Takata recall - in june 2016 i received the mercedes benz recall letter.it includes the language "possibly causing serious injury or death".we visited the dealer to ask for rental car reimbursement. The general manager said no.we called mb and they said no.they called it a "precautionary recall, no need to stop driving".a letter that includes language that their car could cause my death needs more than caution. I checked with the dealer today and with mb and still no estimate of when replacement bags will be available.

Takata recall:it has been almost a year since receiving news that my vehicle has been recalled for the takata airbag and i am still being told by mercedes benz usa that they do not have the parts to fix my car and they have no idea when they will be getting them.now, a year is an awful long time to drive a car with an air bag that could explode and kill me.this is not okay.i have been told that your administration is in charge of prioritizing which vehicles get replacement airbags and i would like to know what data you are using to determine who gets to live and who will be collateral damage???my nephews who both drive ford mustangs have had their airbags replaced ages ago - why am i still being told there is no replacement date in sight for me??????i want my replacement airbag and i want it now, i have waited long enough!

Has been almost 1 year since airbag recall and still no resolution.

Takata recall. I have been corresponding with the local dealer (fresno california) and the national office since i received the notice in may 2016.we have been very reluctant to drive the car for fear of "serious injury or death" as stated in the notice.when i call the local dealer, they say we have to go to headquarters and deny any responsibility--very unhelpful. Also note that this car experienced a faulty airbag deployment about 2 years ago (before the recall) and mercedes fixed the problem at no charge. My daughter was injured in the incident, but her injuries did not surface until after mercedes had us sign a settlement agreement.her hearing and equilibrium has been impaired from the explosion of the airbag on the driver's side when she bumped a curb at a slow speed and they deployed. All of that information would be in mercedes files--we have copies. We have been advised by legal counsel that we should pursue an action against mbusa and our local dealer--maybe this is why they (mercedes) don't want to talk to us or help us.we have had to rent, borrow, or go without alternate transportation because we (myself and my daughter) are fearful of another improper (or proper) deployment.finding other transportation has cost us money.we have kept track of the expenses and the loss of time. We need this car for transportation to work and everywhere else. We would appreciate a speedy resolution to this problem. We really don't want to sue.thank you.

Takata recall. I am currently living 79 miles from my job and i need to trade in my car. Because of the takata airbags i cannot get the full value for my car nor will some car dealership take the car. After running a car fax my care value is reduced by $4000 dollars.

It's in the recall scope of takata airbag issued jan 2016 but so far mercedes dealer said the parts are still not available for the recall without commit date when parts will be available. It has been almost 2 years since the recall was issued. By driving a car with defective airbag everyday, our lives are in danger.

Takata recall.mercedes was notified of this problem in january 2016 but has still not provided a solution.car is currently unsafe to drive.

Dealership on northern blvd in queens ny unable to give me an appointment to replace the bag. They claim they are years behind replacing my air bag and they can't confirm when they will get a replacement.

Takata recall. I have scheduled an appointment to replace the airbag infiltrator since i received a letter in the mail that the part is available. The dealer has tried several times to contact the manufacturer and the part is on back order. It is a safety concern for me and my wife and has been causing worries and a concern to drive the car on a daily basis with a child one year old going back and fourth to school and day care. With a defect in the airbag that my cause injury or death due to the infiltrator causing the airbag to explode and shoot out metal fragments towards people inside vehicle.we are concerned and always stressed out about this issue but we need this vehicle we cannot just park it and not drive it till the issue is fixed. The dealership will not offer any alternative in the meantime untilthe part comes in.

Takata recall. No current airbag problem but item has been named for recall but mbz has done nothing regarding recall and no recall details have been announced.

Takata recall.received letter from dealer to say that they now have information as to the recall of the driver side airbag but haven't heard anything since.its been nearly a year.i called dealer who says that its just that the bag inflates too fast and is not a big deal, but he is wrong about the defect.the defect is that the bag produces shrapnel when inflated that can and has caused deaths of drivers.

Despite receiving several recall notices, and a letter from mb that parts are available to fix the problem- my mb retailer has not responded to several requests to fix the air bag defect issue.mb customer service told me that this was not a "real" safety issue and was not helpful.dealer management (mercedes benz of marin)has also not responded to my requests for service.

'takata recall"mercedes benz has failed to repair my ml350w4 in a timely manner!"takata recall"

The manufacturer of the airbag has filed a bankruptcy claim and we have no resolution to fix this airbag ever. The car now is unsellable as its a deathtrap and no one will buy it and no dealer really wants to take it back so im stuck with this car and need to get it replaced. We need a serious remedy not only from takata but from the vehicle manufacturer that purchased these airbags without further testing. I demand a vehicle replacement or a complete buy out of the car so i can be free of this contract and be able to purchase a new vehicle that is safe for my family and myself.

Takata recall for air bag replacement

Takata began sending me notification of airbag recall for my vehicle more than one year ago. I have been attempting ever since to schedule an appointment to get the airbag replaced as per their instruction at mercedes benz dealers near me in los angeles. Each mb dealer continues to state that they do not have the parts in yet - that they are waiting. In the meantime, this irresponsible delay in providing dealers what they need to schedule and perform the repair imperils me and my passengers each time i drive the car, as well as greatly inhibits my ability to sell the car for full value. Thank you.

The liftgate on my car quit working recently.i discovered that the liftgate motor was in a pool of water.there is a recall 09v076000 that is already issued for this problem.i am very concerned that this could cause a short circuit which could lead to a fire.for some reason my car is not on the recall list even though it is that model year and the exact problem as stated in the recall.please advise.

2 issues: right side rear seat belt will not retract. Second; after a week in the dealership to fix an a/c unit that cuts out repeatedly, and the assurances that the new harness they installed would fix the problem, it hasn't. Even though the outside temps are not into triple digits, it will stop cooling and slowly the air temp rises.i thought that being in slow traffic was the reason, but on the open road and an oat of 74, it did it agsin.

Failing/faulty eis electronic ignition system. My vehicle has 117,000 miles and has intermittent ignition issues. I place the key in the ignition a message on the dash, "key does not belong to vehicle", car will not turn to start, takes several attempts to have car start. The mercedes dealer in my area diagnosed the issues as needing to replace eis, electronic ignition system, est. Cost of $3,700.00. The issue has gone to intermittent to every time i try to start the vehicle.this car has low miles and has been dealer maintained. This should be a recall as defective product

My mercedes ml350 was parked on a residential street. Flames began shooting out of the right rear taillight. By the time that we saw it and extinguished it the entire back of the car was on fire and the car totaled.(matter of minutes) the fire department was called. I have pictures showing thatfire came from the electrical panel in the right rear of the car. I had no previous indication other than a half an hour earlier the left rear taillight was stuck on. Also twice in the past year i called the dealer to say that i thought that there was some problem with the car because the air conditioner would randomly stop cooling. When i took it in they could never find the problem - it was intermittent. Since the fire mercedes customer service has been terrible. I asked them to replace my lost belongings not covered by insurance (this wasn't much) and it appears that all they wanted to do was get rid of me and sweep this issue under the rug. Customer service mercedes offered to give me $4,000 off the best deal that i could negotiate off a new mercedes at my local mercedes dealership if i was too buy a new one - they several times gave extended me thisoffer - when i went to the dealership and got a price, customer service mercedes took back their offer. When i asked to speak to a supervisor the attendant hung up on me. The dealership was good to deal with - customer service was terrible terrible! i've called three times since and they will not put a supervisor on the phone. There is a problem with this car - it should definitely be looked into so that it doesn't happen to others. I'm very grateful that the fire didn't start while the car was parked in my garage or it could have been a catastrophe. I have pictures if anyone cares to see proof of what i'm saying.

The contact owns a 2009 mercedes-benz ml350. The contact stated that when the key fob was inserted in the ignition, the vehicle would not start and the 'key is not for this car' message appeared. The contact stated that the key had not been replaced and was the same key that he had always used to operate the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (contemporary motor cars inc., 100 oceanport ave, little silver, nj) where it was diagnosed that the electronic ignition was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

Takata recall , brake light harness

The back hatch on my 2009 mercedes ml350 would not open using the electronic key or the driver button in the door.there was a noise that sounded like it was opening, but the latch would not release the door.on multiple occasions my battery would suddenly be dead.i assumed i must have left a light on.it was not until i saw a complaint with nhtsa of the exact same problem that i realized that my unopened hatch was draining my battery.i have since had to replace my battery at an expense of over $300.mercedes batteries are extremely expensive and can only be purchased at the mercedes dealer.i can only open the hatch manually by crawling inside the vehicle and tripping a switch at the back of the vehicle.i am checking on how much it will cost to have the latch and actuator replaced.estimates appear to be about $1,000 to have these parts replaced.after researching this issue on the internet there are many people who are having the same problem.on one site mercedes even admitted that they are aware that there is a problem with latch on this model.

Instrument cluster has an orange leak inside, dealer said that they never saw somehing like it before. Need to be replaced, the charge is about $2000.

The contact owned a 2009 mercedes-benz ml350. While driving, a burning rubber odor and smoke were present under the front passenger seat. The vehicle was destroyed. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 31,000.

The contact owns a 2009 mercedes-benz ml350. The contact stated while driving at an unknow speed, the exterior light warning message was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that the brake light bulb was replaced however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to park place motorcars mercedes-benz dallas (113 lemmon ave, dallas, tx 75209; (214) 736-5753) where the contact was informed that the rear passenger's side brake light harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred on the driver's side and the contact was informed that the driver's side rear brake light wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Please note that on the ml350 with led lights there seem to be a major issue with light replacements.while driving my car states that the brake light is broken.brought it to the dealer they state that there is no bulb replacement.you have to replace the entire tail lamp for 545.00 .i think this is crazy just for a blown bulb, mercedes did not design the led tail lamp bulb to be replaceable.i think the maker is an ass to design the tail lamp that way. I think this unfair practice and hope someone investigates.

Takata recall , brake light harness

Fuel tank leak. Gas smell inside of vehicle was so bad that it made me sick. Mercedes dealer fixed it under warranty: changed the seals on the fuel tank.

The contact owns a 2009 mercedes benz ml350. After refueling the vehicle, fuel fumes emitted in and around the vehicle. The vehicle also stalled after the failure. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The failure mileage was unknown.

Week of june 27th, i started to note gas fumes coming from my vehicle. Given, i had recently filled up on gas tank, thought it was due to "burn off"... On july 2nd, took my vehicle in for oil change and they noted that they could detect gas fumes coming from under my vehicle and advised to take it to dealership in asap... Same day, took it to dealership and after a full inspection of my vehicle, they advised me the fuel sending unit was braking down and needed to be replaced. They advised this was so incredibly rare and should not have occurred. Driving my vehicle was a hazard and could have exploded. Given this is my main vehicle for me and my son, this is very concerning to me!!! and nothing should be braking down at 70,000 miles... My extended warranty did not cover it and it cost me $2000 to have it repaired. Again, no one can advise how this occurred but no one i have spoken to can give me a reason but nothing should be deteriorating on a luxury vehicle.

Auto wasin forward an at complete stop and driver placed inpark but left engine running and exited the car.car went into reverse and started to accelerate. Driver was knocked to the ground and run over by car. Car was stopped when it ran into building structure.

As i was getting ready to shift the gear lever to drive the lever sheared off and i was unable to have control of shifting the transmission to any other position such as (p/n/r). I stop the car as a safety concern and looked at the broken gear shift lever and it appear to be sheared off the weakest area of the lever or where the shifting load takes place. Car still under warranty but dealer refused to fix it under warranty with the excuse excessive force applied to shift which cause the lever to brake. I am sure the is a material defects and fatigue. I have the bad part on hand and which if i can send it for lab test to find the cause of the damage and may be this will alert for a recall.

Rear seat belts on both sides do not retract.they have not worked since we purchased the car.although i have found numerous complaints online of this problem, with this make and model, i have not yet found a recall.please consider an investigation on this issue.as our children are almost always the ones in the back seat, it is their lives at risk from this faulty equipment.

Both rear seat belts will not retract.they are fully extended.

Rear seat belts are loose, seat belts don't hold and don't go back. On both sides in rear. Seat belts stays loose. This is a defect.

Rear seat belt won't retract. The rear seat belt behind the driver will not retract.

The rear passenger and middle passenger seat belts both went slack. Not due to any misuse. Certified preowned warranty expired october 31, 2013. Mercedes covered cost of parts, i picked up cost of labor.

Both rear seat belts will not retract. Dealer wants $1450 to fix them.

Rear seat belt won't retract. Many have this problem according to online forums. Very common issue.mercedes benz will not cover, vehicle out of warranty. They want over $700 to fix.

Rear seat belts do not retract

Rear seat belt will not retract.that seat belt rarely gets used and is clean as a whistle.in reading online forums, this appears to be a common problem with this model.

Rear left seat belt will not retract.

Rear seatbelt will not retract. Mileage is past warranty coverage & fix is very pricey (approx $800). This is a major safety issue especially with passengers, mostly children, in the back. I googled this & it seems i am not the only one who has this issue. It is wide spread & a fault of the manufacturer. Mercedes should be required to fix this free of charge! please help.

2 issues: right side rear seat belt will not retract. Both rear seat belts will not retract.they get stuck fully open.

The rear seat belts do not retract once pulled out.over the course of several days, they slowly work their way back up.no vehicle should have a seatbelt fail; it is even more ridiculous that this part failed in a car that is this expensive or that has had such a long history of safety. It isn't safe for anyone to sit in the back seats because the seat belts are out-stretched so far that a person would be thrown forward a ways before the seatbelts stopped them.that is dangerous.

The rear seat belts do not fit snugly and they will not retract after usage. This is a serious safety issue as they are inoperable.back seat passengers are at risk during driving.

I had apassenger in the rear of my vehicle and she told me the seat belts did not work.the rear passenger belt would not retract.when i stopped the vehicle we checked both sides and neither rear belts are working.they are all out of the containment system and locked.they will not retract and therefore cannot be used.i contacted mb usa to find out if there is a recall for the seat belts after i went online and found out that this is a very common problem with their vehicles.they told me there is no recall and they referred me back to the dealership.i am about to call the dealership, but i suspect that what i read online is true.they are passing on a defective seat belt to the consumer to repair just as i read online.i am filing this complaint in the hope that you will investigate mb for this issue.i have been a long-time customer of mb, but this may just change my mind.

Lh rear seat belt does not retract.

It does not retract back at all

My rear brake lines have corroded to the point that i lost my brakes. The fluid has leaked out.the car is not rusting or showing signs of rust or corrosion. Only the actual brake lines have rusted. It appears to be a defect in manufacturing.the lines should have had a protective coating or been covered in the exposed area to prevent excessive corrosion to the point the brake lines rusted thru and the vehicle lost it's braking ability.this happened while was in stop and go traffic so luckily nobody got hurt but if i was at a high rate of speed i would have lost my braking ability and it could have been much worse.

R&r pump to inspect lines and found metal line deformed at flare".

In october 2012, i opened the rear hatch of my 2009 mercedes benz ml350 and it would not close.i continued to push the button on the hatch door, on the driver side door and on the key in an attempt to close the hatch door.after about 20 minutes, i was successfully able to close it.three weeks ago, the rear hatch malfunctioned again, however, this time it would not open.i tried the button on the outside of the hatch, on the inside on the driver side door and on the key in an attempt to get the hatch to open.i left for a business trip the next day, and when i returned my car would not start.i had to call road side assistance to get a jump of the battery.when i took the car to the mercedes dealer, they informed me that the battery was completely dead.i told them that i had a suspicion that the dead battery was caused by a malfunction of the electrical system involving the rear hatch.the service advisor said that he had never heard of the rear hatch causing a problem with the battery. While doing some research online, i discovered that there are a number of people who have had the same problem with the rear hatch either failing to open or failing to close and as a result the battery drains.further evidence that the problem causes the battery to drain is evidenced by the fact that the bulb that illuminates the license plate in the rear hatch door went out as well.apparently the bulb continued to stay on because the sensor in the door was activated, which would only happen when the hatch door is open.failure of the hatch door to open, means that the electrical system treated the hatch door as if it was ajar even though the locking mechanism was malfunctioning not allowing the door to open.so the electrical system continuously kept attempting to latch the door which is what caused the battery to drain.

Loud noise from right front as the vehicle was driven on city street. Jerk was felt inside passenger compartment.

Strong gas odor, car was unsafe to drive could potentially cause fire. The was in motion, the odor kept getting stronger as i drove the car.once the car was stationary, the order started to go away.the issue was specially strong when the ac was turned on. It was hard to breathe when riding in the car.the issue was when ever the car was in motion in city street and in the highway.

Auto wasin forward an at complete stop and driver placed inpark but left engine running and exited the car.car went into reverse and started to accelerate. Driver was knocked to the ground and run over by car. Car was stopped when it ran into building structure.
