My vehicle was hit on the drivers side the impact was to the side front quarter panel (from the left tire to the front left bumper). As a result of the impact the drivers side curtain airbag and the drivers side passenger door airbag deployed (no passenger). However, the drivers door and the drivers seat booster airbag did not deploy. Resulting in injury to my left knee, left hip, left ribs, left shoulder (surgery pending), lateral whiplash and concussion. I have filed a claim with mbna. If the passenger driver side door air bag deployed with no passenger then the drivers door airbag must have malfunctioned. The accident took place in west los angeles at the intersection of manchester ave and emerson. Police and paramedics were called and i was transported to the local hospital. Surgery is pending for my left shoulder and possibly left knee.

The electronic keyless-go system intermittently does not recognize that the key is present.the issue was first noticed in 2008 and brought to the dealers attention within months of purchase when the rear tailgate would not close.repeated trips to the dealer to address this issue did not correct the issue.the latches, the switches, and the batteries in the keys have all been replaced but the problem persists.in march 2013 the keyless-go system started indicating "no key was detected" when the car was in motion.on march 5, 2013 the dash warning system indicated the "no key detected" (although the key was in the car) in freeway stop and go traffic.when the car came to a full stop due to traffic, the car shut down the engine and electrical system, with the transmission in drive, in traffic lanes.the car would not start again until the key was retrieved from my pocket, and put into the keyhole.the car was taken back to the dealer, and they replaced the antenna booster (after 4 days of diagnostics).one week after the most recent repair, the car (with the new keyless-go antenna booster) again indicated no key present while driving on freeway speeds.

I purchased a 2008 e63 mercedes benz in december 2013. Since the date of purchase i have noticed a strong odor and smell of gasoline upon fueling the automobile(both inside and outside of the vehicle). This odor progressively got stronger until i was unable to close my garage due to the fumes and the fear for my safety. I took the car to a mercedes benz dealer (luckily) to have it checked out prior to a road trip on 7/2/2014 and it was determined there was a leak in the fuel tank and sending unit (s). The technicians at the mercedes benz dealership indicated to me that the vehicle was unsafe to drive and operate. I have discovered that this particular issue is common to my particular vehicle make, model and year (a recall or class action lawsuit has been done against mb for this problem). I had the repairs done at mercedes benz but was charged for the repairs. Iseek to recover the repair costs associated with this incidence. Please contact me immediately as i need guidance and information regarding this situation.

After refueling my car's gas tank i began to notice some sort of gas leakage.it's especially pronounced when the car is parked in the garage since the fume is unmistakable.there is apparently a fuel leakage near the rear tire (driver's side).i'm concerned that if there were anything in the garage that is ignited it would cause some terrible incident.after i brought my car in for service i found out that the fuel sender unit needs to be replaced along with a related gasket.this type of problem should not experience failure at this low mileage.

On july 30th, 2014 i fueled my 2008 mercedes e63 amg in the same manner as i have for the past 3 years of ownership. When i parked my vehicle in the garage and closed the door i noticed a faint odor of gasoline. I thought it was just the exhaust fume built up in the enclosed environment. The next day when i checked, there was an overwhelming odor of gasoline. Fumes were so strong i could clearly smell it from myfloor apartment. Luckily my neighbor were away on vacation. The smell outside the entry way into the growers was so strong it stung my eyes. Knowing the volatility gas vapors i immediately opened the growers door. When i looked under the rear wheel arch of the driver side i saw a puddle odd gasoline and intermittent drops of gasoline coming down from the fuel tank area. The gasoline did not stop leaking until i drive it to about 3/4 full. It took 2 weeks for the smell of gasoline to dissipate from the interior. I am aware of the class action lawsuit against mercedes for this very same problem.

Reference nhtsa action number: pe12001. I purchased this vehicle used in december 2012. One day after filling up with fuel i parked the car in my garage. The next day i came out to my garage and there was a strong smell of gasoline. When i got inside of my car the smell got much stronger and it was unbearable. I could not find any leaks inside or outside of the vehicle. I had to drive to work and this was the only car available. This was in the dead of winter and i had to drive with the windows down because the gas smell and fumes were unbearable. I had a terrible headache for the rest of the day. I left my car with the windows rolled down to help air it out. When i returned home i did some research online and found out this is a far too common problem with the w211 chassis mercedes benz. Per the information online i was instructed to remove my rear passenger seat and check the fuel sending units underneath the seats. Sure enough when i removed the cover off the drivers side fuel sending unit there was a pool of gasoline! i cleaned up all of the gasoline and let it dry out. From this point on i have not filled up my gas tank more than 3/4 just to keep this from happening again. Fuel pooling inside of the cabin is dangerous and unhealthy. Mercedes benz denies that this is a problem and will not cover the cost of replacing/fixing the defective fuel sending units. There are hundreds if not thousands of others that have this issue. Please do something to get this resolved. I have pictures of the fuel pooling inside of the cabin.

Leaky fuel sending unit.i brought my 2008 e63 amg into mercedes of boston for to repair a leaking fuel sending unit around the spring of 2015. I realize this was an issue for many e class and was being investigated by nhtsa. I specifically asked my service advisor if mercedes was at least covering part of the repair. He said there was no warranty coverage on it. I paid $900 for the repair. I just found out on the nhtsa that mercedes gave an extended warranty coverage for fuel related parts for 15 years as of september 2014. Mercedes is deliberately hiding these details from consumers. No notifications was ever sent. No refunds offered.

Tl the contact owns a 2008 mercedes benz e63. The contact stated that he noticed that fuel was leaking from the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

Upon filling up my gas tank there is a strong odor of gasoline.this becomes really bad when parked in my garage.we have 2 small children so want to solve this as soon as possible.

A strong fuel smell was noticed in the passenger cabin and outside the car after filling the tank.on 5/10/11, the dealer replaced the driver side sender unit p/n 2114703894 and seal ring p/n 2114710579.on 9/26/12, the same strong fuel smell was noticed in the cabin (again).the dealer replaced the same exact two parts on the driver (left) side.the sender units are accessed from under the back seat, which puts the overwhelming fumes in the cabin.i have read that this is a common problem for the w211 models, which is a very dangerous situation.i am concerned that this will happen again and result in a fire, explosion, or illness from the fumes.my children sit on the back seat that could become soaked with fuel.

Owned the car for over 1 year, noticed a pronounced smell of gasoline after filling up at a local service station. Thought it was a spill, smell got stronger over the next 10 miles, parked the car in the garage, where the smell continued to increase to the point i could smell it in the bedrooms above the garage. Took car to local mercedes specialist who removed the inspection plates under the rear passenger seats. Driver side revealed a large pooling of gasoline (approx 8 fl oz) around the fuel tank apparatus. Car is not safe to drive, and required $1100 to replace the part.

Filled the vehicle up with gas last night 5/14/13 and after leaving work today noticed an extreme odor of gasoline in the passenger compartment, and also a very strong odor of gas around the vehicle exteriors.

A strong fuel odor is present inside and outside the vehicle after a full fill-up. The odor dissipates after about 1/8 of a tank of gasoline is consumed. These symptoms reliably reoccur each time the fuel tank is completely refilled. The odor is not present as long as the tank is not filled past 7/8 capacity.the vehicle has not been inspected by a mercedes-benz dealership and no parts have been replaced to address this problem. Current mileage is approximately 72,500.

The contact owns a 2008 mercedes benz e63. The contact stated that he began to smell gasoline in the cabin of his vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing and was instructed not to add fuel to its capacity. The contact continued to smell gasoline and returned the vehicle to the dealer. He was informed there was a leak in the tank and it would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 84,000.

The car has experienced a significant and dramatic fuel leak. The interior of the car was filled with fumes, the trunk of the car was filled with fumes.the car was repaired by a mercedes benz dealer, but the smell returned within a week.sending units, gas tank pumps were replaced.
