Noise of sloshing water in the trunk and water dripping onto the driver's floor; soaking wet carpet. Very bad odor! causing a sick feeling. Rear passenger windows failed; right and left approximately six months apart. The malfunction caused the windows to fall down into the door panel. Roaring noise coming from both front and rear wheels.

The car has been accumulating fluid on the floor of the driver's side. Usure of where the problem was, we have been absorbing the water and airing out the car. Mold has accumulated as well (black mold) and now i know why i've had repeated respiratory problems, including pneumonia three times over the past 2 years. Rust is also forming due to the constant humidity levels inside the car. The brake pedal seems to be rusting as well as the driver's side chair floor mount. I cannot see what is happening to the electrical wiring, as it is covered by the panels. There have been numerous times that due to the liquid on the floor of the driver's side, my foot has slipped while depressing the brake which has led to potential accidents. As i cannot see the floor itself (due to the carpeting), i don't know if that is rusting out as well.i have not taken it to a dealer yet, since i didn't know what the problem was... I thought that maybe rain was getting into the car somehow. Well, since it hasn't rained in over one week, and the puddle in the car was worse than ever before, i suspected the a/c system. I went online and have found numerous complaints and yet there is no recall? i am appalled that this situation has not been addressed? fungal respiratory infections can lead to death, especially for those who are vulnerable. Slippery brake pedals, rusting floor boards and rusting seat floor anchors, potential for electrical shorts and/or fires are not acceptable. The company has apparently not taken responsibility for these issues. Perhaps it will take a death for a recall? i would like to emphasize that no mechanic was able to definitively tell us where this leak was coming from, nor were we able to tell... Until now. It has been two years. This car has no resell value and should not be sold due to the potential for serious harm. This matter is long overdue!

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. The contact stated that the ignition switch failed. The vehicle was unresponsive when shifted into drive and the contact attempted to accelerate. In addition, the neutral indicator would illuminate erroneously when the vehicle was shifted into drive. The vehicle was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign id number: 08v139000 (electrical system: ignition switch). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the contact was told that the warranty on the repair had ended. The failure mileage was 142,000 and the current mileage was 142,700.

The consumer had to take the vehicle into the dealer because none of the windows would roll down, and the doors would not lock or unlock from the driver side remote button. A whining noise was heard in the transmission.windshield wiper blades would not turn off.warning light in the dash continues to come on.*tc

No event leading to failure.several electrical itmes in the car stopped working- radio, display, dealer are currently trying to locate problem, they believe a ground wire is loose.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. The contact stated that the vehicle made a clicking noise and failed to start. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be repaired but the issue recurred. Standing water on driver side floor.hvac drain plug is clogged and now warning lights for many different items are appearing on dash display and this is caused by water running through. I do not know of many auto makers that put drain plug under dash board. This could very well turn into an electrical and or fire hazard. Contacted dealer and was told this was the first they have heard of this. There are many many many complaints online so they do know about the problem.

It looks like that the mitsubishi endeavor has design defects where the a/c water leaks inside the car. I started to notice water under driver and rear seats. I thought that this is due to rain but when i took it for repair the mechanic told me that this is due to the a/c and the water is not draining out instead it is draining inside. I also went to the dealership here in jacksonville, fl and they also told me that this is a know problem and happens with this model. They told me that i have to either replace the compressor for $800 or they can clean and do something that will temporarily fix the problem costing $189. They also told me that there is no recall even though they know that this is a manufacturing defect. There is no guarantee that this problem will not happen even if i replace the compressor. Which is insane!!!searching the internet reviled that a lot of people are having the same issue.so far i drained more than 3 gallons of water from under the driver and rear passenger seats. I cannot use a/c in hot florida weather.so much water inside the car can also cause short circuit even fire. I believe this is a serious problem which mitsubishi should recall and fix.

2004 mitsubishi endeavor, over the pass year are so the black paint has been fading away and they only paint the spots that has faded (why not repaint the hold thing and same time they agree it is a defect). This next problem is current, 12-1-2008 i can not remove the key from the ignition after i put it in park and just rotate the key to turn off the suv the rotation stop and i can not remove it or began to force it to home position my key as of today 12-2-2008 is still in the ignition it will just rotate enough to turn the motor off and that is it, will this fall under the current recall of the electrical ignition problem.

My 2004 mitsubishi endeavor has some sort of leak right behind the dashboard similar to the one on complaint #10204166. My fan blower motor was replaced due to water damage and more water keeps coming down from behind the dash. Mitsubishi in the bronx wants to charge me a large amount for a repair that is a manufacturer defect. Can someone help me with this issue.

Mitsubishi endeavor 2004, 48k miles, moving at approx 40 miles per hour, passenger front door panel near the lock and window switches began smoking and quickly filled the entire vehicle with smoke sufficient to obscure all vision.within seconds flame appears out of the door panel and flames continued to spread until it engulfed most of the passenger door before it was put out with a fire extinguisher provided by nearby business.

Cannot remove key from ignition switch... Has always made an echo type sound when you are sitting idle since i bought the car in 2005.

Water leaking in the car from under the dash. First time was in 2005 second and third time july 2007. I have had to replace the evaporator, the box that holds that evaporator, compressor, and blower motor. I have wire damage done from the water leaking in the car. I have a warranty that is top cover all of these things by the dealer wouldn't honor stating that it is due to outside influences. Each time i have had to have my entire dash board removed to get to the box that is causing the problem. It is a manufacture error.

Consumer stated while returning from a short trip smelled smoke, lifted the hood, and saw the harness smothering light crazy. Truck had only 42 miles on it.consumer had only driven this vehicle 33 miles since hehad it.felt as if he should get another vehicle.spoke with the manufacturer, and they were sending a representative to look at the vehicle.consumer claimedhe got a lemon.

When in driving the truck will shake vibrates when i press on the gas pedal.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. While driving approximately 55 mph, there was an abnormal noise coming from the front of the vehicle and an unknown warning light illuminated. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the vehicle was repaired, but the repairs were unknown. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 190,729.

The a/c drain tube leaks and causes water to pool up on the driver's side floorboard underneath the carpeting.i have had the vehicle looked at two times and all they can do is blow the tube out, which only temporarily fixes the problem.it is recommended to have the dash removed in order to get to the box where the debris is located to repair the seal.i don't have hundreds of dollars to have this done, nor can i do without my vehicle for several days!this should be made a recall because it becomes not only a safety hazard, but also a health hazard.the water makes the floorboard wet, causes the windows to fog up on the inside and causes the flooring under the carpeting to possibly become corroded.plus, it causes mold to grow which makes my allergies flair up.so, mitsubishi if you read this, please consider recalling all endeavors to fix this problem!!

Blown engine on a well maintained, single owner 2004 mitsubishi endeavor with under 70,000 miles.at 55mph and without any prior warning (e.g. No warning lights on dash or changes in dashboard gauges), the car made an extremely loud noise (almost high revving like), became difficult to steer and rapidly was losing power.the battery light came on followed by the "service engine soon"and while the car would turn over and start the noise became louder and the car would stall out.after being towed to the garage, the car would not start at all and i was informed that the engine was blown. My mechanic also noticed that my driver side floor mat was soaked which i had actually noticed 2 weeks prior whenwas cleaning my car but had thought that i had accidentally gotten it wet during the washing process.given that we have had no rain since then nor had i washed the car since 2 weeks prior, it was clear that this was not an issue of getting it wet.my mechanic then said that of the 6 2004/2005 endeavors that he has repaired in the past year, he had seen the same issue and while some resolved with the unblocking of some line that had to do with the ac he also noted that the others required a much more extensive and costly repair due to the heating element which could cause the engine issue.he also noted that each of the endeavors with the soaked driver side mat issue had also lost their radios.ironically my radio had just gone out the week prior (it comes on as if it is working but no sound out of the speakers) & i had made an appt with mitsubishi to resolve.the more i read online the more i see the same issues that i and my mechanic have noted therefore it seems like there is clearly a very costly pattern of problems with this particular line/year of mits vehicles.given that i bought my car new in jan 2005 and serviced it accordingly, this issue seems suspect.

Bought this 2004 mitsubishi endeavor used with 64k miles in january.started using the air this summer and noticed driver's side floor is soaking wet after each use.found online that multiple people are having this same issue.called the dealership and they confirmed that mitsubishi is aware of it and have put together a fix between $220-$350 but there is no re-call.i was told the problem is a failed seal in the a/c unit.also, had to have the egr sensor replaced twice.called mitsubishi and they said nothing they can do because the car is out of warranty. It ran $400-$500 each time at the dealership.

After driving on a long trip, found the driver's side floor carpet and mat soaked with water. Ac drain tube is blocked causing mold and odor. The drain tube is too short and located inside the firewall and needs to be lengthened out of the firewall (per mitsubishi tsb-11-55-003). The flooring continues to be soaked with water even when the ac is not in operation. This is an unsafe condition due to the stepping on the wet floor mat and causing the break pedal and gas pedal to become wet, causing your foot to slip off the pedals when wet. Not to mention the breathing in the mold caused by the wetness.

2004 mitsubishi endeavor. A/c drain fails to properly drain causing water to drain onto the drivers side floor. This also occurred over two months during which i wasn't using the a/c so it may also be related to rain water or other condensation. Mitsubishi knows this is a problem but will not fix it. The dealer quoted me $900 to fix.

I purchased a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor from dave smith motors in september, 2005.it has been in the shop for repairs 6 times.once they replaced a falsely sealed front windshield, twice they repaired the heater core, and once they repaired the drive line. The 2 other visits were for initial inspection and estimate . Now it smells like burning electric wires and it is stalling while in motion.this car is unreliable and has been under repair for weeks!i am afraid to drive it because i never know when it is going to break down.

Mitsubitishi endeavor 2004 caught fire at approximately 2:30am. Owners awakened by car alarm to find rear of vehicle in flames, resulted in total loss.

Due to a faulty a.c. Filter material, the air condition drain duct is obstructed. The faulty material breaks down and hinders the ability of the condensation to drain outside of the suv. The water has no where to go and leaks into the interior floor board and saturatesthe carpet and interior components of the car. The water also becomes trapped in a pocket or area of the floorboard and cant drain outside. This problem results in a mold developing and can or will be harmful when exposed to prolong periods! we have had the drain line cleaned out on three separate occasions, at our own expense and the issue keeps recurring? the repair shop statesthe deteriorated filter material continues to break apart and become lodged in the drain line. Mitsubishi has yet to have a recall on this issue and their remedy is to bring it in to the dealership for a repair charge that is expensive, unaffordable and unreasonable! we are having breathing difficulties due to the obnoxious and possibly toxic mold smell. We need the car for transportation back and forth to our jobs and have no choice as we need to pay our bills! surely if this was a minor repair cost we would have corrected it due to the possibly harmful nature, however the repair cost is unaffordable. Considering this is a possible safety issue, we would appreciate and feel it necessary to investigate this issue and have the manufacturer correct it. We are aware of the economic hardship that is effecting everyone and are concerned, however insurance and safety of occupants should be upheld above any circumstance! certain molds are proven to be harmful or fatal. Thank you

They say its the drain of the auto air con system is clog i have been driving to san antonio tx 3 times already and they have not fixed it yet .they always its ready and its never is .they say they will give me my money back but what about my truck or the miles i've put in it plus gas and all the other stuff like drilling and cutting .please help me out .when im on the road its so dangerous because water is making my shoes slip when i try and put the brake .

Serious safety issue that will result in slippery floor carpeting, brake, and acceleration pedals due to design flaw. Water from a/c unit entering driver side drivers floor area. Wetting floor panel and carpeting. Possibly a grommet it seems to be a common problem in many endeavors .

My vehicle is 2004 endeavor, problem first noticed early oct 2010.driver side floorboard and rear passenger floorboard completely soaked with water. Water is coming underneath floor board from ac due to improper drainage. This is a major heath concern there needsto be recalled. After researching on the internet i found that this is a common problem with the endeavor and partneeded to repair problem is not expensive but labor is soexpensive becauseof difficulty in getting to problem area. This is definitely a design problem and we as consumers should not have to be overcharged for the repair, which according to dealer cost around 1000.00 . This is unrealistic.they present economy is bad enough without being ripped out my mitsubishi.i needed my car to get to work because this is my only source of transportation. I have no choice but to deal this soggy floor, mold, mildew, bad smell and not to mention health concerns.

Water is leaking in drivers side due to air con drain i had an accident due to slippery shoes.

I have a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor.a/c works some times in the city.most of the time after driving on the open highway it blows warm air or not at all.the thermistor assy has been replaced as well as the resistor harness for thermistor assy.did not correct he problem.misubishi states (which is false) that the problem i am having was caused by the placement of a fin sensor by an independent garage.what is a fin sensor (never had this replaced) and do you have any suggestions.thank you, bill

The condensation from the ac does not drain out of the vehicle properly. It is a "known" design flaw that does not provide a drain 'tube" but the water is supposed to drain out a hole and out through the frame behind the dashboard. The hole can become plugged. The water runs into the vehicle under the carpet an under the floor on the driver side. The carpet can have standing water making the foot wet and slippery on the pedal. Also the water has nowhere to go. The water will then evaporate and recondense on the windshield, obstructing views. I can never completely dry out the water and i am worried that mold is growing in the car. Also the waterlogged floor stinks horribly. I have a young child who complains everyday about the smell, but i worry more about the mold and the other safety issues i described above.

On september 1, 2007, i had been driving on the highway at approximately 60 mph for approximately 15 miles when the air conditioning suddenly began blowing hot air and the temperature gauge went above "h" immediately. I turned the air conditioning off, exited the highway immediately, stopped the car, and attempted to restart the car to remedy the problem, but when the vehicle was restarted the car was still past the "h" on the temperature gauge.i drove the vehicle to the first repair shop, and they discovered that the bottom half of my radiator had disintegrated and fallen off the bottom of my car, along with all of the coolant and other necessary parts.the radiator, thermostat, and coolant all have to be replaced.the mechanics stated that they have never seen anything like this happen to a car that wasn't at least 15 years old.my vehicle is a 2004 that i purchased in march 2004.

Car was traveling at 70 mph on highway-check engine light came on and within minutes car decelerated and stalled in middle lane right before major access ramp with heavy traffic flow. Car completely stalled . Unable to get over to shoulder due to traffic. There was definitely a potential for injury, collision from behind etc. Radiator busted, plugs replaced. Now engine heads have been dissembled and in the process of being replaced. Car has been out of owners possession for 2weeks.

Road debris caused a complete failure of my radiator because it is poorly designed with no protection from the front of the vehicle.there is no grill protection in front of the radiator so stones and debris are free to hit the radiator directly and puncture the tubing.this happened to me on 09-22-05.it will cost me $650 for a newly installed radiator from mitsubishi.the problem i am having is the design flaw which leads to safety issues.i am not guaranteed this won't happen again after my new radiator is installed because mitsubishi does not make an accessory to fix the design flaw.this is a safety issue because it will most likely happen on the highway at higher speeds, not city driving.mitsubishi should be made aware of this complaint immediately.

Early on a saturday morning, i was driving on a relatively traffic free l.a. Freeway.i happened to look down and notice the check engine light on and the temp gauge pegged.there was no other indication of a problem.fortunately i was able to get off the freeway before the car stalled.upon inspection a small hole was found in the front of the radiator.the problem seems to be a large grill opening with no screen or other protection.normally the radiator is protected by the ac cooler.but in the case of the endeavor, an inch of cheap fragile aluminum radiator is left exposed to even the slightest of road debris.since the stopping of a vehicle on a crowded freeway could result in a serious accident this needs to be corrected by the manufacturer.radiator was replaced at customer?s expense. *sc

We noticed that the engine was smelling hot, but no warning lights were on, so we made an appointment with a mitsubishi dealer, while driving it into the shop it began to overheat. After stopping several times to cool off the engine we made it to the dealer only for the car to just then get a check engine light on and stall completely out. We then found out that it was a hole in the radiator and was not covered under the power train warranty. We could not afford the 630 dollars that they wanted to charge us so we decided to have a known mechanic do the work. When the radiator was pulled out we found that since the air conditioning and coolant was behind the radiator it caused rubbing on the bottom of the radiator causing a small pin hole to be rubbed into it. We are working on having it repaired with a licensed radiator shop and replacing. The issue with us is that if the air conditioning continues to rub it will cause more holes and more problems.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor.on february 22, 2006, the contact started her vehicle, heard a loud banging noise, and then the engine failed.on may 8, 2007, the failure recurred.the dealer stated that the first failure was due to the upper engine and it was rebuilt.the dealer stated that the second failure was caused by the lower engine.the contact also stated that during the summer of 2006, the air conditioning failed.she stated that it would turn on and off automatically and it drained on the front passenger side of the vehicle.the engine size was unknown.the current mileage is 74,200 and failure mileage was 51,983.

Vehicle is making rattling noise from undercarriage during acceleration; high pitched whinning noise during driving after vehcile warmedup.was told by dealership that the intermediate exhaust pipe baffles broken internally, and entire intermediate exhaust needed to be replaced at a cost of $1,400 for part and $150 for labor.vehicle is only 3 years old with 45,000+ miles.

A/c drains to the interior drivers side floor board creating a sever safety hazard, also rusts out the fan blower.

On vac. While driving noticed the driver side floorboard soaked.read on line several people have had this problem.seems to be a defect from factory relating to the air conditioner.was fixed in 2005 models.it can be dangerous as your shoe gets wet and can slip on the brake or gas pedal.i understand it is a $800.00 fix.mitsubishi why haven't you done a recall on this??

The airconditioner quit working.seems to be electrical.water leaks from it into the drivers floorboard.

Truck @ 6 mo. Old when noticed water leaking into front driver's foot area. Dealer thought seal in driver's door caused-resealed. Leak cont. Dealer replaced seal. Leak cont. Dealer stated old water on floor, proceeded to vacuum up even though owner insisted leak not resolved. Leak con't. Owner contacted mitsu. Motors, complained, miracle!! leak found to be a/c hoses plugged. Fixed. One year later leak back in passenger's dash and on to floor!!brought to new dealer(56 miles from my home!) found same problem(a/c hose clogged)was told this is normal and that in hot weather hoses "meld together" and that i should have this checked periodically! never heard of such a thing! funny, the leak occurred in 75 degree weather this time around!!this is only the beginning of the story about this vehicle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! who knows what kind of damage to the dash/instrument panel occurred when the water was swooshing through the dash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. The contact was driving approximately 20 mph with the air conditioning unit activated when the contact noticed a large accumulation of water on the front driver's side floor board. The failure recurred whenever the air conditioning unit was in operation. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer eight times and on one occasion, an unknown repair was performed but the failure was not corrected. The vehicle was also taken to an independent mechanic four times but to no avail. There were no resolutions for the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The failure mileage was unavailable.

The contact owns a 2004mitsubishi endeavor. While driving approximately 25 mph with the air conditioner activated, the front driver side floor exhibited water leakage. There was an excessive accumulation of water while driving. The water damage resulted in a rapid growth of mold and mildew on the front driver side carpet area. A water vacuum was used for the removal of the water; however, the identical failure occurred on a separate occasion.an independent mechanic an authorized dealer were notified. The vehicle has not been repaired. The contact had concerns of the safety risk involved.the failure and current mileages were 62,000.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. The contact started the vehicle and the air conditioner blower failed. The dealer advised that the air conditioner connector would need to be replaced and possibly the blower and resistor. The part needed to make the repair was not available on site and would need to be ordered. The dealer made a temporary repair to the air conditioner but was concerned with the possibility of the part catching fire. The failure mileage was 77,885 and the current mileage was 77,900.updated 08/24/10. *ljupdated 08/25/10

Water from a/c leaks on the driver side floor. This will be the second time i am taking this to dealership for the same problem in eight months.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor.the vehicle has a leak, which according to the tsb, was caused by the air conditioning system.the contact has attempted to get it repaired, but was informed by the dealer that due to the labor involved, it would be cost prohibitive.several of her neighbors have experienced the same difficulty.the failure began on july 21, 2008.the current and failure mileages were 46,000.updated 09/10/08updated 09/19/08.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. The contact stated that the front interior driver side floorboard exhibited an accumulation of two gallons of water. The contact vacuumed the excessive water but water continued to enter the vehicle. The process was repeated three times. The dealer advised that the failure was a common issue in his year, make and model and was contributed to the air conditioner. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had concerns that the water could potentially cause a short in the wiring and lead to an electrical fire.the vin was not available. The failure mileage was 94,000.

This is a 3 month old car and purchased the suv new, and the driver side door locks and window switched stopped working. I took the car to the dealer under warranty repairs and the dealer wanted to charge $80 to look at the problem.so i end up fixing the problem myself in which i replaced a faulty switch.now my car's dome light does not work.also affected is the memory for the clock or radio.the remote keyless also stopped working.all of this happened at the same time.the car obviously has problems and the dealer wants to charge me just for looking at it.*la

The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was told the vehicle was fine and did not need to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. Approximately 1 week later, the check engine light began illuminating on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was told there was a hole within the fuel filler pipe. The vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer where the contact was told the fuel filler pipe was severely corroded but the hole was in the fuel tank, not the fuel filler pipe. The vehicle was repaired but not under the recall. The failure continued. The failure and current mileages were 134,429.

Letter from senator grassley on behalf of constituent re 2004 mitsubishi endeavor ls.the consumer stated the fuel filler neck and fuel regulator were leaking and had to be replaced. The consumer stated a recall was issued and requested reimbursement. However, mitsubishi stated the vehicle was not a part of the recall.

I received a safety recall on my 2004 mitsubishi endeavor, about the fuel filler pipe might become corroded from road salt in cold weather. That's fine about the recall but the problem i have is the dealership in lynchburg,va. Closed up and i was not made aware of this from anyone. Now the problem is they say i have to take it to blacksburg, charlottetsville or somewhere else, the problem with that is these places are one hour to two hours away from me and i want to know as a loyal customer who is going to pay for my gas and time to get this issue resolved. This is not good customer relations to close up shop and not let the consumer know what has happened and what to do in cases of a recall, that makes consumers highly upset and will not buy another mitsubishi again. I don't have the time or money to spend in gas to drive two hours away to get a recall taken care of. Seems like some place close to me could take care of it and they can bill the mitsubishi place. This putting the consumer out of the way. And what would the consumer do if it was something major that happened. This is so upsetting that i would like to take this to my local news and complain.

Fuel filler neck leaking gas and filler neck & clamp defective on a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor awd.the "service engine soon" light came on 08/27/2009 and the suv was immediately taken to thert 112 mitsubishi dealer in medford ny. The dealer checked & found code p0456 stored. Cleared code and charged $98.the light came on again few days after. Informed dealer about problem. Took the suv back to dealer on 09/22 and they did another test and found code p0442, small evap leak. Replaced gas cap for $48.57.took the suv to motorworld group in wilkes barre, pa for pa state inspection and it failed the safety inspection. The pa dealership said "fuel filler neck leaking gas and needs to be replaced." total cost $610($265 for parts & balance for 4 hours labor).the service advisor said that they experienced the same problem on the mitsubishi montero models. Apparently the manufacturer did not bother to correct this defect at the detriment of the buyers, paying hefty repair bills for their own profit.please investigate and contact us soon.

Mitsubishi endeavor 2004fuel tank fill-up hose (sill hose) has hole - causing fuel leak when filling up the gas tank. It also cause the service light to turn on due to the holes in fuel hose.dealer wants $600 for replacing the sill fuel hose. However, i feel it is not right, as its only 5 years old vehicle. I checked the part department to find out how much it cost to replace. The service tech told me that they have to order 6 more same parts for other customers for the same problem. It reminds me of ford pinto - which can be very explosive when rear-collision-ed.please advise, as i believe this kind of problem deserves a serious safety recall.

Fuel tank filler neck on 04 mitsubishi endeavor leaking.

The fuel filler tube on my 2004 mitsubishi endeavor rusted out resulting in fuel leaking out whenever i filled the tank. The fuel filler tube has a coverplate in pne section to protect it from being damaged. Wet dirt and debris collected in this coverplate due to normal driving, resulting in the fuel filler tube rusting out where it was covered with wet dirt and debris. The mitsubishi dealer repaired the rusted tube by totally replacing it at a cost of $850.00 that i had to pay. This part was approximately 5 years old when it had to be replaced. I have pictures of the rusted tube and coverplate that i can provide. This is a major safety and environmental exposure for endeavor owners and also an expensive repair for a part you would expect to last the lifetime of the vehicle.

After driving my 2004 mitsubishi endeavor over the past few years i had a gas leak that i thought was stranger while fueling my suv . It turned out to fall under the recall for my suv. I had this problem long before the recall was issued .lord only knows how much gas i lost at the pump that i will never get back... But i recently had a problem with my front rotors i had a mitsubishi dealer inspect my entire suv for any and everything else that could be wrong..just the other day i went to stop at a red signal and my suv did brake but only for a second it started to slide forward as i lost braking power in my front brakes i heard a big pop and a clank as i applied my brakes and halfway slid through the light after the light turned green i drove a ways down the road and was hearing the clank sound and it felt as if the front tires were trying to catch on something i thought it might have been the calibers or the brake pads. I pulled into the closest gas station to see what had happened . The pads were fine the tires were fine and everything looked ok no brakes fluid leakingthe calibers were fine... I slowly drove/coasted my suv to a friend's home going about five to ten miles an hour. I took off the driver side front tire to see if indeed it was the brake pads or calibers as i was taking off the tire i noticed that the rotor had split in half. Like separatingtwo plates at that point i called a licensed mechanicand he stated it sound like a defect in the rotors i've had these rotors on the suv since i've had it and it was checked out by a dealers service center before this had happened.i wondered since my suv had to go through the recall of the fuel filler for suv in the north for salt and snow that would corroded my fuel filler would it be the same for the rotors if they were to have a special kind of rotors for my suv used in the north during winter, i was told it was a good thing i hadn't been traveling at higher rate of speed it could have been worse.

The contact took the vehicle to a local mechanic who repaired the fuel tank because it was corroded. The contact smelled fuel inside the vehicle after the repair and the check engine light illuminated the next day. He took the vehicle back to the repair shop where he was informed that there was a leak in the filler pipe. 2004 mitsubishi endeavor pipe that leads from the place where you put in fuel to the fuel tank is made of metal and has rotted away. A hole has been found and when gas is put into the tank it leaks out all over the ground every time gas is put into the tank. It does this so severely, it almost doesn't make it into the tank and cannot fill up the entire tank. What has been done to correct the problem, is we ordered a new replacement hose (which is also metal so it will eventually rot out) and had it replaced. This is very expensive. This part should be recalled immediately! it is defective!

Had recall repaired (fuel injection pipe)@ pomoco hampton va. Immediately afterwards, engine light came on while driving 6 miles up the road. Five days later water started leaking on driver side only. Took vehicle back to dealer. They stated, a hose was missing on recall repair. I wondered why whenever i topped off gas @ the pump, fuel leaked from back tire area under vehicle. Fire hazard. They quoted 1500 to fix water leak. Got a it fix @ another auto repair. Six mths later, back to pomoco for yrly inspection, 2 days later, whenever i press brakes, make turns on city streets, highway, or in motioni feel something rolls under my feet but cant see it, must be underneath. A mth afterwards, everything is wet. All the floor boards, puddles. Cardboard, towels nothing will stop the water flow with ac functioning. I have 128,000 miles on the vehicle, bought in 2010 with 51,000 on it. Ever since the fuel pipe recall, that pomoco took 3 mths to complete because they didnt want to do the work which forced me to file complaint with the corporation, nhtsa, & one other, i've had water problems. This will be taken to a higher legal level due to this is & continues to cause harm, intentional or otherwise. We're advised here not to get personal but mold &mushrooms etc, should not exist in a vehicle. I see this has been an issue with lots of others and nothing done to date. Started in around oct 2015 (recall repair) & again may 2016.

Car would not start after pumping fuel in - took to mechanic; he said battery finefew days later, car would not start after pumping fuel in - took to mechanic; he said battery bad. I replaced battery.few days later, car would not start after pumping fuel in - took to mechanic; he said new battery fine.since car did not start 3 times in a row after pumping gas, and i needed a jump every time, i had mechanic do a diagnostic.he said the issue was tied to a recall bulletin. 10v065000 - filler pipe and cap. Called mitsubishi to fix it but they said my car does not qualify because i am state of california.i do a lot of my driving in snow so i feel mitsubishi should fix this for me.this is a potential fire hazard so i need to fix it asap (plus i don't want to get stuck at a gas station again needing a jump).i'd like mitsubishi to reimburse me for this expense because now i have to pay out of pocket.

I have talked to mitsubishi numerous times since august 2016. They keep passing the buck or case manager is on vacation.i've been using a hose and funnel to fuel my car because the fill tube has rusted out.this and 4 more recalls on this car puts me in a dangerous situation that mitsubishi is aware of.i am tired of getting the run around.

Fuel filler neck is defective causing code p0442. Car vin was never part of recall. I should get reimbursed for this repair.

This investigation was opened on december 30, 2009, based on five consumer reports alleging gasoline fuel leaking from the fuel fill pipe. Some of the complainants indicated the fuel fill pipe had corroded to the point of being perforated, allowing fuel to leak from the pipe.we had this fixed in concord, nh.now it needs to be fixed again.they say they do not fix it twice. I called last november and mitsubishi was no help at all.we have only 115, 000 miles on the car.

Backtailgate window switch and back tailgate door latch/switch/handlesof early 2004 mitsubishi endeavorsjust fail with no warning and neither can be opened with or without key fob. After some searching i noticed on the internet that this is a common problem.this makes it not possible to access the spare tire,or in case of accident the rescue persons cannot access the car from the back door or window. I understand this has been an ongoing problem with the early 2004 models.i had to pay close to $400 to repair this.

Latches do not work for hatch.cannot open hatch.

I have had to replace 2 door handles in a year due to them breaking off in your hand with routine use, these are cheap plastic handles with no apparent metal reinforcement. I have owned many vehicles and never had door handles just snap off like this. I am currently contacting the dealer for a 3rd replacement handle. This is a serious safety issue since in an emergency if the handles break then there is no access to the vehicle for rescue other then breaking windows.updated 02/22/07.

Incident:i own a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor.about 2 months ago, the door handle/pull on the outside front passenger door broke during routine use.as it turns out, the handle is made of plastic. My dealer claims there is a back order for replacement handles, implying this is a widespread problemthere are no saftey issues, simply inconvenience issues.in all my years of owning cars, this has never happened to me.

I parked my 2004 endeavor in the garage like i do every day when i return home.i put the car in park and removed the ignition key.i took some groceries from the passenger seat, closed the passenger door and went inside.i came out a few minutes later to retrieve the rest of my groceries but the car was missing!i looked out the garage door (which was open) and saw my car crashed into the side of our neighbor's house across the street.when i approached the car i noted that the gear was in reverse!the back end of the endeavor was demolished.the neighbor's house was damaged along with the mailbox and pole and garden lights that the car ran over.

No information on recall given to me at all.found out about the recall because i am having a problem with my parking brakes not holding and was searching for parts on the internet.car was bought in miami and shipped to vi, but no one at mitsubishi can tell me if there is a dealer here and what options i have with getting the problem fixed if there is no dealer.i would at least like to know what parts i may need to get it fixed by an independent mechanic

While driving the transmission started to slip out of gear from drive to netural to drive while both lights are showing the car is in that gear . While trying to accelerate the car brakes engaged and the went back into drive ,and i had to drive hiw at a very low speed to make it home.

When in driving the truck will shake vibrates when i press on the gas pedal.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. While operating the vehicle, the neutral and drive indicators illuminated on the instrument panel at the same time. After turning the engine off and back on, the vehicle would not drive forward or in reverse. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer (mitsubishi/hyundai in brandon, fl), but the cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was not notified. The vin was invalid. The failure mileage was 170,000.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. The contact stated that the gear shift would lock in the park position but the indicator would show that it was in the reverse gear. The vehicle also rolled backward when not locked properly in park. The key could also be removed from the ignition. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that a cable in the shift column needed to be replaced. The contact was also informed that the vehicle was not included in recall 05v069000 (parking brake). The manufacturer had not been notified. The failure mileage was 99,437.

Transmission -- a high pitch whining noise verified by dealer as coming from the transmission. Mitsubishi customer relations adjudication, direct from management, is that the "noise is normal". This is a blatant insult to my intelligence.

Propeller shaft recall had my vehicle n 3 times due to this defect now mitsubishi is refusing to fix this obvious defective part.

The consumer had to take the vehicle into the dealer because none of the windows would roll down, and the doors would not lock or unlock from the driver side remote button. A whining noise was heard in the transmission.windshield wiper blades would not turn off.warning light in the dash continues to come on.*tc

I am the original owner of a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor with a few complains.rear window regulator came apart, rear third brake light cracked in half while sitting in the sun, and now it is sitting at the dealership with transmission problem.at 20 mph the vehicle starts shaking the front end like a bad tire.i replace the tires and the cv shafts with no relieve.took it to the dealer and no fighting with them.they want to charge me to flush the fluid before the do any warranty work.because i don't have maintenance records they are not wanting to help even though i have a 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty.i am in a rental waiting another day for a mitsubishi rep to call.did i mention i am a ase master tech.

I own a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor and the only owner.on friday, 06/10/06 the car broke, i put it in driving and the truck went(2 times) reversed . I almost hit a car behind me. Icalled mitsubishi dealer , and that is when the night mare started.it took over 15 phone calls to get my truck towing to the dealer.they request maintenance records and still are refusing to fixed my car.my car has 62,600 miles under the extended warranty is cover the power train up to 100,000 miles.today is being 9 days since the incident. I also have an extended warranty, that will not pay for the repairs since is supposed to be cover by mitsubishi.the dealer, crown mitsubishi in st petersburg, florida is refusing to tell me who is the contact person in mitsubishi who supposed to approve my repairs.my car is only 2 1/2 years old.i had records of continues maintenance 17 of them.they are giving me the run around since, this started.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. While having the tires rotated an independent mechanic advised the contact that the screws on the axle were rusting. The front drivers side axle screwwas replaced. The manufacturer was notified and informed him that this was due to normal wear and tear on the vehicle. The failure mileage was 140,000 and the current mileage was 157,824.

High pitched whine at >50 mph (and car is warmed up).

After 64,000 miles dealer says transfer case is no good.

My wheels locked up due to a defective transfer case nearly causing an accident. Mitsubishi refuses to take blame.

The contact owned a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. The contact stated that while stopped at an intersection, a heavy truck crashed into the front passenger side of the vehicle. The air bags did not deploy and the seat belt did not hold the contact in place. The manufacturer was notified and advised her to contact the insurance company. The failure mileage was 104,073.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle independently accelerated to 85 mph without warning. The brake pedal was depressed, but failed to respond. The contact shifted the vehicle into the neutral position and it stopped abruptly. As a result of the stop, the vehicle went into an embankment, flipped down a hill, and landed in another embankment. As the vehicle flipped, the dash panel detached and struck the contact. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage and vin were unavailable.

Brake light came on & front pads had to be replaced & rotors were turned @ 21k on my 2004 mitzubishi endeavor in 11/06.then found out in 6/09 when the brakes were failing on me @ 47k miles a design flaw caused the pins to collect moisture & froze up & therefore caused the calipers to freeze up ruining the rotors & the pads.since the rotors were turned @ 21k, the rotors needed replaced costing me over $1000.we also had water coming out of the blower motor causing it to fail.

Replacing front and back pads every 5k - 8k miles. Replaced front and back rotors twice in 100k. Replacing front and back calipers one in 100k. Replacing calipers pins both front and back every time pads were replaced. Turns out because of poor engineering and design the calipers pins collect moisture and corrode causing them to freeze up and not allowing calipers to perform properly, in turn the calipers are restricted , ruining the rotors and eat up the pads.

We owna 2004 mitsubishi endeavor with90,000 mile s on .the problem weare having is brake related and as occurred6-7 times the last 5-6 months -its doesn't occurall the time its intermittent andonly after car sitsfor a period of time usually over nite. The problem is thewhen thebrakesarefirst appliedthere's a slow response timefor themto work and the pedal has tobe depressedvery hard orpumped . We first noticed thisafter thanksgiving of lastyear the problem repeatedtill in marchwhen ihad a local auto service shop look at the problem (ase master certified ) - he couldn'tfind a problem but machinefontrotorsthinking thatmight be the problem - a fewweeks laterthe problem occurred again . Thats wheni contactedthe local mitsubishi dealerand explained the problemto himexplained ithi in delai - he said it mightbebrake padsand replaced them - howevershortly there afterthe problem happened againandmy wifejust missing rear ending the truck in front ofher. I again called the mitsubishi dealer- explainedthingsagainto them - this wasafter i contactedthe corp. Mitsubitsui endeavor 2004 ..my front brakes drag when i stop in rain or water.the brakes seem to hold but it drags..

I had replaced the water pumps getting ready to replace it again and when it went out the power steering messed up i'm also having issues with the timing belt it was replaced at 112,000 miles and it was inspected at 121,000 and was okay but it snapped on me the other day the highway replacing it for the second time now at 188,000+ miles not even 100,000 miles later from the first time. This isn't cheap also my heater core went again.

I bought it like this and don't really know

The h-vac system does not work. When air conditioning is used water seeps into the floorboard and completely soaks the floor and mat, which creates a very rank odor. To correct this problem it will cost the consumer approximately $800.00.this is clearly an engineer defect/flaw.we were told by an mitsubishi service rep that the following year (2005) it was corrected.obviously mitsubishi was aware of this problem.why wasn't a recall done on this problem?i think it certainly warrants one.how many other people have been affected by this? why should the consumer assume costs for something that was not made correctly?i am baffled, as to why a car corporation would not take care of their customers?

My 2004 mitsubishi endeavor has some sort of leak right behind the dashboard similar to the one on complaint #10204166. My fan blower motor was replaced due to water damage and more water keeps coming down from behind the dash. Mitsubishi in the bronx wants to charge me a large amount for a repair that is a manufacturer defect. Can someone help me with this issue.

The roof rack has very flimsy paint and has been peeling for years.i contacted the dealership and was told it was not covered.i commute on the freeway and 90% of the endeavors i see have paint peeling off their roof rack. I have kept this car in the garage for the last 8 out of 10 years.it has been protected from the elements and isn't driven much and still the roof rack looks awful! if i were looking to buy a new car and saw this, i certainly would not want a car with a paint problem.

While driving with the windows rolled down at 40 mph the wind causes discomfort to ears and head. *mr the right rear window created a loud thump and or vibrating noise. *scc

Noticed i have water on drivers side floor from ac. Water pools and saturates the floor. Feet can get wet and slip off of brake or gas pedal. Also concern of mold growing in interior. Online search finds this is a common problem with this vehicle and no recall has been issued.

Water is leaking in drivers side due to air con drain i had an accident due to slippery shoes.

Constant water leak onto mainly the driver's side floor board.it has also happened on the passenger side.i am vacuuming out over 1/2 gallon of water every couple of days during the summer.i'm guessing this could lead to mold and/or mildew buildup and corrosion to the floorboard.with all i've been reading online, this is a known mitsubishi problem, but apparently they aren't willing to fix the problem.i also have issues with the air conditioner just blowing hot air after extended periods of time.

2004 endeavor, driver side leak- water found under the brake and gas pedal when air conditioning in running.the entire driver side mat is soaked with water. Leaving the pedals slippery and causing a mildew smell in the vehicle.the slippery pedals are unsafe enough, now i am worried about the mildew growth in my vehicle.

Water leaking behind dash.has anyone had any success in repairs for this problem.thankyou.

Dear sir/madam,i have a black 2004 mitsubishi endeavor which has serious paint issues on the hood and the top of the car.the paint isdeteriorating rapidly on surfaces that are most exposed to sunlight. The paint has premature aging and turns a white color. The car looks like 10 years old. Tried to solve the problem with the service managers but they are telling that my warranty is not covered this problem. According to the research that i made on the internet, there are hundreds of mitsubishi owners that have the same problems with mitsibushi endeavor. Also, it looks likeit is a standing policy at mitsubishi motors to intentionally thin the clear-coat on their automobiles in an attempt to save money up front. I hope you can help us to solve this. Thank you.

My 2004 mitsubishi endeavor has some sort of problem that seems to be the same to many others. The floorboards are soaking wet and are causing our feet to slip when pressing on the brake and gas pedals. The carpet is constantly covered in mold because of all the moisture and the smell is misty and sometimes unbearable. My entire family suffers from severe allergies and the mold just makes them worse. I also have a newborn and the air in the car is just horrible to breathe. My windows also are full with condensation in the mornings and it is sometimes impossible to remove all the water from my windows which causes some trouble while i'm driving. I have not fixed the problem because there is not a dealership near by and i also do not have the funds to pay for someone to fix it.

We noticed a lot of water on the drivers side floorboard after receiving the car back from receiving hail damage repair. We contacted the auto repairman assuming that the water was associated with the repair. We were told that it was not that the mitsubishi endeavor has a design defect with the heater core and ac drainage.a second mechanical opinion confirmed this.we vacuumed the car using a shop vac and documented 4 inches of water removed from the car on two seperate vacuuming sessions. A member of the family is allergic to mold and has found the resulting mold to be a health hazard. This is the only mode of transportation for the family and the quoted cost of repairs is in a range of $400-$900. The wet floor presents a potential for physical harm as it is extremely wet.

2004 endeavor, driver side compartment filled with water.water leaking into car from behind gas pedal area making driving hazardous with wet slippery gas and brake pedals.when no compressor is run there is no water, but you cannot get rid of humidity and internal window fogging without running the ac/defrost function which puts more water on the floor.mold is growing across the floorboard of the vehicle from repeated water leak.dealer advised faulty washer at hose drain connection, requiring entire dash be removed. $1000 repair for a $1.50 defective washer in dash.alternate repair recommendations online require a new hole be drilled in firewall to replace washer from backside.

Driver side floor stays sopping wet. I am assuming this is from the ac drain hose. Mechanics want $700-1000 to attempt to fix the problem, but say there are no guarantees as this has been an ongoing defect with the 2004 endeavor. This raises several safety issues with main one being that feet are wet and slippery and likely to cause being unable to brake as needed due to foot slipping off pedal. Other safety concerns are in regards to the mold due to being unable to keep it dry. Please recall this and have it fixed as it should be. The consumer should not have to absorb this cost when it is a defect that should not have occurred.

There is water on the driver side floor underneath the carpet. The ac has not been on and still we had water on the driver side when it rained alittle last night. I see alot of complaints regarding this issue and there seems to be a poor design.

The drivers side floorboard is always wet. The dealer indicated it will cost $365 to fix. Seems that internet forums indicate this is a design issue and not simply a plugged air conditioning drain line.

Serious safety issue that will result in slippery floor carpeting, brake, and acceleration pedals due to design flaw. Water from a/c unit entering driver side drivers floor area. Wetting floor panel and carpeting. Possibly a grommet it seems to be a common problem in many endeavors .

I noticed that the floor on the driver side of my mitsubishi endeavor 2004, bought in the same year, was soaking wet and couldn't understand why since it was not raining. My son noticed that the floor gets soaking wet whenever he or i use the car. I suspect that it might be the aircon leaking but didn't bring it to the mechanic because i was scared of the expense which i cannot afford now that we're on fixed income. Since june 2013, however, the leaking has noticeably increased, and my son used thick bath towels to dry the floor, but i noticed that the towels get soggy with whatever is leaking, but even a couple of thick bath towels not enough to dry the floor. Being concerned about it because it's starting to smell mildew inside my car, i told him to vacuum it, but it still remains wet and stinky that i'm scared for my health and that of my son as he has developed severe allergy, and i'd been sickly also, but i credit mine to old age, but cannot understand his since he didn't have it before. Being very concerned about the problem i decided to go online and found that many others are experiencing the same problem and health concerns. I cannot understand why mitsubishi hasn't addressed the issue with a recall, or the vehicle owners not instituted a class action suit, which i will join since it's a vehicle defect that mitsubishi corporation admits exists, yet has not issued a recall even though it's a critical safety and health issue affecting consumers.

I noticed that the floor on the driver side of my mitsubishi endeavor 2004 was soaking wet and couldn't understand why since it was not raining. I noticed that the floor gets soaking wet whenever i use the car. I suspect that it might be the air conditioning leaking and it is. It get soaking wet and now i'm getting sick from the mildew. This has been going on for over 2yrs now. I cannot afford to get it fixed.this should of been a recall, i see loads of 2004 had this problem but it was corrected in 2005 endeavors.

Water is leaking onto the driverside front floor everytime the air conditioning runs. Mold is growing and the odor is horrible. I must have read at least 300 complaints of this online by other owners of a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor, and it is without a question, a design flaw and mitsubishi will not admitt to this. Rather, they are asking for more than $1200 to fix it. This problem is more than a major inconvenience, it is a health hazard allowing people to inhale mold while driving, not mentioning the other problems that the water is probably causing, such as rust, and potential electrical problems.mitsubishi should be forced to fix this free of charge, since literally hundreds of endeavor owners are reporting the very same problem with water on their driver-side floors.please contact me at [xxx]if anyone has this problem, as well as how we might be able to all get together to force mitsubishi to take action.thank you.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Ltr fm james g. Shciller (ny) re an investigation of his 2004 mitsubishi endeavor.opening the rear right window created a loud thumping/vibrating noise when driving above 40 mph.respond directly to the constituent & copy to senator's ny, ny ofc. *phthe noise/vibration was so severe when the rear window was opened, that it caused pain to the occupant ears and head, therefore the rear window had to be closed immediately.the vehicle was taken tot he dealer but they were unable to correct the problem.

I have owned my 04 endeavor unlimited when it came out, drove it off the lot.i continue to own it to present date 09/09. I noticed the paint job at the top ofvehicle and lg areas on the hood as well as areas at top of the brake light at rear of car are wearing down to the primer. I feel the paint job was not done properly and feel mitsubishi should be held responsible for repainting. It was declined saying it exceeded the mileage specification. 3yrs or 36,000 miles would warrant a new paint job. What happened to bumper to bumper warranty which is what was understood at the time of purchase?

My 2004 endeavor has had water leaking on driver's side front floor. Based on the volume of complaints in this forum and others, i would suggest that this is an issue that should be recalled and covered as a manufacturer defect. If it is not recalled, perhaps a class action lawsuit is in order.

I discovered the floor all wet on the driver side while i was driving.it has been wet for the past 1.5 months and since it's been getting hot i think it has to do with ac drainage issue.this is a big concern because this can cause my shoe to be wet and slip when i try to brake.

Due to design flaw.water from a/c unit entering driver side passenger area. Wetting floor panel and carpeting. Dealer charged $830.00 to fixproblem. Part replaced was a grommet ($3.28) total amount including tax $918. It seems to be a common problem in many endeavors .

2004 mitsubishi endeavor 4x4, at the time i reported the rusting problem i had under 20,000 miles on my vehicle.it has heavy rust under the back seats, on the hinges that operate the seats, the coil construction of the seat, the area where the jack is stored and the jack itself.i notified the company and there response was that this was normal.i can find no one else who agrees with this statement.i have pictures available and would like help in this matter.my daughter and i both have allergies and if there is that much moisture in this vehicle i am afraid that there may also be unseen mold that could be harmful as well.i feel i have tried to resolve this nicely, but they are not willing to do anything about it.

For sometime i have notice that my mat on the driver side is always wet.i'm afraid that the floor is going to give out.also, my latch on the back just stop working.

Drivers side has wet floor mats, as ac is backed up causing mildew and an unpleasant odor.the whole floor is wet, stretching back to the passengers side.dealer says they will drill a hole and blow out ac, but not guarantee a permanent fix.this is unsafe because the stepping on wet floor mats make the break and gas pedals wet.

My 2004 mitsubishi endeavor has some sort of problem that seems to be the same as others. The floorboards are soaking wet and are causing our feet to slip when pressing on the brake and gas pedals. The carpet is constantly covered in mold because of all the moisture and the smell is misty and sometimes unbearable. Have a young child with asthma and allergies and a newborn.i have not fixed the problem because there is a dealership, but wants to charge $1,000 to fix a design flaw.mitsubishi motors has a technical service bulletin (tsb-09-55-002) to fix the problem by drilling into where the water accumulates and install a secondary drain.

1.) the driver's side floor in both the front and back are soaking wet. The water is coming from inside the car. My research indicates this is caused by the air conditioner leaking into the car due to a blockage.2.) i am having to replace another plastic door handle which has come off within the past three months. These plastic handles are cheap and create a danger as ingress into the car is hampered. Door handles should be metal and should not be able to come off!

A/c drains to the interior drivers side floor board creating a sever safety hazard, also rusts out the fan blower.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. While parked, the contact noticed that the front drivers side floor mat was moist. The contact also stated that when it rained, water entered the vehicle and moisture accumulated on all of the floor mats and floor boards. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostics. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

Like many, many reports the drivers side floor mat is saturated and pooled with water from the ac/hvac system drainage failure. The manufacture has tsb's on on the issue with foam gasket replacement or initially drilling a hole cleaning it out and installing a rubber plugtsb-08-55-007. Now installation of a hose used for radiator overflow on an eclipse now being suggested no: tsb-11-55-003. How is this not a design flaw and how is the mold and moisture issue not a safety concern. The internal cab parts are not coated or treated to inhibit rust from this excessive moisture. The excessive moisture inside the vehicle also accumulates on the inside windshield of the vehicle as it removed thru the system but re-enters thru the firewall into the floor.

The paint on my mitsubishi endeavor 04, has all this oxidation going on on the roof and the window panels. I investigated this after taking my car back to dennis mitsubishi and having them tell me they will paint the spots that are bad but not my whole car. I found out that there are thousands of people with mitsubishi's that are having the exact same problem and the corporate office is just ignoring the problem that they know is the car makers error. They used bad paint coating on all the vehicles and they will not come out and admit that they are wrong.it is so awful to treat their customers this way and i can not believe they are allowed to just get away with it. Something should be done, they should have to recall these cars. I am not the only one sitting around shaking my head at this. If anyone types in mitsubishi paint in there search engine you will see the number of incidents on many different web sites. This is just so wrong.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 55 mph, the passenger side rear wheel began to make contact with the frame of the vehicle. The contact discovered that the sub frame had rusted near the rear passenger side wheel causing the a-arm to separate and the wheel to lean inward. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 170,000.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. The contact stated that when it rained, water would penetrate the vehicle and saturate the driver's side floorboard area.the dealer replaced the windshield and the dash board was removed and inspected, however the failure was not corrected. The dealer advised the contact that there could have been a defective firewall and insulation that caused the water to penetrate. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 90,000 and the current mileage was 145,000.

Rolling down the rear windows causes an air vibration that is so loud and pulsing that it hurts your ears.opening all the windows helps a little, but is still unacceptable.opening just the rear windows is extremely painful.this problem has been noted by many mitsubishi endeavor owners.this is not the type of issue that can be identified, prior to purchasing the vehicle, when one buys the vehicle in the winter.why would you ever roll the rear windows down?it is expected that you should be able to do so, without serious discomfort.

I was going to open a door for my child when the rear passenger door handle just snapped off. Extremely scary. What if it was an emergency situation.

This problem is not related to the age of vehicle, nor is it owner-created.it is a manufacturer design flaw.driver-side front floor stays soaking wet.shoes get wet and slippery which is dangerous while pressing on gas and brake pedals (driving hazard).mold continues to grow even after cleaned (health hazard).told that the problem is a failed grommet from the evaporator core drain.no recall has been issued ($700 repair estimate to replace grommet).due to health and safety hazards, a recall should be issued for this manufacturer flaw/faulty material!

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor, the contact stated that as he started the vehicle, there was a moldy smell and he noticed that the driver's side floorboard was completely soaked with water. The water was coming from under the floorboard from the a/c unit due to improper drainage. The dealer was notified who advised the contact that they would have to pull the ac unit away from the firewall and replace a failed seal between the firewall and the a/c box. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 147,000.

Paint delaminates from vehicle surface. Exterior paint starts to degrade then delaminates from the vehicle's surface until eventually the entire vehicle is exposed to the metal. This occurred in less than 2 years and continued throughout my ownership of the vehicle, which was a lease that i was charged for the damage. This is clearly problem. After a short internet search, thousands of exact complaints can be found.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor.the contact stated the outside door handles were broken on each door.the contact replaced all four door handles and the replacement plactic handles have also broken due to the heat.the failure mileage was 122,000.

The clear coat on the vehicle is coming off, have noticed the problem for the last couple of years and now every month goes by it is getting worse.

I am the first owner of a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. It is black in color. The paint is fading terribly and turning white. This is happening all over the hood and roof of the vehicle. I have discovered on the internet that this is a recurring and common complaint about these black colored mitsubishi vehicles. It has something to do with the clear-coat and the paint being defective.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, she attempted to apply the brakes and her foot slid off of the pedal due to her foot being wet. She then noticed that the entire floorboard was wet. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the drain system from the sun roof could have been the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileage was 115,000.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. While the vehicle was parked the contact noticed water leaking under the front drivers side mat. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.

Normal daily use of vehicle, went to open front driver door and handle broke off.

My back hatch will not open from the outside!! have to go threw the back seat to open it!!!!

When the consumer closed the glass liftgate the glass shattered onto her hands. A piece of glass was propelled into the mouth of a person standing nearby.

2004 mitsubishi endeavor - manufacturer used plastic covers on the underside of the car to protect engine.i believe it is a poor design, that has broken on my car, and with any type of road debris will continue to break.while this may not be a safety item, a safer method with be some type of light metal panel.*la

There was a rubbing sound coming from the right front of the truck when turning and the a/c failed intermittently while driving.the evaporator housing was removed and the debris and water was cleaned from the housing and blower motor.(trash filtered through the air condition vent system) *sc

I bought it like this and don't really know

When in driving the truck will shake vibrates when i press on the gas pedal.

Broken rear control arms on a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor caused extreme fishtailing on even slight snowfall and poor suspension when making turns and going over bumps my mechanic said that he has seen this often on mitsubishi endeavors just wondered if this is something that i will have to replace often not sure why they broke.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor.while driving approximately 30 mph, the contact heard a loud noise coming from underneath the vehicle.the noise intensified when driving in reverse or making a turn.also, the contact felt a vibration from the steering wheel.the failures occurred without warning.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they stated that the failures were related to the rear end spindle bushings.as a result, the rear tires became worn.the vehicle will be repaired for the failures.the failure mileage was 65,000 and current mileage was 73,000.updated 10/03/08 updated 10/07/08.

Water leaking in the car from under the dash. I understand this is common for this vehicle....if this is a manufacture error why should they be required to correct it.

I bought it like this and don't really know

Standing water on driver side floor.hvac drain plug is clogged and now warning lights for many different items are appearing on dash display and this is caused by water running through. I do not know of many auto makers that put drain plug under dash board. This could very well turn into an electrical and or fire hazard. Contacted dealer and was told this was the first they have heard of this. There are many many many complaints online so they do know about the problem.

My key is stuck in the ignition. We were on vacation and on sat may 23,2020 when we got back to our hotel the key wouldn't release to come out of ignition

I noticed water dropping from under the drivers dashboard occasionally and thought it was condensation/sweating in july 2010. This year on vacation i noticed the carpet was full of water on the drivers side including the rear floorboard with mildew growing every where. This is my wife's vehicle , so i don't drive it very often. She had bronchitis for two and a half months this spring that could not be explained that three different kinds of antibiotics, steroids, and anebulizer machine couldn't make her better. Now i know what caused her prolonged illness, driving her car every day with mildew under the floor mats and in the air. My whole family has either allergies, asthma or both. After we returned from vacation i googled for a answer to find where the condensation tube was located to clear it and possibly stop it from leaking inside.much to my surprise the internet search resulted with a bevy of complaints about the very same problem ! i read forums, articles, and complaints with the end result that mitsubishi was charging $1000.00 to fix. Since then they issued a service bulletin on how to repair the problem with out taking the whole a/c unit out. There is a tsb report # 09-55-002 on the problem with the findings that insulation used in the housing falls apart and clogs the drain inside the housing.the design of the a/c condenser inside the vehicle is asking for leaks and problems. I can't expose my family to mold and mildew every time the a/c is used. The water in the carpet smells very bad and will rust the floorboards and the frame of the truck! this makes the problem two fold. The rust is a safety issue and the mold is a severe health issue for people especially with respiratory problems. I am very upset and will be contacting themitsubishi regional service rep. For the washington d.c. Area. Please recall! many more can't or won't complain! thank you.....

2004 mitsubishi endevor's paint is deteriorating. *njafter about 3 years of owning the vehicle, the clear coat over the paint started to deteriorate on several parts of the vehicle.the consumer contacted mitsubishi and was informed they were aware of the problem and they would take care of it. The consumer asked them to re-paint the entire vehicle, but they refused and only painted the areas that were damaged. A year later, more parts of the paint started to deteriorate, and again they refused to paint the entire vehicle.

The out standing recall i had completed 03/15/2011 at dealer no 15102 ..i called mitsubishi inc in california to fix and remove this recall from their data which it reflects exactly on your data they informed me that there are no recalls on my vehicle outstanding and it's been a week since i reported it to them. I need them to remove it immediately early monday and email me at [xxx] or call me at [xxx] attached is a proof the recall completion top second pageinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

New information regarding 2004 mitsubishi endeavor accident.*mrthe vehicle was in neutral and the driver gave to vehicle a little gas.when the gear selector was moved to drive the vehicle suddenly accelerated.

When switching from neutral into drive the vehicle accelerated at 80 mph.even when applying the brakes, the vehicle continued to surge. When the vehicle was placed in drive, the accelerator stuck and the vehicle lurched forward, exited the car wash, crossed a highway, hit a curb, grazed a telephone pole, proceeded into the jiffy lube into a grassy area and went back onto the highway, and turned 180 degrees and finally the vehicle turned into a 180 degree angle.the only way the vehicle was able to be stopped was by turning off the ignition. *sc

While driving with the windows rolled down at 40 mph the wind causes discomfort to ears and head. *mr the right rear window created a loud thump and or vibrating noise. *scc

The window regulators on both passenger front and rear and driver front and rear windows failed to work, the windows fell down while driving and i have to use zip ties to hold the windows up.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. The contact stated that the front and rear passenger side window regulators failed upon activation. The malfunction caused the window glass to release down into the door panel. The failure recurred on separate occasions. The vehicle was taken to an auto glass specialty shop each time for the window regulator replacement. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 97,000.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. After the air conditioner was activated, the front driver and passenger side floorboards became moist. In addition, there was a burning odor and an abnormal noise coming from the air vent. The contact also stated that the blower motor for the air conditioner became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the drainage tube for the air conditioner unit was clogged and needed to be unclogged. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 114,000.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. The contactstated that whenever she attempted to make a left or right turn, she heard and saw water leaking into the vehicle from the glove compartment. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the blower motor was replaced. The failure recurred three times over a two year period. The vehicle was taken back to the previous mechanic where the blower was replaced a second time. The vin was unavailable. The failure and current mileages were unknown. Updated 09/29/2010.*lj

I own a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. The blower went out about 2 years ago. I had the blower motor replaced ($400.00) in january 2010 by expert tire (no mitsubishi dealer nearby). About 5 months later, the fan stopped blowing again intermittently. I would have to turn the a/c completely off for a day and then it would start working again. Also, it is leaking into the driver side floorboard. Now, i have a musty smell anytime i get in the car. The a/c appears to be working fine now, but anytime i drive in the car for a couple of hours, it stops working again. I've called mitsubishi and reported this several times over the last few years, but cannot get any help. They just tell me to bring it in to the service department. I don't live near a mitsubishi dealer, they don't offer a rental car, and i really don't have another $400.00 or more to spend on this problem. From what i've read online, there are alot of other endeavor owners who have this problem. Mitsubishi needs to take a look at this problem and do a recall. If this many people are having the problem, it's not a fluke accident.

There was a rubbing sound coming from the right front of the truck when turning and the a/c failed intermittently while driving.the evaporator housing was removed and the debris and water was cleaned from the housing and blower motor.(trash filtered through the air condition vent system) *sc

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor.the contact stated that the rear window on the hatchback exploded without cause or warning.as of january 2, 2008, the dealer had not inspected the vehicle.the current and failure mileages were 73,000. Updated 01-29-08.

The contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor.the contact stated that the cable regulators in the passenger side rear and driver side rear window failed several times.the window would no longer go up or down in the vehicle.eventually, it would drop down.she took the vehicle to the dealer five times, but the failure was never corrected.the current mileage was 41,099 and failure mileage was 15,619.updated 08/13/08the dealer stated the window regulator came apart. Updated 08/13/08

The window regulators on both passenger front and rear and driver front and rear windows failed to work, the windows fell down while driving and i have to use zip ties to hold the windows up.

The car is a month old. I was driving and heard a loud crash, the back window just crashed. I did contact the police, their was nothing that would have caused this to happen.i thank god no one was hurt and it was the back and not the front.

The consumer had to take the vehicle into the dealer because none of the windows would roll down, and the doors would not lock or unlock from the driver side remote button. A whining noise was heard in the transmission.windshield wiper blades would not turn off.warning light in the dash continues to come on.*tc

The rear wiper motor on my 04 endeavor stopped working in sept of 2006. I was out of warranty so it was going to cost $321.00 to replace it. I didn't have the $ and since it is not a must have i did not have it fixed. On june 30th 2007 it all of a sudden started smoking. I was the worst smell and was filling up the inside of the car. I am pregnant and my 2 year old daughter was in the back seat. I called the dealership and they said that since i am out of warrenty there was nothing they could do. They would certainly fix it for me at $321.00 if i chose to do so. I dont feel that even outside of the warranty, that anything should be smoking on your car. The dealer did admit that the fuse should have blown and it never should have happened.

I bought it like this and don't really know
