Was notifiedby ford motor co 7 months ago that there was a safety hazard with the airbag system and i would be notified when the part would be available. Received a 2nd notice recently to contact the dealer and now the dealer says they cannot order parts until the takata (air bag manufacturer) bankruptcy is resolved, possibly in the spring of 2018. Takata recallat this time, i am waiting for parts to arrive at my dealership so they can replace my defective part.it has been 7 months and i'm told by my dealer it could be feb. 2018 before they see parts to repair this situation.given that only a minor front end bump could set off the passenger side airbag and potentially maim or kill someone in my car is very threatening and scary to think about.it's like driving around with an ied in the glove box!i'd like ford to step up and assist in getting replacement parts out much quicker!

(takata recall). They recommend you do not have passengers in the front seat of this vehicle due to active recall of the front passenger side airbag. This recall was in 2017. It is unacceptable that they have not fixed this issue as of today. It is not reasonable for one to not be able to have a a passenger in the front of a vehicle for over a year. They have not met the duty or standard of care owed to their vehicle owners. They have not preformed how a reasonable person would and may be negligent in their duties whether unintentional or not. Their is an implied danger that has been created and needed to be fixed. I am aware of the class action lawsuit, but this is only for someone who has taken their vehicle and had it fixed. What about those who are at risk for injury due to this defect and the recall they have offered no fix for for.to date.

I have been trying to get my defective airbag replaced since i received notice of this defect which was probably over a few years ago. I've called multiple dealerships and each time i've been told that the parts are on back order. I've read what can happen if the airbag deploys (e.g., serious injury, death) and i have to drive the car every day to work, etc. I have two small children so everyday i put my life and my children's lives in jeopardy. It's a ticking time bomb, but it isn't their lives who are at stake so they don't care. To say it's completely frustrating is an understatement.

Takata recall- after purchasing my vehicle i found out that the car was in a few previous accidents where the air bags were deployed. On the passenger side, which is the recalled side, i am worried about it exploding as my recall stated. My recall also stated that both passenger and drivers airbags , when deployed, can deploy with shards of metal and glass fragments. I am a short person generally and sit close to the wheel so i can reach everything. I also have many nieces and nephews who ride in my vehicle and i am concerned for the safety .it has been a while now and i have been calling and heard nothing about a solution for it and im wondering if there is anything i can do , aside from getting a new vehicle , that can help keep my family and i safe. As well as, how big of an impact my car can take before that thing explodes on me.

Takata recalli called ford and was basically told there were no parts avail and had no estimated time on replacement parts.this is my 6th attempt to get a replacement since the recall was issued.

2006 mercury milan.consumer writes in regards to replacement parts not available to repair airbag inflator recall notice.

Takata inflators- i have contacted advantage ford on several occasions since receiving a recall notice in july 2016. Each time i have been told that replacement parts are not available. Last week i was told that i could call ford headquarters or mercury headquarters but they didn't it would help. This car is now more than 10 years old and is situated in florida with hot weather year round. I am scared each time i drive it that i or my passenger will be injured by this unsafe airbag situation. It seems that someone should be able to apply pressure on takata to provide replacement parts or at the very least have the car manufacturers produce the replacement parts and go after takata for expenses.

Takata recall

Takata recallnothing bad has happened yet, thank god! recall was june 2016 and they said they would notify me when parts are available to fix the issue. However it is now nearly a year later and i still have not heard anything, and on owner.ford.com/tanaka it still says "status: 12 - recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available." i've been driving in fear any time i have a passenger in the front seat - knowing that if i get in an accident the airbag may explode sending metal fragments shooting into me and my passenger. How is it ok that this is left "remedy not yet available?" how is it ok to put customers in danger without fixing the issue for over a year? are there not rental cars that they can give me in the mean time? i'm tired of waiting, i'm about to move out of the state, and will be unable to receive the letter saying it is fixed. Who knows if i will ever receive a letter anyway? this is disgraceful and horrible and frightening. I will be seeking legal action unless this is fixed now.

Takata recallnow im being told that no passengers are safe in the front seat of my car until "further notice". This car has been in the recall process for quite some time and now there is no end in sight.this new notice renders my car valueless on the open market.i cannot use it safely, i cannot sell it as it carrys with it a liability that is insurmountable

Takata recall - i received a recall notice from ford motor company for the passenger frontal airbag inflator, dated july 2016.it has been over 1 year now and i have not received any follow-up information regarding replacement of this piece, and the nhtsa website states that there is still no remedy available.this flawed piece of equipment is potentially deadly, should it rupture, and it is unacceptable that it has been over 1 year and still "no remedy is available".please let me know when i can expect a replacement piece for this to be available as soon as possible.thank you.

The passenger front air bag cover on the dash is lifting up on the left side and has been like this for a while.it looks a little higher.we have been trying to have this air bag fixed since the initial recall in july 2016.we are in our mid eighties and rely on this vehicle for many dr. Appointments & hospital visits for ourselves.there is no reason we have to ride around living in fear that our airbags can't be fixed.this needs to be addressed immediately!!!please have someone contact us as soon as possible!!!we are tired of excuses from the ford company! i'm sure they knew about this issue for a long time even before the public knew.it shouldn't have to take people dying in their cars with this issue before the car companies address it!!thank you and we appreciate anything you can do to help us get this fixed!!

"takata recall"- it has been almost 2 years since the recall started.your co. Is costing me money. Because of the risk to my life and since the part is still not available, i had to buy another car. I am retired and on a fixed income and had not planned to buy a car.even though my car is a 2006, it still drives well, has new tires and a new battery. Now, i don't know what to do with it.i don't want to sell it and risk injury to another person or family.i feel like i have been mistreated. If i weren't responsible and didn't make payments, i would have had negative consequences given to me. Yet, your company is not being punished for what you have done. I am very disappointed and want some type of reimbursement, since i can't safely drive my car with my family in it! it seems like you only want to help, if or when there's an accident. Takata recall, received a post card from tk holdings explaining about the chapter 11 that was filed.,it states to contact your nearest dealership immediately to schedule a free repair. I contacted two dealerships and neither one could help because first they didn't know anything about the postcard until, they started getting calls about it. Second, they don't have the parts, one said they wouldn't know who to contact to get the parts.so it sounds like to this was very disorganized through this company and mercury ford , no communication to their dealers. What do i do now to get the airbag and get it installed.. The dealership near me said, they are sorry butthey don't know what to say and they were sorry but they don't have any information about this and i was the 10th person that called them today about this post card. They said they don't have the parts and the parts have not been made for my vehicle .

Takata recall - it's been nearly 2 years since my vehicle was recalled and i still don't have a replacement part for my vehicle.ford doesn't seem to be taking this safety recall very seriously.

Takata recall, i received a letter on july 2016from ford abouta recall on my vehicle for the airbag. I have been waiting patiently to be notify that the parts are available. Also back in 2011, the summers were very hot. When i walked to my car after work.. I noticed the dashboard on the passenger side was bubbled up, down by the bottom half of where the airbag is. I took it to the dealership where i get my oil changes and other up keeps on the vehicle and they told me to contact ford . Ford said to me that my car was no longer under warranty and there is nothing they can do. I took it to the dealership and they said , they could try to fix it but they couldn't guarantee that it would work. They said it would cost about $300.00 because they would have to take the glove box out and deactivate the airbag and cross are fingers that it holds once they basically glue it. Well, wheni got this recall, it put me to thinking if this recall had anything to do with this bubbling up like it did. I take very good care of my vehicles and get pretty good trade-ins for them , now because of this manufacture defect or possibility having to do with the recall. The trade-in will be docked because of this defect that i had nothing to do with. People that ride on the passenger side ask me if the airbag will erupt while they are sitting there. I tell them , that i was informed that it probably wouldn't. (encouraging words, right). I'm sending you the letter i received about the recall back on july 2016, that i'm still waiting on and also pictures of my dashboard where the airbag is,. I know you will be surprised like me, when i walked to my car after work to see my dashboard bubbled up by the heat and airbag.

Takata recall nothing has happened (yet!), but i wish to formally complain about ford/mercury dragging their feet on fulfilling the demands of the airbag recall which was issued a year-and-a-half ago. They are still claiming that we (owners) will be notified by mail when the remedy/part is available, but the delay is because they have spent so much time and effort trying to weasel out of their obligation, asking (and recently being denied by) the nhtsa for a pass, while other manufacturers like nissan and honda have been much more concerned with the safety of vehicle owners, and proactive with their recall obligations. I cannot afford a new vehicle and so i have to live with the fact that every time my family or i use this car, our very lives are at risk, because ford apparently feels their bottom line outweighs the potential cost of a few wrongful death suits.

"takata recall" i was notified back in 2014 that i had a takata airbag inflator on the passenger side that was needing to be fixed. I contacted ford and made an appointment to come in. When i got there, they said that they did not have parts to do it and said that i would be receiving a letter in the mail from ford once that part came in. I called approximately 6 months later because i had never received anything in the mail and they said they would check into it and get back with me. I never heard back from the ford dealership. I was working with buckeye ford in london, oh.i would have thought they would have contacted me by now.

Radio light went out and will not come back onhad trouble getting the key outand steering wheel locked.

Turned my car on one morning and a wrench indicator light came on followed by the check engine light upon driving to my repair shop to get problem looked at noticed a significant decrease in acceleration power and vehicle was in "limp mode" my mechanic told me. Looked up the issue and found it was a common issue with my make and model and that a complaint has been submitted for a recall of the throttle body on my vehicle and many others so i am submitting my complaint to help get this issue put into recall status as the part is fairly expensive and i don't believe we as a consumer should have to pay out of pocket for a defect from faulty parts installed on the vehicle at the factory.

I got into the car with my one month old granddaughter and her mom and my son, the car hesitated to start, got on the expressway and tried to pick up speed and the car goes only to 55 speed and it don't pick up so i had to get off the expressway with my family because the car wasn't acting right, .then the next thing i know the check engine light came on and the airbag came on and that tool bar on the left hand side of the dash board came on.as well as the check engine light, this is a 2006 mercury milan premier , i heard a lot of clicking while i was driving back home, when i tried to turn the car hesitate and another car almost hit me and my family and one month old granddaughter. I reach out to ford and was told that they didn't have any recall in the system for my car . I don't know what to do this is so wrong , these are some of the codes that has come on the car as well p0403, p0161,p0155,p0141,p0135,p0102, p0020,p0010,p0179,p1489,p0443.

Put my car into park and my key refused to come out of the ignition.i tried numerous times to put my car in park/drive to see if the ignition will unlock, but it is not communicating that it is in park (steering wheel will not lock, i also can't turn the key backwards and put into auxiliary mode.it wouldn't be a bad thing if i didn't live in the city.besides the fact that the stupid drivers side door latch is busted too which is a security issue along with a safety issue.can't a consumer rely on a car manufacture to issue parts that don't break or malfunction... I see online that lots and lots and lots of people have this issue... As this is a major concern, why is there no recall?why should i have to pay out of pocket to get this fixed when it is a known issue?maybe its time to buy a chevy.

Had air bag replace april 8 2019 recall. But air bag icon stays on. Dealer who did work wouldn't fix. Saying it'snot part of recall. So how do i known this new air bag working properly

While driving in sub-zero temperatures engine sounded horrible called for a tow to village ford kept vehicle for 3 weeks then said need new engine but warranty voided because engine severely deprived of oil. Service tech said not correct because there was oil in it asked for my oil change receiptsi had 4 receipts 2 from oil change shop and 2 from my brotherford would not accept oil changes done by my brother allowing them to say that i did not change oil enough not maintaining the vehicle properly voided my warrantysouthgate lm said i needed new engine and damage was caused by a camshaft seizing inside the engine due to the vehicle engine timing being offoil in the vehicle appears very dirty and unfortunately is the culprit of the timing being offi did change the oil but ford chose not to recognize two of my changesthere was never any indicator lights on my dashboard such as a check engine or an oil lamp indication to warn that the oil is low or that the engine is having trouble (as in trouble getting oil) car has been in a ford shop for nearly 6 weeks by the time i get it backsouthgate lincoln mercury will replace the entire engine and all associated parts for which i will be charged $6000 00 meanwhile i have no assurance that this will not happen again since there was no early indication of troublei have never been told by ford nor do i see it in any of their paperwork that they will not count an oil change as valid if it is not done at a service shopthis engine failure caused a large risk to me and my three children because with the record-breaking cold temperatures we could have suffered hypothermia or frostbite very quickly had i not stopped the car in a subdivision where we took shelter in a homewe could have suffered catastrophic harm had i pulled out into oncoming traffic at the time the engine started to sound bad and lose power.

As i was trying to pick up speed from 35 mph my car started to slow down an my check engine light came on. I immediately took it the mechanic to get the diagnostic test ran on it. It showed that i had a bad ignition coil and spark plugs. I bought the coil from ford and when i got it put in my car 3 minutes later that same coil i bought exploded again! ima mechanic called ford they said it was a recall on this cars pcm. I've read about this problem from numerous people. Ford needs to do something about this!!!

Started car for a drive after oil change/ disconnect battery for terminal cleaning and reconnect. Upon acceleration, could not get car to shift unless let off gas. Shifts hard, did not shift 3 and 4 gear until acceleration of at least 55 mph, then 70 in 4th gear. On highway seemed to want to slow down. Upon parking, let it idle. Car flashed engine light, wrench and curvy road. Idling was rough, as if vacuum was not working. Turned car off and then on. Wrench disappeared and curvy road but engine light on. Checked codes. Only threw one code not related to problem. Unable to drive this way. So many complaints but no recalls. Never buying a ford again. Looks like time for foreign car.

The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 139,000.

Had to have vehicle towed to repair shop.starter was burned out, part was replaced.check engine light came on and codes read throttle body.i have very subtle issues with the acceleration of my vehicle, but this is the 2nd throttle body code to pop up in the last two years.i assume that it will soon be a problem.seems to be a very common issue with fusions/milans.the only thing more common is the door handle breaking.funny thing is that i got a recall for the floor mat that does not even cause problems.part should be covered.going to try cleaning it, hoping for the best.

When switching lanes on a highway at 45 mph, attempted to accelerate but car which is an automatic would not shift.had to get to shoulder to get car slowed down and get it to shift into gear.after that incident it would only drive in the lower drive gear not in the normal drive gear.after car had been parked for 30 minutes, the car would work in normal drive gear but still did a hard pop to shift gears with a hard acceleration. Mechanic determined that the transmissionwill go into neutral and than pop into gear.ford is aware of issue as had issued a technical service bulletin on correcting the issue.a transmission with only 70000 miles should not be shifting into neutral by itself which creates a potential for an accident especially on a highway that may not have shoulders for the driver to move its now slow vehicle out of traffic.

Was driving down the highway at 75 mph with cruise control set. The wrench light and traction control light came on , cruise control turned off and lost power and speed. I had to pull off into the ditch to avoid an accident and drive down the shoulder to a rest stop. I turned off the car and let it sit for for 5 minutes and the turned it back on and it ran fine. After reading other issues like mine i'm thinking it may be the throttle body or traction control sensors.

Passenger inside door handle broke and needed to be replaced.cd player broke and i am the only one who uses the car.the emissions light came on and a faulty thermostat needed to be replaced....all to the tune of hundreds of dollars.i purchased the extra protection insurance but of course none of this was covered.never would buy a mercury again.

Plastic headlight lenses that deteriorate/cloud and reduce light passing through the lens.resulting in reduced visibility during night time driving. Are manufacturers required to have life of vehicle lens?what happened to glass lenses?no recalls for clouded lenses?very costly to replace or repair. Are you missing something right in front of your eyes?i see this on more cars than i can count.many manufacturers, models and years. Can you help millions of present and future auto owners?

What is wrong? my milage is only 12.5 mpg average and not like your advertisment said this morning 29 mpg! this is grossly misleading.thanks for your prompt answer and help.

Vehicle is a 2006 mercury milan v-6 premier purchased in september 2009 with less than 25,000 miles on the vehicle.according to car fax sheet, no accidents, no problems with car.drove off lot electronic reader indicated 23 mpg and 27 mpg average.one month ago mpg went down to 16.5 and mpg av 18.5!!!then went back up a bit to 18.5 mpg and now it is again 16.5 mpg.i am furious and will bring back to colonial nissan in feasterville where i bought my car.huge mpg discrepancy between the us epa mpg and the current horrible mpg worse than my 1993 nissan maxima which is 20 mpg!is it the ethanol in the gas?is it a problem with the gas/air ratio?also, noticed pedal acceleration issue.lately not smooth acceleration... Can push pedal and no change in acceleration for too long a time.what is going on????please investigate this fraud.thank you.if it is simply an adjustment to the software then i'm okay with that but it the mpg is this bad i'm trading it in...

The cars stumbles when you accelerate every time. I have taken back to dealer twice.they say this is the way the car should act. I disagree very much. I have almost had three wrecks due to poor acceleration.

The contact owns a 2006 mercury milan.while driving 65 mph, the fuel pump light illuminated on the instrument panel and the vehicle began to lose power simultaneously.the contact pushed the fuel reset button and the vehicle was able to resume normal operation.the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer.the current and failure mileages were 51,000.updated 08/28/09. *ljin order to reset the fuel button, the consumer must turn the vehicle off, then hit reset.updated 09/03/09.

I bought the car 4000 miles ago and noticed the problem as soon as i drove the car. The car hesitates when you accelerate from 0. My wife has complained to me every day. I have taken back to dealer twice. They say it if due to the throttle body non cable wire system the have just started to use this year. We have almost had two wrecksdue to no response. I have written explanation from dealer.

I was driving down i75s in very slow traffic. As i was approaching am accident. I noticed the car stalling or jerking a little. The wrench sensor came on in the car. I got over 2 lanes of traffic to the shoulder & checked the car. I didn't see any obvious problems so i turned it off waited a few seconds & started it back up. The wrench light went off but the check engine light came on. I got off the exit & turned around to come home. The car did fine. I took the car to my local ford dealer for a diagnostic test & they said the throttle body was failing & would eventually leave me stranded. I am trying to get this issue taken car of soon. I've seen several other people with the same issues as mine online with nc cars & would like to know if there is any recall info regarding this subject. I haven't been able to work bc this is my only car & im scared to get stranded.

The contact owns a 2006 mercury milan. The contact stated that she was unable to lock the driver's side door with the remote.she could unlock the door but she had to lock it manually. In september 2010, the passenger side door would not lock and the passenger could not open the door using the handle to get out. She was able to open it from the outside. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where the contact was informed that the handles and door locks needed to be replaced. The contact called the manufacturer who offered to assist with 10% of the repair costs. The current mileage was approximately 51,000. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

Interior door handles have a tendency to snap, with no indication that they are weak or fragile.this has happened to me personally twice and to others many time, according to online forums for this vehicle.there is no available repair beyond replacement of the door handles.obviously, in an accident this would limit one's ability to safely exit the vehicle.

Defective latch door on mercury milan 2006 . 26,000 miles.front passenger door opened by itself while driving in a shopping center althoughelectronically latched .we taped the door to the frame of the vehicle and drove to a dealer . This car is driven by one person"solo" very rarely the passenger side is used. Upon driving to the nearest dealer i t was found thelatch was broken , and apparently the replacement parts were red flagged. I t means that the newer part that arrived two weeks later was redesigned for this model car and the older part were no longer in use..i do believe that would be extremely dangerous that a door to open while driving on a highway involving a passenger and also involving other vehicles in parallel lanes.

I am unable to open driver side door from the inside of car. The handle remains in the unlocked position and can only be opened from the outside of the car. The car can't be locked with the remote, only with the key. In the event there was an emergency, the driver would not be able to get out of the car unless they could open the window and then open the door from the outside. This problem appears to be prevalent with the 2006 models both ford and mercury. Just search the internet. It appears the resolve is to have the inside door handle replaced. There have been recalls on other ford models for similar problems but not the fusion or milan, which have the most complaints seen on the internet. The dealer will fix the problem for a fee but it seems like this is not due to normal wear and tear. My vehicle has only 44,344 miles, is well cared for and it is evident that others have experienced the same problems with much less mileage. I am surprised that this issue has not been addressed. I have called ford motor company and they have informed me that if customers do not report the problems directly then there is no action to take care of such serious and potentially dangerous problems, so i am reporting my problem. I hope to see this become a recall issue as the dealer i spoke with informed me that these handles break very easy and with no warning leaving a passenger or driver stuck inside the car and this could be a matter of life or death in an emergency or accident.

Driver door latch isbroken. Have to roll the window down and open the door from the outside. Very inconvenient!

The key to my mercury milan will not come out of the ignition.i take very good care of my cars, and one day i was simply unable to get the key out after parking. I called my husband, and upon his suggestion i tried turning the key on and off (gently), shifting in and out of park, and turning the steering wheel, etc., but to no success.as the locking mechanism (fob) is actually on the key, i had no way of locking the vehicle which is a big safety issue on a university campus at night.the dealership is not open yet, but i will take it in on monday.until then, i am left with a car that cannot be locked without an extra key, and if someone breaks into my vehicle they need only to turn the key and drive away.this is enormously unnerving to me and my family.

Interior door handles are breaking.resulting in the inability to lock those doors.

Throttle defect -loss of power/acceleration - and - takata airbag recall.vehicle had not been driven more than 1-2 miles, and has been parked since may due to previous airbag warning and subsequent recall. Upon starting the vehicle on 10/23/16 to move it to wash it, the vehicle exhibited extremely limited acceleration and loss of power regarding acceleration, & then sudden acceleration. Car was parked along the curb, and when started, the orange wrench light came on. Upon attempting to drive it, the vehicle experienced extremely limited power/acceleration. It took a considerable distance to reach 30 mph. Upon reaching this speed on the highway, the vehicle accelerated very rapidly. Returned vehicle home and parked it immediately.additionally, we received the takata airbag recall letter nearly 5 months ago, and there are still no parts available. Vehicle has less than 91, 000 miles.

Vehicle automatic transmission will attempt to downshift to lower gear on an upward hill or grade. Without warning, transmission disengages, slips, and suddenly jerks into gear causing the vehicle to lunge forward, sometimes forceful enough to possibly lose control. Many other ford vehicle models were also affected. Ford issued a technical service bulletin #08-24-1 in 2008 about the known problem, but will do nothing about it after warranty expiration.

Window don't wortr window

Well we were driving through the appalachian mountains on the highway, we went to pass a car that was slow. We stepped on the accelerator and it tried to shift into overdrive (because everyone if flying through there). But, as that happened the transmission slipped and sent the rpms to a really scary area where we thought it was going to blow up. Luckily, they came back down but as we would drive until it stopped. A couple months later we figured out if when that happened if we pulled over turned the car off let it sit for a minute then turn it back on and it would work fine for a while then. So, to me it almost seems like its a computer issue but its not because we went to an as-e certified shop and had the computers flashed then reprogrammed and it still does it while driving.

Transmission is slipping, car is bucking and sometimes the engine slips to a reduced speed.i have to take my foot on and off the accelerator several times before the speed will increase. This is very dangerous during rush hour.

The first incident my car was bucking and shaking.i took to dealer and they replaced the computer that ran the transmission and 3 coils.now at 77,000 it again is having slipping issues with the transmission.these issues seem to happen at random times, but usually between 40 and 50 mph.when you put your foot on the gas to accelerate from 40-50mph there is a loud banging sound when the transmission slips and you lose acceleration.you have to take your foot off the gas and try repeatedly again to get the car to accelerate.i almost got rear-ended by a tractor trailer when i attempted to change lanes, but could not accelerate due to the slipping problem. It took it to mechanic who had the car for 2 weeks and couldn't find the problem.mechanic took it to ford dealer and they said they put on computer diagnostics and couldn't find a problem.i have found countless other reports on the internet of people who have the same problem and even people who have reported either having to drive off the highway due to the lack of acceleration and also of people who have gotten into accidents due to this problem of not being able to accelerate.this is a very dangerous situation to be in on the highway - not being able to accelerate!!!!!i'm worried about getting in an accident and/or getting killed.

While driving at 40-50mph and then trying to accelerate to pass or go uphill the transmission would cluck out of gear and then slam back in violently. It was so violent that it snapped the transmission torque mount. When it does this the car lunges forward with loss of power and then snaps back when it slams back into gear.i took it to a transmission specialist and after consulting with sonnax technical support, the only solution is to replace the valve body and update the pcm/tcm with the latest software. However, they did say that there was no guarantee that this wouldn't happen again because aisin/ford have not figure out how to fix the issue with the valve body, they keep throwing updates at the problem but buy then damage has already been done and ford wont do anything about it. This is not just a consumer complaining, this is a consumer that believes that this is a safety issue and aisin/ford should step up and recall this valve body and fix the issue at no cost to the consumer because they knew that there was a problem with that transmission but ignored it and kept throwing updates at it instead of doing the right thing and recalling it and fixing it. I should not have to pay to fix a faulty part with something that is not guaranteed to work. Ford step up and do the right thing.

The contact owns a 2006 mercury milan. While operating the vehicle, the air bag sensor illuminated intermittently. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. Also, while driving, the vehicle would not immediately accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed and the transmission would slip when shifting gears. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 84,000.

While getting on the highway car stalled would not pick up speed nearly causing an accidentwas told i need a new tcm and pcm and will require coil replacement. According to maintenance schedule transmission flush and fill due at 90,000.

Transmission problem. Wrench light comes on and car decelerates from 55 mph to 5 mph.

The contact owns a 2006 mercury milan. The contact statedthat while decelerating from 30 mph, the transmission knocked and slipped. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The test results showed a defect valve body on the transmission. The dealer replaced the valve body. 44,000.

I was driving down the street when my car begin to a lose speed and the check engine light came on and a little wrench so i took it to the shop and i was told that it was the throttle body and i had it replaced and no the check engine light and wrench are back on and i took it back to the ford dealership and was told that ford has a recall on the throttle body that they use in the ford fusion and the milan and fusion are basically the same car and i don't want to have to shell out another 300.00 for a part that's no good they should really do a recall on the milan throttle body as well.

I had to replace the brake booster,cv boots, master cylinder rotors and brakes. All to the tune of 2,000. I had no warning. No lights in the dash came on or anything. I was going down a hill and all of a sudden there were no brakes. I have had cars and drove them for over 200,000 miles and i have never had to replace all this stuff on a car. This mercury has cost me so much money. Its not like its a mercedes or bmw. Nothing on this car is cheap to get fixed. I have replaced the brakes over 20 times and the car is only 6 years old. I see why they stopped making them.

Hard shifting between gears from 30 mph to 60 mph. Have to pull over sometimes. Very dangerous whenentering the freeway or needed acceleration or reduction in speed in traffic situations. Have had ford update computer with no results.

The vehicle is a 2006 4dr mercury milan. While i accelerate there is a thumping sound which makes the vehicle jump. While applying the brakes at times there is a thump/jerk of the vehicle while applying the brakes.

The contact owns a 2006 mercury milan. While attempting to stop the vehicle by depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal traveled all the way to the floor. The contact mentioned that the brake pedal was very soft when attempting to brake on an uneven road or when braking abruptly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic on several occasions where the brakes were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

The contact owns a 2006 mercury milan. While driving approximately 55 mph, the brake pedal traveled to the floor when it was depressed. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact stated that the failure occurred for approximately two years, but the vehicle would eventually stop. The last failure was the worst of them all. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

In more than one instance the brakes have suddenly gone "soft", making it very difficult to break. One time the driver went over a bumpy area in the road and two other times it occurred when the roads were wet. The most recent incident resulted in rear-ending another car. In the most recent incident, the driver was heading north on governor's square boulevard towards e. Magnolia drive in tallahassee, fl.it was raining lightly and the roads were wet.the driver was within the posted speed limit of 35 mph.as the driver approached the intersection, the light was red.when the driver hit the brakes the pedal went "soft" and she had to push it as hard as possible to continuing braking. Thoughthe car was slowing, it was not able to stop before the reaching other cars at the intersection. The result was that the car rear-ended another car which then pushed into another car in front. The drivers of the 2 other vehicles stopped, police came, and a crash report was issued.we determined it would be best to leave the car parked until it could be determined if the brakes would recover.when we returned the following day, the brakes appeared to be functioning properly, but in an abundance of caution, the driver is not driving the car.in the previous 2 occurrences of the brake problems, we brought the car to an auto repair shop. The first time, no problems could be found (date could be provided with auto records). The second time (around may 2017), it was diagnosed as a master cylinder and that was part was replaced and the repair completed.between the first and second incident, the brake system was completely redone as regular maintenance on the car.so, the correction work performed and regular maintenance, were not successful in addressing the issue.

While driving if the anti lock brake system is activated by a slick road surface, the brake pedal subsequently goes to the floor for several subsequent applications.we normally have to pull over and pump the brakes repeatedly to get the pedal back to normal.the brakes work normally during all other normal use.

My break paddle is different than other days, is hard to break from a short distance. Feels like is doesn't want to stop.

Window don't wortr window

Pulling into parking space going 10 to 15 mph.brake pedal went all the way to floor.tried again to stop. Brakes held the 2nd time.local ford dealership came to lot and picked up the car.ran diagnostics on car and could find no problem with braking system.

When i came to an intersection, my anti-lock brakes kicked in and malfunctioned causing the pedal to go to the floor and i lost braking power. I pushed even harder on the pedal and it seemed like i had brakes but no power to the brake system. I shut off the vehicle, pumped the brakes twice and restarted. The pedal went back to normal and i was able to brake fine.

My car did not stop when brake was applied resulting in a crash into the car that was in front of me.both cars were getting ready to enter the main road from a side street. I was starting to proceed and we had to stop and wait for oncoming traffic when i hit my brakes it did not stop before i hit the car. Recall # 19s54

Nhtsa recall number: 19v904 applies to my vehicle and is now over a year old. The manufacturer has yet to issue a remedy. This is far too long for a recall to be in place and still not have a fix. Furthermore, the vehicle now has a second recall, 21v158. How long will this all take?

Brake pedal goes to floor, extremely unsafe, very poor stopping ability

I had to replace the brake booster,cv boots, master cylinder rotors and brakes. All to the tune of 2,000. I had no warning. No lights in the dash came on or anything. I was going down a hill and all of a sudden there were no brakes. I have had cars and drove them for over 200,000 miles and i have never had to replace all this stuff on a car. I see why they stopped making them.

The contact owns a 2006 mercury milan. The contact stated while driving 15 mph and depressing the brake pedal to the floor, the vehicle failed to stop. The contact stated that the abs warning light was illuminated. The contact stated the vehicle rolled to a stop. The contact was made aware of nhtsa campaign number: 19v904000 (service brakes, hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, murray's ford lincoln (3007 blinker pkwy, dubois, pa 15801; (800) 371-6601) where it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact experienced the failure intermittently. The manufacturer had not been informed of failure.the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Vin tool confirms parts not available. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.

When diving on any road in winter conditions the back end starts to wiggle side to side even with new tires 15 mph and up no matter what you do rear end goes left to right back and forth very uneasy feeling like you have no control makes other drivers nervous seeing it there's gotta be something done about it with how many claims of this happening too many people spending too much money and still left with the same problem i have a family me my wife and 5 kids just on my income i can't afford any money for guessing games it's [xxx] stop playing around please before people start crashing and getting seriously hurt or dead.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Key wont come out of ignition and car not entirely in park*cw

My power steering failed as i was pulling out of a parking space. I heard a faint noise like a marble dropping onto a surface and rolling as i started the car. I quickly realized i was not able to steer the car. I had the car towed to my mechanic. He informed me that the bolt on the idler pulley broke, and part of this bolt fell into the engine. When i asked him how this could happen, he informed me that he believed it was due to the faulty design - placing too much pressure on this bolt, causing it to eventually break in two. They had to take the alternator off to recover the piece of the bolt that fell into the engine. The idler pulley was then replaced. I believe that if this had happened while i was driving, especially at a high speed, it would have caused a very serious if not fatal accident.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2006 mercury milan. The contact stated that a bump was on the dashboard over the location of the passenger side air bag. The air bags and the wiring were not exposed. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to morrie's minnetonka ford (13400 wayzata blvd, minnetonka, mn 55305, (952) 546-5441), but the cause of the failure was not determined. The contact was informed by a service technician that the dashboard repair would cost approximately $3,000. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 17v024000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer stated that parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

Driver's side door handle broke in the process i dislocated my finger.door will not lock from inside or outside.only way out is to either open the window (which is nearly impossible in michigan winters) or pull the lock open further at the same time that i pull the door handle.i have broken countless fingernails on my left hand because of this.the door pieces are so flimsy, you can tell that they are made out of very, very cheap plastic.recall?not only is this a nuisance, but it is a very high security issue if needing to get out of the car in a hurry.

My passenger back door handle broke off. It is very seldom that anyone rides in my back seat. I am single and haveno children so the handle should not have broken.

The contact owns a 2006 mercury milan. The contact stated that the front driver and passenger doors could not be locked. The locks were able to be engaged but would unlock immediately and independently. The vehicle was not inspected or repaired. The failure mileage and the current mileage was 85,000.

The contact owns a 2006 mercury milan. The door handle on the rear driver side was cracked. The contact was unable to unlock the driver's door from inside the vehicle; she had to roll the windows to unlock the door. The contact called an authorized dealer who stated that they would needed to diagnose the failure. She also called the manufacturer but was told that because the vehicle had no open recalls, they could offer no assistance. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000. The current mileage was approximately 53,000.

My driver's side inside door handle broke. I was trying to get out of the car after parking it but couldn't. I had to roll down the window and open the door using the outside door handle.this is a real safety problem and since this isn't an isolated event, (notice the number of complaints and the number of multiple repairs/replacements) ford should replace them or upgrade them to something more reliable. At some point someone will be injured or worse because they weren't able to exit their car quickly.

"takata recall" -received recall notice dated july 2016... But it stated that a 2nd notice/letter will be sent when parts become available and then can contact a dealer for repair... Meanwhile, now whenever i turn the car on, the airbag light comes on that i have to turn the ignition off and on again, hoping the airbag light doesn't show...and the fear that this airbag will explode and can actually kill you is so stressful.. Please please expedite these airbag replacement/repairs so they can be done sooner.it is now january 2017 and this is a daily occurrence.

Pulled into a parking lot with my son in the front passenger seat.shut off the engine and attempted to pull the driver door handle to exit the vehicle.it (the handle) broke in half and was unable to exit the vehicle quickly or safely.i began to panic as i felt trapped.so i rolled down the power window for air and to calm down.before i was able to think clearly and try opening the door with the exterior handle from the inside, i exited the vehicle through the driver window. This is clearly a safety issue as the handles are a chronic problem on all 4 interior doors.someone will need to exit their vehicle quickly. If this happens they are slowed down if not trapped inside.how many complaints will it take to make this a recall issue? ford has made no effort to correct this problem and re installs the same defective door handles at the dealers.this shows a lack of due diligence on ford motor companies part.many ford fusion & mercury milan owners have had the same problem happen on the replacement handles also.

Operator door handle broken pawl spring tab, door may open while driving

My car did not stop when brake was applied resulting in a crash into the car that was in front of me.both cars were getting ready to enter the main road from a side street. I was starting to proceed and we had to stop and wait for oncoming traffic when i hit my brakes it did not stop before i hit the car. Recall # 19s54

"door handles" - arrived at work and when ipulled on driver's side door handle to exit car, there was a loud click sound and handle wouldn't work.. Felt loose.i had to turn the car back on, roll the window down, stick my hand out the window to pull on the exterior door handle to open the door.it's been like this since october and difficult to deal with in this brutal wisconsin winter.ford should pay for repair since the many reports about this situation makes it a defect on ford cars, which is also a glaring safety issue if it hampers exiting vehicle in an emergency.i am a senior citizen on limited income and can't afford to pay for repairing these defects.this is an every day occurrence.please help.

I have a 2006 mercury milan and i have had to replace the driver's door handle twice. Once was under warranty due to the "chrome" peeling off. The second time it was replaced the door handle broke and i ended up paying $54 for a new plastic handle. I have also had the passenger side door handle to break in the same spot and had to replace it and that cost me $35 at the time due to me working for a local ford company. I strongly feel that this is a safety hazard because if the vehicle caught on fire or you had an accident and the handle happens to break at the same time you would have to roll the window down to open the handle from the outside or crawl to the passenger side to get out. Anyone of larger size would have trouble crawling to the passenger side to get out of the vehicle. I also feel that ford should have to recall these handles and put something with higher quality in that will not break. I personally foresee this being a lawsuit waiting to happen.

The drives inside door handle broke, it will no longer open the door. I have to keep the car running, roll the window down, stick my hand out the window to open the door, from the outside then keep the door open before i can remove the key.

Door handle on rear passenger side broken off at 40k, son unable to exit the vehicle.

The interior door handles are breaking.my rear passenger side interior door handle broke about a year ago.i didn't think anything of it.this week my front passenger side interior door handle broke.because of this my front passenger side door will not lock.i did research online and there are many cases of this happening.the door handles are cheap plastic that break easily with regular use.

Interior door handles are breaking.resulting in the inability to lock those doors.

I was sitting in my car and i was about to get out and when i tried to open the driver side door the door handle broke so now i have to roll my window down to open the door from the outside and the handles on the rear door are starting to break also.

The plastic interior door handles broke without even touching them.both front handles broke within a week of each other.i didn't know the front passenger side was broken until my wife asked me to get out of the car to let her out on her side.and then approximately a week later the driver's side interior handle broke also.now neither door can be opened from the inside.the window needs to be rolled down and the outside handle needs to be used.when we bought the car (used) the rear driver's side interior handle plastic was broken and we knew this.even broken you can still use it to open the rear door.i was in the drivers seat when the driver's interior handle broke.i was parked, and i heard a click before i tried opening my door from the inside and the door would not open.there is definitely a big problem with these cheap plastic door handles that ford motor company needs to address.three out of four interior handles are broken.it is truly a safety issue if you cannot exit your car using the interior door handles.

The inside front passenger door handle broke from under the door panel and became inoperable. This required the inside door handle to be replaced on or about 10/2009. Car was purchased new in oct. 2006, had less than 30,000 miles and was rarely occupied by anyone other than the driver i.e. The front passenger door was rarely used. Since then, both inside rear door handles are becoming difficult to operate and will most likely require replacement in the very near future.on or about 9/15/2014, the front inside passenger door handle which was previously replaced again became inoperable and had to be replaced on 10/2/2014. The front driver inside door handle broke and became inoperable on or about 9/30/2014 and was replaced also on 10/2/2014. The handles appear to be of very poor quality and do not hold up at all. If the rear doors were used more frequently, it would be necessary to replace them also at this time. Current car mileage is 92000 miles.

Taka recall and throttle body when driving the car at normal speed than i come to a stop the car will not excel any faster than 2 or 3 miles per hour. Or driving on hwy it slows down to the speed of 2 or 3 miles. Cant use the speed control because it puts it into the 2 or 3 miles. If you stop and turn off car it resets it self and runs normal till it does it again.

While driving my 2006 mercury milan on 65mph highway engine started sounding like it was reving up. The speed of the vehicle slowed down drastically. A small warning light that look like a wrench came on. After shutting engine off i restarted vehicle and made it home with light off. Now each time i start to drive anywhere wrench light comes back on and engine seems to rev up and unable to increase speed. Vehicle is also idling fast. I've noted per onine conversation this is a common complaint with mercury milan vehicles. Uncertain if this is recurring issue as i've owned car less than 30days.

My vehicle sometimes stalls in motion or it will suddenly jerk forward when accelerating. This incident also occurs when accelerating to high speeds, such as getting on the freeway.the speed varies as it has also occured in town driving.it has gotten to the point where the only way to fix this problem is to turn off the engine and then turn it back on.

While driving my car.a tool light came on and my car lost all acceleration and dropped to 5mph in the middle of traffic. A car nearly hit me from behind.

We were going up a hill on the interstate at 70mph when the engine suddenly lost power.i'm told it went into limp mode.there had been no warning of a problem.

The contact owns a 2006 mercury milan. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated to start. The contact also mentioned that the vehicle independently surged forward when depressing the brake pedal and excessive force was required. In addition, the contact mentioned that the accelerator pedal was depressed repeatedly but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where a tune up was performed but the failure recurred. On another occasion, the contact stated that while reversing at 5 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 99,000.

Car was parked in my driveway.tried to start vehicle, battery failed and unable to recharge.removed failed battery replaced with new battery, started car and wrench and engine light came on.unable to accelerate vehicle, drives 5 miles per hour.online chats speak of failed throttle body, one post states there is a recall but i do not find in on the nhtsa website.did find the airbag recall with no solution yet.please advise.

It's the throttle control, kicks down to 5mph,orange wrench stays lit

The contact owns a 2006 mercury milan. While driving various speeds, the vehicle went into limp mode and the speed suddenly decelerated to under 20 mph. When the failure occurred, the speed would not increase past 20 mph when depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the electronic throttle body was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000...updated 06/27/17 *as
