Takata recall-- i contacted mercedes benz customer assistance and although there were 15 deaths associated with this recall, their representative verbally indicated to me that the vehicle is safe to drive, she promised a written letter stating that but i have not received it. She also indicated that all parts for the 2 recalls won't be available until september 2019. In the meantime they have no policy to provide a car rental stipend or a car loaner. Other manufacturers with cars with similar problems offered such remedies in turn for a signed document that says you would not drive your vehicle until the part is available. My significant other had use of a loaner from nissan for 3 months!please let me know what can be done to have mercedes provide financial support with a car rental or loaner so i do not have to drive a car that is viewed as unsafe.

Takata recallon february 26, 2018, i received a recall letter from mercedes benz usa ("mercedes") with respect to a defect on the "takata" airbags, noting that "a passenger-side inflation explosion during deployment could result in sharp metal fragments striking the front passenger or other occupants, possibly causing injury or death."the letter also notes that replacement parts are not yet available for my vehicle.i called mercedesto better understand why, if i am driving a car that is deemed to be unsafe and per the above, could cause injury or death, a replacement part is not available.i was told that mercedes sent the letter with the verbiage as it appeared from takata, that many other manufacturers were impacted by this recall, and that mercedes was "low on the list" for replacements. I do not understand how or why i should be expected to continue to drive a car with my family in it that is deemed to be unsafe.i further do not understand why mercedes is not taking any action to rectify this situation.mercedes determined that both they and you (as the regulator) determined that the car is in fact safe, yet the letter i was provided states otherwise.please explain how this is possible.

Takata recalli want to go on record how disappointed i am that parts are not yet available for such a dangerous recall. Stating 'airbag explosion causing sharp metal fragments striking the occupants causing serious injury or death' is extremely serious and dangerous.other options should be made available immediately.i intend to talk with my mercedes dealer as well. This may put undue burden on the dealers as well. Newer vehicles should be made available to customers if this is not resolved. There is a high risk factor and increased apprehension every time i drive the vehicle.

I'm pretty concerned about the problems not fixed in time because they could cause serious injuries to me and my family. I hope to get the recalls fixed as soon as possible.

We received a recall notice regarding the passenger-side airbag in february, 2018. The notice stated that a suitable replacement would be made and we would be notified when it was available. It's been almost a year now and we still have not received notification.

I received a recall inovember 2017 and am unable to get mb to make an appointment to fix an insufficient grounding component in the steering wheelwhich maycauses an electrostatic discharge which deploys the takata airbag with resultant accident occurrence. I am in fear when driving.mb has not responded to my request.they have not provided me with a safe car; they have ignored requests; they have given no answer to my letter and phone calls to ceo exler in atlanta or any personin manhattan main office.they have devalued the worth of my car if i tried to sell it.they have ripped off the system, while spending millions on marketing.cars theyproduced for 2018 were sold with recalls.there are millions on the road from 2012 through 2018 that i have found so far from government published lists of recalledmercedes benz models.when will i learn there are accidents already caused bythese recall failures? millions will be spent for hush money to the media, but nomoney for recall correction.i have serviced my car per manual direction, and prior torecall had extended my warranty by two years to the tune of $2800+++will you answer this complaint?should all of us so affected hold our breaths?

Passenger airbags enabled then disabled just randomlywhile driving with an adult passenger sitting with the seat belt clicked in the front passenger seat. A airbag light come on indicating that the passenger air bag is off then after few miles suddenly a massage in the dashboardsaying "airbag now enabled please see driver manual"i took the car to mb service, they couldn't find any code for problems. They ask me to videotape the messages and the lights when come on. I just did today.will see what they will do with it. It's sound really dangerous to drive with passenger with his airbag disabled.happen to me 5-6 times , the car has 4000 mile only !!

Takata recall: local mercedes dealer in naperville il is unable to promptly replace the problematic air bag, giving possible replacement date of some time in 2020! we are concerned that our family will be in potential danger for another 2 years, we carry a child in our car! please force mercedes to promptly replace the air bag. Thanks.

I went to an authorized mb dealer and they did the recall for the steering column but not for the air bags.i also believe a recall should be made due to the fact that oil has siphoned its way up the cam magnets and solenoids thru the engine wiring harness to the main fuel computer and has caused the engine to be out of timing.according to your authorized dealership's tech this could cause the engine to seize.according to research this is a known defect with recalls for other engines but is still happening on numerous mercedes benz vehicles.

I have c 300 2013 mercedes which broke more than 3 times ( all within a year, this is a new car) with the same problem. This issue is potentially deadly to a driver. Acceleration diminished, breaks are not fully functioning, wind shield wiper don't work, signal does not work. I requested to get a new vehicle, but my request was denied. My understanding that mercedes does not care about my safety (or any other person who has this car) at all.i think this should be investigated further. May be they are hiding something about this electric problem. This should be investigated and possibly recall has to be done.

Rear fog light not workingtold there is only a rear drivers side fog light?concerned w the past trunk fire issues w lights.

Thought battery was dead, but had the battery was tested by aaa and said it was fine. Key fob turns and nothing happens.car doesn't start, nothing happens.

The electronic steering lock failed while in the parked position. A tiny motor inside has burned up and it now prevents you from starting the vehicle. The dealership will not sell me a replacement to repair on my own and i must take it in to them for repair at a cost of over $1800.00.this is a very common defect failure in this series of 2008 to 2014 mercedes benz. I have a 2005 mercedes which does not have this problem with the unit and is operating correctly after 15 years.

Vehicle completely shut down while traveling on interstate. Ignition switch malfunction and went dead, also steering column locked causing me to lose control of steering functions.

Lamp carrier, plug and contact bushi are burnt because the ground wire is too thin. The previous models of this car had a recall where they fixed the issue but it still pertains to the 2013 model and is not under recall. Part # 204-820-22-77# 211-545-03-28# 013-545-76-26these were the part numbers that are recommended to be replaced by the dealer. This is a serious fire safety issue. Please update your records that latest w204 mercedes model still has this problem and needs to be recalled.

My mercedes benz c-300 4matic got rain water on the inside of the car and damaged the electrical. The car was parked on the street and all the windows was up.the drivers and passenger side of the car in the front under the dashboard was soaking wet from rain water. I do not know how the water got inside of the car. I was driving it after a rain storm and all the dash lights came on all the needle hands went down to zero, it was like the car was trying to restarting itself whilei was driving. The car is now at mercedes benz novi michigan now. I still owe money on this car i am so disappointed with mercedes benz. I read somewhere about a class action lawsuit regarding water coming inside of the mercedes.

While making a right turn into a parkinglot at low speed accelerator pedal not depressed the vehicle suddenly accelerated. When brakes were depressed they failed and did not stop nor slow the vehicle. Car crashed into the building. Air bags additionally did not deploy as car hit building in corner at center of front. Minor injury to driver from seat belt restraint.

On 09-12-16 i was involved in a rear end collision (35+ mph). I was stopped in traffic (interstate highway). My vehicle was in eco mode and the vehicle's brake hold feature was activated, the brake was fully engaged/pressed, and hold was displayed on the forward instrument cluster. While stopped, another vehicle struck my vehicle from the rear. My vehicle's neck-pro retraint system activated and the hazards activated. No air bags were deployed. However, a few seconds after the accident, the brake hold feature deactivated and my vehicle began to roll into rush hour traffic. After actively pumping the brakes, to no avail, i initiated an offensive maneuver and swerved the vehicle off of the highway and onto unpaved side road/shoulder. My vehicle continued to roll forward and only stopped after i fully pressed/engaged the emergency brake. Is deactivating brake hold in a rear end collision a design flaw, or is this the intended function?

This is regarding recall number nhtsa 17v627 and manufacturer # 2017100005.summary of recall:daimler ag (dag), the manufacturer of mercedes-benz vehicles, has determined that on certain b-class electric, c-class, e-class and cla, gla, glc, glk-class vehicles (242, 204, 205, 207, 212, 117, 156, 253 platform) an electrostatic discharge, when combined with a broken steering column module clock spring and an insufficient grounding of the steering components, could lead to an inadvertent deployment of the driver airbag. A broken steering column module clock spring activates a driver airbag warning message in the instrument cluster, as well as the red airbag warning lamp. An inadvertent driver airbag deployment may cause a risk of injury to the driver and might increase the risk of a potential crash.i contacted an authorized mercedes-benz dealer and was told the part to fix the recall issue is not yet available.i find this unacceptable given it could "cause a risk of injury to the driver and might increase the risk of a potential crash".what recourse do i have regarding this and to ensure my vehicle is repaired & safe in a more timely manner?it has now been over 5 months since the recall was issued!

The welds of the exhaust pipes to the muffler broke causing the muffler to slip of the pipes. This vehicle has been taken care of all schedule maintenance perform and driven only under normal driving conditions.

Driving home on northbound i-5 in seattle. Very loud noise like a small explosion. The front part of the panoramic sunroof exploded! there were no over passes or cars nearby. No other apparent damage anywhere. Outside/exterior sunroof looked fine (see photos). It was raining at the time. The sunroof, although shattered, did remain intact, however started leaking. This appears to be a very common problem (do any type of internet search on panoramic sunroof exploding). Please investigate.
