(1) problem with both engine crankshaft pulleyand drive shaft.the allegation is that the engine crankshaft pulley failure causes loss of power steering assist and acceleration which may increase the risk of an accident(1 failure).(2) repeated problems with front brake pads due to problem identified by service technician concerning both front brake hoses(3-4 failures).(3) cracked catalyst converters problem that is problematic with ml and requires a $3-4000 repair(1 failure).

The fuel pump failed last year, which i understand is common in this vehicle.the two major problems now are that the car makes a loud "clunk" when making continuous turns (e.g., ramps) even at low speed, and the steering wheel is making odd sounds.also the heater makes the front console too hot to touch on the right side.
