Takata recall - my vehicle has been under recall for a couple of years due to malfunction of driver side and passenger side airbags. I've received several notices via mail regarding the recalls and i have reached out to mercedes benz to help resolve the issue. Every time i call mercedes benz and my local mercedes benz dealer about the airbag parts, i am told my airbag recalls are "pending". My vehicle is unsafe to drive for myself and my passengers. My attorney has sent a letter to mercedes benz and to nhtsa regarding the situation as my vehicle has not yet been fixed and is a great hazard. The airbag parts, i am told, are no longer being manufactured. I don't feel secure driving my vehicle and am highly disappointed in the way my situation is being handled. Mercedes benz is aware of the law that they must fix the problem, however, they are not acting quickly to remedy the current issue. It is as if a major accident must occur before the problem gets fixed, which could result in great injury or death to myself and my passengers. I check the takataspecialmaster.com website every single day, waiting on the claim forms to show so i can make my claim - the forms are still not available. This is unsatisfactory.

This car have two air bags safety recall i have try to report my car thru mercedes-benz internet site. But get no answer.
I drive around a lot of deer and i brought my mercedes benz glk350 for that particular reason. I brought it thinking that i would be safer and more protected in the case of a accident. This issue was brought to my attention months after my purchase. I feel that this issue should be immediately fixed
Takata recalli was first notified of this recall (nhtsa #16v081) in 2016 and have received a number of mailers in the mail through the years. It is now 2019 and i've since moved to three different states since and there is yet to be a remedy. Every time i take the car in to be serviced i have asked when the fix could be completed but am always told it is not yet known. So i've been driving a potentially dangerous vehicle for going on 3 years with no fix in sight. All i would like to know is when i can expect a fix.
Takata recall. I have been driving my vehicle with a potentially fatal driver side airbag for over 2 years. We were told it would be 2018 when we would have a fix back in 2016. We are now well into 2018 with no word as to when we will have a fix. This is ridiculous, i have to drive late hours and far distance to work and it is extremely dangerous to not have appropriate airbags.

After just parking the vehicle but before getting out -the drivers headrest "exploded" and pushed my head toward the steering wheel. When driving the vehicle home the message center said problem with the driver front airbag and the passenger front airbag and the warning light was on.the next day i drove to the dealer and they pushed the headrest back together but could not get the message removed and said it would need diagnostics.i drove away with the messages still coming on intending to make an appointment for diagnostics.returned to have the message center stop showing messages and the dealer was able to correct the issue saying it was just a blown fuse causing the problem.i drove the car approx. 30 min the next day and then 2 and 1/2 hours the following day and while driving on highway at full speed the headrest "exploded" again throwing my head to the steering wheel and i was able to narrowly avert causing an accident.i drove straight to the dealer.they pushed the headrest back in and wanted me to leave.i did not want to drive the car without someone checking the problem so they kept the car.the message center is now not indicating a problem and because the person pushed the headrest back together they are unable to see a problem.warranty is up on the vehicle but feel this is a potential fatal safety issue to report.

Takata recall , nhtsa recall number 17v017, manufacturer recall number 2017010002, this airbag is dangerous and not being replaced in timely manner by mercedes dealer
I have been waiting over 3 years for mercedes benz to repair my takata airbag recall.each time i call the local dealership they inform me they do not have enough parts to fix my vehicle and have to work on the older vehicles first. The last time i called my local dealership i was told it could be march 2019 which will be approximately 4 years i have been waiting and continuing to have to drive a defective and dangerous car. I dont have a choice, i have to go to the doctor due to disabilities and also lost my job. It just does not seem fair that i bought a car as reputable as a mercedes benz and now i have to drive it defectively for over 3 years. In florida, where i live, i have read the possibility of rupture in the airbag is greater due to the humidity. Do i have to die before something is done?
Takata recall has no remedy for the recall on my vehicle.
Takata recall: i've notified the facility since receiving the recall letter but has not received a call or notice to bring the vehicle in for repair. After receiving this notice i called again and was told that the parts were still not available and they were unsure when they would be available but when they were available i would be notified. No current accidents to report but i would rather prevent one than have one.

I called to inquire about the airbag recall and the rep that answered the phone said, they were not doing the year of my car right now, and that i can call back to see when they are. I asked so, am i suppose to just keep driving the car until, i hear from you all, the lady said, i'm not sure that is up to you. I have tried taking the car twice and i was told they don't have the parts yet, so i don't know what else to do. (not sure of exact date of this conversation)

Takata recallmanufacturer recall numbers 2018030010 and 2018030011nhtsa recall numbers 17v017 and 16v081i called mercedes of tucson, az to schedule an appointment to address the open recalls on my vehicle.i was told by the service person with whom i spoke that my airbags could be ordered and i could be scheduled to address the recalls the first week of april 2019; however, i had to call her back to provide my vin so she could verify the recalls.when i called back and provided my vin, i spoke with a different person and she informed me that there were no open recalls, which was completely false.i told her that i wanted something in writing that there were no open recalls, because that conflicted with the safety recall notice i received in 2018, and the recall information for the vin on nhtsas website, which i had just verified.she said she would ask management about getting something in writing for me.a client relations rep called me after that discussion to confirm i did have two open recalls.she further informed me that parts are unavailable until september 2019, and they can't even order parts until then; there is no order queue.my first concern is that their people are giving false information regarding a potentially deadly recall notice (i.e. Stating there are no open recalls).the client relations person explained that they have two parts people who are new, and one of them seemingly "verified" there were no open recalls.the fact that whichever one verified the recalls is new is irrelevant.they need to update their process and system, as i was told the verification was done in their system, not nhtsas website.secondly, given the amount of time that has elapsed since the initial recall, i have to wait an additional six months for repair, and the parts may not even be available then, i was told.that is unacceptable.
Takata recall.the airbag replacement situation has been going on for over 2 years without a remedy. This is unacceptable as i have trouble selling my vehicle right now because of this. Automakers should be held accountable for selling a car with a defective airbag as well and should be able to offer money compensation to purchase the cars back or something along those lines. Being stuck with an unsellable car is very frustrating. A remedy should have been found for this already after 2 years. Please let me know if there are any solutions available for me.thank you, frederic

Takata recallparts are not going arrive until late 2018. In the meantime, i am with that car that might be having safety issue with airbag projectile.
This vehicle had an air bag recall some time ago. In approximately early may 2016 we called and the dealer said that the manufacturer had not yet supplied it with any replacement air bags. The dealer said that a new recall notice would be sent out when the airbags were in stock. No new notice has as yet arrived. The car is presently at the dealership for a serious matter explained in a related complaint, and we are told that no work has been done on the vehicle. I have been waiting for the airbags in my car to be replaced for the past several years. It is unreasonable for me to have the recall for so many years and that mercedes is unable to complete the repair. Other brands have been a lot more responsive concerning the airbags.

Takata recall; complaint due to receiving a letter barely 3/2017 (passenger side airbag) and just finding out there is recall for both airbags since 1/2016.no actual accident, but it is putting entire families in danger. An immediate resolution necessary.
Takata recall. It has been nearly a year since the recall was issued and we have no idea when this will be remedied. Recall # 16v-081, #17v017.letter from mercedes-benz is dated may 2016 and march 2017.why is this taking so long for service? thanks for your help.
Takata recall: there are two outstanding recalls for my vehicle (nhtsa 16v081 & 17v017) that have no remedies for over a year. One was posted in february 2016 & another in january 2017. Without this, i cannot have my airbag(s) changed and am worried every time i operate my vehicle. Should my airbags deploy, myself and my passenger run the risk of shrapnel from an inflator rupture. Rather than save lives, these airbags are ticking time bombs!
Takata recall! we have been receiving letters in the mail for over two years about this recall and how dangerous and life threatening this problem is with thedriver side and passenger side airbags. We received another one yesterday stating that the remedy is still not available.knowing this, keeps us from driving it long distances and on highways unless it is absolutely necessary.it seems there has been a adequate amount of time to resolve this problem, being as it is life threatening. So, what is taking so long?

Talking tomercedes and a vast mailings i received over the past 2 years.mercedes is telling me there are no replacements for the air bags.i have been patient and they now are saying it might be another 2 years to resolve.i asked if i traded car into mercedes.they said they do not want the car because of recall and would wholesale.at this point i am at a loss. Mercedes does not have the consumers safety in mind. They can not insure that air bag will not cause injury.

Takata recall -- i called mercedes benz in 2016 when i got first recall notice letter and got respond on the part haven't been provided. At that time, i haven't raise any conern until this month, i read a local news that mother of three killed in accident involving defective takata airbag. And then this issue bring me seriously concern. I called in augest and the local dealer say cannot take any action due to no part available and redirect me to the us customer services. Customer services respond using below logic: first, because no mb driver has been reported die by this issue, government didnt force mb to recall. Mb is voluntary in this recall.then, since voluntary recall, so mb is not in the high priority in the list of takata. Third, not high priority of takata so we dont have part and cannot take any action. I understand the processing time of takata, but i think before takata provide new model of the airbag of takata, mb should take some action like provide temporary substitute service car for the recall car owner. I am live in florida, which is the zone 1 of the risk level , and that car is my only car. I really hope get a solution on this matter for mb instead of just waiting in fear.thanks for your time and consideration. More detail can be reached at 4074 888881

[xxx]steering lock failure should be a recall. Mercedes charges $1100 to replace mine and everything i've read ppl are all having same common issues. I had no issues until after my car was hit in front when someone backed into me (very hard that is). Suddenly many lights on dash came on and next steering lock failure. Ins co said that mercedes mechanic supervisor said it didn't happen from accident.. And that it's common with these mercedes bc they are lemons!!!redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)*cc
When driving 40 mph or more, the engine stalls and the unit in the dashboard that contains the odometer and speed, begins to turn white in color. It appears the software error within the engine control unit causes the vehicle to stall when driving at a certain speed or when i am coasting to a stop, such as at a traffic light.my vehicle begins to shut-down in the mist of my driving at 40 mph or more, however, when i put my foot on the brake, the engine picks up speed.these events are terrifying, because i can't tell if the vehicle is going to shut down in the middle of the highway and increase my risk of crashing.these events have been ongoing for over one year.i have taken the vehicle to the mercedes dealership several times, but they can't resolve the problems. I truly need help from the mercedes benz manufacturer and/or the nhtsa because i am afraid the vehicle engine will cause me to lose control and hurt myself or another driver.

Car shuttered when accelerating , vibrates when at stop lights. Got inspection torque converter clutch slipping dealership recommend transmission replacement based on mileage 150k. Oil cooler leaking, centrifuge leaking, motor mounts collapsed. Mb is aware of issue, but only want to address certainvins. Mb corp suggested i contact the dealership to get correctedonly assistance they offered incentive buy a new car. Seen many service bulletins on this issue.
The glk smells like gas any time it's fueled up. I never top it off because if i do, it leaks fuel until i get down to 3/4 of a tank.i took it in to get looked at and the dealership warranty dept. Told me my vin number was not one of the ones affected by the sameexat type of fuel leak as others in the recall! i am sorry that i ever bought this vehicle, i will never buy mercedes-benz again1
Since new the glk would smell like gas any time you fueled up. I never topped it off because the dealer told me that may be a reason you smell the fuel. I took it in to get looked at an they told me it's common it's just the evap system working. That's fine but after a few years anytime i filled up i noticed it would start leaking onto my garage floor. I took it in to the dealer and they told me it's out of warranty by a month an this would cost over a thousand to get fixed. I told them i read that a lot of mb are getting recalled due to the fuel leak. And they told me mine is not one of them. It's so frustrating to buy a car brand new an have fuel leaking out of ur gas tank. I have to fill up to 3/4 of the tank to keep it from leaking. I've been doing that for almost 2 years now.
Everytime i fill up the tank, it smells gas in the garage after it stays overnight.i do not overfill the tank.but, this still persists.many mb owners i have seen on the mb blogs and inquiries about this have the same issue.this is a potential safety hazard issue that requires immediate saftety recall.please investigate.thank you.

The contact owns a 2012 mercedes-benz glk350. While driving 30 mph, the drive train failed and there was a temporary loss of power. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and had it towed to an independent mechanic. The independent mechanic diagnosed that the drive train was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was partially repaired and an appointment was scheduled to complete the repair. A dealer and the manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 84,008.
We have 2012 mercedes benz glk350 bought from nanuet mercedes benz, nanuet, ny. On march 11 driving on rte 306s and hit a pot hole covered with water at about 20 mph. The head rest split apart and hit my neck. If i were driving 40 or more miles per hour that impact would have broken my neck even could cause death. Was there any similar complaint? something like this did not happen in 43 years of my driving. Is the car manufacturer liable for it? i took the car to the dealer and it would cost about $600. Please do not call, i am hard of hearing, communicate through e-mail.
While parking my car in a garage, it accelerated. Upon applying the brakes, it speeded up causing me to crash into a concrete barrier. Air bag did not deploy.
Therefore the air bag recall is still outstanding.
The cpa+ (collision prevention assistance) brake system fitted to our 2012 glk 350 malfunctioned. On the freeway, without any traffic in front of our car for more than 100 feet, the automatic brakes jolted the car slowing it down suddenly from approx 70mph to approx 55mph. The car was immediately taken to the dealer for repair and early service under an extended service contract. We were informed that the car is ready and picked it up having been told that the problem is fixed. Subsequently, the problem recurred. Again, under similar road conditions and speed, the car jolted into a sudden decceleration and maintained a lower speed. It appears to have worn out the brakes completely as the car continued to be driven for a few miles. When the driver eventually tried to slow down and stop the car, the brake response was abnormal (soft) followed by failure, resulting in a collision into a concrete wall. During these events, no visual or audible warnings were emitted by the vehicle, as per the design of the cpa+ system. Mercedes benz usa, llc, and the dealer, mercedes benz of steven's creek, have both represented to us that there is nothing wrong with the car and no work has been done on it. Based on our evidence, including 4 witnesses in the most recent incident, the brakes were unsafe to use after the incident, contradicting the mercedes and dealer testimonies. Both mercedes benz and the dealer have refused to provide any writing describing the condition of the vehicle. We believe that a fraud is being perpetrated on the public and that lives are in danger because of a defect in the design, or the manufacture, of the brake and cpa+ system, or both.
Left dealership and entered highway at moderate speed, within two minutes heard something hit the roof of the vehicle.pulled over to investigate and saw that the top gasket/seal (black rubber) of the front windshield had come off starting on the left side and was draped up and on top of the roof of the vehicle.only approximately 4 to 5 inches remained attached on the passenger right side of the vehicle.

I was driving on i35 at the speed limit when i heard a loud pop overhead. I was not sure what it was, wondered if it was gun fire. A few days later when i got in my vehicle, and the sun was out, i was closing the sunroof cover when i noticed that the glass was shattered, pieces of glass were everwhere and began falling with the movement of the cover. It is extremely dangerous as shreds of glass are everywhere.
The glass on this vehicle is very bad and has specs and visibility is bad when it's daylight and sunny out there mb dealer recommended xrain but it' hasn't improved
This is a health and safety issue regarding my car. There is mold build up in the ac system, which is a health and safety and environmental issue, this car is dangerous to the health if my family, especially to my son with asthma. Mold causes many health problems, and this car should not be driven. There is a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer but the dealer said they cant do anything about it right now to fix the problem.so our health is at risk everytime we get into the car. I can't afford to buy a new car. Getting a different car isn't an option unless this one can be bought back.

I was driving with my heat on in cold weather. I was in motion when i heard a loud pop. I was on route 1 traveling straight on the road. At first i thought it was my windshield. Then i heard a crackling sound above me. The whole front panel sunroof now looked like crackle glass.when i got home i looked to see if something had hit the sunroof but nothing had. When i contacted my merecedes dealership they would not acknowledge there was a problem even though i had told them what the mercedes blogs were saying. I had the dealership replace the sunroof. The panel cost $1131.20 plus labor $402.50.
