Takata recall waiting on parts

Air bag light came on at erratic times. Took it to ford dealer, it turns out the internal fault with restraint control module. This repair will cost almost $900 to repair a safety item that is not a worn part but a electrical module that deploys the airbag. I find it difficult to believe that such an item is the owners responsibility. If it is an item that wears, yes, mechanical, yes but this is a module that is designed for the emergency deployment of the safety airbags and ford holds no responsibility for the failure.mileage and age should not come into play on this issue. I pray my family remains safe, i cannot afford this cost.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated that the front passenger air bag light remained illuminated while the passenger was seated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for the failure. The air bag sensor was replaced, but the air bag light remained illuminated. The vehicle will be taken back to the dealer. The failure mileage was 14 and the current mileage was 7,290. Updated 07/08/11*ljthe consumer stated the vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, with no satisfactory outcome. Updated 08/29/11

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact statedwhen the passenger seat was occupied with a person weighing between 120 and 135 pounds, the air bag sensor would not detect the passenger and would not engage. The dealer advised that they were aware of the failure but could not provide a remedy for the failure. The contact was concerned with the air bag not deploying in the event of a crash. The vehicle was not repaired.the failure was 6,500updated 10/0810the dealer replaced the passenger seat sensor. However, the problem continued.ford stated the system was working as designed.passengers weighing under 135 lbs may not be recognized by the air bag system. Updated 10/12/10

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. While driving approximately 50 mph, an unknown wrench warning indicator illuminated. The accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. After waiting a few moments, the vehicle restarted. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Switch for ac wont blow out air.took it to valoline to addfreon.. They said, it was full.. Cold worked for 5 days then ac stopped working at hotest time of month... Took vehicle back and they stated, it was full still but added more freon to make me happy..after a few days no ac andi tookto a mechanicsbusiness.the owner and 4 others stated that the belt is turning maybe they overfilled it.. Told me to take it back to valoline and have them take out all freon then put amount back in but not to full.i did, worked for 2 days now again no ac. Blower worked but no ac comes out.. I cant afford anymore visits.now as of yesterday the blower will only work on number 4. 1 2 3 nothing comes out.please assist me with this problem.. I have been so happy with this car for 3 years.i take excellent care of everything it needs.first ford i ever owned... Cant have it running full blast always.. Acif full but wont work with blower on..being hot really makes me cranky and that can cause raod rage safety issue there too.lol lolplease help me...

This vehicle was purchased used from a lincoln mercury dealer in early july, 2014. Mileage was approximately 63,500 miles. At the time the air conditioning worked fine. Early in august we noticed the air conditioning was no longer cooling the vehicle. There was an outstanding recall ---14s05 -- related to the power steering. I took the vehicle to a local ford dealer to have the recall work done. As a side issue i asked that the a/c be checked.to my horrified surprise i was told a "desiccant bag" in the a/c accumulator had burst and the tiny desiccant particles had spread throughout the system, clogging up various parts and causing the system to fail. These particles cannot be flushed out completely and the only fix is to replace all of the components of the a/c, for $2700!!!!!because of the cost i have not had the work done. The dealer people advised me to file a complaint with nhtsa and to contact ford customer relations. I have done that, but no relief has been offered. I want to register my outrage at this situation particularly as a basic google search:" ford escape/mercury mariner air conditioning problems or desiccant bag" reveals many hundreds, probably thousands of similar complaints (repair costs up to $4000!) and show that ford has been aware of this issue for at least a couple of years but has taken no action. I urge you to have ford recall the affected vehicles and repair them at ford's expense.thank you.

P2112 throttle stuck.removed throttle body 7-2-14 cleaned carbon/oil residue resulting from pcv recurc, and reinstalled throttle body, cleared codes.driving 7-6-14 same symptoms (mil p2112 and limp home idle only) while in traffic.idled out of traffic, shut engine off, key on engine off repeatedly tapped throttle pedal to work throttle body motor and plate.cleared codes, drove home, pulled throttle body.still clean with no carbon/residue or other signs of material that would obstruct throttle valve movement.sourcing new throttle body now.

Car went into 'limp mode" at about 25 mph and the orange wrench warning light came on.had to stop, turned off the engine and then restarted.warning light went off but it occurred again in about 5 miles.went to ford dealer the next day and they could not find anything wrong nor duplicate the problem.problem happened again a couple of miles after leaving the dealership.i immediately returned to the dealer and they once again couldn't find anything wrong.two days later on i-95 the car went into "limp mode" the orange light came on and i drove to the side.the traffic was backed up so i was going about 25 mph when this occurred.when i restarted the engine this time, the "wrench" warning light went off but the "check the engine" light came on and remained on.next day returned to the dealer and this time they said they found the problem and it was the throttle body.in researching on line i found that this is occurring with some frequency and would certainly like to see ford take responsibility for issuing a defective part.as of now it looks like i will have to pay the bill and hope that the new part is not defective also.it is a real safety issue and hopefully this will be resolved.

Description was mad with complaint no. 10525937 i had entered the wrong type vehicle.

I purchased my 2010 mariner 03/26/2013 from a local dealership. While driving at around 35 - 40 mph i noticed a grinding sound and difficulty to increase speed. I then noticed that my left blinker was flashing at a faster speed and the tail light went out. That was replaced. The car then would sporadically go dead and would have to be jumped. I had 3 different service shops look at the vehicle and found no issues. I did replace the battery and it appeared to run fine for about 3 - 4 days. It is now sporadically dead and the local dealership will look into the issue on 8/7/2013. Undetermined problem at this time.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 20 mph, the vehicle jerked then suddenly stalled without warning. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 6,602.

Power steering suddenly stopped working while i was driving. The vehicle is extremely difficult to navigate but i was able to pull off the road to a safe area. After shutting the car off for 15 minutes and restarting the lack of power steering remained, but there was now a message saying "power steering assist fault".this car has several other electrical problems with regard to the a/c & blower, and also the drivers side window and dome lights work sporadically.

My daughter was traveling in louisiana on business, when forno reason the suv stopped on the interstate she phoned me in tears on the issue, she was stranded on the interstate for a short while. She got it started again after a few minutes. She drove for another few miles and it did it again. She finally made it to a dealer. The dealer ran a test that cost her 125 dollars only to tell her she had a bad electronic throttle body assembly. They informed her that the part was not available and would be days maybe weeks before they could get one. She than returned to her place of stay , that took about an hour because she could take the interstate and had to stop every few miles to restart the engine. What a huge inconvenience and frightened she would be rear ended. I hope a resolution is in the works for this safety issue.

Vehicle's electronic power steering turned off in the middle of driving, turning on highway, this has happened 3 times, seems like when the heat is on. Recall 14s05c shows up in service records from this car. Works was done my mahopac ford, mahopac, ny. Reflash ic and pscm. This recall was apparently addressed, but the problem has come back. I just bought this car used two weeks ago. It did not have this problem until i turned the heat on. Not sure what to do.

I had just gotten back from a long trip, and was stopped at a red light - i barely accelerated once it turned green, and the car lost complete and total power, in the middle of the intersection.a wrench light came on. No throttle was working as much as i pressed down. The car kept snail pacing until i got to an empty parking lot where i turned the vehicle off. I turned it back on and it revved itself, so i turned it back off. Turned it back on and all of a sudden it worked again. I took it to the dealer who claimed it was the "electronic throttle body" failing and charged me $98 for the diagnostic. I decided for a second opinion, and they took everything apart to see if it was something else since the car is only 3 years old and only has 30,000 miles on it. After much testing they concluded it was in fact the "electronic throttle body," and the repair cost me $595. Before this happened, 2 or 3days prior, i felt the car was losing power and it was hard to get it to go at it's v6 potential. Car still hesitates and feels like the engine jumps out when it stops and moves again... Sure enough my engine mounts now need replacing, and that's anywhere between $350-$500. Another recall perhaps? it's been doing this since day 1, and my warranty ended about 6 months ago. Go figure... Just when 3 years was up! sigh

I was traveling along, with my daughter in the car, when it seemed to just shut off. I was only going 40mph but in a line of traffic. I pulled the car over, it was then i could tell it was sorta still running. I come to find out later it went into a safe mode. Since then my wife or i have barely drove it. We had a close friend check it out and it is the throttle body. I then did some research online and come to find out it seems i'm not the only one with this problem. Is anyone out there making ford motor company responsible for this? i called the dealership, where we purchased our vehicle new and was told there was nothing they could do, unless i paid for this. I feel this is unfair! my wife and i purchased this vehicle brand new with only 8 miles. Why should we be punished for what clearly is a defect in a ford product? please help.

Short in left front headlight and for changed light bulb and 10 minutes after parking my car and owning it 1 1/2 months the car blew up.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated that it was difficult to turn the key in the ignition. The failure has occurred for two years. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 59,000.

Coming toa stop at a red stop light and then trying to accelerate from red to green light at an intersection my vehicle went into limp mode, it lost power. It would not accelerate pass 10mph. An engine light came on as a orange wrench light. I drove as i could and made to auto zone. They plug in the hand held car computer and it gave the code p2119. Which stands for throttle body.

On that date, i was driving home with my wife at approximately 2 pm. Suddenly, the car went off and the steering wheel went stiff.as i tried to move unsuccessfully, we went down to a slope of about 20 degrees. As a result, both of us had to be taken for emergency treatment for knocks, cuts and follow up checks. So far, it has cost us$16,497.00 and repair of the car us$6,853.00.there has been other events where the car suddenly stops and the steering wheel becomes stiff. But, i don t use the car in the highway but only for shorts errands and within the area where we live.its been a nightmare. I have changed the throttle casing module, the restraint control module, i put a rubber stop on the acceleration pedal, etc.again, out of the accident it has been over 4 thousand dollars in trying to fix the car.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. While driving at approximately 75 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was restarted, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 52,000.

First started with a suddenly a dead battery.replaced the battery and 3 months later happened again.slowly dead battery every 1-3 months.replaced 4 batteries.was diagnosed with a bad alternator.alternator replaced.three days later dead battery.another alternator installed and again, two days later dead battery.ford refused to help even after giving me a case number.said because i've never had vehicle serviced at a dealership they couldn't do anything because they support their dealers.also, ford customer service failed to tell me the pcm was still under warranty. Took the car to ford dealership in dover, de.diagnosed with a bad pcm.pcm installed by dealership and told that should fix the problem.drove the vehicle home and tried restarting.battery dead again.battery replaced per recommendations by dealership.drove the next day, but by the end of the day battery dead again.had to buy a remote battery pack to start the car when the battery is dead.have been stranded 10 times and had to jump start to get home.ford dealership told me to replace the alternator with a genuine ford alternator ant that should fix the problem.purchased the alternator and had it installed.highest voltage, even with accessories turned on, was 12.8 volts and wouldn't go any higher.i am returning back to ford dealership on tuesday, 10/28/14 to see if they will contact ford engineers for solution.so far, 6 batteries, 2 alternators, new pcm and battery is still not being charged.running out of patience and money.

I have been having a problem with my 2010 mercury mariner for over a month.it is stalling out at random times and then the vehicle dies. Took to dealership several times and the computer is not detecting the problem so they cant determine what to fix.the dealership says it may me the throttle body, but this is not covered in my extended warranty and is a very expensive part to replace. I am a single mother with 2 kids and this is very dangerous when we are driving down the highway at 75 mph with traffic.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. While driving at approximately 45 mph, the maintenance warning light illuminated and the vehicle jerked violently. In addition, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who inspected the vehicle but was unable to diagnose the failure. After leaving the dealer, the maintenance and the engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,980.

Repeated problems with vehicle not starting.ford dealer replaced lock module and ignition cylinder.total cost $526.50.i purchased vehicle new, and serviced only at ford dealership.

1. Outside review mirrors do not defrost. They were frozen and i was on the highway putting my life in danger because i could not see outside vehicles passing to be able to go right or left. Then a week later their was frost on the mirrors and still they would not defrost again i couldn't see other vehicles on either side of my vehicle.2. There is a gear shifting problem as well. Whenever i take off at a stop my car kicks real hard and loud enough to scare me. I have reported this several times with the dealer that i bought my vehicle from and they cannot find the problem. They have heard it do this but cannot seem to find the problem.

I was leaving work and driving down the highway and my power steering went out but then it came back and it kept doing it off and on . Luckily i only live 15 miles from work. Its happen before when i was in a turn but i didn't think much about it till it started doing it today thankfully traffic was light and i didn't have a accident

Vehicle electronic throttle body (etb) was replaced at veterans ford dealership in tampa, fl due to this part severely effecting ability of the vehicle to run properly (several times). Customer paid for this repair. Sometime after 3/4/14 when nhtsa completed their investigation, we received a notice that ford was replacing this item. Since we already paid for the repair ($381.32) at a ford dealership, we tried to get the reimbursement that ford owes us. We were informed we had to have the original receipt, which to this day is still packed up in storage if we have it at all because we moved from fl to nc and are still involved in buying a new home. The bottom line is ford (corp) is refusing to honor their agreement to reimburse customers. The craziest part of this whole dilemma is that ford has and controls 100% of the information needed to process our reimbursement, but absolutely refuses to do so without the original receipt. I could understand if we had this repair done at some unrelated, third party service facility. However, we went to a ford dealership and they have record of completing the repair and us paying them for the repair. So again, ford has all the information (proof) in their possession to take care of this reimbursement, but refuses to do so. I have called the customer (dis)satisfaction department at ford corporate, but that is like talking to a brick wall as far as anyone having in common sense, accountability or decency to do the right thing (certainly any kind of good will is lacking in that organization). So here i am having to complain to the nhtsa to get ford to do what they promised in the first place. I look forward to a timely reply letting me know you guys have this handled. Additionally, ford should be reprimanded severely for such [xxx] behavior and attitude. Maybe a consumer reporter needs to get involved in all this. While i am driving my car will all of a sudden turn off

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. While driving unknown speeds, the steering wheel became difficult to turn while making turns. In addition, the battery warning indicator illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was 120,000.

The light turned green and i started to roll forward to go, and my car just stopped. I didn't not have enough speed to move from the spot i was in. Stuck in morning traffic i had to turn my car off and try to restart it. It took a few turns of the key and it finally started.

I was driving my car merging on to the expressway in a construction zone and as soon as i got on the car completely lost power. I could not push on the gas or anything. Luckily there was an opening in some cones for me to barely have enough power to get out on one lane of traffic in a construction zone in morning rushing hour traffic. I had to turn my car off and luckily it came back on. I have read online that this has been happening to so many people that the part is on national back order. This is crazy! i had my 1 year old daughter in the car and we could have been hit. This is completely unsafe!

The 2010 mercury mariner suddenly began stalling while driving 45mph on a two lane road.while this was occurring, it also began jerking and would not accelerate!the wrench light then came on.i was finally able to pull off to the side of the road and a tow truck was called for. The jimmy granger ford dealership stated that the problem is a bad electronic throttle body.

I have a 2010 mercury mariner voga edition just today a power steering assist fail came on the dashboard look online says by my manufacturing date it's covered but entered vin it doesn't so why isn't it i need this fix this is a major problem !!!

Had previously had the dealer look into what i thought was issue with transmission and gears slipping back in 2012.they indicated there was a bulletin, which i believe was on a computer issue, and that the tech made some adjustments.that seemed to address the issue for a while.it had been acting up again, and not quite the same as previously, with more stalling out and not accelerating and then suddenly jumping a little.asked dealer to look into situation again on visit on may 30th.techs found nothing wrong.was driving home on interstate on evening of june 7th when it felt like the engine had lost power.i was driving 60 mph, but i was able to pull off to a wide shoulder area.the orange wrench light came on.i turned off car and let it sit for a couple of minutes.it started up with no problems.i was able to drive it about 45-50 mph until off interstate and got it to dealership with no additional problems and left it.waiting to hear outcome from them.

Having two issues. The first one is the check fuel intake warning light comes on and my check engine light stays on. This appears to be causing my car to cut out dangerously at intersections as well as the wrench light to come in and my car 'limps' home.

During normal driving on the highway the engine lost power, the wrench light on the dash lit.the vehicle sputtered and suddenly decreased in speed, making for hazardous driving conditions.i moved to the side of the 4 lane highway and into the breakdown lane.i placed the vehicle in park, the engine idled roughly.i turned off and restarted the car and the symptoms were gone.a week later the same trouble returned.please press fmc to resolve at no-cost to consumer the obvious and dangerous manufacture defect with a recall on the affected parts/system.

While driving in heavy traffic in center lane of three line highway. Vehicle suddenly lost power creating a emergency situation. I hadto force traffic to allow me proceed to side of the road. Endangering myself and my family, i sat for about 30 min. Before i could move the vehicle.

Description was mad with complaint no. 10525937 i had entered the wrong type vehicle.

In 2011, while driving at approximately 60 mph, i pressed the gas pedal and could not accelerate.the engine stayed on but i could not accelerate.i was able to turn on the hazards and pull off to the side of the highway.i turned off the vehicle and after waiting 5 minutes i restarted the vehicle and the gas pedal was working.then again in october 2013, i was driving approximately 30 mph when i lost acceleration capability.this time the throttle body indicator light was displayed.i took the vehicle in to a mechanic and he stated that nothing registered on the computer as a malfunction. He looked at the intake valve and could not see any build-up.in january 2014 this happened 3 times and i was able to restart the vehicle and proceed. However, on january 11, 2014 after the malfunction the vehicle did not reset immediately now the check engine light is displayed.

Was going home from work, about 20 mph, car sputtered and stopped accelerating on ramp, engine and wrench light came on. This had happened before so i knew to turn the car off and back on to get my car to work again. But alas, i am driving at about 30 mpg for only 2 minutes and it happens again! i was again on another ramp, completely blocking traffic. Thank god i was not yet on i-95 going at a high speed, or even worse with my child in the car. If i ever get in an accident with my child and we are injured because of this, my family will sue the heck out of ford. Has to call my husband to drive the car to the dealer after i pulled off the road, i was shaking too bad to drive.

Engine lost power.rpm dropped to approx 1000 and throttle became unresponsive.engine warning light came on. Engine was running very rough.pulled off interstate highway.shut off engine.restarted and ran normally.next day dealer states that no faults were registered, suspects throttle body defect.concerned that i may not be so lucky to be in light traffic next time resulting in accident.

The engine suddenly went from 70 mph to limp mode at about 900 rpm's or so.i was able to get to the shoulder and turn the engine off.i restarted the engine, and it worked normally allowing me to accelerate and leave the expressway.i was not sure what had happened so i did not think anything of it. This has happened four more times since.i thought at first that i had bad gasoline because the engine light went on for the second incident and the car was low on gas.i limped to a gas station that time and filled the tank.after restarting the car everything worked normally, and the engine light turned off.in the subsequent incidents, i did not notice the engine light going on.i just turn off the engine and restarted the car.this is very dangerous to lose power at 70 miles per hour.in one case i had just past a truck on a two lane highway.i noticed that this seems to fall under your nhtsa action #:pe13003.

While driving normally suddenly it looses power and throttles before turning off.it is a hazard because i may be hit if it happens in the freeway.

My wife was driving in town and the car began to "buck" and slow down. After a few minutes the accelerator had no effect on the engine. It appeared to be idling only. She pulled off the road and stopped the car, waited a10 minutes or so, and started it again. There was no difficulty starting the car, but again the accelerator had no effect on the engine speed. We had the car towed to the local dealership where it was diagnosed with a bad throttle body and throttle motor. The repairs cost approximately $500.

I suffered an accident because while driving in a highway, i could not steer the wheel and the engine stop working.i wrote before because of what happened and have not received an answer.what can i do? thank you

I was driving along on the highway (i-77 n) and all of a sudden my car started to jerk.the wrench tool light lit up on the dash board and the car immediately began to loose speed.the change in power and speed was quick and i had to quickly check the surrounding traffic and pull the car over to avoid and accident.after pulling over to the side of the road i cut the car completely off and it started back up.i took the car to the dealer where i purchased the car and i was advised to replace the filter.i purchased a filter from ford and my car ran smoothly for about 2 weeks. I would push on the accelerator but it would not accelerate.each time the wrench tool would appear and the engine light would come on. I have lost speed in the middle of an intersection.after my car started to cut off again following the installation of the new filter i took the car back to the dealer and was instructed to purchase throttle body spray.they cleaned out the throttle body and the car drove fine for a few days until i began experiencing the same problem.some times i would haveto cut my car off a few times and restart it on one round trip.i keep regular maintenance on this car, changing the oil and rotating the tires, etc.i purchased the car in december 2012 because the car i hadover $2,500 of needed maintenance. I needed a reliable car to get around as the primary transportation for my family.i took the car back to the dealer a few times and they explained the code and explanation of the problem: trouble code p2111, throttle body actuator stuck open and closed.i really hope this investigation is expedited and that ford recalls the mercury mariner 2010 due to the faulty throttle bottle.i have had zero maintenance issues with my vehicle other than the throttle body issues.

When driving at a slow speed of 20-25 mph, the vehicle stopped accelerating and bucked a little. The wrench (powertrain) signal light up on the dash, so i proceeded to pull over, put the car in park, and shut it off. After a few minutes i turned it on again and all seemed fine, though the car was now slow moving and less smooth through shifting. The same thing occurred 9 days later, with the vehicle responding even more slowly afterwards.

Short in left front headlight and for changed light bulb and 10 minutes after parking my car and owning it 1 1/2 months the car blew up.

The car lost all power while i was driving on the interstate at 65 mph. I was able to steer it to the side of the road, and to restart it. The same thing happened in 3 miles and then again in 1 mile. It was okay for the next 3 months. Then i tried to pass a tractor and my car stalled. I got it to the side of the road and was able to limp into a ford service center where they diagnosed a " throttle body failure". I am waiting on a part back order to get it fixed!

My 2010 mercury mariner went into limp mode and would not respond to throttle inputs. I researched this issue and learned that this problem appears to be related to a faulty throttle body or electronic control panel for the throttle body.this an extremely dangerous condition as it appears at random without warning.i believe this must be a defect that has been known to ford for some time and needs to be the subject of a recall.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph, there was a loss of engine power. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road and the engine was turned off. Upon restarting, the vehicle resumed normally until the failure recurred twice. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who informed the contact that the throttle body assembly would need to be replaced however, the part was on back order and the vehicle would be repaired when the part became available. The manufacturer had not been notified. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

A year ago in july of 2012 not sure the approximate date, i was on my way to work and all of a sudden everything just cut off. I'm in the middle of the road, accelerator to the floor and nothing. I took the car to the dealership same day and they had it all day long and couldn't figure out what caused the short and sent me on my way. Now present day which is a bout a year later i take my car in for a simple safety inspection, wait 10 minutes for the porter to bring me my car to find out its idling and the accelerator is to the floor and its not moving. The gentlemen comes in and tells me its my throttle body going out on the car, he told me this has happened to several people and the part is on back order. He said a guy has had his car sitting there for 10 days and the part has yet to come in. They tell me this needs to be replaced, but ironically enough my warranty expired 4 days ago may 25,2013, which i wasn't aware of. I was at the dealer 2 months prior getting a oil change this didn't dawn on you to tell me it was going to expire. So i came to you with this problem a year ago you had no clue and said have a great day, i've been in every 3 months or so for oil changes since that incident, and you couldn't have noticed this problem before my warranty expired awfully convenient. I'm amazed with all the complaints and problems i've seen about this same issue and no recall has been made. This is dangerous. What it tells me is that ford doesn't care about their consumers enough to take this matter seriously and correct this error.

The car would not accelerate and the wrench symbol illuminated. I had to pull over turn off the car and restart it.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle shook violently and stalled. Also, the contact stated that the wrench warning icon and the check engine warning light were illuminated. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the electronic throttle body needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated the parts needed to repair the failure were unavailable. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and the current mileage was 51,000.

The contact ownsa 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled without any warnings. The contact mentioned that the driver was able to restart the vehicle immediately after. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 48,000 and the current mileage was 50,200.

Driving at approx 40 mph car engine reacts abnormally and "wrench" warning light appears and car "stalls" out and, although fully operational will not drive.turn the car off and back on and the engine eventually will turn over but again repeats the same issue of "stalling" out.after having the car towed, the diagnosis is a defective "throttle-body".

The vehicle started to stall when the accelerator peddle was engaged, after turning vehicle off and restarting it would travel approximately 50 to 100ft. Before again stalling.

Several times, while driving vehicle, engine suddenly lost power and the check engine light came on soon afterward.at times i was driving at highway speeds, and at times slower--the last time before service was approx. 40 mph.had to pull over several times to the side of the road, stop the engine, then restart and try to continue driving.after several more losses of compression and power, returned home and took the vehicle in for service to the dealership where it was purchased.they ran diagnostics, but were unable to duplicate the problem.problem recurred several times afterward, and with the check engine light still on, returned for service on 4/02/12, where the diagnostics confirmed a problem with the throttle body.it was replaced and there have been no problems since then.i had to spend the following amounts for service:diagnostics on 3/30/12:$59.actual repair on 4/02/12:$450.61.

Slowed to make a right hand turn into a parking lot and the vehicle stalled.there was no warning of an impending stall and no console lights came on other than the battery light and the oil light.the incident did not create an error code in the computer system as i took the vehicle to a ford dealership for service and to check for any issues with the vehicle.ford repair shop found nothing wrong with vehicle upon inspection and said there was nothing they could do without an error code in the computer system.a stalling incident occurred again on 3/18/14.in this instance, again there was no warning.i had just exited off of the highway and was accelerating after a stop sign.the vehicle stalled in the middle of the road.again, only the battery light and oil light came on.

Vehicle surges wildly at idle speeds in traffic.vehicle stalls out while driving regular highway speed, surges wildly while driving, rpm spikes drastically while driving and at idle.stalls and surges both while entering traffic from a stopped position and while driving at regular pace.struggles to crank after fueling the vehicle.spits and sputter and shakes while at idle....updated10/20/15

I was driving when it felt like the vehicle was reving in park then the "wrench" icon appeared on my dash. I went a couple blocks & my vehicle felt like it wasn't shifting automatically as it should. I pulled over & turned it off. It started right back up with no lights on, i went half a block & stopped at a stop sign but while stopped the engine reved up. I was worried i was going to be in an accident. Then the "wrench" light came back on, since i was close to home i figured i'd just try to get home. About another block, the check engine light came on & was making strange noises. I kept my vehicle at about 5-10 mph & got it home. My car was very jerky.

My husband was driving the car at 65 mph on the highway and the care went limp and would not accelerate.he had to pull over to the side and restart the car.this happened to him 3 times and me one time.i took it to a dealership and it is the throttle body.you have received several complaints and there is an ongoing investigation.in addition, the dealership was going to overcharge me for the repair.please do everything in your power to get ford to recall this party and reimburse the customer before there is a fatality.

While driving this vehicle we have stalling issues. The issues have happened while driving the car on the road while making turns and stopped waiting for a light, the vehicle stops running without warning. The car will restart after you have placed the car in park and restart. The dealership has not been able to duplicate this problem.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, there was a sudden loss of power as the wrench warning icon illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the electronic throttle body needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 58,849 and the current mileage was 59,000.

Stalling. After driving 60 miles, some at freeway speeds, we stopped at a crossroad to cross. Upon crossing it ran rough and stalled just as we crossed the street. Waited two minutes, restarted and drove rest of way home with no problem. Posted speed on road we crossed is 55 mph. Had it stalled in front of traffic there could have been an accident. We had our two grandchildren in the back seat. This is the 2nd time in 5 weeks. Had the fuel pump and spark plugs changed the first time. Ran fine until yesterday. No check engine light is coming on. Today i ordered an throttle body.

I was driving along at 45 mph and the vehicle lost all engine power, but did not die. I stopped the vehicle and shut off the engine.i resterted the vehicle and it started fine. I drove two miles and engine lost power again.this time the check engine light came on.i shut the vehicle off and resterted.check engine light was still on, but i was able to drive one mile to a friends house. I let it sit for 4 hours and drove 1/10 of a mile and engine lost power again. My friend gave me a ride home as i was 12 miles from home.i called a towing service and had vehicle towed to local garage.computer code registered a p2111. I contacted local ford dealership and they recommended a throttle body cleaning because vehicle was out of warranty by 6,000 miles.had service performed on 6/24. On 6/29 the engine stalled again.

Car stalled multiple times and went into what the dealership calls limp mode. I was informed i have a bad throttle body and motor asy - [ds7z9e926a], it is my understanding there is a nationwide back ordered on this part. The vehicle is used primarily on the freeway at speeds in excess of 65 miles per hour. It is my understanding there has only been a few hundred complaints. I wish to add one more to the list. I am being told no eta on when ford will get the back order of parts cleared up. 6 ? 8 weeks without my primary vehicle.

Car stopped running wrench light came on started motor put it in gear tried to go regular pace car did not go it is very slow no gas peddle turned it off let set for 2 hrs. Started back up runs ok but check eng. Lite came on called dealer

We were traveling down the highway at 60 mph when the engine went dead like the switch was cut off.i tried to restart the engine and it would try to start then go dead.i did this 10 times and it finally started.i took it directly to the local ford dealer.a computer check did not show any problem.the dealer said he did not know what to work on and said to return it when it happens again.

While driving on three separate occasions the vehicle unexpectedly stalls with no prior warning. The third time i was traveling at approximately 60 mph on the parkway. A dangerous condition to say the least. I have a second 2010 mariner which had exactly the same problem in january 2013. Both were repaired by the dealer by replacing a defective throttle body.

Twice in two days while speeding up to get on highway my mariner looses complete power and the wrench light comes on. Lucky for me it was just before i was turning on to merge. Seconds later it would have been a serious accident, due to the sudden stop. I had to shut the car off and start it back up in order to get going again. After reading #pe13003 has been file for the same exact problem with same make and model. Someone better react before someone looses a life. This is horrible.

I have no throttle response, engine rpm drop back to an idle, engine runs rough and stalls. No power. Moving to the side of the road, turn engine off and restart and will runs fine, but today this problem recurred every 4 miles. I was only 22 miles from home but that is a lot of stopping along side of the road.

The vehicle was in motion at a stoplight. The light had turned green, and the vehicle was breaking to stop behind the first vehicle. I pressed the gas pedal to follow the first vehicle and the car stalled. The car could not be turned back on or put in motion. There was no indication of a problem prior to this throttle body failure. The car was pushed off the road by 3 people and into a nearby parking lot. The problem that made the vehicle unsafe was a defective ford throttle body. The reference consumer satisfaction program 13n03. I received the recall notice june 2014, but ford only suggested a recalibration (not replacement). The recalibration was completed at ford autonation on june 23, 2014. Ford had estimated a throttle body reduction in movability and not failure. The mileage of this mercury mariner on the date of repair was 142551 and the in-service date, 06/18/2010. Therefore, the reimbursement should be covered under ford's extended warranty of 150000 miles/10 years. The repair was completed 06/08/2020. Ten days prior to the expiration of the extended warranty. Ford claims they will not reimburse for the throttle body failure. This was well-documented in the previous claim 13n03 and this case should be reopened, based on the fatality possibility of a throttle body failure with the original part that came with the vehicle, which was also re-calibrated per ford's recall in 2014. This incident proves that ford's re-calibration did not prevent failure of the throttle body. Asking for a recall for the throttle body for the similar makes and models still in circulation as it's a safety hazard and also reimbursement for this service for vehicles that had it completed.

Vehicle loosing power and the check engine light comes on,u will have to shut vehicle off and re crank it.

I was leaving a soccer game and the car went to about 40 mps and the wrench light came on and the pedal went limp. I pulled over and stopped the car and the car started shaking like it was out of time. I put it in part and shut off the car when i turned the car back on the light was off. I was able to drive 20 miles back and forth and then it did the same thing again. I have taken it to run the codes and there were none. Today 8/31/13 it did the same thing again and now finally the engine light came on. Codes were ran at autozone and p1212 throttle body sensor finally showed up. I had already checked the web the first time that it did it after talking with a mechanic that works at ford and he told me what it was and that there was no recall. I am very upset. I just purchased this car less than three months ago!!! single mom someone help!!!

Engine stalled while driving at highway speed, started surging, running very rough and would not go any faster than about 15 mph. The vehicle was stopped and shut off. After a few minutes the vehicle was started and seemed to run normally. The vehicle ran normally until 10/05/2012 when it stalled and ran very rough again. At this time the vehicle was being driven to the local dealer for a check. While waiting for a call back from the dealer the vehicle was restarted and seem to run normally again.after talking to the service mgr., it was learned that the problem most likely was the throttle body and it would not be under warranty.at this time it was decided to take the vehicle to a local shop that we were very pleased with for past service for other vehicles within our family.the local shop ordered and installed a new throttle body and the vehicle has performed normally.

I was driving at about 25 mph when the car suddenly lurched forward, then began rapidly decelerating. I had to get off the road and coast to a stop. I turned the car off then restarted it and everything seemed fine, but the problem happened again later that day and several more times in the coming weeks. It has happened at various speeds and under diverse conditions. It is intermittent and unpredictable. After nearly causing an accident on the interstate due to this occurrence i am now limited to surface streets and only when i have no other option but to drive my car. After doing some reading it seems that this is a known defect with the throttle body and i worry that even if i pay out of pocket to have it repaired i will only be buying another part with the same defect. My hope is that ford will issue a recall of the vehicles for which this is a known issue!

My wife was driving down the street in our mercury mariner when it suddenly went from 30 to 0 mph for no reason.her foot was on the accelerator when it suddenly slowed to a stop, right in the middle of the road.when she tried to drive it again the powertrain alarm was on so we had it towed to the dealer. Ford mechanics found it to be an internal short in the throttle body and replaced it. Unbelievably, we had to pay $342.47, after ford refused to do the replacement of an integral part of the engine even though the powertrain warranty was still in effect and it was a powertrain alarm.not only do i believe this repair should have been paid by ford under the warranty, but i believe we were forced to correct a dangerous defect that should have had a recall, as many others have had this same problems with their ford products and it is extremely dangerous for a car to come to a sudden halt for no reason.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated that while traveling various speeds, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was moved to the shoulder and restarted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 51,000.

2010 mercury mariner.consumer writes in regards to vehicle hesitation intermittently at various speeds.the consumer stated she began noticing the problem in 2011, after a 2010 update of the transmission software in a factory recall. In addition to the hesitation when trying to accelerate, there were also a few instances where the cruise control seemed to either surge or back down, as if it didn't know quite how to respond, usually, but not always, when on a slight incline. The consumer stated on one occasion, when the vehicle was in park, with the motor idling, she was unable to get the vehicle to go into to gear on the first attempt, when it did shift, it shifted very hard and noisily into gear on the 2nd attempt. Also, the vehicle would shift rough in lower gears, typically from as top or accelerating after slowing to almost a stop.the consumer went to another dealer, after the dealer where she originally purchased the vehicle from, failed to address the problems she experiencing. The second dealer informed her, the transmission valve body was damaged even before the recall came out in 2012. The part was replaced. However, the consumer experienced a hesitation in january 2013.the consumer stated after reading about an investigation of ford vehicle, which included her model year, she was concerned about the throttle body, which had not been replaced.

Vehicle stalled 3 times and had no throttle response. Turn key off and restart vehicle to regain throttle response. Wrench light and engine light came on. Mechanic retrieved memory codes p2111 and p2112.performed electronic throttle body test with ids. Throttle body failed and has a fault. Mechanic replaced throttle body

On several occasions the vehicle would suddenly loose power from highway speeds and limp to the side of the road. A light would come on that looked like a wrench. Once the vehicle was stopped and restarted i was able to move on normally until the next episode which began to come more frequently. After the first incident i immediately went to my ford dealer and spoke to someone in service who told me they could hook the car up to the computer but since the wrench light went out it would most likely show nothing and i would have to pay $100 for this service. I have an extended warranty with a $100 deductible that was going to run out in 400 miles. I have the vehicle in right now and they just called and told me the throttle body needs to be replaced and it is not covered under the extended warranty and will cost me over $500.

I was on a major expressway when the vehicle starting decreasing speed.i went from 55 mph to 45 to 35 to 25 to 15 to 5 and the stopped.luckily traffic was light and when this started, i pulled over to the shoulder of the road which was close to an exit.i somehow got the suv home, starting the engine, it dying out and going a couple of feet over and over again.we took the vehicle to our auto ship and they said that ford had a problem with the throttle and gave us a north carolina consumers council article.they did not have the digital equipment to fix and referred us to ford dealership.ford dealership advised it was the throttle. I talked to ford customer service and they advised there was no recall and there was nothing they could do.iwe spent $362.56 on throttle and two letters later ford will do nothing since they say we do not have the extended warranty and we are beyond three years/36,000 miles.i was afraid when the car died out on the expressway.

While driving on several occasions the vehicle unexpectedly stalls with no prior warning. The third time i was traveling at approximately 60 mph on the parkway.i have a second 2010 mariner which had exactly the same problem in august 2013. Both were repaired by the dealer by replacing a defective throttle body.

Was driving on freeway at about 70-75 mph and hesitation occurredand speed uncontrollably decreased.i went to right lane (had beenin middle lane) and stopped on the shoulder of the nearest exit lane.luckily it was very close.i was afraid that i would lose control ofsteering also.this is 3rd time this happened, so took to dealership and they replaced throttle body assm. For close to $500.technician said i shouldbe happy now, the new part had been re-designed. I'd be alot happier if fordhad taken responsibility earlier when they realized it needed to be redesigned.the previous occurrence i was in left lane at very busy time on xpresswayand had to pull onto the left hand shoulder....very close to being hit.

Was at stop light completely stopped. When the light turned green, i stepped on the accelerator and my car did not accelerate. The engine light and another light came on. I tried multiple times to move the car and nothing happened. I powered my car down and restarted it, at this time the car started moving again when i pressed on the accelerator.

While driving on local interstae (271s) my car began to lose speed and dropped from 60 mph to 10mph then to a crawl. Luckiy i made it to the shoulder ( i was in the right lane with limited traffic) the car began to sputter and jump. I turned off the ignition. This could have been a serious possible fatal accident if i had been in heavy traffic. No warning was provided. It happened, the wrench symbol popped up as it was happening and there was nothing i could do. I travel daily on the highway to/from work. The traffic is very heavy. Luckily, i was on the road on th weekend during a fairly low populated time frame. I called mercury and and received no assistance . I called my local dealership and received no satisfaction there also. This is a serious incident and has hapened to many ( i can provide website with testimonials.) since this not a powertrain issue and it was past the 3/35,000 coverage, im stuck with the expense $360.00. Wear and tear is one thing but to see a flaw like this occur for many and nothing is done is not acceptable.

Returning home from work, wife in front of me.center high stop light had some bad bulbs.removed assembly, found melted reflector and broken bulbs.took many photos.informed local dealership by email.told them u/w.part arrived 1 week later, picked up on saturday morning, had to pay $90.41.i badgered dealership for reimbursement, finally got check at end of december. Still have pics and part.

Short in left front headlight and for changed light bulb and 10 minutes after parking my car and owning it 1 1/2 months the car blew up.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v777000 (fuel system, gasoline). The parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called fred beans ford of doylestown at (215) 348-2901 (located at 876 n easton rd, doylestown, pa 18902) and ditschman/flemington ford lincoln at (908) 483-9234 (located at 215 us-202, flemington, nj 08822) and was informed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Driving at approximately 55 mph and the vehicle just stopped, pulled to shoulder ,the engine was still running but no fuel getting to it to go. I turned off the ignition and restarted and it was fine.it happened again a few days later and i called a ford dealership to have it checked,i waned to get it taken care of before warranty expired in december of 2012.i was told they could not find anything wrong with it. I had another incident about a month later, at this time i did not drive it much unless i had to until warmer weather. In june of 2013 i had another incident with the same problem. I did not have any problems until august of 2013. I then had numerous incidents with the same problem and i called the ford dealership to look at it again. By this time there was no warranty on it and the problem was found. I had to pay more than $500.00 for it to be repaired.

The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.parts distribution disconnect.

The vehicle shut off while driving.this re-occurred several times during the next 8 days also while driving, one time while making a left hand turn across oncoming traffic.we researched the problem and had two estimates done and contacted ford motor company.the throttle body had to be replaced and the repair cost us $400.00 dollars.we have researched this problem and have seen that this is a very common safety problem.we spoke with our neighbors who have a ford escape and already had their throttle body replaced as well for the same problem.we were told by the dealership that the new part is designed differently now, so this should not happen to us again.this has to be a recall item.it is obviously a manufacturing defect and is a huge safety concern.ford should have to be responsible for these charges. We are very disappointed that ford has not taken responsibility for this issue and that all of us have to pay for a defective system that ford motor company knows is a problem, and could have been the cause of a major accident.

On multiple occasions i would be driving the car and it would lose all power and the wrench symbol would appear in the instrument panel.i would have to pull over, stop the car and turn it off.it would then start and i could go for an undetermined period of time and it would happen again. This resulted in more than one near miss by other cars traveling on an interstate. I had it repaired by the mercury dealership who had to order the part since they said this was happening so much it was hard to get the throttle body part needed to repair the vehicle.

Car lost power during turn..apparent stall ..accidentnarrowly averted by surrounding traffic reacting to situation. Diagnosed as faulty throttle body. Alsolost power on highway previous week. Vehiclegoes into limp mode.partreplaced by dealer ..shortage of parts necessitated wait fornew part...dealer is apparently aware of this problem but pleads ignorance..that there is a problem...recall should be initiated before some one is seriously hurt.

I was driving on the highway and all of a sudden lost throttle.the vehicle went into limp mode.i had to pull over and power cycle the vehicle.this happened 8 times in 40 miles.each time the wrench indicator would display on the dash. I checked the error codes and there were several occurrences of p2111 and p2112.this happened to a relative driving my vehicle a couple days ago, and my wife a month ago. The issue seems to be happening more frequently.

After receiving ford's recall notice 16s41/16v-777 (fuel delivery module potential leak), my husband & i took our 2010 mercury mariner to lebanon ford to perform recall "repair". We were not having an issue with the mariner, but we were following ford's instructions (via their mailed recall notice to us) to have the recall done. Now, our mariner is messed up! it now won't start without a delayed crank (we have video recordings of how long it now takes for our mariner to start!) & sometimes while driving, the mariner jerks (both problems seem to be as though the car is not getting fuel). We made a 2nd trip to lebanon ford after informing them of the issue they created, but they did not fix the delayed crank issue or the car jerking issue! lebanon ford service is stating they can only perform the recall repair "according to ford's guidelines". My husband asked lebanon ford if the old parts could be put back on, but lebanon ford said they had to send back the old parts to the manufacturer. So, now our once nice mariner has significant issues because we had a recall "repair" done! we regret having the recall addressed! prior to the recall "repair", we had a nice mariner with under 60k miles. Now, we have a mariner with problems due to recall. It's not a repair! it's damage! further, they're not offering us any fix to the damage ford did to our car.

While driving upon a roadway in our neighboring community at approximately 30 mph, my 2010 mercury mariner suddenly stopped traveling at speed, and went into 'limp mode'.i was able to slowly pull the vehicle into a parking lot.i called my wrecker service and they towed (flatbed) my vehicle back to the ford dealer where i bought it.i purchased the 2010 mercury mariner new from the same dealer.they examined it and determined that the 'throttle body' needed to be replaced.they declined to repair it under warranty, stating that the part was no longer covered.they also stated that a recall had not been issued.i paid a total of $409.27 for the repair.the tow bill was covered under my membership in aaa.

I was driving down the street at about 30 miles an hour and all of a sudden the car lost power and i felt like i was in low gear. The power surged causing the car to buck and stall, i was on a city street

On friday there was a fuel odor in the cabin was slight as i was driving around town (dropping the kids off at school) the odor increased. I left it parked for a day and the following the day the fuel odor increased to the point that i could not drive it around anymore. It was still driving in what seemed like normal driving conditions but the odor was too much.

My engine light keeps coming on and i have been told its the little flap to the gas tank but they can repair it yet as a recall how is that when they alreay know what it is?

Thanks.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I received safety recall notice 16s41 / nhtsa recall 16v-777. I inquired about it in january 2018 at my local ford dealer. I was told the parts were back ordered. I called today to scheduled "the works" and to have this issue resolved. The rep stated if i didn't have an obvious gasoline leak, i didn't qualify for the repair nor need it. This has never happened before when i receive a recall notice, normally they replace the part regardless of its current state of functionality.

The car is 3 years old and has only 25,000 miles.i took the car to the local ford dealer about 2 months ago because the "fans" were very loud and the car was jerking when i accelerate.they couldn't find anything. Two days ago (exactly 27 days after my warranty expired) the car stalled out twice.i would press the gas and nothing happened.took it back to the ford dealer and they said i have a bad throttle body.... The car is still new!!!there has to be a problem with this part!!

Car felt like it was running out of gas. We pulled off the street and shut it down and waited,we had plenty of gas. We started it back up and it seemed ok, the engine and power train lights remained on. Since i had taken it in for the recall alreadyand we were close to southgate ford we pulled into the service area i spoke to the service person and was told it would cost 600.00 to fix. I mentioned the recall, he said that was just for the software we then left an went to auto zone where they put their diagnostic tool on the car and the print out read there was a problem with the throttle body. Ford dealers refuse to replace the throttle body under the recall.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated that the fuel delivery module leaked and there was a puddle under the vehicle. The contact also noticed a fuel leak under the back seat of the vehicle. The contact stated that the fuel delivery module was replaced on two separate occasions. Larry h. Miller ford mesa (located at 460 e auto center dr, mesa, az 85204, (480) 569-7713) was contacted by phone and an appointment was scheduled to have the vehicle diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v777000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.

Loss of all power, went to limp mode.happened after next 10 restarts in residential traffic then cleared.engine threw p2112 code, sticking throttle body.please issue recall.

Driving and the vehicle just slowed down and was not getting fuel. I pulled to the shoulder the car was still running but not getting fuel. I turned it off and restarted and it was ok.a few weeks later it did it again and i called a ford dealership to have it checked out. I wanted to get it taken care of before the warranty expired.they said they could not find anything wrong. I had a couple more issues but i did not drive it much during colder weather. Injune of 2013 i had another incident with the same issue. Over the next couple of months it continued occasionally but in august of 2013 it started more often. One incident was in an intersection that was very busy and i called the same ford dealership to get it in againand they then found the throttle body was bad and had to be replaced, at this time it now cast me over $500.00 dollars to fix it.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact noticed a "check fuel; failed inlet" warning message and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The dealer (autonation ford frisco 6850 tx-121, frisco, tx, 75034) was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed due to the diagnostic fee and because the vehicle was over the 10,000 mile warranty for the year. The vehicle was taken to auto zone where the contact was able to retrieve error codes. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who confirmed that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v777000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:fuel pump). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount time for the repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure and was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

When filling gas tank yesterday once full gas leaked from under the wheel well onto the tires.the car was parked at a gas station.i was asked to move the car away from the pump by the gas attendant.

Going 65 miles down interstate during rush hour traffic and lost all power had to weave to side of road to get out of traffic had to have repaired was throttle body.

Suddenly lost all power. Car did not stall but had no throttle. There was no shoulder on busy route 46 in new jersey. I was fortunate to be able to coast into a wendy's parking lot to avoid a collision from the rear. Emergency repair was performed by a local mechanic. Identified fault code as p2112. Car restarted and i was forced by personal circumstanceto drive the car home despite the incident. Very scary since i traveled on nj turnpike by newark airport...elevated highway, 3 lanes, no shoulder, 65mph, 18 wheelers. If car had stalled there, i would have been killed!!!!i want my government to take action to force ford to do the right thing and force a safety recall for the throttle body assembly..

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v777000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called mcnelly-whaley motor co (865-453-2833 located at 750 dolly parton pkwy, sevierville, tn 37862) where it was confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available. Parts distribution disconnect.

The car just died on the motorway and left me in a dangerous situation.the problem is an ineffective throttle body ( code p2111 ).

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated that the engine warning light as well as a fuel error message was displayed on the instrumental panel. The contact stated that the engine had to be turned on and off several times to remove the fuel error message however, the engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnosis or repairs. The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v777000 (fuel system, gasoline).the failure mileage was 130,000.

My vehicle suddenly stalled when i was driving and no matter how much i tried to press on the gas...it would not move safely. I was very lucky because this was at a traffic intersection on beechmont and eight mile. I proceeded to drive it to the enterprise parking lot albeit it was extremely slow and i had cars honking at me because of the lights on the intersection. The mechanic repair shop says it's the throttle body.

Vehicle lost power. Turning it off and back on would restore power, but the problem would then happen again.replaced mass airflow indicator, but problem came back in a few days.now they say i need a new throttle body but the part is on back order and i have been waiting over a week.i can not use the vehicle until it is repaired.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v777000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact took the vehicle to magic city ford where the contact was advised that the parts were not available. The contact stated that there was fuel leaking from the fuel tank onto the wheel well. The contact paid to have a fuel canister replaced on the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but did not offer any assistance. The vin was invalid. The failure mileage was unknown. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

I was driving along normally when the car lurched and the engine went to idle.i pulled onto a lot and stopped the engine while i looked up what the wrench light meant.when i restarted the car it sounded normal, but when i got back on the road and attempted to accelerate it did the same thing.i pulled off the road again and stopped the engine again for a short time.upon restarting i pulled back onto the road and could accelerate to about 20 mph without any problems.i then limped the car to the dealer, about 2 - 3 miles away, and left it.the next day the dealer called and advised me that the throttle body would have to be replaced (150 miles out of warranty) and the last one the did took 2 months to obtain.i have read on the internet that there have been 27,000 complaints like this one.isn't it about time for a recall!

As i was driving about 40 mph my mariner jerked then lost acceleration. I was able to pull off the roadway safely into a parking lot.after shutting the vehicle off and restarting it i was able to drive a few feet before it happened again. Again shut engine off and restarted. A few days later it happened again and i took it to the dealer who said it was the throttle body and it is on national back order but it is safe to continue driving to vehicle!!as i was driving home a few nights ago this happened again 4 times within 1 mile. Needless to say i will not be driving my vehicle until this is repaired. (and who know how long that will be!). Please recall this part before someone gets seriously hurt or killed!

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v777000 (fuel system). The part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The local dealer (summit ford 305 grant avenue, auburn, ny 13021) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Sudden loss of power, engine idles but no propulsion, speedometer instantly drops to zero.

Driving on local street vehicle lost power wrench warning light came on dash. Pulled over to side of road shut off engine. Restarted engine warning light went off.this happened multiple times with the engine check light also coming on. Took to dealer was diagnosed with code p2111 .

Driving to work at steady speed when all of a sudden the car lost acceleration. While i was able to steer to the side of the road, had i been in the middle of a turn or an entry on the highway, it could have resulted in an accident. Pulled over to side of the road. Turned off vehicle and restarted. Drove about 1/3 mile and it did it again. This time when i put the car in park and kept it running it felt like it was trying to jump out of gear and accelerate which was very scary. We determined by calling internet it was the throttle body. Called three ford dealerships where they were all sold out and back-ordered. We found one at the fourth and put it on ourself in 30 minutes. Cost $180 p/n ds7z9e926d.ford needs to do the right thing and recall the affected vehicles as they know it's a problem. They have multiple cars getting this problem fixed daily!!!!!!!

Lost power while making a left turnvehicle stalledrestarted but continued to stalltowed to repair shopreplaced the throttle body assembly.

When accelerating through an intersection, my vehicle lost acceleration power and the power brakes failed.after restarting the vehicle, the vehicle was slowly moved to a side street, backing-up traffic on the busy street.the vehicle was towed to a ford dealership and the diagnosis was that throttle body needed replacing.the service cost me $503 plus tax.

While operating vehicle at about 25 mph, the vehicle slowed to a limp. It didn't stall. After turning vehicle off and restarting it seemed fine for a few minutes then slowed again. Had vehicle towed to my mechanic. Code p2112 was indicated and a new throttle body was installed and re-programmed.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v777000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time as the recall notice was received over eight months ago. The dealer (freedom ford wv, 501 mary jane wood circle, university town centre, morgantown, wv 26501) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.parts distribution disconnect.

I have 2012 mercury mariner and ive had issues with my car going limp.when im driving uphill, my car loses power, the wrench light comes on and i have to pull over (coast over) to the side of the road and turn off my engine and restart my car.the dealer said it was throttle body.even though my car is under the mileage warranty, it is just over the 3 year warranty.it will cost $436 to repair/replace.my car lost acceleration power without warning and put me in dangerous situations several times.

9/8/2013 driving 60mph i felt a slight jolt and notice a yellow wrench light came on dashboard.then the mercury mariner decelerated and stalled to where i was able to move to shoulder off road, and turn engine off. At this point not knowing what to do i just turned car off for about 5 minutes and then re-start. There was no wrench light, but i did notice a hesitation for the car to catch. I drove home about 20 miles and the car drove rough as if it was having a hard time shifting and notice the rpm dancing back and forth from 3-1 on road inclines. Took it to mechanic and had a diagnostic test read no stored codes.what??? this happen within a2 day period, car would stall, yellow wrench light would appear on dash. Took it to a ford authorized dealer, and he knew exactly what is was throttle body malfunctioning.paid. $301for parts and labor.

Loss of power on highway..so thankful i didnt get hit by other vehicles..was so scared..the wrench came up on dash...ford said either drive train or throttle. ..let me say, i have 48000 miles ..if have to pay for this, may call lawyer..have so many complaints and ford had not anything about it...are they waiting for a death??? my suv was taken to ted russell ford parkside drive knoxville tennessee. ..have not heard the problem yet..very dissappointed with ford product...if not took care of..will never by another ford ever...

While driving home from work last night, vehicle suddenly declined in acceleration...started jerking and illumination of a "wrench" symbol appeared on the dashboard...never had any problems with this vehicle in the past besides routine maintenance...scared to drive it until problem is solved..

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner which was being towed by a 2004 fleetwood tioga montara. While driving approximately 60 mph, the contact noticed smoke coming from the hood. The motor home was pulled over, the contact opened the hood, and noticed that the transmission overheated without warning. The vehicle was taken to chuck colvin ford nissan (1925 n hwy 99 w, mcminnville, or 97128, 503-472-6124), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the failure was a known occurrence with the transmission at approximately 50,000 miles. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.

Driving at 50 miles per hour the suv lost all power and had to pull to the side of the road. Turned off vehicle and then restarted and ran fine. Three days later it happened again. Took it to the dealer and they told me it was the throttle body on the motor was bad.they said it wasn't covered under my drive train warranty and charged me 300.00 dollars.the suv only has 17,000 miles on it.. I read there is 27,000 complaints about this problem. Why is there not a recall on these vehicles?some one is going to get hurt or killed because of this problem.

While driving through road construction on the interstate my mariner lost power. I had my child in the backseat and was lucky enough to be able to pull over and turn off the engine. The power train light and engine light came on. I started it back up and continued until i could exit off the interstate and continue on the highway, where it happened again. Again, i turned off the engine and got it started back up. This happened one more time before i got it to the mechanic. He said that it was the throttle body and that it was on a national back order. There are 8,000 requests for this part! what will it take for ford to finally issue a recall on an obviously defective part, a fatality?

Twice in two days while speeding up to get on highway my mariner looses complete power and the wrench light comes on. Lucky for me it was just before i was turning on to merge. Seconds later it would have been a serious accident, due to the sudden stop. I had to shut the car off and start it back up in order to get going again. After reading #pe13003 has been file for the same exact problem with same make and model. Someone better react before someone looses a life. This is horrible.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated while stopped at an intersection, the vehicle started to jerk violently. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the axle seal was leaking fluid from the transmission. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician stated that the axle seal needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repair at this time. The failure mileage was 76,537.

Loss of all power, went to limp mode.happened after next 10 restarts in residential traffic then cleared.engine threw p2112 code, sticking throttle body.please issue recall.

Driving on local street vehicle lost power wrench warning light came on dash. Pulled over to side of road shut off engine. Restarted engine warning light went off.this happened multiple times with the engine check light also coming on. Took to dealer was diagnosed with code p2111 .

Car stopped running wrench light came on started motor put it in gear tried to go regular pace car did not go it is very slow no gas peddle turned it off let set for 2 hrs. Started back up runs ok but check eng. Lite came on called dealer

Was driving on the freeway going about 70 when i lost all power to accelerate. I noted the wrench symbol also had just came on. I was able to pull over to the shoulder and turn my car off. Before it turned off the car shook quite a bit. I let the car sit for about a minute re-started and noted the wrench was gone and i could accelerate. Later that day it happened to me again. Car is in shop and they told me it is a bad throttle body.

The contact owns a2010 mercury mariner . The contact stated that while driving 70 mph , the power train warning light illuminated as the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to be coasted to the side of the road and turned off. The contact was then able to restart the vehicle and drove to an authorized dealer where they were unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 35,000 and the current mileage was 43,696.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated that the power train and check engine light illuminated as the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the technician diagnosed that the internal transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage 62,307.

Throttle opens and closes inadvertently.

I was driving down a busy highway when my car jerked and then stalled.the accelerator would not work.i was able to pull over and turn the car off.the car restarted and accelerated normally.this occurred three more times.i took the car to the dealership and they said the part was on national backorder and sent me home (in the unsafe car).i now am waiting to hear about when they can get the part.

Sudden loss of power, engine idles but no propulsion, speedometer instantly drops to zero.

Driving when wrench symbol came on dashboard and rpms dropped to under 1 and speed dropped. Coasted into a parking lot at which point car completely shut down. Could turn car back on. Had towed and throttle body replaced.

I was driving my mariner and turn into a heavy traffic road and my car just went dead once i was in traffic.l was lucky that i wasn't hit from behind me.the car warnings displayed a wrench on the car panel.i took the car to the shop and it required repairs to the throttle control/power train.the car only has about 4600 miles on it.i have researched this problemon the internet and this is a recurring problems. There was no warning of a problem.the car just died in the middle of traffic.this is very dangerous and seem to be a known problem.does someone have to die before they get this problem is recalled?the problem occurred so quickly that if you are not observant to your panel, you will miss it.and, it you are in an accident when it occurs, you will never see it.

Our 2010 mercury mariner had a clunking and loss of power on two different occasions. The first time we brought it to the ford dealer and he checked codes, etc, only to find nothing. The clunking or loss of power did not came back for a while. Several months later while driving home from work, the clunking sound appeared again, there was an evident loss of power and the orange wrench displayed on the speedometer indicated an issue. I had to work on getting the vehicle up to speed and power again, slowing the traffic in back of me down.the vehile was purchased a year ago, almost to the day and has approximately 52,000 miles on it.i called the ford dealer who made arrangements to bring the vehicle in for a check up. Based on what i'm reading, these are known issues with a throttle? not certain if there's a recall or not but will certainly find out. Basically, our vehicle is unsafe to drive.

Had test done and was told throttle body is bad. Can not get part in because its on back order.

While my wife were going out to dinner we were driving on the highway at 45 mph. I noticed a yellow wrench warning light appear on the dash. The car started losing power and began jerking. I could not accelerate and the speedometer dropped to 0. I coasted to the shoulder and stopped. I had to have aaa tow the car to my mechanic. He ran different tests and the readout he got from the computer was the throttle body assembly. He has a priority order for the part and said there is a national backorder on this part. I have an extended warranty with (nac) and they told him they will not pay for the part. I have to pay close to $820 for the part and labor. Ford has known about this problem with the 2010 mariner but will not have a recall. Do people have to die before ford motor company acts? this is a disgrace for the consumer.

My 2010 mercury mariner has started jerking when i attempt to slow down. It is jerking unbearably hard. I took it to a local garage, had both front and back brakes replaced. That did not fix the problem. While the backend of the car is jacked up, the back right wheel will still turn while holding the brakes??? the jerking of the car is almost as if the car is skipping a gear or trying to switch gears. The car is also making a whinning sound. I feel as if this is a safety issue that ford should be responsible for. This is my second ford suv with my first being a 2002 ford escape and i had a lot of "mystery" problems with it that no one could fix!!!

While traveling at 65, wrench powertrain light came on.able to get to side of road.called ford roadside, wrecker towed to dealership.found faulty throttle body.replaced under extended warranty.scary situation.

While driving approx. 45 mph the wrench-shaped warning light came on and i lost propulsion...engine still running, radio, a/c still operating but 0 rpms. I coasted to a stop on a side road and called a tow truck. Mechanic tells me it is a failed throttle body and will be pretty expensive to replace.

I was driving at 65+ mph on expressway - vehicle stopped accelerating and a violent shaking of the vehicle occurred forcing me off the highway- at this time notice an image of a "wrench"lit up on dash -- i was able to get vehicle to the dealer - not worried due to i still had 2000 miles left on warranty, only to be told this is not covered under warranty.my question is this is huge safety issue and should under no questions be a charge to the consumer.i was charged 309.20 to replace the throttle body motor and assembly.after much research this is an ongoing problem with many of the ford vehicles.attached is the invoice that i had to pay. I have tried to obtain the zone rep for my area and i am having trouble getting this info from my dealer.i am still investigating as to how to obtain this info as i believe someone in higher position then dealer needs to be aware.

Vehicle surged slightly for a few seconds then accelerator would not work. Wrench light came on. Had to pull over to side of the road, shut vehicle off, restart and it then worked the 10 remaining miles to home. I had just read about this happening a cpl days previous so i knew what it was immediately.

Driving at 45 mph and car went into limp mode.called for a tow truck to my dealer where i bought the car only 6 months ago.they said it was the throttle body.did lots of research to find this is a huge issue that needs to be recalled.ford needs to take responsibility before more get injured!my dealer refuses to cover this repair nor can give me an eta because this is on national backorder.because this happens so much.too, once the new throttle body comes, i'm sure i'd have the same issue as the part is a defect.

Was driving on interstate highway and accelerator speed dropped to a crawl. Pulled over and saw the wrench symbol. Got the manual out and it said throttle body/powertrain issue. Waited and restarted only 2 miles down the road again and that same thing happened. Car was still running but just going abt 2 mph if that. Very dangerous situation!

I was driving on the interstate when my gas pedal completely stopped working.the only indicator was the wrench light that came on at the same time the gas pedal stopping functioning.i almost had an accident trying to make my way to a shoulder with no way to accelerate during rush hour traffic.after being at the dealership, it was determined that the throttle body was bad and had to be replaced costing $500.00.

I was trying to accelerate at a stop light and the transmission (?) did not engage. When i came to a stop light the car jerked like it was it could not switch gears.

Intermittently loosing power, intermittent wrench light.power loss happens when going up hill from a stop or even when at a rate of speed on the freeway.goes completely limp, but does not shut off.almost rear ended by a semi yesterday morning.the wrench light goes off and stays off for a bit once you shut the car off, making diagnoses very hard. What once was so intermittent it was thought to be a fluke, is happening with more regularity.and i see other complaints but no recall for this issue, so i know i am not the only one having this extremely dangerous issue.

I was driving my 2010 mercury mariner premium fwd to my mothers for christmas '14 when the engine light wrench came on and i felt a loss in power. Luckily i was near a rest stop and i shut off engine and let it sit after running a vehicle health report.report said: urgent power train malfunction / reduced power. After restarting the vehicle, it seemed fine.this was when i still had about three hours left of driving in my eight hour drive. When i was about an hour away again the light came on and the same power reduction occurred. I took it to be looked at to the local ford dealer near my mothers and was told the valve body needed to be replaced. This was at 74,000 miles. So i did. I had this happen once before (i had 58,000 miles on it) when driving to a shopping center after driving 45 minutes on the highway from home. Only happened when driving long distance. When i got off the exit, it jerked and quickly stopped and i had to pull over. If a car was behind me it could have caused an accident..i drove it to the dealership and was told that i had a couple recalls (computer updates) and a service extension for the throttle body. Should fix the issue so it won't happen again said the mechanic.transmission fluid was flushed cause it was burnt also. Had no issues afterwards until my christmas trip.i feel i could have been in an accident and seriously hurt if it had jerked while changing gears on a busy road.i would like to know why there is a throttle body recall but not a valve body recall?if these issues can cause a quick jerk or lost power causing a quick slow-down, seems like there should be a recall for both.it appears i am not the only one with these types of issues after googling the issue.seems like its time to get these transmissions fixed correctly before someone is killed or seriously injured! please recall now b4 it's too late!

Throttle body,,,, driving down the street..all of the sudden a wrench appears and the car does not go... Have to try and safely pull over...have to shut the car off and restart it,,, this has happened 6 times in the past week...going approx 30 mph---. Also happened about a month ago on the freeway going about 70 mph....very scared..this car is going to get me killed!

Driving to work on 1431, the car felt as though it hit a bump, lost all ability to drive. Pulled over to side of road, turned car off for about 10 to 15 seconds and then back on. At this point it seem to operate properly. Then about three miles down the road it did the same thing again. This time there was no shoulder to pull off on, so traffic was tied up. Was traveling at about 40 mph this time. Did the same thing, turned off and then back on and seemed to work normal. Later that evening going home from work the car did the same thing, two more times before i reached home. One time as i was going from palmer to 1431 on a curve. The next time it was on a slight incline going home.the icon on dashboard was a wrench which indicates it had something to do with the throttle control.took to dealer and they confirmed it was a defective throttle control unit, and charged $650 to repair. Believe that this is/was a serious problem safety wise and should have been covered by ford.

I was driving on the highway at bout 70 mph and all of a sudden, the gas pedal went limp and i couldn't accelerate anymore. I slowed down to about 45 mph with cars flying past me. I was able to move to the shoulder and turn the car off. I had no idea what happened so i called my boyfriend and he came and checked the oil and a few other things but everything seemed to be ok. I got back in the car and it started fine and i was able to drive it home. I am afraid to drive my car on the freeway again knowing this problem could and probably will keep happening until i get the part replaced.

I was driving my 2010 mercury mariner , when the engine lite came on with a little wrench lite. My car started to lose power and i could not get it to pick up power. I pulled of the road. I turned off mycar, i didn't know if it would start again .very scary.i have only 86000 mile on it.

On feb 2010, i signed a 3-yr lease on a 2010 mercury mariner. On dec 23, 2011, after 8hrs of driving, on the way to my relatives, the vehicle started jerking.with 22,250 miles on the vehicle, my transmission failed; very harsh engagements, vehicle jerks hard between gears, looses power and pops forward when driving steady speed and when approaching an intersection to stop or turn. Safety concerns due to unknown if power failure will occur when there is oncoming traffic or if vehicle will pop me into oncoming traffic or hit someone ahead of me in traffic. Transmission issue also causes poor gas mileage. On 12/24/11, i took it to a nearby ford dealership and they have had my truck going on two weeks and they are just repairing the transmission. Since i leased this through ford motor credit, i contacted them last night in hopes that they will at least pro-rate my lease for the month. To no avail, they said they can't. The dealership said that there is no recall for this problem but it seems like i am not the only one experiencing these issues.what can i do?

I purchased 2010 mercury mariner at the end of may 2010, approximately 21 weeks after purchase date my transmission failed; very harsh engagements, vehicle jerks hard between gears, looses power and pops forward when driving steady speed and when approaching an intersection to stop or turn.safety concerns due to unknown if power failure will occur when there is oncoming traffic or if vehicle will pop me into oncoming traffic or hit someone ahead of me in traffic.transmission issue also causes poor gas mileage. Ford dealership replaced transmission in 10/16/10 (13 days with dealership) and stated vehicle issues were corrected.i returned vehicle to dealership for continued transmission safety issues (same as noted above) on 12/06/10 (4 days with dealership), again on 1/11/11 (16 days with dealership) after i had submitted 30 demand letter on 12/15/10 to repair or repurchase vehicle and dealership advised each time transmission repair completed.yet each time transmission issues/concerns still remain. Dealership service manager drove vehicle and agreed there are transmission issues/concerns.ford customer relations advised a tsb would be issued prior to end of june 2011 that would correct transmission and offered an extended power train warranty of 60 months or 100,000 miles. I have sent emails to ford customer relations inquiring on the tsb on 6/27/11, 6/29/11 and 7/7/11, no response received.no tsb to date. Ford motor company is not standing behind their vehicle production nor the consumer that purchased this vehicle.

Takata recallhad just stopped at a red light when the car behind me ran into me. The speed limit on that road is 60 mph , but sure how fast he was going when he hit us. But, immediately after impact i noticed my seat belt was no longer on. It had unbuckled on impact.

Car stalled while my granddaughter was driving on the highway. It also did not accelerate. She had to step on the brakes to get the car to move. She immediately got a diagnosis from auto zone (throttle body system open- p2111), then took the car to the ford dealership where the problem was confirmed andrepaired. An emergency light came on during this problem.

My break peddle goes almost to thefloor of the car when icome to a red light or stop sign. I've brought my vehicle to the dealership on 4 seperate occasions and was told that they could not find anything wrong with my breaks.i recently brought to an independent repair shop and was told that ineeded a new master cylinder. The master cylinder was replaced but i'm still having trouble with the position of the break when i come to a stop. There are several owners on line complaining about the same issue.can someone please look into this and get back with me?

When pulling up to home to park along street and brakes would not engage.hear a loud noise and brake message popped up on dashboard. Brake pedal fell to floor. Pulled emergency break to stop vehicle. Had vehicle towed to car docs in rocklin ca where they diagnosed the abs module (and other module failure). They stated that this tends to happen on older ford/mercury hybrids, and they were surprised that there wasn't a recall.

While driving west on i-80 at night at 75mph in wyoming the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of power steering without notice. A ford dealer says the epas system failed and has to be replaced by the owner for $800. This occurred even after the ford epas pscm recall reprograming was performed in 07/2014.

When i am driving turning the wheel it make a loud clicking sound

In motion on a street a power steering assist fault warning came on, shortly after lost power steering.informed by ford it was fixed after recall on sep 22nd 2014, and is no longer valid or covered?same problem happening again as the first recall

My 2010 mercury mariner i recently purchased suddenly became extremely difficult to steer requiring alot of effort to turn the vehicle. Luckily no accident occurred. I later found a safety recall on the nhtsa website that stated this could happen with this vehicle and that ford would repair the problem free of charge. When i called ford/lincoln they said that this vehicle had been looked at a few months ago and had not displayed this problem as of then so no parts were replaced. Now that it actually has displayed the lack of steering problem that the recall states it could, ford says they don't have to fix it now because they already looked at it before it did it... What??? i am hoping you at the nhtsa will help me to get ford to follow through on honoring their safety recall with my vehicle as the recall states that ford is responsible for the cost of repairs to fix this issue with the steering that my vehicle is experiencing. Obviously since my vehicle did exactly what the safety recall said it could do, ford did nothing to correct this problem when they claim to have looked at it before. Therefore, ford should still be required to honor the safety recall and correct this issue. Thank you.

Was slowing to turn in shopping plaza lose power steering almost ran women over cross drive way car would not steer without much force this is dangerous how many must die before ford fixes this do they remember gas tanks ? my next call is to 60 minutes .

The other day my grandmother streering wheel locked on her mercury as she was driving down the highway going 60 mph. Thank god she was able to stop the car with out getting hit. I did some research on this make and model and they have a recall on this problem just not with the vehicles just depends on where it was made. Which i thing is wrong if they have many recalls in the same make and model they should have them on all of them..

Original owner: the vehicle would was parked without issue yesterday. Backed it up this morning and there was no power steering. Shut it off and tried again and there was still no power steering. On the third attempt, the power steering returned and i very cautiously drove it to the dealership. There were no error messages displayed or warnings while it was out. (change oil reminder was lit). Dealership ran diagnostics and tried to recreate the issue without problems. This vehicle was built in the kansas city plant during the time of the recall from oct 2014, but for some reason, the vin is not included. Authorized ford dealership recommended "based on concern only" to "replace the elec. Steering torque sensor and recalibration."i don't feel safe driving this or selling to someone else, even with the repair!!

When filling gas tank yesterday once full gas leaked from under the wheel well onto the tires.the car was parked at a gas station.i was asked to move the car away from the pump by the gas attendant.

Power steering assist faulthappens while drivingrecall should be extended to cover more vehicles

On my dash it's says "power assist fault" i've done some research and it seems there have been tons of these mercury's recalled because of the power assist fault going out and vehicles loosing control of there vehicles. My vehicle is a few months shy if meeting the date in which these mercury's were recalled. I think it's a huge safety risk. And beings in a single mother of 2 little girls i think maybe my mercury should be fixed. Mine is legit messed up. I can barley turn it. The power steering is all jacked around and its causing other issues. Such as not my car needs aligned. I wanted to know how come mine is messed up but because of just a few months mine doesn't have the recall. Please help me keep my kids safe. Thank you i'm located in scottsville ky 42164

My torque sensor failed after recall 14s05 was performed.this almost caused an accidentgoing 70 mph on i70 because the power steering assist went into manual mode with no warning. Have taken the vehicle to larry h miller ford for service found bad torque sensor which was supposed to have been fixed with the recall. I have tried to work with ford and have had no luck with any resolution and i am getting the run around.from doing my research, i am not the only one with this issue and i do believe ford has not met their obligation to this recall.i was told that if i had not brought my vehicle in for the recall i may be eligible for the replacement.so if i had let it go they would fix the problem. But, because i had the recall addressed it's my problem.do not think ford is fixing the problem they are putting a bandage on it.ford's recall fix, only re-flashed the computer software and did not provide a hardware fix for the torque sensor itself, which failed for a second time.

I'm very upset and on the verge of tears! as i pulled out of the bank yesterday, i made a left hand turn and my steering wheel suddenly locked on me! i almost wrecked! on july 21, 2014 i took my car to freedom ford in mcalester, ok for recall #14s05. I was told the models would be updated to " power steering assist fault! so afterwards i left on my merry way knowing that i would never have to worry about this issue again! wrong! is there anything ford can do to back up what they said? they said updating the modules would "prevent" this from happening? why didn't they just say that in a few years it will happen so be careful?? i"m so upset! please help me! i cannot afford to buy the $1,600. Part that ford says i need!i really thing there should be an updated recall for this issue that was not resolved by updating modules!

I have found a recall on this issue but the dealership says my vin isn't included in the recall. My vehicle was produced 02/2010 which falls in the time frame of the recall.

I have a 2010 mercury mariner.there was a recall for the power steering. I didn't get it taken in right away, just took it in december 2018 for oil change and had dealership take care of recall also. They updated the software but that is when my trouble started with the power steering.steering wheel had a twitch, shaking by itself while car was running at idle.when the shaking got real bad i took it to dealer march 7 2019 to be fixed under recall for power steering assist loss. The recall started july 25 2014 with no end date of recall.they told me that they couldn't fix it under the recall because ford said it had been to long after the recall. Basically they were saying the recall was outdated. They told me i could have it fixed for $800 out of pocket.a recall should never be outdated but go the life of the vehicle. Every vehicle is different when the the part goes bad after a recall happens. Mine was almost 5 years after recall started. It is a safety issue because your power steering goes out if not fixed after the steering wheel starts twitching.my power steering went out 2 days after i had taken it in to the dealership to have it fixed for what i thought was a real recall.apparently ford has fake recalls.when you take your vehicle in they refuse to fix it because they say what recall.the power steering went out when i stopped to get gas. I started the car back up after getting gas it was gone.i called ford customer service number march 14 2019.i let them know what my issue was.they did there research and called me back march 15 2019 only to let me know that the update the dealership did in december 2018 was the fix. It was one and done. They were not doing anything else, they told me.so the update cancelled out the real fix of changing the torque sensor in the steering column which 2 days later left me without power steering.

It happened about once a month, i would have no power steering when in traffic, in motion, turning for about 3 - 5 seconds, then back to normal steering.i didn't know about any recall at the time.then while in motion, turning into traffic power steering stopped completely, with message "power steering assist fault"i looked online, and found out about the recall.dealer says steering recall was completed but i was never notified when. The problem has never stopped for me.now it is a permanent problem, and dealer says no warranty, no recall.can i force the dealer to re-do the recall somehow?

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated while driving approximately30 mph, the steering wheel locked without warning on multiple occasions upon making a turn. The contact had to apply excessive force in order to fully turn the steering wheel left or right on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle will be repaired. The vin was not available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

Power steering assist lite up on dash board.power steering went out.can not steer car as i attempted to turn anddrive out of parking lot.parked car and not driving car.

My car has a malfunction with the power steering assist. It went out of my on the freeway coming home from glendale, az to riverton, ut. It was so scary and so difficult to get home! my mechanic informed me there was a recall on this part. However, somehow my vin is not showing this recall even though it is the exact year, make and model affected. After doing some research it turns out that ford only recalled a fraction of the vehicles that was manufactured with this faulty part. How are they only accountable for some of the vehicles affected? clearly i have the same faulty part in my vehicle. I've called every dealership in the valley trying to find information on why it is a "lottery" on who gets the recall fixed and who doesn't. They have basically all told me to get stuffed. I can't drive my car and the part if very difficult to find outside of the dealership, who i do not want to go through after having them refuse to correct an issue that has a recall associated with it. Fords recall 14s05.

Power steering went out. There was a recall i see but for some reason mine isnt covered. Its a 2010 and just turned 70k miles. I see this is common but cant find a fix online.

I was driving my car like any day normally came home park the carand asked my daughter to put my car in garage.but she cameback and said my steering wheel was hard to turn.i went out and tried and i could barely turn the steering wheel

A malfunction of the electric power steering, i cant steer my vehicle.it is difficult to steer and control the vehicle. I was driving and the steering start wobbling and making noise vibrating and the steering go real stiff. I called the recall department they told me it was a recall on the torque sensor or pscm july 2014 to take it to the dealer to get approval to let them know , i did they checked it out said it was the torque sensor, called ford to get approval because it was on the recall list, was denied. I don't understand you said if this problem shows a history loss of the torque sensor signal or fail codes relating to the pscm when i brought in for the recall remedy, the affected components will be replaced free of charge. You told me the recall was july 2014 and at that time you reset the pscm and cluster module. That didnot fix the problem only put a bandaid on the real problem. I did not own my vehicle in 2014. This is happening again. After the first recall. Another recall. Why wont you fix it my arms shoulder neck and head are injured because you will not fix what is a part that consistantly break down or malfunction that'shappening over and over. It should be set for another recall. This could not be happening only to me. Driving on city streets in motion with bad steering issues.

Has my grandma was driving down the highway going 60 mph the steering wheel locked on here and wasn?t able to move it. Luckily she was at the last lane and able to get on the emergency lane and not car hit here. I did research on this and it said that many other year make and models had a recall. For some reason they didn?t do a recall on all of them just somedone at some parts of the state when they are all made for the same company. If you can let me know how or why her suv ain't under the recall. If she didn't have that bit of luck that day she could've be injured very bad and injured others as well for the steering wheel just to lock while driving. This happen in san antonio tx on highway 35.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated that the power steering was faulty. The contact had to exert excessive strength to steer the vehicle. The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, he noticed rust and holes on both rear passenger and driver side wheel well. The dealer liberty ford brunswick (3101 center rd, brunswick, oh 44212 (888) 499-5134) was contacted and informed the contact that the warranty was only in effect for five years. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and no further assistance was offered. The contact stated the manufacturer referred him to nhtsa. The passenger-side, liftgate glass hinge on the rear window broke due to corrosion on a bolt.the window is now loose and sagging on that side.we took it to a repair shop today, and the mechanic noticed that the hinge on the driver's side in also very corroded, and said it will likely break soon. (there are white streaks from the corrosion running down the window.) the window would be at risk of falling out. If this happened on the highway, it could present a very real danger to cars following us. I looked online after we returned from the shop, and found comments from hundreds of other mariner and escape owners that had experienced the same problem.many said that they had contacted their dealers to see if this problem was covered by a recall. When they discovered that it wasn't, a great number of them either made the repair themselves, or went to an independent mechanic, since the dealers were charging up to $850 to make this repair. So, many of these repairs weren't made by dealers where they could be tracked for a possible recall.

Rear hatch window hinges cracked due to the metal deteriorating causing the window to shift and become loose and subject to falling away from the vehicle. I had the hinges replaced on 1-25-17 prior to any accident that could have resulted. My online research shows ford has not taken any responsibility for the defective window hinge laches

2010 ford mercury mariner. Need i say more? this vehicle has everything wrong with it!! ford should recall the entire vehicle and give out cars that work. My vehicle has been through the throttle body recall that left me stalled in the middle of a busy intersection. Thankfully i didn't die.i have two more recalls to get fixed and the most recent fun took place on 01/04/2016 when the rear liftgate shattered when closing. This happened at nighttime in january after temps had fallen to 20 degrees. The vehicle was stationary and parked in the driveway.

Rear hatch doesn't seal tightly, resulting in leak when it's raining- then because of leak (i think) the rear defrost doesn't work- and i'm in michigan!also, the sealcoat on the rims chipped/wore off?this resulted in rims rusting and when i had tires replaced, now the tire won't seal to the rim edge because of pitting.now i have no rear defrost, a leaking lift gate, and have to replace rims because the sealcoat failure allowed my rims to rust.the lift gate and rear defrost failure happened a couple months after my warranty time expired (my car only has 25k miles on it); and the rim i just found out after replacing all four tires due to 'dry rot' (not worn down) from the car not getting driven all the time.

Driving home from work in the pouring rain going 45mp, my hood flewopen, bustedmy windshield, damaged the hood and a few other things, i could not see where i was going as i was scared did not know what happened i finally pulled of the road and sat there confused, apparently the safety latch did not catch , this should never of happened, so going on 3 weeks and 2,500 in damages and no vechicle later we cannot understand how this could of happened.

Rear liftgate glass shattered suddenly while opening/closing rear liftgate. Automobile was parked.

Car stopped running wrench light came on started motor put it in gear tried to go regular pace car did not go it is very slow no gas peddle turned it off let set for 2 hrs. Started back up runs ok but check eng. Lite came on called dealer

Car shuts off when driving. Mechanics can not replicate issue.

When filling gas tank yesterday once full gas leaked from under the wheel well onto the tires.the car was parked at a gas station.i was asked to move the car away from the pump by the gas attendant.

I had just gotten off the highwayand my wrenc symbol illuminated and the car immediately went into limp mode. I crawled to a safe spot. It was a very dangerous situation. No warning at all

I have been so happy with this car for 3 years.i take excellent care of everything it needs.first ford i ever owned... I had two separate occasions of my car stalling in the past three days. On may 1st i was traveling at about 40 mph when my wrench light came on and the car stalled out. Fortunately there was a median right by me and i was able to hurry up and move over before the car came to a complete stop. On may 3rd i was traveling at about 35 mph when the wrench light came on and my car stalled out in middle of the road. This time i was stuck in middle of the road but no one was behind me. I was able to restart the car and continue driving. If this had happened on the main road then there would have been a good chance of an accident occurring and harming me or my children.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated while driving various speeds the accelerator pedal was engaged without any response. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road where the engine was turned off. Upon restarting the vehicle, it resumed normally. The failure recurred at least four to five times a day. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the throttle body was replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 72,000.

Driving to work when the wrench light came on and the car started to buck.then the engine light came on and the car slowed down to 0 when i stepped on the gas pedal.had to pull over quickly as i was in traffic and shut the car off.started it up again and only the check engine light was on - car would only go about 15 mph.found out it was a common problem being looked at by nhtsa.power train throttle body had to be replaced.not covered under warranty.i am not a happy camper it was not cheap to fix.eec test code p2111i found this on the web and was surprised to find out it has been happening since the model year 2009. Shame on ford.

The car just died on the motorway and left me in a dangerous situation.the problem is an ineffective throttle body ( code p2111 ).

Very dangerous throttle body malfunction:as i was accelerating from approximately 35 mph i pressed the gas and suddenly there was no power...nothing.i had power steering and brakes but the car slowed down rapidly and went into what i later found out was safe mode. It was idling rough and the car was slowing down rapidly because i was on a slight incline.a wrench appeared on the dashboard.this happened four more time in three days.the throttle body was replaced.this was extremely dangerous because where this occured the speed limit was 55 mph, i do a lot of highway driving and i was very lucky this did not happen on the expressway.no code appeared on the diagnostic code reader even though this occured four more times.

I was driving approx. 55mph on the parkway when my vehicle gave me a kick back (shook a little) and began to decelerate until it completely stopped.i could not get the vehicle to accelerate and had to pull over to the side of the road where i turned the vehicle off, turned it back on, and was able to drive again.i drove approx. 3 miles before the problem occurred a second time, this time i was unable to make it all the way to the shoulder before the vehicle completely stopped so i ended up at a dead stop in a turn lane.i was able to get the car to the shop without any issues occurring again and was told the issue was reading as "p2112 throttle actuator control stuck closed" - the entire part needs to be replaced and will cost me $400 as it is not covered under warranty.i called fomoco and was told that they were not aware of this issue despite many complaints i have seen online through the nhtsa.i am hopeful that ford will come through and pay for a portion (if not all) of this repair as this was an extremely dangerous incident and one that is clearly occurring with many of their vehicles with the drive-by-wire throttle.if ford does not recall this, it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously or fatally injured.i can only imagine if i would have been driving down i-95 at the time my throttle failed.

Had test done and was told throttle body is bad. Can not get part in because its on back order.

While i was driving on highway at 70mph - in cruise control, car suddenly starting losing speed.tried to resume speed but was not able to accelerate, so i pulled over.while stopped, car started acting like it wanted to stall so i shut car off and had it towed to shop.mechanic states they are getting a throttle body error.

The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where a diagnostic was performed, which located the failure at the throttle body. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure and mileage was 88,000. Updated 10/17/13the vehicle was repaired on sept 6, 2013

The car would not accelerate and the wrench symbol illuminated. I had to pull over turn off the car and restart it.

I was driving on a very busy avenue at about 5:45pm and my vehicle stopped accelerating.the wrench light appeared on my dashboard and my vehicle was basically putt-putting down the road at a very slow speed.due to the fact that my vehicle stopped accelerating, i was almost in a very bad accident.i was able to pull over to a parking space about a 1/4 of a mile and shut off my car vehicle.i called my local repair shop and told them to expect me.i had plans of having the car towed.after about 5 minutes of having my vehicle off, i tried to start it and it was running normally.my repair shop test drove the vehicle and the next day and didn't find anything wrong. They also didn't find any codes appearing in the vehicles memory.they did find an article online about the same thing happening to the same type vehicles.i called my ford dealership and they said there were no recalls and were going to check if there were any bulletins.i am waiting a phone call back.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated that while traveling 40 mph, the vehicle suddenly decelerated and would not go more than 2 mph. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and it was determined that the throttle body had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 60,000.

While driving in heavy traffic in center lane of three line highway. Vehicle suddenly lost power creating a emergency situation. I hadto force traffic to allow me proceed to side of the road. Endangering myself and my family, i sat for about 30 min. Before i could move the vehicle.

Just when 3 years was up! sigh

The vehicle started to stall when the accelerator peddle was engaged, after turning vehicle off and restarting it would travel approximately 50 to 100ft. Before again stalling.

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner.the contact stated that the vehicle stalled twice and without warning. The contact stated that the power train warning light illuminated on the instrument panel after the failure occurred. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mielages were 35,500.

This is a letter i wrote to my repair service on 8-3-12."this has happened three times in the last two days and is a very dangerous vehicle to drive.when driving the vehicle on a side street once and twice on the expressway, the vehicle suddenly loses power and while the engine is running i could not accelerate.the engine light and tool light both came on and twice just the tool light came on (the wrench).nothing could be done to regain speed.it seemed as though the accelerator pedal was disabled.i had to pull over to the shoulder of the road, turn the engine off and restart the car.if i had not been close to a shoulder, this would have been most dangerous for me and for the traffic behind me.the car just loses all power and getting it to the side of the road and out of the way of traffic is a dangerous endeavor.this car cannot be driven safely. "i drove the car to a close by local repair shop.the same thing happened to a shop employee.the owner of the shop recommended taking the car to a dealer.i am not a timid driver, but i was afraid to drive the car and had it towed ($52.50) to the ford dealership.the cost to replace a throttle body was $516.08.i read recently that the car was reported to supply limp-home speeds.i did not experience this and definitely feel this is a very dangerous problem.

When intering to tunnel my car suddenly speed upit felt like i had the gas pedle down to the floor. Even while holding the brake all the way down, this did not slow the car down much. There were no warning lights or check engine lights on then or now

Driving 45 mph when the car lost the ability to accelerate and maintain current speed. The yellow solid wrench light came on, the engine remained running, and the car coasted to a stop. The driver turned off the car waited a couple minutes then restarted and car operated normally. This problem happen four additional times and was diagnosed at a ford certified dealership as having a defective throttle body. Throttle body was replaced and car operated normally for now. Every occurrence was a potentially dangerous situation as i was in traffic.

Going 65 miles down interstate during rush hour traffic and lost all power had to weave to side of road to get out of traffic had to have repaired was throttle body.

Electronic throttle body p2119 code. All of the sudden losses power going into or out of traffic and the wrench tool light "lights up" it may go away by itself or not , "cut be scary" at times it has shut down in several instances on my own st or down the ave or another town etc... For no apparent reason it happens while turning or during acceleration at one point i had to wait for several minutes on the highway before starting the vehicle again and i get similar codes related to tbs powertrain and the fuel cap i noticed that when filling up, i need to stop pumping gas once it has stops automatically, without me topping it off not even once! and the light will most likely will not come on,it may go away by itself if noti erase the code.i clean the electronic throttle body last summer and it has run with no problems at all until now! well a month a go! this summer i am getting lots of problems with the tbs again same symptoms like before all over again, except for the gas light.thank you

The contact owns a 2010 mercury mariner. The contact stated while driving 70 mph the vehicle suddenly stalled. The check engine warning light illuminated and the contact was able to drive onto the emergency lane. The contact shut the vehicle off and was able to restart it. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who stated the throttle was defective. The dealer replaced the throttle. The failure mileage was 68,000.

Lost power while making a left turnvehicle stalledrestarted but continued to stalltowed to repair shopreplaced the throttle body assembly.

Driving from columbus to cincinnati around 1:00 am with my daughter, son and 15 month old granddaughter.the car lost all power leaving us stranded on the side of the road.as i pulled over the car began to shake, almost like there was water in the gas line.i turned the car off, waited a few minutes and then restarted.the car reset itself and luckily we made it the rest of the way home.not too long after that, i was driving home from work and it did the same thing.except this time, it would only go about 2 miles before it would quit again.this is a very dangerous issue.no only could i have been in an accident, but being stranded on the side of the expressway in the middle of the night with an infant was terrifying!i had the throttle valve sensor replaced and there has not been any additional instances of power failure.

Throttle body is gone i get the p2111 code this part is costing me 440.00 dollars the warranty the company sold me does not cover it and that is a joke also.

Vin in this form would not let me add the 17th digit.the 17th digit is a 6. I shut rear door of mercury mariner and rear window shattered-exploded into little pieces no larger and 1 inch. Temperature 40 degrees. Cloudy. No one was injured.shattered pieces fell onto a parking lot.

My wife went to shut the back lift gate and window exploded in to small pieces.

Went to shut back door on vehicle and the back glass just exploded. Glass went every where me and my children were hit with glass but no injuries.

As i was driving 55 mph on a us route (no overpasses in the area), i heard what sounded like a gun shot and then the glass of my sunroof shattering. The interior shade was closed so i could not see the damage immediately. When i pulled off the road there was a large hole in the center of the sunroof glass and the glass was raised upwards as though it had been impacted from an object thrown from inside the vehicle. There was no evidence of any object that might have impacted it from the outside.
