I purchased a certified pre- owned mercedes-benz e 350 2010 on december 4,2013, fromvalley motors mercedes-benz dealership at 9800 york road, cockeysville, md 21030.the driver's headrest has exploded three times,2 days after a 30,000 mile service. On the second explosion an odor was emitted and the srs failure messages for both right and left headrests appeared on the dash.the mb salisbury dealer replaced the headrest on the firstservice attempt. The second attempt they gutted the car and found a foreign intrusion and the wiring had to be replaced at $9000.my options would be to repair it at my cost, go through my insurance, or seek help through mbusa or the dealer where i purchased the car. Salisbury mb told me in the mb records that the headrest was previously replaced in october 2013 at valley motors. I was unaware of any replaced headrest in the service records and car fax that i received when i purchased the vehicle and double checked my paperwork.my records was a car fax that showedvehicle records to 7/2/ 2013, the cpo inspection report done on 09/05/13, and an invoice for work done on 9/9/13 at valley motors. No service records for the headrest repair and why it was done.i called the salesperson, shady samy, at valley motors ( 10/3/14)and he also told me the headrest was replaced before i purchased the car at valley motors.he said i have bumper to bumper coverage and to call customer care at mb. Mb will not cover this. Valley motors have decided to do nothing to repair the vehicle. They said i did this to the car. I did not. I have asked several people including the salesperson why was the headrest replaced at valley motors before i purchased it. They do not answer. They did not find this when they replaced the headrest and now do not want to repair a defect that was there when i purchased the vehicle. I am forced to drive an unsafe vehicle.

This occured while driving into driveway at shopping center, parking spot, and multiple times in restraunt parking lot. It also occured at a stop sign ans stop light.the start stop issue has been occuring for at least one year, despite dealer service and the shift to park issue began a few weeks back.

Took my car to mercedes benz of chicago on 2 occasions for the recall. They refused to replace the airbag that was recalled unless i get the seatbelt retractor fixed which was $600. They also tried to get me to look at newer vehicles to purchased. I feel like they were trying to get me to spend money on labor for other things wrong with the vehicle in order to get recall done.i also didn't like the fact that they kept my car overnight and made sales calls to me.

"takata recall" six months after the takata safety recall was issued i contacted mercedes benz costumer service via phone asking for a time line as to when and how they plan to resolve the situation. The answer i received was that they not only have no timeline to resolve the matter but that the problem involving my car model was not a priority since they have had no incidents.i am filling this complain because the manufacturer is failing to resolve the matter in a timely manner. Mercedes benz is unable to provide me with any specific plans to remedy the safety recall for my vehicle six months after the recall was issued. Theycited the recall is a precautionary measure, that they have had no incidents and when confronted with the fact that other manufacturers have plans or are fixing the issue, i was told "they must have had incidents". Am i to conclude they are waiting for an accident in one of their cars to start acting upon this issue?

Takata recallin dec 2017 i was notified that my airbag initiators required replacement and parts would be available by march 31,2018. According to mercedes they have no idea as of today (10/22/2018) when the parts will be available. I have intentionally avoided driving the vehicle for almost one year because of the hazard that exists with the airbag. ( i have driven the vehicle less than 1500 miles since last december)this situation is unsatisfactory. My patience has ended. Other than selling the vehicle, what are my options now ?

Takata recall: i was notified of this recall regarding my driver side airbag almost a year ago with no contact or remedy since. Mercedes has also refused to provide alternate transportation at the dealer and manufacturer level, saying no one has been injured yet. I feel mercedes should take responsibility for the safety of its customer and provide loaner vehicles while we wait for replacement airbags. I don't feel my life should be put at risk for this issue.

A pint of orange juice spilled on the floor of the passenger side back seat.it was cleaned up, but apparently some of the juice was able to eventually make its way into the unprotected electrical connector located under the passenger seat floor well.this caused an electricalshort. Actual burn marks in the wiring near the harness connector are clearly visible.fortunately, there was no fire, and the only indication of a problem was that the air bag service light eventually came on.

Safety recall on drivers side air bags has not been remedied yet
If i'm coming to a stop at a light or a stop sign, the car throws itself into park before i come to a complete stop. It has happened intermittently. It happens in speeds of less than 5mph. When i turn the car off and restart the vehicle. The problem goes away. There isn't a specific temperature or time of day when it occurs. It just happens intermittently. I have also read a tech service bulletin on this issue for other mercedes owners.
Car shifting from drive or reverse into park on it's own
After driving the car for more than one hour the car will automatically shift into park when speed is below 6mph.
Check engine light comes on than off for a few day at a time. It cost $10,000.00 to have it replace. Don't have any issue with the car not starting or stalling. Car works great. Why is their no recall for this? thousand of people who pay good morning for a great car, like mercedes. We need a recall for this> hello!!!!plus, the wood trim are fading, i trade to get the dealer to replace it and they wont $3,500.00 to do so.

I backed the car out of the garage at my condominium building in sarasota and placed the car in park to remove something from the windshield (i believed the car was in park -- but it could have failed to engage it or i possibly nicked it on my way out of the car).i started to move out of the car, while my right foot was on the brake -- about 90% of my body weight was out of the car and then i took my right foot off the brake.the car started to move backwards and i was sandwiched between the left front door of the car and the car itself -- i dove to the ground to avoid being hit by the door, injuring my left side -- and then i rolled on to my back to avoid the door and then saw the left front wheel heading for both legs -- i tucked and dragged my body away -- the car passed by, missing my two legs by only an inch or two.the car crashed in to the fence of my condominium building.after talking with mercedes benz usa, i learned that the car did not have an automatic park feature -- but if i had purchased a keyless go feature, the electronic transmission would have had a feature that would have caused the transmission to go in to park as soon as the standing vehicle door was cracked.no one at my dealer and no one at mbusa service knew that this feature was available -- and then only if the buyer had purchased keyless go.this feature should be on all electronic transmissions from mb -- at a minimum, dealers and prospective customers should have been made aware of this missing safety item and its availability as an extra.mbusa has told me that this feature cannot be added to my car -- it is only available at the plant of manufacture.
My 2010 e350 check engine light comes on and off but mostly on for 5 days out of 1 week, 2 days off. Been doing this since i got it bought it in nov of 2015. I was told by other owners that this may cost up to $8/12gs to get it fix. Why there wasn't a recall for this? please expand, anyone??????
I bought a 2010 e350 mb in november of 2015 as a birthday gift. My 3rd week of own it the check engine light came on and keeps going on and off. Brought it back to the dealer where i bought it and told me to bring it to mb. Turn out to be heck engine light due to faulty camshaft adjuster solenoid on mercedes-benz e350. Why is their no recall on this, it cost $8,000.00 to get it fixed?
After driving the car for more than an hour the engine will not stop when using keyless go feature.
The car automatically shifts itself into park at speeds below 5miles per hour.it does this when the car is very hot. It literarily puts itself into park while the car is still moving.

2010 mercedes benz e350.consumer writes in regards to vehicle electrical problems.the dealer tested the battery and said it was good, but found a problem with the evap blower and installed a new engine fan after two days of analysis. On may 19, 2014, the vehicle failed to start, for a second time, and again the dealer stated there was nothing wrong with the battery, the dealer informed the consumer, the cabin light was left on causing the battery to be drained. On may 20, 2014, the vehicle failed to start right away, so he took the vehicle back to the dealer. He is currently waiting for another analysis.
I was driving on the turnpike andthank god no other cars were next to me. Sometimes when i go over 50 the car tends to pull in another direction. I took it to get service a week after i bought it and got my car back 6months later. Than the accident happened. They just replaced computer chip they said. The car has never driven right since i bought it. So when the car decided to pull to the left i was pulling with all my strength to just keep the wheel straight but i had no control and spun around 5 times n landed backwards on the turnpike facing on coming traffic. I'm so upset that i never got to enjoy the vehicle it still pulls and the dealership always says its fine. The car rattles. One day i was driving n the seat i was sitting on blew up for no reason. They replace only the inside parts and never the stitching on the seat so i have a ripped seat for something that was not my fault . This call is def a lemon or should be recalled.

Twice, recently while under hard acceleration of overtaking other cars the fault "esc inoperative" appeared on the dash along with the warning lights.this happened once during the initiation of an overtaking on a two lane road with oncoming traffic and another time at 75 mph while overtaking another vehicle on a two lane freeway.in both instances, vehicle was under hard acceleration, and the failure appeared immediately.after the fault appears, the car is significantly underpowered at all speeds and has difficulty achieving the acceleration needed in such conditions.at low speeds it is extremely underpowered and has difficulty accelerating away from a stop.the problem can temporarily be resolved by restarting the engine.
The vehicle has only 50k miles. I am the only owner and i purchased the vehicle in 2010 (new) with only 9 miles.i have completed all required services to date.in may i had the ab service complete and the check engine light was on. I was told it was likely due to the need of having the spark plugs change based on time not mileage. Now i am being told the outcome of the check engine light on is due to a misfire code for cylinder one, failed sds compression test. Cylinder one failed cylinder leak down test at 80%. Exhaust valve seats failing causing exhaust valves not to fully close. We are unable to repair the valve seat on cylinder head and it is necessary to replace passenger side cylinder head. Only camshafts and cam adjusters can be transferred. New head will come with new valves.there are repeated reports from other owners with this same issue-resulting in enormous repair cost.this is a defect and mercedes-benz need to consume the cost, especially since the vehicle has less than $50k miles.
We brought this vehicle from 3rd party. Transmission gear sound is coming so hard. I have very low mileage only 48k. I wen to delar, he told me to change the transmission or contact head office to resolve this issue. I need someone to help me for next step.
Another car made an illegal u-turn and caused me to t-bone on his passenger side. Front of my car hit his passenger side and dragged his car for about 10 feet. Air bags on my car did not deploy, safety system m-brace in car failed and did not call sos either. Car safety system did not detect the crash at all. Mercedes benz did not detect a crash....updated 09-10-14 the consumer stated she received soft tissue injuries to the neck, shoulders, and back, bruised elbow, and headaches and loud ringing for 10 days caused by the crash. Updated12/16/2014
Was told to replace the serpentine belt tensioner. Asked why the belt tensioner needs to be replaced was told that they give out and if you are driving it could cause an accident. This is before the replacement cycle for the belt (90k miles). So many people won't know this will happen creating accidents that could be avoided.
Knocking noise during vehicle start-upduring vehicle start-up, 2 sec knocking noise, then noise stop. Drop vehicle off, advice service representative to the issue. After there inspection, service representative inform me this was normal, the noise i'm hearing is the engine is pushing the oil faster to the chamber, this process prevent vehicle warm-up wait, ask to speak with the service shop manager, still waiting. Yes, still have the knocking noise during vehicle start-up.
During cold engine starting, a knocking can be heard in the engine. The knocking lasts approximately eight rotations, and then stops.
This complaint is for a 2010 bmw 535i xdrive.i went into the garage to start my car this morning wednesday, 10/28/09 and the check engine light came on and the car started shaking.i moved the car out of the garage and shut off the engine to see if it would reset, i started the car up again and the check engine light was still on and the car continued shaking, i drove the car about 50ft to see if it would stop shaking and light would go out but it did not.i drove the car back into the garage and waited about a 1/2 hour to try it again it was the same problem.i contacted the service department whom advised me to contact roadside assistance to have the car towed in because it should not be driven.i had the car towed to open road bmw where i had purchased the car from two (2) months ago.i spoke with the service advisor and asked had anyone else experienced this problem he said yes on the 2009 and 2010 models it seems to be the fuel pump.there seems to have been a problem with them, but once they have been replaced that seems to have fixed the problem.i am waiting to hear back from the service department.
We leased mercedes e350 year 2010 in february.car's response was very good and we liked the car very much.on june 16 i drove the car on freeway for about 23 miles then on the road for another mile with couple of red light stops. Then i turned left into the parking lot and right turn in to the parking spot.as i was about to park i heard engine revving up , (this sound i never heard before even when i started the car) car lunged forward on the parking median with grass (incline). To avoid running into the car on the other side i turned right, i started pumping the break, there was a tree and car clipped bark of the tree, damagingfrontand side of the car. Car stopped crossing over to the right. Ignition key 'thing' popped. Both air bags on the driver side were deployed, car stopped with two flat tires on the driver side. Luckily there was no on-coming car in the parking lot.it is my observation that some error had occurred for engine to rev up like this. Knee air bag did lot of damage to my legs. Left leg was bruised very heavily and swelled up where knee was not even visible.this is not to complain but to document the incidence.i want to make sure it does not happen again to me or anyone else.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz e350. The contact stated that the mute switch for the radio was defective. The mute switch was supposed to stay off until it was manually turned back on.the contact stated that the switch disengaged randomly several times within a few miles. The contact stated that the safety concern was while driving and the radio unexpectedly came on. Mercedes informed him that was the way it supposed to work.the failure mileage was 10,000.the vin was unknown.
The turn signal lever and cruise control lever are too close together and dangerous. Activated cruise control too many times in error. Not good engineering. To correct it they can take out the current cruise lever and put in a shot stubby one or extend the turn signal lever which would be harder as it controls the w/s wipers also. It can be corrected and needs immediate attention. Going to result in a serious problem from accidents. Needs immediate attention!!!!recall necessary. When it happens car speeds up!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rightturn signal light exploded in rain , glass cracked and was very hot to touch. Plastic casing was totally destroyed.
The engine ceased to have power and stopped on the freeway in commute traffic. The gas tank had more than half a tank of fuel. The fuel tank in this model is under the rear seat. Because the drive shaft and differential are in this area the gas tank is in two sections but connected. There is a pump in one section which transfers fuel to the other section when that section gets low. The pump failed and stopped transferring fuel. The mechanic had never seen this problem. A new fuel pump was ordered from mercedes in los angeles as the car was too new to have the part locally.
Strong fuel vapor odor from vehicle when more than 3/4 full. Residue on top of fuel system components under rear seats. Still present after replacing fuel filter, plastic seal-retaining ring and both seals. Recall for fuel system issued one model year prior and one model year after.
Fuel smell is strong while standing behind and the left side of the vehicle. The same smell exists whether the tank is empty or full.
Gas leak smell comingfrom driver side rear of the car. Car only has 40,000 miles. I believe my car has the same problem as with other mercedes class action lawsuit "2003-09 mercedes-benz e-class, 2006-11 cls-class fuel odor". Please reopen the investigation to include e350 2010 model as well.
Gas smell on the driver side back panel when the car is full of fuel. The car is stationary.
My car is emitting a strong gasoline odor near the rear of the car and this whether the car is stationary or in motion.
Have a fuel leak from passenger side sending unit. Seems like it is cracked. I cannot fill the tank ora massive leak.
Smell gas from my car. Gas leak. Smell gas whenthe car is parked or driven.
Many of us e class owners experience fuel smell coming from top of fuel pump under rear seat.many complaints on various blogs about this fuel smell leak issue. Dangerous!obviously plastic gasket and sealing issues!very prevalent!
Fuel odor after refueling to full tank, gas odor only when outside of car.no gas odor after fuel level has dropped about 1/8th (7/8th still in tank).can vissibly see fuel on outside of gas tank (wet and strong gas odor) when looking at fuel tank via rear passenger wheel well.
Strong gasoline smell emits from the car after filling up with gas.
Strong order of gasoline after refueling around the rear of car and inside of vehicle.there is a safety recall for same problem on 2009 mercedes benz e350 (reference tsb no. P47-10-63) but not on 2010 year model? why?
The vehicle emit a fuel odor from the rear. This is due to fuel leaks coming from the gas tank assembly.mercedes benz had these issue from 2003 to 2009e class. My car make is 2010- e350 having the above problem besides takata air bag. What are my options? the dealer doesn't care of the issue. Will benz resolve the issue ?
Request nhtsa immediately re-open the investigation of mercedes-benz' deliberate & continued use of defective fuel system components. The warranty extension offered by mb for 2003-2009 e-class sedans on fuel tank components, including fuel tank, fuel filter/sender, fuel pump & related gaskets/seals/retention rings, is not sufficient. Please require mb to extend the warranty to later model yrs & all e-class vehicles such as 2-dr coupe, not just the sedan. My vehicle has only 48,000 miles (driven <7,000 mi/yr) & fuel sending unit closing cover is now leaking. Gas fumes/leakage is so overwhelming that car cannot be driven or parked in a garage. Driver is in eminent danger of car bursting into flames if a spark or match is lit nearby. Plus owner risks damage/theft/bodily harm now being required to park on street rather than a secured garage.i've owned 8 other vehicles in my lifetime incl. Fiat, oldsmobile, ford, toyota & lexus. Never has any other vehicle had this problem. Plus several were 2x+ the age of this car & had 2-3x greater mileage. This fuel system problem is not caused by normal wear-&-tear or any fault of an owner. Repairs must be mandated by the nhtsa to be covered by mb due to fact that they have continued to use defective design & defective components, even knowing for years prior to manufacturing 2010+ models, this issue exists.the mb dealer wants to charge $1133.89 plus tax for the initial "closing cover" repair & will not guarantee that will even fix the problem. It may cost thousands more to have the entire fuel tank replaced if necessary.i implore you to seek justice for consumers like myself, harmed by mb's defective fuel tanks that allow fumes to seep into the cabin & broad area surrounding the exterior of vehicle, plus liquid fuel to leak on the ground.please relpy with specific action i can take to rectify this deplorable situation.
There is a strong fuel smell after we fill up gas.the smell is strong enough that we cannot put the car in garage because of the fumes entering the house when we open the garage door.
Car shifting from drive or reverse into park on it's own
After driving the car for more than an hour the engine will not stop when using keyless go feature.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz e350. The contact stated that while driving and stopping at a red light, the vehicle independently shifted into park. The failure recurred four times within a half an hour. The gear shift indicator indicated that the vehicle was in park. The contact shifted the vehicle into drive to move forward after the traffic light changed. The contact drove the vehicle back to her residence. The manufacturer was contacted and the contact was referred to mercedes-benz manhattan (770 11th ave, new york, ny 10019 (646) 846-6402). The dealer stated that the electronic engine switch needed to be replaced. The contact was provided a repair estimate. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 120,610.
The vehicle is putting itself into park when you slow down and get to about 2-3 m.p.h.
Rear differential pinion bearing. The rear differential is makinga howling and loud noise. The car only had about 60k miles and the bearing failed. This is a known issue for this model and other mercedes models as well. I got quoted around $3000 to fix this. This should not be an issue on a $65,000 car at this many miles. Mercedes benz needs to do a recall on the red differential since they fail at a very low mileage.
Faulty valve body on a car with less than 50k miles. Car has been maintained as per dealer recommendations. Transmission fluid had been recently changed 4 months prior. Transition failed in a life threatening manner while driving on a highway. Total loss of control of driving capabilities. Problem resulted in a total of $5585.29 in a rebuilt transmission andnew valve body. Upon researching this seems to be a reoccurring issue with the 722.9 transmission. A recall should be issued.
Whining sound from the engine. Gets louder as it goes faster.took it a mbz dealer in lynnwood washington.they said the car needs a new transmission. The car has 57k miles.dealer says its very unusual.....steering wheel was very difficult to turn.this happened when turning the corner in a heavy traffic.took it to a local mechanic and he had to replace a pump?
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz e350. The contact stated that while driving at 5 mph, the vehicle surged while in motion and inadvertently shifted from drive to park. The failure also occurred while reversing, or while making a stop. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to two independent mechanics and the mechanics informed him that there were no codes retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer. The failure mileage was 107,000.
After driving the car for more than one hour the car will automatically shift into park when speed is below 6mph.
2010 mercedes 350 e class 4 matic drive system defaults into second gear after each start cycle. This results in a compromise of torque when pulling into traffic whole fully loaded on a hot day.
The stitch seam of the "mb texture" of the driver's seat spontaneously burst upon my entering and sitting in the vehicle.the driver's door lock freezes and has not been operable via the key remote since then.
Seats torn in seam for a while . Started with a small crack and eventually grew over years . Mercedes needs to do better , this seams to be common with your cars
At 5 years my front heated seats stopped working and the drivers seat ripped across where i thought there was a seam. After researching other 2010 e350's with mb tech seats, they all appear to have the same problems. I have contacted mbusa many times in the past 3 years and have received no answer or solution. If you also look at ads of these vehicles for sale by owner, you will see the same issue. The only people who drive this car are; me and i'm 135lbs and my mother 93lbs, so we are not over weight and putting extra stress on the seats. This car has been well maintained and has always been garaged. When parked in a lot for shopping, shades on the windows are always used. I can provide photos, but not from the computer i'm using.
While driving approximately 25 mph,the contact stated that he depressed the brakes as he approached the intersection, but they failed to respond.finally, after going through the red light, he came to a full stop.no one was injured and the failure was reported.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz e350. The contact stated that while exiting a car wash, the brake pedal was engaged, and the brake pedal went to the floorboard. The contact drove the vehicle home. The contact inspected the vehicle and found that the brake lines were corroded and leaking throughout the brake hardline onto the heat shield. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 125,000.

The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz e350. While driving at 30 mph, there was an abnormal noise coming from the steering wheel. In addition, the steering wheel was difficult to turn. The contact had to apply force to the steering wheel in order to steer the vehicle. Upon further inspection, the contact noticed that there was no steering fluid, the contact refilled the vehicle with steering fluid, but the fluid depleted at a faster rate than usual. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the seal and the power steering pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 58,700. Ma 10/19/15 the consumer stated the vehicle was repaired in 2011 under recall but, the failure recurred. Updated 03/21/2016
While underway lost all steering. Steering wheel went to center and would not turn without extreme extreme excessive force.replaced power steering pump. On road test found same condition. Removed high-pressure line from pump to steering rack and found plastic liner from the rubber section of the high-pressure line broke free and was forced into the steering rack clogging the steering line. This was close to a high speed collision.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz e350. While driving 65 mph with the windows open, the contact could feel pressure from the wind in his ear. The pressure made his equilibrium unbalanced and nearly caused a crash to occur. The contact stated that he was familiar with several related complaints. The dealer and the manufacturer have been contacted. The manufacturer stated that he would had to open additional windows in the vehicle in order to alleviate the pressure. The failure mileage was 800.
Molds and mildew build up in the air condition ducts placing people who are susceptible for infection (people with weak immune system)at risk for fatal infection. The dealer stated that this is a known and common condition for this car because the ac box does not drain the condensed water. This is because the way the car was designed. The dealer recommended turning off the ac for 30 seconds while keeping just the fan on every time before turning off the car to dry up the condensed water on the ac coils, not practical.the dealer has a known service to disinfect the ac system but because of the car design could not guarantee that the condition will not return. There is no warning or any instructions in the manual regarding this potentially fatal condition for susceptible people.

Mercedes dealer inspected the car.found the rear sub-frame severely rusted at welds.he advised this was an unsafe condition and needed to be repaired soon.service writer said this was an unsafe condition. One of the welds is almost completely failing.there is an actual safety hazard if the subframe fails completely.this condition has been occurring over a period of years.there is no recall on this type of problem.it has been well reported on many internet sites.

Mercedes benz knows that their car door paneling has a defective problem and will fall off. They are ignoring my concern and refuse to pay for it. I last week i called 800-367-6372 and spoke with a live mb representative via the phone regarding case number: 2-2940129122. Today, 12/30/2019, customer advocate manager, darrell with no last name called me from phone 800-367-6372 ext 4632 and advised that he could not assist. Executive referral manager: service manager case number: 2-2940129122 phone: 800-367-6372 ext 4632 i am very concerned as both of the doors on my coupe are having the trim to come off of the car. This is a known defect with the car door panel clips. Darrel admitted that he is aware of the issue, but lacked the authority do anything about the issue. I realize that the car is no longer under warranty, but this is horrible. I have seen two other cars at my dealership with the same trouble and getting their panels repaired. I spoke with the rbm of alpharetta manager, craig and the service representative tobias and they advised that the repair would be around $1,020 per door. (each door has two pieces of trim - 207-720-22-22-2a02 for the larger trim at the cost of $350.45 and the same for the labor. Then the smaller piece of trim under part number 207-720-20-22-64-2a04 at the cost of $135.15 an d the labor would be an additional $135.15. So the passender door would cost $971.20 plus tax or $1039.18 for each door. For the total repair for the trim on both doors equaling $2,078.36. We have purchased and currently own and maintained two mercedes benz. On 12/30/2019 i received a call from the mercedes benz customer advovate representative darrell (no last name) and he advised that he is aware of other cars with this same trouble. Darrell advised that he can be reached at phone 800-367-6372 extension: 4632
Sporadically the car goes into park while the vehicle is in motion. This happens with a sudden jerk and is dangerous to the occupant and also to other vehicles as it comes to a sudden halt in the middle of the road. This is definitely a safety issue and can even be fatal/or cause serious injuries to the occupants of the vehicle and to the occupants of other vehicles.at other times it will keep shifting to park when the driver puts it into reverse or drive when stationary.took it to the dealership and they say their diagnostics does not show a problem. When we called mercedes they say that if the dealer cannot see the problem there is no problem. We have finally been able to make a video recording but unfortunately the file is too large to attachdue to the potential dangerous outcome we request that the higher level mercedes engineers look into and in the meantime the vehicle should be recalled
Whiledriving on road at about 40 miles , it went into park after some jurking motionaround june 13 2018around 1 pm . We thought it was nothing serious, but again it happened on june 21 2018 at about 6 30 pm on city road with speed limit of 40 miles ,,,called mercedes benz dealer to report the issue and made the appointment, ..they could not find the problem or duplicate the issue for more than a week.i gave them ali the information i received from internet (see attachment), and finally they are telling me the issue is with electronic switch module , which will cost about $ 1500 plus tax .to us it is a serioussafety issue and should have been reported earlier by other drivers too , and should be fixed with out charge. 4 pm to 7 pm coming from work is always a heavy traffic issue ,it could have been worse , had it been hit by other vehicles.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz 350e. He stated that on the left side of the steering column there are 2 options, one for the cruise control and one for the turn signal; however, when attempting to activate the turn signals, the cruise control activated. The turn signal and the cruise control buttons are too close together. The dealer stated that they have not received any complaints and that all of the 2010 mercedes-benz were designed that way. The incorrect option was activated on two occasions. The failure mileage was 300 and the current mileage was 1200. Updated 11/03/09 updated 11/04/09
I was driving my 2010 mercedes e350 sedan at highway speeds, when out of nowhere the sunroof just shatters into pieces. There was no large object that came towards me. I had my screen pulled over, so thankfully most of the glass didn't come in the car. I pulled over to see what happened and called the toll road authority. They summoned an officer to help me. The officer searched the area of the freeway for any object that could have caused this, and found nothing. At closer inspection he and i noticed that glass bowed outward and no major body damage behind the sunroof indicated that no object caused this. I then went to the dealership and told them about this spontaneous shattering only to be told that it's impossible for something like this to happen on its own. I was told perhaps it's a 'pebble' and they would give me a quote to fix this with them. I am convinced that this shattered...in fact exploded (that's how it sounded) by itself and was a defective glass. Please look into this as i am relieved i didn't have my toddler in the back seat with the sunroof screen open for more light, only for it to have shattered and been all over him because of the wind direction!
We brought this vehicle from 3rd party. Transmission gear sound is coming so hard. I have very low mileage only 48k. I wen to delar, he told me to change the transmission or contact head office to resolve this issue. I need someone to help me for next step.
'pre-safe inoperable' - command control systembefore moved to az, mercedes dealership in wilkes-barre, pa kept our car for a couple days after reporting problems with radio, navigation, control system and charged us for a supposedly fixed problems.we shipped the car soon after, it didn't take long until it started giving us problems again. It doesn't matter if the car was stationary or moving, the screen will just shuts off and message on the dash board ' pre-safe inoperable' will never go away. It's been sitting in the garage since because we are concern of our safety.
When accelerating hard, the car looses all power and goes into 'limp mode'. This is a extremely dangerous position to be in. If you're on the highway with a cement wall right next to you and everyone is going well over 80 and you loose all power, you're a sitting duck. There is no way to make it across 4-6 lanes to pull over, turn off the car and wait 20 seconds to reset and start again. I have seen many complaints on forums and mercedes is denying the issue. It's a well known issue and needs to be recalled and fixed. This issue has been going on for 4 years now and no help from mercedes. This has happened numerous times with the first time happening in 2015.
I was pulling into a parking spot at my health club.as i was about to stop, my vehicle suddenly and violently accelerated going into the curb, up a dirt berm and over some very large boulders.i never made it over the berm because the car got lodged onto of a large rock.when it was over, it took a couple of seconds, i know that my foot was pushing hard on my brake. However, i doubt that would have stopped the car.i will report this to mercedes benz, have it checked, but i am not optimistic they will find anything wrong.
