About, 2001, i received a letter from someone about a part defect/1985 1/2 merc.gr.marquis 2dr.[keep stopping/cut out when i was at a stop light. Can't remember what they called it.] sent in forms-[stated not to contact ford motor co.], welli read about the same thing in the news paper about california's problembeing the same as mine on recall. Took it up to old middlekrauft car dealer/name is changed now. They said it was not on recall, they checked out the vin #. I sent papers with everything in to the one i received in the mail, got a letter back from them said my vin was a wrong number-no it is not. I am the original owner from day 1/nov.11,1985-my birthday, my husband bought this for me, i have all my papers.[m-1000659]as of today 9-16-2005. 2 yrs ago i had the transmission serviced and flushed at turn key diesel/car repair. They found a silver round piece, like you push out of a electrical outlet that goes in the wall, it is all bent-i still have this. Good thing it was found or i would of had to replace my transmission, i have the proof on this also. Now i found your site and i see other things with my 1985 1/2 grand marquis, i did not know about, i printed these out yesterday. I am a widow of 4 years and need to be safe on the road,, so i take many precautions as possible for safety: it's getting it's years, but i still to this day love my car. No way can i afford another one, if i could i would get the same type of car.i have a very good driving record also at my age. So how may you help me on this data i have sent. Another thing i get a very cold draft in the winter time, can't find out where it comes from. Please e-mail me about feelings on this and or help. Or mail a letter. Thanks so much. Darleene- i found you on / gov. Listing search, i have other knowledge also. I am retired from utah state government.
