Vehicle was going on the left most lane of the i580 eastbound at adaptive cruise at 65mph. Both steering and speed was under control by the the adaptiv e cruise feature. I was having my hand on the steering and foot on the brake. All of sudden car took left turn on its own and crashed into side concrete rail followed by a quick turn and came back to the halt in the middle of the 2nd highway lane. Things happened so quickly that i could not even realize what happened to the adaptive cruise which lead to this sudden turn. I would like you or nhtsa to investigate the matter. I am 7 month pregnent and in significant pain caused by this accident. I am not able to take any hard drugs because of my pregnancy. It has been a big trauma for me at this point of my pregnancy. It will be going to be very tough for me from now to trust on the features advertised and sold to us by mercedes.we have been in touch with mercedes for over a month. But they are not showing any proactiveness to look into the matter. They are intentionally delaying the process hoping we will give up sooner than later. I would request nhtsa to intervene and take severe steps towards mercedes. Mrs mary elizabeth from mercedes has been confusing about the process and has no clue about what is next. She is not willing to provide any information and after wasting 20 days she is blaming insurance company did not provide permission. They never bother to call me and update me about process and just formally send an email with half baked information.

The recall notification is dated october 6, 2017 and on this date, 1/19/18 there is still no information when the repairs will be done.this presents a hardship when trying to trade-in or sell an affected vehicle since some dealerships willeither not accept it or offer much less money in relationship to the actual value.mercedes-benz should be held accountable to resolve issues in a more timely basis.it is now over 90 days and there should be fines or other consequences to motivate an expedited solution.i've called the dealership several times and they have no idea and told me i would probably know before them.unacceptable.

Message: date: 06/07/2016: recently, i purchased a 2016 mercedes glc300 and was very unhappy with the fact that the eco mode is the default and it has to be turned off manually each time you start the engine. I called mercedes and they said there is no way to turn it off completely. I believe this presents a high risk for stalls that could possibly result in severe bodily harm and even death. When the car is stopped the engine turns off and will start if one presses the gas pedal. For example; when turning left at an intersection it is very uncomfortable to know that the engine is turned off as you start to press the gas pedal--while a large truck is coming very fast. One just hopes that there is no delay or pause when you press the gas pedal. I firmly believe that this eco always on (except when you remember to press a button to turn it off) presents the potential for a very serious accident. Mercedes should provide an option that will allow this eco mode to be set to always off. Thank you! At 40,000 miles, one of the wrist pins snapped and the piston broke off. This caused complete engine failure and the whole engine needs to be replaced. This is the same problem that caused a recall with the 2015 model. The dealership is making me pay for the labor, but mercedes donated the engine (probably because they know it's their fault). So i'm wondering if there should be a recall on this model as well.

A recall was issued on my vehicle 4 months ago and the dealer and manufacturer are still stating that they do not have the part to properly repair the vehicle.their notice states that there is a concern that overheating of the starting current limiter could cause surrounding components to melt & potentially create the risk of fire.i need this issue fixed by the manufacturer & 4 months is ample time for them to have the repair part available.

I purchased my new vehicle dec 2015.i have had it in the shop 2 times for an estimated time of 3 to 4 weeks.1st my steering mechanism locked up and wouldn't allow me to move my steerging wheel up or down. In or out.then, at the same time, my car was shifting erratically.it would feel like it was in 5th gear, and then immediately drop to 1st gear.they couldn't find anything when they had this vehicle and they had it for about 5 days.now, my engine blew.they stated via text message that the cam shaft broke and put a large hole in my engine block.thank god it didn't come thru the front of the car and strike me.**i was driving my car, when i suddenly hear a loud bang, and my car immediately started smoking from the engine, and i could see i was loosing oil from my rear view mirror.i was about a block from my house. I couldn't excel very fast, but made it.it felt like the engine was on fire, so i pulled into my house by my hose, to hose the fire down.i didn't see a fire, just a lot of black smoke, so i pulled vehicle out in street so itwouldn't leak oil in my driveway.i contacted mercedes to report the problem.i requested a new vehicle, which they are refusing.

Starter motor failure in "eco start" mode at intersection. Was in an intersection when car stalled and threw a code. Starter motor had to be replaced in full. Vehicle had less than 1,000 miles on it and was 3 weeks old at the time of the event.

Three weeks after buying the glc300 4matic the engine misfires, got stranded in ac new jersey, the car was at the dealer for 3 weeks, they replaced all fuel injector/coils and it kept happening, then the fuel module got replaced and it ran fine for 4 weeks and the problem came back, got stranded in boston, the car was at the dealer for 2 weeks, this time they replaced the engine control unit (today 4-22-16), i'm picking it up tomorrow. Leakage in fuel system ( high pressure pump). On glc 300. Gas small inside the car. Company denied investigating or providing my refund for repair. I feel this is totally safety failure of the vehicle . So my current mileage is 32908 and it is 2016 model. I bought this vehicle because the company claims for its highest standards of safety. So i want the authority to help me in investigating this issue and provide me assurance and coverage for any kind of safety issues in future. Also, i want to report some minor issues on breaks. I see sometime the there is a delay in action. Hope this will be investigated for preventive actions and get my refund for fixing this kind of safety related matters. Its is total responsibility of manufacturer to deliver the safety vehicle. Not to escape by saying warranty clause

I purchased this mercedes new in 2016, the brakes have squealed ever since when cold 32 degrees or less.. Once in awhile when warm. 2 we smelled gasoline, we took it to a repair shop, they found two fuel hoses sprayedgas in a mist especially when cold.. 3 there are 3 recalls open on this mercedes, i took it in when the air bag recall arrived at our house, i was told we don't have parts.our car is out of warranty, it has 56000 miles. I take it to a repair shop run by certified mercedes technicians.thank god we didn't have a fire with the gas leak. I did smell the gas when moving thru the ventilation system and when sitting and the smell was all around the car.

On cold start (7am, between 60 and 70f degrees), there's a strong gas smell on both the cabin and outside the vehicle. No check engine light is on or any other indicator of a failure. There's no visible leaks on the underhood or my driveway.really scared to take my kids to school unless mb solve this problem. Vehicle still under warranty, mb dealership shouldn't charge for the inspection. Taking vehicle to el paso tx dealership. Will see what happens.

When i start my car there is strong gas odor in the cabin for the first 3-4 hours of driving. Also there is a moldy smell in the warmer months as well

Fuel smell entering cabin after start up, fuel line on drivers side near steering column leaking, googled problem and seems to be common occurrence with glc300, and mercedes c class but no recall, this is the same problem as the mercedes metris has but there was an recall issued for that model

Often after starting the car, inside the car there is a gas smell that we have to closed the vents as it becomes unhealthy until the smell goes away, it last up to 10 minutes. I have taking the car to my mechanic who specializes on mercedes and could not find any leaks and/or anything wrong.my other issue is that during the raining season when i put my foot on the breaks it makes this loud sound like an airplane landing that i have to release and press and release and press so the car will slow down. My mechanic have done multiple inspections and finds nothing wrong.my third issue is the suspension, driving on freeways at speeds over 55 mph i feel a lot of shaking between front wheels and i can feel every single bump. Again, my mechanic has found nothing wrong that even checked for recalls and has told me that there are no recalls for this vehicle. Obviously there has to be a recall issue and the one more concerning is the gas smell inside the car at start up.

The seatbelt latch for the rear seats retract into the body of the car and then can't be used. This happened twice now and each time a rear seat occupant had to ride without a seatbelt . The latch later had to be retrieved with a hooked wire and needle nose pliers. Other vehicles have a button in the belt to prevent it from retracting or the opening in the car body is too small to allow the latch from retracting in.

The current seatbelts do protect the left side of the body but the right side gets sever damage. Harness seat belts such as race car drivers us or children car seat would minimize right body injures. This feature equates the impact to hitting a brick wall. My accident was on a busy highway.

The contact owns a 2016 mercedes-benz glc 300. While decelerating at various speeds, the contact noticed an abnormal sound coming from the brakes without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the front brake pads needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for a second time where it was diagnosed that a brake spring shoe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 400.

Leased the car with 4,000 miles on it (it was a loaner) and after driving it for a couple of weeks the brakes started to squeal when backing up.called service and i was told this was "normal" because of the humidity in the air.dealt with it for another couple of weeks and called service again.this time i was told there was a "problem" with the brake pads and they were waiting to get them from germany but it was "not a safety issue".i'm very upset that they knew all about this when i leased the car in september 2016 and never said a word about it.extremely upset by how this is being handled by mercedes.never did i expect to have a problem like this with a $50,000 car!!!!mercedes should make due on this and let the customer return the vehicle.why should i be paying for this vehicle every month and not having this issue fixed?this has definitely put a bad taste in my mouth about mercedes.

Mercedes benz glc300 brakes began to squeal soon after purchase. This was noticed when backing up after vehicle sat for a while, rotors and pads cool. Reported to dealer, but they did not seem concerned or mention any known problem related to glc 300 brake noise. I did not press the issue at the time as i thought it might go away after the pads were broken in. Unfortunately the problem has gotten progressively worse. Now it even squeals when going forward if you lightly apply the brakes, again this is when the pads are cool. The dealer now says that this is not a covered issue, since i have more than 10000 miles. Many references to this issue are easily found on the internet for this particular vehicle.

I purchased the car in may 2016.by august 2016 the brakes starting squealing very loudly when backing out of garage, parking spot, etc.i took the car to the mercedes dealership in november 2016 and was told they are aware of the problem but there is not fix.i am afraid to use the brakes when i back up because of the hurtful noise.there must at least be a temporary fix?

Squealing brakes!at around 6k miles the brakes starting squealing. It was very loud and embarrassing. We took it in and they replaced the brakes, the issue still persisted. We've since been told the manufacturer accidentally packaged the defective brakes so our defective brakes were replaced with another set of defective brakes.that was six months ago (4/2017 now) and we are still having the squealing issue and have not been of made aware of when the manufacturer will actually have the correct replacement brakes.this is completely unacceptable and gives me absolutely no confidence in the mercedes benz brand.

Purchased the car new from dealer in march 2016. Brakes squeal in reverse when there's cold weather. The dealer has replaced break pads and rotors 3 times but still the same issue; i've brought it in for the same problem over 4 times. The latest 'fix' was january 2018.

The contact owns a 2016 mercedes-benz glc 300. While the vehicle was in motion, there was an abnormal noise coming from the front end and rear brakes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed, but not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,500.updated 05/02/17*lj

I have a very loud screeching sound when i take reverse. I reported this issue when i took the car for the first service. I was told it was fixed but it came back within a week. Though i own a new car feels embarrassing when i reverse out of my garage when the whole neighborhood could hear the screeching noise.

Brakes have gone from squeaking to deafening squeal and do not seem to stop as quickly.very spongy.dealer says they wont have replacement parts for months.concerned we shouldnt be driving the car and dont trust the dealer to be truthful

The contact owns a 2016 mercedes-benz glc300w. While making a right turn to park, the vehicle accelerated automatically and crashed into a building. The contact stated that the brakes failed to stop the vehicle. A police report was filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was notified of failure. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 23,000.

The brakes squeal at an incredibly high pitch when in reverse the first few times it is used every morning. The sound is painful. It has been going on since we leased the car in 6/20/2016it has been taken in to the dealership several times for this problem...never to be fixed. It is now making the same high pitch squeal when you are braking while driving forward.

Piercing brake squeal when applying brakes under all driving conditions.problem arises after owning brand new glc300 for 8 months (10,000 miles). Public safety issue: driver hesitant to apply brakes to avoid unpleasant sound and embarrassment - especially in public places, such as mall parking lots, school zones, crosswalks, intersections, stop-n-go traffic.mercedes benz dealership charging $260 to diagnose cause of problem.

Have a 2016 glc300 with under 5,000 miles and the brakes squeal in reverse. The dealership refused to attempt repairs as they were told by mbusa that the company is aware of the problem and the engineers are looking for a fix. Same was told to me by mbusa customer service. Ridiculous to pay this much for a car that has a known problem with no resolution in sight. They claim it is not a safety issue but will not provide it in writing at the dealership.

The brakes have a loud piercing screech when brakes are applied.it started out as an occasional noise and now it is constant.i have contacted mb customer service as well as the dealership where i purchased my vehicle.all admit that mb is aware of the issue but have no fix or solution. It is well documented with several complaints on all of mb social media sites.i am being told this is not a safety issue and the vehicle is " safe " to drive but this is unacceptable and i am afraid to drive my vehicle now especially traveling on the freeway because my brakes scream whenever they are applied.

Brakes started screeching loudly when backing up startling neighbors.after seeing many reports on this same problem, i had the dealership replace the brake pads as goodwill.screeching returned shortly thereafter and i continue to annoy neighbors. Runflat tires threads were worn outafter only 10,000 requiring replacement of all 4 tires.rear door driver's side is unable to be unlocked or opened from the inside. Driver's seat side panel covering seat belt continues to fall off exposing the seat belt drive, even after repair by dealership.

The contact owns a 2016 mercedes-benz glc 300. While driving and depressing the brake pedal, the contact heard a squealing noise coming from the brakes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 6,000.

Screeching brakes when car is put in reverse.typically occurs in cold weather.mercedes said they are aware of the issue but no fix is available.mercedes says occurs when vehicle has approximately 20k miles on them.

I purchased this suv march 2016.a few weeks after delivery the brakes started making squeaking sound when i backed out my garage in the morning. Over the past 18 months i have taken to the dealership several times for this problem without resolution. My service adviser shawn and the service department of mercedes benz of delray have tried some fixes but all have proven to be temporary.the noise gets progressively worse after each "fix" unless i bring the vehicle back for another adjustment. Now i am concerned that there may be an underlying safety issue.with the brakes.

The contact owns a 2016 mercedes-benz glc300. While driving 5 mph, the brakes malfunctioned without warning. The contact depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle surged forward independently. As a result, the vehicle crashed into the contact's barn. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed. The contact sustained severe whiplash to the neck and wrist pain from the crash. Medical atttention was required. The vehicle was towed to mercedes-benz of fairfield (2950 auto mall pkwy, fairfield, ca 94533), but the dealer could not duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue by voicemail, but never called back. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

Brakes started to squeal when backing up at slow speeds.this progressively got worse over a couple of months, until it is now extremely loud.it seems to be worse when it is cold.3 mercedes-benz dealers have all said it is a known issue and to standby for a permanent fix.started at about 5,000 miles on car, now have about 6500.

I purchased a brand new 2016 mercedes benz glc300 in december of 2015.over the past 6 months, the vehicle has begun making a terrible screeching noise when i lightly press the brakes while in reverse.the noise has gotten so loud and painful to the ear that i reflexively take my foot of the brakes causing me to roll backwards faster than necessary.i recently took the vehicle in for its 10,000 mile service during which i indicated that the car was making a "screeching" noise while in reverse with the brakes applied lightly ("feathering").i was told by the service technician that mercedes was aware of the issue and will issue guidance soon. I was given my vehicle back with no temporary solution whatsoever.since owning the vehicle (about a year with 10,000 miles), i have received no communication from mercedes about the issue although they have been aware of the "screeching noise" for quite some time.i would like to note that the screeching noise is getting so bad that it is truly painful to anyone inside the vehicle (almost as if i had no brake pads!).i called mercedes today and they again told me that they are aware of the issue.i asked the rep to note my complaint and issue me an email confirming my complaint for my records - he refused.apparently mercedes does not provide email confirmation of complaints to customers who have issues in order for the information "to not go public."please someone at nhtsa - look into this.they need to be held accountable.thank you so much for your time!

The vehicle was purchased brand new in march 2016.a couple of months later the vehicle started squeaking whenever it was put in reverse and the brakes applied.the dealer said mercedes was aware of the problem and working on a fix but there was nothing they could do at this time.the squeak became louder and louder over time.it actually would irritate people with the noise it made.after waiting a year the vehicle was brought in for its first service.the dealer reluctantly changed the brake pads and let us take the vehicle home.it screeched the next morning.it was returned to the dealer.they applied some compound on the rotors.that seemed to work for a day or two.it was not an authorized mercedes solution and the dealer did say it may not work.right now we have a vehicle that screeches loudly and can't get rid of it.mercedes is still stonewalling yet continues to sell this vehicle.

Soon after purchasing my glc300 in march 2016 the brakes started squealing badly, both going forward but mostly backing up.after many trips back to dealership they finally told me there was a problem with brake pads. Mercedes came out with a fix and i have had it done 2-3 times and the brake squeal has not been fixed. At this time it is going back again so they can recreate the squeal. From all my research i have found out that they knew there was a problem and it was never disclosed to me when i bought the car, had i know i would never have bought this car.i feel i am left with a problem that may never be fixed. Ironically i have had a 2017 glc300 as a loaner and it also has the same brake squeal while backing up. Again they continue to sell these card knowing they are not fixed.

Brakes screech loudly when in reverse causing noise disturbance and concern about possible safety issue. This has been an on-going problem for several months and is getting progressively worse. Apparently, this defect with brakes is well known to mercedes-benz but they have not issued a proper fix or recall for the problem. Vehicle purchased pre-owned from mercedes-benz dealership in walnut creek in 2018.

I am being told by my dealership that they have satisfied the recalls on my vehicle, but, as of february 15, 2018, there are still 2open recalls on my vin.i have a young child and am very concerned about my vehicle's air bag inadvertently deploying due to wiring issues in the steering column.

The contact owns a 2016 mercedes benz glc 300. The contact stated that the steering wheel vibrated excessively. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was confirmed however, there was no remedy determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,500.

My cars front stationary sunroof panel came off completely while driving on the highway. I have called mercedes benz recall department and i have gone to the dealership and the repairs are not variable at the moment due to the recall being pending still. My car is getting wet due to the tropical rain in florida.

I was on my way to jury duty when the sensor which regulates acceleration went out. This nearly prevented the safe driving, speed control and acceleration of the vehicle.i was trying to enter the freeway on one of the busiest freeways in the area of pearland,tx.i was so frantic, i began tocry and prayed to reach the exit nearest my home and immediately pulled into the goodyear auto center.i paid for the repair out- of-pocket because i had no choice. The vehicle was unsafe to drive, the nearest mb dealership is approximately 20 miles away.

In motion on the highway the glass sunroof panel detached from the vehicle , there's nothing that i did that could have caused that piece to detach the way it did. I have seen recalls for other model vehicles for mercedes-benz for this same reason.

At 7:30 am on june 10, 2016, while driving north on rte. 495 in delaware in our 5-month-old mb - glc 300, the panoramic sunroof suddenly and without any warning exploded and shattered outward.the sound was as loud as a bomb.as shown in the photographs, nearly all the sunroof was blown out, with only a little glass remaining around the frame. The shattered glass fragments either flew off or settled on top of the shade screen. We were driving at approximately 65 mph and there were no cars directly in front of us or behind.we had the air conditioning system on with the outside temperature at about 70f. It was a clear morning and the sun had just risen.our mb dealer in germantown, md said they were not aware of other instances of exploding glass sunroofs

When i start my car there is strong gas odor in the cabin for the first 3-4 hours of driving. Also there is a moldy smell in the warmer months as well

Since we purchased this car in december 2015, we have had a series of electrical and engine problems that do not seem to fixable by the dealer.the car was serviced (3 years or 30,000 miles) *cwconsumer also had issues with faulty radar sensor, power control unit, engine light, and faulty crankcase vent system.

Panoramic sunroof shattered and exploded without warning, without any external impact seen, felt or heard. Vehicle was moving on rural highway (flat farmland) around 55-60 mph. External temperature above 100 degrees. Highway traffic normal, not dense or empty. Odometer at 12,000 miles.hazard due to defective/ insufficiently strong sunroof glass.

Wiper shuddering or 'juddering' across windshield. Have taken in to dealer at least 4 times, no relief. The dealer finally said there was nothing they could do. Have heard numerous other issues of this exact nature. Wipers have been replaced many times, glass specialists enlisted, class professionally cleaned, angle of wiper blade to glass measured, etc. Online posts indicate this issue is systemic throughout the world. In a $50k car (or any car really) this is outrageous. But more importantly, this is a major safety issue, period!

The wind shield wiper's electric motor and worm gear malfunctioned while driving in the rain on an interstate highway. The rain sensor optics were on and operational at the time of the incident. As the rain volume increased, the automatic sensors increased the wiper velocity. The passenger's side blade unit over-torqued and became entangled with the driver's side rod. This entanglement caused both wiper blades to detach from their rods. The tandem system wiper gear discontinued to work, leaving the driver and passenger side rods in a 45 degree angle, blocking visibility. The rods, without the entire wiper blade attachments damaged the window. Due to the safety hazard, both rods in the line of the driver's visibility and the weather conditions, the car was immediately deemed inoperable due to this malfunction.

The contact owns a 2016 mercedes-benz glc300. While driving various speeds, the windshield wipers were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to mercedes-benz of georgetown (7401 i-35, georgetown, tx 78626, (512) 930-6150) and was temporarily repaired. The contact was unaware of the repair specifics; however, the failure recurred. The contact mentioned that the windshield wipers were previously replaced, but the failure continued. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

The vehicle was taken to mercedes-benz of clear lake (500 golf freeway s, league city, tx)but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 50,000. The vin was unknown.

When getting my virginia state inspection this march (2019) at the dealer where this vehicle was purchased new, i was told that i would need four (4) new tires soon !! the tires are pirelli scorpion run flats and the vehicle had only 13,500 miles and these tires are not cheap(!). I think with todays technogly tires should last beyond 14,000 miles. The vehicle and tires has been aligned, balanced and rotated three (3) timers since purchased, becauce i wanted to get the most milage out of them because of the price of the tires. I'm not a nascar driver (in my 70's) and i take care of my vehicles but i think it bears looking into these tires ( too soft compound,etc..)-- i have a file on all maint.pulled on this vehicle with the last results showing failure on the tires.

The back two rear tires are slipping and already worn out unlike the front two tires of the car.
