I was recently in a wreck and my cars air bags did not deploy and my seat belts did not lock in. I was sitting stationary as the traffic in front of me had stopped to allow someone to turn. All of a sudden a car smashed into my rear end. All passengers in the car and myself were thrown forward. The seat belts did not lock us in safely. I hit my steering wheel and left panel near windshield. The passenger hit the sun visor above his head. The back driver passenger was jolted upward hitting the ceiling and drivers seat. The back passenger on the other side was jolted up hitting the ceiling and passenger seat. The impact was hard enough to move my car 33 feet forward and into another car. On impact my air bags did not deploy which caused us to all go airborne in the car hitting ceiling, seats, and equipment. The rear passenger eyeglasses landed in the 3rd row seating so the impact was hard enough that some safety devices should have worked properly and sufficiently.

I had a very bad accident and my car got totaled but airbags did not deploye

Received airbag warnings was advised if i wrecked with warning on airbags maynot deploy had to replace passenger seat the car fell to read the key a lot of the time even when its in the slot this has been ongoing sincei got the car with 400 miles dealer says they cant get it to duplicate the error so i do not know also the steering and control is terrible it sound like it always needs an oilchange makes a ticking noise seat sticks from time to time also it dent and scratch to easily the tires and brakes feel terrible at 24000 miles i have had to have the cd player replace.

While driving the fcm, (front crash mitigation), and acc, (adapter cruise control), lights came on with message "service required".i took the car to the dealer they could find nothing wrong.a month later they came on again, the dealer could find nothing wrong.the next time the lights came on it was "airbag service required".i took the car to the dealer, they diagnosed the ecu going bad.now, when a light comes on, which is often, i don't have any idea if something is really not working.they told me it would be a week to get the part, today they told me the part is on back order.i am not happy about having this problem with a six month old car.i also find it odd that a part for a brand new car is on backorder.

The contact owned a 2014 mitsubishi outlander. While driving 65 mph, the contact crashed into a moose crossing the road. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a garage. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,000.

I had a accident with my 3 children in the car with me. I was driving on a 6 lane highway & hit a car that was in the middle lane as it came to a complete stop for no apparent reason other than reaching for something in the floorboard. The damage was to the front end of my outlander, needing to replace the bumper, hood, lights, a/c condenser & more. None of the 7 airbags in my car were deployed & none of the seatbelts locked. I was told from a local mitsubishi dealer that if there was an issue, there would be a code in the computer, so therefore they say there is nothing wrong with my outlander or the safety restraint system.

Airbag service required light is staying on with no accidents or reason for deployment. The vehicle is stationary and the warning stays on, also the passenger seatbelt light is staying on

Doors does not lock automatically once you are on drive. Driver manually need to lock the doors. Took the car to dealer to configure automatic door lock, but they have mentioned the vehicle is not equipped to lock the doors automatically. This is a basic safety feature, i didn't understand why this feature not equipped.

At just under 60,000 miles, the rear back up camera stopped working, resulting in a safety hazard while backing up. When i contacted the dealer, i was told they are familiar with the issue, but it's commonly in the stereo head unit, which is not covered under warranty, and would not look at it as they said it's costly , up to $800 to replace the head unit.

I have some history in the past that the following day that i got the car from the dealer i returned it to them because i heared a popping sound on the engine part when i stop the engine, they said its just normal but with all the cars that i had i never experience this so unusual and the static on the car seat everytime i come out of the car i even transfer the static feel when somebody touch me i and after a week they put leather seat it is still the same what i did i put a rug on my seat that lessen the static. Everytime i bring the car on all the complaints they just ignore it and telling me its just normal and because i never bought any brand new car except mitsubishi since 1997 so my trust is still there until this crash happend to me and first time in my entire life its good thing it happens with in my property what if this malfunction happens outside and i hurt somebody that accidentwas traumatic to me i don't want to drive that car anymore i don't know what will happen next. I file complain with them, then after 3 weeks they don't want to take responsibility and advise me to justclaim accidenton my insurance. I ask the service manager to please email me a copy of their investigation and a written report on their advise on me. I was driving on the highway and with no warning the vehicle lost pressure when pressing on the gas peddle to drive to maintain speed limit when driving the car.the transmission fluid was checked and there was the recommended level of transmission fluid.mechanic stated error code p0868.per mechanic/transmission specialist this is a known problem with mitsubishi transmissions and they are only able to get the transmission from a dealer.please note that his has occurred to other 2014 mitsubishi outlanders with 50,000 or less that were purchased at the lancaster mitsubishi in lancaster, pa.

The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.

The center seat belt is very unsafe. Once the latch is release, it goes back to the top corner, but it hit my son in the eye and forehead. Once you remove the seat belt( center passenger), the belt rolls up very quickly(upper back corner), so the passenger on the third row has to be careful. I have three boys and they are not very careful and they also assume that the seat belt would not roll up so quickly. It very unsafe and bad designed.

Every time while existing the car, getting too much static. It doesn't matter with weather condition. If it is a small drive or long drive, static building up with seats fabric and gives the static electricity when you touch the door or any part of the vehicle. It concerning every time while going to gas station to fill the gas.

On march 6, 2018 i was involved in a crash. I rear ended another vehicle in slow moving bumper to bumper traffic. When i hit the brake the car began to slide straight forward. No pulsation from the anti-lock brakes. I was and am very surprised that my car did not stop in time. In the interim isettled my claim with my insurance company. On 3/29/2018. On 3/30/2018 i received a letter from mitsubishi telling me of an issue they call a "parking break" problem. I have asked severalmechanics about the possible need to replace "the piston assembly of the rear brake caliper will be replaced with a countermeasure unit".i have bee assured this could have caused a failure to the anti-lock braking system. Because i no longer own the car i have notified allstate insurance of the present recall. If possible this should be an urgent recall. Sadly i have lost thousands of dollars and a record of 36 years of accident free driving.please investigate

While in motion, there is a noise coming from the wheels, and it gets louder as the speed increases and then a burning smell, and the noise gets lower when reducing speed.

Same as two (2) other entries herein..... The roof sustaineddents from the blower of a non-contact car wash.when i first saw the dents, i wondered what caused them.like [xxx]says....:"now you know the rest of the story". And now so do i.mystery solved. Yes the roof is very thin, and " tinny" sounding in this area.the steel in this area needs to be to reinforced with a light weight material. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Went through car wash blowers at end of wash literally dented roof. After surveying damage came to conclusion the metal on the roof is extremely thin. There is very little support and safety.

Like another post i saw. After going through the car wash the roof was dented from the blowers while exiting the carwash. I have to pay out of pocket to fix the roof though i didn't do anything at all. Just a flimsy thin roof in the front above the windshield.

When i put my car in reverse, my rear camera does not work.... I have not had any sort of accident.

Air bag light always on. Alternator continues to run even when car is turned off which kills my battery.

I placed my child in the car seat in the rear seat of the vehicle. It was a warm day so once she was safely fastened, i started the car to run the air conditioner. It has a keyless start and the keys were in my pocket. Once the car was started, i got out to go back to the back seat with my daughter while we waited on my wife, who was still in the restaurant paying the bill. When i got out of the car, the keys were still in my pocket. I closed the driver door. It started beeping because the keys were not present(they were in my pocket, not the interior of the vehicle). This caused the doors to lock. I tried to open all of the doors, they were all locked. The key fob would not unlock the doors. I pressed the button on the key fob to release the manual key. I insterted it into the key hole and turned. It would not respond. None of the buttons would respond. Manual key appears to also be electronic. My 16 month old child was locked in the running car alone. My wife came out and was trying to appease her through the window. We called emergency services and the fire department was dispatched. After about 15 minutes, my unsupervised daughter pulled her barrette from her hair and placed it in her mouth. I pulled a green stake from the ground that was previously supporting an adolescent tree. I threw it like a javelin 10 times at the car window in an attempt to break it. It wouldn't break. Luckily, a man pulled up with a small window breaking hammer designed to break windows from the inside of a car submerged in water. I used this to eventually break the window and dislodge the item from my daughter's throat.the car locked me out although a retained the keys. Luckily the vehicle was running. Any parent who parks the car and gets out to remove their car from the rear seat could experience the same fate. I can replicate this issue on command. It wasn't a fluke.

The rearview camera system suddenly quit showing video when i put the car in reverse.the camera itself still works as i can go into the settings for brightness, color, etc., the back up sensors still beep when i am backing up and the reverse lights still work as well.from looking at the mitsubishi forum (https://www.mitsubishi-forums.com/threads/reverse-camera-not-coming-on.72338/#post-360974) , apparently this is an issue for many people. One forum member states an etacs coding entry called 'rear_cmr_prst' says it is 'not present.' i feel this is most definitely a safety issue, particularly when backing out of a public parking spot. I realize this is a convenience item for my year of vehicle (2014), but since the cameron gulbransen kids transportation safety act of 2007 became law as of may 1, 2018, these items are standard equipment on all new vehicles.from reading the forum, any repairs are at the expense of the consumer, and my local mitsubishi shops have no idea of what is wrong and have never heard of the problem. Many in the forum mention 'vehicle signal check' menu, etacs programming, can communications, coding data, and other wiring information the average consumer is oblivious of.if rearview cameras are required equipment due to passage of the above law, shouldn't this issue be a safety recall for repair or replacement of the defect at manufacturer expense?by the way, this car has never been in any accident, had any damage done to the rear of the vehicle and has always been well cared for and maintained.

The car started shaking profusely while driving. I pulled over and it was loud. I turned off the car and everything seemed normal. I started driving and after about 100yards it started shaking and wouldn't accelerate. I was on access road driving. It came all of a sudden.

The contact owns a 2014 mitsubishi outlander. While driving 30 mph, the acceleration seized and would not respond after a stop. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the acceleration was normal. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure occurred everyday since the vehicle was purchased from a used car lot. The approximate failure mileage was 23,000.

On friday, november 18, 2016, i was driving my wife's 2014 mitsubishi outlander sport.as i was pulling into a parking spot at the harris teeter grocery store located at 2019 s glenburnie road, new bern, nc.i was pulling into a parking spot on the left.therefore, i had my foot on the brake to slowly pull into the spot.as i continued to move in a forward motion with my foot on the braketo come to a stop, the car suddenly lurched forward.i had not pulled completely into the spot at the time, so my foot would have still been on the brake.when our car lurched it then hit the car in front of us.the left side of our car impacted the left side of the car parked in the spot in front of the spot we were pulling into causing that car to roll out of its parking spot into the middle of the aisle in the parking lot.the car that was hit had quite a bit of damage to the front left fender of the car and the car had to be towed as it could not be driven. Our car's left fender also suffered damage and the radiator was busted.our car also had to be towed from the lot. We are having the vehicle checked to see what made it lurch.and honestly, i will be afraid to drive the vehicle when it is fixed if they for some reason say they don't find a problem with it. I am uploading pictures of the damage done to both cars.i also received a citation for the accident and now have to go to court to clear this up.i will also be filing this complaint directly with mitsubishi motors. This was the first occurrence, but i wanted to report this before a situation like this happens again, possibly causing more injury or death.

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair as the recall notice was received over a year ago. The dealer (ourisman mitsubishi, 4404 branch ave #100, marlow heights, md 20748) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was contacted several times and was unable to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The first time i drove this vehicle in the snow i realized that the wipers are placed below the heated part of the windshield. This causes the wipers to freeze up and not clear the windshield properly reducing visibility.i think that an angled wiper arm that places the wiper over the defog would correct the problem.i've driven in snowy weather twice since and it has happened each time.

We had a spontaneous sunroof glass explosion. We were driving down the highway approximately going 65mph at night, and there was no other vehicles around. All of a sudden there was a large explosion sound. I thought at first that a tire may have blown. I then heard a large amount of wind coming from the top of car. I pulled over to inspect and saw the sunroof was shattered, with many of the pieces on top of the inside shield.
