Mini cooper. Consumer writes in regards to airbag indicator and seat belt buzzer problems.
Mini cooper. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle engine problems.the consumer stated he experienced a smoking issue under the hood. He took the vehicle to the dealer, but was told, the problem could not be identified or duplicated.the seat was unraveling, so he was offered and accepted a quick fix and was informed the necessary repairs would be made after certain parts were ordered.he experienced reduced performance when he accelerated. The service department determined the vehicle had a faulty coolant temperature sensor/thermostat, which was replaced.anti-freeze was leaking on the garage floor.when he returned to the dealer, he was informed that a freeze plug had blown. The check engine light illuminated, and there was a reduction in power.the consumer returned to the dealer again, and was informed the high pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced.

Gear shifter flew off. The entire assembly on the manual gear shifter became detached at high speed. Unable to downshift or up shift! very dangerous occurrence. Finally had to pull over on interstate and reattach the gear shifter. Happened again shortly after. Car needs to be recalled immediately to fix this issue. Has happened to consumer reports as well, and other car magazines. Several individuals with the new 2014 mini cooper hardtop have had issues with the same thing and have commented on how dangerous and scary it was.
