The leather on the dashboard is lifting which will cause a problem if the airbag is deployed. It will not fit back into the lip of the dashboard which sticks up and is going to cause a problem when the airbag is deployed i haveasked mitsubishi to fix it as it should be a recall and they refused.

Dash pad in vehicle has come apart, completely blocking passenger side airbag. The dash pad is sticking up at least 3 inches in front of airbag. If airbag does deploy ever it will not properly and could cause more harm to passenger and driver. When this first happened my car was only 4 years old. There are several reports online of this happening to these vehicles. I think all affected cars should be fixed, since it is a safety issue on pretty new cars.

The contact owns a 2009 mitsubishi eclipse. The contact stated that while driving at 20 mph and going down hill with acceleration, the brake pedal failed to respond. As a result, the front driver side air bag failed to deploy. The contact crashed into a concrete base. The impact caused the rear of the driver seat to detach the over head light and the console fractured. The contact sustained bruises to the right side of her body head, back shoulder, hip and knees that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v337000 (service brakes, hydraulic) and stated that the part needed for the repair was not available. The airbag on the passenger side won't deploy if its in a accident. The dash pad on the passenger airbag side is elevated and out of its position by around 2-3 inches with the passenger airbag sign on.surprised to see similar issue by other customers as well here. Looks like is a common complaint and need to be fixed by mitsubishi. God forbid if there is any incident........updated 12/16/15updated 10/06/2017

There has been no incident yet. However if this vehicle gets in an accident the passenger airbag will absolutely not deploy correctly. The dash pad in front of the air bag has come unglued and is blocking the deployment of the airbag if it were to deploy. This dash pad is sticking up 4 inches in front of right dash airbag. These should be replaced on all affected units. I have seen other brands dash pads lift around defrost holes, especially gm in the 90s,this is the first i have seen where if the pad starts lifting it will block the airbag. This is not an uncommon problem with padded dashes ( essentially a poly foam glued to plastic with a vinyl overlay glued to it) when the foam starts to deteriorate it turns to powder and comes loose/lifts.

The lady crossed two lanes of traffic and ran a red light and hit my car on drivers side front including the door. Door won't open and airbags didn't deploy. The car was towed cause it couldn't start and wasn't drivable. Seat belts didn't lock so the people in my car hit steering, dashboard and back of the seats. My car was hit in the front in dec. 5, 2013 and same thing happened. Airbags didn't deploy and seatbelts didn't lock. From the accident before i made a complaint with mitsubishi and they done nothing. Thanks for your time.

Dash above the passenger side air bag is raised at least 3-5 inches.not in the groove where it should be.would think this is a safety hazard as an airbag will not deploy properly if in an accident.mitsubishi needs to repair this for customers.

Another driver was traveling west and was attempting to turn left. I was traveling east when the other car turned from a direct line and hit the front of my car. My car is equipped with driver and passenger airbags, side airbags, and side head curtain airbags. At the moment of impact my airbags didn't deploy.

On may 22, 2015 mitsubishi filed a recall (mitsubishi campaign# sr-15-004/nhtsa recall # 15v337) for the abs hydraulic unit of which my vehicle is affected. Aside from one letter i received late july informing me of the recall, i have not heard again from them regarding this matter. Calling local dealerships has resulted in responses of the parts required for the repair are not yet available. Even checking the recall status on mitsubishi's website shows that the repair is still not yet available. It has been almost eight months since the recall was filed for a serious danger and there is no end in sight. It is ridiculous to have a major issue with the brakes and no know if or when it may get fixed. Mitsubishi has acknowledged that this is a problem, but their actions are showing that they could care less. No one i have spoken to at mitsubishi motors of north america has any idea when parts may become available and their only response is to go to the dealer and pay to have the parts replaced and then file for a reimbursement claim under the recall which may not even be approved. If i can do that, why am i unable to have my vehicle serviced with the same parts under the recall? i understand needing time to source new parts that incorporate the new design, but mitsubishi has far exceeded a reasonable timeline which is negligent and causing unnecessary risk.

Driving in a residential area and hit my brakes to avoid a car stopping abruptly. My brakes went soft and i had to swerve to avoid slamming into the back of the vehicle. My brakes remained very soft with little to no braking power for at least a day. This is the second occurrence in a month. The brakes when pressed were very soft and whistled when i lifted my foot.
