Vehicle was in motion driving on a highway and caught fire under the hood. A fire extinguisher put it out but i could see damaged parts. I drove the car to flow mini in raleigh and dropped it off for repairs. I was notified that the auxillery water pump had shorted out then over heated and caught on fire. I googled my vehicle number and saw recalls for certain minis. Mine falls into the category and was never contacted about this being a fire hazard. Wife will not drive the car any more.
