Adaptive high beam was not working - upon initial activation of the high beam the car would provide an error that the camera was blocked and it would not work. The dealer investigated and it appears a piece of trim from installation when new was left in the camera and it was not installed properly. This is an issue if you suddenly needed the high beams on and the car makes you process the error first. This could impact any driver aids using the multifunction camera.

The car caught on fire after it being in service at the dealership. The car was sent to the car dealership 3 times because the auto start was not working properly. Passenger is ok did not get hurt but it was a very traumatizing experience. The car is now a total loss and i'm still waiting on the dealership to investigate the fire and to pay for the car.

It appears according to the technician that the entire fuel system has shorted out at once while i was driving down the road and my car died at once while nearly causing a wreck while losing all power steering and control.

The motorized trunk lid spontaneously and forcefully closed on my head, cutting my face, while i was loading (with both hands) groceries into the trunk. Car was parked in parking lot, engine off.

On sept. 10, 2020 while driving on the westbound long island expressway, near exit 19,in an afternoon rainstorm, my 3 year old mb e300 was flooded through the rear view mirror mount and the column on the drivers' side, separatingthe windshield and door.water cascaded from these areas and flooded the floor. All electronic components on the floor, under the front seats, were shorted out.this brought the car to a complete and sudden standstill in traffic on the highway.the engine continued to run but the car would not drive or move, potentially putting my life in jeopardy.the shift lever would not put the car into drive, reverse or neutral.the car needed a tow on a dolly off the highway and it continued to run for hours. The windshield wipers would notturn off and the windows could not be shut.just about every warning light in existence was on in the dashboard.the engine was finally shut down, after over 4 hours, when the car arrived at rallye mercedes benz in roslyn, ny. This sudden stop, in a running car, on a limited access highway could of been deadly.the car had recently been serviced at rallye motors.

I purchased this vehicle in january 2020. At first, the fuel filler door would not stay closed once i opened it to pump gas. Every time i would close it, it would pop back open. I would have to close it about 10 times before it would stay closed. Then, i went to pump gas and the fuel filler door would not open although the vehicle was unlocked. People expect better quality from such an expensive brand. Mercedes benz needs to address this widespread issue with the fuel filler door.

After about 1-2 mikes of driving my 2017 mb e300 started jerking and engine light came on when i drove toward the first lane for a left turn on a busy highway intersection. I also found the gear was changed to neutral. I tried to change the gear to drive while waiting for the traffic light but i couldn't. I stopped the engine to restart but couldn't restart at all. I pressed the mb roadside assistance button. They said a tow truck would be there within 20 mins. In the meantime someone helped push the car to move it to the side but the gear didn't stay on neutral. It kept going back to park. Then it didn't go to neutral anymore. I got stuck in the middle of the road.there was nothing else i could do but patiently waited for towing with my little kid inside the car with an emergency light on and 4 windows open. The car was heated up with the outside temp of over 90f. My kid was getting exhausted and drowsy due to a high temp of 110f inside the car. I pressed the assistance button again after waiting almost 40 mins and explained about an urgent situation. They said they were still searching for a provider and would text me eta of a tow truck once they located it. Couldn't believe what they said. My kid was almost passing out from the heatstroke. I stared looking for other ways to tow my car when i finally got a text from the roadside service saying a truck would be there in 50 mins. Omg! then a lady stopped her car next to me. She gave us water, let me move my kid into her car with cool air, called her aaa, and let me use the service. Aaa showed up in 15 mins and towed my car to the mb dealership. I was more disappointed with mb roadside service than the car breakdown. What's the purpose of the button? why did they install the useless button in the car? if it wasn't there i woundn't press it and waste almost 1 1/2 hrs on the street! my kid could have died in the car!

The vehicle has a known safety defect which has been referred to both the president of mercedes benz usa and the chairman of daimler ag (parent of mercedes benz usa) in germany.mb usa has stated that the problem is a third party software error and has refused to accept responsibility for the product.it appears to be a cover-up not dissimilar to the vw issue where management is actively avoiding addressing the problem and won't put its acknowledgement in writing or advise the owners of the vehicle of the issue and its potential life threatening impact.in sum, the gps system in the $60,000+ is not accurate and may give substantially false information, causing a driver to go to places/areas which may be dangerous.the most egregious aspect is that mb thinks it is smarter than everyone, including the regulatory agencies, and are purposefully ignoring the public's safety. This happens when the vehicle is in motion. Multiple photos have been sent to mb and the mb engineers verified the safety problem.although i have indicated below the septemberdate of the first letter to the president of mbusa, the issue was noticed by mein july 2017, reported to the local dealer in august, confirmed subsequently and is on going.

Strong smell of petrol in the mornings, seems to be under the hood. I inspectedthe fuel lines from the fuel tank to the engine underneath and could not find anydrips or wetness. Did some research online. There was a recall on other models for this problem. I called mercedes customer service butthere is not a recall for this on the2017 mercedes e300

Low pressure fuel line needed replacing. This was due to a fuel smell in the cabin when cold. Mercedes indicated fuel lines are considered wear and tear and even though it was leaking , was not covered under pre owned warranty or recall. The fuel line appears cracked due to misinstallation vs rubber cracking due to age as one side was pristine and the other had a crack in it. This is noticeable at idle , when the car is cold and the heat is blowing.

Strong persistent odor of gasoline in the cabin on cold start

It appears according to the technician that the entire fuel system has shorted out at once while i was driving down the road and my car died at once while nearly causing a wreck while losing all power steering and control.

The brake pedal is too close to the center console.the space for my foot on the gas pedal is only about 1/4-inch wider than my foot.so, in an emergency situation, when trying to lift my foot off the gas pedal to apply the brakes, my foot became entangled with the brake pedal.by the time i finally got my foot on top of the gas pedal, it was almost too late.i almost crashed.

This sunday, my brother in law was driving the car and i was sitting i. Passenger seat and my 5 year old niece in the backseat. Suddenly, there was a loud pop sound and after few seconds the glass started falling in the car from above, we found out that the sunroof glass shattered for no reason, nothing hit the car, no potholes, nothing at all. My bro in law did get hurt on on arm as a small piece of glass hit him.immediately i called mercedes benz roadside assistance and told them to pick my car from my bro in laws house once we reached. Next day no response from mercedes benz and after 3 days (today is wednesday) the dealership 'texts' (still no calls) saying that i will have to pay $2126, the thing is i don't mind paying since i have insurance but what about the safety features, when i told that service guy about it, he said they can't do anything about it. I even told me about complaining it to you guys but still nothing. It's mercedes benz of foothill blvd, irvine, ca. Apart from that, i looked up online and i saw few people who have same issues as me (sunroof shattering/breaking mercedes benz).

The drivers exterior left side rearview mirror is overly too large and is mounted approximately 2" to 2.5" too high .combined with the co-located body roof support beam being very large the driver is therefore greatly impacted by the combined reduction in visability in that arc of vision while turning left.i've leased in succession 11 m/b sedansand have never been faced with this problem.i'm 5'8", athletic, well aware of ergonomics, i'm a pe - safety engineer and really annoyed and concerned with this big blind spot area.i've found that for the first time in my driving life i've had to be very careful when turning left particularly in very congested traffic situations due to the large reduction in visibility in thatarea.problem starts immediately from a parked or stopped situation, like at a traffic light to then initially start movingparticularly when implementing a left hand turn.vehicle leased on 07/31/2017.problem has been constant since then.

In our mercedes the hvac system has a defect where it doesn't properly ventilate & grows mold that smells up the car. There has been a class action lawsuit about this exact problem and in the lawsuit they state that no amount of repairs can fix it. We have taken our car to the mercedes dealership countless times, they said they fixed it. We were sent home with a car that had something sprayed in the vents & smelled horrible & gave me a horrible headache the whole drive home. Then the mold smell came back a few days later any way. For almost a full year they have been avoiding us, the car is a lease & we just want a car that actually works properly & doesn't cause health problems with the moldy smell. They won't take the car back and trade it in for something that doesn't have all of these problems. We have had to take it in for multiple repairs and they even replaced the full engine because of some system failure it had. They won't call us back when they say will, we have spoken to managers, we even had corporate involved trying to get them to call us back & they even gave us a $2,000 credit for the troubles but it doesn't matter because mercedes benz of plano won't take it back.

The sunroof for my 2017 mercedes e300 just spontaneously shattered while driving. I was driving straight ahead around 50 mph on a highway on a rainy day, with no one immediately in front of me when i hear a loud noise that startled me. I didn't know what had happened until i heard wind noise from outside and realized the sunroof had shattered. Once i was able to safely pull over, i realized that the there was a huge hole in my sunroof and it seemed to have originate from inside, as the glass was pushed outward. With no cars in front of me, driving on a stretch of highway with no overpass, i suspect that the glass or car had a defect and shattered on its own. It was a scary incident that could have been much worse. Fortunately, no one was injured. The cause for the incident is unknown since there were no rocks or other foreign object that was near that could have specifically hit the sunroof with doing no other damage to the vehicle.

My 2017 mercedes benz e300 car seems to have severe tire rim breaking issue. So far i have had to replace 2 rim's on this car and 3 tires. I use this car for commute to work and drive on highways in ct which are in pretty good condition. So this car is not going over on potholes or like. Hence i am very worried about the safety of the rims on this car. The staff at the dealership reported that they have seen other cars of the same model come for rim replacements much more frequently than other models. I have called mercedes and complained about this and have received no response.
