"takata recall" i received a safety recall notice in the mail, july of 2016, for the passenger side airbag (mitsubishi had already replaced the driver side airbag over a year ago. I called our mitsubishi dealership @ 1-850-785-1591, to set up an appointment to replace the airbag. I was told they were not yet available, & that we would be notified when they were. We stopped by the dealership on 10-24-16 & were told the same thing (part not available). I called the dealership today 12-12-16 & was told the same thing. The parts manager said he did not have a telephone # or part # to even order the airbag. This recall/delay was discussed on the national news & gave this website to submit a complaint. Airbags being replaced first applied to the elderly or hot zones (i live in florida). My vehicle is an older model with many miles & it is very hot during the summer months. I qualify to be in that 1st group to be replaced. Please let me know, what i must do, to get my passenger side airbag to be replaced. (i don't want to die from metal shards flying out of the airbag compartment) this 6 month delay is not acceptable.

Dealer ("miami lakes auto-mall" in zip code 33014) never has parts available, i have been calling for over a year to set up an appointment to no avail.should anything happen to me or any other person or any property destruction is incurred due to the lack of urgency set forth by the aforementioned dealer or mitsubishiin fixing these recalls, me and my family will hold all within the dealer and mitsubishi accountable/responsible.
Takata recall -serra mitsubishi, birmingham al.- i received a recall notice for my air bags. It tells me in the letter that a loaner/rental vehicle will be provided. I call for an appointment, dealer will not provide a vehicle for the 3 hr repair. I only needed a ride back to work while waiting on repair. Not like i wanted a vehicle to ride around in. I called the mitsubishi hot line and was told it will be provided. If the service manager will call the regional manager it will be straightened out. I call the dealer back and past the same information. Waited two days for a response after being told they would call me back. I finally called them to hear the same story of not providing a ride for the three hour repair. If this is not going to happen, then why is it written in black and white, informing owners that it be provided. It appears to me they are misleading or lying to their customers, and do not care if their customers are inconvenienced. The dealership is in birmingham al. "serra mitsubishi".

Vehicle was involved in an serious offset head on crashwith a full size chevrolet silverado.the side apron air bag failed to deploy on both sides. Both vehicles were traveling straight on a two lane rural road with a speed limit of 45mph.don't know actual vehicle speeds. Chevrolet veered into the opposite lane and struck the mitsubishi raider xls traveling in the opposite direction.i believe the failure of the driver side curtain airbag contributed to the seriousness of the mitsubishi drivers injuries.

Got truck may 2007 from a toyota dealer with 15k miles after driving it for a day with no problems. After papers were signed, i started the engine and the check engine light was on. The toyota dealership told me to take it to a mitsubishi dealership since it was still under warranty. The engine ran fine. The following day the check engine light was no longer on. The mitsubishi dealership said it may have been caused by the gas cap being loosened by the toyota dealership when they filled the gas tank at the time of purchase. Shortly afterward, the check engine light came on while driving 35-40 mph and immediately ran with a rough idle and bucked when accelerating. The following morning with light still on, but no rough idle or bucking, mitsubishi dealership tests determined it was the #2 spark plug, which they corrected. Several days later it happened again. The following day the check engine light was no longer on & engine ran fine. This happened 3 or 4 times a year through 2009. I noticed that if the cruise control was on when the check engine light came on, the cruise control light would turn off and no longer function. After turning the engine off and restarting it, it no longer had rough idle or bucked on acceleration; however, the check engine light remained on and the cruise control light would still not come on or function until a day of two later when the check engine light was no longer on. A couple of months ago, 2 to 5 minutes after starting engine in am & while driving approx. 35-40 mph, engine killed & check engine light appeared. Engine restarted with rough idle, bucking with acceleration & the cruise control would not function.two weeks ago, while signaling a left turn, the dash blinking lights began blinking on the right & the check engine light appeared, engine killed, etc. Just happened again. Getting dangerous... Help!

I have a 2006 mitsubishi raider that has electrical issues, sometimes the dash lights go out, all the gauges quit working, including speedometer and the radio cuts off.....sometimes daily, weekly, monthly. Even after taking to dealer numerous times.rear brakes have been locking up and 'dragging' upon stopping sometimes, hasn't done it lately, i think the part may have finally broke. There is a recall on this item, but dealer says my truck was not in that series of serial numbers the defect was found in, although it does the same thing as the recalled trucks made the same year as mine. Now the rear brake drum is leaking brake fluid.truck has 36, 000 on it, dealers have been no help whatsoever on any of the issues.

2006 mitsubishi raider @ 42,000 miles. This vehicle has been nothing but problems with no solutions. First i had electrical problems, lights and dash cutting off, no speedometer, radio would cut off. Once it wouldn't crank, i had to have it towed to the dealership, where they said i was missing a fuse, apparently it fell out while in route to dealership, because i checked all of them before i called tow truck, checked with test light, all were working, all were in place.......50.00 for the tow, 40.00+ to replace a fuse. Constantly uses brake fluid.....took to dealer and they said it was low on brake fluid.....probably because it was leaking all over the drum, dealer did not fix. Had some kind of ecu replaced for electronics, still didn't fix problem. Trucks rear brakes began to drag and lock up. Called dealer, they said my series of vin numbers wasn't included in there recall, even though it was doing the same as the so called recalled vehicles. Eventually i guess it broke, because it hasn't been dragging the brakes, although there is a large brake fluid leak on drivers side rear tire, and now my rear end(hog head)(gearcase) is leaking gear oil. I just don't understand why there are no solutions to mitsubishi's mistakes unless they are resolved from my wallet. I guess they are only liable if more than 100 people are killed in accidents happen.......toyota stood up and fixed their problem.......how come mitsubishi cant? thoroughly disgusted by dealers and their service department........or lack of service department. I have had verbal confrontations with all service managers, even contacted mitsubishi main office, still at no prevail.......so i guess i will drive it to the wheels fall off, shouldn't be much longer, rear end is leaking fairly bad now. I can't afford to have it fixed, even though they should be held responsible for their mistakes.....
I had just purchased this vehicle cash on friday, july 7, 2006. It had 27 miles when purchased. On friday, july 14, 2006, i was driving on a 2 lane road on military base in san antonio when the vehicle shut off as i was making a right turn. The vehicle would not start.everything else worked in the vehicle except start. I am currently stationed at the above post for 3 months while in training and purchased this vehicle at a local car dealer. Tried calling the sales consultant who sold us the vehicle at her cell, which she gave my wife wherei purchased the vehicle, no reply, called the dealership, they gave me their customer service which gave me the wrong number to call. They gave me a sex call number. I called the dealership again and their receptionist gave me a phone number which turned out to be a security system. After all this, i decided to go backto the dealer, and told them they had sold me a lemon...yes, i was very upset, i had just purchased a new vehicle and all of a sudden it was not working. I told one of the gentlemen at the dealer and he basically stated they could not do anything until monday because the general manager was not there. How fortunate, but they were quick to make the sale and take my certified check. I mentioned to the gentlemen that the vehicle was on government property and could not be left on post without no registration or tags. He stated he would get someone to remove the vehiche and never did. I had to take the initiative and call the tow company to take the vehicle back to the dealership. I wasted half the day dealing with this issue which could have been corrected if the dealership would have been willing to work with me. I feel they made the sell, received their money and washed their hands of us. On top of this all, it has placed me in a difficult situation in my military training. They will have to deal with my wife because i will be away in training until july21st.

The contact was advised by the dealer that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 90,000.
Powertrain: automatic transmissionwhile driving on a speed of about 65-75 mph on the freeway/interstate and all of a sudden i have to slow down by stepping on the brake and then releasing the brake to continue moving again after the speed goes down to about 35-45 mph, the "check engine" light comes on and you can hear the engine revving like it is stuck on third gear instead of shifting to fourth gear.i have been to an authorized napa auto repair shop and the code they found out was a sensor problem.they changed the sensor and sure enough gone again but the "check" engine light came on again while i was climbing up on a slope that is stepping on the gas a little bit more to be able to climb the slope.went back to the same napa auto repair shop and this time it is still the same problem.they asked me to drive it some more just in case the check engine light disappears again and it did.now i am scared of driving it anymore unless i have to for fear of anything worse happens.i bought this truck in 2008 with about 35k on the odometer and bought it with "as is" conditions.i could not afford a newer and better truck so i am stuck with this one. I have now 48k miles on the odometer since july, 2008.the napa auto repair shop said that the next thing they could try is getting a used transmission or even a new transmission but would not be able to guarantee if it won't happen again.
Vehicle:2006 mitsubishi raider pickup truckfailure:automatic transmission shifts out of gear spontaneously.description:on occasion, when initiating movement in forward or reverse gear, the vehicle will begin to move in the desired direction, then the gear selection lever will spontaneously move into the "neutral" position, disengaging the transmission.this results in a vehicle that either coasts (based on its momentum) or rolls in the direction determined by the grade of the road/ driving surface.

Also, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was repaired on two separate occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the clutch was defective and replaced it twice. The failure mileage was 157,000.
Everytime it rains, or moisture gets on my tan tweed seats it makes brown circles that are even hard removed at a recon. I have spent 2 recons and it comes back while putting groceries, or getting into the truck, i have had this truck for 7 months, called mitshubishi and they suggested a scotchguard.. Forever? that's kind of ridiculous.
For the last 2 years this vehicle has had rust issues, the whole thing is rusting through. Underneath, bumper, tow hooks, the parts underneath the truck. I was blown off by mitshubishi when i complained. They told me this was my issue to due i lived in maine. Seriously, this truck was taken care of and i have been the only owner, and it's a 2006 and i bought it brand new march of 2007 make it 5 years old! also the brakes never hold on it, i have just had all of the pads replaced again, rotors, ball joints, control arms, the truck still wont stop and sways and drifts around corners. It is very dangerous.and there is always something wrong with the front end of this truck.
The contact owns a 2006 mitsubishi raider. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, she attempted to decelerate but the brakes failed and the cruise control function erroneously engaged. The contact continued to apply the brakes and as the brake pedal abnormally traveled to the floorboard, the vehicle finally came to a stop. In addition, the transmission failed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for inspection where they advised the contact that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle brakes. The contact was advised by the dealer that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 90,000.
The contact owns a 2006 mitsubishi raider.while driving 40 mph on dry pavement, the brakes failed and the contact crashed into the preceding vehicle.the air bags failed to deploy.a police report was filed.the contact sustained minor upper back injuries.the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 06v038000 (service brakes, hydraulic:antilock:control unit/module).the vehicle has not been repaired.the failure and current mileages were 53,400.
Every time i apply the brakes it makes a rapidly pulsating sensation like the abs is engaging, even when i'm going at a slow speed or when i'm not making a rapid stop, have taken it in to huntington beach mitsubishi 2/23/09 - they ordered rear brake shoes, 03/05/09 - replaced rear brake shoes and machined front rotors per tsb, 06/30/09 - advise turn drums, 10/20/09 - order front rotors (for which they made me pay, applied stop squeak, 10/22/09 - brake job front end, replaced pads and applied stop squeak (i paid for pads and stop squeak) 05/05/10 same problem they told me they're waiting on dpsm, and now they want me to come in monday 7/24/10 for another brake job, even though i've said that is not taking care of the problem and how many times can the rotors be turned before i have to replace them again. I did not ask for the old parts.they have never addressed the abs, even when i showed them a copy of recall notice on the abs #06v038000i bought this raider pickup new in 2006 to last me for my old age. I can't afford to keep getting a new brake job every 6,000 miles.
I have had (2) occasions when i applied my brakes hard suddenly and lost control of my vehicle because it continued to slide.i took it in to have it inspected and the service technician did confirm that my vehicle does exactly what i stated and he informed me that i have abs brakes on the rear and not on the front and therefore a sudden, forceful stop will cause my front wheels to lock up.this has been stated in writing on the service sheet.therefore, when the front wheels lock up, the vehicle slides and i lose control.i called mitsubishi and they said that it is normal for the brakes to function this way and there are no problems.i find this very unacceptable and i am now very fearful of having to make a sudden stop.there have been recalls on certain of these vehicles (raiders) but i was told mine was not one of them.however, i seem to experience exactly what the recalled vehicles experience.

The front end became extremly loose and the front axle housing broke away from it mounting bolts and fell on the the skid plate
Medium to extreme front end vibration when applying the brakes on a downhill slope or at highway speeds.front and left wheel bearings were replaced at around 22,000 miles (unusual) and i think at 31,000 miles they may need to be replaced once more.very concerned about possibly losing control when this happens.date of incident is just the latest and worse of about 6 previous incidents since last replacement of wheels bearings.not sure if there is something else as dealer obviously continues to claim nothing is wrong.
Shortly after the first 7000 miles a noise, like metalobjects b egan coming from rear of the vehicle, usually during turns.the frequencyincreased to the point where it was hear almost all turns.dealer inspected and stated that itwas normalfot this vehicle.it sounced like something was loose.
Outside water leaks into passenger side floor board from under dashboard when vehicle is parked on an incline/driveway during wet weather/snow and heavy rain.
The contact owns a 2006 mitsubishi raider. While driving approximately 10 mph, when the turn signal was engaged for either side, it only illuminated for the passenger side. In addition, the contact stated that when the hazard lights were engaged, the passenger side light failed to operate.
