Takata recall
'takata recallthere was a recall on my car for airbags since february,2016 ever since i have t heard from anyone on behalf i called dealers they said parts are not available. I believe this it's very inresposible in your behalf. It clearly said in case of a accident seriously injuries can occur due to this so can you someone give me an answer on this.
Takata recall.
Takata inflatorsthe first recall was february 2016 for the driver side airbag a reasonable amount of time is past the parts were promised in september 2018 and no delivery. Now a new recall of january 2019 for the passenger side airbag inflator has been issued i'm told by mercedes-benz usa that the parts will be available september 2019 . This is an unreasonable amount of time given the three years of the previous recall not being remedied. Also i'm told by the dealership that the motor mounts are collapsedi can't help but think that this is a defect also subject to recall.

1. Takata recall: this recall of a dangerous situation has been going on for about two years now is unacceptable and hazardous to em and my family. 2. Law suit: greg suddreth and paul denton v. Mercedes-benz usa, llc. On 10/30/17, i had to pay 3445.13 for a repair my balance shafts gears, which we're deemed defective in all m272 engines which is in my c300. However, in the above mentioned law suit, this problem was supposed to have been corrected. When i brought this to the attention to the mercedes-benz of modesto technicians, they said i missed the cut-off date by one year. They acknowledged i had the same problem and checked to see if i qualified for a free repair, but later claimed, the issue with the defective balance shafts gears had been addressed. How can that be when i incurred the same problem. The repair should have been repaired under warranty. I eventually had to have the car repaired at mercedes of pleasanton because modesto didn't have any open appointments. Thank you for your attention in this matter.3. Faulty electronic stearing lock: engine won't turn on and steearing wheel is locked. Several people have had this same problem. Mercedes claim not a safety issue, but when your daughter gets stuck at midnight at an amusement park on high school senior night...that's a safety issue. Thank you for your attention in this matter.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz c300w. The contact stated that nhtsa campaign numbers: 16v081000 and 16v363000 (air bags) exceeded a reasonable amount of time for repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
I am at my wits end and i don't know what to do to get someone to care. It has been 2 1/2 years since getting my initial recall letter and they still do not have the parts to remedy the situation. Its a huge deal too. The safety warning says thst the driver side air bag can deploy and projectile metal fragments causing severe bodily injury or death to everyone in the car. I originally thought it was the passenger air bag so i have not let anyone sit up front in a long time thinking that would keep us safer but now that i know it's the driver side airbag i can't even do anything to try to help myself until the dealerships decides we matter. For real. Someone is going to die unfortunately and it will be the fault of the manufacturer. I am appalled. I waited 20 years to buy my car. I saved a percentage of my tips and other income from college and when i had enough, i bought my car outright. I wanted this car more than anything being i had very little growing up so this is especially disappointing. I need a remedy to this. 2 1/2 years is unacceptable. Period.
I am trying to get help replacing the takata air bag, i have called mercedes-benz usa and the local dealership and both said drive safely!! i would like to sell the car but am unable to sell it with the recall.
Takata air bag recall
Upon finding out that this vehicle has two open airbag recalls, and the nhtsa website saying parts where available, i contacted the dealer for assistance in replacing the airbags. The dealer said that the airbags were on backorder from the manufacture with no timeline for potential replacement. Per instructions on the nhtsa website i am filling out this form to let the nhtsa know the manufacture has failed / is unable to remedy this dangerous safety recall in a timely manner
Takata recall - recalls were issued for the driver's and passenger's airbags in feb 2016 and may 2016, respectively. To date, no solution has been offered, therefore, i am still driving with defective airbags and am vulnerable to suffering the harm and/or loss.

Have received communications from mercedes benz, beginning may 2016, stating problem with air bags which could cause injury and even death. Have called mercedes benz u.s.a. Several times as well a local dealer and answer continues to be "parts are not available yet". Should i discontinue use of this vehicle based on their warning of injury and even death?

The contact was at a stop and a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed over 50 mph, crashed into the rear of the vehicle. A dealer was not contacted to inspect and diagnose why the air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. Takata recall--my 2011 mercedes benz c300 had recalls for driver and also passenger airbags on 2/11/16 and 5/23/16 respectively.currently there are no replacement airbags available. Thank goodness, my vehicle has not been involved in an accident that deployed the airbags.but, i don't feel safe in the vehicle as the deployment of the airbags could cause death or serious injury for the driver and/ or the passenger.as my car is now 6 1/2 yrs of age, i decided to trade it in on a new vehicle.i was given very bad news that because there was no fix for the airbags, i would get a very low offer for my trade in.in fact, the dealership really didn't want my car as a trade at all!!
"takata recall" i contact a mercedez benz dealer many times in order to have the drivers sideair bag replace and they always respond that the part is not yet available and that they do not know when is going to be available. I'm really concern that in case of an accident i can be injury by the defective airbag installed in my vehicle. Please let me know how to proceed to have this defective airbag replace as soon possible.
Takata recall. In may 2016, i received a notice from mercedes benz that my car is affected by the recall. I have written and called mercedes benz usa and my dealer a number of times since then and they tell me that they do not have the replacement air bags yet. They say they are waiting on nhtsa to get manufacturers to get the replacements made and out to the auto dealers. Now that takata filed bankruptcy, manufacturing the airbags has become more of a problem. It is hard to understand how a problem with the airbags started in 2013, expanded greatly in 2014/2015, and the consumer is still not able to get the recalled airbags replaced. Corporations must be held responsible. I see a lot of documents about this, but it seems like very little is getting done to get the airbags replaced in a timely manner. When can my family expect to get the replacement airbags installed and be safe riding in our car?
I was in accident on 8/15/16 side impact i want to know why the side airbags didn"t deploy, the car was totaled by the insurance company. I was driving on a the city street the young man thought he had the right of way to turn left with incoming traffic and he struck my car from the side.

Takata recall - i keep calling the local mercedes benz of alexandria and mercedes benz usa, for over 1 year and a half, they keep telling me that parts are available to replace the existing driver and passengers air bags. It is almost 2 years with the recall and still no parts available to correct the recall. I am not comfortable driving the vehicle fearing getting injured do to a malfunction. It is unfair to put drivers and passengers in such a great risk and fear. Also, i have another 2012 glk mercedes benz i am unable to sell since the recall was issued, as purchasers turn away when they learn of the recall. I am already at a loss about $4,000, in car depreciation sitting in my driveway unable to sell do to the recall.

My complaint #11053646; i have tried e-mailing nhtsa and your e-mail does not work. When i checked the replacement schedule for my car it looked like mine should be done first based on the year of vehicle. After i filed a complaint i received notice it would get done by 3/31/18 then just received another one now says 6/30/18. It seems mercedes is taking their good old time when i've heard other car manufacturers immediately took care of this problem. I can't sell my car and am afraid of getting in an accident with the existing airbags. They just dont care.

There has been a recall on my airbags for 2 years. This is too long to wait for a solution to be done when i am being told that these airbags if deployed can kill me or my passengers (which are my children) i have been waiting for a remedy but just keep getting told that there is one coming. 2 years is long enough to figure it out. The safety of my children is not something to mess with! please make them fix this problem or buy the dang car back! there is also a problem with the tail light sensor and light itself, it keeps saying to check it and it dims but it's not in need of replacement.

Takata recall.mercedes benz has now changed the "priority group" of the recall on my air bags from a "3" to a "4", and most recently a "5."and the expected date of when "replacement parts [are] expecte to be available" has changed multiple times, each time extending that date; the last letter i received says "by june 30, 2018."the letter i received just last month says "before march 31, 2018."i am in florida.everything i read says florida should be in a high priority group due to humidity.what is really going on?what sanctions have been imposed on manufacturers who are replacing airbags only on the vehicles they are trying to sell, as this is what the mercedes dealership in jacksonville, fl is doing?

Takata airbag recall - the recall letter that i received january 31, 2018 states that the part to repair the car will not be available until september 2018 for the driver side air bag and september 2019 for the passenger side air bag.i don't want my wife driving this car until the fix/repair is done.two years is a long time to wait for parts.we want a loaner vehicle provided by the manufacturer.
Takata recall. Until now, this has not been fixed. It has been three years since the first recall came out. In my opinion, that is way too long to get this taken care of. Nothing has happened yet to my vehicle, but i think it has been way too long that nothing has been done to replace these. Mfg. Recall n0.2018030009 and 2018030011
Takata recall:the fact that there hasn't been a remedy to this issue is terrible.i watched the video of what will happen if this airbag is deployed. I'm supposed to be ok with this while driving my vehicle everyday knowing that if there is any collison of any sort myself and my children and grandchildren are at risk of injury or death not from the collison but from the safety device that is supposed to protect us.
These are known to kill passengers yet no one is doing anything about the car manufacturers taking their good old time replacing them. They should not be allowed to continue selling cars until they have fix the ones they sold that have defects and recalls. What are they waiting for a payout from the takata lawsuit? why is no one doing anything.
Takata recallmercedes still has not made any actual repairs on the vehicles.i have been told every month since the initial recall that they are waiting on parts.this is ridiculous!mercedes has no intention of replacing these airbags, do they?i live and drive in florida.mercedes will not provide a loaner vehicle despite numerous requests.when are you going to make the manufacturers live up to their responsibility.a fake recall is a fake recall.please stop letting them pull the wool over your eyes.

Takata recall. I purchased this car for my teenage son on 3/13/18. I spent considerable time shopping for a vehicle in our price range that did not have the open takata recall.at that time, the nhtsa website, mercedes customer service and carfax all showed that this car was good - no open recalls.now i come to find out that both passenger and driver bags/inflators are on recall, effective 6/1/16 and 2/9/16, respectively. I am extremely upset and concerned, as i do not want my son driving an unsafe vehicle. How is it possible that the recalls were "not there" in march?please help. Thanks.

I received notification of a defective passenger side airbag in may 2016. I have received two subsequent letters dated december 2017 and just today february 14, 2019 stating the problem and that the company ( mercedes benz usa ) through their parent company daimler ag was taking all necessary measures to remedy this situation. We were also told that they were working closely with the national highway traffic safety administration and airbag suppliers to provide a remedy as soon as possible, and to prioritize repairs according to risk factors identified through testing. We have been told once again that replacement parts are not yet available, but wewill be contacted once parts become available. It has been 2 1/2 years and still no remedy. We are driving around with a bomb waiting to go off in the front seat of our vehicle. When is enough enough? are we waiting for someone to be injured or killed. I purchasedmercedes benz vehicle because i was lead to believe they were one of the seven safest cars on the road. I do not have a warm and fuzzy feeling about owning my mercedes when the parent company cannot remedy a situation that puts my family and i at risk. I would have expected more from mercedes benz. Going forward i do not want more empty promises. Fix this problem once and for all so you might restore some confidence in your name again.

Takata recall on airbags.i have reached out to the local mercedes benz dealer bentonville ar 72712but dealer says they can only call when they get the parts to replace. They have not called me almost for last 12 months. I don't know what to do next. Please advise.the car is not replaced with the new air bags. It still running on the original defaulted airbags.
"takata recall"we started getting airbag recall notices 4 years ago.we have called the dealer every 6 months and they always say "takata has not sent us parts"this is totally unacceptable for a life critical part such as an airbag that can explode.nothing but excuses.every time we drive this vehicle we are worried about the airbags.this is the 4th mb we have owned and its likely the last due to the way this recall has been handled.

Takata recall - why has the nhtsa granted an extension to priority group 4 vehicles?mbusa has made very little effort to address the airbag recall and having the nhtsa allow them to continue to drag their feet is unacceptable.
Takara recalli have been calling the mercedes benz dealer every few months since i got the recall notice on my car. Each time they tell me that it will be 1 or 2 months before the parts are available to fix the car. This scenario has been going on for the past 2 years or more. I cannot seem to get my car fixed. The last time i called they told me i didn't need to call every few months that they would send me a letter when the parts were available. I realized that they have a lot of cars to fix but i do not want to continue driving my car knowing that if someone runs into me i could be killed because of a faulty airbag. How do i get my car fixed?anything you could do to help me would be very much appreciated my dealer is in lakeland florida it is fields motor car. Their phone number is 863 688-8111.
Takata recall....i am concerned about the fact that my car is one of those under this recall and i have had for more than a year an alert on my display when starting the car indicating "srs malfunction service required". I took the car back to mercedes once who told me it was a dummy light and was cleared. Several days later it came back on and my calls to the shop were not returned. I then learned of this recall and when finally reaching someone was told it may be related and that i will receive instructions when a repair was found. It's been at least a year and every day i start my vehicle i am reminded that i or any passengers in my car could be at risk in the event of an accident. I bought this car because the reviews were astounding about the safety features. Yet here i have a vehicle that i don't dare have passengers in. I basically use the car for work and only work. It's the quivelant of having a one seated car. This problem needs to be corrected asap. I have a grandson coming in may and would like to know that i am able to pick him and/or my daughter up and know that i can safely get them to doctors appointments and for visits.

"takata recall"recent change in pa law made me aware of recall problems others reported. I checked my vehicle and found 2 unresolved recalls, one dated 2016 and one dated 2019. I intend to complain to the dealer i purchased the car from and i wondered if nhtsa was doing anything to pressure the dealer to resolve their 3 year neglect of my unsafe air bags. Is it normal that a recall is ignored by the manufacturer for 3 years? can you help?
I have a error message on my car about my airbag also i have called about recall on them several times and they keep telling me when they get all the recalls and parts in they will do a massive repair this has been going on for 1last 18 months
Takata safety recall - high death riskthis recall began in february 2016, almost two years ago, and to date there has been no resolution.i have received numerous letters, regarding availability of replacement parts, and each letter pushes my priority group lower, due to the assumption that higher humidity increases the associated risks, however that can vary based on annual weather conditions, even in arizona, where we have had more rainfall and humidity this year.i do not believe for one second that they have been unable to access replacement parts for this recall for two years!mercedes is clearly stalling and trying to spread out their expense for the recall over several years, rather than taking the hit to their bottom line all at once, without concern for the safety of their consumers, this is completely unacceptable.nhtsa needs to man up and quit granting mercedes extensions to complete the necessary repairs at the potential peril of the automobile owners. Enough is enough, get the airbags replaced before someone is seriously injured or dies!i can tell you this, if anything happens to anyone in my family, as a result of these explosive airbags, we will sue mercedes and everyone that allowed this to continue to the fullest extent of the law, of that you can be sure!i will not be purchasing another mercedes again, my next vehicle will undoubtedly be a bmw, they have much better safety ratings than mercedes now!

Takata recall- its been more than 1 year since the recall and the mercedes benz dealership is still not able to replace the front and passenger airbags. I drive this car daily... My 2011 c-300 has two recalls pending for both air bags (driver and passenger). I have been complaining to mbusa for over 2 years to have them replaced. To this day 11/06/2017 mbusa had made no attempt to contact me or provide a solution.the rear seat-belts lockup on passengers and ratchet down consistently with little movement thereby requiring the passengers to unfasten their belts and ride without the seat belt being fastened. I purchased the vehicle new and both problems have been existing from the purchase date march 2011

Takata recall -- what other alternatives are available since the manufacturers are taking forever to complete this process? does anyone in america make airbags? i took my car to tysinger today and asked them to just deactivate both airbags and the guy said it was against the law, but i found a form regarding deactivation of the bags. So, what do i need to do to deactivate the bags? i feel less at risk driving this car without those bags rupturing. I shouldn't be forced to drive with those airbags and can't afford to buy another car. My husband bought this car as a surprise this year -- surprise is on me -- not happy with this situation, we should feel safe in our cars!

The air bags on my c300 mercedes 2011 did not deploy during front crash.the accident happened at a t intersection street. I was at the front lane at a t intersection stopping during red light.a volvo carfrom the other side of the intersection that was trying to make a left turn-into the street that i was stopping on-crashed into my vehicle front to front as a result of avoiding getting crashed by another car that was passingred light intoit's opposite direction. The volvo that crashed into my car front to front pushed my vehicle about 10 feet back words and caused my vehicle to crash into an suv with the rear right side of my vehicle into the rear left side of the suv that caused my car to stop. A police report was taken at the scene. I then have requested from the collision center at the mercedes dealer who handled my car, to look into the air bags to check whether there were a manufacture defect with the airbag for not deploying. Few days later, my car was reported a total loss.

Takata recall. Manufacturer has failed to replace defective safety device
My airbag warning light keeps coming on.mycomplaint involves 2 recall notices i received on the mercedes benz 300c class which has defective takata air bags on the passenger and the driver's sides that could potentially kill. Mercedes usa said it will not have airbags to replace in my car until late 2018 from nhtsa.mercedes benz's response is that no one has yet died in one of its vehicles due to takata airbags. Mercedes has directed victims of these defective airbags to the nhtsa national highway and says the bags will not be available to replace until late 2018 when nhtsa releases them. I've already waited and risked my life for more than a year, actually 4 years. Mercedes could care less. My request is that mercedes return this car for the simple fact this car is a 2011. It was widely reported in the wall street journal and other news outlets that honda and takata found out the bags were deadly and defective as far back at least as 2001, however, kept it under wraps. Mercedes knew when it made the decision to purchase these air bags and install them into latermodel vehicles, probably at drastic discounts, that the defective bags were no good and worse potentially deadly. Already people had died from these airbags. I don't want to be the first one to die in a mercedes due to these airbags. I just heard back from the national transportation safety board, who said that mercedes is misinforming consumers.it does not have airbags that will be released in 2018. I can send you the letter from mercedes declining to take the car back and from ntsb referring me to you.i want my money back.it's the biggest fleece of american consumers i have ever seen. All i have is a letter from mercedes declining to take its car back, a picture of the warning airbag light that comes on the dash board and a letter from ntsb. I can mail these to you if you need them.

Takata recalcurrently active duty military and this is my only car and getting stationed overseas but can't ship it because of the recalls that are on it for almost two freaking years!!!! seeing that some of the air bags are getting fixed but called dealerships all through out texas and everyone says it will be months if not years to get the recall fixed. Called corporate to see if they can help me out and nope still nothing. Now i am stuck leaving my car in america where ill be paying for a car thats useless because it won't be going with me since this recall is taking so long. Way to help the military out
Takata recall - i recently purchased a 2011 used mercedes benz which has two open recalls for defective air bags.i was advised by the dealership a remedy would be coming in the near future but i have been unable to verify this claim.please advise when this recall will be remedied and what my recourse is in the meantime.
My car has two recalls for the airbags which means my car can not be traded in because it's not resaleable. These recalls are not minority's and we risk serious injury or possible death because mercedes can fix the problem. Reassuraning knowing if you're ever in an accident your airbags may distinction during impact or be the reason you die. I'm stuck with this car until the remedies are available, but i'm also stuck with risking my life. I started having transmission problems with hesitating to speed up from a stop or slower speed. The dealership said it was my intake manifold flap that needed to be replaced. Of course that wasn't the problem and it's getting worse. I had it looked at again to be told nothing was wrong and no codes were displayed during the diagnostic check. Meanwhile my car gets worse by the week and my transmission feels like something is clearly wrong. For the third time i had it checked and this time had a technician ride with me. He noted the hesitating feeling while driving and validated my concerns. He said he personally believes my transmission is malfunctioning but mercedes is covering their tails. He suggested i take it to a private mechanic who specializes in mercedes unless i want to pay $9,000 to mercedes to be told a range of things need to be fixed and the problem never be solved. Absolute rip off and i'll never buy mercedes again.

The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz c300. While attempting to start the vehicle, the engine would not start and the power steering ability seized. The vehicle was towed to mercedes benz of honolulu (818 okapi omani ave, honolulu, hi) where it was diagnosed that the steering lock module was faulty and needed to be replaced. The module was replaced and the failure was remedied. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 53,000.
Repeatedly, vehicle refuses to start on first try. Insert key, steering wheel unlocks. Turn it, all lights come on. Turn to start and nothing happens. Turn switch all the way off and then try again and it starts.
My 2011 mercedes c 300 has a failed ignition lock the car stop on me in the middle of the night, i had to have a tow truck to pick it up and tow to shop $$$ and i begin to do some research there are so many cars with the same problem this need to be on the recall list and also it is very expensive to repairplease help
Left side tail light assembely melted and caught the trunk on fire. I have 10 of these c300s that are affected with the same problem. I have spoke with mercedes on this issue and they are declining to do the repair at no cost. This is a safety issue and should be covered no matter what..i have found that this is a common problem with these cars and yet there is no recalls or tsbs on this issue. Any help on this would be appreciated..
I was leaving work. I unlocked the vehicle with the key fob, placed the key fob in the ignition, and it failed to start. I was left stranded without a way to leave. I have been told my problem lies within a "faulty ignition switch" that only mb can repair. I have been told this is a common problem among the c-class models and i am hoping mb can address the issue with a recall.
"takata recall"i have a mercedes benz c300 2011 a problem occurred where you turn the key and it does not recognize and steering wheel lock.everything else worked like lights, radio, battery. I was driving one moment stopped and parked for less than 5 minutes and nothing happened. I've done some research and it looks like there's quite a few other owners having the same problem. You can check on this link http://www.carproblemzoo.com/mercedesbenz/c300/steering-failed-problems.phpi believe this should be a recall and needs to get fixed.
Steering wheel lock mechanism failure.it keeps the car from starting. My local dealer stated this is a common failure in mercedes. And that there should be a recall on these.
The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz c300. While attempting to start the vehicle, an abnormal smoke odor was present. The vehicle was towed to inskip mercedes, located at 1557 bald hill road, warwick, ri 02886, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the signal acquisition module melted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 41,282.
The car will not start, no power, no lights, no radio, no response after inserting the key. I tried both keys and same issue exists with both keys. The electrical ignition switch needs to be replaced.
My car sound like the power steering has gone it's very loud. Also secondary air flow just replaced and now it's going to need another one at 2000 a pop. Finally the electrics is very weird. Lights will go out then come back on. My day time running lights stay on day and night no matter where i turn the light switch. The day time running light is on even when i turn on high beams. No matter if it's moving or not all these things are happening.
Car parked, steering column seized. Unable to start ignition or put vehicle in gear.
The electronic steering lock mechanism on these vehicles appear to fail with alarming frequency.if the failure was to occur any distance from a dealer a motorist would be stranded, perhaps in a dangerous situation.i was lucky - the failure occurred in my home town, but the nearest dealer is 2 hours away - they are the only ones who can fix it.this situation is dangerous and the failure to address it (by mercedes benz) irresponsible.
Sun roof and lights inside the car stopped working suddenly causing complete darkness inside the car at night time.
Total failure of ignition system, drove the car parked it, went to get back in 20 minutes later would not start, tried both keys no luck. Car would not recognize either key being inserted into ignition.37 days out of factory warrantyluckily enough this complete vehicle failure happened after my wife and i just finished a road trip to virginia, if this would of happened at some rest stop, or god for bid while we were driving the vehicle, it would of been a huge safety risk.
Electronic ingition system malfunciton car want start, all lights on,radio works battery seems to be operating , took to dealer eis is the issue, cost is extreme, after reading reviews this is an ongoing issue after warranty expires. No recall has been authorrized...this is an issue mercedez benz
"takata recall" i contacted the the authorized mercedes-benz dealer has failed to remedy this safety recall in a timely manner, i have continuouslyreached out for year and half and the mercedes-benz dealer continuous to stated that the air bags are on back order.
My rear left tail lamp lights was going dimmer and now it does not work i checked wires and one looks like it's burning ...i'm not sure
We are a small family owned car lot that has been in business since 2005.we sold a 2011 mercedes c300 to a nice young couple last week.after only having it less than 24 hours, the customer called stating the vehicle will not start. Said went to start the vehicle in the morning and the steering wheel was locked and car would not start. The lights & radio turned on but it had a message on dash to remove key from ignition. We had to call a tow company to tow it to the mechanic and put them in a loaner car.later that day i started doing some research and realized many many others are having this same exact issue and it is costing them $1600-$1800 to have the esl & eis replaced.it is insane how many of the same issue have been recognized and reported yet there is no active recall on this very dangerous, expensive issue with on a car that many people can only dream about having!i will attach the link also that i found the others having the same issue. Passenger side lowbeam light burnt out approx 2 months ago, bulb replaced.five days ago passenger side lowbeam light burnt out again.parked car after about a 15 mile drive, within 30 minutes car was on fire and entire front end burnt completely.should there be a recall from mercedes for faulty wiring to headlights before someone is killed or their home destroyed if fire starts while car parked in garage?
Similar to the recall issue (and open investigation), the ground wire for the rear left tail light overheated, melting the light carrier.
Purchased this car brand new in august of 2011. Since then the car has died 3 times. The first time they thought it was the ignition. The second time, just 6 weeks ago, they could not figure out what was wrong so after 8 days, they gave the car back to me. Of course while they have it, it starts right up. What has happened is that i would get in the car and it simply would not start, won't lock or unlock and trunk would not open. Not even when i tried the key manually. It sounds electrical to me. The first time it happened, one of the mechanics told me he had not seen this problem with mb in 25 years. I am extremely unhappy and will not purchase another mb ever again.

Steering wheel lock up or eis issue. Car not stopped working all of a sudden. Lucky it was in safe place. Car interior light comes up but does not crank. It needs to be recalled. Look how many people are having the same issue https://www.cargurus.com/cars/discussion-t32359_ds565938
Car stopped suddenly in the middle of the road , lost power, stopped, all the lights went off, pulled it to the side, found out from the dealer alternator gone bad, waiting for new one for instalation at the dealer, surprising to see a alternator on mercedes gone wrong in 30000 miles
I am writing to file a complaint.the vehicle did not start after the key was put into the ignition.there were no warning lights.in addition, the vehicle did not start at all.the tow service was called.the tow repair representative indicated the problem may be the "ignition switch," as the battery was fine.the vehicle was towed to the dealership.the entire ignition switch had to be replaced.the cost was $1214.this is unacceptable.fortunately, the vehicle was in a secure place -- the home garage.however, had it been in another location, a serious safety hazard could have occurred.the vehicle only has approximately 91,000 miles, so it is inconceivable as to why an ignition switch would need to be replaced.there was no warning.this is an item that is clearly a manufacturer's defect and should be under warranty.
The rear tail light housing harness melted due to an electrical issue. This caused my rear tail light & break lights not to function.
The rings used to determine wheel speed for the stability system fail, this has happened twice to my car and can result in the brakes being applied without warning.also takata air bags have not been replaced in the three years after the recall.

I bought this car new in 2011. After a couple of months, started noticing a rotten egg odor coming from my car. The smell seems to come from underneath the car. Usually occurs when i'm going 45mph or more going up a hill on a highway. Took it to the dealer to check, so they took the car for a test drive and said they found no odors which i don't understand why? they said it might be the type of fuel i use for the car may affect it, but i use premium gas only from chevron. Mercedes really need to look into this, because the smell is horrible! i've been dealing with this smell for almost three yrs. Now.
Common fault. Brown ground wire. Left tail light. Brown wire gets really hot. On cluster shows messages that the break, turn signal, reverse fog lights are out. I check and remove the plate or lights housing. Light bulbs seems to be fine. Sometimes the tail light is completely out sometimes it flickles really low like their gonna go out. It smells like smoke and the brown ground wire gets really hot. It usually happens when im driving it for a long period of time but constantly turning it on and off to go do something like stopping at the store.
The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz c300. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v177000 (exterior lighting). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000.

2011 mercedes benz c300. Consumer writes in regards to exterior light safety recall. *ldthe consumer requested a staus report for odi numbers 10983063 and 10984235. Updated 09/06/2017
Vehicle was stationary. 1 of the 2 parking light bulbs in the front left headlamp assembly burnt out. When taken to dealer to replace the bulb, the service technician found that the bulb's harness had overheated and melted into the headlamp, requiring replacement of the entire headlamp assembly. The melted harness indicates that there was too much heat and could pose a fire threat in the headlamp, as well as reduce conspicuity due to dimmed or burnt out exterior lighting. This is very similar to the problem with the rear taillight issue in this year/model that resulted in a safety recall (nhtsa campaign number: 14v177000 tail lamp dimming or failure). The front exterior lights should also be recalled and replaced by mb for the same reasons as the rear.
The parking lights on both front head light assemblies have melted the plastic of the housing and had to be broken out which seems to indicate an excessive generation of heat and potential fire hazard when bulbs are replaced they keep burning out which is a potential safety hazard.. I have seen several other complaints regarding this same issue and as well an issue very similar to the tail light recall.i was wondering if this has been or will be addressed my the manufacturer
The rear tail light housing harness melted due to an electrical issue. This caused my rear tail light & break lights not to function.

I was driving and a strong fuel odor was experienced. When i stopped the car and looked under the undercarriage there was a puddle of fuel. There is a fuel leak coming from the bottom plastic underneath the gas tank. It may be the fuel filter as the same year and model had a recall but apparently my vehicle was not covered.

The contact noticed fuel on the ground when the vehicle was moved out of the garage. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for a diagnostic testing. My 2011 c300 smells like gasoline inside and outside after i fill the tank. The smell subsides after the gas tank reaches about half tank mark. During my research i came across a fuel system recall: nhtsa campaign id number: 12v557000 / manufacturer campaign number: 2013010004. My 2011 c300 is one of the vehicles listed. I contacted mercedes benz customer care at 800-367-6372; customer care stated that the vin was not included in a recall. The current mileage is 78,381
A strong smell of gas is coming from back seat (passenger side)
Car will smell like fuel after filling up on full tank. I took the car into mercedes of greenway in downtown houston. They discovered a leak in fuel system, it's causing the check engine light to come on because of the inadequate pressure. When i had the car parked in my garage, my whole house smelled like fuel ! it's a big safety issue/fire hazard. I've seen other 2011 c300 are experiencing same issues.
I began smelling gas in the cab of the vehicle.after refueling, the vehicle was leaking gas from the right side in the driveway of my residence and the odor of gas in the cab began to increase.merecedes personnel refused to acknowledge other issues and wanted to begin at their starting points regarding repairs.when this recall was addressed, i was informed it did not apply to my vehicle.after a lengthy elimination process, we learned the fuel pump flange had failed in this model as it has in other similar models.merecedes at this point refused to extend a warranty consideration so i sought out an independent mechanic to repair it.now mercedes is refusing to reimburse the cost of the repairs.
When i fill up the car with gas, my car smells like gas inside and out until it reaches about a half a tank. This is very dangerous and i've read that several other mercedes are having the same issue. I've contact mercedes but they say it's not on a recall list.
Filled gas tank full start gasoline is leaking underneath the vehicle - location rear passenger side. Placed a pan and collected approximately a quart of gasoline in 4.5 hours.
Car leaks gasoline when above 3/4 of tank in the right rear area by the fuel filler line.smell gas and see gas leaking.
Plastic top of fuel pump located under back seat cracks and fuelvapors enter the car. Believe the part is defected to crack for no reason or under stress.
The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz c300. The contact stated that a strong fuel odor was present inside the cabin of the vehicle. When fueling the vehicle, strong fuel vapors leaked from the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was called and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v557000 (fuel system). The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.
The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz c300. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power. Upon inspection, the contact found that the vehicle retained excessive water. The vehicle was taken to benzel-bunch motor car (28 grand ave, englewood, nj) where it was diagnosed that the vehicle's drains were clogged and they would need to perform a flush to remove the water and rewire the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was approximately 79,000.
07/31/2021 fuel smell in the cabin, and in the garage, and a small paddle of gas formed under the car, but at that time i wasn't sure if it was the a/c condense, or gas. Took car out of the garage and left it there overnight. Drove the car next day and the smell was less noticeable, and it disappeared in about two days.next two weeks did not ill up the tank completely, and there was no smell or leak.yesterday, sunday, aug 22nd, i filled the car with gas again until the pump stopped, and the smell came back instantly, as i was driving home. Parked the car in the driveway and immediately noticed a large paddle of gas forming under the left rear wheel.removed back seat and both fuel tank pump metal covers, and both plastic fittings/covers were leaking gas, more so on the driver's side. There are hairline fractures in both covers, and both are leaking gas. Removed both covers and siphoned gas out of the car until the leak stopped.i went to hendrick's mb of durham and asked about the recall, they denied that my car qualifies. The parts alone were quoted at $1229.12, without labor, and i was toldfuel tank worth about $1,000.00 (without labor) may need to be changed as well.nhtsa recall campaign 2013020002 mentions my car. My defect is worse than most because both sides leak gas, not just the pump, and both have visible with naked eye fractures that leak gas.i cannot understand how is my risk of fire and death while driving less than that of other mb's with exactly the same failure, in the same class, and the same c300, for the same year.i expect the costof repair withlabor to be more than $3,500 .
There appears to be is a crack on the fuel filter. This crack has resulted in a fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire. The top of the fuel sending units are leaking. High fumes odor inside and out of the vehicle both when it is stationary and in motion regardless if it's on the highway, turning or city street.

The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz c300. The contact stated that the vehicle emitted a fuel odor. The contact took the vehicle to mercedes-benz of ontario (located at 3787 e guasti rd, ontario, ca 91761, 909-212-8400) who inspected the vehicle and noticed that the fuel filter was fractured and caused fuel to leak underneath the rear seats. The contact stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v557000 (fuel system, gasoline). The fuel filter flanges were replaced. The contact called the manufacturer, but was unable to speak with an agent. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
I filled my gas tank up friday evening, went home and parked my vehicle in the garage.the next morning there was a strong smell of gasoline coming from the car.i took it to the mercedes dealer and they said the seal and cap under the passenger back seat needed to be replaced. They wanted to charge $434.not only is this dangerous it should not be the consumers responsibility when the manufacturer provided faulty material.
The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz c300. When the fuel tank was full, there was a strong fuel odor inside the vehicle on the rear passenger side. The failure occurred while driving various speeds. While the vehicle was parked, the odor was very strong inside and outside the vehicle. The contact had to roll down the windows for the fuel odor to subside. The failure occurred without warning. When the fuel tank was half full, there was no fuel odor in the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted at 800-367-6372 and stated that the vin was not included in a recall; therefore, the contact had to pay for the repair. A case number was not provided. Car interior smells of fuel after filling up the tank. The smell is also noticeable when parked in the garage.my mercedes e350 also had the same issue and it was determined that it was a defective fuel cell sending unit.
Strong fuel odor every timefilled up the gas tank (full tank)
Takata recall had vehicle checked after consistent smell of fuel upon filling up the car.mechanic discoveredthe fuel filler neck to be faulty because of plastic connector fuel tank.
Strong fuel odor inside cabin and around vehicle after fueling. Issue started over last couple of months and only when fueled to close to full.
Ihad to pay for a fuel filter leak due to a crack of the fuel filter flange and was told this was not a recall on my vehicle, but when i was looking at recalls for my year and model i came across nhtsa campaign number-12v557000 with a recall on merceded-benz c300 4 matic model year 2011-2012 for fuel leak due to cracked flange.i asked the dealership about it even though that is exactly what had to be replaced and said it did not affect my vehicle, i called mercedes benz at the number provided in the remedy section of the announcement and was told it was not my vehicle, please advise what i should do next, thank you
Gas leak .. Causing car too smell like gas when you fill up
About 5 months ago i smelled a strong odor of gas fumes omitting from my car while i was driving on the freeway. I live in southern california where the weather gets extremely hot. I brought my car in to get checked out at a local mechanic shop on 12/23/2016 and it turns out that the fuel tank was cracked and leaking fuel. I looked on the nhtsa database and found a recall reported on 12/03/2012 regarding a fuel filter leak as mentioned below.nhtsa campaign number: 12v557000 manufacturer mercedes-benz usa, llc.components fuel system, gasolinesummarymercedes-benz is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 s400, s550, s550 4matic, s63 amg, c300, c300 4matic, e350, glk350, glk350 4matic, cl550 4matic, and cl63 amg vehicles i manufactured from april 18, 2011, through july 12, 2011. Due to an irregularity stemming from the molding process of the fuel filter flange, the fuel filter flange may crack when operated in high temperatures.although the recall was specifically for mercedes benz c300 manufactured in 2011, i believed it should also extend to the previous year; 2010. Im reporting this to see if any other cars had the same exact issue as what was described above. I believe this is a definite fire risk especially to those living in very hot locations such as southern california. I would like to know if the recall covers my car and if so i would like to get reimbursed for the services i paid to the mechanic shop. Thank you.
At only 5000 clutch and flywheel "exploded" according to diagnostic at princeton dealership.qec center in jacksonville promised to provide results of analysis to determine cause.on 7/10/2013 i learned upon inquiry that qec advised princeton dealership to dispose of parts without giving me the opportunity to keep those parts.i wish to know why this happened; how common is this occurrence; and what is my recourse if this happens again.
I wasn't driving down the highway at 60 mph and the car went into neutral by itself and stayed there in the middle of the road. The car wouldn't move at all and had to pull over to the hard shoulder and restart the engine. This happened to me 4 times in total. I scanned it and they said it's the speed sensor inside the conductor plate which entirely needs to be replaced and reprogrammed by mercedes. This is a safety issue because a car going into neutral in the middle of the highway is dangerous to other drivers which can cause an accident that can take your life. Many other cars with the 722.6g transmission has it and mercedes knows about it. By the way, the vehicle wasn't in motion while all these incidents occurred.
When in motion a grinding noise can be heard, which was later identified as a transmission bearing.vehicle has approximately 69,000 miles.the vehicle has been regularly serviced by a mercedes dealer in most cases, which included a scheduled transmission service that was conducted by mercedes.
On july 1, my daugther who is driving the car since about 8 months noticed a strange noise coming from the rear of the car. Since i was in europe at that time i could not give her any assistance. On july 16 we both took a drive to rhode island to visit a college. I was the one driving, and i could also hear the noise coming from the rear. On the highway there was a back-up developing and i had to hit the brakes a littler harder. In doing so. The car was very unstable and it look like if the rear was going to overtake the front of the car. I was very scary even for myself who is a long time experience driver. After returning home i took the car to a mechanic and have him look at it. The resulting diagnosis revealed that the subframe was completely rusted out and was about to get disconnected from the under carriage of the car at any moment. The mechanic had a hard time to find a replacement part, and was finally able to locate an oem subframe in california, the only one in the us. The price for the part alone was $1,500. I had no choice other than to have the car repaired at the mechanic since it was at that time undrivable. The total repair was almost $3,200. I took 2 pictures of the replaced subframe (see attached). The car is a 2011 mb c300-4-matic with just 100,800 miles on it. The was purchased used, with about 12,000 miles, in febr. 2012 from mercedes benz of westford, ma, which had used the car as a loaner/company car. The car was well maintained, used up until 2020 by my daughter's mother. She then bought herself another, newer c300 (2017 model) and decided to gift her older car to the daughter instead of trading it in. We thought, we knew a lot about the car and considered it a low risk transfer for a new, still learning driver. I will also file a formal complaint with mercedes benz if i have figured out the correct contact point. The internet shows, other people have experienced similar situations. And eventually, see also your id-# 10504684 and 11023618.
When coming to a stop or letting off the accelerator pedal it feels as if the vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle. I suspect it's either coming from the drive shaft or transmission. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership a number of times but can not duplicate after it happened going on a test drive with a technician.
Takata recall
The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz c300. While driving, the passenger side headrest air bag deployed without warning or impact. There were no injuries. The air bag indicator illuminated after the air bag deployed. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic, but the cause of the failure could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz c300. While the vehicle was parked, the headrest air bags burst on their own without warning. The contact stated that an unknown warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to w.i. Simonson mercedes-benz (located at 1626 wilshire blvd, santa monica, ca 90403, (855) 677-2690), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 110,352.
When i bought my car my passenger seat was ripped in the seam. I took my car to mercedes dealership and they contacted mercedes to see if this would be covered and mercedes said no'i had to of cleaned my seats with cleaner to wear out the leather. I for 1. Had just bought the car and it was a one owner before me (lease) and 2. I never clean my seats with any cleaner and the r.i.p. Was right on the seam, so this to me was a defect in the seat from the get go with mercedes. The dealership took photos so those should be on file. This was denied and i had to pay out of my own pocket. Secondly, the same thing happened to the driver seat'the exact same rip. I had to pay to have this fixed out of my own pocket as well. I find it hard to believe two seats within 6 months or so rip in the seams and mercedes doesn't think it's a defect on their part. I've owned several mercedes and this has never happened before let along it has never happened to me with any of my cars. I would like for you to look into this because i was not able to get the mercedes manufactured seats put back in because they were so expensive. I think mercedes should pay for my seats to be replaced.
The contact owned a 2011 mercedes benz c300. While at a stop, the accelerator pedal was applied and the vehicle violently accelerated to 30 mph. The brake pedal was depressed, but failed to respond causing the contact to crash into the rear end of another vehicle. The steering wheel and the steering column air bags deployed. As a result, the contact sustained knee and back injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.
The contact owns a 2011 mercedes benz c300. The contact stated that while entering a parking space, the brakes failed and the vehicle went over a curb and slightly crashed into the front of a building. There was no damage to the vehicle because the vehicle was moving at such a slow rate of speed. The contact stated that the vehicle did not accelerate but continued rolling and would not stop. The dealer inspected the vehicle and determined there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 4,100.
Brake pedal is notchy or sticks during the initial portion of pedal travel. Inconsistent brake feel at each stop leads to over or under braking, depending on whether or not the pedal sticks. It has been diagnosed by mercedes as an internally leaking brake booster, but they won't replace it, saying the part falls within specs. This car is a 2011 c300w4. This model is not listed in your pull down menu (i entered e class to complete the form).

This is a well documented accident as it involved a police chase of a felon who ran a red light at approximately 50 mph.my car was hit on the left front side and is deemed totaled. No air bags deployed in my vehicle and i required emergency transport to the local hospital emergency room.this also involved a police shooting incident with the death of the other driver. The vehicle is pending towing to a salvage yard.the primary concern is a question of defective air bag deployment and future potential injury to others.
The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz c300. The contact stated that the vehicle did not start and the steering wheel seized. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who determined that the steering lock module failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was not repiared. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 103,000.

Car parked, steering column seized. Unable to start ignition or put vehicle in gear.
2008-2011 mercedes models were manufactured with cheap electronic steering locks that fail often. While i havenā€™t experienced a failure while driving, the system is and has been extremely problematic and unreliable. It is highly plausible that the system could fail while driving due to the cheap components and unreliable and faulty programming. I urge the nhtsa to look into this and require mercedes to replace these eslā€™s with a safer, more reliable steering component that doesnā€™t have the potential to suddenly lock or unlock due to a unforeseen failure.
On 11/25/2017 at 1550 hours, i made multiple attempts to start my vehicle. The key would turn but the vehicle would not start. The switch lights were operating. However, the wheel would not turn and the gear was stuck. The battery was checked and it was fully operational. The tow truck company made multiple attempts to recharge the car with no success. My car was towed from dc to dumfries, va (home). On 11/27/2017 at approximately 0721 hours. My vehicle was towed from my house to the alexandria mercedes-benz service center. Mercedes gave me a loaner car. At 0945 hours, i received a call from the mercedes-benz specialist and he said the issue is the steering lock. Which is a normal problem with these vehicles. I was told the price would be $1,628. My vehicle has never had any issues and i keep my maintenance and everything else up to date. Mercedes-benz should recall all vehicles that have this issue.
The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz c300. The contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 19v010000 (air bags). The contact took the vehicle to plaza mercedes-benz (11910 olive blvd, creve coeur, mo 63141, (314) 266-5469) and was informed that the steering column needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the steering column was not covered under warranty and she would have to pay out of pocket for the repairs. The dealer stated that if the steering column were not replaced, the vehicle could potentially shut off without warning. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact had not experienced a failure.
I went to the park with my wife and 1 year old son, i parked the car and returned a few hours later, the steering column was locked and the key would not start or unlock the steering wheel, the car had to be dragged out of parking space since the steering wheel would not unlock and the car was stuck in park. It was towed to the dealership where they diagnosed a bad steering column $1600 repair bill, after researching the issue i have found hundreds of owners of the same vehicle which have the exact same issue and repair, so this is a very common and know issue by mercedes benz. I believe that if the steering column can become locked it could potentially turn very dangerous if the car is in motion because the operator would be unable to maneuver the vehicle.
Steering column lock faulty eis/esl car won't start numerous complaints from others owners. Went on break took nap in car come back 1 hour later won't start.
The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz c300. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to mercedes-benz of northlake (located at 10725 northlake auto plaza, charlotte, nc 28269, (704) 321-4833) where it was diagnosed that the electronic steering was faulty. The technician replaced the steering lock. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 87,536.
The contact owns a 2011 mercedes benz c300. The contact stated after her vehicle was serviced at (mercedes-benz of shrewsbury 760 boston turnpike, shrewsbury, ma 01545) for air bag replacement. While attempting to start the vehicle the engine would not start and the power steering ceased. The vehicle was initially diagnosed with a replacement battery and after the replacement the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for a second diagnosis which was that the steering lock module was needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of this failure. The failure mileage was 71,000.
Http://www.carproblemzoo.com/mercedesbenz/c300/steering-column-problems.php
Parked car, next day won't start. Steering locked. All lights and radio come on. Noticed multiple complaints for same issue. Mercedes need to recall!

The passenger side of the car got flooded with water.the dealership found that the leak was from the right side sunroof drain and that they would have to remove the headliner and passenger side interior carpeting to access the affected areas.the $795 estimate ballooned to $1600 when they said that the seating would have to be removed to remove the entire carpet because there was more water that had gotten into the car than they originally thought!this sounds like a design defect in this vehicle! this could be dangerous with the electric power and heated seats!
Rear suspension control arm rusts off of the subframe. No other rust on the car. During braking the car steers hard to the right almost causing an accident
The rear sub-frame of my mercedes failed and resulted in a dangerous situation due to left rear suspension attachment point breaking free.braking became uncontrollable. This seems to be a common problem in the 2008-2014 c300 mercedes based on a quick scan of the internet.
While driving, i hit my brakes and it were as if an invisible hand grabbed the steering wheel and turned sharply to the right. I nearly went over a mountain. I drove slowly home but each time i would hit my brakes the same would happen. Long story short, my 2011 c300 with 80k miles, bought from the showroom and garage kept has a rusted and broken subframe. My vehicle is not drivable. I would like to mention also that the air conditioner has a terrible moldy odor.
The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz c300. While driving 35 mph, the rear driver's side of the vehicle veered to the left. The contact immediately applied the brakes. The contact drove to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the rear driver's side subframe and driver's side control arm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000. *as

Driving on highway, went to apply brakes and car swerved violently to the right, and car body felt like it was 'swimming' around on the frame.car felt very unstable.took car to mercedes dealership, and confirmed that the rear subframe was completely cracked.technician noted what appeared to be "rust proofing spray on the rusted area".mercedes dealership quoted $4,000 for repair.there is a recall on this part in canada.mercedes dealership claimed no knowledge of canadian recall.am awaiting follow up call from mercedes benz corporate.
Rear subframe has rotted through. The control arm connection has come loose.no other rust on the car
I was driving my 2011c-class on i-95 north of philadelphia when i had to slow down due to traffic. Without warning the rear of the car started fishtailing almost causing a multi-vehicle accident which would have resulted in injuries or worse. I exited the highway and took smaller streets to get to my mechanic who has serviced the car since the mercedes extended warranty expired.upon inspection he noticed the rear subframe was rotted out completely and the toe arm was not attached. I have owned this cpo car since june 2012. The car is garage kept and there are no other issues or rust on the car. It has approximately 129,000 miles. This seems to be a defect as other owners with this model have experienced similar problems.
Right rear trailing arm mount became detached from sub frame. Sheet metal on rear suspension sub frame ripped / tore so that rear trailing arm is only attached to lower part of mount, and not attached to vehicle.no accident, but vehicle is extremely unstable to drive when heavy braking could occur! vehicle veers suddenly to the right! concern besides instability is that loose trailing link could puncture fuel tank less than an inch away.first noticed while driving on i-4 when a vehicle changed into my lane abruptly, and i had to forcefully apply brakes.
I have a 2011 mercedes 80k miles and the rear cradle has rusted out , making the vehicle unsafe to drive
If you search the internet you will see a lot of people are affected by this engineering flaw. There is a bearing in the transmission that fails and they are aware and will not replace it costing the consumer 1000s of dollars to repair. The bearing normally fails at 50000 to 90000 miles some fail sooner. Many have contacted the company and were treated poorly and basically the company does not care. We just had our replaced last week costing us 5200.00please check the web you will find a lot of information. Mercedes knows of this issue and even resolved it in it's rebuilds of the transmission but have not offered a recall and this is wrong and we should all get our money back because it is a huge safety issues as your transmission could seize .

I notice the driver's side front and rear of the vehicle was completely soaked with water after a night of heavy rain. I contacted the dealer and was advised by the service advisor this is a common problem with these vehicles. After the vehicle was at the dealership for a few days i was advised that there is a drain hose from the sunroof that is clogged and the repairs will not be covered under warranty. I infact went to the dealership the same day and was advised by the same service advisor that there was another vehicle that came in that same morning with the same issue!!! i then contacted mercedes benz usa, since this infact seems like a design flaw or vehicle defect which can damage the electrical components of the vehicle. After several days i then contacted the case manager again at mercedes benz and was advised that after reviewing the case they will not assist with any repairs. I was also offered a $1000 to purchase or lease a new vehicle even though they were not able to assist withdefect in the current vehicle. This issued should be a recall considering the fact that it is in no way the fault of the owner these vehicles are designed with a defect and have to come out of pocket for repairs. These vehicles are very expensive and you wouldnt expect this major repair after just 4 years of ownership.
Reporting a known mechanical failure to engine from apparent design of engine.8/2017' vehicle had complete engine failure with <50000 miles, a replacement engine was installed at my expense, complaint filed with mercedes-benz and after internal review no compensation was granted to customer(myself)1/2018-complete engine mechanical failure (2nd time). <6 month from replacement.reported complaint to mercedes-benz.company refuses to cover cost of an apparentmechanical 'recall' issue.there are documented mechanical issues with this engine design resulting in complete failed and mercedes-benz refuses to assist customers with cost for their design flaw and has not issued a 'recall' to their consumers/customers.
Takata recallmy dealership (lokey mercedes clearwater fl)says to each of my inquiries "parts unavailable, no further information" .mercedes benz themselves say same thing plus "drive your car, this recall is a safety precaution".i don't feel like a solution is in sight. Although the takata airbag has not yet malfunctioned,i am driving a potentially dangerous car.please help.
I was contacted years ago about this and no one has the replacement yet.i only have one vehicle, so i will need a loaner too.
Car has a strong sulfur/rotten egg smell at acceleration. Had to complain to local mercedes-benz dealer several times over 3 years before someone looked into the issue. The dealership blamed an accident in jan 2014 for problem, but sulfur smell during acceleration was present before the accident. Instructed to tighten the seal on the bumper in october 2016. Still having sulfur smell enter car when accelerating especially with the air conditioner on, though not as strong as before the bumper seal was retightened. The smell still persists so the problem is still there.
