I own a green 99 mitsubishi galant and the clear coat is coming off causing my car to look like it has alligator skin it started on the roof and has now spread to the trunk and hood. I called mitsubishi to see if they had any complains about the paint and i was told no. The operator then asked what state i live in and when i told her that i live in texas, she told me that i should have expected to have paint problems with my vehicle because the texas sun is so harsh. I have also been involved in 3 accidents in the vehicle and my airbags have never deployed. I also have a problem keeping wheel cover on all it takes is a slight bump in the road and off they come. This year model also has major problems with the rotors warping.

As long as i have owned this vehicle, i have had a problem with the whole car shaking when i step on the brakes.i took it back to my dealer in oct 1999 and they turned the rotars but the problem continued.i just recently had to have it in because the battery failed and had them check out the brakes while i was there and they said i need a complete brake job.i ask the service manager to check to see if they had been done before and he found they had.he said he would turn the rotars again but i was responsible for the brake pads. The brakes were really tight when i got the car back last week, but now they seem to be getting back where they were. Thiscar is only two years old and already had to have the battery replaced and the brakes.i feel the dealer should have changed the brake pads at no cost to me.after reading all the complaints about these cars the majority are about the brakes.

1999 mitsubishi galant with clearcoat failure on entire top of hood, car, and trunklocal dealer said i was out of luck, car was 5.5 years old when i noticed and they said they could do nothing

Paint flaw ,the clear coat is coming off. It has spread all over the car.my whole car looks as if it is camoflouge.i was wondering if anyone else has complained of this happening to their black galant.my local dealer says that there is no recall on the paint.i think it should be.a paint job should last longer than4 years.the car had a little spot on it when i bought it, but it spread over the whole thing in less than a year.sounds like a defect to me.

Driver side foot rest loose.yh

Both airbags failed to deploy, extensive front end damage on 07/06/00. Problem # 2 front disc brakes have always made a grinding noise and front end has a vibration.car was taken back to dealer a couple of months after purchase, front brake shoes were replaced and rotors turned(not covered by warranty).this failed to fix problem, i have since learned to live with it(can't afford to have it fixed).note: i believe you may have a recall on my third problem with this vehicle, although i have not received a recall notice from the manufacturer, my car loses power to my accessories(radio, air conditioning,etc.).

On february 4, 1999 at 11,416 miles, i complained of vibration when braking.according to the service receipt, the brake rotors were resurfaced. On may 20, 1999, i complained of vibration when braking the mileage at this time was 19,394.according to the service receipt, the front rotors were replaced.again on july 16, 1999, at 26,975 miles,i took my car in for repair a third time for vibration when braking. According to the service receipt, the front rotors were replaced and the rear drums resurfaced.each time the problem subsided for a while but then returned.on september 9-10, 1999, the dealership again attempted to fix the problem.they indicated that they had received a "technical bulletin" with suggestions for addressing the problem.this time, they replaced the brakes and added some kind of bushings to the steering system.now i am experiencing a continuous low-level vibration at interstate speeds.in addition, on september 16th, 1999, i began experiencing problems with my headlights.when i use my left turn signal, the lights automatically go to "bright".in addition, the headlights will not go off when the switch is in the "off" position.

When engine speed falls to idle (with fan and radio and defrost all set to off), all lights in car, and the headlights, will dim.it's very noticeable. When engine speed rises, lights brighten.i've had the car in muliple times to get this fixed.the dealer has recently been in contact with mitsubishi motors and their techs told the mechanics to check various things (like bad grounds), but nothing has been found to be a problem.mitsubishi now says that it's "normal operation."this car never used to do this up until around novermber 2000.a person who works at burlington mitsuibishi grabbed a new galant off the lot, and the lights didn't dim at idle.i also had a 1996 mitsubishi galantand i did not have problems with the lights dimming.i don't feel this is a safety issue at this point, but who knows what might happen.i want to sell this car (cause i needed and boughtan all-wheel drive car) and i feel that this condition is going to hurt the value of this car.i know that if i were to buy it from someone, i'd not be happy to see these lights dimming at idle.i feel that i'm being strong-armed by mitsubishi because they don't know what the problem is.so far the altenator has been replaced, and the rest has been testing.

Headlights illuminated although the headlight switch was in the off position.this incident occurred while parked and caused the battery to completely discharge, requiring motorist assistance.the headlights were observed to illuminate with the switch in the off position several times after the original incident.this was caused by a defective headlight switch located on the steering column.due to the defect in the lighting control system, this could cause headlights to function intermittently while driving at night.this would be a safety concern to lose headlight function while driving.

Cars slips all the time when the abs light is on.today it was raining and it almost caused a crash. The car would not stop at a speed of 25 mph in traffic. Very scary.

My galant has had wheel vibration problems since i purchased it brand new in 2000. I took it to the dealership a countless number of times to figure out what the problem was. They always told me that it needed to be balanced and that they would replace the rotors, pads and bushings on the front passenger wheel. I still had the wheel vibrations and continued to argue with them about the problem while loosing time at work and spending my weekend mornings and afternoons at the dealership. Every six months i've been taking my car to get the tires balanced and aligned to at least limit the vibrations to a minimum. The car vibrates at highway speeds and has more tire wear on the passenger front tire than on the rest of the car. 68,000 miles and 5 years with only 8 more payments left to go and i feel that i've been mistreated by mitsubishi after this being my second mitsubishi car. Due to mitsubishis' poor service and unwillfulness to help a 2 time buyer of their cars i am no longer loyal to mitsubishi. I own a 1996 nissan altima that runs 2 times better than my galant that i bought brand new in 2000.

They have replaced rotors four (soon to be five) times without fixing problem.warrenty is soon up, i don't want to have to start paying form a problem they won't fix

Brakesrotors defective.

Rotors always seem to be re-cut.and resurfaced every year!

Front rotors warped at around 15000 miles.at the first incident, i had the rotors turned and bought high quality pads.shortly thereafter, the rotors warped again.i bought another set of rotors, and things were okay for about 10000 miles.afterwards, braking vibration came back.i decided to buy brembo slotted rotors in case the factory rotors were not good enough.i finally found an internet site that had them for this car, but i probably cannot write the name here.i also made sure my tire center did not torque the lugs over 80 foot pounds when rotating the tires.after a rotation, i used my torque wrench to verify proper torque.so far the brembo rotors have not warped.lastly, i have noticed the steering wheel vibrates at highway speeds.tire rotation and balancing does not help.

Rotors have been replaced twice and turned twice. Dealer advised mitsubishi rotors are bad and that if i replaced the rotors with after market rotors problem would cease.

Vehicle vibrates when brakes applied. Took to dealer first time complaining about vibration in dec 1999, less than 6 months after getting vehicle; second time, in march 1999 (rotors found warped, front rotors and pads resurfaced); third time apr 1999 (rotors warped again, front rotors and rear drums resurfaced); forth time jun 1999 (rotors warped again, front left & right rotors replaced this time); fifth time, front rotors turned.electrical problem in oct 1999, all of a sudden no radio, wipers, cigarrette lighter, horn.no problem found by dealer.now vehicle vibrates even without applying brakes, when reaching 55 mph.several calls to mitsubishi customer service have been "cordially" unhelpful, have not had dealer contact us about problem as they promised in october 1999, over a month ago. No longer have any confidence in this vehicle.

I have taken my galant to the dealer for service 6 times in the last 2 yrs. For service on the rotors.after the accident, i took the car in again.they checked the car and said that there was no problem with the brakes, however the area rep. Stated that the rotors are warped, but that is normal and does not effect the brakes.

I leased a 1999 mitsubishi galant on aug 30, 1999,two weeks later i took my car back because of hearing grinding and scrubbing noises when applying my brakes, i was told by a rude service manager that it wasbrake dust so all they did was clean it out which was a lame excuse, i have been driving and owned cars for more than 15 years, a couple of weeks later the same thing again i was told it was brake dust, about a month after that i made an appointment and went in again and was told i needed rotors and began to tell how much it costs, i argued that point because it is a lease so then they replaced the rotors.i have replaced rotors and/or brakes pads at least every 3000 to 5000 miles since then because i just did not have the time to play the dealers games.it gets so bad that i have to pump the brakes every time and the front end of the car vibrates like it is falling apart especially going down hill, have to start pumping the brakes at the top of the hill in order to stop safely.and to top that off, i called to make an appointment to take my car in again last summer and the dealership has gone out of business.this has gone on wasting my money for over three and a half years, in january of this year i had an accident because of my brakes, i did not have ample time to apply the brakes when another driver pulled out in front of me, thankfully no one was hurt, i had three thousand dollars worth of damage.my question is why does this go on, why has mitsubishi not recalled these cars to correct the problem or are they not able to correct it?do they not have the proper knowledge to locate and correct the problem? does someone have to be seriously injured or killed before someone at mitsubishi gives a [xxx] about the poor construction and possible inadequate parts used in the braking system of these cars??from what i am able to find out these problem still exist even on the brand new galant's, what is the deal??*nlminformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c.

Rotors keep warping, had replaced them twice.

I have had problem after problem...had rotors replaced 3 mos after purchase, complained of violent shaking numerous times.i was told this was b/c i had "after factory" wheels that were too big for my car.i learned to live with it.the next thing to occur was a loud noise while driving coming from front end wheels.in june of 2001, i had an a/c idler pulley replaced for $150.as soon as i drove away, the noise presented again.i finally gave up on sitting at the dlrshp for 3 hrs w/a 3 yr old, so i've learned to live with it...yet again.the noise still persists as of 2/02.in may of 2001, i began experiencing electrical problems.to date i've had all recalls svcd.upon the start of my car, the sunroof, lights, anything power, radio, etc., were not in function.i noticed this the first time after pulling away.numerous times thereafter (2x in rain) i started to pull out and turn on my w/shld wipers to realize nothing worked.my temp. Fix was to shut off the car and restart again...praying.as of late...i have had my e brake light luminated for about 2 months, for no reason.my oil lamp light would come on here and there.when starting my car now, sometimes my radio will be "on" but, won't start working and will eventually come in from the back spkrs up to the front.the other temp fix i've found when things aren't working, is to turn the key slightly back toward me and it turns things on.on top of all this...my black weather stripping on top of my car has flown off (clips broke) this happened the first cold w/end of dec 2001.w/in 2 days, both flew off while i was on the hwy.i had to pull off to removed the remainder.and getting to the last but not least stuff...one day last week, my locks would not stayed in the locked position.i would lock all, reverse, turn, do anything and they would unlock themselves, miraculously, the next day it stopped.as of last night, my door ajar lamp is on and remains on & my dome lights -will not shut off.

Since purchase of car in january 1999 i have had 5 repairs done due to vibration upon braking.each time i was told the rotors were warped.after 12,000 miles mitsubishi refused to cover the repairs, even though this had been a continuing problem since the purchase of the car.

Brakes began making a loud vibrational whining or "winding down" sound whenever brakes were applied.sometimes the steering wheel would pull if the stop was abrupt.at first visit to dealer, problem was denied.four more subsequent visits resulted in replacement of pads, rotors, and even wheel hubs.last repair was at 19 or 20,000 miles; noise began to return as the vehicle odometer turned 22,000.dealer would not offer satisfaction; i sold the car, suspecting that this would be a recurring problem for the life of the car.i had safety concerns as well as the annoyance of repeated repairs.

I took it to a mitsubishi dealership and they can't seem to find the problem where the noise is coming from and i'm concerned about my safety at times driving my car because this has been an ongoing process every since i got my car, know one seems to know what's going on.

Automobile pulls to the right side while braking.grinding noise is heard while braking.automobile was taken to savannah mitsubishi on 10-26-98 for repairs.no problems found.i was told that grinding noise is common is abs.on 12-15-98, while suddenly braking to prevent from hitting another automobile, automobile pulled to the right side causing me to hit the curb.impact with curb caused right front tire to blow.a towing service was called to remove wheel.mechanic stated that rust had settled between wheel and axle which made it difficult to remove wheel.since the incident, automobile continues to pull while braking also vibration and grinding noise.prior to incident, on 11-14-98, manufacturer was notified of the problems with vehicle.a representative telephoned on 12-9-98 informing me to continue to take the automobile in for repairs.consumer affairs advised me to make a final attempt to repair with the manufacturer which was done on 12-14-98.they have not yet to respond.manufacturer was also made aware of the incident.no response.per ga lemon law, i have followed all guidelines establishing reasonable number of repair attempts, requesting final attempt to repair and requesting repurchase of automobile.this automobile has proven to be unsafe.( dot number: obv9 tire size: p195/60r15 )

I purchased a '99 mits galant for my daughter for her 16th b'day in november of 2004.she continually complained of steering wheel vibration which i did feel on the couple of occasions i drove the vehicle.in late 2005 she went to make a left hand turn and the vehicle would not steer left.she subsequently hit a retaining wall.i did not turn it into my insurance since it was purely cosmetic.she was driving the vehicle very little.she saved her money until last month when she had the front end repaired.within weeks of getting the vehicle back she again went to make a left turn off of our street and the vehicle would not steer left again.she hit a trailer and pushed it into a fence.unfortunately, this time she was injured and had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance.due to this 2nd occurrence i decided to check for recalls that deal with the steering on these vehicles.i found recall #00v225001 dated 8/10/2000 that describes her problems perfectly.i don't understand why i was not made aware that i needed to have this checked when i purchased the vehicle.i think the manufacturer should take care of the current repairs on the vehicle or replace it.

The paint on my car is fading, i see white spots on the hood, trunk and roof of car.the car is black.i see many other, same type, cars with this problem.the body shop told me it is a defect from when it was painted.

Spring 2003 my 1999 black mitsubishi galant starting have problems with the clear coat.it began fading and cracking on the back side of my moonroof.it has now spread over the entire top of my car, the trunk lid and now has begun on my hood.i called the local mitsubishi dealership back in july of 2003 while the car was still under warranty and was basically told that i would either have to pay to have it painted to leave it.last month we took the car in for a free inspection promotion they were doing and had the service manager take a look at it.he said he had not seen anything like that happen to a car and would have the kansas city representative come down and take a look at it.he also apologized that the service rep. I had talked to before blew me off.the kansas city rep. Came down and said mitsubishi would not pay for it that i had set something on my car to cause the sun to burn or fade the clear coat.we have taken very good care of our car and have never put anything on it.i have done some research and have found several 1999 and 2000 owners with the same problem.should mitsubishi be responsible for this?something needs to be done!

I own a green 99 mitsubishi galant and the clear coat is coming off causing my car to look like it has alligator skin it started on the roof and has now spread to the trunk and hood. The vehicle had not been inspected or repaired. The contact expressed the concern of warranting a recall related to the exterior paint defect. The failure mileage was unknown.

Am writing to you because mitsubishi motorswas not taking responsibility for its products. On august 27,1999 i purchasedtheblack galant. This was my first new car purchased,, and while it has remained mechanically sound, for the last three years i have watched the paint disappear. Ihad service work performed at sam swope mitsubishi. In 2003 i complained about the paint, and was told only if the vehiclewas under the 3 year, 36,000 mile warrant, and over the past three years service department employees have seen the paint disappear. I asked several times if mitsubishi was repairing the paint, m and was told only if the vehicle was under the 3 years, 36,000 mile warranty. In october 2006 i complained to the dealer again. This time pictures were taken by the service manager and sent to the manufacturer. After about two weeks the response that i received from the service manager was that mitsubishi would not pay to fix the paint because the carwas too old, and that no other complaints made by me were found. I complained to mitsubishi motor customer relations department in may of 2005. The customer service employee i spoke with stated that the problem with thepaint was probably environmental, and that becausethe car was over the 3 year, 36,000 mile mark that nothing could be done. I complained again in december 2006. The customer service employee stated, that my car was too old, and that nothing would be done about the paint. Thegalant came to the dealer with a chrome pen stripe. When i purchasedthe galant i had the pen stripe removed by the dealerbecause the outer layer of the pen stripe was pealing off. Thiswas proof that therewas a flaw in the manufacturing/finishing process. The paint around where the pen strip waslocated disappeared while the paint under where the pen stripewas intact and in good shape.

Snow/ice builds up in the wheel wells and on cold days it cannot be knocked out off the wells, the ice is thick and hard and rubs against the tires causing premature wear and makes driving and steering more difficult.nlm

Bumper is hanging. Dealer says its a manufacturer problem and they cannot repair it.

The passenger side door will not open properly.the problem has been repaired two times and is again a problem.possible safety issue as the passenger has difficulty opening the door.

The door handles that you pull to exit the vehicle has snapped off on the drivers door. I cannot exit the car without putting the power window down and reaching out to open the door. If i have no power i cannot put the window down making it impossible for me to get out of the car without climbing over to the passenger side. I belive this is a manufacturers defect because i have 2 door handles that have cracked in the same place, one has not completely broken off yet, but the drivers door handle has renedering it impossible for the driver to open the door from the inside. They are made out of cheap plastic and i would not be surprised to find the other 2 handles have also cracked in the same place.

The driver and passenger side door handles are cracked.yh

Leaking coal tar from door sealant- defective both front doors.

Tiresare shaking due tolugs:nuts being too loose. Also, rear of vehicle is too low/ brakes have been repaired five times, and the odometer isn't working.

Dt:the contact stated while adjusting the driver's side seat foothits the trunk opener, causing the trunk to come open.thhis e contactcontacted the dealership, but has not contacted the manufacturer.

Steering wheel shimmies whenever vehicle reaches 60 mph or more. Vehicle been has been in / out of dealer shop, and problemstill goes unresolved. Feel free to provide further details.

Thermostat stuck causing engine overheating. Also, ac runs cold and then warm in city driving. On the highway it is cold. A severe vibration occurs in city driving with the air conditioner on also. I have to turn the air off to make it quit. I contacted the dealer about both of these problems and because it is not under 36k miles they will not do anything else about it.

When traveling at 65 mphcar tends topull to the right and left.while driving at about 30mph and slowing down, the car vibrates.

Steering wheel shakes when driven over 65 mph or over.

Either when driving or braking the car begins to shake.

Vehicle will vibrate when driving at speeds of 50 mph or more which could cause loss of vehicle control. Dealer can't figure out the cause.

Vehicle wanders off into another lane. Also, driver's side seatbelt retractors are in backwards/there is a gasoline leak from underneathvehicle, and vehicle shakes and vibrates when traveling on the highway.

While traveling down a dirt road going about 5 mph the lower control arm broke not any of the rubber boots the control arm itself rusted and broke.

Front passenger's seat belts would not retract but half way & then lock up. Would not retract to original position after locking up. Vehicle would also shake when brakes are applied. Vehcle drifts hard to the right at any speed. The tires needed alignment. Had taken vehicle to dealership only once for problems.

While traveling on the highway steering will begin to shakeand vibrate sometimes hard, sometimes notat all.consumerhas experienced the same problem as recall00v225001, team mitsibishi says that they have this problem listed under recalls.

Vehicle experiences front end vibration continually. Mjs

When driving at any speedvehicle will pull to both right and left, causing loss of vehicle control.consumer has contated the dealer, dealer yet to determine the cause ofproblem.please provide any further details.

Steering vibrates whendrivingvehicle.then, vehicle will wonder left and right intermittently.consumer stated that he talked with dealership, andmechanic told him that they couldn't duplicate the problem.

Vehicle vibrates and pulls to the side consumer states she purchased new tires and firestone told her that tires should not have worn out in such a short time, possibile suspension problems may have contributed to the vibration of vehicle .

When driving at any speed and applyingbrakesvehicle is pulling to the left or right. Also, and there is some knocking noise coming from the vehicle.

There is a violent vibration ofsteering wheel when vehicle is traveling above 50 mph.all recallshave been repaired invehicle, front suspension was redone, replacedlower control arms/balance dand rotated on numerous occasions.dealership just replaced front tires, and stated thattires were causingvibration.please provide any additional information/attachments.

Steering wheel wasextremely vibrating, and sometimes it makes consumer lose control.dealer had told consumer there was a problem with the front suspension.

While driving about 60-65 mphsteering wheel will start vibrating andfront of vehicle feels like is going to come apart.had taken vehicle to dealer, and they said that problemwas withfront end.

Rotors were defective when applying brakes vehicle vibrated/ front ends was misaligned.and tireswarped. Consumer tookvehicle to t dealership four or more times.

I noticed a vibration during brake application and at highway speeds.i had the tires rotated, then balanced then front rotors turned, then front rotors replaced, then front wheels re-balanced.i was then told of a "new" service bulliten covering the front end lower swing arm replacement.after working on my vehicle an entire day (following waiting a month to get the part and schedule mx) i was told that the car already has the "new" bushing and they did not know what was wrong with it.now i hear a "clang" in the front end when decelerating or accelerating and can feel it through the steering wheel.and of course, the front end still vibrates at high way speeds.

While driving down the street and upon applying brakes, front end shimmied and shook, almost lost control .contacted dealer, and hereplaced the rotors.a month later, the same problemoccurred, anddealer replaced tires/bushing, and rotors.

Vehicle shutters severly when braking. Dealer resurfaced the rotors/changed the pads & replacedlower control arm.the higher the speed the more it shuttered. Dealer repairedvehicle on 6-05-2000 because it was spqueaking & pulsating.when vehicle was picked up,it was doing the same thing.

Defective left lower control arm assembly.

I need to replace my tires at 26,000 miles. Mentor mitsubishi told me they can't do anything about it, ihave to call goodyear. When i call goodyear, they know nothing either. I have a rubbing noise coming from my tire area and the two dealers i took it to won't fix the problem.

1999 galant clear coat on plastic bumpers, hood, roof, trunk and window arches is all peeling, blistering and cracking.this is mentioned by numerous persons with the same year car.i was told upon purchase of car (before paint had a problem) that 1999 was first year of using a "mercedes" manufactured paint.mitsubishi claims consumers are at fault for various chemical cleaning products and sun/parking conditions.

I have a 99 black galant and the earlier part of 2005 i started seeing my paint fade off. It started on the roof and gradually spead to the trunk. Now the paint has faded off both areas. I want it painted so i called the dealership where i bought my car and asked did they have a recall number but he told me he would need the last 8 numbers of my vin to see if there was a recall. I didn't tell him what the problem was. So after that i got on the internet to see what i could find and was surprised to see three others complaints about galants. I have a friend that also has a black galant with the same problem. There should be something the dealership could do because there are too many galants with this problem.

1999 galant clear coat defective.i bought the car a year old and within the next year the clear coat started to flake off the roof and trunk.i believe that there was a defect in the paint that was used.i have seen several with the same problem.i believe that the car is to new to have this much paint damage.and no i have not used anything on it, such as chemicals or so on that has been previously stated by other dealers.i consider this poor manufacturer and should be corrected by the manufacturer.

On the passenger side, above the rear wheel, the paint began to bubble and eventually rust. This began approximately one year after purchase. It is now rusting more. I took it to the dealer a couple of years ago and they told me it must have had a bad repair job. However, i recently saw another galant with the exact same problem in the same location.

The vehicle experienced braking problems which may result inextended stopping distance andcause a crash.dealer replaced rotors and pads.problem still occurring.please provide further information.

Started to notice that the clear coat on my 1999 black mitsubishi galant was peeling off on the hood. Now my hood, roof, and trunk are totally peeling off.noticed this on a lot of other black galants. I know the car was about 5 years oldwhen i first noticed it, but the paint shouldn't of got so bad so quick. Any recalls on mitsubishi paint?

I have a 1999 "black" mitsubishi galant, which i purchased brand new. The complaint is over the paint job, i have notice several different "black or dark colored" galant have major damage to the paint job, where the clear coat has totally been destroyed by oxidation."this is a manufacture's flaw!!"

Going from reverse to drive, car accellerated and smashed into a mobile home. (details? [email protected]). I was attempting to back out of someones dirt driveway. I was positioned at an angle. When i backed out (going about 3-5 mph), i bumped into a tree. I then put my foot on the brakes so that i could put the car in drive. When i put the car in drive, the car accellerated at an extreme rate and made a terrible loud noise. The car then thrusted forward (the entire time my foot was heavy on the brake - i am 100% sure of this!). The brake did not stop the car. After traveling about 60 feet, the car then careamed into a mobile home. I turned the ignition off. I believe though that the car was stopped by the metal beams from the mobile home. The car is now at the dealership. I am looking into the lemon law due to this incident and other problems. Trying to get the car repurchased or replaced.

I was backing up at about 5 mph when the car suddenly accelerated even though i had my foot off the accelerator.

Mentor mitsubishi should be checked out for fraud-they are not decent people there. No safety defect listed.

I was stopped at a light when i barely let my foot off the brake. My vehichle lept forward, hitting the car in front of me, which caused that car to hit the car in front of him.

No summary listed for above vehicle.

I had pulled into a parking space in a shopping center's parking lot.the car was crooked so i put the car in reverse to merely straighten it out at which point the car flew backwards as if my foot had pressed the accelerator to the floor and held it there although this certainly was not the case.as my foot was on the brake and this was happening i shifted the car into park.all this occurred in a 3 second period and i'm not sure what actually stopped my car- the brake, the gear in park or the car i hit which parked 12-15 ft behind me.i've had a safe driving record for many years and have never had anything like this occur.

After taking foot off of brake pedalvehicle accelerated into a wall at high speed. Dealer has vehicle.

The gas pedal sticks causing car to accelerate to fast. Seems to be when i first get in the car after it has set for a couple of hours. This sticking pedal is going to cause an accident and needs to have a recall based on the information i have seen on this web site.

Ever since purchase of 1999 mitsubishi galant in 2003 the heater does not work properly. Engine temp is normal but blows out cold air. Give it the gas and it blows out hot air. Take foot off of gas and goes cold. Replaced thermostats told that it is a defective heater core that goes bad in all of mitsubishi's.

Rear window exploded into thousands of tiny pieces when passenger side door was closed.

The hooks on the hub caps do not hold properly the hub cap on the rim of the wheel properly.hitting the lightest bump in the road would cause a loss of one or more of the caps. Consumerreplaced four hub caps.

Tiresare shaking due tolugs:nuts being too loose. Also, rear of vehicle is too low/ brakes have been repaired five times, and the odometer isn't working.
