Saw on the web that mini recalled and then extended warranty recall on an airbag malfunction.the light came on a few days ago, but i can not find any information as to the truth in that statement.supposedly 10 years or 150,000 miles.

On april 20, 2015, i took my 2005 mini s convertible to mini of fairfield county in darien, ct because the air bag light was on.i received a verbal quote of approximately $1200 to repair.later that day i received an email from the shop foreman stating that mini was aware of an issue with the passenger seat sensor and that mini was looking into a course of action.a few days later the press reported that a recall was being done for this issue and i called again, when i was told that a letter would come from mini with details. Sometime between then and june 15, i received a letter (dated "june 2015") stating that a recall was going to be issued, and i should not carry passengers if the light was on (it had been on since april), and again called mini of fairfield county, where they reiterated the info in the letter that i would have to wait for yet another letter.i called mini customer care both on june 15 and august 25 to request information on the timing, and they were unable to provide any information beyond what the dealer told me.it is now august 25, and over four months that i've been unable to safely carry a passenger in this vehicle.i feel that this meets the standard noted in the recall letter "if your mini dealer is unable to remedy the defect without charge or within a reasonable amount of time", especially when i was given a verbal quote in april to fix the issue. Mini has also declined to provide a loaner vehicle while mine is disabled.i request that nhtsa investigate whether mini intends to properly carry out this recall (15v-205).

Airbag warning lamp illuminates intermittently in dash and passenger airbag "off" illuminates above rear view mirror in my 2005 mini cooper s convertible.when some sits in the seat it comes on intermittently.when you check the connectors under the seat it goes off with wiggling.diagnosed by mini cooper dealership as "cracked seat occupancy sensor" inside the seat.not repairable only replaceable. Airbag will not go off if passenger in the seat.mini cooper has covered this for other models, but my car is not covered.incurring me a $1600 quote for make my car safe for passengers.

Unexpectedly, the airbag malfunction light came on.i've seen other reports of this occurring on the web.i have not had this serviced yet. It is not covered by mini's warranty.

Notified that mini would recall due to faulty sensor for airbag on may 1.now 4 months later, and still no recall.mini says they are gathering data on the affected cars, no info on when recall and repair will actually happen.

Airbag sensor light is on, indicating a problem with the passenger airbag.this is a common problem with minis and certain bmws.mini has voluntarily repaired the defect in some vehicles but is refusing to repair others.mini told me to take it to a dealer, pay for a diagnostic and they'd think about a repair.i have no faith in their willingness to provide a repair since ether have refused the repair repeatedly to other consumers. This is a common safety issue, and appears to clearly be a defect rather than an expected wearing out of the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2005 mini cooper s convertible. The contact received a notification for nhtsa campaign number: 15v205000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The contact owns a 2005mini cooper s convertible. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag warning light illuminated at engine start up. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the dealer confirmed to the contact that the occupancy sensor failed.the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 38,000 and the current mileage was 41,000.

Passenger seat occupancy sensor/mat fails which results in the passenger seat airbag being disabled. This is dangerous because the airbag will not deploy for the passenger if there is an accident. This is a common problem that costs over $1300 to fix but mini will not issue a warranty claim for it. There are thousands of other vehicles that have had this same problem but mini will not stand behind their product. This is the exact same problem as the recall issued by bmw (nhtsa campaign 13v564000).

I was told the following about my passenger airbag system.basically the computer failed and i had a crack in the passenger seat sensor.this car has only 32,000 miles and was mostly driven with no one in the passenger seat.this should not have failed with such minimal use.:replace mrs module and program, encode (mrs module failure, internalshort circuit) fail $774.06 replace passenger seat occupancy mat (passenger seat occupancy mat has microcrack on mat fault 0071)fail$874.55.

Passenger seat air bag sensor malfunction.sensor doesn't work therefore causing the passenger air bag to be disengaged.this is a none problem and well documented with this year, however, mini doesn't have a recall.the only recall is for after this year model.

When someone is sitting in the seat. Also, the light which indicates the passenger side airbag is off comes on when someone is sitting in the passenger seat.i used the same write-up on a previous complaint as the symptoms are accurate for my 2005 mini cooper s convertible, with approximately 72,000 miles.

Passenger airbag light has been on since 2013.mechanics tell me that it is a weight-sensing mat on the seat.mini recalled 2005 mini's but this one is not included in the recall.this is a very common problem with this year for this car.

The passenger detector on my passenger seat has failed. This is a known issue in mini coopers and bmws of this age. The fix is complete $1500 seat replacement at the dealer. Bmw has already recalled the parts for all the bmws where this occurs, but not the minis.

The passenger side air bag sensor turns off even though a passenger is in the seat.this issue should be covered by the latest recall notice but mini usa has not included my vehicle.

Last december my steering went out on my car. I did some research online and found that a possible class action suit was in the process. I called mini north america to discuss my findings and to see if a recall was in the works. The customer service agent stated she wasn't aware of any. I took the car to my dealer and had to have 4,000 dollars in repairs. Water pump, super charger and several bearings. I then get a letter in early june of 2013 stating that a recall was in the works and to send all my information in for possible reimbursement. I was told that i qualify and that a check was going to be cut and sent out by the end of june or early august. When the check didn't arrive, i continued to call mini north america and i keep getting the run around. I was told it was going to be late september or early october. I just called again today and now i'm told it will be cut before the new year. Can someone please put someone's hand on the fire and get this resolved?[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Around june 2008 my mini cooper s 2005 began exhibiting what appeared to be a failure to maintain consistent speed while driving at a constant rpm. I experienced slow, or sluggish acceleration while driving and the engine light would come on sporadically. I took my mini, which was still under warranty in for service to bmw/mini of san antonio and was reassured that i was experiencing normal shifting mechanics. They were also unable to detect why the engine light was coming on. I experienced these idiosyncratic issues continuously throughout the year and began to notice the car jumping higher and lower in speed during acceleration in more regular intervals. In september of 2010 the engine would lurch into gear, seconds after failing to change gears effectively. At times, the car would suddenly drop out of gear while driving. I began taking my car into a bmw/mini certified shop in austin, tx. After much time, money, and trouble, plus many visits to the mechanic, my mini cooper's condition deteriorated completely. While in busy traffic my mini lurched forward and stalled coming to a complete stop while driving before i could get it off the busy roadway. I was almost rear ended by vehicles behind mine, these drivers had to make extreme evasive maneuvers in order not to hit me, the car in front of them, or be rear ended themselves. This unsafe and hazardous incident endangered my life, and was the last for my mini, resulting in complete transmission failure in july 2011. I sought opinions on my options, shop quotes to fix my vehicle, all around $10,000. My vehicle has not been fixed or altered, it stands as it did the day of the transmission failure. It was towed from the shop to storage. My vehicle is no longer under warranty, and there are many others who have similar circumstance documented. Why was there no recall? class action lawsuits in california and new jersey.

The contact owns a 2005 mini cooper convertible s. The contact stated that coolant began to leak from the vehicle abnormally and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer replaced the thermostat which he found to be fractured. Later, the contact began to experience failures with the rear brakes.the dealer replaced the brake pads and rotors and later, the contact began to experience an abnormal rattling from the clutch. The dealer then advised that the clutch and fly wheel would need to be replaced. The dealer also advised that there was a technical service bulletin issued by the manufacturer (nhtsa item number : 10025903- power train:manual transmission) regarding replacing the clutch with a newly designed clutch and fly wheel. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 28,800.

2005 mini cooper s convertible - pending a second replacement of the power steering pump/cooling fan assembly due to failure - the whole assembly was replaced 18 months ago and the replacement fan has already stopped running, causing a severe leak of ps fluid (twice found completely empty) and resultant power steering failure. First failure summer 2008, repeat failure winter 2010.

Traveling at approximately 40mph. Finger was cut 2mm deep by defective peeling/flaking chrome accent on manual transmission shift knob. As a result, finger was bleeding and experienced a shock from the affected nerve throughout the body while vehicle was in motion. Attention to the road was lost for a moment causing me to nearly get into an accident.

When my mini cooper s convertible only had around 85,000 mile on speedometer my transmission would suddenly have difficulty going from 3rd to 4th gear and stall while going down the road and i have almost been rear ended by cars behind me not expecting me to stall. Upon researching web there are many same complaints about this model vehicle. It is a safety issue. Mini usa did not agree to fix the vehicle. I think this should be addressed as a recall before some one is killed.

Transmission upshifts and downshifts erratically and/or shifts into neutral without driver input while in motion.

The transmission in this vehicle is known to be defective by mini usa.the car is undrivable and unsafe as the transmission could fail at any time, stranding the driver or causing a fire.

After the car went for an oil change, the seat belt sensor (beeper) stopped working. Mini would not pay for this to be replaced. Said if the seat belt sensor was not working, the airbags might not deploy. Very costly repair (computer system replacement). Shouldn't safety features (required by the government) be fixed, without charge, for the life of the vehicle?

My mini cooper s conv, 2005, has been having steeering issues for some time now.it will randomly lose what seems like the power steering while i am driving!i have found that by turning the car off (if i am stopped and in area with time to turn off my car) that it works again for 10 minutes to 30 minutes. Other times i can drive for 45 minutes no problems at all. However, more often than not the steering goes out is not working as soon as i turn the car on.i k now that i have to select a date of when this happened and i am putting today's date since it happens daily. However, i want it noted it is not only today.

For the past 5 years, the power steering on our mini would go out at random times. This has happened on the freeway (at speeds of 60-70mph) and driving around town (speeds of 10-35). It would go out randomly with no warning. My wife could barely steer the car and almost got into a crash trying to turn right one day. Last weekend, the power steering went out for good. We are taking it in on monday for mini to look at. I have read countless articles of this problem and wanted to report it happening in our vehicle.

Power steering failure.

On the first day of occurrence, there was loss of power steering. Very difficult and hard steering. No warning lights or no check engine lights came on. Managed to park safely. Stopped car and turned off ignition. Waited a few minutes. Turned on ignition and normal power steering resumed. Occurred one more time about 1 hour later. Occurred multiple times in the coming days. If ignition is shut off then turned back on, it will resume normal operation. This has almost caused accidents because of the difficult steering and maintaining of lane especially on curved roads and turns.

Power steering suddenly failed resulting in near accident.upon review of this site warranty extension onpower-assist steering pump and cooling fan pump was issued.despite the extension of warranty and lack of dealer or authorized service facility in lexington, kentucky, mini refused to honor warranty unless customer towed vehicle, at customer's expense,to nearest authorized dealer which was approximately 80 miles away. Leaving warranty extension on known probable defective condition worthless. Believe investigation should be performed to determine if recall should be issued relating to power assist steering pump failures.

Bought the vehicle in feb. 2012 a few months later on several occasions 15-20 times, to date.i have lost full control of the vehicle, no steering capability. Several time has been while turning or exiting the freeway, vehicle becomes difficult to control. I have been close to causing several accidents due to the same problem.

Power steering pump comes on a short time after parked and will not shut off.have to disconnect battery in order to avoid draining power.power steering whine pronounced, power steering beginning to work intermittently.common problem among model.

Power steering quit unexpectedly.i was in a parking lot, just started the car, and had no power steering.i drove it a few miles down the road to a gas station, turned it off, and when turned back on again it worked fine.originally happened on 2/12/11 and has not recurred as of 2/22/11.

2005 mini cooper 's' convertible.the power steering will occasionally stop working while driving making it difficult to steer. If you shut off the engine and restart the car it resets and works again. It normally happens when slowing for a stop or making a turn, which you don't notice until you start moving and find you are unable to turn the car. Luckily i haven't pulled out into oncoming traffic.the dealer said it was probably the pump and they would replace it for approximately $680.

The power steering pump in my 2005 mini cooper s convertible intermittently stops working 1 to 5 times per week.there does not appear to be any pattern to it, it has happened at cold start, after warm start, hot/cold/wet/dry weather, level/sloped parking, while driving & stationary, etc.i've learned to live with it as an annoyance, until i recently had a very frightening failure that very nearly had *fatal* consequences.i was driving roughly 25 mph, the posted speed limit, in a residential area, when a young child (i estimate 4-5 years old) ran into the street from between two parked cars 5 or 6 car lengths in front of me.i slammed on the brakes (abs fully engaged) and attempted to swerve into the oncoming [empty] lane at avoid... But my steering pump was out and i could not alter my course sufficiently.i came to a stop with the child barely three feet off my front bumper!so no damage or injury, but... This failure could easily have been much, much worse!

I was leaving work late at night when i tried to drive the car out of the parking lot the steering disappeared. It was difficult to maneuver the car. I had the car at the mini dearlship earlier in the week to replace light bulbs so i called the dealership to find out where what this could be, where i could check the power steering fluid levels. They were not that helpful. Then later i looked online at all the steering complaints and called the dealership back and was told that there was a problem andmy car (vin#) would be covered for 13 years/150,000. I am reporting this because all mini's with this problem should be covered. Dealerships should check vehicles for recalls when customers call with problems. I like my dealership but i am disappointed that i had to research this dangerous problem.

Electric power steering pump has loud whine or moaning sound with only 42,000 miles on it. Fluid level is good and so far the power steering is still working. It does get louder while turning but also annoying when just idling.

While driving down straight road steering began to intermittently "tighten up" and become difficult to manage.road and weather conditions were clear and dry.next morning power steering assist failed completely while backing out of driveway, causing vehicle to almost hit a fence. Vehicle had been garaged all night at ambient temperatures. Power steering unexpectedly returned two miles later, causing driver to over-correct because of the sudden returnof power steering assist.the intermittent nature of this failure is the most concerning safety issue, as the driver is unaware that effort required to change lanes or navigate a turn may change drastically and unexpectedly. Over-correction in traffic is frightening. Vehicle has not been subjected to unusual or extreme driving conditions.

Power steering pump started working intermittently, then failed.contacted local mini dealer (midwestern auto group), who advised that i bring it in to "confirm"at the diagnostic cost of $140.when i inquired as to why i should pay a diagnostic fee when i had i identified the problem, mag service manager stated at that time that a full/partial repair by mini usa was "highly likely" if i brought the vehicle in for dealer service and paid the fee.after nearly a month of back-and-forth between mini usa, mag, and myself neither mini usa nor mag would offer any repair assistance.neither mini usa nor mag would acknowledge the nhtsa investigation, the recall in canada, or the numerous online complaints about this well-documented issue.bottom line: i experienced a "shake down" from mag and mini usa in an attempt to correct a known safety issue.deplorable practice.

Electric power steering pump failed while driving, making the car undriveable.

I had a temporary lost of power steering assist.i drove to a few blocks to stop.the problem disappeared after i restarted the car again.this happened twice before while my wife was driving a month earlier or so.this is very dangerous, i had a very hard time to steer the car and find a safe place to park.

Came home on tuesday night from my girlfriends house then in the morning my battery was dead. As confused as i was since i knew i didnt leaave any lightsor anything onwent ahead and decided to jump the car and as soon as i connected the cables i heard a noise almost like a fan noise coming from under the car. I then proceeded to open the hood and see or try and hear where the noise was coming from. Decided to lift the car up and get underneath to see where the noise was coming from and sure enough it was from inside the power steering pump. Checked fluids and was ok but for some odd reason the pump just stays on when the ignition is turned off so to prevent battery drainage i have to disconnect a battery terminal every time i need to use the car. Im requesting that miniusatake care of this being that there is a widespread problem with this issue.

Was driving on an overpass between freeways when my power steering went out without warning.i was beginning my turn, and could not control or move the steering wheel and hit the railing.cars had to dodge quickly to not hit me.turned off ignition and turned back on and it was fine - but was really shook up.continued driving to work 3 miles later and it did it again pulling into the parking lot. Later that day, started the car and once again no power steering.had it towed home, and checked it throughout the weekend, without success (to get it to a garage) then this morning it started working.drove 1/2 mile to garage, and it did it again.called bmw service and the manager acted like this was unusual andsaid to make an appointment.called another bmw and the same story.checked with my german mechanic down the street and he said that is the #1 reason he sees mini's 2005 in the stop.2nd was my convertible top, which quite ironically broke the same day as my power steering.the passenger side won't disengage.i'm looking at over $3000 to fix a car with only 42k miles on it.shouldn't these parts be recalled? i was scared for my life driving on the freeway and almost caused a major accident!

The contact owns a 2005 mini cooper s convertible. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, it was difficult to turn the steering wheel. The contact stated that the power steering assist function failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the electro hydro power steering system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v660000 (steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 22,000.

My daughter experienced complete power steering failure while she was driving her mini cooper, nearly causing a collision with an oncoming vehicle.i drove the car afterward and could not believe how hard it was to steer the car (compared to a manual steering vehicle).i called mini at their toll free number and was told that they had no recall notice from the nhtsa, therefore they had no obligation to fix this incredible defect. I hope it doesn't take a body count for the nhtsa to recall the 223,000 mini's effected by this extremely dangerous defect.

My brother was driving my 2005 mini cooper s convertible when he smelled wires burning and smoke, went to pull over and the car was hard to control.upon inspection the mechanic said that the power steer pumps electronics had caught fire and burned the adjacent parts.upon contact raulph schomp mini cooper dealer i was told that my vin number was not included in the cars being replaced for similar problems.the car just had major work done to the power steering system a year and half ago by the same dealer.spoke with the mini usa rep and was told that this was not being covered.

Drove 8 miles to work. Parked car and turned it off. Something kept running under hood. I could hear it. Sounded like a fan. When left work at end of day, battery was drained. Had to use key manually to get into car. Car would not start. Called aaa. Aaa tried to jump start the car. The guy got it started, but then it shut down while he still had the jumper cables on it. He said that wasn't good and car was not safe to drive, even if it could be started. Car was towed to my home. And the next day car was towed to mini dealership. Mini service diagnosed and found that the root cause of the problem was that the power steering pump had shorted out. Mini service replaced the power steering pump at a total cost to me of $1,162.77.

Power steering randomly completely failsat lower speeds/ no assist at all.

At random times, the power steering fails, mostly at start-up, but sometimes while driving the car.i always need to turn off the ignition, and restart the car, which seems to temporarily re-engage the power assist steering.

I was driving when i suddenly loss my power steering, making it difficult to steer the car.

Power steering pump on my daughter's car caught on fire about three (3) weeks ago while she was stopped at a red light, luckily she thought enough and turned the car off so the damage was only to the power steering pump and wiring harness .once we discovered what had caught fire we did research on how to make the repair(s) and came across the recall for 2005 mini cooper s convertibles power steering pumps, they are recalling them because they fail and sometimes catch fire. The recall is for cars produced until february 2005 and mine, according to the door sticker, was produced in march 2005 so mini will not make the necessary repairs because they say they 'fixed' the issue.once we got under the car and pulled the power steering pump off you could clearly see it was burned, the larger power steering pump connector was completely burned and melted together, we couldn't even remove the pump without cutting the wiring harness.when we got the pump off you could see the pump was burned on the inside as well so apparently there is still an issue with the power steering pumps failing and catching fire.i have been in touch with mini north america again and again they refuse to fix the issued because well, there's not an issue, again according to them.there is a class action lawsuit regarding this issue so i will researching that avenue.

2005 mini cooper s convertible with 65k miles.original owner.yesterday my power steering went out as i drove home from work.no warning sign and it was hard to turn the steering wheel and maneuver the car.i was glad it was me driving and not my wife.scary experience when driving at 65mph+ on the highway.

Bought mini cooper used from dealer just prior to going to florida for 2 wks. When almost home from florida power steering went out. My 3000 mile used car warranty had just ran out so checked on recalls, found none. But i did find out there was an investigation in progress. Continued to drive vehicle occasionally and found the steering sometimes worked and again would cut out with no warning, making it difficult to steer when not expected.then one day i came home and shut the vehicle off but the steering pump would not shut off. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to stop. When i reconnected the battery it would start right back up again. That's when i decided i needed to bite the bullet and take it in to be fixed.i reconnected the battery and drove it to a mini cooper dealer who told me it was the steering pump that was bad, that it had internal electronicsthat fail. I had them replace it for a total cost of $1072.38 and that came with a 2 yr warranty.please note ~ the vehicle had a whirring noise when i bought it that i thought was from the turbo. I found out later it was the steering pump making the noise. When the new pump was installed it was a lot quieter.

The contact owns a 2005 mini cooper s convertible. The contact stated that the electric power steering was faulty. Mini of loveland (4055 byrd dr, loveland, co 80538, (970) 292-5020) was notified of the failure, but a diagnostic appointment was not scheduled. The dealer indicated that the vehicle was excluded from extended warranty program: si m32 02 15 (steering and wheel alignment). An independent mechanic diagnosed that the power steering pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was also not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v660000 (steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 133,000.

The car ( 2005 mini cooper) was completely dead overnight. We charged the battery and a fan wouldn't turn off which must have caused the drain. We had it fixed. It was a faulty relay in the power steering pump, which had also been leaking onto the engine. Read on the internet that thousands of people are having this very issue. We spent $1,000 to fix this on a car with 40,000 miles!

Power steering pump failure resulting in hard to steer situation.

The contact owns a 2005 mini cooper s convertible. The contact observed fluid leaking from the vehicle without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the power steering hoses needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the power steering pump failed previously. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vin was invalid. The failure mileage was 70,000.

Driving approx. 15 miles - mostly interstate - to attend a friend's birthday dinner. While pulling into the parking lot, lost power steering and all indicator warning lights started flashing. I proceeded to a parking space and saw smoke pouring out from under the hood. When i released the hood i could see an orange glow at the bottom of the engine (night time). Within 30 seconds it burst into flames. A 911 call to local fire fighters was placed who responded within 15 minutes. Since there were two restaurants in the complex, employees of each one had come out with fire extinguishers and put out the fire. The car had to be towed to my work place, from my work place to another city for repairs. Only the actual repairs were covered under warranty, but not the towing or rentals. I had to rent a car for two weeks and a week after picking my car up, i had other things to go out on the car caused by the heat from the fire. (domino effect). The car had to go back into a shop where it took more than 3 weeks to get all parts in and repairs made, while i incurred yet more expense of a rental car. I am now in debt almost $3,000.00 as a directly result of this faulty system.

I own a 2005 mini cooper s convertible & noticed my power steering starting to make noise about a week ago. Now it is working very intermittently. I have noticed in doing some research that many others have had this problem. I took it to the dealer an they want to replace my power steering pump which is going to be very costly. I am to say the least a little disappointed that a car with the bmw name on it is having this many complaints.

My 2005 mini cooper s convertible had a fire in the engine compartment reportedly caused by the failure of the power steering pump.i pulled into my driveway and turned off my car.i had no problem steering the car up to that point.i got out and went into the house.my wife came inside and told me my car smelled funny and was smoking (light) under the hood.i raised the hood and smoke was coming out from under the heat shield in the rear of the engine, which is below the power steering reservoir and above the ps pump.i could hear sizzling, which i interpreted as water.i went inside to call a mechanic friend and then realized it wasn't a good idea to leave a smoking car alone.when i came outside again, the smoke had turned dark and heavier.when i reached the car, i could see a raging fire below the heat shield.i ran into my garage and returned with a fire extinguisher which i used to put out the fire.i have been told by my insurance adjuster that the pump caused the fire and they would only reimburse for the damage caused by the power steering pump, not for the pump itself.i was told that ps failure is a common problem on mini coopers of my year (as well as many others) and model.after checking the internet, i don't understand why there has not been a mfgr.'s recall and why there has not been a nhtsa investigation.this could have been very catastrophic!

Electric power steering pump failed while driving, making the car undriveable.

I have had a new problem every week with this car. I took it to the car wash just to find out that the convertible top leaks on both sides, at the 1st bend. The water was dripping at a fast pace. I had the top checked out for any problems prior to purchasing at which i was told nothing appeared to be needed. The weather stripping and top had no cracks are sign of wear. Just another headache within a month of purchase.
