Hissing noise, leaning to the right passenger side, power window bottons are break easily, emergency brake handle came off/break easily, andtrunk stopped working.if this vehicle lean more low to the ground, this could cause serious accident. This is not safe to drive, do not put your children in this type of vehicle. We regreted getting this vehicle. People do your research, this vehicle is expensive to fix. Too many defects! it's horrible!

I just bought this car in october, 2012. One morning i noticed that it was leaning on the right passenger side. I took it back to the dealership i bought it from. They stated that it was the air bags??/suspension? their mechanic supposedly fixed it! on 1/4/2013, i noticed that it was leaning again on the right passenger side. I have contacted a mercedes dealership and they stated that these cars have problems with airmatic and suspension.why are there no recalls for this? the cost to fix at mercedes dealership is over 1,500 dollars!

Replace engine, transmission, 3 suspensions is 3 years-twice on the right side mercedes and intercar claimed that right rear air spring had a leak left rear shock leaking and claimed normal wear and tear at 71725 miles-so was the pages and pages of the link below at 71000 miles, power door locks stopped working, power drivers mirror stopped working, safety lock for back windows stop working, burns 2 quarts of oil a month, sunroof leaks, and doesn't always close all the way, abs speed sensors defective, rear main radial seal in transmission defective, replace defective engine thermostat, replaced the batteries due to corrosion (under the seat), faulty signals for tail lights and parking tail lamps (electrical), air conditioning ambient sensor defective, replace defective radio antenna.this car has major design flaws, and has been discontinued by mb.my 2007 r350 has hit every defect listed below with the exception of parking brake, and steering column.mercedes-benz always claims it is normal wear and tear.i know of no car let alone a mercedes with this many defects, i want them to buy this piece of junk back, they offered me 2000 towards a new mercedes, i have been driving mercedes since 1995 and never had problems like this. You would think as many of their cars i owned that they would have stepped up to save not just their reputation but o save a client.suspension complaints: all at similar mileage, mb response was normal wear and tear. I turned on the seat warmer and a minute later i smell something burning and i look to the side and there was smoke coming out of my jeans and i got out of the car and i see smoke coming out the drivers side seat. I immediately turned off the car and it open a small hole in the drivers seat.

My wife was driving our mercedes r350 with two of our children and noticed a burning smell in the vehicle. After stopping the vehicle, she soon realized that the heat warmer on the seat had burned a hole in the seat and singed her sweater leaving a black mark. She turned off the seat warmer to avoid any further issues, including the potential of a fire or an injury to her. The dealership said that because the car was out of warranty the repair would be $1,200. When we passed on the item and said we simply would stop using the warmer, they offered 2/3 assistance (1/3 from the dealership & 1/3 from mercedes) with us paying the remaining 1/3. We accepted the offered and had the seat repaired. However, the situation could have been very dangerous had a fire occurred, had she been burned or had she lost focus on the road causing an accident. I am appreciative that the dealership is doing what they can to help address the issue, however, i believe the manufacturer needs to take responsibility in this situation - especially since i've read multiple accounts of very similar incidents in mercedes vehicles.

While driving the esp/abs light began flashing and a the car made a beeping sound.the warning light came on and a message stating "drive directly to the workshop without switching gears," popped up.i stopped the car and started it again and there was no light for about 2 minutes of driving, then the lights began again abs/esp and flashing inoperative light.i drove the car home as it was scheduled for an appointment the following morning.the next morning i tried starting the car and it would not start and started beeping incessantly.the car was inoperative and would not start or crank.i had to call mercedes benz roadside assistance to transport the vehicle to the dealership.it was founded by the dealership that there was a wiring sensor problem causing inaccurate signals to be sent to the engine.

The contact owns a 2007 mercedes-benz r350. The contact stated that the check engine light illuminated. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where the dealer stated that the engine was operating at half power and that the down shaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure and current mileages were 51,000.updated 4/24/13updated 05/21/2013

Check engine light came up. Car cannot accelerate beyond ~30 mph even with high rev.

I was driving home and the r350 jerked and then slowed down and would not shift gears, stayed on first gear all through my ride home. The car started in the morning but again would not shift gears and no warning light showed on the dash board. I have taken it to the dealer shop where i bought it in va and i am awaiting the verdict.

I had to take the vehicle to the shop for repairs at least every 3-5 months since the day i bought it, which was in 2010. Nearly all of the repairs have been under warranty, it only has less than 75, 000m.in september of this year while i was driving home from work when the car started stalling jerking and shout off.the engine light, esp light and the break light came on.it immediately restarted, the engine light stayed on, while the esp and break light went off.this was a very frighten experience, hoping i won't be hit from behind. I made it to the dealer ship. The car was in the shop for 3wks when i was told that it needed to have a tune up before any other repairs could be done, howthis related to the vehicle just stopping in mid drive, is odd.to say the least.2 days after getting the tune up, it is still in the shop because the engine light is still coming on.i'm feeling uncomfortable about getting behind the wheelsagain in this vehicle.i expected more out of a mercedes benz with less than 100,000miles

The check engine light came on and soon the car began to have trouble starting. I then began sputtering while driving. Mercedes dealer informed us that the balance shaft had failed and needed to be replaced. This repair would cost close to $6,000. I have seen that this is a very common complaint, almost as if it is to be expected. I also see that there is a class action lawsuit that was filed in 2010.this poses a safety problem when i drive my children, and i cannot afford to pay the repair bill.

My 2007 mercedes r350 has been diagnosed with engine balance shaft problem and the dealer has recommended to replace balance shaft (engine balance shaft). The mileage on my car is 54109 miles and is less than 5 yrs old. The dealer is quoting $5300 + taxes for this issue. After searching on the internet, came across many many others who have/had the same issue with various mercedes models specifically with engines m272 and m273. Also a class action lawsuit has been filed on 10/5/2010 in the state of new jersey whose link is http://www.courthousenews.com/2010/10/07/mercedes.pdf . Mercedes has also release instructions for this specific problem to the dealer mechanics of how to repair this as it has been happening with m272 and m273 engines.

Hi, i have a r350 2007 year and i have an issue with the right sideheadlight, the lens inside the lens turned foggy and because of that i amnot able to drive in the night, there is no proper beam from that headlight. I took the vehicle to a dealer and they said its the "normaldiscoloration", and unable to provide any clear explanation why the lens is foggy and they are not replacing it even considering it hazard with this kind of light, the lens has been causing inconvenience to me in the night driving.

Car is a 2007 mercedes benz r350 - it uses a "touch shift" button instead of a more traditional 'console shift lever" to drive, park, etc..car is in park, with the emergency brakes on as well. Driver gets off car, passenger turns of the engine and the car starts rolling backwards...until it hits a curb and then stops. This was not on a steep slope, but a very slightly sloped parking area in front of a supermarket. There were no injuries this time around - but this problem is very serious and dangerous because it could have hit someone, there was no way of stopping the car.this same problem has happened before about 1 yr ago, car parked in driveway, driver gets out, car starts rolling backwards, knocks over the driver, runs over his leg, he injures his shoulder, goes to the hospital. This previous incident was reported to the dealer, they checked out the car, said that there was no problem with the car and returned it - no parts were replaced.i am reporting this incident because this "rolling back" of the car has happened more than once, there are significant issues regarding either the gear shifts or with the "park / brakes" of the car, all are potentially very dangerous.

The hand brake of mercedes benz r350 hand brake handle is very easy to disengage with cable that control or release the hand brake. Cause vehicle to slide back and run over person's leg.

Check engine light came up. Car cannot accelerate beyond ~30 mph even with high rev.

The contact owns a 2007 mercedes-benz r350. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle began to vibrate. While shifting gears, the vehicle violently lunged forward without warning. The accelerator pedal was engaged with force; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 138,000.

Got in my car and turned on my seat warmers and proceeded to drive.after driving for 5 minutes i noticed a smell, though it was the fumes from the car in front of me.i kept driving and then i felt some discomfort on my lower left upper hip area.felt like something was biting me.by this time i was a major highway and kept feeling discomfort....got to my destination and proceeded to get out of the car and my coat was stuck to the seat.i turned around and to look at the seat and there was a hole in the seat and my coat.the discomfort i felt was the burning from the seat.

Drivers seat caught on fire while driving. It is believed the seat warmer malfunctioned.

I noticed i was getting burned on my upper hip when the seat heater was on. Thought it was the metal trim on my jeans getting too hot but discovered the seat heater had burned a hole through the seat and smelled like a fire.i turned it off and now do not use the seat heaters.it got hot in a few minutes after starting.

I drove up a 6000' high mountain, pulled over onto a wide flat pulloffsat there for20 minutes, then restarted the car and had no brakes. My foot went to the floor. I had not used the brakes on the way up the mountain because the road was steeply uphill. Itried turning the car on and off several times and still no brakes. I waited about 20 minute and tried again, still had no brakes.there were 3 of us in the car, and we managed to get a ride several miles down and called a tow truck. I t took about 4 hours for them to arrive.i tried the brakes again, and still had none. After it was towed to a repair shop, approximately 5 hours after the initial problem, i still had no brakes.this happened on a saturday night. On monday, the brakes had pumped back up. I had it towed to penske mercedes dealership. They tested-brakes,fluids etc. And could find no problem. They balked at driving it up the mountain, but finally said they did do it, and the brakes were fine. This all happened over 3 weeks ago. I have spoken with 3 levels of authority at the dealer, and they insist there is no problem, and i should pick the car up or have it towed away, or pay them a $25 per day storage fee.i also called the 800 number for mb corporate, and have never received a call back. The dealer said they were contacted by corporate mb and told which tests to perform, and they told them they had already done those same tests and the car passed them all. Mercedes corporate then told them to tell me the car was fine. And i should pick it up.this is the second time i've had the same failure, also at the same altitude;however the first time, after turning the car off for a few minutes, the brakes were back up and usable.just because the car passes their tests does not mean there is no problem-it simply means they have no test capable of discovering the cause. Must i die before they repair the car? i was going to make u-turn at the pull-off. We're alive because i didn't get that far.

Steering is difficult to turn while at low rpm or at standstill. Steering turns easily while rpm is >800. This is an ongoing problem with mercedes r-class and m-class. Power steering pump needs to be recalled and replaced.

The contact owns a 2007 mercedes benz r350.while driving, the contact heard loud rattling noises coming from various parts of the vehicle, especially the steering wheel.he took the vehicle to the dealer and they replaced the steering column cup.the following day, he heard the rattling noise again and the sun roof malfunctioned.initially, the dealer would not return his phone calls, however, they finally offered to retrieve his vehicle.the powertrain and speed were unknown.the current mileage was 1,700 and failure mileage was 300.

Parked and vehicle preceded to lean to the rear left passenger side.it's very low and is not drivable. No warnings.

Just woke up one morning, i went to start my car and noticed that it was leaning to the passenger side.i went to a private mechanic and he stated that the lower sensor needed to be repaired, so we did that, it cost around $350 for labor and part.i drove the car a couple of days and same problem.so the following day i went to mercedes dealer and they told me that the suspension arms needed to be replaced, so we fixed that which cost about $600.they also, mentioned that there may be an air bag leak, but the work for that was around $910.i declined.so, six days later my car is leaning to the passenger side again.i went back to the dealer and the only thing they could tell me is that i have to dish out more money because now both of the air bags were leaking and now it would cost $1800.i am extremely frustrated.because they obviously can not pin point the exact problem.my car is not under warranty anymore.how much should i have to pay for them taking guesses.i also noticed that my friend who has the same car has had the same problem, not to mention rare people i don't know who have the same car i have noticed driving on the street and their car was leaning to one side.there is obviously some faulty work that mercedes did when they put this car together.reading from your website there are many testimonials of this problem.this needs to be a recall for the m350 mercedes.## vin passed ##

I noticed my car leaning to the left side as i was returning home from errands.no warning indicator came on.i was concerned making turns in this situation but managed to make it home.i brought the car in for service because it was obviously unsafe to drive.after replacing the suspension air compressor 3 months earlier, i was told that the left side suspension air bag had failed.mercedes will not cover this repair and will not recall this known condition without being forced.they should be forced since many people are having this problem.

In october 2012, my 2007 r350 dash indicated air suspension malfunction and right rear end lowered close to top of tire.brought to mercedes dealer in new rochelle, ny for diagnosis and problem was determined to be a collapsed suspension airbag component requiring replacement.brought vehicle to my trusted and experienced mechanic who replaced right airbag and failed air compressor with new original mercedes parts.in april 2013 vehicle dash indicated air suspension malfunction once again - this time left rear end lowered.my mechanic replaced left airbag component and failed air compressor again with new original mercedes parts.now both sides of rear suspension will not fully elevate to the proper level no matter what corrective action/repair is performed even after replacing left and right rear shocks.i have made several telephone calls to mercedes customer service and my complaints were registered.the issue has been referred to dedicated mercedes corporate troubleshooters; however, they will not acknowledge that an issue exists with the airbag suspension system and will not offer financial assistance since the vehicle is out of warranty.i have a friend who has a 2006 r350 and has experienced the identical air suspension problem.i have also met other r350 owners who have experienced the same issue.no recall or dealer service program has been issued addressing this problem.

The rear suspension began to produce a hissing noise upon parking.the next time while driving a loud release of air was heard coming from the rear passenger side and the rear end of the car slammed to the ground.now i have to have the rear suspension replaced.this sudden failure at highway speeds, especially in unfavorable weather conditions, could result in a serious accident.reports of problems with the airmatic system are abundant and not just isolated to my and year of car.in fact mb is currently in a class action litigation regarding the airmatic suspension in their gl line of cars.i believe the problem to be systemic and should be resolved by mb to help assure the safety of those that drive their vehicles.

The contact owns a 2007 mercedes benz r350. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle, it was leaning to the passenger side. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who diagnosed that the strut and the air spring for the passenger side and suspension kit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

After replacing the left side suspension airbag the day before, i noticed my car leaning to the right side as i got into it after using it once after being repaired.no warning indicator came on when i started the car.i was concerned making turns in this situation but managed to make it home.i brought the car in for service because it was obviously unsafe to drive.after replacing the suspension air compressor 3 months earlier, the left side air bag the day before, i was told that the right side suspension air bag had failed.mercedes will not cover this repair and will not recall this known condition without being forced.they should be forced since many people are having this problem.i have had a problem with this suspension system 3 times.

Came outside car is leaning to the drivers side.took to the shop they said it was the suspension sensor, replaced it. 2 weeks later, car is leaning again. Repair shop says its the suspension sensor in the rear. 2 months later car is leaning again on the exact same side. There has to be a faulty part in this car or a recall is needed. This should not be happening again and again especially after repairs are made.

Please do some research before buy this type of vehicle. So many repeats problem from car owner.....

While driving down the highway, a dashboard indicator displayed "car too low".we pulled over and the rear end of the car was sitting as low as possible.it was clear that there was a problem with the air bag supported suspension.on restarting, the car rose and we were able to make it to our destination.the car then, with increasing frequency had this problem.i brought it in for service and the air compressor that inflates the rear suspension air bags was replaced.this problem occurred with no warning and at highway speeds with 5 persons in the car creating an immense safety risk.many othershave reported the same issue with this and related cars for this and nearby model years.like them, i wonder why there is no recall.mercedes benz will not replace these defective parts willingly and there are many of these cars driving down our highways.

When i woke up my car was leaning to one side (the right side)...couple of times the red light (stop car too low comes on) and i have to stop in a safe area of course, but this is scary when you have your young kids with you... The malfunction light comes on when driving over 45 miles away from home.

Just brought this vehicle on 11/2014its a 2007 mercedes r350 woke up one morning and thevehicle was leaning to the left the front of the left passenger side was extremely low. It's very low and is not drivable. No warnings. This situation is very dangerous and i see i am not the only one having this problem. This vehicle needs to be recalled and the manufacture needs to fix the issues.

Woke up one morning and my car warning light came on advising me that i had a malfunction.i realized that my car did not lift up as it should have and after waiting for about 15 minutes, the warning light remained on however; it would raise up eventually.some days were better then others and some days i had to park it for the entire day in fear of driving it while the malfunction light was on.

The panoramic sunroof was broken with no impact at all.i think was the heat but i can't assure that.
