2006 monaco coach knight.- march 18, 2008 monaco recalled model year 2006-2007 diplomat and holiday rambler endeavor motorhomes equipped with wiper systems supplied by am equipment. My model, the coach knight, was not included in the recall, though i have the very same wiper system being recalled and have the very same problems listed on the recall. The windshield wipers have never worked from the time it was purchased (april 2007). I took the motorhome out about 3 weeks after buying it and had rain on the trip back when i first noticed the wiper problem.i have made several requests as well as taking it in to have this repaired at the place of purchase (infinity motor home sales in prescott az). I made several stops along my travels to see if other repair shops could look at the wiper problem, but due to time constraints and their work load, they could not help me.the drive motor link becomes disengaged during operation from the wiper drive arm where it attaches to the drive arm, causing the wiper system to fail. When the wiper system fails, i have to slow the vehicle in order to have enough visibility to pull over to the side of the road. I then have to take a ladder out and try to fix the wipers long enough to find a safer location to pull over. I have contacted the following people about this problem: dennis (with monaco) 877-466-6226 (he said the wrong type of hardware had been installed in the wiper system from the beginning at the indiana plant). Jack (manager at infinity in prescott az) 928-445-7910 (he will only replace parts when ordered to do so by monaco). Bob pierson (at monaco) 800-685-6545 (he said he was aware of the problem, but the knight model was not on the list and felt he could not do anything about. He referenced a repair shop in phoenix - massey's diesel repair (602-233-1700) they said there was nothing they could do (after talking with monaco, who refused to admit my model was having the same problems).
2006 monaco knight 40 plq windshield wipers stick and won't return to the middle of the windshield. The consumer stated at highway speed, the windshield wiper goes too far to the left.the manufacturer suggested that the consumer adjust the angle of the wiper blade.the consumer stated it helped a little, but not a lot, and now the wiper does not clean the water off the windshield as well.the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer and they installed springs which would held the wipers more tightly against the windshield, however, at less than 50 mph the springs did improve the performance of the wipers. Between 50 and 60 mph the force of the wind hitting the windshield forced the tip of the left wiper to hit the frame of the windshield and sometimes the wiper would just stick in one place.the consumer believed the arms were too long and not heavy enough to withstand the forces being applied to them.there was too much play in the linkage and also the motor was too weak to make the wipers function properly.
