Failure in the dutch star motorhome with spqartan chassis electrical wiring causes loss of throttle control. Became apparent when turning in front of car on 2 lane road - car had to brake hard to avoid accident. Has reoccurred several times.
Engine looses power when going up hills.
Vehicle safety concern complaint regarding 2000 newmar dutch star model 3665 coach.*mron two occasions, the consumer hit road hazards which caused the muffler to become loose and subsequently it fell on the highway.the consumer believed the exhaust pipe was too low on the vehicle.
Consumer states the headlights supply very poor visibility.the consumer has to use fog lights to see properly at night.the motorhome was checked by the dealer who offered no solution.*scc
Due to moisture build up inheadlight lensther is avisibility problem which may cause a crash.dealer will replace the headlight lens.the light does not penetrate through the moisture.
Brake systemhas never operated properly when trying to slowvehicle down on a down grade or during wet conditions.dealership replaced all brake shoes onmotor home.after brake shoes were replaced,consumer was coming out of nevada in a snow storm andvehicle would pull to left when brakes were applied. He had to stand onbrakes to bringvehicle to a stop. Consumer felt brakeswere worseafter repairs thanthey were before brake shoes were replaced.please provide any additional information/attachments.

I have a 2000 motorhome on a spartan chassis. Theball joints are bad and i believe this is a safety problem. Spartan chassis has known about this problem for years and refuses to repair or acknowledge.
When towing the vehicle it is very hard to keep control of the motorhome. Cause unknown.
The contact owns a 2000 newmar dutch star rv trailer. He replaced the tie rod parts 16 times the ball joint components were replaced 8 times in a nine years which are all a part of the steering front suspension. The contact was only required to pay for labor. The manufacturer confirmed that the parts are were replaced due to normal wear and tear and were not defective. The parts are not related to a recall or warranty. The failure mileage was 43,000 and the current mileage is 64,000. Updated 12/10/09. *ljthe consumer stated he discovered the tie rod ends and ball joint on the rv had not protective rubber or very little rubber left. The rubber was for safety, it keeps the grease in and dirt, sand and water from wearing down the tie rod ends and ball joints. The consumer stated in four years the problem resurfaced.updated 12/10/09

The vehicle drifts to the left or the right, there was a squeel in the left front and rear wheels when the vehicle was moving forward.
Iowna newmar dutchstar motorhome with a spartan chassis. The ball joints have a lifetime lube boot around them.the boot has cracked and fell apart. Therewas no way to lube this ball joint.i feltthe manufacturer should stand behind it.they will send you parts and you pay labor whichwas over $1000.00 if it was less than 5 years old. Lifetime meantlifetime. This partwas made by reyco,granning a division of tuthill corporation.
Recall 04v037000 concerning tires.consumer was concerned about the manufacturer's recall procedures.the manufacturer wanted to replace the factory tires with tires bigger than the rear tires. Manufacturer was only replacing the front tires.
The replacement tires for recall 04v0370000 have not been available for 2 months, and dealershipdoesn't not know when the tires will be available.
The dealership is only receiving replacement tires at a time, and the tires have already been assigned to a consumer.the consumer has been waiting for over 2 months to have the tire recall 04v037000 performed.*mr
At 60mph front tires blewout, causing consumer to pull over. Dealer notified. Michelin radial size 25580 225 *mj
The motorhome's engine was built by ford.the owner brought to ford's attention the fact that the engine's dip stick was incorrectly installed.ford told the owner that he must purchase the correct stick since the vehicle was out of warranty.
Dash gauges, in particular the air pressure warning gauges fog completely over.manufacture said this is a normal operation occurance and there is no fix. New motorhome where release with a different guage.
