Engine transfer case is leaking approximately enough amount to empty the engine in 3 weeks. There was a recall that was never done by previous owners. Requesting a claim for a recall that was closed in 2002. I discovered the recall and the failed parts after i purchased it from a private sell 04/21/11. Failed transfer case still exists on this vehicle. My safety concerns due to a failed transfer case are as follows: hot running engine, poor performance, difficult shifting, faulty sensors, poor mileage, environmental safety, etc.

Water pump was leaking, which damaged the timing belt and valves, consumer feels that this a manufacturing defect.

When driving vehicle, for no apparent reason, vehicle suddenly would accelerate, tried applying the brakes, to no avail, brakes would not slow/stop vehicle, would double in speed

After leaving vehicle and putting hand brake on-hand brakes disengages and pops out of gear.tt

Transmission failed 4 times, causing car to shift gears quickly/accelerate rapidly without the ability to stop .

In the nearly year i've owned my car i've had four problems with my tranny.at the time i purchased the vehicle, i could not afford the $3000+ the dealership was asking for an extended warranty and no other extended warranty company that i've contacted offers extended warranties on twin turbo cars.so all of this, roughly $8000 in the past year, has come from my pocket, which i'm still paying.in the original transmission with the car, the seals were leaking roughly 2 months after i bought the car.i bought replacement seals and fixed this, only to have my tranny lock up the wheels on me while doing roughly 75 mph on the 241 toll road.it is only due to low traffic at that time that no one got hurt.i then replaced the transmission.and after about 6 months, my wheels locked up again, and on the 241 late at night.i have yet to figure out how i didn't get injured, and now, the latest problem is that this transmission is leaking as well!for originally being a $45000 sports car, which i purchased used at $20000, these are problems that certainly aren't expected or make the car worth owning.

Soon after buying vehicle transmission went out. Consumerhad it replaced. But,problem has returned. Please provide further information.

Purchased a used 1994 3000gt mit. Two years later the auto. Transmission "blew out".had to pay $2,000.00 for repairs in addition to storage charges.took a month to scrape up the money to pay.had to double up on bills in order to get car fixed.read last week mit. Motors in japan knew about defective parts installed in their vehicles for over 2 decades.traded this lemon in sept. 2000 liccardi ford, inc.estimated exact date of transmission failure and current mileage. As well as date of purchase.good riddance!!deserve reimbursement!updated 03/09/06.

I was asked to fill out form by 3si.org b/c of failures and leakage of the transmission.

There should be a recall for these poorly made transmissions and synchros.

Under normal driving conditions, vehicle lost all power and engine raced wildly when accelerator was pressed. This condition continued until vehicle slowed to around 20 mph when power was regained until speed reached 40 mph when failure occurred again. Traffic was backed up behind me with angry motorists passing in dangerous areas because of my limited speed. Fault was traced to the end clutch assembly inside the transmission that prevented transmission from shifting into 4th gear. I don't have the old parts.

Transmission has developed "numerous leaks" according to dealer. Indicated my only option is replacement for roughly $5500.

My tranmisson is leaking and grinding. Since mits. Don't make any part for the tranmssion, i was asked to buy a brand new tranmisson. Also my transfer case is making this strange noise and people told me their transfer case locked up on them while the car was driving.

I am not the 1st owner of this car but previous owner experienced same problem.awd transfer case lock-up at highway speeds. Loud rattling noise, extreme difficulty shifting, fluid leaked out.this problem is very common in all 3000gt and stealth cars equipped with awd powertrain. Additionl cases of this problem can be found simply by searching around car owner communities such as www.3si.org . Mitsubishi dealer won't repair my transfer case and only solution is to buy a new one. Total cost would be over $5000 assuming no other damage to drivetrain was experienced, which is very likely.

Clutch assemblyhad loose bolts. This caused vehicle to jump out of 5th gear. Thiscould haveresulted ina crash.also would not go into reverse gear.please provide further information and vin#.

My transmmission is leaking and when i go 45mph it jerks and grinds i spoke to mistubishi dealer in baytown, texas and the service manager said yes we can fix it at no charge that she would call me when part gets in so i waited for two weeks then i called back and i asked if part can in and she said that her manger told her that my car has already been don and i told her taht it was not done so she said that she was going to look into it again and call me back and i have called several time and left message and vin# and they will not return my calls and my car is just sitting at home please look into this it is not right. Consumer states that the transfer case on the vehicle is leaking oil while the consumer is driving. This problem can cause the wheels to lock while driving. Contacted dealer.8mr

Consumer noticed oil underneath vehicle, the transfer case is leaking. Vehicle has been examined by dealer.this type of leaking is known to cause all 4 wheels to lock if all the fluid is lost from the transfer case.*jg

Mitsubishi 3000gt, seat belts do not function properly. If i was to get into an accident, i would almost surely be severely injured. Mitsubishi refuses to fix!!!

Seat belt in my 1994 mitsubishi 3000gt do not function.i had them checked out and the mechanic said that it was notoriously common on these to have bad non-operational seat belts.if it is notoriously common why has mitsubishi not taken care of the problem?i am just concerned that the belts i am getting installed will do the same thing, they are of the same manufacturer, so says the dealership.right now my belts are only used for show until the new belts come in.law says you need to wear a seatbelt, but mine will not do its job if i do get in a wreck.

The seat belt on my 94 3000gt wont retract properly and will have lot's of slack in it, so if a crash occurred it wont have any protection.

The seat belts in the car do not function properly. When the seat belt is pulled on it does not retract, leaving enough slack in the belt that if an accident were to occur, it would not serve its purpose as a safety restraint.

1994 mistubishi 3000gt vr-4seat belts retract very slowly, sometimes have to assist the retraction.this affects both front seat belt all the time and the rear belts occasionally.this could lead to leaving enough slack in the belt that if an accident were to occur, it would not serve its purpose as a safety restraint.any forward movement makes the slack worse, forcing me to assist in retracting the belt while driving, obviously a bit dangerous to be playing with the upper piller behind me at speed.

Seat belt does not retract properly, leaving slack in the belt that causes it to not properly restrain the driver.

(1)i purchased a 1994 mitsubishi 3000gt in september of 2005.i don't know what lead up to the failure of the driver side seat belt, as it was not properly functioning when i bought the car.(2) when the seat belt is pulled on it does not retract, leaving enough slack in the belt that if an accident were to occur, it would not serve its purpose as a safety restraint.(3)i have done nothing currently to correct the failure.i don't know if the previous owners did anything to correct the failure.

Driver and passenger seat belts don't retract... They stay slack all the time..i believe this is a factory defect with the vehicle. Numerous other with this vehicle have the same problem... It is not unique.

Rear seat beltsfailed.they will not retract without substantial effort, and they did not catch under rapid decelleration.both driver and passenger front seat belts frequently failed to catch under rapid deceleration.this problempersisted for several years.

Driver and passenger seat belt do not retract after being pulled out. There is quite a bit of slack when it is buckled, so in the event of an accident, it would not serve its purpose. When it is cold, seat belt does not move at all after pulling out.

My 1994 3000gt seat belts when pulled out don't retract front and back seat belts, and i am not able to always manuelly push them back in.

Driver and passenger seat belts to not function properly. Once the seat belt is pulled on and extended it will not retract, therefore having no restraint if an accident were to occur. This occurs everytime the seat belt is used.

94 3000gt n/a,seat belts don't retract, often lock up not allowing the proper feature of excessive force to lock to seat belt and keep you in place.seat belt also does not retract after unclipped leaving it in the way and often preventing the door from being closed tightly.this problem has gone on through my ownership of the car as well as the past two owners.i don't know if it goes back beyond that.

Dt*:the contact stated the front driver and passenger seatbelts would not retract.this occurred while attempting to buckle or leaning forward.the occupants were able to use the seatbelts, however they had to be self retracted to use.the dealer and manufacturer were not alerted and no inspection has been made.

The seat belts in my 1994 mitsubishi 3000gt do not function properly, they dont feel secure when buckled, they have to much slack in them.

Front seat belts do not retract after the seat is returned from the forward position. Also, theydo not retract if too much slack is pulled when buckling the belt. The slack has to be fed back into the tensioner to make the seatbelt fit tight in order to be effective during a crash.

Seat belt does not retract properly.

I am a part of an international club for cars. I read in our forum that we need to complain about our seat belts not working properly to create a recall for being unsafe. I own a 3000gt vr4 and also have the problem of my seat belts not retracting properly after being put on. Is there anything you can do about this? please contact me if you have any questions, i appreciate anything you can do to help.

Driver and passenger side seat belt in 1994 mitsubishi 3000gt will not retract correctly leaving excessive slack in seat belt while driving.

Seat belt comes out but doesn't retract to become tight on the driver. Then, doesn't retract back to get out of the way, it goes across the driver in a sloppy loose manner.

My front seat belts in my car no longer retract. They won't tighten up against me and probably wouldn't hold me too well if i was in an accident. The car is a 94 mitsubishi 3000gt vr-4.

1994 mitsubusihi3000gt sl.seat belt does not always retract, leaving slack in the belt.this problem has been happening for years but i was unaware of this forum to register my complaint.out of dealer warranty.

Since i've owned my mitsubishi 3000gt at 147,000 miles, the seat belts have not retracted properly in the front two seats.the rear seat belts both work correctly and belts in my truck work correctly as well, which is a 1978 ford f150 with several hundred thousand miles on it.

During december i almost had an accident when a vehicle cut me off on the highway. I immediately pressed my brake pedal but my seat belt did not work. Later on i realized my seat belt doesn't retract when the weather is humid.

My seat belts on a mitsubishi 3000gt sl 1994 are not retracting.after reading a forum i have determined this is a common problem and a potential safety hazard.they have been replaced once, but may need to be replaced again.unfortunately, mitsubishi will not take responsibility for replacing this defective part.

Both of the front seat belts in my 1994 mitsubishi 3000gt base model are almost constantly slack and do not retract well. I feel this is not safe for me and my passenger and i want a recall.

Abs light came on intermittently, especially while driving through mushy snow during winter times. This happened over the past few years, in as early as one year after new ownership. In the past, the light went away after restarting the vehicle or after a few days. However, this time, few days after driving over a few inches of flood water, the abs light has came on and stayed on for more than a month now. Dealer estimated replacement cost is about $3641.32. Question: has there been a technical service bulletin issued by the manufacturer regarding the abs issues? should the manufacturer be responsible for the replacement, consider the vehicle has only 38,000 miles and is under 5 years old? thanks.

The abs anti-lock brakewarning light keep coming on dealer check car could not find nothing wrong .tt

Driving along highway when the steering wheel went out of control.tt

Driving at 45 mph, steering wheel jerked abruptly to the left and took car into opposing lane of traffic. Tried to correct and the rear end fishtailed, spun the car 180 degrees, and went off the side of road (10 to 12ft. Embankment) flipped over and landed on it's top. Minor injuries to the two paseengers considering the severity of the damage to the car.

The contact owns a 1994 mitsubishi 300 gt. The contact stated that the passenger side front tire separated from the vehicle while he was driving approximately 45 mph. The vehicle was towed to his residence where he noticed that the subframe connected to lower control arm broke which caused the failure. The contact called the manufacturer who offered no assistance. The vehicle had not been repaired. The current and failure mileages were 218,442.

Throttle body failed.

Floor mat is supposed to be anchored with locking clip to keep from traveling; clip is not installed, caused sudden acceleration; car hit guard rail/embankment.

When driving vehicle, for no apparent reason, vehicle suddenly would accelerate, tried applying the brakes, to no avail, brakes would not slow/stop vehicle, would double in speed

Learned from dealer there is an "outgassing" which causes the windshield to fog - cleaning doesn't help - causes a glare which makes visibility extremely hazardous in all type of light and weather

While driving on a dirt road, less than 10 mph, consumer thought that the left front tirewas going flat. When examining the vehicle, the left front wheel was found to be cracked abuot 8-10 inches. The wheel has been taken to the dealership for inspection. Please provide any further information.

The chrome was peeling off the rims, which caused the air in the tire to leak out while driving the vehicle.the tires required air to be replaced every couple of days due to the leaky bead of the wheel.there were many other owners with the same problem.according to the dealer, two wheels had been replaced for this issue and the new ones have the same issue. *sc
