Then happened again they reset the computer charged me . Happened once again this time they changed the computer and the car showed airbag leaking. Car is out of warranty . Looked up on line mostly everyone who owns this car has this problem. This car has lot of issues. It stopped in middle of road on high way i was luckily saved but they said a shaft ring broke in the engine i had to pay $2000.00 dollars . Mercedes should recall r 350 for suspension leaks.

Tail lights does not illuminate, just the substitute bulbs. I changed out all the bulbs but still no stop, tail lights. Fuses all good.

2006 mercedes benz r350 stalled in the middle of a residential intersection shortly after the car was purchased.within a short period of time after getting the car, we also felt a strong jerking then shifting gears, but it was doing it on its own.we took it in and was told it's just loud.then we were told there was a recall.they were supposed to fix it but it never stopped.the check engine light continued to come on.other issues related to the engine had to be fixed rather quickly.the car was purchased in the end of 2005, and has 88,000 miles.over a year ago, the car began idling/shaking really bad.i called mb roadside and was told that it was probably because the gas cap wasn't placed back on the car correctly and gas was leaking.i had the car checked and there was no gas leaking.the car was taken to the dealership where i was told the intake manifold was broken and needed to be replaced before anything else could be diagnosed.the car is still idling bad and check engine light is on.it is now back at the dealership it was purchased from for a diagnosis, which i should receive tomorrow.
Wiring from engine harness to fuel pump burnt on freeway , engine stalled and shut down, could not start back up in middle of i5 freeway. Repairs are amounting to $4000. Could have burnt entire vehicle and after reading numerous complaints with exact same problem something needs to be done.
Rear light modules (tail, reverse, brake, signal) keeps on failing. Dealer quotes initially $250 to fix/rewire but then goes up to $950 to replace ecu. This is frustrating as this is driving hazard, owners are left without much choice. I have seen multiple complaints of the same issue so mb should already know that this problem exists and be honest upfront about it. I hope nobody gets hurt if the lights fail while driving this model/brand.

I drove my 2006 mercedes r350 to work and when i came out for lunch i noticed the car leaning severely to the right. I took the car to have it diagnosed and was told it was the rear air spring suspension. My warrant paid to have the vehicle repaired and the part was replaced. Two months later the vehicle was leaning again. I took the car back and was told it was a part defect and they replaced it at no charge to my warranty company. Just this saturday, august 3, 2013 i came out from the movies to find my car leaning for the third time. I contacted the warranty company and was informed that it was a 1 year warranted since it was last fixed on september 25,2012 so i took the car back to the shop that fixed it and was told that now its the opposite side of which was fixed but the car is leaning the same position as the last 2 times and now i have to pay out of pocket to get it repaired because my warranty has ended. I have also had problems with the intake manifold something in the engine and the trunk/liftgate latch not closing and sensor not working where the trunk would slam on your head without stopping from the motion. The motion sensors have also been a problem where they would constantly sound off when nothing is in the way. The passenger seat assembly has also been repaired since i've had this vehicle. Something is also going on underneath the vehicle which has caused my front tires to suddenly bald severely without warning.

Takata recall. I purchased my 2006 mercedes r350 in 2016 with over 100k miles on it. With the engine light already on. I used a scanner tool for an accurate diagnosis. As it stated two issues. A crank shaft sensor/ cam shaft sensor was needed. So i decided against my better judgement to finalize the purchase anyway. Needless to say, after i changed the sensors the problem still remains. After doing a lot of research and spent unnecessary money, it was brought to my attention that the problem is in fact a faulty balance shaft inside of the engine. Due to a manufacturing default. That was covered my mercedes in a recall at one point before i had purchased the vehicle. For something as serious as a defected part in a motor should not be limited to when you purchase the vehicle, but whenever it is brought to their attention it should be repaired without hesitation since this is a manufacturing default and not something that was done by any previous owners. I would like to know what if anything can be done to help me resolve this issue at hand. Thanks in advance.
Vehicle cranks but will not start, dealer first replaced fuel pump ($1500),then when came to pickup vehicle would not start at dealer, replaced starter(no charge), drove for 2 weeks issue came back, took to dealer , they kept it for 20 days and said some sort of control module, but who knows. Its been 15 months and car just stopped smack in middle of freeway at 60 miles per hour and would not start. Currently at dealer.

While i was driving, i lost power steering. I had to pull over and saw that my engine belt was off my engine and a pulley came off my engine. This is after the dealership had already replaced my belt just less than 10,000 before.it was a good thing that no one was hurt.it seems like this engine is defective and mercedes benz refuses to fix the problem. I'm afraid that someone who does not know how to handle the loss of power steering will be in a fatal accident.
Balance shaft gear defective apparently mercedes has been aware of this problem, class action suits have been filed- no recall yet. I plan to call mercedes dealer tomorrow- do not anticipate any help on their part - if that's the case will try to join class action suit as this is a known and very costly -(thousands of dollars) problem for numerous mb vehicles- many classes from 2007 -2011. Mercedes benz was apparently aware of this defect when i purchased my vehicle (used) from local mb dealer here in ny 2009 as a pre owned certified vehicle, why was i not made aware of this issue that mercedes knowingly knew and come to find out a class action lawsuit was filed. The nhtsa need s to look into this many complaints have been filed, mercedes service techs were made aware of this issue but they were not instructed to let customers be known of this when cars were brought in for service. Please look into this and recalls must be preformed
Engine balance shaft wears excessively to the point where some teeth are almost gone. Causes check engine light to come on and excessive knocking as affects ignition timing. Repair is extremely expensive as it requires taking the engine out. If left unfixed it may stall the engine during driving and be a safety hazard. The total expense will be approximately $6,500-7,000 usd. There has been a class action law suite filed in the state of nj against mercedes for this known problem.

On september 19, 2010i started up my vehicle and noticea check engine light appears on my dashboard.i drove the vehicle for two more days and the light disappeared. And then on the fourth day the light appear again. Iimmediately contact the mercedes benz service and asked the about the check engine light. I was informed not to panic it's probably the gas cap not properly on or since i was away for one week and my vehicle was parked in the garage maybe that is why the check engine light is on. I then decide to take my vehicle right to mercedes benz because i did not want to take any chances with this message.i took the vehicle in and informed the service advisor about the light.later on that day i received a phone call informing methe vehicle needs a counter balancer? i asked him how does he know and he replied that the technician saw small metal particles in my oil pan. My vehicle was fullyserviced in march, 2010 the repair he told me will be very costly between $4000-$6000 for a counter balancer ! i left the vehicle and called mercedes benz customer care to ask them about this part. The customer care rep informed me that this vehicle does not have this problem and to go get my vehicle before they start the repair.i went back to get my vehicle and the service advisor told me that the vehicle is unsafe to drive, and may stop on me while in drive.i had no other recourse but to have my vehicle repair. When i pick up my vehicle several days later i asked again about the repairs and was given a lengthy repair bill with alot more items then what the service advisor said needed to be done to my vehicle. I called another technician who is also employed with mercedes benz and ask about this part, and he told me mercedes benz knows about the counter balancer in some of the 350 engine but will not recall them. I do not understand why mercedes benz is not recalling this expensive part !

Check engine light came on, took the car to my mechanic that works on foreign cars, he informed me that my drive cam shaft is "retarded" basically stating that my sprockets that hold the timing belt are worn down, i am also loosing compression. I took it to the mercedes dealership and they told me they will goodwill the repair if that is really what is wrong with it. They however proceeded to tell me that your car has almost 100,000 miles on it, so it may just be the timing belt is worn down.(they will try anything to get out of the repair). They told me that they need to check the records to see when the car was serviced and also that since i did not purchase the car from them they do not have to do the work.

Our 2006 r350 had all the tail lights burn out at the same time resulting in a safety issue.there appears to be a common issue with this model and year with a wire harness that controls the rear brake lights.when this harness fails the tail lights stop working.mercedes knows about the issue and has a tsb on it, but will not cover repairs if the vehicle is not under warranty.there are multiple complaints on online mercedes forums regarding this defect.

Headlamps shine too close to car. Only shine 40-50 feet out to the front and at night, especially in rain, you absolutely cannot see the road or hazards in it, such as deer.

Check engine light came on, took the car to my mechanic that works on foreign cars, he informed me that my drive cam shaft is "retarded" basically stating that my sprockets that hold the timing belt are worn down, i am also loosing compression. I took it to the mercedes dealership and they told me they will goodwill the repair if that is really what is wrong with it. They however proceeded to tell me that your car has almost 100,000 miles on it, so it may just be the timing belt is worn down.(they will try anything to get out of the repair). They told me that they need to check the records to see when the car was serviced and also that since i did not purchase the car from them they do not have to do the work.

Transmission goes into limp mode after slowing down on to near zero on an interstate highway. The result is the car will not shift down into lower gear and thus will not accelerate. Car must be turned off and re-started on interstate highway in traffic in order to make the car operate or able to move forward. Needless to say, stopping and re-starting a car on the interstate is an obvious safety issue... Particularly when trapped in the fast lane with no way to cross multiple lanes of traffic to get to the shoulder (because car will not accelerate and cannot merge into 70 mph traffic to cross).as this is a very common problem that mercedes has on several platforms that share the 7-g tronic transmission, i would think that mercedes must acknowledge the problem as there is no warning that it will happen and when it does it can easily present a very dangerous situation. May 13, 2019, my wife started the car and drove for less than a mile when her dress started smoking from the driver seat that was alight. Problems with the airmatic suspension. The hydraulic system malfunctions and causes your vehicle to lean to one side at this point your turn radius is hindered severely.you also now are only able to drive at a low rate of speed,so hopefully you are not on a major highway when this happens.i know 3 different persons besides myself who have had this issue, and thankfully this major malfunction has not caused any traffic/injury incidents.this seems to be a major flaw in which can cause serious repercussions.

It was determined that the consumer didn't place the vehicle into park. It was stated that if the key is left in the ignition, and not placed into park, the vehicle will not go into park by itself. The conclusion was user error. The consumer believed there is a manufacturer's defect with the transmission. The consumer did not have a police report.
As i was driving down the highway i pressed on gas pedal and vehicle made a very loud chain whine noise and it cut off in the middle of highway and never started back up.

The contact owns a 2006 mercedes-benz r350.when attempting to accelerate the vehicle hesitated then accelerated up to 20000 rpms (tachometer red line). He was able to turn the engine off. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and repaired. Several months after the repair the failure resurfaced. The vehicle was towed again to the dealer and a technician concluded that the transmission's electronic device failed. However he speculates that the electronic throttle failed. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000. The current mileage was approximately 49,000.
Car goes into limp mode cant drive faster than 20mph on freeway very dangerous. Have to pull over turn off engine and restart car to reset. Car just randomly shut off all electronics died on street. Towed car to dealership says needs new valve body of transmission. Researched online very common problem. Defect in manufacturing and parts.
Complaint is directed to [email protected] in forest grove, oregon.at time of purchase, tires were totally worn and dealer agreed to new tire replacement.subsequent event revealed replacement tires were not new and had previously been improperly repaired.in addition, load factor was below minimum manufacturers rating and unsafe.dealer refused to reimburse cost of new and correct replacement tires.
