I received a letter over 2 years ago and have called mb repeatedly about the repair.they say it hasn't been resolved yet but once they do they will let owners know.as best i can tell the issue is not replacing the faulty airbag because they don't want to outlay the cost.bmw tried this with another car i owned and after several calls they finally sent a replacement to the dealer and replaced it,.how is it mb can keep going on almost 3 years without doing anything?if my child gets hurt due to this i would be forced to pursue litigation.it seems like they are just dragging their feet.

For a couple of months when i put my 2014 e350 sport in park it would jerk forward.never really thought about it being a problem.i was driving my car into my neighbors driveway and went to turn around and just as i went to put the car in reverse, the car propelled forward directly into her tree.if the tree had not been there my car would have went into the front of her house.i am thankful that i am just shaken up and a little sore.i am also thankful that i was the only one in the car during this freak event and that if happened where it did because the 2 other times that i was in my car that day is was in heavy traffic and i would have done major damage to myself and possibly someone else.at first i believe my shoe got caught on the accelerator, but there is no possible way this could be the issue as i was applying it to the brake when the car propelled forward.for as hard as i hit the tree the airbag did not deploy.i was able to drive my car back home with all the coolant leaking from it.

Car purchased 12\18,dealer said he had same problem with recall i should call mercedes. Mercades said they were waiting for air bags to come in.have not got any notice that problem is fixed.i am left with a car that i will not have a front passenger.+

Recall notices and failure to provide a remedy for steering column issues, etc. Which present potential for dangerous airbag deployment, have surfaced no resolution. Dealerships have ignored questions and representatives have been hostile when asked about numerous safety issues.

I was traveling on highway 26 at approximately 60 mph getting ready to merge onto highway 526, when the entire digital warning panel lit up and then went dead, with the engine inoperable light coming on and asking me to refer to the owners manual. All power was cut from the gas pedal and i was lucky enough to be able to coast to a very small strip of median without being hit by any other vehicles. This is a very heavily trafficked area and charleston being a port city i was very fortunate that the trucks that were around me were able to avoid hitting me. If i had been in another situation, such as pulling out into traffic or trying to cross over a two lane highway the results could have been catastrophic to say the least. I have been told by the dealer that there was a bulletin issued involving the throttle valve actuator, topic # li54.18-p-058597, version 9. They have not been able to tell me why this happened in the first place, cannot guarantee it will happen again and i would like to know why there was not a recall for this particular potentially life threatening issue? sincerely, [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I was driving on route 40 (speed limit 55mph, but 45 mph due to construction) when i began hearing rattling in my rear passenger side speaker, then crackling, a burning smell and then smoke filled my vehicle. I believed my vehicle was on fire. Had i not remained calm, i could have caused an accident. I ended up driving to a nearby walmart parking lot where i left my vehicle until it was towed to the dealership for a diagnostic. The tow truck driver also confirmed smelling the burning upon starting my vehicle to pull it onto the tow truck. This happened although no audio was being used in the vehicle. I googled the issue and located similar stories on mbworld.org forum dating back to 2016. The issue is melting harmon kardon speakers in the 2014 e350 model. Speakers do not melt as a part of normal wear and tear, but because of poor wiring, adhesive and/or craftsmanship. My service advisor called me today and confirmed my suspicions that the rear passenger speaker had in fact melted and my front driver side speaker is also in the process of suffering the same fate. Both need replacing. Because my vehicle has been out of warranty for just over a year, there are no recalls for this issue and it is not a "known issue" i am expected to pay out of pocket for 2 malfunctioning/ melting speakers caused by the manufacturer. This is a safety issue, could have caused both an electrical fire in my vehicle (near my gas tank) and me to have gotten in an accident. Please issue a recall before someone is seriously hurt.

I was driving the car down 880 until i suddenly heard a cracklings noise coming from the back of my car. I had just gotten the car serviced a week before so this was very unpleasant and surprising. I ended up turning back and parking my car at home. The next day while driving to the dealer i still heard the noise and there was a weird burning smell. The noise continued even after shutting off the car. I went to the dealer and they diagnosed that the right passenger speaker had melted and they also changed my amp. In my dealer notes, it states that there have been multiple occurrences yet it seems like there is no recall.

Recall notices and failure to provide a remedy for steering column issues, etc. Which present potential for dangerous airbag deployment, have surfaced no resolution. Dealerships have ignored questions and representatives have been hostile when asked about numerous safety issues.

Hey i have 2014 mercedes e350 with 57k on it. Driver seat has a tear after taking to the mb dealership and was told that it is a common problem and my 7 speed transmission has kinda of a slip in 3 and 4 gear also took to my dealership and was told there is nothing wrong did more research and found out that its also a common problem

Burning smell inside the car and static and crackling noise from the speaker system. Noise continued with engine off. Vehicle was taken to the mercedes benz dealer for repairs. The sound amplifier and the center dash speaker were found to be burnt. They replaced the sound amp., flash & scn code command unit, and satellite radio control unit

The vehicle was in transit on the highway at cruising speeds when suddenly the right rear speaker began to make noises that sounded like a rattling or crackling. Previously, the car had been making similar crackling noises from the front dashboard, however upon the spread of this noise to the right rear speaker, the car soon filled with the smell of burning rubber and smoke. As the smell progressed, i pulled over in fear of a potential fire and had the vehicle towed after i was told that it could catch on fire if i continued driving it. This is an extremely dangerous issue that could more severely effect another individual should they not be as keen on noticing cabin sounds and or the smell of smoke. The smell of smoke is rather potent and intense though, so it is unlikely that would go unnoticed.

08/13/2018 when i was driving home today steering and brakes failed for like 1-2 minutes and i lost control.. Then all the instrument warning lighting started to flash continually the temp gauge and rpm was in motion. Srs and all pre safe functions malfunctioned i can send an video of this if there is a way to upload. I think this is a serious safety issue what if i lost control on a highway, even for a split seconds. Why i bought a mercedes i thought its a safer car well that's how they advertise it the best or nothing. But that couple of minuteswas scary and shocking for me

Driving on highway when abruptly car slowed down (lost cruise control), heard an instrument sound and noticed amber warning light on instrument panel "active blind spot assist inoperative", "active lane keeping assist inoperative" "histrionic plus inoperative", "pre-safe inoperative" - these warnings cycled repeatedly. Lasted 45-60 seconds, then everything returned to normal. Incident has occurred on 5 separate occasions. Have had car looked at for this twice and they can't find anything wrong to explain it.

The contact owns a 2014 mercedes-benz e350. While driving 35 mph, the contact smelled a burning odor and noticed smoke coming from the rear passenger door. The contact pulled over and heard a sizzling noise coming from the rear passenger door speaker. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home. The manufacturer was notified and advised that the vehicle be taken to a local dealer. The contact drove to mercedes-benz of pleasanton (5885 owens dr, pleasanton, ca 94588, (925) 463-2525) where it was diagnosed that the rear passenger speaker was melted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 87,000.

The contact owns a 2014 mercedes-benz e350. While driving various speeds, the speakers in the rear of the vehicle made an abnormal noise and then began to smoke. There were no warning indicators illuminated. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (mercedes-benz of south orlando, 4301 millenia blvd, orlando, fl 32839, 888-398-3936) where diagnostic testing found no failures. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but no further assistance was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 51,968.

Burning smell inside the car and static/cracklings noise from the speaker system. Noise continued with engine off as well as engine on. Speakers started popping with sound like gunfire. Smelled like electrical fire was happening. Then all of a sudden huge amounts of smoke began to fill the back inside of car around the back door passenger side as i sat in the car. Car was in parked position at this moment n engine was running n radio on. I turned off car and stream n jumped out of car was extremely frightening moment. Still popping sound after engine was turned off so i call 911. Fire dept n police came out n smelt burning smell from smoke n heard popping from believe speakers therefore fire dept dismantle several fuses from under hood etc since they could not dismantle the door panel where the smoke was spilling from. This was extremely emotional for me. I feel the car is a safety hazard and mercedes need to pay for this repair n dealer where it was purchased

While driving on the highway there was a burning smell coming from inside the car. My son pulled over and opened the driver side door there was smoke coming from the front door speaker. We found several complaints online of the same issue with same year make and model of mercedes. We brought it to ray catena in edison nj explained the problem and they stated it was not covered even though they stated a faulty amplifier after trying to replace the speaker which melted on them as well. This is a definite safety issue as my son could have been injured be so he was driving at the time. This was not a normal wear and tear repair.

While driving on the highway, i attempted a heavy acceleration to get the car up to traffic speed.two times in the past 60 days, the car seriously malfunctioned with multiple dashboard indicator lights and the main text "pre safe functions limited" accompanied by a total loss of speed control.the accelerator became 100% unresponsive and i had to coast to an emergency lane.there was significant danger in both instances as i had to cross multiple lanes of traffic with no power to get to safety.the weather was clear and the external sensors were not obstructed by dirt or snow- which has previously caused the pre-safe functions limited message.i believe that the multiple errors indicated on the dashboard are all erroneous to the core issue of a sudden and total loss of power upon heavy acceleration.the resolution was to shift the car into park, push the ignition button as if turning the vehicle off, wait and restart.the car operates normally upon restart.note that the engine appeared to already be off prior to shifting into park. It is as if the heavy acceleration killed the engine.this issue has potential fatal consequences if the driver is unable to get the car out of the lane of high speed traffic-- as i was in.a less experienced or panicked driver could easily fail to handle the situation and get rear ended at high speed as the car can only be reset by getting it into park and restarted.similar blog posts online report the same with other mercedes vehicles.i have had the car for four months and it has happened twice.seems like a software/electronic issue causing the mechanical issue to me.very dangerous.

The contact owns a 2014 mercedes benz e350. The contact stated that the lane control feature failed to work intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer. The technician was unable to replicate and diagnose the failure. The contact waited longer than six weeks for a response from the dealer who indicated that the concern was to be escalated to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000.

Right rear speaker started making a crackling sound and interior smells like burning rubber or wires. Sound happens even if radio is turned off.

Speaker in right rear door has melted for the second time in 5 months, creating a burning odor in vehicle.

Trunk has opened 6 - 8 times on its own.in just over 5,000 miles of ownership and two documented attempts to repair the problem persists.the trunk opens on its own in nearly any combination of; in motion, stopped, in gear, out of gear, moderate speed (40-50 mph), low speed (a crawl) cool temps., warm temps., top up, top down.i have even tried, while the car is in motion, to deliberately open the trunk with the key fob and with the door mounted release. It did not open when i tried to replicate an unintentional opening. Most recent incident, 10/24/2020- while in my garage, temperature cool ~ 65 degrees, key in ignition engine and running for about 1-2 minutes, both car doors closed, putting on seat belt, emergency brake still on, still in park, heard the trunk pop open.confirmed the open trunk in the rear-view mirror.the eight + months between this occurrence and the last attempt to repair is misleading asthe car's been driven less than 500 miles between the last repair and when the trunk opened on its own this time.

I saw "power steering malfunction" light appeared and my power steering stop working immediately. The car was in drivable condition and i had to make only one right turn to reach home.this has happened when mileage on my car was 30509well below 50,000-mile warranty.earlier year ago, i bought the car with salvage license. Salvage license was issued as car was stolen and insurnace company was not able to recover. It was recovered after that without any damage.no accident to the car.mb has voided the warranty due to salvage license. I want to bring to your attention (irrespective of type of title) as inherent problem exist.

Weather was hot and had been driving on highway for hours at time of incident. Speakers started popping with sound like gunfire. Smelled like electrical fire was happening then some smoke seen. Stopped car. Still heard popping several minutes after car turned off and exited car. Mechanic was called and found popping in speakers and especially rear deck bass speakers. He received 2 small 2nd degree burns after touching them with back of his hand. He disconnected bass speakers and problem was mostly solved though similar but single pops still periodically continue on/near other speakers in car. Will probably have same failure issue on remaining speakers in near future.

Cruising at 65 mph the esc lights came on and the car lost power.it no longer responded to the accelerator and required that you pull off the road, come to a stop, and restart the car.this same problem has happened 3 more times once at 35 mph on a straight road; once at about 20 mph making a turn and again cruising on an expressway at ~50 mph.this is an extremely dangerous defect, since a failure of this type when entering a highway or trying to overtake another vehicle could cause a high speed accident, resulting in serious injuries or fatalities. The car has been to the dealer twice to fix this, and is now back for the third time.

While driving on a side street looking for an address, a warning message appeared something like "lane guidance system inoperative". Subsequently, the engine lost power and would not move the vehicle more than about 3 mph. We pulled off to the side, not knowing what to do. I shut off the engine and restarted it and it appeared to work normally for the rest of the trip home. We wonder what would have happened if we had been in a middle lane on a freeway when this happened. I plan on contacting the dealer today for more information and to have them inspect the car.

My claim # is10691110 the lane control does not function consistantly. Sometimes when you cross a line, the rear brake on the opposite side of the car automatically applies bringing the car back to the center of the lane, other times it doesn't.i demonstrated this to the maintenance mgr. With no satisfaction. I've discussed with a case mgr on several times, with no satisfaction. I've written the pres of mercedes on two occassions, who referred my concern back to the same case mgr. Who says it is functioning as designed,in spite of the fact i demonstrated to the dealer maint. Supervisor that it doesn't.i asked for a regional person to ride with me so i could demonstrate the inconsistancy of the way it functions. I was denied my request. Nhtsa seems to be my only hope for getting my safety concern resolved for me and any others who may have the same problem. The problem was demonstrated on state rt. 33 in dublin oh. Withpaintedroad lines that were consistint. I have many notes of additional detail ifwanted.

Distronic was in use, and failed. Abs locke up, causing me to skid into another vehicle.

Driving the car at 45 mph and the display messages come on that stated, "pre safe functions limited, inoperative" in addition, the esp and abs warning lights illuminated. The vehicle loses power and has very limited acceleration. It has occurred twice, once on city road and once on highway at 55 mph. Shutting and restarting the car eliminates the problem for the time being. If this happens again and i am unable to pull over safely, it will be a life-threatening emergency. I will be rear-ended at high speeds by traffic behind me. After the first incident, i took it to dealer and they adjusted computer. The same exact thing happened just 4 days later. This has the potential to cause massive fatalities similar to those in the gm debacle. I see this has also been reported as a problem in the 2014 cla 250 models.

Was driving on 95n around 65 mph when vehicle loses power !!! i was in the left hand lane and traffic was flowing. It was by the grace of god that i made it to the right shoulder without causing a major accident for myself as well as for other vehicles. The engine light came on and the anti skid and anti skid off lights came on also it said consult owners manual. The vehicle is brand new and i never want to drive it again!!!. After i stopped i cut the vehicle off and restarted the vehicle to try and get home. On the way home it did it three more times. I could have killed myself and my daughter also who ever else was on the road. Once i got home i was really pissed after reading about all the other benz owners that had the exact same problem.this is terrible for a brand new mercedes !!!!!!

Foot on brake to effect reverse and the engine acceleratedat high speed uncontrolled and hit two cars in reverse and totally destroyed my car.. The vehicle was stopped in a parking lot

Mercedes dealership informed me that the rear main seal of my automobile is leaking and could be extremely dangerous. They have refused to correct this safety violation. They have to pull the engine to correct it. This leakage could cause a fire causing loss of life. I was informed the dealer would repair this for anyone driving a 2014 diesel auto. Since less then 3% of cars are diesel powered this is obviously a way for mercedes to avoid repairs. They started repairing this problem in diesel cars before my warranty expired. I have brought my mercedes in for regular maintenance checks. It is obvious that the company is trying to avoid losses rather than repairing safety problems. My auto was purchased brand new. I am worried about my life and my children. This is gross negligence and could lead to loss of life if not corrected.

The contact owns a 2014 mercedes benz e-350. The contact stated that there were high temperature emission fumes coming into the engine and passenger compartments. A missing bolt that holds the emissions portions that routs the emission fumes out of the vehicle. The engine compartment now had damage of burned installation, melted electrical wiring and components and the fire wall all having to be replaced. The dealer (mercedes-benz of west houston 1025 highway 6 n, houston, tx 77079 (281) 492-5800) have the vehicle and were performing the repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 84,579.

While driving the vehicle at 40mph on a city street, all warning lights suddenly came on and the motor stalled. The vehicle lost all steering, braking and speed control. The vehicle had to be removed from the road by a tow truck. It was a dangerous situation as the vehicle lost all controls while in motion. The vehicle was locked in park and dash warning of "pre-safe conditions, do not shift."

Car was purchased from mercedes dealershipin 2016 and has only been seen by mercedes dealerships for service. In 2019, a oil seepage was noted during annual maintenance however no repair or diagnosis was performed. At this time, the car only had 36,000 miles on it. In nov of 2020, the car was taken in to the same dealership for annual service. The car now only had 40,000 miles but was given a 50k service. At the time of service, the technician explained that oil was leaking from the engine cover and had also contaminated the drive belts. Repairs to engine cover, belt and tensioner came to $3000+. Dealership had no explanation for why after such a short time with limited driving, the car had such significant repairs needed. A tire pressure sensor had also failed. From my research this issue is known, however should not be happening to a car beginning only 5 years after of manufacturing with less than 37,000 miles.

My husband and i just purchased a 2014 mercedes e 350 convertible and the first time i placed a standard size water bottle in the cup holder it fell under the pedals on the first turn. The cup holder are not safe to use for any cups or bottles.

Fuel smells and leaks similar to earlier models.mercedes claims this to be normal if the tank is overfilled when i called but don't remember the name of the person.

I bought my first mercedes 20 days ago, i was driving with my kids around 6:30pm when suddenly i smell fuel inside the car and another vehicle approaches me to advised me that my car was leaking fuel all over the road. I took my kids out of the car immediately and i contacted the mercedes benz service department for help and i was told by a receptionist that the service department was closed that i need to contact a tow service that way the vehicle can be deliver to the dealership for service. You can't imagined how i felt on the side of the road at that time alone with my 2 kids with a car leaking fuel. I'm very disappointed!!

My steering wheel will not telescope up/down. I have had this repaired 2x's in the past 3 years. 5/2017, 6/2018, 8/2019, 12/2020additionally, the blind spot assist notification goes off when there's not a car around me. Typically happens when i'm driving and go down a slight decline in the road.

The transmission jerks between 3-4 gear up shift change, creating instability on wet or slick road conditions which can cause your car to lose control. Furthermore, the jerking created can create a car accident or injury in low speed, stop an go traffic. Mercedes benz claims it is performing as designed and is not accepting liability for there defective product.

Car exhibits a rough/unpredictable shifting and acceleration at intermittent intervals. Issue presents itself at random times and at random speeds so it is difficult to recreate at will. Especially dangerous when attempting to pass or avoid hazards at highway speeds; when you press on the gas sometimes there is a long delay before acceleration begins, and then the acceleration is more than expected for the accelerator input. Other times the car acts normally and will respond properly to accelerator inputs. At low speeds shifts from 3 to 4 and 4 to 3 are sometimes abrupt/rough which is not consistent with a car of this caliber. The car also had a rear end shake from new, so dealer replaced rear tires, and then when shaking persisted they replaced the front tires, but there is still a noticeable rear end shake which the dealer attributes to "road feel" due to low profile tires, but i've had automobiles with low profile tires and i am a mechanical engineer, so i know what road feel from a low profile tire is vs shaking which was clearly present otherwise they would not have replaced all four tires. Car has been in and out of the dealer multiple times, but the shaking, and transmission issues persist.

Rattle/ticking sound from driver side interior b pillar area.verified by road test with technician at dealership. Dealership replaced multiple sets of seat belt height adjuster as well as seat belt assembly.issues returns within a week of repairs.highly concerned with the reliability of this vehicle's safety equipment.

The mb-tex upholstery has a 10 inch tear along the "seam" of the upholstery on the driver's seat near the center of the seat.on further research, this is an extremely common problem related to mercedes with mb-tex (not simply this year and model).

The passenger seat had been moved forwardusing the lever or handle on the upper seat back side to move the seat forwardto enable a woman whjo had recently had bilateral knee replacement surgery to be seated in the back seat. When the seat back was ereturned to its upright position it moved back forcefully into this woman's knees and did not stop until her husband reached the seat back lever rleleased it and moved the seat forward.this caused her pain she screamed and flailed about with her arms damaging a rear wind screen in the car. The car was not in motion. It was stationary in my driveway. There is no safety sensor. There could have been a terrible outcome if her husband had been slower or if there had been a small child or a pet in the wrong place.

Hello, i am writing in concerns for my air bag safety issues.my light have been on stating that there is a issue with the front left panel airbag and i inform ny dealership of the letter i received and i was told that i need more information in order for them to cover the cost to repair.please advise.also my front drivers seat keep cracking.i have had the splits repaired twice and now others have appeared.

The vehicle was serviced on 11/27/13. On 12/2/13 pulling away from a stop sign there was a loud pop and sudden drop to the car. After getting out of the vehicle and looking to see what had happened we noticed that the wheel had detached from the car. Police were notified right away because the vehicle was still in the road. Mercedes benz embrace was notified directly afterwards and informed as to what had happened. The tow truck driver had to take a bolt out of each remaining wheel to re-attach the one that came off to load the vehicle onto the flat bed. Four lug bolts were missing. We did find a piece of a broken bolt laying on the ground not far from the car. The car was towed to the mercedes benz in memphis. I think this is a serious defect and should be thoroughly investigated to save the life of other drivers, had this happened to me on the interstate were i would have been driving at the speed of 70 mph all of us sitting in the car would have been dead and no one would have been able to find the cause. I hope you will take immediate action. Thanks

Rotors fail after vehicle was idle for 12 weeks.rust caused the rotors to make brakes pulsate.dealer would not honor warranty, and maintained that the rotors were wear and tear items.but shop foreman informed me that this has been a problem for the last ten years and that they replace rotors of vehicles on the lot which have sat for several weeks in the winter.upon my inspection of the rotors it was clear to see that the rust did indeed cause the surface of the rotors to score and deform.

Electric steering failed while driving on a city street. Almost crashed, wife's car, i was driving. She would never have been able to turn the steering wheel to safely get the car off the road.. Steering failure alert came on dash. Weekend, problem not diagnosed yet. A web site shows that there was a factory recall for this problem with cars built between aug. 2013 to aug. 2015. Bad electric motors.car has 32,000 miles

Recall notices and failure to provide a remedy for steering column issues, etc. Which present potential for dangerous airbag deployment, have surfaced no resolution. Dealerships have ignored questions and representatives have been hostile when asked about numerous safety issues.

'steering wheel malfunction' display while driving. The steering wheel couldn't be turned. I could either go straight or reverse, but could not turn the steering wheel. I was driving out of my neighborhood, all of the sudden, the display popped up, before i was going down the curvy hill. This is dangerous that it can just happen while you drive. It can take someone's life if drive out on the freeway at a high speed and the steering wheel cannot be turned. It is also dangerous for me to stop in the middle of the street in my neighborhood because i couldn't turn left or right to even park the car safely. I was lucky that the display popped up and the steering wheel malfunction occurred before i drive down the curvy hill to get on the freeway. Had this happened when i got on the curvy hill or the freeway, a potential death accident couldhave occurred.

Power steering malfunction (cannot turn but the power was still on. The screen in front of driver's seat also showed the message.) suddenly happened in a second when i drove in a low speed (around 25-30). I was very very lucky enough to slide my car slowly by the curb since the traffic was not heavy. I got my car towed to the dealer which i just finished my yearly maintenance 10 days ago. They found my car's computer had a bug. They re-programmed my car's computer in the next day. The problem has solved so far. This had happened about 2 weeks ago.i googled to find this problem seems happened a few times before but no recall. I did the maintenance with the dealer every year. Due to the defect and dealer's negligence, my life had seriously threatened by this critical situation. I would urge you to investigate the severity for this case to avoid other accidents happening.

My electrical power steering stop working while i was driving. On dash"power steering malfunction-check user's manual" i was about get crash, luckly . Pulled over safely. Barely can turn the power steering. I try to drive next day, still not working.

Takata airbags: warning lights constantly come on and go off indicating: "passenger airbag inoperative"&steering column module ground: recall notice give, but no parts available to fix - this is not acceptable

While driving the onboard computer failed resulting in all the warning lights going on and disabling the power steering. My mechanic determined that it was due to the blind spot sensors which are located in the rear bumper going bad because of salt corrosion. Wrote to mercedes but have not received even a response. See the attached letter in the documentation section.

The contact owns 2014 mercedes-benz e350. The contact stated while reversing, the gear shifter failed to release from park. The contact restarted the vehicle and the gear shifter failed to release from the reverse position into drive. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to mercedes-benz of coconut creek (4250 fl-7, coconut creek, fl 33073, (954) 406-1167) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the steering control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 37,800.*ln consumer stated malfunction happened several times.

In october of 2013 i leased a 2014 mercedes e350. The vehicle had been parked overnight at my home on 12/25/13 and upon entering the vehicle on 12/26/13, i noticed a large crack extending approximately 15 inches from the bottom of the driver's side windshield wiper and up to the center portion of the windshield.when i parked the vehicle at my home on 12/25/13 this large 15 inch crack did not exist. I took the vehicle to themercedes dealership on 12/27/13 and was told the huge crack in the windshield was caused by a small impact, about the diameter of a pencil point just below the windshield wiper. The extremely small pencil point diameter impact caused the windshield to develop the crack overnight while the vehicle was parked at my home, since the large crack didn't exist when i last exited my vehicle at my home on 12/25/13.i believe that if such a small pencil point sized impact as alleged by the dealer, could cause such a large crack to develop overnight while my vehicle was parked at my home, the windshield itself is defective and the weakness of the e350 windshield poses a serious safety hazard.

My husband and i just purchased a 2014 mercedes e 350 convertible and the first time i placed a standard size water bottle in the cup holder it fell under the pedals on the first turn. The cup holder are not safe to use for any cups or bottles.

My car has an electronic trunk closure. With this feature, when someone kicks their foot under the rear bumper of the car, the trunk lid opens or closes automatically, assuming he or she has the car fob in his or her possession. My wife has had the trunk lid close on her head on two occasions while taking items our of the trunk. She inadvertently engaged the automatic closure while leaning into the trunk. The first time, the trunk lid hit the back of her head, the second time it hit her forehead.in each case for several days following the accident, she had headaches and swelling at the point of contact with a black and blue mark on her forehead the second time. She took medication to relieve the headaches and applied ice packs to reduce the swelling of her head.while my wife is ok now, she could have been more seriously hurt by this poorly designed car feature.this represents a safety hazard in the automobile.

Mercedes benz e350 2014 - panoramic sunroof rattling and squeaking noise/sound:this issue has been reported by many online, and it is a well known problem with e350. It starts with a little bit of squeak and metallic rattle noise here and there, and then after a year or so it is almost happening all the time as you drive the car.dealer states that sunroof frame bolts have to be retorqued and loose bolts which rattle around have to be put back on. Estimated cost $712.if not a safety risk causing pano sunroof to eventually fly off, it should definitely be a recall as many e350 owners have reported the same issue, and it is a manufacturer defect.

The contact owns a 2014 mercedes-benz e350. While driving 20 mph, smoke was detected coming from the speaker located on the rear passenger door. The vehicle was taken to atlanta classic cars (1705 boggs rd nw, duluth, ga 30096, (770) 279-3600) and the contact was informed that the speaker burst. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 81,000.

This vehicle is. A 2014 mercedes benz e350 cabrioleton this vechile there is a latch on front seats that if pulled forward will make way to enter rear seats being that idly is a two door car this is the same lay out for accessing back seats for the coupe model the latch that must be pulled is some kind of plastic covered in some kindof metal.decorative materialthis metal has peeled of with no cause he edges of this metal that is defective on these cars is extremely sharp we have severely cut are hands with out realizing these defect was there i was informed that other cars also have these problem it is a major safety risk because itis a part of the vehicle you mustphysicallygrab with your hands to have back seat access this patch is very dangerouse please be carfull it can appear out of no where like it happened to us every thing was ok then the metal coating just became defective and peeling of on its ownps i have been told from service advisors they have seen this before and other people have been injuredthe brown stuff on the latch is bandaids we placed there so our children don't get injured from the metal

E350 sport model w/ 18 inch amg wheels and low profile tires. Jan 19 i hit a pothole on a busy bridge during rush hour. My 5th blowout of a front tire on the same car. Narrowly missed hitting a tractor trailer as my car swerved as the tire rapidly deflated. Two tires were replaced in this incident because a rear tire had a sidewall bubble develop after hitting the pothole.. One amg bent rim was replaced.this is not a complaint revolving around the cost. I have a tire and wheel warranty that covers me for the cost of these blowouts. This is a major safety issue.i must point out that while changing the tire i watched hundreds of vehicles hit the same pothole and not one got a blow out until along comes another e350 who hit the pothole and blew out the driver side front and rear tires. I suffered two blowouts with the same tires on my previous 2012 e350. The tires in question are continental conticontact pro. I am only concerned with my safety and the safety of other mercedes e350 owners and other drivers who could be injured or killed by a mercedes e350 losing control in a blowout. My mercedes dealership reported to me that they replaced thousands of tires recently from pothole blowouts. Most of them on e350s.numerous complaints exist online and on this website. Mercedes benz usa customer carewould not acknowledge any problem. In my humble opinion this problem represents a major safety problem for this vehicle. Mercedes benz is burying their head in the sand and hoping the complainers will just go away.it will take deaths, if they have not already occurred, to bring this to the forefront. Please investigate and acquire the actual blow out statistics from all of the us mercedes benz dealers. I would suggest that you do that from the individual dealerships rather than mb usa who will probably not be truthful about those numbers.

I have had 6 blow outs or bumps in my times in 2.5 years with these contiprocontact 245/40 r 18 97v tires in normal, urban driving.the rep at the dealership told me that this is a very common issue with these tires and he does not recommend them to anyone.the most recent blowout happened with i was driving 40 mph and i did not hit a pothole or bump. That tire was only 3 months old when it blew. In the previous 10 years, i had 2 blow outs on my previous.please investigate

Pre safe collision warning system fault, with repeated false alerts while vehicle in motion, without any nearby vehicles or obstructions ahead. False alerts can result in sudden braking response, which can be a hazard to following or surrounding traffic.

While parked for about 30 minutes after a short drive smoke began coming out from the front grill, from under the hood, and from wheel wells.fire dept. Was called immediately.the fire station was next to the parking lot where the car was parked so they arrived quickly.the insurance company determined the car was a total loss..

While driving the onboard computer failed resulting in all the warning lights going on and disabling the power steering. My mechanic determined that it was due to the blind spot sensors which are located in the rear bumper going bad because of salt corrosion. Wrote to mercedes but have not received even a response. Driver side door started to smell of fire on 4/10/2017 @ approximately 1600 less than 1/4 mile from home. Pulled car into drive and shut engine down, immediately contacted mercedes-benz of tampa. Rep asked me to bring car in to service dept. Did so.

Pre safe collision warning-the lights beeps when there is nothing in front our next to me.it is very distracting.i took the car in to the dealer three times already for the same problem. Now it is still beeping.there needs to be a recall because it is very distracting and can cause an accident.

After driving for 1 hour, back seat shelf speaker made a loud popping and humming noise and emitted a strong burning smell. Trunk opened and confirmed smoke coming from rear amplifier, strong smell of plastic melting and speakers were too hot to touch. Disconnected amplifier from battery and took vehicle to dealer who confirmed. Dealer re-hooked amplifier to battery, confirmed that amplifier was indeed smoking and speakers would need replacing as well. Vehicle only has 57,750 miles and is out of warrantee. Local dealer maintenance representative agreed that a vehicle with such low mileage should not be catching fire but dealer would not cover cost of repair.

I was easing into my garage and suddenly the car accelerated and the brakes would not work.

Takata recall

My 2014 mercedes-benz e350s wagon has known defective wood trim that has faded within 5 years and has became cloudy, and deteriorated over time due to inadequate uv ray protection.there have been several law suites for models 2009 to 2016.the dealer and mercedes-benz usa headquarters told me that that the wood would have to be replaced at my cost. This is a known defect and the dealers have been told to sell cars and don't mention that the wood would fade over time.

Distronic was in use, and failed. Abs locke up, causing me to skid into another vehicle.

Pin point indentation below passenger side wiper developed into a 15 inch windshield crack.location of the indentation made it impossible for a stone or object to hit the windshield that far below the hood line.suspect a defective windshield was installed at the factory.

While driving east bound on hwy20 a small piece of gravel/rock hit the windshield and made a small ding. Over the next few days a crack began to form that began at the base of the windshield and spread up and angled across the middle of the windshield.

2nd rim to crack under normal use [in fl, not the north east with potholes] mercedes mechanic told us that they never should have mounted low profile tires on this rim.the tires do not offer enough protection for the rim from normal driving hazards.this should be a recall item as a cracked rim causes flats, at high speed that can be deadly

Repeated flat tire/tire damage while driving over small potholes in roadin washington dc metro area(small roads/highway). Frequently 2 tires are damaged on the same side. . required replacement of nine tires since 2015 with five tires changed over the last 5 months(since august 2018).apparently, low profile continental tires(245/40r18) used by mercedes for the e350 are known to be a road hazard. On one occasion, a "bubble" was noted during inspection of tire.i was told no other/more durable tires can be used with the e350 model! clearly, this tire model is prone for frequent failure and may present a road hazard for drivers and car occupants.

Thanks

I'm currently driving a 2104 e350 4matic with about 20,000miles on it, the front passenger wheel cracked from the inside. Upon further research it seems that the wheels cracking on the mercedes is a known issue and a class action law suite has been filed in ny for the same.after contacting customer service, they said they don't have this issue in the database and they would not give me an escalation line or anyone that's willing to look into this issue to determine the cause of the problem and take care of.

While driving the air pressure notification lit up on the dashboard.within 10 minutes i was in my driveway i glanced at the tires to see if they are low (only 3 lbs difference was lit up on the front right tire) and noticed on the front left tire that a bubble on the sidewall that had suddenly appeared which was not there earlier in the day.

Bought vehicle in september 2013 the car has less than 17k miles.. I have changed the tires atleast 5 times and wheels atleast 1 time. I have been told that it is because i hit a pot hole, but never in my other cars for years and 6 times on this is impossible.

While driving on the lie in new york i hit a pot hole and the tire blew out through the sidewall. This is the 5th tire within 7 months always in the front and i have replaced with new tries.i went to mercedes service and there were 9 others in the service area with same problem. Very hole or bump the tire explodes, creating a dangerous condition of having to stop abruptly on a highway with cars and trucks. Last time i was in the hov lane and had to cross the entire highway to get off almost getting into an accident. It is to the point my wife will not drive the car anymore for fear of being stuck on the side of the road at night or on the highway. When i explained to mercedes i was told by the service manger not to hit pot holes and they do not build the roads. I explained but you built this car to drive on ny roads and this dangerous. I was told by one of the service people that they had 40 cars come in with the issue last month. I service my car at silver star mercedes in long island city.

The vehicle was bought used with 10000 miles it now has approx 25000 so in 15000 i've had 6 tires changed on the vehicles do to flats. In one of the instance i got a double flat at the same time and since the tires are new on the vehicle i unfortunately had to replace the tires with the same tires. These tire go flat at a blink the side walls are thin and get sliced easly the tread part of the tire gets punctued easily and often the repair shop tells you that the flats have damage the tires and cannot be repairedso you have to buy a new one @$275.00. I have never owned a vehicle that has had this many tire problems. I believe these tires are defective and are going to cause an accidentbecause they are easily damaged. There are also several complaints online about these tires and continental not even acknowleging peoples complaints, some one needs to check these out.
