Takata recall. I received a notice from mbusa 6-8 months ago, and have gotten no response from my local dealer who only knows that this recall, to his knowledge, is on hold, and no parts are available. How can that be possible? if a car is in a crash and the airbag inflator deploys, does it not need to be replaced in order to complete the repairs to the vehicle? i am concerned, and have no faith in the corporate lobbyists and fat cats that cut corners for profits. I just want my car fixed, because i am handicapped, and have an extremely bad back, and worry that incorrect deployment of the airbag would further damage my spine, and cause me to go to a wheelchair from my cane, or worsen the numbness and my inability to get around. This should be your concern as well, because i have contacted an attorney who is willing to take my case for a percentage of the settlement, if we decide to settle, or accept the court mandated fee he would be entitled to. My entire lumbar and sacral spine are compromised bye degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, multiple spinal senoses and more

Takata recall has not been addressed by mercedes benz reportedly due to a lack of parts. The recall is about 3 years old and numerous notices to me indicate that parts to address the recall are unavailable.i am very concerned that the takata bankruptcy will leave my recall unaddressed.i have had an airbag indicator light come on that mercedes benz says is not related to the recall but i am not certain if that statement is accurate. I limit the use of this car since i am not certain that it's safe for me and my passengers.

Takata recall - i called my local mercedes benz service manager to ask about the recall on the airbags. He stated "i don't know when parts would be available". This car is currently 8 years old which would put it at extreme risk and mercedes still does not have a fix for this. They also refuse to offer a loaner car. They recently stated that a replacement would be available in last june of 2018 however they have now delayed that again to december 2018.

I have asked the park place motorcars mercedes-benz dallas location, on two occasions, about the recall notices i received.i was told that i did not need to worry about the recall unless i actually experienced an issue with the bags.the issue is that i won't know if i have an issue with the bags until i have an accident, and i am either injured or killed by these airbags.

This is my son's life we are talking about and i can not afford to get rid of the car now!! i feel this car should not have been sold without it being fixed first.
"takata recall" i feel that this recall should be resolved by now.this is very unsafe if i have my children in the car and god forbid there is an accident theni would be in danger due to something that was designed to make travel safer.the is unacceptable andi purchased mercedesfor safety and reliability.my family has purchased mercedes for years due to the quality it meant to own a mercedes and quick issue resolution. Ifi was going to run into a airbag issue that would take this long to beresolved i could have purchased a hyundai.

The air bag is not working
Notices of recall; scheduled with dealer and never received a call back to replacement. The call smells strongly of burnt plastic since i bought the car. Every single car maintenance person tells me the car emits that smell.

All bulbs on the right side tail light are not working, that includes brake light, reverse light, and signal light. I thought the bulbs were out but when i went to change the bulbs they were all fine. What i did noticed was the brown wire was burnt and so was the plastic that holds the wires together, it seemed like that entire side was burnt and even melted. This seems to be an electrical problem and it also seems to be a safety hazard. I've mentioned this a few times to the dealer. Each time they look for a recall with no success. I reported the problem directly to mb and since there still hasn't been a recall, i'm now reporting to nhtsa.
I called mercedes benz dealership to make appointment, they took my information 6 months a go with out any answer the fix the recall problems
My right tail light keeps dimming and going back bright. I thought i needed a bulb but but it gave me a message today for everything on the right side but then the message went away. Last night someone told me the right light was dim then it got brighter. I've been smelling a faint burning smell but today it was kind of loud. I checked and it looks like the plastic and wire is melting on rte right tail light.
Car wont start, replaced battery, common issue with c300 told by the dealership it would cost $1332 for steering lock to start 5.0 includes if needed to cut out lock pin
I received notice of a safety recall involving the rear tail lights for my 2010 mercedes c300. This car had previously been in an accident and declared a total loss. However, it was rebuilt, inspected, and certified as road worthy.the mercedes dealership refuses to perform the recall work on my car, stating that the fact that the car was a total loss invalidates any warranty and a safety recall is considered warranty work. I feel that a safety recall is not optional, and that mercedes needs to perform this work, regardless of warranty eligibility.
Drivers side lock does not function. When coming up to speed door does not lock posing a safety issue of the door opening in an accident. It is also very inconvient to manually look the door as it only will lock after being closed.
I was driving down rt 70 in marlton, nj on monday may 7, 2012 when every lights in my car lit up.i then took it to mercedes at approximately 1:00 p.m.i sat there waiting for them to tell me what was going on.i decided at 1:50 to find out and i was told by my service tech dan swuwek that it was an electrical problem and that he did not know how long it would be to fix it.i had to get a rental.he called me the next day and indicated that a part was ordered.i then called him back later in the day when he said that it was not the part that they thought it was.another day passed and i was then told that they would be contacting mercedes for help.i also contacted them as well because i wanted to be sure that it was documented.the next day they figured it out and they told me it was the entire electrical system that needed to be replaced.i had to go out of town and did not return until monday may 14, 2012 at which time i was contacted by dan from mercedes indicated that my vehicle was ready for pick up. This is the third mercedes i have leased.my first one was the ml350 which had an electrical fire in the passenger seat heating system.my second one was a c300 which had many problems with the air conditioning system and navigation.this is my third and last one has had many problems with the navigations for which they kept telling me there was nothing wrong with it.however it took my took many parts of the world when trying to enter destination information so it was basically not functioning for many months. Now with this new problem the ecu issues, i hope it gets me through the next 6 months so i can turn this in and never get another mercedes again.they gave me a rental, charged me $3.00 per day, keep my car for a week. Cherry hill mercedes service department and their manager is pretty incompetent.thank you.
Electronic steering lock problem. While attempting to start my vehicle from a parked state. The vehicle will not allow me to start the vehicle and my steering wheel is stuck. Dealer wants to charge me $1800 for a problem that many other mercedes benz owners are having. If you google my mercedes benz c300 wont turn over. This problem is common. I have power to radio, instrument cluster and lights. Unable to unlock my steering wheel and start the vehicle.
I drove 500 miles from chicago to mississauga, ont. Canada. Trip was uneventful. The day after i drove the car to a honda car dealership , ironically, to look for a car for a relative and parked. Returning one hour later i was able to open the doors with the remote but when i tried to start the car everything except for the radio went dead. The car was towed to the mercedes dealership 7 kilometers away. The programmed part had to be ordered so it took two business days to get my car back at a cost of $1071us. It was troubling to reflect on the possibility that this could have happened on one of the rest areasi stopped at in the middle of nowhere along the route. I can't decide whether i would rather not have this system and have my car stolen or left stranded with the nearest town miles away. The dealership said the system just malfunctioned just like a light would blow out. Not good enough system for an expensive car. Thanks for your involvement.
My vehicle was running superior, no warning signals or straining when powering on. Parked car then an hour later tried turning vehicle on and will not turn on for any reason just radio worked. Found out it was steering module needed to be replaced for a hefty $1100. Had the car for only 3 months and barely used it. I believe it's a recall on these issues.
Took car for routine service at local mb dealership on 9/3/16 and was told both front parking lamps/lights are not working, further informed that it is not simple light bulb blow out but something has caused the whole molding/casingholding the light has melted and the entire assembly will have to be replaced.the service adviser stated that he has seen this type of problem before with this type of vehicle.i am not a technical person and can forward email and the details of issue as provided by dealership.i consider this serious safety and fire hazard and wanted to know if this problem has been reported to you before by consumers or by the manufacturer mercedes benz.mileage on form is approximate
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz c300. The contact stated that the rear driver's side light failed due to a melted electrical connector. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for a diagnostic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 50,000.
This has been an ongoing problem since i first received my car.i came to find out once in accident 4/30/17 that there were zero airbags in the car at all!this is very unacceptable
I got couple warning messages on my 2010 mb c-300 that the taillights were not working. When i took the car to the dealer's service department thinking it was the lightbulbs that needed to be changed, i found out that the taillight wires and connectors have overheated and melted. In my case, the dealer service department and mercedes customer care did take the initiative and replaced the wires and connectors with no cost to me, after i discussed with them about the fact that this problem is currently under investigation by nhtsa. I do appreciate mb dealer and customer care's help to resolve the issue and take care of my car. However, i want to report my case to nhtsa to help your agency in data collection to determine how wide spread the problem is and whether a recall should be warranted.
When i turn the key to turn on the car, when it is parked, absolutely nothing happens.i have heard that this has happened to other people with mercedes ignitions
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 16v081000 (air bags) and 16v363000 (air bags). The contact stated that the part was not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule the recall repair. The dealer (dick dyer mercedes-benz and volvo, 5825 two notch rd, columbia, sc 29223, (803) 786-8888) did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. The contact was unable to determine when the vehicle would be repaired. In addition, the key would not turn over intermittently and prevented the vehicle from starting. The dealer replaced the ignition switch, which did not prevent the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the starter needed to be replaced. The contact was uncertain if the dealer and the manufacturer would be able to provide a solution or if the oem part would fail again, if replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the concerns with the two air bag recalls. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
All bulbs on the right side tail light are not working, that includes brake light, reverse light, and signal light.i thought the bulbs were out but when i went to change the bulbs they were all fine.what i did noticed was the brown wire was burnt and so was the plastic that holds the wires together, it seemed like that entire side was burnt and even melted.this seems to be an electrical problem and it also seems to be a safety hazard.i spoke to one of my mechanic friends who suggested i bring the car back to the dealer to try and resolve the problem and he also advised me to disconnect the wires or something like that as this could cause a potential fire.since i'm past the warranty period (50,000 miles) i'm not sure how i'm going to fix this problem, it may be pretty costly and i'm not sure where to start.i thought i should report this to the nhtsa since this can possibly cause major safety hazards and even fires.
Went to start car and nothing. Steering locked and difficult, due to all wheel drive to tow. There are many cases documented about eis/esl failures on mercedes enthusiast forums. The problem is prevalent on the internet. This could be very dangerous on a crowded highway, in a crime ridden area or just in an emergency. The car will start one minute and won't on the next start. Mercedes claimed no financial responsibility for the failure in my case. The car was 2 months out of warranty.
Takata recall, electric system deficient, and brakes failure
The vehicle would not start at all. Battery was replaced and still did not start. Mercedes benz dealer stated that it needs an electronic steering lock. Apparently this is a common problem with mercedes benz sedans. The vehicle was parked.
The warning system for the rear lights have been going off since purchasing the certified preowned vehicle in june 2014. It was returned the dealer multiple times for the issue and never fixed. While driving at night i smelled something burning and the warning system informed me to check all of my rear lights. There were no lights functioning on the rear of the vehicle while driving. The lights, brake lights, turn signals, and rear fog lamps were all not functioning. When a road side technician checked the vehicle he saw burnt wires and melted plastic on the lighting mount.this occurred during a routine trip from new jersey into philadelphia, pa and included driving over the ben franklin bridge. Once i reach philly i stopped the vehicle and called for assistance. That is when the issue was located. The car was towed to the dealer for repair. No more information has been provided from the dealer yet.
The ground wire for the rear brake lights is heating up. Mercedes dealer fixed this, per nhtsa recall #14v-177 but the issue is reoccurring.
Fuel tank leak- smell gas in car and outside car.received notice of airbag recalls and light issue as well.main concern is gas smell emanating from my car.this happens mostly when i fill the tank.
Car doesnt want to start , car has 85k on it . Well maintained, battery was 4 months old , eis switch.
Went to start car when the key turned over lights, radio, etc came on but car would not start.car did not even attempt to turn over but was electronically locked out.tried second key with no avail.
Eis , steering lock
Rear driver side lights not functioning. Found brown wire meeting to circuit board with heat damage to wire and circuitboard at connection. Contact the dealer. Dealers stated recall was done on our vehicle. However this appears to have happened again. Don't know if this happened while the vehicle was in motion. Noticed warning lights indicating bad connection to brake lights and turn signals driver side rear.
Rear tail lights have progressively dimmed over time. Wiring harness was melting. Connector to light carrier and taillight wiring was corroded. Repair of corroded wiring, connector, and light carrier was required.
All of my exterior light bulbs have been replaced every other month. The rear driver side brake light burned out the metal part where mercedes had to replace the unit. As of monday, april 2, 2012 i had to take my car in the dealer to repair a right front passenger side headlight out....updated 03/27/13 updated 04/03/2013
My car made a electric shortage and the car won't turn on so i had to take it to a shop and they told me the car had to be programmed again so it could turn on .
Really cant say much cause thats how i bought the car.
My 2010 mercedes c300 has a faulty electronic steering lock fail-which left me stranded sitting in the park lot about 30 minutes from home. Car would not start i tried to start my car and nothing happens. When i turn the key to on nothing lights up, no crank, no clicks, no windows and no radio. I would lock and unlock with the remote but that was about it. I tried jumping and i tried both keys still nothing happens when i turned the key. Steering wheel was locked and gear stuck in park. Had to have it towed to the mb dealership to have the steering lock and key replaced and ending costing $1,124.00. I have read that this has happened to a whole of mb's and should be a recall. I mean really we pay to have aquality car and so far my mb has had a stinky ac that mb could never figure out how fix, taillight recall, found oil leaking from oil centerfuge cover that cost $199.62 but yet it still leaks oil., currently waiting for the takata airbag inflator recall from april 2016 and today is dec. 2016. Very disappointed in mercedes and will not be purchase again nor will i recommend to anyone. Even theservice at the dealership has gone down. Quality and customer service is not what it use to be.
Electronic steering lock(esl) failed leaving vehicle unable to start.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz c300. The contact stated that after inserting the key into the ignition switch, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed that the steering wheel locking mechanism was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 78,000.
After i turn the car off, the front left light on the top continues to stay on. If i move the knob back and forth slightly, then shuts off, at least for a while. I just had to deal with a dead battery yesterday when i was getting ready to leave work. From what i have recently researched, this is a common issue among this model. Has a recall been made for this? will this cause any other issues with the vehicle? if it is a shortage in the electrical, am i in danger of the vehicle not reacting appropriately while driving at night or at a higher speed on the highway? is there any risk of it catching fire? there is also a sensor that needs to be replaced. I am not that car savvy, but i believe it may have something to do with fuel injection or something filtering properly. Is that another common issue?
Vehicle was stationary on the side of a highway due to a low tire pressure warning.vehicle was turned off.minutes later, attempt was made to turn vehicle back on.vehicle did not turn on (engine did not turn).vehicle was towed to home where same phenomenon occurred, vehicle did not turn on although key was inserted and ignition switch rotated, engine would not start.vehicle was towed to dealership, where it was repaired:faulty electronic steering lock (esl) and electronic ignition switch (eis), sum was about $1,600.all web information points to a common problem and may pose safety hazard, especially when trying to avoid unsafe situations, such as parked alongside a highway where cars speed by at approximately 65 mph.issue is known and mercedes benz fails to acknowledge premature failure of ignition components.
Front right parking lamp melted into headlight fixture.was told my mb dealer yesterday it was due to the headlight overheating and i need to pay to replace entire headlight $900.00they had similar issues with tail lights and had a recall on cars to replace.maybe something is wrong with front light also.,.
The c300 model has a notorious problem with electronic steering locking leaving the car mobileless. Cannot even put in neutral for towing. The car simply won't start. It will leave a motorist stranded at any time, any place and without any warningand represents a dangerous hazard to motorist's safety. Mercedes should be brought to court via class action law suit.consumer stated car has been repaired.
Over the ownership of this vehicle i have had to replace several electrical components.these include more than i have time or space to list them, but the latest is now the comand buttons on the dash board which no longer function.i was told ican have this fixed for the low price of $2,000 to replace the entire system.
Warning light on my instrument cluster prompted "check left tail and brake light". I checked all the bulbs, they were all functioning except for 1 or two dim bulbs in the left taillight assembly. I unplugged the connector/harness to the assembly and found one of the wire insert connectors to be melted in the plastic connector, the melting affected the plastic as well.i am worried for a possible fire hazard in my trunk compartment. Contacted mercedes for a service appointment.
2010 mercedes c300 has 57000 miles. Drove it 2 miles in the morning to get gonto an appt and the the car would not start...thought maybe the battery but when the jump didnt work i had to take it to the dealership who said it was the electronic steering colum that failed and needed to be replaced for $1460...no other indication that something was wrong...just stopped working. Apparently this is a common problem that should be considered a recall...never getring another mercedes.
Passenger was attempting to get out of the car. Tried to open the door handle and the door handle broke. Leaving door handle tension less. Forcing me to roll down the window to let passenger out of the car.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz c300. While the vehicle was parked, the passenger side low beam head lamp continued to illuminate even though the vehicle was turned off. As a result, the battery drained. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who repaired the vehicle under nhtsa campaign number: 14v177000 (exterior lighting); however, the failure recurred on numerous occasions. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
I was traveling to north carolina and pulled over to change my tire, my car would not start.leaving me stranded on the interstate.again i arrived on north carolina and the will not start after staying at a friend's for the night. I cannot get back to connecticut. I researched and seen that this is an ongoing issue that is not being rectified.
Rear tail light failure . Vehicle replaced rear electrical on the recall. However my tail lights failed again, the dealer required payment.
Cam solenoid most c300 will stop turning on all the car does is ask u to take key of ignition.. I searched the issue and there is thousands of people having the same issue. It's not fair to consumers not to have a recall on a part that is defective that cost over a thousand to fix . Please help us resolve this matter
Received message rear license light out. Replaced bulb but continued getting message.rear parking camera started displaying images when brake depressed.messages continued to check all rear light bulbs.when inspecting, i noticed burn marks on bulb carrier (part #211-545-03-28) and plug (part #204-820-09-77). I purchased new parts to install but had difficulty removing the wire clips from the plug.i was not aware and the mercedes parts department did not mention i would need to also get connector pins (or that this overheating was a recurring problem).unable to easily remove wiring & pins, i decided to search internet for guidance on replacement (before cutting wires) and discovered several websites reciting others having similar problems with overheating of the ground wire connection and that a recall investigation had been started.it certainly appears that this problem of overheating/melting of parts is a real fire hazard that is occurring frequently enough to at least require that a notice be sent to car owners to have carriages & wiring promptly inspected and repaired.
Steering wheel locked in garage. "remove key from ignition" is message on instrument cluster. Car will not start. This car has less than 64k miles. Car was stationary in my garage. Now i have to pay a tow company to somehow get it out of garage, as it is front end in oriented (pulled in instead of backed in), and tow to dealership, and prepare for an overly inflated repair cost.
Rear tail lamp electric harness melted. Specifically the brown wire. This also melted the terminal leading to a fire hazard and the lights not working. This is after the lights were "fixed" for the recall.
I drove my car to a restaurant.after about 15 minutes, i returned and tried to crank the vehicle.the key fob did not unlock the stirring wheel and tires.i had it towed to the dealership and was told it was a steering column issue.enough of an issue that it cost me $1000.00 to repair.i started researching and found that there are many complaints about this same issue.there are references to both the esi and/or esl failures.this is a known issue with mercedes benz and i am concerned that this is a safety issue as motorist are left stranded unless towed.
Connector for the taillights melting onto the housing. Possible ground wire issue. Fire hazard.
Key in ignition, steering wheel does not unlock. Able to get key into run and crank position with no instrument cluster lights turning on. All other electrical features to the car work (radio, power windows, seats, lights). Unable to shift car into neutral without removing gear selector shift cover.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. While attempting to drive the vehicle, it failed to start. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v081000 (air bags); however, the part needed for the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 72,000.
The steering lock failed.stopped at the post office and my car would not start when i got back to the car.the door locks would work but the ignition would not read my fob. I did a little research and found that this is a common problem.
I recently had an issue with my eis on my 2010 c300, the car had roughly 60000 miles when the issue occurred. I parked my car in a parking garage, and when i went to leave work, the car wouldn't start. The steering column was locked, and i was unable to put the car in neutral. The issue seems to be one that occurs in a large number of mercedes cars with similar make/model/mileage, which is generally right outside of the mileage for the standard warranty. Mercedes doesn't allow the issue to be fixed by licenseddealers, and can only be fixed by a dealership. I believe this to be a conflict of interest and somewhat of an ethical dilemma. I am not sure if the eis would ever go out while driving, but if so, that could result in safety issues for the driver.
Car was operating fine when i got home around noon parked on the street outside my house, at 2pm i was trying to leave. While starting the car the warning showed up on my dash stating "remove key from the ignition". Called aaa to ensure that the battery was ok. Aaa showed up and inspected the car. Battery was up to standards. Mechanic said to use a spare key to test out the issue. Grabbed a spare key and the same warning showed up on the dash. Mechanic said that i need to take the car to the dealer and get my eis system replaced and a steering column. Took it to the dealer, and they told me the same thing. Here you go, final bill $1,600 out the door. Make this a recall item if everyone is having this issue.
While parked over night or during the day while at work the parking light come on by it self without my knowing. This drains the battery and i have to get a jump start. . this is really inconvenience. I could be anywhere and this could happen. This happens once sometime twice a month. It is not the light switch , it is always in the off position on several occasions i was able to return and turn off the light. Only one lightcomes onthe passenger side front and rear.
All driver side rear lights went out. There is sign of possible burnt residue on wire and light casing.
Similar to other complaints that have been filed against mercedes, it seems as though the electrical connection to my rear right light (brake light, running light, turn signal, etc.) has melted and is no longer operational.the entire light is out and i get warning messages on the dash about the problem.it looks like this is the same problem that everyone else with the same make/model as me are having.hopefully mercedes recognizes the scale of this flaw in their engineering and sends out a recall sooner than later.
Approximately once every 2 months while parked with the engine off, the front passenger side headlight will come on with the rear passenger side parking/brake light. When this occurs, i have to turn the headlight switch on then back off, to turn off the lights.on one occasion, i observed the passenger side headlight and the rear passenger light flickering like a strobe light, before i turned the switch on then off.
I read all the internet and forums almost every c300 has the same problem. It's not fair to the consumers that we pay for a manufacturing malfunction. Car won't start and show a msg of take car of ignition . It's a $2000 fix for something small but only can be fixed at the dealership. It's a highway robbery in bright day light . Please save the consumers from a greedy company . Last time i will ever own a benz .
The auto lock would randomly unlock and lock at the wrong time causing the door handle to not be responsive anymore..mercedes charged 1000 dollars to fix his when it is a common problem and a very big safety issue. Unfortunately i can't afford to fix my door which makes me think if i get into a car accident what would i do?
I drove my 2010 c300 to an appointment 2 miles away and went to start the car after an appointment and it would not start...tried having it jumped but it didn't work...had it towed to the dealership who told me it was an electrinic steering malfunction and needed to be replaced for $1460...there was no indication that there was an issue until it jist stopped working...unacceptable and from what i habe learned this is a rampant problem with mercedes and should be considered a recall.
Security system disables ignition due to a failure of the esl (steering lock). Nothing is wrong with the car it just won't start.
Came home parked the car and after 5 mins. Had to go somewhere try to start the car , no power at all , ignition wont start . Radio works , lights work remote key works opens and locks the doors . But will not start . And steering is locked also , i did a little research and found out a lot of people having the exact same issue. I believe it should be covered by recall .
Went into work and came back out to my car not starting. Battery just recently replaced within the past 6 months. Had the battery charged and tried to do a jump and still nothing. Had to get my car towed to the auto shop only to find out i have a failed eis, meaning my electronically ignition system has failed and its going to cost me 1000 to fix. My car is out of warranty but i find this a major inconvenience. This is supposed to be a reliable car the reason i chose to get this car and something like the ignition has failed. I wish there was something that mbusa could do to pay for a majority of the issue or even do a reimbursement. This can be a safety issue as well, i always think what if i was out of town or what if i had a emergency and because of this glitch i simply have no car and now i'm dependent on a ride until i can get this fixed!
Esl module failure(brushes of the substandard electrical motor go bad) leaves the car inoperable. Almost all c300 and similar models will experience this failure before they reach 80,000 miles. The module is buried deeply into the car yet it would fail with certainty. The mass failure of the module would suggest that there would be a recall, nevertheless mercedes-benz(mb) is pretending the problem doesn't exist and owners are often left stranded on parking lots with an useless car and stuck with a bill of $2000 for something that is clearly a mb design and engineering fault.
My c300 is having a eis (electrical ignition system failure). Where the key in the ignition won't start the vehicle. It will leave you stranded and won't allow you to put the car in neutral because of the amir theft lock out box. Many people are having this issue. Simple research can show you that.
Passenger taillight connector/wiring insufficiently designed for load.wire/connector plastic is melting and causing unsafe conditions.this is a very common problem with 2008-2010 c-class and is frequently noted in mb owner's forums/websites.
My passenger side light (upper eyelid) comes on after i have turned off the ignition switch. Also rear brake light.i go in side to work and some tells me my lights are on .finally one saturday i wake up to a dead battery. I don't want to get stranded anyplace,
Drove my car to work everything was fine.. When i went to leave i turned the key and nothing happened.. After talking with a mb service consultant he is informed me that it is probably the electric ignition switch.. Doing some research online i see that this is a very common problem.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. The contact stated the ignition was defective. The vehicle was towed to the mercedes-benz of springfield dealer, located at 295 burnett rd, chicopee, ma 01020 where it was diagnosed that the key needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000. The vin was not provided.
2010 mercedes benz c300. Consumer writes in regards to various safety recalls. Consumer states that they were never notified of these recalls. *ld
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. While driving various speeds, the headlights and interior lighting failed. Upon exiting the vehicle, the interior lighting remained illuminated and drained the battery. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuse box failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Fault shows up on dash board-"power steering malfunction, see operators manual".this fault stays on when the car is in stationary mode & or in motion. Vehicle seems to operate properly, all fluid levels have been verified specially "power steering fluid".
I being waiting for 3 years now . I'm scared to drive the car . My airbag warning lightare on for 3 years now .this is my 4 time i i complain about it to m.b
Car doesnt want to start , car has 85k on it . Well maintained, battery was 4 months old , eis switch.
Steering wheel lockkeeping car from starting has happen numerous times to me any many people with benz
They never have the part i have 2010 mercedes benz c 300 i need it fix, the lights codes are always, going on and off. Check ingine light.no accedint . . just recall and need it fix passenger air bag
The check engine light comes on dealing with the catalytic converter/fuel system. The sensors areoff causing the emission of too much gas. The car runs out of gas fast and does not drive well to get good gas miles per tank. The car's exterior lights also go out fast. This should not happen with a top of the line mercedes car.
Engine ignition switch failure which had me stranded on a busy freeway with my young child. This is a well known issue with mercedes benz and was extremely costly
I have 2010 mercedes benz c300, my car would not start with my key even though the battery checked okay. This is a very common failure among c300 models (2008 to 2013). So meaning cars are vulnerable to this failure around 5 year mark. Manufacturer should issue a recall on these parts, as they have a very bad reliability.

After backing out of handicap parking space and moving forward at a slow speedmy vehicle was rear-ended, at which point the vehicle forcefully accelerated forwardindependently without warning and crashed into another parked vehicle (forcefully moving this vehicle approximately three feet) the vehicle continued to speed through the handicap parking lot as i continued to brake without results of stopping. This vehicle ran through a stop sign and into the front entrance road of the va hospital.( this road has heavy traffic and pedestrian usage) the only way to stop my vehicle was to jump the curb and run into a tree. I feel very fortunate that my vehicle was the only thing damaged. This could have been a devastating event if disabled wheelchair persons or pedestrians had been in the path of this occurrence.i am reporting this to say that this has happened to other c300 2010 mercedes benz and needs to be investigated as a serious safety issue. This could cause deaths. I have a witness to my brake lights going on and off as i tried to stop this car.
The belt tensioner for the serpentine belt seized up causing the serpentine belt to shred and causing damage to the upper and lower pulleys. The car became immobile immediately as all the accessories were rendered useless, like the power steering, alternator, etc. As a result, the following had to replaced: serpentine belt, tensioner, upper pulley, and lower pulley. I was very fortunate that this occurred when i was parking in a parking lot after driving on the highway. If this had happened at highway speeds, there is no doubt in my mind that it would have caused a very serious accident, as you would have no steering on the highway. While researching this safety concern online, it seems like this is a relatively common issue with 2008-2011 c-class vehicles. Some were reported to be repaired under warrant while most others had to pay for the repair costs out of pocket. This is a very serious safety concern that can possibly lead injury or death. I spoke with mercedes benz corporate regarding this issue and was told that it is not an issue and there is nothing they will do about it. I emphasized how dangerous this can be at highway speeds and they did not seem to be concerned. My recommendation to mercedes benz is to recall the 2008-2011 c-class for this issue before it causes a serious injury or death.
Car wont start, replaced battery, common issue with c300 told by the dealership it would cost $1332 for steering lock to start 5.0 includes if needed to cut out lock pin
Aug 12, 2020 took c300 to fletcher jones motorcars of fremont. I paid for them to do an oil & filter change after they did perform recall 2018120017 ~ 18p9193104 cause: recall 2019120027. Paid $204.65 that day. 01/21/21- after driving, w my significant other, at city speed limit to fedex which is 1 mile from my house on same street, and back, my sig other couldn't put back the seat and the airbag lights were on. I had to drive to work next day, unsafe...pressed up against steering wheel because i'm 6 feet. Somehow that went away. 03/09/21- i took in the car, by tow truck, back same place fletcher jones and had a bee service per manufacturers specifications service dealt on my car they performed be service with brake fluid flush numerous other stuff i'm also reported to them a misfiring because i did hook up an obd2 but during their road test they just noted a strong vibration from the driveline they ran a quick test found no fault but noted collapsed backslash worn motor and transmission mounts and recommend replacement they also noted voltage related faults however the alternator and battery would pass their tests and they released my car to me after charging me $576.97. Today, 03/19/21- had to tow my car again from approximately three blocks away because it just turned off on me with a message brake srs edt, and something about it failing. Now...im stuck because mercedes screwed me!
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled at start-up and while driving at various speeds. The battery failure warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic nor a dealer to be diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
Security system disables ignition due to a failure of the esl (steering lock). Nothing is wrong with the car it just won't start.
I was driving the car and just stop in the middle of the street, i almost had and accident. I took my car to my mechanic, he can'tfixed, the dealer need to do the job for tree times more. Than my mechanic.this is unfair! i buy my car in 2012 original mileage 10000miles. To my knowledge is to low very mileage for having this type a problem.
Luckily i took car in for a safety check and belt tensioner was found to be shredding. It should last longer than this and is a safety hazard.this extra visit to the dealer may have save me from having an incident. I otherwise never would've know the belt was shredding.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. While driving, the engine warning indicator illuminated and a fuel odor entered the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to mercedes-benz of south mississippi (11619 bobby eleuterius blvd, d'iberville, ms 39540), but the failure could not be duplicated. Days later, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to mercedes-benz of south mississippi, but the cause of the failure could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they informed the contact that there was liquid gas formed on top of the fuel pump and a seal needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
I was told that my car has a recall for the camshaft adjustment solenoid. I took my car into mercedes to be repaired and they told me that the recall was closed and they could not repair my vehicle. I am worried about this issue causing more damage to my engine and i am concerned for my safety while operating my vehicle. I encounter problems with my vehicle while driving.
I drove my car to a store, turned it off and left it for 10 minutes. When i returned the car would not start. I had a friend try to jump my 1 year old battery amd still no start. My display says to remove key when my key is in. Lights, radio, and locks work but no windows. Dealer says i need a new steering wheel column. This problem is posted everyone online. Seems like a common thing. Dealership says it'll cost me $1575 and take 5 days to fix.
Previously recalled for the same issue in 2014. Tail light bulb holders or wiring harness catching fire.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz c300. The contact received a notification for nhtsa campaign id number 14v17700 (exterior lighting) however, the part for the repairs was unavailable. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000.
Parking bulbs melted into the light casing unit. This was confirmed by mercedes benz of sacramento dealership.
A little less than a year ago my driver side inner parking light bulb failed, and about a week later the passenger side inner parking light bulb failed as well. When i went to replace them, the bulb and headlight assembly showed visible damage from where it appeared as if both bulbs caught on fire and melted into the headlight assembly, permanently damaging both driver and passenger headlight assemblies. There was the presence of charring on the bulb socket as well. I took the vehicle to the local mercedes benz dealership and they stated there was nothing they could do except to replace both headlight assemblies. If it were merely one bulb that failed in this manner, i would have chalked it up to maybe a faulty bulb or socket, but it is very odd that it occurred on both inner parking light assembly. Fortunately
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz c300. The contact stated the the driver's side fog light cover was fractured. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000.
All of a sudden i received an error message in my display stating check all rear right exterior lights. Nature right side is out. My mechanic looked at said the brown wire is frayed and melted the plastic bulb holder. I researched and found it is a chronic problem.
Rear tail lights have progressively dimmed over time. Wiring harness was melting. Connector to light carrier and taillight wiring was corroded. Repair of corroded wiring, connector, and light carrier was required.
Second incident of all lights suddenly failing and then being restored within three secondsdealer fixed by changing out lighting switch because their database showed similar incidents with other similar cars and changing the lighting switch appeared to cure the problem although no problem could be seen with switch. Although only 3 months out if time on the original warranty mercedes declined to pay for the repair and told me that i should have considered buying an extended warranty. I remonstrated that this was a potentially serious fault and that mercedes should issue a recall -mercedes declined any further action.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. When the ignition was turned to the on position, the instrument panel displayed that the parking lamps failed. The contact attempted to change the parking lamps and observed that they were melted. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
Tail light wiring for 2010 mercedes c300 was replaced under the recall issued in 2014. Tail light wiring is currently experiencing burning/melting due to insufficient ground wire capacity (issue of original recall). Mercedes dealership will not replace the parts under recall procedures and is requiring payment for replacement. Tail lights currently intermittently work but experience total failure of all tail lights (including brake, turn indicator, etc) when not working.
All driver side rear lights went out. There is sign of possible burnt residue on wire and light casing.
Wiring assembly recall. My 2010 mb c300 had a tail light assembly recalled 3 yrs ago due to a fault in wiring assembly. Now i have the same problem - fault in wiring assembly. Now i have to pay $170 + taxes to repair it.
Takata recall i have owned the car for about 1 1/2 years and the recall was from about 2012 i think from looking it up . I have called the hotline many time and got a run around. Was told every time parts would be available within a few months.
Mercedes benz c300w light bulbs are constantly blowing out. Primarily due to the heat accumulation in the headlights. The plastic parts are melting, dry and very brittle which causes bulbs to overheat and blow out.left & right parking lights(4), side lamps(2) and license plate lamp(2) have been changed out at least 15 times per lamp.the dealership suggest i change out the head lamp casing costins approx. $2k with labor.aftermarket $700 plus labor.the service department at three seperate shops have stated this is a common problem with the mb c300.
Tail light assembly burning up again.my 2010 mb c300 4matic sport had a recall to replace both tail light assemblies about 3 years ago.now it is happening again and mb dealer wants $159 just for a diagnostic.problems:dash warning messages started to appeal saying problems with tail light, brake light, fog light, turn signal, reverse lamp...everything is out.light bulbs looked fine but i replaced all bulbs anyway (from autozone parts), worked for a few hours, then warning messages showed up again.replaced all bulbs again.same thing.then one day, messages stopped and everything is working again. Then a few days later, it started again.went to a mb dealer (at chantilly, va) on 10/2/18 who wanted $159 just for a diagnostic test.i instead purchased a new tail light panel (lamp carrier p/n 204-820-15-00-05) at $20 before tax to replace on my own.came home opened up the panel and found a burned wire.it even melted the black plastic housing of wire hardness and a black burned mark on the panel (carrier).please see attached photos.this can cause a car fire.also very unsafe driving because tune and brake lights are not working.shouldn't mb fix this again at no charge?please recall again.
There are two problems that have shown up all at the same time just recently. Over the last several weeks it seems that everyday when i go leave in my car i am getting a new warning message about another light i need to check. At first it was prompting me to check the right rear tail light which appears to be working fine. But now the list has grown to include that tail light, a turn signal light, license plate light and a couple more even though to me it appears that all are working fine with the exception of the license plate light which is truly out. However the warning are listed for all these malfunctioning lights.the second issue is with the power steering. It started making a distressing noise one evening on my drive home, in which i was able to reach my home without trouble. However when i tried to leave the next morning the power steering on the car was completely not working and i was having such a hard time turning the wheel backing out of my drive that i thought it smart not to take it out on the road and pulled it back up into my driveway where it has sat for the last several days. Luckily my son is away at boarding school but he doesn't need his car there so i have had it available to get me to work and back until i had the time to look into the issue with my car which i am doing now.
My car will be parked and engine not running and at any given time the upper front headlight on passenger side and the bottom part of the rear taillight on passenger side will illuminate for no reason. It doesn't matter which position the lights are in. ...updated 04-05-13
The ground wire for the rear brake lights is heating up. Mercedes dealer fixed this, per nhtsa recall #14v-177 but the issue is reoccurring.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. While operating the vehicle, the passenger side rear parking light was very dim. The cause of the failure was not determined. Mercedes-benz of huntington (1103 e. Jericho tpky, huntington, ny) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 90,000.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz c300. While driving 30 mph, the rear passenger side tail light failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the wiring harness melted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 14v177000 (exterior lighting). After the vehicle was repaired, the front driver side parking light failed. The vehicle was diagnosed. The contact was informed that the wiring harness melted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 41,114.
Passenger taillight connector/wiring insufficiently designed for load.wire/connector plastic is melting and causing unsafe conditions.this is a very common problem with 2008-2010 c-class and is frequently noted in mb owner's forums/websites.
My car is always park in the back of my yard.. And i always check around my car regardless of where i am... Drove to work which took about 15 minutes and notice when i got in my car to go to lunch the fog light was out on the left driving side and the right fog log is crack also.. No other vehicles parks in front of me because i park facing the building of my workplace. Took it to the dealer ship she advise that someone burst the fog light out on the left drive side and gave me a quote of $350 to fix for each fog light... Advise couldn't be possible because of how peculiar i am with how and where i park and because i check my vehicle before entering to drive... I use to drive with my fog lights on commuting back and forth to work. The only thing i can see is that it got overheated but how because of the short commute time... Trying to understand.
Connector for the taillights melting onto the housing. Possible ground wire issue. Fire hazard.

Our 2010 mercedes c300 with 24,500 miles car started to sell gasoline appx a week ago.we found out that mercedes has similar problems with their other cars and i believe this is a very serious problem since it involves gasoline.the mercedes dealer stated that our car does not have a recall for this problem even though it has the same problem as the other recalled models.the smell is constant and we cannot even park our car in our garage due to the fumes and strong smell.mercedes of palm spring like to charge us $256 just to look at the car so we took our car to another repair shop and they stated that the fuel tank has a problem as the other models and our car is the 3rd merdeces that they inspected with the same problem that week.at this time mercedes is refusing to repair this on a warranty and as i stated this is a safety issue. I believe this is a very serious safety issue.
Fuel leaking into main cabin. Pool of fuel resting on top of the fuel sending unit located under passenger rear seat. Draining into back of seat area. Particularly noticeable upon new filling of tank or driving on curvy roads.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. A few years ago, the contact detected a fuel odor coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to mercedes-benz of foothill ranch (81 auto center dr, foothill ranch, ca 92610, (949) 354-0112) where it was diagnosed that the rear passenger side fuel fender seal/ seal ring failed. The vehicle was repaired, but the odor recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel filter housing was leaking and the rear padding and lower seat cushion were saturated with fuel and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the entire rear seat was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 108,989.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300w. While driving, the contact noticed a fuel odor throughout the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the fuel odor became extremely strong. Strong smell of gasoline when tank is filled up. This has been an ongoing issue for a few months now. Don't know much about cars so didn't think much of it until i had a couple of people ask why my car smelled like gas. They let me know that it may be a gas leak somewhere.
The vehicle smelled of a gas leak. The issue was mentioned to service advisors but dismissed as a non-issue. The issue persisted causing breathing problems and light headedness. After two service visits the issue was still not addressed. Conveniently after 150,000 miles the service department was able to find the issue, but then stated that it was no longer covered under warranty. Previous times the car was brought in under 150,000 miles they were not able to find the problem.
Strong smell of gasoline when tank is filled up.
Fuel tank leak- smell gas in car and outside car.received notice of airbag recalls and light issue as well.main concern is gas smell emanating from my car.this happens mostly when i fill the tank.
Strong gasoline smell when i fill my tank up and park my car inside my garage. So strong that i worry about explosion due to my water heater with pilot light in the garage. I frequently open the garage door to let the accumulated gas odor dissipate or have to move the car outside. Strong gasoline smell goes away once the fuel level goes down about 1/8 to 1/4. This has been going on since 12/20/2020.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz c300. The contact stated that for the past month, a fuel odor inside the cabin developed. The contact noticed a wet spot on the driveway and upon inspection did not find where the fuel was leaking from. The vehicle was taken to caliber motors mercedes benz of anaheim california and the diagnosis was that the passenger side side fuel sending unit cover and seal were worn out and needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.the vin was not available.
Exactly as described with other models, there was a strong gas odor inside and outside of the vehicle. It worsened after the car was refueled. It got so bad that fumes were seeping into the house from the garage. While driving, all windows had to be down. After researching online, i found out that there was a recall on other mercedes years and models for the same issue. The gas tank gasket is defective. My car is not included in the recall and i must pay to fix the hazardous condition.
Takata recall. After purchasing my 2010 mercedes c-300 i've noticed a gas smell from the rear passenger side but this has gotten worse after i park my car in my garage overnight. The entire garage and vehicle interior smell like gas. I then notice a gas leakage spot from the rear passenger side tire. This happens when i have full tank or half of the tank full of gas. I red about this online i called the dealership but i was told the recall/ extension tank warranty does not apply to my car. Concerning the seat-belt the rear passenger side seat belt is default. It does not buckle
The company and the dealer in frezno ca refuse to replace the air bags and leaky fuel pump
Smelling gas fumes inside the car, has gotten light headed when driving, and my gas gage does not work.
Strong smell of fuel after filling up gas tank 3/4 or more for the past 12months

I went to open my door after i had parked and the driver side door latch broke. So, i had to cut my car back on, roll the window down and pull the latch from outside the door. If you look online this appears t be a common problem with the 2010 c300.
The mercedes benz c 300w4 2010 has a problem with the inside door latch.the vehicle was bought as a certified preowned from the dealer in 2013. It has less than 15000 miles. I took it to the dealer today they knew what was wrong immediately. Cost to repair approx. $1000. Looking on line i found numerous people complaining about the same problem. There is an obvious design flaw that mercedes is not willing to accept. What happens in an emergency if you need to get out of the car and the handle breaks? in my humble opinion this is a safety issue that should be looked into.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. While reversing out of the driveway, the contact heard a loud banging noise coming from the transmission. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 44,905.
Speed dependent front end noise and vibration. Inspection by mb authorized dealer indicates: "front transfer case coming apart". Mb customer service indicates that the problem is a "one off" but offered a 50% discount on repair. Repair cost is $7000. Suspect that this is not a "one off" and the problem is more frequent given the immediate offer of a discount on repair. Failure of the front transfer case at any speed can and most likely will cause wheel lock up, engine failure, loss of power assisted controls (steering and braking), loss of electrical systems (air bags), and possibly created an accident with fatalities.
I got mercedes benz c300 2010 in less than 6 months, the vehicle developed power steering lock issue; the vehicle will not start and got me stranded in a parking lot of a grocery store. I researched the problem online and realized several individuals have had similar issue. I brought the issue to mbusa, they did not deny its a common issue but said based on the history of the vehicle i am not eligible for any relieve on the cost of repair. I feel it is unfair that i will have to pay for something i believe its a manufacturer default. Now i am compelled to pay $1,700 for the repairs.
Transmission has gone completely out at 30,000 miles and mercedes refuses to respond.
Transfer case needs to be replaced
On 12/22/12 at approximately 9pm i was parking my car having arrived at my destination. I had almost finished parking when my mercedes benz c300, 2010 lunched forward without warning and hit the truck in front of me resulting in a chain rection. With that truck smashing into the vehicle infront of it. I honestly believe that the vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own and therefore must have malfunctioned. I went searching and found similar complaints from a couple of other owners of benz c300 2010 model.i called mercedes benz usa and reported and was told that i need to take the car in and pay for it to be diagnosed. They insisted that they have not heard of any similar complaint. I am concerned that this may happen again.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz c300.the contact stated while driving approximately 25 mph, a humming noise emitted from the shift lever under the vehicle and no warning lights illuminated.the failure recurred multiple times.the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis. The approximate failure mileage was 99,000.
Gear shifter will get stuck in park when parked on a slight incline, such as a driveway or small hill. I absolutely have to park on a flat surface if i want to get my shifter out of park. I have to tap on the top of the shifter and continue to try to get it out of park. This can take anywhere from 10-30 minutes and has happened multiple times. Very frustrating and i've only had the car a couple of months. Now i have to put money in to fix it already. Why is there not a recall on these vehicles with this problem? from my research, it seems as though plenty of mercedes has this problem.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz c300. The contact stated that while driving at slower speeds, an abnormal grinding sound was coming from engine without warning. The contact took the vehicle to mercedes-benz of fort washington located at (404 pennsylvania ave, fort washington, pa 19034), where the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective bearing in the transfer case. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the transmission replaced. The contact took the vehicle back to the same dealer to be repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 19v010000 (air bags). The vehicle was inspected and the contact was informed that the subframe was corroded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 96,000. The vin was not available.
While driving the vehicle, began hearing a humming underneath the car thinking it might have been the tires. The sound got louder as the days went on. Took vehicle to be serviced and was told that the problem was the transfer case and that the solution was a new transmission approximately $8000-$10000. Was also advised that other owners are having this same problem yet mb refuses to acknowledge currently.
Tarting making faint noise at 60,000 miles. By 63,000 miles, it was a little louder so i took it in for service. Transfer case and transmission need replacing. This is a mercedes?? not covered by warranty by 10,000 miles, come on! such a disappointment for my a mercedes. This is my second mercedes, will never buy again!!!

On july 18, 2011, i was waiting in a line of traffic for a signallight to change, and as the vehicle in front of me began to move, i took my foot off the brake and my 2010 mercedes benz c300 lurched forward and rearended thevehicle in front of me.the forward motion was very forceful and the impact washeavy. This was unintentional acceleration, as i had not depressed to accelerator and while i am deemed at fault i feel this movement is definitely related to another incident in this vehicle reported on may 21, 2011. Please refer to odi # 10403924. Mercedes benz corp says there is nothing wrong with this vehicle. I would like an investigationto this problem, since there is evidence others have reported the same problem.

Purchased car march 2015 with a 3 year extended warranty. Inside drivers door handle broke (plastic piece inside door i believe).dealer claims warranty does not cover this because it is cosmetic and it will cost me in excess of $1100. To get it fixed.this is a major safety issue, one should not have to open the window and feel for the door handle to open the door.in many situations this could be a matter of life or death.this is just as critical as an air bag in my eye.i believe the dealer should cover this under the warranty, and may even warrant a recall.

Just purchased this vehicle two weeks ago, was at a car wash cleaning the vehicle 4 days ago, two hours later ready to leave and went to start the car and it would not start, only able to lock/unlock vehicle with fab and radio and dash light still worked but car was just dead.had to have it towed twice because the dealership is gated and no where to leave it on a sunday that was safe so towed it on monday morning to park city of dallas (mercedes) and they are working on the vehicle and i have been informed it is the steering problem that is common apparently with this model.i have read so many many complaints about this exact issue.so why are we responsible for this expensive repair when its obvious that mercedes benz messed up they need to correct this problem at their cost not ours.very frustrating and disappointing. I drove my bmw for 22 years and it never left me stranded.i was in a car accident where due to someones negligence my bmw was totaled so thought i would try a mercedes but two weeks into this deal i am not happy and very concerned that i made a terrible purchase....
The steering column module is defective and there needs to be a recall. It causes the car not to start as if the battery is dead but its actually something much more serious and expensive.
On june 9,2019 i was driving going to giant grocery store in west-bard shopping center in bethesda. .in the parking lot i lost control of steering column.hit a concrete pole and passed out.all of my airbags deployed, time was aroundi was driving on city road.from river road to westbard.i suffered brain, neck, chest and knee injuries.
Cam solenoid most c300 will stop turning on all the car does is ask u to take key of ignition.. I searched the issue and there is thousands of people having the same issue. It's not fair to consumers not to have a recall on a part that is defective that cost over a thousand to fix . Please help us resolve this matter
This has been an ongoing problem since i first received my car.i came to find out once in accident 4/30/17 that there were zero airbags in the car at all!this is very unacceptable
Key in ignition, steering wheel does not unlock. Able to get key into run and crank position with no instrument cluster lights turning on. All other electrical features to the car work (radio, power windows, seats, lights). Unable to shift car into neutral without removing gear selector shift cover.
I went to drive my car to test my new wheels i just purchased the day before. I put the key in, it would not start and my steering wheel is locked. I thought it may be my key but after doing some research online, i found out that it's not my key at all and that it's the esl which seems to be a known issues. Thank god my car was in the garage. I'm asking for mercedes-benz to do a recall since this is a common issue. I've only had this vehicle for two months. This is a disappointment.
Does not start, steering not locked,eis/esl issues
I got mercedes benz c300 2010 in less than 6 months, the vehicle developed power steering lock issue; the vehicle will not start and got me stranded in a parking lot of a grocery store. I researched the problem online and realized several individuals have had similar issue. I brought the issue to mbusa, they did not deny its a common issue but said based on the history of the vehicle i am not eligible for any relieve on the cost of repair. I feel it is unfair that i will have to pay for something i believe its a manufacturer default. Now i am compelled to pay $1,700 for the repairs.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. While driving approximately 20 mph, the steering ability became difficult. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 128,650.
Steering wheel lockkeeping car from starting has happen numerous times to me any many people with benz
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. While stationary, the steering wheel seized without warning. It was diagnosed that the eps malfunctioned, which caused the steering wheel to seize. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 82,000.
The contact owned a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. While driving approximately 20 mph through an intersection, the power steering suddenly failed and the steering wheel became difficult to turn in either direction. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into two other vehicles. The driver sustained neck, back, and chest injuries.a police report was taken at the scene. The vehicle was destroyed. A second person was injured from the second vehicle. No further information was available. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 67,000.
I have 2010 mercedes benz c300, my steering lock failed recently. This is a very common failure among c300 models (2008 to 2013). Quite a few cars are vulnerable to this failure around 5 year mark.manufacturer should issue a recall on these parts, as they have a very bad reliability.
The steering wheel got locked while parking the car and the car never starts again.
The esl (electronic steering lock) & the eis (electronic ignition switch) went out at exactly 7 years.my car was parked in my garage and i tired to turn it on and the vehicle would not start.i can here the car trying to crank over but it does not work.there are numerous mercedes benz c300 owners having the same problem (steering lock/column).please issue a recall.thank you.
Electric steering.
My car just left me stranded (at home of all places).i had been having issues that day with the whining noise many have dealt with.i got home from work, and went to take the car out later with my husband, and she's dead.roadside assistance towed her to the dealership.so far, $1450 just to replace the steering wheel lock, then they can start to investigate the whining sound.service advisor says the 2 aren't connected and its a coincidence both the whining and steering lock failure are happening simultaneously????please force a recall, so we can recoup this money.mb is making a ton off of the problem.what if i had been stranded in traffic, or with my children in the car?this is a terrible safety issue, and needs to be addressed by mbusa.
Car wont start, replaced battery, common issue with c300 told by the dealership it would cost $1332 for steering lock to start 5.0 includes if needed to cut out lock pin
On two occasions, with the latest being on 12/11/2018, the vehicle's steering wheel locked completely after i parked it.even though it's been subject to a recall (2010100002), mercedes benz charged me $1255 just to unlock it without repairing the underlying cause.i want my money back because the problem they repaired is part of the recall.
Security system disables ignition due to a failure of the esl (steering lock). Nothing is wrong with the car it just won't start.
Dear sir or madam:on november 26, 2014 i drove to the hospital for which i work. Within 1 mile of my destination, while traveling at the speed of 45 miles per hour i heard a loud high pitched sound that came from my steering wheel and it became somewhat difficult to steer. No vehicle status message ever showed on the malfunction display. I parked the car and called the mercedes benz authorized dealer. The soonest available appt when they could look at my car was on december 1, which was 5 days away. No help whatsoever!!!! i took it to a trusted family mechanic and he said the power steering chamber had been leaking for some time, it was now smoking and needed to be replaced. There was a recall of 85,000 mercedes benz c class and e-class models between june 1, 2009 and february 28, 2010. My power steering chamber was manufactured 02/03/10 (128bar). Kunden-no: a005 486 95 01. Zfls-nr: 7695 955 135. I believe that my vehicle should have been a part of this recall. Furthermore, if i had been on the freeway at higher speeds the possibility of something more dangerous could have happened. I look forward to your prompt attention to this matter, sincerely[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz c300. The contact heard a noise emitting from the steering wheel. After the vehicle was backed out of the driveway, a leak was present. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer. The technician diagnosed that the power steering pump fractured, which caused a leak and damaged the belt. The dealer replaced the power steering pump and the belt. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v598000 (steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.
My car was working completely fine all morning. I went to start it again but would not start at all. I would turn my key and get absolutely nothing. Doors and locks were still working.
Eis , steering lock
On or about 11/24/19,vehicle was parked in front of the house overnight and next morning, the vehicle did not start due to steering being locked electronically. Car did not have any power besides doors opening and would not shift into neutral. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer and service advisor contacted me to inform me that the vehicle locked the seething due to faulty switch. Vehicle was repaired and return to me on 12/4/2019.at this time, i am concerned for my safety due to possibility that the steering might lock while the vehicle is in motion.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. While attempting to restart the vehicle, the electronic power steering seized without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the electronic steering column failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
Srs light came on october 2017. I took my car to mercedes of sacramento . The repair tech stated that it wasn't the airbag. The repair tech said that its in the steering column.i believe it is the airbag. I need this fixed.
The els problem again like in the other mercedez ..i park my car was running good no noise or anything when i was going home dead not turning on the engine ..had to towed to my mechanic and he soyed is the power steering lock
I inserted the key and tried to start the engine, but nothing happened. All lights off, no window power. I took the car to the dealership and there seems to be a problem with the ignition switch. A car with only 60,000 miles with a bad ignition switch?!!! these problem seems to be very common in the 2008-2012 mercedes benz.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. While driving approximately 20 mph, a high-pitched noise was heard from underneath the vehicle. While the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed a lot of power steering fluid leaking. When the contact attempted to make turn, the noise became louder and the steering lost power. The failure was not diagnosed or remedied. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
Steering control lock unit has gone bad many issues car will not start leavesyou stranded many people complaining about it over the internet same situation mercedes really needs to do something about this don't feel safe steering wheel can lock while driving this is not safe
The steering wheel of the car suddenly locked.all electrical shut suddenly.luckily we were close to home not in the middle of a freeway.mechanics in general are not familiar with this issue in the mercedes c300 class.the repairs were astronomical.i checked online and several people had the same issue.mercedes benz does not want to take responsibility for this issue.this issue should be taken seriously!!if it should happen in a freeway could be catastrophic.please look into this matter and see how many people are affected with this and have mercedes benz assume responsibility.i also have the takata recall and nothing has been done!!!!
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz c300. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The contact dispensed power steering fluid into the reservoir, however, moments later, the fluid leaked onto the ground. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
The steering wheel lock is stuck and now my car will not start. This is a known issue with mercedes cars of all makes & models. I put my key in and tried to start it and it failed to start. I thought it was the battery and had it tested and replaced. That is not the issue. The car still will not start and come to find out it is the steering lock motor that has failed. It is a esl failure.
I notices back in 2013- 2014 a recall was sent out because the power steering pump was leaking in the 2010 mercedes benz c-class 300. On 07/01/2020 thats when i notices my 2010 mercedes benz c-class was losing power steering fluid. I notified the mercedes dealership and they pulled up my vin number. She informed me that my car was service. Apparently what ever they fix isn't working anymore. I don't feel safe driving the car is there any way that you can help me with this matter please thank you.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz c300. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start upon turning the key in the ignition. Also, the gears would not change from park into another gear from the gear box. The contact stated that there was a failure with the electric functions of the vehicle when the failure recurred. The vehicle was placed in neutral and towed to an authorized dealer who diagnosed that the steering column needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 88,000.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. The contact stated that the power steering pump was leaking fluid. In addition, the tail lights failed to illuminate while driving. The contact called jackie cooper imports mercedes-benz at (918) 420-9156 (located at 9393 s memorial drive a, tulsa, ok 74133) and was informed that the vin was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact also stated that she received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v081000 (air bags); however, the part needed for the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer and the manufacturer were not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
On approximately 10/06.2014 the driver side door handle on my 2010 mercedes benz c 300 4 matic failed to allow the door to be opened from the inside of the car. On 02/14/2015 the passenger side door handle failed to allow the door to be opened from the inside of the car. In the event of an accident such as fire or submerged in water neither the driver nor the passenger would be able to escape the vehicle.i have been driving over 50 years and have owned 50+ vehicles. I have never had a vehicle interior doorhandle to fail to open from the inside on any vehicle i have ever owned. To have both the passenger side door and the driver's side door to become inoperable within a 6 month period on a mercedes benz seems incredible.
Sufferred transient global amnesiaf or nearly 4 hours or more. Still recuperating.last two years getting letters for takata airbag recalls but nothing has been done, did not know that steering column had issues. I did manufacture recommended service.car has about 48,000 mile on it. It has multiple options upgrades.
The passenger side front door latch was broken and went loose. The passenger cannot open the door from the inside. Imagine if there is a fire or crash and the person cannot get out of the car what will happen. This problem is quite usual according to a web search so i decided to report.
I was driving my 2010 c300, 99,000 miles at approximately 40 mph when i experienced a nearly fatal collision. When i applied the brakes, i experienced a failure of the rear cross-member subframe which caused the rear left wheel to deviate in a such a way that caused the rear of the vehicle to fishtail. I had to fight to regain control of the vehicle and avoid a head-on collision. I drove the vehicle to a nearby mechanic who pointed to a break in the sub-frame where the rear-left tire suspension components attached to the rest of the car. The break appears to have manifested where the sheet metal components were welded to form a bracket in the subframe.i live in a state where annual safety inspections are carried out and the vehicle has passed such inspections with no past indicators of rust. The safety inspection focuses on the structural integrity of components such as suspension and frame. The most recent state safety inspection was carried out on september 2018, at 97,000. Furthermore, at 90,663 miles, mercedes-benz dealer conducted a thorough inspection of the vehicle and did not notice any issues with the subframe, suspension, or any other components of the vehicle.near-fatal, catastrophic failures should not take place on a modern luxury car that is less than 10 years old, unless there is a manufacturing defect. However, mercedes-benz usa refused to consider a manufacturing defect and made the determination without reviewing photos of the structural brake. Note that based on my research, nhtsa id numbers 10504684 and 11023618 speak to similar rust issues to the sub-frame. Please investigate and launch the recall campaign.
Passenger side door handle broke creating a safety issue as passenger could not open door from inside in an emergency.for example, if the car stalls in a dangerous situation requiring immediate evacuation from the car or risk major injury or death (e.g, car fire, stuck on a railroad track, etc.) the passenger would be stuck in the car.lowering the electric windows does not offer enough clearance to reach over the door to open the outside handle from the inside.mercedes requires the purchase of an entire door panel to repair the cheap plastic handle on the interior of the car door (set. $800 for the panel pus labor for a total of $1100).the dealership, and mercedes benz, was well aware of this problem and the cost to repair it, but, hasn't reported it to the authorities as a risk.
Apparently the interior door handles of the mb w204 are failing.it seems to me that this is a safety issue if someone is trapped inside and can't get out.here is a thread that discusses this within a users forum.thank you.http://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w204/465266-c300-2010-broken-inner-door-handles.html.
I am writing you regarding a serious and potential life threatening safety hazard that has been ignored by mercedes-benz. Clearly this is not an isolated problem as i have found this issue has plagued many other mercedes drivers on the internet.on 1 october 2017, the inside passenger door handle malfunctioned and would not open the door. (see attached photo).the passenger door can now only be opened from the outside.when taken to the local mercedes of arrowhead dealer in peoria, az, it was determined that the entire door panel must be replaced, needs to be manufactured and would not be available until nov 2017, then dec 2017 and now feb 2018.the inability to open the passenger door presents a grave safety hazard because if the car is in a accident where the driver door is disabled both the passenger and driver cannot escape from the vehicle.therefore, mercedes should have placed this model on the recall list which it did not and the local mercedes dealer said i am not alone with this engineering malfunction in this model year and perhaps others.the length of time to correct this engineering defect is unacceptable and this situation requires an immediate and concerted investigation because it presents a potential life threatening scenario.
While attempting to exit the vehicle, the driver side interior door handle broke.the vehicle was stationary at the time of the occurence.this is a safety problem.if there had been smoke or fire in the cabin related to an attempt to quickly exit the vehicle and the door handle brakes, it could cause a catastrophic event leading to possible death.it is made of cheap plastic.
I only have 30,000 miles on my 2010 c300. The driver interior door latch broke leaving me unable to open the door.i took to dealer and i even had an extended bumper to bumper warranty till 60,000 miles... The dealer or the warranty would not cover my door latch, stating it is wear and tear... This part is cheap plastic, that is pulled on numerous times a day. Plastic is not durable, especially in states with multiple extremes in temperatures.it was $150 just to remove the door panel by the mercedes dealer to tell me that it would not be covered. They told me that the part is $618 plus labor, making the total close to $1000.i have rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and polymyositis, making it painful to try and reach out an open window to open door by using exterior handle.i recently had a dead battery and needed to be inside my car for safety, but was unable then to open car until help came. I could not physically climb over center console to go out passenger side. Living in a state with extreme temperatures, this could be fatal. After researching my problem, many have had the same issue.17 on this site alone. This is not wear and tear!the handle is cheap plastic, that brakes very easily.please help, this is a very expensive safety repair! i have even heard of some people having multiple door handles on their car break.
Went to exit car and interior driver side door handle broke inside door.cannot exit vehicle.
A brocken rear spring was discovered while the car was being surviced by an independent shop here in northern wisconsin. I was told by the mechanic that replacing springs on mbs such as mine in areas such as here where salt is used on winter roads is not uncommon.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. While driving various speeds, the vehicle became unstable when the brake pedal was depressed. There were no warning indicators illuminated.the vehicle was taken to mercedes-benz of louisville (2520 terra crossing blvd, louisville, ky 40245, (502) 565-4410) where it was diagnosed that the subframe was rusted and fractured. The vehicle was unable to be driven. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 94,000. *dl
Driver side door handle broke.this was not due to excessive force, unusual wear or use, etc.the part can only be repaired by replacing the entire interior door panel.dealer is aware of the problem and knows that the piece is faulty and prone to breaking.the cost to fix it is nearly $1,000 to repair. In order to exit the vehicle, i have to roll down my window, open the door from the exterior, roll my window back up and then exit.this is a major safety hazard if i needed to exit the vehicle quickly due to a fire, accident, etc.when the handle broke, the vehicle was stationary (i had just parked), i went to open the door and there was no movement of the door. There was no sound indicating a break, it simply did not open the door any longer.when researching the problem, i found additional evidence of this being a common issue among other mb owners and they were equally aghast at the fact that this had not been recalled and addressed due to the severe nature of the issue.
After purchasing my vehicle in 2013 the driver inside door latch broke and will not open drivers door. This occurred approximately 3 yrs after i purchased the vehicle. Around 12/16.in order to get out of my vehicle i must roll the window down and unlock door, reach out and open from outside latch. I feel very unsafe in this vehicle in the event i lose power due to wreck, i will be trapped inside this vehicle. I've reported this to mercedes's and when i've tried to order this part, i'm told it's on national backorder !it's very expensive to fix, but i can't even get it fixed because the part is not available.mercedes won't even give me a date when it will be available. After googling this subject online, i've learned there is a huge amount of theses door latches breaking. I'm pleading for help!!
My door handle broke stranding me in my seat. I had to crawl across the seat and exit the passenger side door. The dealer stated that they had fixed 7 so far this year. Safety issue that i can not get out of the car and they refuse to fix the issue.
Door release handle drivers door broke off. Unable to escape from vehicle without rolling down drivers window and climbing out. Dealer well aware of problem, but states it is a wear and tear item and not a safety issue. Will only repair under new car warranty.utr
The piece of plastic that serves as an attachment for the pull cord from the inside door handle broke.this made it impossible to open the front passenger door from the inside.ibelieve this is a safety hazard since the passenger is trapped inside the car and cannot exit easily.in an accident situation, this would be a real hazard.i discussed with local dealer, who advised this happens all the time.
I went to open my door after i had parked and the driver side door latch broke. So, i had to cut my car back on, roll the window down and pull the latch from outside the door. If you look online this appears t be a common problem with the 2010 c300.
Driver's side inner door handle broke. Cannot exit from car and need to open door from outside. Could be a problem in the event of an emergency if one needs to exit a vehicle in a hurry. I believe this is a common problem with mercedes benz from my research.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz c300. The contact took the vehicle to an inspection station and was informed that the frame was fractured and could cause an explosion if the vehicle were driven over a pothole. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that there were no recalls. The contact was referred to a local dealer. The failure mileage was 138,000.
Original tires with 29000 miles........continental tire left front shredded on freeway, total separation of rubber from rim, contacted continental [xxx], was referred to customer and then to warranty and property damage, filed a claim which was rejected after 4 months because i didn't provide the shredded tire. Continental refuses to take any responsibility for their product virtually disintegrating without warning. This is total unacceptable, i have replaced all four continental tires and will never purchase any continental product again.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
I was told today that my car is unsafe to drive because the subframe has rusted so severely that the control arms for both rear wheels have detached from the subframe.a web search (https://www.carproblemzoo.com/mercedesbenz/c300/suspension-problems.php) indicates that my problem is not unique.during a drive yesterday evening, the top dead center (tdc) of the steering wheel started out as it should at the 12:00 position.during the drive, the tdc shifted to the 10:30 position.this morning, as my wife and i drove the car to be inspected, the tdc was at 11:30.i always brought my car to the mercedes dealership, where i purchased the car, for its scheduled a- and b-services.we have never been in an accident in this car. During winter, i frequently took the car to touchless car washes and paid extra for the under-body wash to remove road salts.i am flabbergasted that a 10-year old mercedes should develop such a serious rust problem on a critical structural part that it fails completely.my 15-year old range rover has led a much more demanding life, and it's doing just fine.as of this morning, my c300 has 158,000 miles.
My car made a electric shortage and the car won't turn on so i had to take it to a shop and they told me the car had to be programmed again so it could turn on .
Rear subframe rusted from inside out causing driver side lower control arm mount to break free from subframe. Traveling approximately 40mph but proper evasive maneuvering allowed for safe stopping without incident.
I am the original owner of this car having purchased in on february 01, 2010. Recently, after getting my wife's c class back from a service at the mb dealer, she started to complain about it's strange handling. I went out with her and noticed that while traveling in a straight line under braking the car would swerve severely with the rear of the car oversteering in one direction and the front of the car diving in the opposite direction. I was able to observe the right wheel/tire toeing out under braking with the outside right mirror tilted down. I jacked up the right rear of the car and removed the wheel and found a crack on the rear subframe near a flange holding a suspension link. Under any braking the crack allows the entire wheel/brake assy to steer the car. This fracture of the subframe created a very unsafe driving condition. The car was delivered to mb of wilmington de and inspected by their head tech and a representative of mbcc. I was told that due to the age of the car, 10yrs. 14days, 94k, that mb would not help out with the repair. I then did some research on the mb forum and found a number of owners with newer and older cars having the same problem and mb refusing to fix or acknowledge the problem.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz c300. While the contact was driving approximately 30 mph, when the accelerator pedal was applied there was a delayed response. A loud noise sounded and the front end of the vehicle collapsed.the air bags did not deploy but the warning indicator illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road with caution and the vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer for diagnosis. The contact was waitinga response from the technician regarding the cause of failure. The failure mileage was 6,109.

When trying to exit the vehicle, using the driver interior door handle, the handle no longer engages to open the door.the driver must roll down the window to release the door from the outside to exit the vehicle.in the event of an emergency where the vehicle electrical system was not working, the driver would be unable to leave the vehicle.

Bad esl car completely locked not able to do anything was stranded 30 min from home payed too much money for the car that really sucked.
Takata frontal airbag and another defective part that i had received an alert about over a year ago, but till today's date has not been remedied. As part is not available.
Cam solenoid most c300 will stop turning on all the car does is ask u to take key of ignition.. I searched the issue and there is thousands of people having the same issue. It's not fair to consumers not to have a recall on a part that is defective that cost over a thousand to fix . Please help us resolve this matter
The door handle is broken on the driver side. The driver cannot get out rightaway if there is an emergency. The handle was not forced, it just start moving by itself. Looks life the cable is not atached. This is a safety issue. How come no body is looking at this.
I had just stopped in driveway in my house after a 15 mile drive from my office when i tried to open the door, the handle flapped about but did not engage the lock to open the door. I had to start the car again, rolled down the window (glass) before i could open the door using the out side handle. The local mercedes benz dealer and the mercedes benz usa representative informed that i have to replace the whole driver's side door at a cost of $708 after the local dealer discount. Mercedes benz has installed a plastic handle as a door handle but requiring buyers to purchase a whole door when the plastic handle breaks. Is this allowed? even if this is allowed is it good for the customers? what can you do about this? as far as i am concerned they have lost a four-time mercedes benz customer. But i want others not to get caught in this money-pit. Please help.
Smell in car gave me a severe headache along with nausea and chest pains. There?s been a noxious odor in this vehicle for three years. No one can find the problem. My grandchildren have passed out in the car from it and it is causing me migraines and other issues. I can no longer drive this car. I need a solution.
Notices of recall; scheduled with dealer and never received a call back to replacement. The call smells strongly of burnt plastic since i bought the car. Every single car maintenance person tells me the car emits that smell.
Driver's side inner door handle cable connector broke. Cannot exit car from inside and must roll down window and open door from outside. Could be a problem in the event of an emergency. This is a common problem with mercedes benz on multiple discussion forums.
Inside door handlesshould be recelled due to safety hazard i got trapped in my car and everyone has same issue its a $1600 fix and have to replace door panel
I was driving off the giant food lot today sunday may 22 when a message appeared on the dashboard stating that the ebr, esp, and abs collision prevention is inoperative. The car downshifted to below 10 miles. I live nearby so i drove the carslowly home and will take it to the dealer on monday may 23, 3016.
The door handles are broken on 3 doors causing the door panels to be replaced this really needs to be looked into by mercedes and recalled a mercedes is a high end vehicle and should not have these type of issues
Mercedes key fob not recognized by ignition.car locks and unlocks properly but key fob is not detected by car.key fob battery is brand new.car is immobilized and not usualable.this is unacceptable!
I was entering theontario south bound on ramp to the i 15 freeway , in my 2010 c300 mercedes benz, when the engine surged to 6000 rpms and i let up on the gas, coasted, and when i applied the accelerator, it surged again. This happened 3 times, and each time i coasted until i could get off the freeway at the next off ramp.i then applied normal pressure to continue and the car proceeded in a normal manner, so i drove to a shopping center and started to pull into a parking space when the engine accelerated again to 6000rpms, and i flew over a planter area, removing my foot from the accelerator and missing a tree and a pole. I came to a stop by making a hard left turn and braking so i wouldn't hit the wall of the building.there was damage to my tires and wheels and the dealer, after having the car in the shop for over a week, says there is nothing wrong with it.this vehicle has 5700 miles on it, and is under warranty, but the company would nothonor warranty by saying they couldn't find anything wrong. My insurance had to pay for damage caused by the unintended acceleration of this vehicle.i am now afraid to drive this car, because i have fear this will reoccur, and someone may be seriously hurt.
The contact owns a 2010 mercedes benz c300. While driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently without warning. The vehicle failed to slow down and crashed into a curb. As a result, the two rear seat passengers sustained minor lacerations. A police report was filed and no medical attention was required. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the front end body damages were repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 31,935. The vin was unavailable.
I called mercedes benz dealership to make appointment, they took my information 6 months a go with out any answer the fix the recall problems

Original tires with 29000 miles........continental tire left front shredded on freeway, total separation of rubber from rim, contacted continental [xxx], was referred to customer and then to warranty and property damage, filed a claim which was rejected after 4 months because i didn't provide the shredded tire.
Issues associated with takata air bag has not been addressed.
