Me and my wife where recently in a car accident our rolled into a ditch and the airbags on the drivers side and the passengers side did not deploy..i felt like our lives where in danger because of this malfunction.
The contact owns a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse. While driving at approximately 30 mph attempting to avoid impacting a dog, the contact swerved to the left and depressed the brake pedal but the brakes failed to engage. As a result, the contact crashed into three trees. The driver and front passenger side air bags did not deploy. The contact mentioned that only the driver side curtain air bag deployed. The driver sustained injuries to the neck and back which required medical attention. A police report was not filed. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v337000 (service brakes, hydraulic); however, the parts needed were not available within a reasonable timeframe to schedule the recall repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
The contact owned a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse. While driving 60 mph, the contact struck a pothole and lost control of the steering. As a result, the contact crashed into a cement wall and another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. The contact and passenger sustained back injuries and bruises on the stomach. Medical attention was received. A police report was filed. The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene; however, the vehicle was deemed totaled by the police officer. The insurance company towed the vehicle back to the contact's home and started an investigation. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The cause of the failure was not determined. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse. The contact stated that there was an abnormal sound emitted from the brakes after the brakes where applied and released. My car was stolen last year by someone i knew, and was wrecked. After the wreck, myself and pennsylvania state police spoke to the person and he said the accident was caused because the brakes failed to engage as he was making a turn and the right lower control arm failed, which caused the tie rod to snap which punctured through the wheel and out the tire. Damage done to the vehicle confirms this, and i have pictures and documentation to support this claim. Car was left on the side of the road with entire front right suspension detached, cv shaft ripped out from the manual transmission, entire front right wheel hub assembly was ripped off, caliper, brake pads and rotor remained attached to the hub, but were disconnected from the vehicle. The wheel also remained intact on the hub. There was significant front end damage to the bumper, fender, inner wheel hub splash guards, headlight, etc.air bags did not deploy. His seat belt did not lock on impact. Car was totaled and considered salvage, but i reconstructed it and have over $4,500 invested in repairs that could have been avoided if the brakes and lower control arm worked properly. He was traveling on a side street through a small town around 11pm on a clear, warm night. No other moving cars were on the road at the time, but he did side swipe several parked cars.
My car was hit by a driver who ran a red light while i was making a left hand turn. The point of impact was the passenger side front. Theother driver hit me at approximately 60 mph. None of the airbags deployed. Thank god my seat belts worked properly and i escaped the accident with very minor injuries. It is quite a concern the airbags failed. The accident happened yesterday and my insurance company feels it is a total loss. This severe of an accident should have triggered the air bags. I think an investigation should be conducted on 2007 airbags before someone gets killed.
The contact owns a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse. While driving approximately 50 mph and exiting the expressway, the vehicle struck a bump in the road. The contact depressed the brake pedal as the rear end of the vehicle began to sway back and forth without warning. The contact lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle spun around several times and crashed into a guardrail, causing damage to the front and rear of the vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a salvage yard. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
I have a 2007 mitsubishi eclipes gs. That has over 160,000 miles. For the last 9 months or even longer my husband has to push the passenger side dash board down where the airbag is to cover it back. No, i haven't took it to a dealer yet, i figure with the warranty off of the car, the dealer ship would say i have to pay to fix it. I have no money to fix it. So, i'm hoping that someone will read this and tell me that there is a recall on it so, it can be fixed the right way. I hope the passenger side airbag(dash board) works incase of a accident. I'm planning on calling the dealer ship monday 10/24/2016 to get more information on the problem.
5 years after buying vehicle, brake pedal would sporadically push all the way to the floor. Took me 3 years for someone to figure out what was wrong with spongy, whistling brakes. Abs hydraulic unit had grease caked under it, and the shop would not let me drive my car because it was too dangerous. Had abs system replaced on my $, a year later a recall came out on the abs hydraulic unit. Mitsubishi denied my claim for reimbursement because the place that fixed it failed to write on the form the reasons i came in to get it fixed. Apparently i'm going to have an $800 part replaced for no reason. Found on nhtsa the indicators of a bad part and the fact that it is documented my abs light came on should be enough. Also, passenger side door: the automatic lock no longer works and there is no key hole on that side; could be a slight issue but is more annoying than anything and puts car at risk for theft.
Vehicle became unresponsive to braking. Brakes almost go into floorboard before acknowledgement of braking. Car is very wobbly feeling, especially when it's raining or wet outside, the car will slide into anything when using brakes. I had to run up on curb to miss hitting the vehicle in front of me, because the car wouldn't stop! brake light also was on, so repaired it at body shop and replaced master cylinder. After master cylinder was replaced brake light went off but car was still driving the same, (wobbly, not stopping on time, brakes going into floorboard). About a month or less later brake light came back on and body shop said it was brake fluid so they fixed it, then brake light went off, but still driving the same. Rotated tires, replaced old tires and put on new ones, aligned car, replaced break pads, replaced master cylinder, and still nothing has changed. I have spent so much time and thousands of dollars to repair this car and nothing works. I've been without a car during the time it's been repaired to only find out that it can't be repaired no matter what mechanics do. This is completely dangerous and i am just inches away from having an accident and either hurting myself or other people (especially on the interstate). I do not see how anyone can drive a vehicle without brakes working and there needs to be a recall, because this is such a safety hazard. I would appreciate someone taking responsibility of fixing this issue, since me and other eclipse 2007 owners have taken initiative to fix our vehicles. There are several complaints about the brake system and someone needs to become aware of them before one of us kills ourselves in an accident. Thanks.
My 17 year old son was driving his 2007 mitsubishi eclipse gl when he ran off the side of the road.he over corrected which resulted in loss of control of the car.the car flipped several times and hit an electric pole before coming to rest.the car then burst into flames.my son and his passengers miraculously were able to get out of the car before the car was reported to have exploded and become completely engulfed in flames.i have since been able to determine that mitsubishi had a recall on certain models due to concerns with a defective part on the fuel tank. We purchased the car 3 months ago from a dealer and the car has a warranty.when i contacted mitsubishi to determine if the recall work had be recorded onto his car.i was told the car was not one of the cars with a recall.i am concerned that the car did not have a recall like other 2007 models yet the car burst into flames as a result of the crash.seecomponent:fuel system, gasoline:storage:tank assemblypotential number of units affected:45988summary:mitsubishi is recalling 45,988 my 2005-2007 endeavor, galant, eclipse coupe, and my 2007 eclipse spyder vehicles. The bracket that is the attachment point for the left rear fuel tank mounting strap may have been improperly formed during a metal stamping process. The process may have caused the metal to have a split in the area where the bolt that holds one of the two fuel tank straps to the underside of the vehicle is located. In the event the fuel tank is full and the vehicle is subject to a severe collision, the bracket may break and allow the fuel tank to drop down, possibly causing a fuel leak.consequence:fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire.remedy:dealers will inspect to see if the left rear fuel tank strap mounting bracket has splitting beyond a specific limit. Vehicles with moderate to severe splitting will be repaired using a reinforcement cap, a special structural adhesive.
Fuel leaks profusely when filling the tank. It is in the filler tube not the tank. It drips and puddles under the car inside the rear tire and center of car.

Brakes stopped working before a speed bump. Have been spongy and making puppy like sounds ever since when released.
I have had several incidents over several months when i step on the brake , it goes to the floor. I quickly pump the brakes and braking effectiveness returns. There has also been times where brake pedal feels mushy.i took to local dealer after almostrear ending a vehicle when it stopped suddenly.. I told them i had received the recall notice but it had told me to wait for further instruction. I informed the dealer that something had to be done as vehicle was unsafe. They performed an abs recall inspection and told me car was fine......".i said no it's not and something needs to be done now.the dealer said they would get back to me.oct 2nd the brake failed and in avoiding another car i went into the ditch causing damage to car and mild whiplash. Car was towed. I informed dealer and asked what i should do.......he said they could flush system but most likely the abs unit needed replacing and they did not have it.i talked to mitchubishi n.awho informed me that there was no recall........i now have a car that insurance will fix but i will pay 500.00 deductible for a car that i am afraid to drive, so now what do i do?the accident happened on a city street when i was preparing to turn left.state patrol and ems responded.
I was pressing brakes when i suddenly got the bump driving from the hill and brake pedal became very soft and the car stopped braking until i pushed breaks very hard. Fortunately, i could avoid the collision with car in front of me before the lights. I pulled off the road to check brakes and i found the liquid leak under the car in the center. It didn't smell like fuel, my breaking fluid is at the maximum level, so i'm not sure what it is, it doesn't smell and has no color. So, car still can stop, but brake is spongy and i had to press pedal to the very down to start breaking. I figured out it's pretty common eclipse model problem (see forums http://club4g.org/board/problem-reports/31276-spongy-brake-pedal-whistle-release-2.html and http://club4g.org/board/problem-reports/86737-recall-updated-june-2015-a.html) and it may be related to the problem with abs module. Later, i found out that mitsubishi made a recall on july 21, 2015 for antilock systems on eclipses 07 (see http://www.dealerrater.com/recalls/mitsubishi/eclipse/#y2007), code of recall: sr-15-004.

I have no brakes what so ever i have to push them like 10 times before i have any
I have been having issues with spongy brakes i have replaced the master cylinder but i have been reading up on the issue an a lot of owners with mitsubishi eclipse have been experiencing the same issue i have had when you go to engage the brakes its takes tons of pressure and the issue is the first time you slam on brakes to avoid an issue the abs never resets and starts to leak i have replaced all brakes and still experiencing the issue this needs to be recall because having spongy brakes is dangerous and scary that your brakes may give way.
The contact owns a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and attempting to stop the vehicle by depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal traveled down to the floorboard; making it hard for the contact to stop the vehicle. The contact owns a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse. While driving approximately 30 mph, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard and failed to stop the vehicle when it was depressed. As a result, the contact crashed into the preceding vehicle. A police report was filed. The passenger of the last vehicle sustained head injuries that required medical attention. The vehicle was able to be driven to the contact's residence and the brake pedal performed as designed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The brakes failed to stop the car at a red light within about 10 feet. The road had gravel on it and the brakes started to grip, then the pedal went down further and the car kept going for about 10 feet. I was lucky there was no one in front of me. This has happened again several times since then. I have recently received the safety recall letter and went to verhage mitsubishi in holland, mi on july 30 but they said they don't have the parts to repair it. I called again today and they said they still don't have the parts to repair it. This is very unsafe and should be repaired promptly and mitsubishi is not providing the parts to do the repair..
I was cut off and had to brake heavily to avoid an accident, the abs was engaged. Ever since then my pedal has been soft, brakes less effective, and i've had a whistle upon release of the pedal. The brakes have been bled to no avail.
The contact owns a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse. While driving at an unknown speed, the brake pedal was engaged and extended to the floorboard. The contact mentioned that the brakes failed to respond. Left front wheel fell off after failure of front cross member. Vehicle was on a city street under 4 mph when bumped by adjacent car in left front fender.
The contact owns a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse. The contact was driving 20 mph when the brakes were applied and felt abnormal. An abnormal siren then sounded inside the vehicle.the vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where the contact was advised that the abs modulator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The vin was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000.
Had to brake quickly to avoid hitting someone pulling out of a parking lot.front left wheel locked up, abs engaged and made an odd noise.ever since, the brakes are soft and make a whistling sound upon releasing the pedal.i've had all the brake pads and rotors replaced, as well as the fluid and a proper bleed performed.this has not solved the issue.in performing research, this same issue continues to occur for others as well, and the only fix is replacing the abs pump.this needs to be recalled.if i have to brake hard now, the left front wheel still locks up, and it jerks the car in that direction initially.
I was driving down the road when i was coming to a stop my brake would not stop me. When i push on the brakes you would hear a whistle sound. Cylinder and booster both replaced and pedal/brakes are still soft. After hit a bump, the brakes would go completely soft and required them to be pumped up. This happened several times. We replaced the master cylinder and booster after brake pedal would go all the way down with little stopping power. Replacing the master cylinder fixed that issue, but now the problem is exactly as described in the previous : brakes begin to engage, then go soft (spongy) for a bit, then re-engage. Braking power is significantly less than before.
The contact owns a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond. As a result, the contact had to down shift for the vehicle in order to stop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but the failure was unable to be duplicated. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred after the vehicle was serviced under nhtsa campaign number: 15v337000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Also, passenger side door: the automatic lock no longer works and there is no key hole on that side; could be a slight issue but is more annoying than anything and puts car at risk for theft.
Received notice of brake issue recall after having two incidents where brakes completely let go when sudden braking on a regular city street. Called dealership and told to call back; called back after one additional incident where i applied the brakes as i was driving on a city street and they did not catch for quite a while (nearly hit two cars), plus now leaking brake fluid, and dealer told me if i am concerned about crashes or being injured, pay for all repairs yourself. They don't know how to remedy. I am terrified i am going to die while they ignore the issue and just maybe hope it goes away? this is criminal and i feel a class action lawsuit is in order for all of us mitsibishi eclipse owners who have to endure terror and fear for our lives just to drive our car.
I was driving on a dead end street and the brakes went all the way to the floor and i had no stopping or slowing down even with pumping the brakesi had the brakes checked a month prior to this because the brake and abs light would come on randomly and the technician at morries mazda reported to me they were operational..i ended up hitting a tree (my choices were a line of cars or a tree, so i picked the tree) with the brake malfunction and no air bags deployed at around 30 plus mph. And i sustained injuries. When i looked at the brakes it appeared that the front passenger side brake was the only operational brake as it was the only rotor to not have accumulated a high amount of rust.
The contact owns a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse. The contact stated the driver was traveling 40 mph, when the vehicle started to make a loud popping noise whenever the brakes were depressed. As a result, the brakes failed to stop the vehicle properly. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. May 2015: received recall notice. Defect might affect braking. Local mitsu dealer said replacement part had not yet arrived.dealer's inspection verified that the damage would require replacement, not simply a cleaning overhaul of the part.dealer said that they would call when the part was available for replacement.we have called the dealer on the average of once a month and always received the same answer.the recall document does clearly state that if the part were not replaced a crash could occur.we are eager to have our car restored to working condition.we are senior citizens who depend on our car.what further action can we take to facilitate repair?

I had to make a hard stop due to a deer jumping out in front of me. After that my brakes were spongy and not smooth while braking to a stop. I would almost have to press all the way to the floor board to stop. There is also a squeak noise when i release the brake pedal. Every time i took it to a mechanic they could not find anything wrong with it. While looking online i found many people with the same exact description of this issue with no real solution.
Driving into a parking lot, hit bump, complete loss of brake pressure, depressing the peddle had little to no effect on speed. Had to stop vehicle using transmission and emergency brake. Took vehicle to repair station in the parking lot, car sat for several hours before technician could inspect car. Brakes returned to normal function. Mechanic found no exterior issues. No particulate in fluid, fluid within normal parameters, lines intact. Mechanic found no cause of loss of brake pressure. Brakes still slightly spongy.
After a sudden stop due to pedestrian jay walker in the road, the brakes became almost irresponsive, the feeling is spongy and the pedal makes a whoooa sound when released. Now the pedal travels almost to the end before there is any brake response.. There no leaks or any other attributed to the sudden loss of response from the brakes, the car is very unsafe now and my mechanic says there is nothing wrong with the master cylinder, lines, air in the system and the pads are in good condition.. This car has become very unsafe to drive.

On friday september 11, 2015 i was driving my 2007 mitsubishi eclipse at 35 mph, and tried pressing the brakes so i could turn soon. When i pressed the brakes they went all the way down and the car did not slow down at all. I almost lost control of the car, because while i was turning the car jerked back and then forward really hard. The second time it happened was at a stop sign. I almost hit the car going straight because the car wouldn't stop and the brakes would just go all the way down. This problem happened 2 times in a row.

My car was recalled for the anit-lock braking system and the recall notice stated that the repair would take approx 2.0 hrs to evaluate and 4.0 to repair. The dealer had my car for 7 days and would not give me a loaner car. The reason they had it so long was because mitsubishi did not let the dealers have the replacement part. They had to fax the info to mitsubishi for approval then wait for the part to be shipped. They would not give me my car back when i told them i had to get to work they told me there was nothing they could do. I don't understand why if it's a known recall mitsubishi doesn't at least let the dealer have 1 or 2 parts on hand and then replace them as used.it's totally unacceptable for mitsubishi to expect to have someone's car for a week.they stated it wasn't their problem that i would have to rent a car in order to get to work.i had to pay over $200 for a "free recall".shame on you mitsubishi.

While driving on snow as brakes were applied the abs kicked in and the vehicle slid.at that point all brake pressure at the pedal was lost and failed to return.braking required full engaging pedal and had little to no pressure.about 2 days later all brake pedal pressure returned.since this incident, anytime i have to brake hard the same issue happens, and has come close to causing a collision on several occasions.it also happens when brakes are engaged and the right front passenger wheel hits a bump.each time this happens all brake pressure at the pedal is lost, however after about 2 days it is fine again. Also each time this happens, there is a whistle sound when the brake pedal is released.there are manyowners of this same vehicle with the same issue.many have replaced several parts but still have the same issue.it is a major safety concern for owners, and some have suggested getting rid of the vehicle all together. This issue for this vehicle can be read about from many owners at several online forums:club 4g: http://club4g.org/board/problem-reports/31276-spongy-brake-pedal-whistle-release.html#post1321818car talk: http://community.cartalk.com/discussion/2284516/2006-mitsubishi-eclipse-brake-problem.
Slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting something and now the brakes are very spongy and need to pressed all the way down to stop. Also makes a noise when letting go of the pedal. Was sent a recall notice months ago and the parts still aren't available. Hoping it doesn't get any worse while mitsubishi plays around getting the parts to stop my car.

I had to brake hard to avoid an accident and now my brakes are very soft and spongy and make a whistling noise. I have had the entire brakes and drums replaced twice and master cylinder replace and the issue is still there. I went online to see if anyone else had experienced it and there is a huge group of eclipse owners who have experienced this problem.

I have had this issue 20 or more times in the past, i have owned my vehicle for 5 years, i have had the brakes replaced 3 times. Today i was driving about 60 miles an hour on a wet road. I had to suddenly hit the brakes, although i did not slam on them, and the anti lock brakes kicked in, then i lost all the brakes all together. I released the brakes immediately and drove to the right side of traffic to avoid a crash! as the car slowed on its own i had to slowly and repeatedly press the brakes, all pressure was lost to the brakes at this point and they felt spongy. I exited the freeway (full of traffic) and slowly pulled off the side of the road, while depressing the brakes i noted they felt inconsistent, they would either immediately brake or not at all, terrifying! this has happened in the past and last a few hours or days, i have to repeatedly pump the brakes as if there is air in the brake lines. There is also a hissing sound like many other ppl describe (might be coming from the pedal). The biggest shock is that this has not been recalled, when i take it in to be checked they always say the brakes look fine, with no other ideas and after a few days it just goes away until i hit the brakes again or run over a big speed bump. Please do a recall on this issue! i have read on other forums that this may be due to the master cylinder's internal seal breaking and leaking fluid into the booster and ruining it, although when calling the dealership they say that this is unlikely, so confused. Recall this issue! this is too common and terrifying. I do not trust my car!
Driving the car earlier today and hit a small bump and the brake pedal went all the way to the floor, like it has several times before. This time when it happened the brake are not returning to normal, always before when this happened the brake pedal would return to normal in a day or two. What really concerns me is all of the complains on line but no recall yet??? this is very alarming. I'm not sure what to do with the car, all i seem to be able to find on line are used abs pumps and a used part seems like a bad idea.
While driving to work one morning in january around 7:00, my brake pedal went to the floor when i attempted to stop for traffic. I had to steer out of my lane to avoid hitting the stopped car in front of me. I quickly pumped the pedal and it came back up to stop my car. I took the car to a nearby firestoneservice center but they could not locate any problem, as the car was stopping okay at that time. At least once or twice every couple of months since january, i have had this same thing to occur, the brake pedal goes to the floor when stopping.i have to pump the pedal very fast and hard to stop. Once the pedal is back up, it stops fine. I just never know when it is going to the floor. In july 2015, i received a letter from mitsubishi motors notifying me of arecall due to an abs hydraulic unit problem. The safety recall notice states mitsubishi will send me a follow up notice when the remedy parts are available.i feel this is not sufficient. I feel my car is too unsafe for driving. It should be towed to a local dealership for immediate repair. I should be given a safe rental car until mitsubishi can fix the brakes. The dealership has informed me, they have no towing available, i will have to pay for towingand for a diagnostic check if they cannot reproduce the brake failure, even though there is a recall in place. I know this is an intermittent problem and they probably will not be able to reproduce the failure, that should not cost me towing, diagnostic or storage cost. Is mitsubishi only responsiblewhen there is a crash?i want my car safe for me and my family. I feel mitsubishi should do more to make this happen.
The contact owns a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse. While driving approximately 50 mph the contact depressed the brake pedal and noticed that it felt like a sponge. The contact applied additional pressure to the brake pedal, the brakes locked and the vehicle slid forward. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The mechanic stated the brake master cylinder had to be replaced. The failure continued to occur after the vehicle wasrepaired. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing where the technician replaced the brake master cylinder a second time. The failure continued after the vehicle was repaired. The technician stated the abs system may be defective but did not perform an inspection to verify if the abs caused the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

I have experienced at least 5 brake failures where the brake pedal went to the floor.i have had 3 master cylinder replacements and have taken the car to a certified mechanic multiple times trying to fix the problem. After finding out about safety recall sr-15-004, i took vehicle to mitsubishi dealership to have the recall repaired on 6/15/18.they flushed out the abs system and replaced dot 3 brake fluid with dot 4, ran abs system test and it came out "ok no repair to abs needed at this time." since then, i have experienced 7 more brake failures where the pedal went to the floor. My certified mechanic was finally able to re-create the incident, which seems to happen after, not during, braking over rough road surfaces. The brake pedal usually comes right back up after a few seconds or minutes, and is fine until another braking incident over rough road.there are no codes delivered at all during these instances.my mechanic and i both are convinced that these occurrences are related to the recall problem of deterioration inside the abs unit, as no other brake problems exist.this has been happening september 2016 (mileage 72,563) until present (august 4, 2018, mileage 96,783) and is a very, very dangerous problem!!!

Bought brand new 2007 mitsubishi vehicle that had strange loud sounds occurring every time when brakeswere applied slowly while driving in traffic everyday. Took vehicle to mitsubishi dealership 3 times within the same month to remedy the problem.mitsubishi dealership statedloud sounds were due to brake dust buildup. Had requested to have brakes replaced because brake dust buildup was unlikely to create those kind of loud sounds after being cleaned by the mitsubishi dealership 3 times within the same month. Mitsubishi dealership still has not resolved this problem, and ibelievedthe brakes were defective.
I called twice because after having my car 3 months, the brakes squeaked and squealed badly when slowly braking. I got them cleaned, and paid for this. Then i took it into my local dealership and they said there was a new brake pad because they found problems with my model and year mitsubishi. They quickly replaced my brake pads. Well i question that, because within a week the same sounds were coming from the brakes.
Brakes squeal on brand new car. Company replacedrotors and calipers on front but not rear. Car makes loud noise when in reverse, but company not replacing rear hardware. Says this is normal brake noise because car is high performance vehicle.
Left front wheel fell off after failure of front cross member. Vehicle was on a city street under 4 mph when bumped by adjacent car in left front fender.
The front of my dashboard (the airbag sits behind it) is coming off of my vehicle.it is on the passenger's side.i contacted the mitsubishi dealer in charleston, sc and he informed me that he had seen numerous vehicles with the same problem (mitsubishi).i consider this to be a safety hazard because once this piece of material falls off there will be nothing to protect the passenger from the airbag at any time.i was informed it would cost $1,200 to fix.the entire dashboard needs to be replaced.my vehicle doesn't even have 100,000 miles on it yet.i believe that having my vehiclein the condition it is in is very dangerous and mitsubishi obviously didn't manufacture a good reliable product which is not only deceptive but dangerous.please help me.thank you!

The dashboard facia is pulling away from the dashboard. I have recently reported this under tracking number 10956954. It has gotten worse, and i am concerned that the passenger side airbag could be hindered in event of air bag deployment. I am attaching photos.
