'takata recall'

The air bag warning light came on after starting car. Took to ford dealer. The passenger front seat belt assy needs to be replaced due to internal fault. If not replaced, air bag will not deploy in event of an accident.

The contact owns a 2007 mercury grand marquis. When the vehicle was started, the passenger side air bag warning indicator illuminated and remained lit. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (miracle automotive group, gallatin, tn 37066) where it was diagnosed that the air bag was defective and needed to be repaired at the owner's expense. About 3 years ago my air bag light came on and has been on ever since.i took my car to my dealership, marshall brothers.i told the service guy that the light stays on.he said that he has been seeing this problem in other mercuries and that they should be issuing a recall.he said that both seats in the front had to be taken out and that it would cost $1500 for the repair.while waiting for the recall, marshall brothers went out of business.i am still waiting for the recall while driving around with this air bag light on.when will this be recalled?does this mean anything is wrong with the actual air bag?is thisa takata air bag?as long as the engine is running the air bag light is on.

The air bag light stays on all the time while driving.mechanic says under this condition the air bags will not inflate or function properly.

Headon collision, totaled car, airbag did not deploy.

The fuel gauge will not come off empty after filling the gas with gas. It takes a long while (30 minutes) to get to where it should be.

Smelled gas when exiting the vehicle. Confirmed a fuel leak in the fuel tank by observing a fuel drip. Continued driving the car for a few days. On june 15, 2020, i noticed a strange noise as i drove, something rubbing or bumping on the frame under the car. While driving, the noise increased and intensified. I was forced to pull over and check under the car. To my horror i saw the gas tank dragging on the road. A tow truck would not tow the vehicle. My brother and i tied the tank up under the car using a nylon strap to get the car home. I called the dealership to fix the car.i now have an aftermarket tank on my car. Ford does not make the tank anymore.the car was in motion on a city street when the tank fell. I believe the problem was caused by a fuel tank strap failure. The fuel leak was also directly related to the strap supporting the tank.

Paint coming off the hood and other parts of the vehicle distracting the driver, sticking to the windshield while driving in wet conditions.

The paint on my 2007 mercury grand marquis started peeling off in march 2009, it is happening around the grill. This is clearly a paint defect, as stated by a local body shop. In order to repair, paint has to be grinded down to bare metal as paint primer did not bond with metal properly. Cost to repaint car is estimated at $300. This same problem was seen in earlier model ford and mercury vehicles. It is cause by contamination on the aluminum parts before they are painted. A tsb was issued to fix this on the earlier vehicles.

When i go to apply the brakes, if my foot is not on the brake pedal just right my foot ends up on the gas pedal and my car lunges forward. This has happened quit a few times since i owned this car. I feel the brake and gas pedals are too close together. I don't know if there have been any other complaints, but i feel it is a real problem and could cause me to wreck my car.

Normal drivingfailure started with paint pealing off and continuingnothing has been as yet to correct problem.

Paint is blistering off the roof.

First the paint started pealing on driver side door. I thought it was tape because the window was broken, and i had to put plastic over the window until glass dealer could get window.now the hood is peeling too. The color is silver metallic it was purchased brand new in massachusetts.

The car had less than 38,000 miles, it had just past the warranty period and the paint started blistering on the top, trunk and hood.

Paint cracked and lifted from 3 spots on front of roof, front fender and rear panel area below roof. In all three instances, the paint has separated from the body leaving area exposed to rust. Paint in question is palm beach edition birchwood silver. A number of experienced body painters report that this has been an ongoing problem peculiar to this color. Complaints to ford have been ignored.

Paint on roof is blistering and peeling. We noticed it last week as the peeling is lifting real high from roof surface. It looks as if it has blistered thru the clearcoat as well as the paint it's self. It is down to bare metal no primer, not showing signs of rust yet.08/08/10, our grand marquis is a 2007 silver/grey in color. We live in nc. Otherwise we love this vehicle and have had no other problems.

The contact owns a 2007 mercury grand marquis. The contact stated that the paint on the vehicle has started to strip and the roof has rusted. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer and advised him that the paint was delaminating and needed to be repainted. The manufacturer was contacted and advised him that they won't assist unless the roof has totally rusted through. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

The contact owns a 2007 mercury grand marquis. The contact stated that the vehicle was exhibiting rust, causing the paint to peel from the hood and roof areas.the contact mentioned that the peeling paint would hit the windshield and distract the driver, which the contact was concerned could potentially lead to a crash. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer, who advised him that the paint was delaminating and needed to be repainted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 59,000.updated 04/17/14 ma

Paint failure where the top meets the main body.the paint blisters and then peels off.i believe it is the top coat failing; it looks like the primer is intact.i see no rust, but that may be due to the fact that the sheet metal is aluminum instead of steel.the problem continues to grow and is spreading out.i suspect that the paint application atg ford is flawed.

Paint peeling rear bumper.

Paint began peeling on the rear deck lid. Then we noticed the roof started too. Then the hood. Since writing my letter to ford motor company, the problem has gotten worse. This vehicle only had 52,000 miles on it when this started and they have denied any relief.

Paint is bubbling and peeling on the roof, hood, trunk lid, and doors.

The vehicle had vibrated on another occasion, but not as violently.the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the vibration could not be diagnosed.

Reference nhtsa action number pe 08060.on 7 april, 2011 i had failure of two tire valves and destruction of one tire. Both valves leaking air at point of insertion, ie cracked stems.visited local ford dealer, carbone ford-lincoln on 11 april 2011. Was told no recall would fix for a price. Told him of nhtsa report and that it was a manufacturing defect and ford should be responsible and was told i was being unfair. In my request. Got nowhere with ford , they did not even want to inspect problem, just pay or leave. On 12 april 2011, i contacted ford motors by phone and spoke with denise. Denise was surprised to hear of such a problem (???) told me the service manager should not have been rude to me and informed me there were no recalls on my vehicle. I told her that the problem was present in vehicles, mercury grand marquis built between december 2006 and march 2007 and that mycar was built in march 2007.she said it didn't apply to mine and that i can return to the ford dealer and have it repaired for a price and would get a 12 month warranty with the paid repair.i remedied the situation by purchasing a new set of four tires instead of spending $200 on one tire i don't like to match the oe michelin lx. I live in snow country and the lx do not go in snow at all.

My wife was driving my car to pick up daughter from school.tire blew and is unusable.i checked the tire itself and could not visually find and nail or other cause of puncture.checked stem and found obvious crack.

While traveling on vacation tires deflated to 10 psi and overheated.

Flat tire caused by defective valve stem and required replacing tire and valve stem.

I have a 2007 vehicle which i purchased new in december 2006. The vehicle hasbeen driven just over 9,000 miles and, without warning, a tire valve stem failed and the tire lost all air pressure .my mechanic replaced the defective valve.the day after the failure, a friend pointed out a magazine article regarding defective tire valve stems.

I have had two flat tires, one front and one rear. Both happened while the vehicle was parked. Once in my garage and the other in the parking lot of home depot. Both about a year apart. Both tires were inspected by my mechanic and both tires he had to replace the valve stems as they failed. I am glad it happened while the vehicle was parked. I notified ford motor co. Of my problems with the tires and received no satisfaction. The vehicle now has 35000 miles on the michelin tires and i can't wait to change tires and valve stems. I read somewhere that the 2007 mercury grand marquis was one of the ford products that has a defective tire valve stem made in china. It should have been a recall back in 2007.

On may 28, 2007, the passenger side rear tire went flat on my 2007 mercury marquis, the tire repair shop said the valve stem was bad.on june 8, 2008 the driver side rear tire went flat and it was also a bad valve stem.the car was bought used with app. 16,000 miles and i am sure the tires are the original from the factory.as a precaution i replaced the two remaining valve stems.

I bought a 2007 mercury grand marquis "program car" in sept 2007 from a ford dealer. When i bought it it had 10,000 miles on the odometer and the original tires which were in great shape. Within the first 2 months of ownership two dill valve stems failed, in each case creating a dangerous driving situation and in each case costing me approximately $200 to replace the associated tire. After the second failure i had the remaining 2 valve stems replaced and they too showed signs of cracking.i feel dill owes me $400.

During the month of aug 08 i had 3 flat tires. In each case the tire went flat while traveling on a roadway at speed. Each flat was caused by a valve stem failure (crackedand leaked)the first failure seemed like a normal event, the second seemed questionable , the third was absolute confirmation of a clear problem with the valve stems. The valve stems were replaced on the 3 tires as well as the 4th before another valve stem failure. The 3 tires that went flat sustained sidewall damage. The valve stems on this vehicle were clearly defective and potentially very dangerous to the operation of this vehicle (or any vehicle with these type of valve stems) by an inexperienced operator.

In april, the left front tire on my mercury grand marquis went suddenly flat at high speed on an interstate. The problem was a separation of the valve stem. Dealer replaced valve stem and tire under warranty. In october, my right front time went suddenly flat, again at high speed on an interstate. Problem was again separation of the valve stem. My subsequent inspection disclosed that both rear valve stems were cracked and about to separate as well. Dealer replaced 3 valve stems and tire under warranty. I believe the failures can be traced to tech international model tr413 valve stems, which i understand were original equipment on my vehicle and have had numerous failures. I would urge nhtsa to issue an immediate recall on vehicles withthose valve stems . Mileage on my vehicle at second failure was 5945.

The contact owns a 2007 mercury grand marquis. While driving 60 mph the passenger front tire lost air. He was able to safely exchange the tires. The failure mileage was 23,000. The current mileage was 25,000. Updated 10/21/09. *ljupdated 10/20/09

On september 29, 2017 around 9-10 pm , my husband had just picked me up from work and i was 6 months pregnant, we were driving down the highway and a car on the opposite side of the highway pulled out from the light and hit us on the driver side wheel and fender and broke the steering knuckle, the rack and pinion and broke the steering wheel loose, also the suspension. My car was disabled from the accident. I also had to be rushed to the hospital because i was having contractions so they wanted to make sure my baby was okay. Also the driver hit us and ran. The cops never found the car. In order for me to get my car back on the road i had to purchase a steering column, a rack and pinion, and steering knuckle and suspension out of my own pocket. I was never informed of a recall.

I was driving on the interstate at 68 mph when my left, rear tire blew out at the sidewall.
