Idle speed control motor failed for the second time in the life of the car (that i am aware of). Dealer told me that this was a common problem and they could not do anything for me except sell me a new part ( $250.00 ).the manufacturer knows about the problem and does nothing to fix it.

While driving about 30 mph vehicle wouldn't go faster, and transmission had been replaced before.the owner stated that the transmission was replace three times and this problem should be looked it.

Car will go for a very short distance when you take off, then car won't move when you put your foot on the gas pedal.took to a transmission shop.they said it was something internal in the transmission.just to take it apart would cost $375.after that, it could cost anywhere from $1100 to $2200 to fix.this car has had problems since we purchased it.by the time we finish putting money into it, we will have spent more for repairs than we did to buy the car.if there are any parts that should be recalled, i would like to know before iput anymore money into this car.

Dealership refused to replace damaged parts that caused other problems with vehicle.vehicle was involved in an accident, and transmission will not allow vehicle to move.vehicle is located atdealership.part failed and caused the vehicle to lock up. The passenger lap belt for seat belt failed.

Dealer refused to honor recall because consumer refused to allow them to do extra work which would be at consumer's cost. Consumer informed dealer all he wanted them to dowas what it said in the manufacturer's recall notice.

Received recall #98069001. Took vehicle to dealer. Was informed work was already done. Checked with another dealer & workwas not done. Told other dealer to inspect & complete recall on vehicle. The transfer case was leaking badly.

Dealer refused to perform recall repairs 98v- 69000, transfer case,because of problem that existswithinthe transmission.please give any further details.

Took vehicle to dealer under recall. Was informed the work already done. Took to another dealer & was informed work was not done. Was told by previous dealer that byjust inspecting vehicle,he completed recall work.also, transfer case is leaking badly. Manufacturer ignored owner of the vehicle. Owner is upset & would like to have the work done on the transfer case.

Transfer case yoke failed, both original and factory installed replacement.

While having left rear tire taken off at tire retailer, rear axle fell off onto the ground, had no prior warnings, and no rust on vehicle.*nlm

While driving the vehicle about 48 mph, a loud clicking sound came from the transmission area. When taken to dealership, dealer stated that the mounting bolts on the axle retaining sheared off. The vehicle is being repaired at owner's expense.

Tl - the contact owns a 1992 mitsubishi eclipse. The contact stated that there was a burning odor from inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop where it was diagnosed that the seal was leaking from the transfer case. In order to repair the failure, the mechanic replaced the seals.the dealer was contacted who advised that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign id number: 98v069001 (power train:automatic transmission). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 130,000. Kmj

Owner replaced transfer case because of lock up. Mitsubishi claims the recall was done and they are not liable for damage when in fact the part was only inspected and not deemed a rish at that time. They are now refusing service unless the broken part is placed back on the vehicle and the vehicle is towed to a dealership.

Driver's/passenger's seat belts failed to hold secure during accident, resulting in injuries/one death, also seat belt caused injury during accident.*skd

Seat belts do not restraint child safety seat properly due to location of buckle. *sd

Shoulder belt remains in the full forward position when the door is closed. Also while driving belt will suddenly move back to the full forward position. Recall repaired delayed due to part not being available.

Driver's automatic shoulder belt failed/did not tighten up upon frontal collision; hit right front of another stopped vehicle.tt

Consumerhad inspected tires and foundthat front right tire had a tread separation.

The consumer requested information regarding safety recalls.*ph

Transfer unit failed as i was pulling away from a stoplight.rockville mitsubishi was notified, before the recall on the transfer unit was issued.they determined the transfer unit was bad but couldn't remove the unit because the output shaft was seized to the transmission.subsequently, the dealer is trying to blame the problem on operator error.

Vehicle would surge and check engine light came on and the engine died while driving. Dealer contacted and no response to registered letter. Vehicle cannot be driven. Several repair attempts however continues to surge.

Vehicle accelerated suddenly and unexpectedly when applyingbrakes. Consumer had to turnvehicle off for it to come to a stop. Please provide additonal information.

From the first day of purchase, the left (driver's side) window has not worked properly.the window will roll down, but is extremely difficult, almost impossible, to roll up to a closed position.
