2006 mercedes benz r350 stalled in the middle of a residential intersection shortly after the car was purchased.within a short period of time after getting the car, we also felt a strong jerking then shifting gears, but it was doing it on its own.we took it in and was told it's just loud.then we were told there was a recall.they were supposed to fix it but it never stopped.the check engine light continued to come on.other issues related to the engine had to be fixed rather quickly.the car was purchased in the end of 2005, and has 88,000 miles.over a year ago, the car began idling/shaking really bad.i called mb roadside and was told that it was probably because the gas cap wasn't placed back on the car correctly and gas was leaking.i had the car checked and there was no gas leaking.the car was taken to the dealership where i was told the intake manifold was broken and needed to be replaced before anything else could be diagnosed.the car is still idling bad and check engine light is on.it is now back at the dealership it was purchased from for a diagnosis, which i should receive tomorrow.

Wiring from engine harness to fuel pump burnt on freeway , engine stalled and shut down, could not start back up in middle of i5 freeway. Repairs are amounting to $4000. Could have burnt entire vehicle and after reading numerous complaints with exact same problem something needs to be done.

Rear light modules (tail, reverse, brake, signal) keeps on failing. Dealer quotes initially $250 to fix/rewire but then goes up to $950 to replace ecu. This is frustrating as this is driving hazard, owners are left without much choice. I have seen multiple complaints of the same issue so mb should already know that this problem exists and be honest upfront about it. I hope nobody gets hurt if the lights fail while driving this model/brand.

I drove my 2006 mercedes r350 to work and when i came out for lunch i noticed the car leaning severely to the right. I took the car to have it diagnosed and was told it was the rear air spring suspension. My warrant paid to have the vehicle repaired and the part was replaced. Two months later the vehicle was leaning again. I took the car back and was told it was a part defect and they replaced it at no charge to my warranty company. Just this saturday, august 3, 2013 i came out from the movies to find my car leaning for the third time. I contacted the warranty company and was informed that it was a 1 year warranted since it was last fixed on september 25,2012 so i took the car back to the shop that fixed it and was told that now its the opposite side of which was fixed but the car is leaning the same position as the last 2 times and now i have to pay out of pocket to get it repaired because my warranty has ended. I have also had problems with the intake manifold something in the engine and the trunk/liftgate latch not closing and sensor not working where the trunk would slam on your head without stopping from the motion. The motion sensors have also been a problem where they would constantly sound off when nothing is in the way. The passenger seat assembly has also been repaired since i've had this vehicle. Something is also going on underneath the vehicle which has caused my front tires to suddenly bald severely without warning.

Check engine light and codes for balance shaft and intake. Dealer quotes $7000 for work.

Takata recall. I purchased my 2006 mercedes r350 in 2016 with over 100k miles on it. With the engine light already on. I used a scanner tool for an accurate diagnosis. As it stated two issues. A crank shaft sensor/ cam shaft sensor was needed. So i decided against my better judgement to finalize the purchase anyway. Needless to say, after i changed the sensors the problem still remains. After doing a lot of research and spent unnecessary money, it was brought to my attention that the problem is in fact a faulty balance shaft inside of the engine. Due to a manufacturing default. That was covered my mercedes in a recall at one point before i had purchased the vehicle. For something as serious as a defected part in a motor should not be limited to when you purchase the vehicle, but whenever it is brought to their attention it should be repaired without hesitation since this is a manufacturing default and not something that was done by any previous owners. I would like to know what if anything can be done to help me resolve this issue at hand. Thanks in advance.

Vehicle cranks but will not start, dealer first replaced fuel pump ($1500),then when came to pickup vehicle would not start at dealer, replaced starter(no charge), drove for 2 weeks issue came back, took to dealer , they kept it for 20 days and said some sort of control module, but who knows. Its been 15 months and car just stopped smack in middle of freeway at 60 miles per hour and would not start. Currently at dealer.

This is a well documented issue but mercedes benz refuses to acknowledge the balance shaft as a defect and road safety hazard.unfortunately it's going to take someone's engine falling a part at high speed causing an accident before someone will do something which is terrible. Mercedes-benz balance shaft problems and how to check your car.balance shaft mercedes v6 and v8 problemsmercedes-benz v6 and v8 engines had timing chain problems caused by balance shaft and idler gear failures. Mercedes produced certain models with defective gears in their balance shafts (m272 engines) or with defective idle gears ( m273 engines). These faulty gears wear out prematurely, excessively, and without warning, causing the vehicle to malfunction, the 'check engine light' to remain illuminated, and the vehicle to misfire or stop driving.

While i was driving, i lost power steering. I had to pull over and saw that my engine belt was off my engine and a pulley came off my engine. This is after the dealership had already replaced my belt just less than 10,000 before.it was a good thing that no one was hurt.it seems like this engine is defective and mercedes benz refuses to fix the problem. I'm afraid that someone who does not know how to handle the loss of power steering will be in a fatal accident.

Balance shaft gear defective apparently mercedes has been aware of this problem, class action suits have been filed- no recall yet. I plan to call mercedes dealer tomorrow- do not anticipate any help on their part - if that's the case will try to join class action suit as this is a known and very costly -(thousands of dollars) problem for numerous mb vehicles- many classes from 2007 -2011. Mercedes benz was apparently aware of this defect when i purchased my vehicle (used) from local mb dealer here in ny 2009 as a pre owned certified vehicle, why was i not made aware of this issue that mercedes knowingly knew and come to find out a class action lawsuit was filed. The nhtsa need s to look into this many complaints have been filed, mercedes service techs were made aware of this issue but they were not instructed to let customers be known of this when cars were brought in for service. Please look into this and recalls must be preformed

Engine balance shaft wears excessively to the point where some teeth are almost gone. Causes check engine light to come on and excessive knocking as affects ignition timing. Repair is extremely expensive as it requires taking the engine out. If left unfixed it may stall the engine during driving and be a safety hazard. Research on the issue online shows potentially this issue affecting a large number of vehicles using the same engine.

The contact owns a 2006 mercedes benz r350. Regular service and maintenaince has been performed by the dealer only. The contact stated that while driving at highway speeds, the check engine warning lamp illuminates. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the balance shaft was defective and needed to be replaced. Dtb-s-b-03.30/08i was sent to dealers for this known defective part and corrective measures. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered to cover half of the 7k repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The fiirst time lamp lit was at 72,245 miles but went off. Lamp continued to light intermitted but stays on now more than off diagnosis mileage was 73,845. The current mileage is 75,679.

As i was driving down the highway i pressed on gas pedal and vehicle made a very loud chain whine noise and it cut off in the middle of highway and never started back up.

Balance shaft,,,,coad 1200&1208.

The car is in to replace the intake manifold and the balance shaft. After checking the internet to determine if this problem has occurred with other owners of this vehicle it had become apparent this exact repair is very common for the 2006 r350. The total expense will be approximately $6,500-7,000 usd. There has been a class action law suite filed in the state of nj against mercedes for this known problem.

My engine light came on - took the car for repair and was told p codes 0016 and 0017 were coming on meaning there was a defective gear in the balance shaft which mb knows about and refuses to take responsibility for. It would cost $6000 to fix. I began to look on the internet to see if any recalls or issues like mine have occurred with others and i found i was not alone and a class action lawsuit had been filed. I want to file a formal complaint as mb should be help accountable for knowingly providing faulty products to customers - they need to be liable to recall and fix every engine affected by this!!the us government needs to protect consumers better than this!

My engine light came on and my car began to idle really high when parked or at a stop in october.i went to two mercedes dealers to check on the issue.the second mercedes dealer/service center validated the first, explaining it was the engine balance crankshaft that was loose in the engine and it would cost $6000 to fix.i began to look on the internet to see if any recalls or issues like mine have occurred with others and i found i was not alone and a class action lawsuit had been filed.

The contact owns a 2006 mercedes benz r350.the contact stated that while reversing, the vehicle made an abnormal noise as the steering wheel seized and smoke started to emit from under the hood. The contact turned the engine off but the vehicle failed to restart.the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the power steering pump, serpentine belt and idler pulley needed to be replaced.the vehicle was repaired.however, the contact stated that the check engine light stayed on.the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

On september 19, 2010i started up my vehicle and noticea check engine light appears on my dashboard.i drove the vehicle for two more days and the light disappeared. And then on the fourth day the light appear again. Iimmediately contact the mercedes benz service and asked the about the check engine light. I was informed not to panic it's probably the gas cap not properly on or since i was away for one week and my vehicle was parked in the garage maybe that is why the check engine light is on. I then decide to take my vehicle right to mercedes benz because i did not want to take any chances with this message.i took the vehicle in and informed the service advisor about the light.later on that day i received a phone call informing methe vehicle needs a counter balancer? i asked him how does he know and he replied that the technician saw small metal particles in my oil pan. My vehicle was fullyserviced in march, 2010 the repair he told me will be very costly between $4000-$6000 for a counter balancer ! i left the vehicle and called mercedes benz customer care to ask them about this part. The customer care rep informed me that this vehicle does not have this problem and to go get my vehicle before they start the repair.i went back to get my vehicle and the service advisor told me that the vehicle is unsafe to drive, and may stop on me while in drive.i had no other recourse but to have my vehicle repair. When i pick up my vehicle several days later i asked again about the repairs and was given a lengthy repair bill with alot more items then what the service advisor said needed to be done to my vehicle. I called another technician who is also employed with mercedes benz and ask about this part, and he told me mercedes benz knows about the counter balancer in some of the 350 engine but will not recall them. I do not understand why mercedes benz is not recalling this expensive part !

Balance shaft problem with mb r350, 2006engine w27265000 milesdealer doesn't want to take the car in for an exchangearguing this car has potential problem proven withthe amount of repair done to this kind of enginevery expensive to repair ( 6 to 7k)mercedes should assume the cost of repair and issue a recall for all m272 and m273 engines in usa and canada.

Balance shaft problems in 2006 r350 mercedes benz at 62k miles.

Mercedes-benz balance shaft issues that effect 2006 plus years, r350 and other models that have the check engine light come on, giving a fault code, balance shaft issue. The fix is very expensive, ranging from $4,000 to $7,500. Mercedes-benz has known about the problem since they issued a technical service bulletin in 2007. However, currently mb is not notifying consumers or paying for the total repair of the balance shaft.

2006 mercedes benz r 350, check engine light illuminated under normal driving conditions at approx 66,000 miles; possible balance shaft wear indications; mb dealer cleared cel and performed test drive without it reappearing; cel illuminated again within 50 miles; subsequent visit to mb dealer confirmed early wear on balance shaft gear and timing chain; mercedes benz knows that the materials used were insufficiently hardened, causing premature wear and possible sudden loss of power resulting in no power steering or power brakes without warning , thereby presenting a danger to vehicle occupants; safety recall is in order for vehicle owners with similar engine types

Check engine light came on, took the car to my mechanic that works on foreign cars, he informed me that my drive cam shaft is "retarded" basically stating that my sprockets that hold the timing belt are worn down, i am also loosing compression. I took it to the mercedes dealership and they told me they will goodwill the repair if that is really what is wrong with it. They however proceeded to tell me that your car has almost 100,000 miles on it, so it may just be the timing belt is worn down.(they will try anything to get out of the repair). They told me that they need to check the records to see when the car was serviced and also that since i did not purchase the car from them they do not have to do the work.

My engine warning light came on. I was told that the strut had gone bad and the cam in the engine went bad. I was told by the dealership that is normal in the 06 r350 and they are not sure why it hasn't been a recall. Im upset because im viewing your website and other sites that are design for other owners with the same vehicles and they are showing the same problems..what will it take to get a recall on this before someone gets hurt.

The vehicle indicated check engine light and the error code shows p0016 which is shaft balance issue. The dealer and manufacturer would not attend to it despite the fact that it a known error from factory. The issue would reoccur because of poor material and could cause the car to stall while in travel.

My 2006 r350 has a balance shaft issue (got the codes p0016 and p0017) on the scanner.it seems like a manufacturing defect. There are only 41k miles on the car.

2006 mercedes r350, check engine light on. Replaced magnets and check engine light returned. Diagnosed as defective balance shaft & gear. Mercedes says motor has to be removed to replace balance shaft, gear, timing chain, oil pump and related tensioners and guides. This is a defect thatmb has been aware of since 2007. Car is sitting in my driveway because driving it risks severe engine damage due to possibly jumping time.

My 2006 mercedes benz r350 was diagnosed with a counter balance shaft/gear problem. It has 85000 miles... Which doesn't seem like a lot for a car that is 5 years old and supposed to last forever. Plus i have maintained the car with oil changes, tires, etc and am the original owner. I see on line that there is a class action suit pending . I believe a $5000 repair is way too much and the company should take responsibility.

Mercedes benz r 350, early wear on balanced gear and timing chain, less that 40,000 miles,code1200 and 1208,mercedes benz company know that the materials used on that parts aren't strong enough, check engine light go on and fuel economy is very low,the company know the cause and make change on new parts materials, butno safety recall has been posted to customers with that problems.

Check engine light came on. The vehicle failed state inspection and was taken to a mercedes dealer for diagnosis. They report that there is a balance shift problem that was related to wear and tear. The repair costs 5,000.00. I found online that there is a class action suit regarding this issue. I believe mercedes is well aware that this id a defective part and will not recall the vehicle due to financial ramifications.

Detailed vehicle information:vin: [xxx]model year: 2006model: r350 (model code 251.156/165)engine: 3.5l 90 v6 (m272)current mileage: approximately 48,500 miles reference: mercedes benz service bulletin s-b-03.30/08j:my check engine light illuminated at 70 miles per hour and engine lost power and developed strong vibrations, forcing me to slow down and limp home. Mercedes mechanic diagnosed it as broken balance shaft gear.due to weak materials used in the early m272 engine production, the balance shaft sprocket and other engine components can fail catastrophically causing property damage and personal injury.this is known design flaw and should be subject to recall.

My car has always been service by mercedes dealership. I barely drive my r350 mercedes. My check engine light came on and i was told that my balance shaft and intake manifold needed to be replaced. The dealer said its a common problem that occur with the 2006 and they are not sure why its not a recall.

Our 2006 r350 had all the tail lights burn out at the same time resulting in a safety issue.there appears to be a common issue with this model and year with a wire harness that controls the rear brake lights.when this harness fails the tail lights stop working.mercedes knows about the issue and has a tsb on it, but will not cover repairs if the vehicle is not under warranty.there are multiple complaints on online mercedes forums regarding this defect.

Headlamps shine too close to car. Only shine 40-50 feet out to the front and at night, especially in rain, you absolutely cannot see the road or hazards in it, such as deer.

Dt*:the contact stated while driving for an extended period of time, there was a tapping noise from the engine compartment area.the vehicle was seen by a dealer for inspection who determined there was a problem with the fuel injection system and this was replaced.afterwards, while applying brake pressure at various speeds the vehicle rolled backwards, but was not placed in reverse.the vehicle was inspected by the dealer who determined the brakes were normal.

After a normal day of driving the vehicle, i stopped for a small amout of time switched the car off. When i returned the car would not start, after 30 minutes of this i had it towed to a dealer. After several days he informed me that he checked the fuel pump and ignition system. Everything checked ok. He reinstalled the parts and the car started fine for three days. I picked up the car only to have it stall again in a matter of hours, with the same problems.*ln

Transmission goes into limp mode after slowing down on to near zero on an interstate highway. The result is the car will not shift down into lower gear and thus will not accelerate. Car must be turned off and re-started on interstate highway in traffic in order to make the car operate or able to move forward. Needless to say, stopping and re-starting a car on the interstate is an obvious safety issue... Particularly when trapped in the fast lane with no way to cross multiple lanes of traffic to get to the shoulder (because car will not accelerate and cannot merge into 70 mph traffic to cross).as this is a very common problem that mercedes has on several platforms that share the 7-g tronic transmission, i would think that mercedes must acknowledge the problem as there is no warning that it will happen and when it does it can easily present a very dangerous situation. A quick search of 722.9 transmission will show how common-place the issue is.

Car goes into limp mode cant drive faster than 20mph on freeway very dangerous. Have to pull over turn off engine and restart car to reset. Car just randomly shut off all electronics died on street. Towed car to dealership says needs new valve body of transmission. Researched online very common problem. Defect in manufacturing and parts.

The contact owns a 2006 mercedes benz r350. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph, the check engine warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the balanced shaft was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 72,000 and the current mileage was 72,500.

The vehicle indicated check engine light and the error code shows p0016 which is shaft balance issue. The dealer and manufacturer would not attend to it despite the fact that it a known error from factory. The issue would reoccur because of poor material and could cause the car to stall while in travel.

I have a 2006 mercedes r350 that we bought used in 2009.the car now has 51,560 miles and the front differential is out and needs replaced at a cost of 3500.00.i have read of several complaints for the same problem with the same mileage on the car.mercedes is aware of the problem but refuses to issue a recall.i am fighting with them now to just get them to cover half the cost.even though it is out of warranty, the problem started before the warranty was out and i called the dealer.they informed me that the warranty ran out on friday and i called on monday so there was nothing they could do for me.

The contact owns a 2006 mercedes-benz r350.when attempting to accelerate the vehicle hesitated then accelerated up to 20000 rpms (tachometer red line). He was able to turn the engine off. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and repaired. Several months after the repair the failure resurfaced. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000. The current mileage was approximately 49,000.

My wife drove our mercedes benz r350 to a friends house to drop off the kids.upon stopping on the driveway my wife shut the car off (key in off position) got out and went to the passenger side to help my daughter out of the third row.at that same time my son exited the vehicle and was standing outside the car.as my wife began to move the seat for my daughter the car rolled due to not being in park, rolled past my son and went through the friends garage door.all cars i know of that are automatics require the vehicle be in park prior to the key going to the off position.mercedes benz has the car programmed so that if the user forgets to put the car in park, park will be engaged once the key is removed (a haptic admission of guilt).for safety reasons the logic should be modified slightly to:zerospd+(dooropen*keyoff)=parki called mercedes benz and they see this as my wife's fault.it is simple to them, people don't leave their keys in their cars so going into park once the key is removed is fine.the shifter this car has is hidden behind the steering wheel and will take a lot of getting used to in order to remember to put it in park.on the second day we had the car home i almost got out without being in park.it will cost $1100 for a new garage door and the r350 has some minor scratches on the facia.to me this is simple, mercedes benz puts the car in park (for those that forget) one step too late overlooking conditions that could lead to safer logic.my son could have been crushed by the car, he only made it as far as the front fender and was about to walk in front of the car.i am still waiting to hear back from bernard, the chief technician that i left a vm with on the 800-for-merc line.

Gear gets struck in mercedes-benz r350.

Whiledriving, smelled burning odor but saw no smoke or fire. Driver's side seat heater was on at time odor was noticed. Turned it off immediately and stopped vehicle. Odor went away but noticed upper left of seat back had two burn holes. Made appointment for service.

The contact owns a 2006 mercedes benz r350. The contact stated that the front drivers side seat back and cushion heater was activated, while driving approximately 25 mph.a burning odor emitted inside of the vehicle. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road. The seat heater was immediately deactivated. The contact sustained minor burns to the back area and medical attention was not required. I started my 2006 mercedes-benz r350 and activated the driver seat warmer on high.after approximately 2.2 miles into my drive (speed 30-45 mph) my seat felt very hot on my lower left side near my waist line.i reached back while driving to feel how hot the seat was and was surprised by a very hot sensation as though i had touched a hot needle.as i continued to drive and pull my body forward i noticed smoke rising from behind my left shoulder.i immediately pull over onto a left side street and put the car in park leaving it running and jumped out of the seat.there was a large hole burned in the leather and it was still smoking.i patted the area down with my hand to notice a glowing orange spark and it continued to smoke.i reached in and turned off the heated seat button by cycling it though the 2nd and 3rd levels.the seat finally stopped smoking.i let the hole in the seat cool down.checking my clothing i realized i had a hole and several melted spots on my polyester vest i was wearing.upon coming home i noticed also a hole in my light cotton sweater that was worn under the vest two days prior to this incident i had felt the seat was hot in the same area but thought my shirt at the time was raised exposing my skin to the seat.

May 13, 2019, my wife started the car and drove for less than a mile when her dress started smoking from the driver seat that was alight. She stopped the car and removed our 11 month old baby from the backseat and called me. She has a video of the incident. I checked on mercedes usa site and found out that there was a class action law suite on this issue. We were not notified by either mb or the administrator of the case. This could have turned out deadly as the battery is under the passenger seat and the fuel lines. I turned the car on and again , the seat started to smoke. It is now parked in our driveway as my wife and i are scared of putting our kids in it. I contacted mb usaand they directed me to the administrator of the law suite. This can create dangerous or even deadly situations if my was on a highway and could not stop or fie escalates rapidly with our child in the back seat.

The contact owns a 2006 mercedes benz r350. The contact stated that while driving 10 mph with the driver side heated seat warmer activated, the seat started to burn and smoke was emitted into the vehicle. The contact mentioned that she was able to extinguish the fire by turning off the seat warmer. The contact suffered minor burns to the hip and fingers. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who advised the contact that they would contact her at a later date. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The failure and current mileage was 55,000.

The heated seats were turned on the driver seat while waiting in line at a fast food drive thru on june 15, 2017 around 1:00am. I pulled of after getting my food. Then while i was leaving the parking loti started to feel really warm on my back and side, hotter than normal. I started to smell smoke! i pulled over quickly and got out of the car and i realized my clothing was smoking and the back of my seat was on fire. The fire went out and my jacket and t shirt had burns and ashes on them and my driver seat had large hole in it.

I was driving my car home from church, while pulling up at walgreens i saw smoke and felt a burn on my skin...look down and there we're smoke coming out my seat throughthe leather.turned off the car and it cooled the smoke..waited a while and turned car on again but the smoke didn't return.scaredto drive car.

Mercedes 2006 when i brake the car will keep going. Sudden acceleration. This has happen twice and i have not owned the car for a year. I could kill someone. Took it to dealer and three different shops and no one knows what i'm talking abouthelp

My abs my eesp my brake light and check engine light mine anyways the whole cluster is going crazy it's hard to shift down when i'm coming to a stop not all the time but just sometimes so i got a mind of its own my speedometer goes up and down it says check my tire pressure when it's good my srs light comes on my brakes lights comes on it says dionostic rig test, abs light says dionostic rig test, especially light says dionostic rig test.

The contact owns a 2006 mercedes benz r350. While driving approximately 15 mph, the steering wheel seized without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the steering pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. In addition, the contact stated that when the vehicle was serviced, the technician stated that the transmission valve body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 44,000.

A defective drain and/or air box allows water to enter the interior air handler/blower unit. This damages the blower requiring replacement and leaks to the carpet, causing mildew smells and potential rust. The problem is not covered by mbusa.

A defective drain or filter allows water to enter the ventilation unit. This damages the electrical requiring replacement.residual water leaks to the carpet, causing mildew smells.

On my 2006 mercedes benz r350, the rear brakelights and taillights regularly fail to eliminate.the lights are very inconsistent and when they fail a back-up substitute light comes on.a message appears on the dash indicating that the substitute lights are on.after changing the bulbs numerous times, i was told by a mechanic at mercedes that the contact may be worn out.

My wife came out to start the vehicle and noticed the car was leaning severely to one side. The driver front and rear was tilted, something i never witnessed before on any vehicle i once owned. I took it to the dealer and they told me it was a sensor that controlled the balance of the vehicle. The sensor was changed and a few days later it started leaning again. I noticed when the vehicle sits it will begin to lean, but once it is driven for 10 miles it begins to balance itself. I have been trying to contact you all about this situation, however to no , so now i will begin taking further procedures to correct this situation, and not have to continue paying for a default that`s inconceivable.

I have a 2006 mercedes benz and while driving on the interstate the warning light would come on telling me to stop and let the vehicle rise i pulled over for a while to let it rise drive on for miles the light comes on again with the same thing stop and let it rise. Also while the r 350 is parked at home the rear end will lower itself there is some flaws with the rear end of the 2006 r 350.

Rear air suspension has required replacement 3times in the last twenty four months. Both sides in rear of vehicle have been replaced. Now looking at 4th replacement. I continue to see incidents on website but mercedes is doing nothing about problem.

The car rises up on one side when put thrust he computer no error code comes up . After a day or so sitting in the garage gets back to normal. Got it checked by mechanic no leaks . Then happened again they reset the computer charged me . Happened once again this time they changed the computer and the car showed airbag leaking. Car is out of warranty . Looked up on line mostly everyone who owns this car has this problem. This car has lot of issues. It stopped in middle of road on high way i was luckily saved but they said a shaft ring broke in the engine i had to pay $2000.00 dollars . Mercedes should recall r 350 for suspension leaks.

Problems with the airmatic suspension. The hydraulic system malfunctions and causes your vehicle to lean to one side at this point your turn radius is hindered severely.you also now are only able to drive at a low rate of speed,so hopefully you are not on a major highway when this happens.i know 3 different persons besides myself who have had this issue, and thankfully this major malfunction has not caused any traffic/injury incidents.this seems to be a major flaw in which can cause serious repercussions.

2006 mercedes benz r350-this vehicle keeps leaning on the right side. I took it to the dealership and have replaced several parts including sensors and valves but after a few weeks, it goes back to the same problem. I took it to a local shop that specializes only on mercedes benz and he's having a hard time figure out what's the problem. I can't tell how much money i spent so far in this vehicle and i can't believe that there's no recalls so far. No to mention the problems with the balance shaft and intake manifold issue as well as a air suspension problem. These problems are a manufacture defect especially on the r350 class vehicles. Mb is aware of these problems but they are not taking responsibility to create a recall. Believe me, i've seen so many r350 vehicles out there, and most of them seem to have the same problem. Do we have to wait for a recall in this vehicle until a fatality occurs?

While on a road trip i started getting the red light that asked me to stop car to low. I stopped and it pumped up again. Drove a couple of miles and it did same thing. Took to mb dealer they said it was the suspension and charged me around 1200.00. 2 days later same problem it had not been fixed. I need to return and have them re-check. I heard negative feed back about this car from day 1.

About an hour into my trip the warning light came on for me to stop and let the car rise it were to low, something should be done about the rear suspension on the 2006 r- class there is a default with this vehicle there need to be a recall on and it is very hard for the mechanic to fine what's wrong.

The contact owns a 2006 mercedes benz r350. The contact stated the automatic suspension on the vehicle was uneven. Also, the contact mentioned that the passenger's side of the vehicle was higher than the drivers side of the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

During driving my 2006 mb r350, warning light (check tire pressure) was on. And i pulled it over and found that the tires are fine but the vehicle leaned on the right side. I changed a suspension sensor at dealer, but it happened again one week later. I found that several other owners near me have same problem. I cannot understand why the maker have not recalled it.

We have had a continuous problem regarding rear suspension, right side started first, the rear would drop down but yet the left side would be up. This created a horrific unsteady drive. We had a suspension air bag replaced. Now the left side is doing it. Car can not be driven. From all that i have read and from dealers, this is a ongoing problem with mercedes. Why has mercedes not issued a recall regarding this problem? this should not happen and definitely not at a vehicle that has low miles. Now this issue is also causing uneven wear on tires, 2years later we are still dealing with this issue.

Everyday i get a red signal alerting me to stop driving, car too low.it usually occurs when initially turning on the car or at the beginning of the drive.the rear of the car is visibly low and when driving it is uneven and bumpy.i have seen other r350 owners with same complaint and repeat costs to fix ~1200.00 each side.no suspension recalls on an apparent defect in manufacturing?

The contact owns a 2006 mercedes-benz r 350. The contact stated that the suspension system caused the front end to lean to the right. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer to have the failure diagnosed and the dealer could not determine what caused the suspension to malfunction. The contact also stated that the electrical system caused the exterior and interior lights to malfunction. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer for repairs but the dealer was unable to identify what caused the electrical system to malfunction. The vehicle was repaired however, the contact was unable to provide the exact repairs made to the vehicle. The failure mileage was 85,000. The vin was not available.

The car is leaning to the right side. While driving i get a warning that the car is to low. I also get the warning that my tire pressure is low, while driving on the highway. The car began leaning a few months ago and would come and go. The car is now permanently leaning to the right.

While driving the car starts leaning to the passenger side when all of a sudden a big pop was heard and the car shake, like if someone hit it. It was an awful experience with the family. Very fortunate to had been driving 25mph of the time of the incident.

The 2006 mercedes benz r350 with the airmatic suspension has multiple problems that seem to never end. My car has only 70k miles on it. The suspension has been fixed twice by an authorized mercedes benz shop. While looking up some information on various websites and forums i noticed i am not the only owner with this problem. While driving down the highway a light came on the dash screen stating vehicle too low to driveto shop. When the suspension goes out the vehicle frame is approximately 2 inches from the ground. The stiffened ride makes it difficult to maneuver the vehicle. Mercedes benz stated you can't get a traditional coil spring conversion in the united states. The suspension problems with the r350 are also very costly ($3600) every time this has to be fixed. My car is currently in storage due to not being able to afford a third time to the shop. Please consider an investigation into the suspension of the mercedes benz r350 airmaticthank you for your time.

The rear end of my wife r 350 lower itself for some reason the rear end rise once cranked but over night the vehicle would deflate the rear suspension would just drop look like it is on the ground it started with one side than the whole back started dropping.

The contact owns a 2006 mercedes-benz r350. The contact stated that the suspension failed on the front passenger side of the vehicle while parked. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the compressor, relay, fuse link, air suspension, and core return needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred two more times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

I took car in because it had lowered down. I paid for it.i took it home wife said it is still driving wrong. She took it in and serviceadvisor drove around with her and said he feels it. We drove to dallas checked in hotel went out to car lowered again pressed button to raise it. Made it home to houston and lowered again. Took it in to service at mercedes and now it needs front struts are leakingand some other things. The air bags in the back were replaced also when i took it in before. I have seen several cars like mine on the side of the road with the car leaning&lowered so something has to be wrong with this make model car. There are a lot of web sites with customer complaints about the suspension of this car. Nhtsa its time to investigate. I see no investigation fromnhtsa websight. No one has investigated this car. Will you please investigate?this is just a couple of the problems i've had there are more with just 52000 milesmercedes if i am having one problem after the other what is wrong with this car ? the sticker price was $68,000.00 or $70,000.00 it will make you not want another one.

The contact owns a 2006 mercedes-benz r350. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle leaned to the driver's side and caused the passenger side to become elevated. While making a left turn, the vehicle almost flipped over. The failure recurred continuously. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

The contact owns a 2006 mercedes benz r350. The contact stated that the frame appeared to be leaning abnormally. Yesterday, while parked, i noticed the car is leaning towards left side. Mechanic checked and found the air spring bag was leaking. Also, the strut on right got shot. Many owners have the same complaint. I'm scared to travel with my kids and grand kids in the car. These cars must be recalled for suspension problems.http://www.arfc.org/complaints/2006/mercedes/r350/suspension/problem.aspx

2006 mercedes benz r350 problem with faulty transmission **ccthe vehicle rolled backwards out of the driveway and struck a parked car. The consumer was told by the dealer, the reason why the vehicle rolled, was because he left the keys in the ignition. The consumer stated a button must be pushed to place in to park. It was determined that the consumer didn't place the vehicle into park. It was stated that if the key is left in the ignition, and not placed into park, the vehicle will not go into park by itself. The conclusion was user error. The consumer believed there is a manufacturer's defect with the transmission. The consumer did not have a police report.

As i was driving down the highway i pressed on gas pedal and vehicle made a very loud chain whine noise and it cut off in the middle of highway and never started back up.

I don't know.
