Takata recall on airbag and mercedes dealership does not have parts to repair said airbag

Takata recall: i have contacted mercedes benz numerous times concerning the recall and i cannot get a straight answer. The last time (a few weeks ago by corporate) i was told that since they have had numerous airbags go off and no one was terribly injured (i.e. Shrapnel) not to be concerned about the recall. I have also been told that they cannot get the new parts. This is the story they are telling since day one of the recall. I honestly don't think mercedes benz has any intention of fixing this dangerous issue. This is very upsetting since i feel i am driving my family around in a time bomb due to the uncertainty of these air bags. Isn't there anything you can do? i truly believe they are lying since they do not want to fix these airbags and have pretty much said they are not going to do so based on my last conversation. This is the information coming from corporate.

Takata recallmb issued a recall for the passenger side takata airbag in feb 2016. We still have not had the airbag replaced. We can't use the vehicle due to risk of injury or death in even a minor accident resulting in the deployment of the faulty airbag with an inflator that could cause explosion of metal fragments impacting passengers. Nhtsa recall number16v081

Takata recall - i am filing this complaint because of the length of the recall going on for 3 years now, and still is not complete.mercedes has several times pushed out the date that the parts would be available.now, mercedes is showing that the parts will be available in june 2019.this is a dangerous problem that we are expected to continue to drive with the risk of potential injuries from the airbag inflator being faulty.they should find the means and parts to fix this issues as soon as possible.this shouldn't take over 3 years, and is simply unacceptable.

While driving at highway speed in the left lane of a divided highway, the vehicle suddenly and without notice lost engine power and power steering.the weather condition was light rain and the road was wet.i was able to move over to the shoulder of the highway and restart the engine but it died within two to three seconds.i then restarted the engine several more times and was able to maintain a running engine after about 5 restart cycles.the engine loss of power has been traced back by a mercedes repair center to a malfunction of the electrical wiring harness connected to the fuel pump in the gas tank.this incident demonstrates that the electrical system malfunction reported under item #10745399 occurs in wet road conditions and not just when traveling over a puddle.mercedes refuses to repair this safety related defect under warranty.

The rear suspension became soft after the dealer did an intial check after i complained about the vehicle feeling unstable after speeds of 70mph. I had both air shocks changed in the rear. After two (2) months the front suspension on the passenger also started to leak causing the vehicle to suspension to automatically adjust in the front while driving or parked. This occured whether the vehicle was parked or in motion, highway or city streets.

There is a strong odor of gas coming from the back drivers side wheel when parked and when driving.we haven't found any gas on the floor of our garage but definitely a strong gas smell and fumes. We have tried to fill the tank 1/2 way but it doesn't seem to help the smell/fumes are throughout our entire house including the 3rd floor when the car is parked in the garage. I am worried about it exploding or catching on fire. I have read online of other mercedes leaking gas and wonder if this is happening to anyone else who owns a gl 450?

On january 8, 2014, the owner of the 2012 mercedes benz gl450 was inside her vehicle within the garage of her residence, preparing to leave to perform errands.realizing she need to attend to her young children, she put the vehicle's electronic transmission into park and was exiting the vehicle when the gl450 suddenly began moving rearward in reverse.the reversing vehicle pinned the owner between the open driver's door and the garage wall, impacting the left side of her body with enough force to fracture her pelvis and bend back the hinges of the driver's side door (see attached photograph.the vehicle then careened out of the garage with her two small children inside the runaway driverless vehicle.fearing for the safety of her young children who were still in the gl450, the severely injured owner ran down the driveway toward the vehicle and reached it just before it crashed into a gate.please see attached document for details.

After purchasing the vehicle used from a dealer (with @ 36,000 miles) i started having transmission problems within a year. When i would be stopped on a hill/incline and then accelerate the car would violently jerk (as if i had hit something). It would not go forward until after the sudden jerking motion stopped. It would also behave this way when i backed up a hill or incline. Every year i brought it to the dealer to diagnose and fix it and they told me that they couldn't reproduce it when they had the car, therefore they couldn't find out the problem. I also told them that the engine light would come on and off intermittently, however, they were unable to figure out the problem. Every time i took it in for a service they documented the problem on the estimate sheet. However, this last time i brought it in they were able to diagnose the problem as a faulty transmission. It would slip out of gear when on a hill or slight incline when put into drive or revers from a complete stop. Come to find out when researching these cars that mercedeshave had this problem with their engines for a long time.

On 01/08/14, a female driver of a 2012 gl 450 was stationary, in the garage, with engine running. Before she exited the vehicle to check on her child in the rear of the vehicle, she pressed the park button on the drive select electronically-controlled column shifter. As she exited and walked around to her child, the transmission suddenly shifted into reverse, the vehicle travelled backwards and pinned her between the open driver's door and the garage wall.luckily, the vehicle's door hinge bolts broke, the door folded and she was able to extricate herself, as the vehicle continued to travel in reverse until it was stopped by a column at the end of the driveway. The driver sustained massive debilitating injuries. We believe that because of at least two serious engineering mistakes and/or defects, the mercedes gl 450 drive select electronically-controlled column shifter failed to engage into park.## vin passed ## mercedes-benz gl450 2012 ##

Upon acceleration a clunking sound comes from within the transfer case. This vehicle has @ 148,000 mainly highway miles on it. This transfer case problem is a premature failure and is reminiscent of a similar problem mercedes had @ 12 years ago

The contact owns a 2012 mercedes-benz gl450. While driving 20 mph, the rear middle seat belt fractured without warning. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

"takata recall"my 2012 gl 450 mercedes benz abs warning light came on while driving in the city. While driving at about 45 miles per hour the brakes engaged before i could stop my vehicle and pull over. It literally almost sent me through the windshield, a hard grinding sound and an intense stop. Still trying to get out of the way of traffic the vehicle jerked and jerked and the brakes continued to engage. This was very dangerous and could have caused a serious accident.this is very dangerous. If the abs system is faulty or a bad sensor then it should not engage itself at all.i called the local mercedes dealer and spoke with a specialist and he informed me that yes the brakes will engage if there is an issue with the abs. Again this is very dangerous and a recall should be on the sensors whether it's the abs sensors or the speed sensor which they also informed us that could cause this malfunction. Regardless the vehicle brakes should not engage while driving.

At 80k miles the front air suspension started leaking and i had them replaced at a cost$2414.42.i was always worried that next was the back suspension and this is now true that i have to do the same for the rear air suspension and i can estimate based on the last repair price that perhaps will be paying another $2500.i have spoken to various people with the same type of cars whom i met with flattened air suspensions and did not know why their car suspensions were leaking.at least it would be good if mercedes could provide us with metal alternatives because do think in the next 2 to 3 years, i will be replacing them again and again. Please help, this does not seem right or even fair to have leaking suspension.

While driving the balancing indicator light came on. Then there was a loud bang and the vehicle shook violently. It felt like i was rear ended. Then was vehicle was sitting on the springs. My vehicle has only 83000 miles on it and i have had to replace the front and now rear suspension.

At around 60k miles, i had to replace the automatic suspension on both of the front tires (around $3,000).now i'm having issues with the back and will probably have to replace them as well at 69k miles.

Airmatic suspension leak.requiring expensive repaire.. Only has 61000 miles

Car just reached 90k miles with limited driving. The airmatic suspension has been acting oddly for the past month - i would find it low in the rear in the morning after being parked in a flat garage. The next day the entire car would be lowered. Whe is turn off the car, you would hear air being released. Today, when parked, there was a loud explosion, the car shook for a few minutes and then the entire thing sank to the wheel wells. Assume the compressor has exploded and after reading various posts, this is a common problem with all mercedes that have airmatic suspensions and should be fixed/recalled by mercedes.

4-5 miles into driving airmatic malfunction appears on my dashboard ( picture of an straight up arrow in the middle of car picture) when i increase the speed to 50 miles the tachometer goes crazy and i hear loud sound. Car has less than 50 000 miles.
