was forming a feathered wear pattern at 6000 miles.dealer realigned but didn't produce a printout of results because "the printer was broken".they refused to replace the worn tires.at 16,000 miles all tread on the inside of the front tires was gone while the tread on the outer edge was normal.the dealer said that the factory rep would not repair car.this is an obvious design flaw because they did not allow for caster adjustment.i now hate nissan more than i love my car and will pursue a refund per lemon law.

Brought my car in twice to complain about a loud growling noise from the front end at 6000 miles. I told him that the noise is really bad when i brake at speeds below 50 mph.erin from the dealership told me that nissan does have a bulletin out and their quick fix is: to rotate my tires from side to side and do a front alignment.he told me my tires were wearing unevenly.i brought the car back again to complain that the noise got worse and they told me that it may take 1000-2000 miles for the noise to go away.i told him that was crazy.eric told me just to turn my radio up and i wouldn't hear the noise.he also told me that nissan will only rotate the tires once and then after that i will need to do it more offen.he told me that i will need to replace my tires soon.i told him it just has 6000 miles on it.i also had my car back for the loud break noise and they said it was normal.after finding this website i realized i'm not the only one that is this complaint.i cannot believe that nissan is not doing anything about this severe problem that could become dangeous for driving when the tires are wearing unevenly.

Nissan's 350z's suspension causes front tires cupping on the inner edges of the tires. This is the source of that loud roar you hear when you brake from about 30 mph to a complete stop.nissan only offer to realign the suspension and replace the cupped tires but not addressing the suspension issue. The problem is caused by a desgin flaw in the suspension of the z. It is not a problem with the tires as any tire you put on the z will eventually start to cup again.

Bought 2003 nissan 350z used in 2/06. Keyes woodland hills nissan of ca sold me the car with both front tires worn down to the wire on the inside rim. They still have not disclosed or acknowledge the alignment/tire feathering problem. Its been 12000 miles & i need new tires. This is very costly & i would never have bought this car knowing about this.

Front suspension problem causing front inner edge of tires to wear unevenly.possible blow out of front tires, due toaccelerated wear on inside edge of front tires. *la

My 2003 nissan 350z has a suspension problem. I had tire feathering on the front two tires and they were replaced by nissan and the alignment was redone. Now the tires are feathering again. This seems to be a widespread problem with many of the first production cars. I would like nissan to address the problem and issue a recall of the cars so that the suspension can be fixed. I do want to have to replace tires at 6-10k miles because of this problem.

03 nissan 350z track edition.front suspension issue causing very bad tire wear and very loud tire noise in front of car.car has been aligned and still continues to wear tires unevenly.the car only has 3100 miles on it.

Nissan 2003 350z - tire cupping, roaring and vibration. Nissan issued a bullitan to replace the original bridgestone front tires and complete an alignment with 7000m due to a factory suspension/alignment problem.the bridgestone replacement tires have 9000m and the problem is reoccuring - tire cupping, roaring and vibration. The car is unstable on curves and braking. Nissan will not replace the front tires a second time and refuses to acknowledge there is a factory defect with the suspension. This defect is noted to have been corrected on the 2004 350z. Nissan dealership is recommending a full tire replacement without any compensation on their part or correction to the suspension problem to see if the four tire replacement will correct the problem. (why would this correct the problem when the problem occured at 7000 tire mileage and again at 9000 tire mileage) i am pursuing every avenue to an equitable resolution to this nissan factory defect. Preferring a permanent fix..

Front tire "feathering." there is a commonfront end suspension problem with many of the first year nissan 350z's released that causes the front tires to wear unevenly and prematurely fail. It can first become noticeable at several thousand miles.the front tires make excessive noise under braking at speeds below 40 mph.i have contacted nissan north america on several occasions and had my vehicle in for service at the dealership, but to the best of my knowledge, a fix is not currently available. I replaced theoriginal tires at 4000 miles because of the noise, then discovered at a chat room that many other 350z owners were having similar problems. Once removed, aninspection showed uneven wear on the inside edge of the tire that i was previously unaware of.nissan has agreed to reimbursethe cost of onereplacement set oftires, but my concern isthatthe vehicle will continue to cause premature tire wear problems unless fixed. I don't know if this is a safety issue, but am convinced that a mechanical defect exists, nissan is aware of it and a majority of early issue cars are effected.

I have a nissan 2003 350z. At 7000 miles both front tires were feathered.at 8000 miles i took the car to the dealership. They aligned the tires and centered the steering.after the repair the handling was terrible.i was scared to drive over 60 mph fearing loss of control of the vehicle.at 12,500 miles nissan replaced the both front tires.i had put 8,000 miles on the replacement tires when i had a recurence of the tire feathering.nissan again replaced the front tires and centered the steering.i believe driving on the feathered tires is a saftey issue.the car handles terrible when driving on the feathered tires.the back tires never feathered.i had 28,000 on the back tires when i replaced them and the wear was perfect.the suspension is causing this problem with the front tires.i still have this issue with my vehicle. My front tires have been replaced 3 times total.twice by nissan and once by me.i would really like this issue fixed.*la

Excessive road noise, growl with car.

Suspension design flaw creates uneven tire wear in the front tires.tires will 'cup' or 'feather' within the first 10,000 miles of driving.my car in particlar ran out of tread on the inside patch at 13000 miles. Changing tires is not a cure for this issue as it reoccurs due to the suspension.this is a potentially dangerous flaw as it might cause vehicles to lose traction in wet/slippery conditions.

I also own a 2003 nissan 350 z and have experienced the tire cupping/feathering. I have had the alignment at 4970 miles and tire replacement at 7500 miles due to the backorder of the tires because of so many others also having the realigning and tire replacement.

Action nissan in nashville, tn has replaced damaged front tires at least twice, and i have now replaced damaged front tires at my own expense. The effect of nissan's alignment/suspension problem is not isolated to tire damage. Action nissan attempted to correct my vehicles' alignment/suspension issues, but my car continued to experience issues related to abnormal tire wear and a pull to the right. Nissan did not offer a permanent solution for the alignment/suspension problems of my automobile, and i continued to experience damage to my front tires and misalignment/suspension effects. To protect any new tires on my vehicle, and to permanently correct nissan's manufacturer defect on my vehicle, i had repairs performed with 3rd party parts, an eibach front alignment kit. The original configuration of the front factory 350z does not allow for such adjustments, and the eibach kit allows for common front alignment adjustments that can easily compensate for the alignment/suspension problems. The installed parts, along with new tires, balancing, and alignment/suspension has total cost of $1087.04. I am including documentation of all itemized costs below:tires'''''.$288.00front align kit'$394.87parts total''...$682.872x tire mount'.$10.002x tire balance...$30.00align kit install..$270.00front alignment..$59.95subtotal''''$369.95labor [email protected]%$34.22labor total''.$404.17grand total''.$1,087.04the proposed nissan class action settlement covers only a fraction of the costs to permanently correct the alignment/suspension problem experienced by countless nissan 350z owners. My objection is that nissan should offer a permanent solution to correct the manufacturer defect in the alignment/suspension of 2003/2004 350zs, which causes tire damage and other misalignment/suspension side-effects resulting from the inability to properly align select 350z vehicles.i duly swear to all facts presented in this document.

My new nissan 2003 350z was delivered out of alignment.this has caused my tire to be severely worn on the in side edge of tire (both front tires).nissan's solution is to rotate front tires so that the worn/cupped portion of the tire is on the outside edge of tire.what kind of solution is this?the life expectancy of my tire has been greatly reduced and has jeopardized my safety!

Tires are wearing out incredibly fast. Handling is compromised.

Complaint received via e-mail."i have so many problems with my car. The tires wore out within7 months. I took to the dealer to get it fixed. I ended up replacing two tires. That was in june. September i experienced the same problem. Less than a year, my car has had 5 alignments and two sets of tires.i contacted the nissan consumer affair specialist, no one wanted to take care of the problems. The car is believed to have a manufactured defect. The dealership has informed me that lots of problems with this model car has been reported. I can not drive my car anymore because i am scared the tires might blow up.

Excess abnormal wear to the inside edge of front tire tread causing alignment, handling, and excess road noise problems. First sign of wear appeared at around 3,500 miles on the new vehicle. Four-wheel alignment was performed at 4,000 miles. Abnormal wear continued after alignment. A "side-to-side" front tire swap was performed at 6,000. With less than 9,000 miles on the car, abnormal wear has again appeared on the inside tread along with excessive road noise and erractic handling on crowned roads.

Excessive tire noise was noticed, took to dealer and found inside of front tires had worn away.dealer re-aligned suspension and replaced front tires.later, tire noise was noticed again along with pulling to right.took to dealer and inside edge of front tires had worn away again, tires were replaced again and suspension re-aligned again.right front suspension "compression rod" replaced due to pull.tires continue to wear excessively along both inside and outside edges.tires wear out in less than 10,000 miles.once tire noise becomes severe, straight-line stability is affected at highway speeds.tires could fail due to premature wear if vehicle owner does not inspect tires for inside edge wear at abnormally frequent intervals.

Nissan 350z 2003front suspension issue - tires are feathering because of bad setup in front suspension.this problem surfaced after about 5000 miles on the car in the form of a low rumbling noise when slowing down.this noise slowly got worse until i took the car in and niacin said the tires were defective.i was given a new set of tires that were not feathered and the problem went away until i reached another 5000 miles, at which point, the noise resurfaced.i once again, took it into niacin, who was very good about recognizing that there was a problem, and brought up the fact that the original issue was most likely not defective tires but a poor setup of some kind that was causing the feathering.they agreed and said a bulletin had been sent out about this issue.the solution, they said, was to switch the tires, re-calibrate something with the suspension, and the tires would eventually even out.i have only driven 3000 miles since this fix, but the noise is still apparent, and i believe there is still an issue in the front suspension.i feel that niacin has been very good to me about addressing issues as they come up, but if this is a bigger problem, i really feel that niacin should recall rhe front suspension and address the deeper problem.i can't keep replacing my tires every 5000 miles. *la

Front tires on my vehicle are feathering due to suspension problems. Manufacturer will not fix the mechanical problem. It is a nissan 350z 2003 under warranty with 6000 miles. Have had 3 tire inspections by different tire manufacturer's, all point toward suspension defect. Traction is way less then 100%. *nlm

2003 nissan 350z has a defective suspension that causes the tires to wear unevenly (tire feathering) and also causes the vehicle to pull to the right which also causes the tires to wear unevenly. Nissan dealership has had the vehicle in 6 times with no success. Hundreds of other 350z owners have this same trouble, but may not know how to deal with it.*la

Experiencing an unresolved tire wear problem with 2003 350z that i purchase new in february 2003.the front tires have been replaced and alignment performed twice on the vehicle.when the tires are examined, they have an irregular wear pattern on the outside edges of the tread.although nissan has issued tsb ntb04-043 on 4/12/2004 and extended the original warranty to two year / 30k miles, i do not believe there is a long term solution that will result in front tires lasting significantly longer than the current unacceptable 10k to 12k miles.i view this issue as reducing the serviceability / reliability of my 350z and it may also pose a safety concern if the problem remains unresolved. *sc

I own a new nissan 350z, purchased in april/may 2003. The car came in misaligned and was aligned at 1700 miles. Now at 9400 miles, the alignment is out again and the tires are feathering. Dealership will replace tires under warranty, but admits the problem is wide spread with the 350 and there is no fix. Something within the suspension/front end is faulty. The dealer has been very helpful.*la

I have a 2003 nissan 350z which i purchased new from selma nissan in july 2003.the vehicle has had the front tires replaced by the dealer three (3) times, averaging 17,000 to 19,000 per set of tires.each time the dealer has re-aligned the front end and assured me that the problem has been taken care of.each time that the vehicle has gone in for this problem, the vehicle experiences severe front tire noise and steering wheel shake, especially during low speed and braking.both front tires display excessive wear to the inner edge of the tires rendering them unserviceable.to nissans credit, they have acknowledged the problem and have re-aligned the front end and replaced the last three sets of tires at no cost to me.the car was taken to the dealer today (01-12-2007) with the same problem.the dealer said they will contact the manufacturer to see if replacement will again be authorized.whether or not nissan covers the replacement isn't really the issue.a modern vehicle that wears out four sets of $600 tires at under 20,000 miles each obviously has a problem that should result in a recall.nissan is apparently unable to repair this defect, and the car is not only unsafe, but has a very low resale value.

I have a suspension problem with my 03 350z. It causes tire feathering.

My 2003 350z displays most of the common complaints of other owners...tire feathering, pulling to the right, excessive tire and brake noise, a/c buzz, bose sound system that can't be heard above road noise. Some of the above are annoyances, others, such as tire wear and handling are definate safety issues. Nissan has changed the front suspension on the 2004 350z for the reason that the 2003 suspension is flawed. There should be a recall!

Suspension problem causing improper tire wear.

A defect exist in the 2003 nissan 350z which causes excessive 'cupping' or 'feathering' to occur to the tires of the vehicle.*la

In may of 2003 i purchased a new nissan 350z. After around 9000 miles the tires began to make an increased amount of road noise. Upon inspection the interior radius of both front tires was worn in a very uneven pattern. The rear tires are fine... Mind you this is a rear-wheel drive car. Over the course of the next 3000 miles this noise became increasingly louder and at 12000 miles is unbearable. It sounds like i'm driving an eighteen-wheeler as opposed to a sport car. I brought the car to the dealership where i bought it - peter's nissan in nashua, nh - they said that my tires were "chopped" and recommended replacing them. Of course they wanted me to pay for it, citing a tire defect. The problem with this argument is that my rear tires are fine and they recommended replacing my "chopped" fronts with another pair of the same tire. In my mind there is obviously a suspension geometry issue with this car. After being quoted $1008.64 for two tires, mounted and balanced, from the nissan dealer i proceeded to call nissan north america's consumer affairs line. (1-800-nissan1) i spoke with a representative who told me that engineers are currently working on a fix and he brushed me off the phone quickly. I received no satisfaction and am still driving around my "new", under warranty nissan product with an obviously defective suspension. Evidently nissan expects me to shell out (using their ridiculous quote) $1008.64 every six months or 10,000 miles for two front tires. Assuming the life of this car at a conservative 100,000 miles, that's $10,086.40 in front tires alone. More than a third of the cars value new in just front tires! there is a defect here somewhere that nissan has yet to address. The tires are abridgestone potenza model. While i find these tires to be a low-quality product to begin with, the sort of wear occurring on my car is not a tire issue. Again, my rears are just fine.

Horrible road noise, tire wear uneven "feathering" or scalloping on the insides of the front tires.car has been placed in shop for warranty repair five times and problem is still occurring.car is going back next week for a sixth attempt.*la

Purchased 2003 nissan 350z january 2003.vehicle suffers from a chronic tire cupping problem.tires were replaced by nissan at ~5,000 miles.this was only done at my insistence.nissan's published (see their tsb) approach is to dismount tires and rotate side to side.now at ~6,000 miles and new tires are cupping.vehicle also suffers from a severe purposing (bounce) problem that particularly manifests itself on concrete roadways.at highway speed it is so severe that the car feels as though it is becoming airborne.nissan has not, of yet, addressed either of these problems with a permanent fix.

My 350z had a terrible growl noise and vibrations coming from the front when braking.tires were very feathered on the inside of the front two tires.filed a complaint with nna and they had the dealer take the tires off the rims and swap the front tires.i don't think they fixed the issue just delayed the inevitable.*la

Front tires on my 2003 nissan 350z keep wearing out on insides due to suspension problems.

I own a 2003 350z. I got a flat tire on my car yesterday. I took it in to be repaired. When they jacked it up they noticed that all four of my tires are bald on the inside.they told me that my car has been recalled. They said they have had many 350z's come in with the same problem i am having. They also stated that they are able to fix the problem. So that's when i looked it up on your website but didn't see it anywhere. I have talked to many other tires places as well and they said they have had many people come in with the same problem. Have you heard this complaint from anyone else?

Nissan refuses to let customers know of the tire feathering problem on the 2003-2004 nissan 350z. This is getting out of hand.

Tire feathering and accelerated wear on inside of front tires.this wear pattern first was noticed at around 3k miles, and by 5500 miles the problem was bad.by 7k miles, the tires are nearly unusable.four issues with this:1.some very slight vibration when the problem gets bad 2.terrible noise from the tires3.safety issue due to extreme abnormal wear pattern, could get bad enough to cause a blowout4.ridiculous operating expense will be incurred when tires have to be replaced every 5k to 7k milesnissan does not appear to have a fix for this, and simply keeps replacing tires.currently the oem tires are not available, and dealer says they will not do anything. *nlm

Tire feathering, on front end seems to be non-correctable resulting in repetitive premature replacement of tires. I was told by service mgn. That caster adjustment is at full, and can not correct for the towin causing the tire wear.

Tires are cupping/feathering and will not be acknowledged by nissan north america.i believe this will provide for a situation that can be hazardous.the solution provided by nissan is to have the tires taken off the rim and rotated, as well as perform an alignment.the problem continues to persist even after this action was taken.*la

Nissan has service records issued. Nissan told the dealer to swap my two front wheels, but this did nothing.

My front tires on my 2003 nissan 350z are feathering after only 6,000 miles causing a very load roar in the vehicle cabinet below 30 mph.nissan is only offering to rotate front tires which results in the tires rotating in the opposite direction as the tire manufacturer specifies.many others with this same problem have had no success with nissan providing a solution to this.i consider the vehicle safety to be seriously compromised as the tires are not performing properly.*la

At 8,000 miles my font tires are worn due to the factory setting the toe-in to aggressively.nissan dealer will not do anything since the car is just over 12 months old.so now i have to pay for new tires and wait for the next 8,000 miles until i have to buy new tires again. I love the z but nissan should know they just lost a customer here.

My front tires have been cupped and or feathered on the inside. It makes a very load roaring noise when coming to a stop.i don't feel safe about my car due to its handling. The tire wear is very uneven.*la

Front tires (bridgestone) are extremely feathered on the inside of tire causing road noise, drifting to the right and a dangerous driving condition.*la

The front and rear tire tread had stress marks. *nlm

There is a defect in this vehicle that wont let you open the door and window on either, or both sides. Be it with the remote or even with the key from the outside, and leave you with no options to open from the inside as the latch refuse to move, i let you conjure the multitude of scenarios that would put your life in jeopardy, in an emergency situation where you have to exit the vehicle in a hurry, a death trap at any time. A brief search on the internet would show that many people have had this problem with different models of nissan

After buying a 2003 350 z nissan, nissan replaced the front tires twice due to bad alignment and tire wear and noise.now, it appears, the same unusual war of the tires on the inside is back as is the deafening noise while driving.why would an owner have to replace tires every 20,000 miles?this is a safety problem. I have just about stopped driving my car, parking it in the garage and taking the bus to work.i am afraid to drive on the interstate in fear of a blow out or accident.this car should be recalled.they admitted the alignment problem publicly on the internet, gave me 2 sets of front tires and now it has happened again.i called them today to repeat my concerns and they are referring my file to the regions specialist who "has the powerto help me out".they did say there is no recall on my car or tires at this time which essentially means tough.i will let you know the outcome.there is a class action law suit from the law offices of howard a. Gutman currently.

Purchased four (4) michelin tires from america's tire depot and received warranty of 45,000 miles on wear. Have had a difficult time getting prorated amount having received less than 20k miles and chunking of tires as a result.. Difficulty resides in atd/michelin: not wanting to replace tires without me spending another $500-$700 to have them mounted, balanced etc due to their pro rationcalculation factor. My original cost was $1000! researching the tires i found that for a number of years this problem has been reoccurring. Since 2008 or earlier. Michelin denies responsibility for producing defective and unsafe tires that contradicts the public image they have built over many years. Company places the problem with the consumer thus 'voiding' the warranty mileage guaranty that they sell with the tires in turn costing the customer untold thousands/millions of dollars.there are numerous customer complaints on the internet regarding these under achieving and unsafe tires michelin is aware of the problem but still they are allowed to sell these tires, deny any responsibility for the defects and practice an unethical, and possibly illegal, business model.

I own a track model 2003 nissan 350z. In august 2008, the front driver side window began to intermittently fail to go up or down properly.by september 2008,it completely failed to go up or down. The dealer stated that the driver side window motor had internal failure and needed to be replaced. Motor replaced with a new factory motor by a ct nissan dealership at my expense 9/17/2008 at the cost of $581.35.

The drivers side window on my 2003 nissan 350z does not roll up and has stopped working.this is an ongoing problem.it happened to the passenger window before.i live in a place of extreme heat and dust at times and it becomes difficult to drive the vehicle due to this problem.nissan needs to have a service bulletin made and fix the numerous window failures that are occurring.major 350z forums talk about this and will be writing soon also.

The contact owns a 2003 nissan 350z.the front driver side window will not go up or down properly.the dealer stated that the window motors need to be replaced.the contact stated that the same window motor had to be replaced one and a half years ago.the current mileage was 112,500 and failure mileage was 100,000. Updated 04-07-08

Tire feathering, on front end seems to be non-correctable resulting in repetitive premature replacement of tires. I was told by service mgn. That caster adjustment is at full, and can not correct for the towin causing the tire wear.

I received a notice in the mail from nissan in the spring of 2004 concerning a toe out condition that could cause irregular tire wear on the inner edge of the front tires. I took my car in on 7/29/04 to the nissan dealer & asked if this was going to be an ongoing problem with the z & was told,"no, once it is adjusted, it will repair the problem". Supposedly fixed, with new front tires and 1 year later, i returned to nissan with the same issue. I questioned them about the previous year service & was told "i probably hit a pot hole and that i needed an alignment, which i was charged for, but my concerns about the tire feathering were ignored. After some research i found that the "03 z was manufactured with this factory defect which the newer models don't have. This tells me that this is fixable. Being a severe safety issue, the factory setting of the toe adjustmentwhich causes feathering on the inside front tires & their yearly needed replacement is clearly the liability of the manufacturer, not the consumer! what can be done about this?

I own a 2003 nissan 350z with stock 7 spoke wheels and have found that my right front wheel(rim) has a crack in one spoke that goes all the way through. The left front wheel has 2 spokes that have cracks that are all the way through the spokes.

Driver side wheel chassis broke while backing out of the drive at 3 mph. There was no steering, and the vehicle proceeded to strike a fence.vehicle is still not drivable, and the manufacturer offers no assistance.

Vehicle experienced a defective material reaction to an altered road surface in front driver'sside rim. A set of raised subway tracks ran parallel with the road i was traveling on. As the road forked, i was forced to traverse the tracks in order to follow the appropriate road. As soon as the inside edge of front driver's side rim came in contact with the subway rail, the vehicle immediately "bottomed out". After bringing the vehicle to the side of the road i investigated the tire and rim and found no apparent damage. After completely removing the rim from the vehicle it was immediately apparent that the inside edge of the rim had caved in. The outer edge of the rim was undamaged, as was the tire itself, but the outer edge of the rim seemed to have collapsed in on itself. The impact of the vehicle bottoming out must have damaged the rotor and wheel studs because within 500 feet of installing the spare tire the studs themselves broke forcing me to have the vehicle flatbedded to the dealership. Dealership refused to repair vehicle as under warrantee claiming driver error. The lack of tire damage and signs of direct impact damage to outer rim, seems to indicate a weakened inner edge to the rim stemming frommaterial defect failure/
