I started the car and i got a message stating the right front air bag malfunctioned. There is a short. I took the car in for repair, there have been several recalls on this model for the air bag, mine is not included. The air bag has shorted out. This is a huge safety issue.
I had two mva accidents (february 1 and march 16, 2016) in this vehicle within~ 3 months of ownership. The accidents occurred when i slowed down this vehicle under 10-15mph. Upon purchase, i noticed unlike other cars i have owned,at a stopthis mbgla 250 vehicle engine would cut off completely and start back when the gas pedal was pressed. I was told by the dealership this was normal. However, i noticed when i received the car back from park place bodywerksin march, 2016, (after ~ 5 week repair period from the first accident that occurred in february 2016)the engine gears would jump from 1st to 4th after slowing down on the brake followed by stepping on the gas pedal, it felt like the car was jumping between gears, i was not able to control this.the current car accident happened on march 16, 2016, within 1 week post repair from park place bodywerks,after i stopped at a stopped light i hit the light pole, resulting in front end damage and no airbag deployment. During this continuous additional 3 month repair period, i was notifiedin may, 2016 by my geico adjuster that the transmission had the wrong fluid in it and the claim would be escalated.in the days that follow, i was contacted by a park place bodywerks agent and asked "did you change the fluids in the transmission.."i was extremely offended and informed him "i didn't know how to open the hood..."as of today, 6/13/16, geico has paid park place bodywerks on behalf of my policy $28,831.30 for a vehicle i have only owned since november 2015, driven less than 2months,bought certified pre-owned from park place bodywerks with less than 8000 miles, contained the wrong transmission fluid from the dealership, had two low speed accidents each with no air bag deployment,a hospitalization for the owner and never had a driving history like this of multiple accidents.

Mercedes benz gva 250. Consumer writes in regards to airbags being deployed unexpectedly. *ldthe consumer stated the air bag deployed while driving causing the vehicle to flip and dragged on it's roof. The consumer suffered minor scratches and bruises, as well as a possible micro crack in a rib.
We purchased this car as certify pre-owned; it has encounter numerous issues. One issue i did not mention on the previous complaint is the issue with "key less" remote. The car some time does not detect key less remote during driving saying "key not detected" even after replacing battery and visited dealer (house of import) for software update.it has been several occasion car fail to restart waiting on the traffic light after several attempt to restart the car it kept saying key not detected (this cak has auto start/stop feature) that make it very dangerous possible can be rear ended by other car.

About a month ago, the car gave message "collision assist inoperative" and i can even get the car in gear not with multiple restart. Last week i went out with my wife and the car stop on the busy street on the stop and go traffic and the car did "auto start stop" was unable to restart and it disengage the transmission and i had to restart the car manually and reengage the transmission.i had file complaint about intermittent "collision assist " condition to the dealer (house of import, buana park, ca), the service adviser said it is normal for the collision assist acting up some time. I believe there are some software gremlin or some other ecu issue need to be address. It s a safety concern to keep driving this can w/o any solution, i did contacted mbz usa, they offer no help nor solution at all.
Check engine appeared on our dash board at 56,000 mileage and diagnosed with a problemof the auxillary electrical oil pump. This is the second time we have check engine after we are off warranty. I can also smell gas inside the cabin when i turned on the engine

Vehicle on side street near home...suddenly chugs, and slows to a crawl will not accelerate...all lights come on dashboard..also engine light... Towed to dealership in daytona beach, fl...after 3 wks service dept called to say it was fixed... Wiring harness and a me control unit replaced.3 wks later on 5/10/16 same incident happened...luckily it was on side street so was no accident or damage....this appears to be a recurring problem w/mercedes benz vehicles.... Service dept claims found fix online..?reset some kind of "pins".....this car is not safe in my opinion....
When vehicle is parked in a space under power lines the vehicle locking system deactivates and the vehicle will not lock.the vehicle must be moved to a space where there no power lines abovethe vehicle.
I was driving my 2015 mb gla250 4matic [xxx] and suddenly 5 warning alerts popped on the display and the respective signals turned on the dashboard. The 5 warnings were: 4matic currently unavailable, inoperative abs, parking break, collision prevention assist plus inoperative and check engine. In addition, the steering wheel became heavy at the same time. I turned off the car and turned it on again and at that time only the check engine signal was on. As soon as i accelerated the car and the car changed to 2nd, all the original lights and warning turned on and the steering wheel became heavy. I am sharing this information because i've read multiple similar complaints online. The warranty of the car expired in december 2018 (3 months ago) and back in november my vehicle stayed a couple weeks in garage isla verde (puerto rico) due to problems with transmission. I have leased gla 250 mercedes benz while i was driving on the freeway, i felt the gas pedal stop working and the car stopped accelerating with sign of "collision prevention assist plus" on the carpool lane. I do not understand why this is happening even though there was no car in front of me.i have been a mercedes benz customer past 5 years and i never had this accident.i might have an accident if a car behind me did not stop its car.this is a definitely mechanical problem and i want mercedes benz to take a responsibility and solve this issue.thank you.

It appears that when the turbocharger is engaged, coolant leaving the turbocharger is spraying from where a presumably now missing clamp would otherwise form a tight fit around the tubing, which is normally housed beneath heat shielding. The heat shielding has been displaced by the high pressure produced by the hot liquid. The liquid is so hot leaving the turbocharger that as it sprays out onto the surrounding areas it has melted the air intake system.
Transmission violently engage in reverse: so far i have only experienced this (twice) during cold-starts. Started the engine, shift car in to reverse gear, disengage parking break. In normal situation, the car would reverse slowly without applying throttle. In the two times i experinced the problem, the car would still be idle, even after gently applying throttle. After about 5 seconds or so, the car would violently jerk and the transmission finally engaged in reverse. I have mercedes benz gla 250 year 2015 and the engine light is already appearing in my dash board . I have only driven this car from home to work which is 10-20 miles away. Other issue i have is that when the weather is 30-40 degrees and will have my heater in max i smelt a terrible gas odor coming from my air vents

While driving and without warning, the car shifted itself into neutral and displayed the following error message: "transmission malfunction stop." i coasted to the side of the road and upon stopping, the following error message was displayed: "service required do not shift gears visit dealer." i turned the car off, restarted it, and it drove without incident. This has happened 5 different times: once on a suburban road, once in a parking garage, and three times on a city street.
I have problems with my car when it's in "park" position and when it's at a red light or stopped. Lights failed while driving on highway....dashboard, headlights, brake lights.sometimes lights go on after restarting ... Other times they don't.unsafe to drive. Mercedes does not know how to fix problem! car now at dealer in little rock, ar.apparently mercedes is aware of other instances, but doesn't know cause or cure.

The vehicle was taken to a local dealer mercedes-benz of manchester (located at 875 gold street, manchester, nh 03103 603-669-6788) where it was diagnosed that there was a low pressure fuel line leak and the intake line, seals, rings, and filter needed to be replaced. The brake pedal and the gas pedal are too close together.i am constantly feeling the slight touch of the brake pedal when stepping on the gas.i have had multiple cars and suv's in the past and i cannot every recall touching the brake when gassing.i am very conscious of the proximity of the 2 pedals and try to not touch the brake.it still happens from time to time.
I was driving to meet a friend for lunch. I came up upon a stop light that was already red and i would have been the third car in line. I came to what i thought was a stop. I was about a car length or more behind the car in front of me. Next thing i know, i hear a loud bang as my car had accelerated into the car in front of me with my foot on the brake.that car, in turn, hit the car in front of them. I was very confused.i received a traffic ticket for uncontrolled speed. The policeman thought i was i was crazy when i said that i had come to a stop. The car was drivable, so i still went to lunch with my friend.no problem whatsoever with parking or driving the car to the restaurant, which was about 1 mile away.after lunch, i then needed to run an errand before i went home.i drove about 2 blocks away from the restaurant and pulled into a shopping center.i then slowly pulled into a parking spot between two other cars.as my car hit the curb, it then went over the curb, onto the sidewalk and slammed into the concrete wall of one of the shops.i was able to get home, very shaken, and researched on the internet. Everything i found indicated it was sudden unintended acceleration (sua).i told my insurance company and also called mercedes benz usa. I had my car towed to the mercedes collision repair shop. Mercedes did a recorded conversation and said not to have the car repaired and they would look at it. They were defensive when i mention sua, but my mat is velcroed on and it happened twice in one day. After the second collision, i saw a message on my dash that said :?collision prevention assist plus inoperative". My airbags never deployed. I checked at the mercedes collision center today and was told mercedes removed a black recording box from my car.i have not heard anything back as of yet. I am afraid to drive this car even if it is repaired.*dt *dt

There was no incident with the car.i purchased the car new and when driving it i detected a potential safety hazard with thepositions of the brake and gas pedals and their relationship are too close to each other.for example if your are wearing men's tennis shoes their is a hazard of touching both the brake and gas when you want to apply the brake you also apply the gas. Simply because the shoes are too wide.the dimensions are:the brake pedal is 5" x 3" and the gas pedal is 2" wide and 6" long.the separation between the two pedals is 2 inches. The gas pedal is 1 inch from the center wall on the right and the brake pedal is 10 inches from the left wall.i don't if these tolerances are acceptable only dot would know.

The contact stated that an abnormal banging noise emitted from the steering wheel in mid-turn causing the contact to go over the curb. Following the failure, the tire light illuminated. The front passenger tire fractured and rolled underneath the vehicle. The contact was not injured. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The dealer stated that the failure was caused by the contact impacting the curb; however, the contact drove over the curb because the power steering failed and an unknown component fractured. I was driving down rancho blvd in las vegas under 15 mph winds on tues and the spoiler cover flew off/spoiler
The door handles become in stuck position and does not close fully and does not latch to a locked position. Also after removing the driver side california proposition 65 sticker interacts with the window closing mechanism.
Back door was ajar and there was no warning display to state the door was notclosed completely.i was able to pull out of my driveway and the warning did not display until i was driving.safety issue especially with small children in the back seat.

The front passenger tire fractured and rolled underneath the vehicle. The contact was not injured. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The dealer stated that the failure was caused by the contact impacting the curb; however, the contact drove over the curb because the power steering failed and an unknown component fractured. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph, the carbon monoxide detectors activated notifying the contact that there was carbon monoxide present in the vehicle. When vehicle is parked in a space under power lines the vehicle locking system deactivates and the vehicle will not lock.the vehicle must be moved to a space where there no power lines abovethe vehicle.
I have mercedes benz gla 250 year 2015 and the engine light is already appearing in my dash board . I have only driven this car from home to work which is 10-20 miles away. Other issue i have is that when the weather is 30-40 degrees and will have my heater in max i smelt a terrible gas odor coming from my air vents
Back door was ajar and there was no warning display to state the door was notclosed completely.i was able to pull out of my driveway and the warning did not display until i was driving.safety issue especially with small children in the back seat.
I was drivingat 45mph during day time, in normal slow-traffic conditions on a california freeway, when my panoramic sunroof exploded. Outside temperature was 66f, i was not driving under a bridge and i didn't hear any noise of impact generated by a foreign object. At the time of the explosion i was passing a truck and by the sound of it, i immediately thought that one of the truck's tires exploded. Instead i looked up and my entire panoramic sunroof was in pieces. Luckily the sunshade lining was closed and it protected my face from being exposed to the pieces of broken glass.
The panoramic sunroof came off the rail and popped up almost detaching from the vehicle!!!
The door open warning sign on the dash did not come on until after driving about 100 feet. A backseat passenger fell out of the car as it started to move forward. The driver assumed the back door was closed securely when he started forward because there was no warning light.
I was driving my 2015 mb gla250 4matic [xxx] and suddenly 5 warning alerts popped on the display and the respective signals turned on the dashboard. The 5 warnings were: 4matic currently unavailable, inoperative abs, parking break, collision prevention assist plus inoperative and check engine. In addition, the steering wheel became heavy at the same time. I turned off the car and turned it on again and at that time only the check engine signal was on. As soon as i accelerated the car and the car changed to 2nd, all the original lights and warning turned on and the steering wheel became heavy. I am sharing this information because i've read multiple similar complaints online. The warranty of the car expired in december 2018 (3 months ago) and back in november my vehicle stayed a couple weeks in garage isla verde (puerto rico) due to problems with transmission. I was driving to meet a friend for lunch. I came up upon a stop light that was already red and i would have been the third car in line. I came to what i thought was a stop. I was about a car length or more behind the car in front of me. Next thing i know, i hear a loud bang as my car had accelerated into the car in front of me with my foot on the brake.that car, in turn, hit the car in front of them. I was very confused.i received a traffic ticket for uncontrolled speed. The policeman thought i was i was crazy when i said that i had come to a stop. The car was drivable, so i still went to lunch with my friend.no problem whatsoever with parking or driving the car to the restaurant, which was about 1 mile away.after lunch, i then needed to run an errand before i went home.i drove about 2 blocks away from the restaurant and pulled into a shopping center.i then slowly pulled into a parking spot between two other cars.as my car hit the curb, it then went over the curb, onto the sidewalk and slammed into the concrete wall of one of the shops.i was able to get home, very shaken, and researched on the internet. Everything i found indicated it was sudden unintended acceleration (sua).i told my insurance company and also called mercedes benz usa. I had my car towed to the mercedes collision repair shop. Mercedes did a recorded conversation and said not to have the car repaired and they would look at it. They were defensive when i mention sua, but my mat is velcroed on and it happened twice in one day. After the second collision, i saw a message on my dash that said :?collision prevention assist plus inoperative". My airbags never deployed. I checked at the mercedes collision center today and was told mercedes removed a black recording box from my car.i have not heard anything back as of yet. I am afraid to drive this car even if it is repaired.*dt *dt
I have leased gla 250 mercedes benz while i was driving on the freeway, i felt the gas pedal stop working and the car stopped accelerating with sign of "collision prevention assist plus" on the carpool lane. I do not understand why this is happening even though there was no car in front of me.i have been a mercedes benz customer past 5 years and i never had this accident.i might have an accident if a car behind me did not stop its car.this is a definitely mechanical problem and i want mercedes benz to take a responsibility and solve this issue.thank you.
Was diving on a local interstate at posted speed level and the front half of the panoramic sunroof shattered without any visible/obvious reason (no impact, prior damage, road conditions, etc.). Traffic was light, weather was sunny (high 80's), road conditions normal/good.
I purchased a new gla250 in august 2015.a few days after the purchase i noticed that the car had a serious design flaw resulting in a safety issue.depending on the position of the driver's seat the left side rear view mirror cannot be adjusted to eliminate the large blind spot.taller drivers who require that the seat be positioned further back cannot adjust the left side rear view mirror to eliminate the blind spot.i have contacted mbusa and they will not admit that there is a design flaw or safety issue.the mbusa representative would not allow me to speak with anyone knowledgeable of mirror operation or design. She told me that not all people should be able to eliminate the blind spot on all cars.the safety issue resulting from the inability to eliminate the blind spot is exasperated by the large 'b' pillar which greatly restricts peripheral vision. My theory, and it is just a theory, is that mercedes benz designed the gla (and also the cla) to european market mirror standards, anticipating that the usa would come in line before the gla was sold in the usa market. In europe, convex mirrors are allowed for both passenger and driver side rear view mirrors and for the most part only convex mirrors are used..the nhtsa has been considering, but withholding approval of convex left side rear view mirrors for at least the last 5 years.general motors and mercedes benz havebeen the primary petitioner's for the approval.mercedes benz anticipating the approval, designed the gla for convex outside rear view mirrors. Since convex left side mirrors were not approved in the usa, mercedes benz installed a planar mirror in the same left side mirror enclosure and frame for usa market cars.the planar has a reduced field of view and rsults in the blind spot safety issue. I have had may close calls on multiilane high speed highways.
