Takata recallsafety risk:your passenger-side airbag is affected by this recall based on the defect decision of tk holdings, inc. (takata). Under certain circumstances during a crash that necessitates frontal airbag deployment, the defect in your passenger-side airbag inflator may cause the airbag to explode during deployment and could result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, possibly causing serious injury or death.unitl today's date there is no remedy for this airbag problem of my vehicle from mercedez benz and would like to get a replacement of the car bought back.

I have been having constant issues with the steering and airbag lights going on. I was also in a bad rear end wreck in 2016 and the airbags did not deploy. I have been calling santander consumers about the issue and they don't care and are still making me pay my more. The mercedes dealer has said that the recalls are pending and they do not have the parts to fix the issue. So i have stopped making payments because i have a toddler and will not drive a dangerous car and the car was recently repossessed last week. The airbag deploy lights constantly stay on indicating they are not working and the steering keeps locking up. It happens when the car is parked and in motion.

Takata recall i bought my 2013 mercedes c250 used in 2016 in rochester ny. The car was originally sold as a new car in florida and was there for it's first three years. This puts me at a higher risk level for a dangerous air bag. I believe your system only tracks current location and does not take into account the cars history. I am in a zone c but the car has significant time in zone a. I am requesting that i be given priority for the replacement air bag. My car should have been serviced with the rest of the zone a cars in 2017. It is now early 2019 with no resolution in sight. My local md dealer has given me no satisfaction on this issue and appears helpless to make things right.

Hello,my c250, 2013 mercedes benz is the subject of manufacturer recall number: 2018030004, and nhtsa recall number: 18v043. This is in regards to the takata air bag defect. My mercedes benz dealership sent me over ten (10) recall notices in the mail and via emails. This has been going on for months now, and despite several recall notices being received. "takata recall".i received a "important safety recall notice" from mercedes-benz usa, dated november 2017 stating that my 2013 mercedez-benz c250 was being recalled due to defective "takata air bags".i contacted my local mercedez-benz dealer (mercedez of orlando) and they told that they would contact me when replacement parts are available.i received a second "important safety recall notice" from mercedez-benz usa (dated february 2018) stating that i should contact my local mercedez-benz dealership immediately to have the "takata airbags replaced.i contacted my local mercedez-benz dealer (mercedez of orlando) and they told me that the replacement parts were still not available and they will call me when they are available.today (07may2018) i received a letter from my local mercedez-benz dealer (mercedez of orlando) telling me that my 2013 mercedez-benz c250 has a "safety recall issue" due to defective takata airbags and i should contact the service department at (855) 456-8774.i contacted the service department of mercedez of orlando and they told me that they don't have the replacement parts and they will contact me as soon as they have the parts.conclusion:it has been 18 months since i received the first "safty recall notice" from mercedez-benz usa and i still haven't had my "recall issues" fixed.this is totallt unacceptable.i am driving an "unsafe" vehicle and is under a "mandatory recall" and my local mercedez-benz dearler (mercedez of orlando) is jerking me around and refusing to fix my vehicle.if i get hurt or injured in a car accident due to these "safety recall issues" who is liable?

I just got off the phone with mbusa customer service about the takata recall. In the letter sent out, it states that 'a passenger- side inflator explosion during deployment could result in sharp metal fragments striking the front passenger or other occupants, possibly causing serious injury or death.' but that there are no parts available to fix this possible dangerous situation if it happens to occur. I told the phone representative i feel unsafe driving my car, especially with my son with me and asked if mb can offer me a rental car until the parts are available to fix the recall. She said mb at this time is not in the position to offer rental cars. And i replied ' you are saying that mb is not willing to give me a rental car while you have sent out a recall stating i can be in danger but are unable to fix the problem?. And she repeated that mb is not in the position to offer rental cars at this time. I feel like there should be something mercedes should do. I understand mb is sending out the recall notices to save themselves if something does happen to a driver due to the recall, and i am assuming they are hoping customers just disregard the notice. If a customer, such as myself feels unsafe because of this recall and if mb is not going to resolve it now, then what are my options ?

Mercedes recall 17v627 was issued saying "no concern unless srs light illuminates."mine did. I went to arrowhead mb in peoria who wanted to charge me $175 to diagnose and $400 to pull the bumper saying they were sure that it wasn't the recall causing the srs light to come up but needed to pull the bumper to be sure.i had another mechanic with a computer plug into the mb and could find no other cause.i believe mb was trying to illegally recoup their labor cost for fixing a recall.i would not allow them to charge me.my husband was out of state working on a trial and i wanted for him to come home and test his car with the same recallhis vin is [xxx] and the car required regular service and mb tried to upcharge him $3500 for work that didn't need to be done we believe to recoup the labor in fixing a recall.we leased these cars and then bought them outright from arrowhead both at once and service has steadily declined and the unnecessary upcharges both at once, lead us to believe they are trying to recoup for fixing a recall.my best guess is the 400 was taken in march of 2018.i cannot find the date in my email.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I received a recall notice from mercedes about the takata airbags. When i called the company to see when replacements will be available they stated they did not know so i called the auto safety hotline. They told me not for a year due to my model is 2013. I then called mercedes back and said that is not a reasonable amount of time and would like a loaner vehicle until mine is fixed and safe. Mercedes stated they are not giving loaner vehicles and encouraged me to keep driving this vehicle since they have not have any deaths. This is not acceptable to me and i would like a loaner or replacement vehicle. I did some research and there are reported accidents with their vehicles having airbag issues and injuries have been reported. Not having any reported deaths does not make my car safe, since when does someone have to die in order for a comp[any to acknowledge and provide their customers with a loaner or safe vehicle replacement.

Head on collision with another vehicle and the front end of a brand new 2013 mercedes c class was destroyed. Vehicle was less than a month old. Airbags did not deploy and i wonder how that could be when the entire front end of the vehicle was smashed in. Mercedes pride their vehicles on safety and i'm very concerned that their new models may not live up to that standard. Airbags should have deployed in this accident to minimize injury or death. These new models are slowly taking to the streets and should be investigated to see if there is warrant for an airbag recall. Mercedes needs to be aware of this because they will be distributing these vehicles all over the globe. Not much is available on a 2013 model and this is a vital time to investigate before the masses have these vehicles where major injuries or death may occur. I feel lucky to have walked out with a concussion and i hope this investigation can prevent anyone else from future serious injury or death.

Mercedes benz has recalled my vehicle, however, refusing to repair it as they claim there is no fix yet available to the passenger's side front airbag.can you assist in getting mercedes to take action in getting this vehicle repaired?i ahve been patiently waiting for more than one year to get this issue resolved.

Takata recalli called my local mercedes benz dealer who stated that in their system i had no air bag recall on my vehicle. I entered my vin # on the airbagrecal website it showed i did?mercedes benz dealer is clearly not claiming responsibility. Rep told me that the letter was sent to all owners of mercedes benz cars and that my car does not have an recall? i don't agree with her and would like to file a complaint due to non-assistance and negligence on mercedes benz dealer end for not looking into my vehicle more. The recall for the airbag issued a warning of safety so i'm unpleasantly dismayed at the fact that the mercedes benz rep would dismiss my concern so nonchalantly to discuss a software update notice she did find in her system which i was due for?i currently have a airbag light on in my vehicle which is alarming and worries me a bit to say the least. I would like some action to take place in getting this issue resolved. The dealer should be offering to take a look at all mercedes benz customer vehicles to ensure airbag is not installed and everything is okay?

The dealership told me they do not have the parts to fix the airbag recall

I was advised 2 plus years ago by delray beach, fl.mercedes benz dealer that an airbag recall was in effect on my mercedes benz. I have visited the dealer, now owned by auto nation, multiple times only to be told parts were (still) not in stock. I subsequently corresponded with the ceo ag daimler, stuttgart, germany. His first response to me was it's not daimler ag's problem rather mercedes benz usa. In my second letter to ag daimler i reiterated my plea that my cars value continues to decline & i can not trade with an open recall on my vehicle. Daimlee's ceo responded, not his problem & he had sent a letter of my concern to mercedes usa. I receiver a call from mercedes usa saying it was not their problem either. I was told this person it is the "fault" of the nhtsa saying it regulates when a certain vehicle make, model & year can be repaired or replaced. If true, you, as typical of goverment agencies, are putting my family & millions of other persons at risk. As well you are responsible for my vehicles decline un value & my ability to sell or trade it for the value it would have were it not for the faulty airbag system not yet, (2+ years) being repaired. Shame, shame, shame on you.and now the new insult as per my mechanic that my car's suspension system is bad with only 60,000 miles. Lastly, the driver's seat rapidly deteriorated . Took it to mb dealer who told me it was 4 months out of warranty & they gave me an auto fabric repair's name. It cost me $260.00 to repair the center panel, approximately, 6 x 16 inches.i am sick & tired if daimler ag, mercedes benz usa & now apparently you, the us government is responsible for the 2 + year hold-up in my car's airbags replacement putting my family at high risk of injury or death is disgusting.

I have several saftey recalls and performance recalls.right now my car is not operable due to these recalls.there is no dealer on my island.this vehicle was purchased brand new from hawaii and shipped to guam. Takata recall. We have been receiving recall notices since june 2016. Each notice states the manufacturer has no parts to repair the issue and no timetable on when parts will be available. We purchased the vehicle as a certified pre-owned car. Had we known about this major safety issue we would not have spent so much money on purchasing the vehicle. When we attempt to trade the vehicle in we are being lowballed due to the open safety recall.

Mercedes recall 17v627 my wife has a matching c250 and filled with you mentioning my vin as well.you can find her information under your complaint 11149647.when i returned home from out of state work, she told me the story of her attempt to have the recall repaired the criteria of "concern" was having the srs light come on which it did in her car.when she got to arrowhead mb in peoria, they wanted a $175 dx fee plus $400 to pull her bumper to poke around to see if a loose plug were the problem, and she refused to pay it believing they were simply trying to recoup labor costs of fixing a federally mandated recall.we decided to use my car's routine service as a test as it is also under recall.not only did they want the maintenance fee, but another $3500 for work that i did not accept.i went to another mechanic who said the work absolutely did not need to be done at that time and we both now believe that arrowhead is falsely inflating or directing customers in an attempt to recoup labor costs of fixing a recall.my recall was repaired.this is now two times and i guarantee we will not be back with mercedes in the future, but this is a crime and we want it investigated so no other owner falls for this bait and switch.

Takata recallin a letter dated february 2018 i was notified by mercedes benz that my c250 sedan had a defective airbag that would need replacement. The letter went on to say that parts were not yet available but i would be notified when they became available in 2018. Some time later, the mbusa (mbusa.com) website published a repair schedule indicating that parts for my car would not be available in 2018 but would be in early 2019. Now the mbusa website says that the expected time for repair parts is april 2020. This is completely unacceptable because the car will be over seven years old at that point. That is less than the amount of time that it took for the first faulty airbags to begin killing and maiming drivers and passengers. My car is in priority group 9. The nhtsa documentation shows that manufacturers should have acquired sufficient parts for repair of pg 9 cars by june of 2018, but in a letter owners, the ceo of mercedes says that this is out of his control. It is my opinion that mercedes benz is out of compliance with 49 usc 301 and that action should be taken to cause them to follow through with the required repairs in a timely manner.

Takata inflators-i currently have 2 recalls on my car; one 10/05/17 nhtsa 17v627 and other one from 1/10/18 #18v043 with the airbags. Neither one has a remedy yet and i was told this weekend at the dealer to not let anyone sit in the passenger side due to danger. This is not an option for me. I was also told the earlier recall is also dangerous yet no eta on repairs. I am single parent with college student as well as handicap mother in her 80s ... I need this fixed now.....just to be told i will be contacted when there is a repair is not an answer. I am terrified to drive the car and have no options on this. Please help put my car in priority line for repair or else i should have lkq loaner until it is repaired. My car suffered flood damageat 4 months of age in 2014 and i am very concerned parts were compromised that could affect this even more! (the car was purchased in south florida and we moved to ga 2015 thus high humidity exposure)

Takata recall this recall has now been open for three years and four months with no proposed resolution.as a florida resident owner of an affected vehicle, i can only assume that the condition worsens over time, and that the passenger airbag at some point (soon or presently) becomes a greater risk of degredation and exolosive deployment than of passenger protection.may we at least instuct the dealer to disable the airbag temporarily (without cost to us) until a "fix" is available?

Recall on my car is still waiting to be fixed. I bought this car brand new in april 2013. Mileage to date is only 22, 271 miles. I am now back in canada but could not bring my car to canada because there is an outstanding recall. In may 2018, the recall on steering was fixed. Because i do not live in california anymore, it is in a garage wasting away. I only usse the car in my yearly visits to check on it. Last 2018, i used the car for less than 1,000 miles. In 2019, i have not used the car. Last feb 2020, i requested a friend to have my car checked at an mb dealership (fletcher jones in fremont, ca). They replaced the whole steering mechanism because it was leaking oil profusely. I complained that since the recall on the steering was only fixed in may 2018 and used the car less than 1,000 miles, how can the steering mechanism damaged as such. Also, although the car is almost 7 years old, the total mileage on the car is only 22. 291 miles. Is it possible that there is a manufacturer's defect in this part? on account of the fron passenger airbag recall not yet being fixed, i left my car in california. It was scheduled to be fixed in 2019 but was moved to april 2020. I have wasted so much money in this car but am not enjoying or benefiting from it. I pray that the airbag recall in this car be finally fixed this coming april as i have decided to drive it from fremont, ca to toronto, canada this coming first week of may with a co-driver. I am feed up spending so much money on a car i am not using and do not benefit from. Please help me get the airbag fixed before i drive it to toronto canada from stockton, ca , a distance of more than 2,600 miles, exposing myself and my co driver to high risk of not having a proper working airbag.

I have a nhtsa recall (18v043) - manuf. Recall # 2018030004 on my 2013 mercedes c250.my complaint is that the recall was announced over two years ago (on jan. 10, 2018), and my car still says "recall incomplete, remedy not yet available." my complaint is that the manufacturer (mercedes-benz) has not offered a timely remedy. My concern is, first, safety, but as important -- i am not able to sell this car with an open recall. Buyers all have only offered a "diminished value" offer because of the open recall with "remedy not yet available."these dealers should be legally required to address these issues in a timely manner. I've called two dealerships in the houston area (greenway and clear lake), and they won't even give me a timeframe for the repairs. In the meantime, i can't sell this car until it happens.i am very frustrated by mercedes-benz's poor response time in dealing with this (both in notifying me of the original recall, and in making a plan for doing the repairs in a timely manner.)

Takata recall appears to have become a bad joke. It has been 16 months since receiving a letter from mercedes benz acknowledging the danger of our airbags needing replacement and being a part of the takata recall (feb 2018 to june 2019). Mercedes benz has their notification of this recall, on their own mbusa website as jan 10, 2016 (nhtsa recall number 18v043). Mbz has stated the status of this recall as "recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available." since a very long time, with no apparent changes or updates. It is becoming clear that mbz has no intention of fulfilling this recall, and apparently quite content to leave the passengers and drivers of their vehicles in danger of injury, maiming, and/or death from a repairable problem that is well known for quite some time now.

I am writing because mercedes has failed to provide a remedy for a recall notice dated october 16, 2017, over 1-1/4 years ago. Takata recalli am very concerned and scared to be driving my car. This recall has been going on for months and nothing has been done in a timely manor. The fact that there is a warning that while driving with this malfunction may cause serious injury or possibly death is concerning. I've been experiencing a hesitation when accelerating in my 2013 mercedes benz c250.the back seat belts stopped working.the passenger airbag light all of the sudden now states it is off.

I have a pending recall and contact the mercedes benz but they said this recall will not be fixed until september of 2019. Even they say is safe to continue to drive this car, i would like to trade-in, but because i have this recall open, i am having my car depreciated by at least $2,000. I would like to have this recall completed asap or have some compensation by mercedes benz due to the fact that i don't feel safe to keep driving the car as is.

My car burnt yesterday morning on my way to work, no warning, nothing noted. Just started smoking and then flames came up and burn the whole front end

The day in which my car stopped working, prior my vehicle was operating properly no issues presented. The ignition started without any interruptions or issues. I drove my car to various locations the day i encountered my issues. I went out to my car which was stationary, parked at my residence and pressed the push start button and it would not power on. After numerous attempts, i called aaa roadside assistance to check if it could possibly be my battery, but to our surprise the battery was perfectly fine. I had my vehicle towed to my mechanic who then informed me that it was my electronic ignition switch that was broken, and he stated he was not experienced in replacement and that he'd refer me to a mercedes authorized mechanic who would be able to help me. After having my vehicle towed to the next mechanic they then did a thorough diagnosis on my vehicle in which they informed me that it was my electronic ignition switch and that they had been getting many mercedes c 250 makes in that had the same issue, and then stated they don't know why there wasn't a recall on that part because it's a major issue which is difficult to fix. I am asking that mercedes be responding for this defective part that has been put in their cars, and costs an arm and leg to fix which is very unfair. I keep up with the maintenance of my vehicle so this should not had happened.

Takata recall, grounding, electrical.

As i sat in my vehicle waiting for the traffic light. I felt a sudden hit on my head. At that moment i was confused, and thought someone had rear ended me. So like anybody would, i pulled over only to find out that the headrest on my 2013 mercedes benz c250 had came apart. It seems like the plastic insidetore apart from the springs causing pressure for it to deploy.

I was on the 99 freeway driving normal speed and hit brakes to take the denair exit. The car sped up! like turbo power! the speedometer was at 90 mph as i flew through a red light at top of the ramp! i had to continue down ramp back on freeway. Pushing and pushing on brakes but nothing happened! next ramp was a bit steeper , so tried again to slow car down! it started to slow and i was able to put car in neutral as it came to stop and i powered the car off. I was approximately 50 miles from home and had to be towed to mercedes of stockton. After their repair department checked my car, they found the brake booster was bad and the turbo pipe hose was torn( due to wear and tear). I had previously (2 months earlier)had my car in for complete check up by the stockton, california dealership and nothing was detected. I feel this a safety issue! i could have been killed! also i believe this to be manufacture default, the cost to fix is $2,400, and i always bring my car in for regular serving. Thank you

I was experiencing an engine stall when starting my vehicle and a rattling like noise coming from the engine as well in early january 2018. My engine light sensor came on about 2 days later. I took my car to mb long beach and was advised that i needed to have the camshaft adjusted which would cost me approximately $4k+. It was further explained that this issue was due to a crack in the shaft and the oil is not being properly dispersed. After further investigation on my own behalf, this is an engine manufacturer defect and there are several consumer complaints regarding this same issue. After calling mb usa several times, i finally received a call back stating, i could receive a "1-time, 10% off the total cost of the repair. If this was a consumer related vehicle repair negligence then the consumer covering the expense would be the right thing to do, but when this is a defect from the manufacturer and mb is aware of it then this expense should be one that should cover.

Intermittent "inoperable mode" illuminated since mileage 41974. Car decelerated on the highway from 75mph to 10mpl nearly causing an accident. Pulled over, turned off vehicle, was completely shaken up. Waited about 5 minutes, restarted and it was normal. This has happened 13 times in the 6 months of ownership. Dealer was unable to duplicate issue. Vehicle again duplicated the same problem, i made a left turn, attempted to accelerate on a city street and it began showing the "inoperable mode" and check engine light again. A month later, the engine was making a loud noise like rocks in a dryer. Pulled over immediately away from traffic. I contacted the dealer, they said to "drive it in". On the way, the car broke down. Called mercedes customer care, they sent a tow truck. Car is under warranty until 50k, and is at 49404. While my 2013 c250 is in the shop, they issued me a 2016 c300 with less than 550 miles on it.after driving for only 5 days, it also has the check engine light and says "collision prevention assist plus inoperative". I notified the service advisor and he will not return my messages to have another vehicle issued. This is clearly a manufacture defect that mercedes is blatantly ignoring. This is stressful and heartbreaking that i have owned the vehicle 6 months, with a mountain of "manufacturer warranty" issues, they are asking me to pay the $2500 if it is deemed "not warrantable". So i am supposed to trust mercedes to be honest at this point? the only contact i have received since is that they will be charging me $2595.00 in labor to disassemble my engine so that they have a "concrete answer" as to if my vehicle will be warrantied. It is under warranty and all services have been done as mercedes advises. For mercedes to not warranty it would be a direct violation of the manufacturer warranty and further prove their negligence.

Car lost power, didn't overheat. Found out the tension and timing and heads need replacing after 89,000 miles

I was on i-95 and the car just startedshaking and wouldnot accelerate, very dangerous. The car also has a dangerous lag when trying to accelerate.i was trying to accelerate making a u turn to on coming traffic and the car wouldn't accelerate nearly causing a catastrophic life threatening accident.i have had my car at the dealership for 3 months trying to fix the problem and to date every time i get it back the same thing happens.my paperwork is with my car that has been at the dealership since for 3 months.

85000 miles, regular oil changes and maintenance, did not drive for 8 months, after 1 month of driving, engine would not start at times and soundedstrange when crankingengine would eventually start and run o.k., took vehicle to dealership after 2nd occurence, acceleration has always lagged since purchased-turbo lag ??? dealership said problem was internal with cam tensioner possibly

I was driving on the highway doing around 70 mph and all of a sudden my car lost power and start shaking acting like it didn't want to go forward, i was afraid that it was going shut down on me and a lot of cars was coming behind me i was so afraid i was going to be in a bad accident, i was able to get over and come to a complete stop without incident, but i was afraid the car was going to shut off on me and not start back up but i manage to make it home because i was only a few miles away.the next day i took the car to be diagnose because the check engine light came on i went to the automobile repair shop to have it diagnose and the code came up for camshaft position sensors i had them replaced, then my car started hesitating to start and the check engine light would come on and then go off while i was drivingand i would drive it for about 30 mins and the check engine light would come back on again stay on for a little while and go back off again, i took it to the dealership again and i was inform that it was the timing chain but i didn't believe it, because i had just replaced the sensors and the spark plugs andi didn't have that many miles on it and i have only had the car for 3 1/2 years, i still didn't believe itthen my car started to hesitate on starting up and loosing power when i was driving it again, so i took it to another automobile repair shop that specialize in fixing mercedes benz and it came back with the same diagnose check engine light is due to timing chain, timing chain need replacing. I have already replace 2 camshaft position sensors on this car. I was told it will cost me around 5000.00 to fix it. I have always had my car maintenance service on time, i can't believe that this car is having this type of problems. I am so afraid to drive this car.

I was told by the mercedes benz service center i take my car to that the timing chain and cam adjusters failed. I have a mercedes benz 2013 c250, with only 58,000 miles on it. I have my car serviced on time. I was driving my car on the highway, thank god i stopped at a local drugstore and when i tried to turn my car back on, only the lights will come on. It would not start up, and i had to have my car towed to the mb hunt valley service center where i get my car serviced. The service rep told me i had to have the timing chain, camadjusters, and lower guide rails replaced costing $6000. There is a extended warranty on the camadjusters which took the price down to 3600 which is still pricey. Which makes me wonder shouldn't the timing chaing also be under extended waranty. This type of event should only happen at least after the car reaches 100,000 miles. I have called mercedes benz customer service and awaiting for someone to call me back to see if they can assist. Awaiting a response as of 8/2/2021. I called after getting diagnoses which was 7/30/21. I have read numerous other reports of this same exact issue happening to other people.this is a extreme risk and safety matter that needs to be addressed by mercedes benz as a recall. Being newer model cars, the timing chain and camshaft adjusters should not fail, and most definitely not fail at 58,000 miles. Please look into this before someone gets hurt.

I have several saftey recalls and performance recalls.right now my car is not operable due to these recalls.there is no dealer on my island.this vehicle was purchased brand new from hawaii and shipped to guam. The dealer is requesting us to ship back the vehicle to fix these recalls.which will cost me about 10,000.00 for shipping.how do i go about this.

Check engine light code, p0340, camshaft position sensor.problem includes difficulty starting car, engine knock upon start, and misfires accelerating to pass at highway speeds.

The contact owned a 2013 mercedes benz c250. While driving approximately 15 mph, the contact crashed into another vehicle. As a result, the front of the vehicle caught fire. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 29,500.

The contact owned a 2013 mercedes-benz c250. While driving 30 mph, a foul odor entered the cabin of the vehicle and smoke was seen. The contact exited the vehicle and the engine caught fire. A police report was not filed. The fire department extinguished the fire. The contact suffered smoke inhalation that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to an unknown mercedes-benz dealer in palm beach, florida and deemed destroyed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,200.

As i was driving to come to a stop at a light, the engine light came on and the engine stopped in the middle of road. Luckly i wasn't on major highway or else it would have been a major accident. After reading farther reports this incident has happened numerous of time for the same issue and as what happened to me. Mercedes did not do any recalls or put out any safety notices to customers. This is major safety violation and i feel that they did not think about the safety of the customers. I contacted the mercedes headquarters and notified them of this issue and they had no answer for this problem. I felt my life was in jeopardy because of the problem with the manufacturing of the mercedes engines as well as the other customers that have brought up this complaint. They would not fix the problem instead offered a lousy incentive of $1000 toward new vehicle or $500 toward a certified preowned vehicle. Then they also charged me $800 to diagnose the problem. Then to tell me after that that it might not fix the problem and recommend a new engine. Why should i pay for a engine that goes out at only having 110000 miles on it. A top class car dealer and their engines go out at 110000 miles. Totally unacceptable.

When the vehicle is stationary, it takes four clicks to turn over. After turnover, it idles rough, and makes a rattle noise around 1500 rpm. Mercedes ran a diagnostic and said it was a p034062 code and recommended replacing camshaft adjusters and camshaft adjuster magnet and seals. The cost was $4500. This is a very common problem in these mercedes and i believe their should be a recall as this could cause engine damage while driving or pose a significant safety issue.

At 46,000 miles my mercedes benz c250 began hesitating to start and then after starting made a slight grinding noise for 3 to 4 seconds.after the car had hesitated to start for several days the engine light then came on.when taken in for repair i was told the cam sensor as well as the cam gears needed to be replaced.i have done all scheduled maintenance on this vehicle and am a very conservative driver, as this car has very low miles for being a 2013 model.after a brief online search i found countless complaints from other consumers that had the exact same problem with their mercedes benz c250.if the vehicle is out of warranty the dealerships are unwilling to perform this work at any kind of discount because a formal recall has never been made for this engine model.this repair ranges in price from $4,000 to $5,000.this seems like an issue that urgently needs to be looked into as many consumers are being left to pay this excessive bill for an issue that i believe mercedes benz knows is a systemic problem with the engine in the c250 model.

Constant issues with vehicle acceleration.for example when try to accelerate from a stop the car hesitates for several seconds even with significant pressure on gas pedal then suddenly accelerates in a very jerky fashion.this is very dangerous when trying to pull out into traffic or make a left hand turn crossing multiple traffic lanes. Have also had similar problems when car is traveling on highway and need to accelerate quickly, the car hesitates for several seconds and then jerks into gear and speeds up.i don't drive my car that much because i work from home and take cabs on weekends when going out but had a friend drive the car with me to see what they thought and they said they definitely noticed the issue. I am taking my car to the dealership to see if they will make repairs but i have a feeling like others who have submitted a complaint i will be told nothing is wrong.i just happened across this website and thought i would see if the problem was just my car but 11 of 13 complaints are the exact same issue as mine.why hasn't the ntsb issued a recall? does someone or a bunch or people have to die first??

On my 2013 c250 only with 55k miles, a rattle noise begins on the engine(sounds like a diesel engine) the exhaust crankshaft adjus, central valve& crankshaft tensioner defaults) there where 3 cars all 2012 c250, 2013 c250 in the mercedes-benz dealership (mercedes-benz of coral gable with the same issue) this is a clear and well stated and recorded cases in which mb usa should accept the defect and recall this issue, many people also in the record have payed $4-5k for this common issue.finally, nhtsa should look into this matter and force mb usa to own this well too common defect. I am obligated to ask for loands to pay for something that is a clear manufacture defect

The timing mechanism commonly fails in 2012-2013-2014 cars and the engine may stutter or totally fail. The local dealer wants $7820 to repair the condition in a car which had less than 58000 miles. The warranty is over at 50000 miles. The failure is common and there are many complaints on the internet and.many of the independent repair shops know about the problem. I can fax more details

While driving to grocery store attempted to accelerate from a stop and vehicle bogged down (decelerated before accelerating) and the violently took off.. Have taken vehicle 8 times to different mercedes benz dealerships in the atlanta area only to be told that its the way vehicle is and to live with it. On many occasions while attempting to turn across traffic vehicle just stays in place when accelerator pedal is depressed and then it just bolts wanting to let the rear end loose. Very unsafe characteristic of this car. Regret this purchase tremendously. Also many many complaints about the 2012-2014 c250 and nothing is being done.

Engine start nocking while driving and then stopped ,took it to mercedes dealer , over 10000.00 to fix it , cam shaft adjuster failed and damaged cylinder head.

My car has 47k mileage and the check engine light was on a few weeks ago. The error code was p0340 camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction. The mercedes benz dealer technicians checked the check and found that the issue was caused by timing chain and they had to replace it. I did research online and found lots of mb c250 2012 and 2013 cars with similar mileage (40k to 60k) had exact same issue as mine. It can cause cranky start, failure to accelerate while driving and losing power. It can be extremely dangerous when car with this issue on the road, especially on highways.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2013 mercedes-benz c250.the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v043000 (air bags). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the passenger air bag warning indicator was illuminated. On one occasion, while the contact's vehicle was stopped, another vehicle crashed into its rear driver's side. The contact stated that the headrests detached due to the impact. The air bags did not deploy. The contact received injuries to the neck and back, which required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was able to be driven. After the crash, the abs, air bag, and several other unknown warning indicators illuminated. Also, the brakes failed to operate properly and the vehicle began to stall. The contact took the vehicle to mercedes-benz of houston greenway (located at 3900 southwest freeway, houston, tx 77027, 713-489-211) where the brakes were repaired; however, the failures still occurred. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

Whenever i accelerate engine light comes up and it turns into limp mode.this is a serious safety issue, alot of other people with the same vehicle as me are having same issues. This has happened more than 3 times, this is a error in high pressure fuel pump.

The contact owns a 2013 mercedes benz c250. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the check engine light suddenly illuminated and the vehicle would not properly accelerate. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the engine camshaft adjusting gear was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 92,000.

My car burnt yesterday morning on my way to work, no warning, nothing noted. Just started smoking and then flames came up and burn the whole front end

Whenever i want to speed up to pass a vehicle or/and to enjoy a rapid accelarating engine light comes up and it turns into limp mode.this is a serious safety issue

2014-08-04: engine light came on, vehicle would not accelerate past 80 km/h and the engine shut off - driving in traffic.2014-08-05: brought vehicle to 550 terminal avenue. They said it was just the fault-pump and that it was safe to drive. They advised me that they had to order the part from germany. Vehicle was later returned the same day. (23505 km)2014-08-06: the vehicle engine shut down while driving out the drive way, so i had it towed to 550 terminal avenue. (23514 km). They replaced a throttle actuator.2014-08-12: vehicle was ready for pick up. Vehicle would not start. Battery replaced.2014-08-14: picked up vehicle. Then experienced a low accelerating after braking. Went with the foreman for a road test and he agreed that there was a delay when accelerating and that it felt like its going to stall while in "drive".2014-08-20: they said it was caused by 13 % ethanol in fuel/ software. There's a pinging sound. But i buy the same gas every time 94 octane from chevron.i had a verbal agreement saying that my car was safe to drive and for me to come back to mercedes benz with a new tank of gasoline to see if i would still have the same issues as it was stated that the issue may have been cause by using gas with 13% ethanol/software.

The contact owns a 2013 mercedes-benz c250. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken for an air bag replacement at dick dyer mercedes-benz service center (5825 two notch rd, columbia, sc 29223) and the contact was informed that the vehicle cranked excessively while starting. The contact was informed that the timing mechanism needed to be replaced. The timing chain tensioner and camshaft adjusters, needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 57,800.

When accelerating at highway speeds (mostly) check engine light comes on and car shakes. If you pull over and restart the car most of the time the check engine light goes away. The engine error code (from mercedes) is p03001 which is a cylinder misfire. I purchased this car brand new and have had it at the dealership 8 times now for the same problem. They have replaced the fuel pump and injectors and problem still persists. Mercedes dealer is telling me there is nothing wrong with the car and they can't duplicate the problem after a week with the vehicle. The car is very dangerous to drive. This has happened to me no less than 20 times in 2 years of owning the vehicle. My son has been in the car with me several times when this has happened and it is a safety hazard to be at highway speeds and the car can no longer accelerate and starts to decelerate. Mercedes needs to do something about this before someone (namely me) dies because of this known issue. They have known about this with an internal document since october 2012 yet they continue to ignore the problem.

Hello, i bought my car from local dealer, used with 69k miles. Delivered it with check engine light. Dealer claimed it was low windshield washer fluid. I test drive it and took car to my house. After a month, i went to mercedes benz service station where i found out the camshaft adjuster is out. Costing another $4900. I research more on this issue; this is a flaw in the mercedes m271 engine. After a certain amount of mileage, the camshaft and timing chain have been malfunctioning in most mercedes c250 cars. Mercedes did a recall on it years ago the camshaft adjuster solenoid is very faulty as it happens to most c250 vehicle owners. The check engine stays on every day, there are 1000s of people reported this issue with mercedes.

Mercedes released a bulletin to their dealerships that stated the radiator has a component that bursts and causes the heater, and all most engine parts to clog. The issue was told to me to be "rare". The reason that it is not considered a recall because it has not happened enough. See attached reports from when i took my car for a basic a service n 1.16.17 and less than two weeks later my heat stopped working, i took my car back to mercedes in doing so, the advisor stated that the radiator has the issues that are known by mercedes. I was told by the advisor that during my a service that the fluids were not checked. I don't understand because on the report it has that it was checked. Why are we as consumers being ripped off by these large dealerships and their legal price gaugingi was quoted a price for 3k, which is unrealistic when i just purchased my car less than 5 months ago. In addition prior to me purchasing my car i took it to the dealership to have a pre purchase inspection done, and was told that the car was immaculate condition. This is a disgrace and im extremely irritated with this issue, please help me.

Long pause when trying to accelerate from a stop.not normal turbo lag, it's too long.

Loud rattle at cold start up that last for approximately 5 seconds. Diagnosed by several mechanics as a known issue with cam shaft vvt. Cam shaft adjuster

On 8/26/14 i was stopped at a light. When i went to take-off, the car would not accelerate. It finally did but very slowly. This occurred two more time at the next two stop lights. I was then in a center turn lane to turn across three lanes of traffic & when i tried to accelerate, the car died and the electronic display gave a yellow error message that the car was inoperable due to an issue with the braking system. I immediately put the car in park, turned it off & then started it back up.fortunately it re-started, the error message was gone & i was able to drive into my office parking lot. My mercedes service dept. Said no codes registered on the computer, probably because i turned the car off so quickly it didn't have time to.today, 8/17/14, i am having the same issue. My car is back at the mercedes service department. This is, in my opinion, a dangerous & life threatening problem.

2013 mercedes benz c-250 turbbo charged engine.consumer writes in regards to acceleration and vehicle stalling issues.the consumer stated when he attempted to make a turn at an intersection, and then attempt to straighten out after the turn, it felt as though the engine was about to stall, and he was unable to proceed forward. After a few moments, the vehicle felt as though it was re-starting and then was able to proceed forward.the consumer was informed it was a normal action with the turbo charged engine. Mercedes benz referred to it as, turbo lag. The consumer believed the turbo lag may result in a serious injury or death.

Sluggish accellaration. This has happened several times during the last 2 months. It has happen on a take off from a red to a green light. Where i'm completely stopped and from 0 mph speed i start to accellarate & the car feels like it stalls, almost as if it's getting no fuel. I can have my foot totally down on the gas pedal & the car hesitates or doesn't move at all. I had an incident where i was behind a semi truck, i attempted to change lanes fast before incoming traffic. The car did not move & i almost got hit from behind because the car would not speed up when i tried to accellarate. I've had my best friend in the car while this took place & he was very scared & so was i. I'm not sure if the fuel injectors are pumping the gas fast enough to get the car moving. Then again, what do i know. I'm a girl. All i know is, something is wrong with this car & it's not safe to drive. This does not happen every time but it happens quite too often. I'm to the point now where i don't trust passing other cars and i'm extra cautious when having to pass cars or from lane to lane. I don't trust this car. I've contacted the dealership today & have an appointment to meet with max at the dealership in anaheim hills, ca. I'm hoping i can have an early termination of my lease or get into another car (hopefully a safe car).

The contact owns a 2013 mercedes benz c250. The contact stated that while driving approximately 1 mph, the contact smelled a slight odor of gasoline fuel inside of the vehicle. The contact also discovered that there was a large amount of fuel leaking onto the ground. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer, who stated that the fuel supply hose was detached from the high pressure pump. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 3,942. Updated 7/10/13 the consumer stated the gas leak was on the top of the engine. There was no warning. Updated 07/18/13

Was accelerating up hill after making right turn; check engine light came on, vehicle seemed to stall and would no longer accelerate in traffic situation;maximum speed vehicle would get to is 17 mph.immediately took to dealer who ran diagnostics, but did not identify problem; performed computer "reset" and told to bring back if more problems.several hours later, same issue returned with maximum speed of 7 mph;cel and multiple dash warning lights including traction control appeared.vehicle was towed to dealer and dealer was notified of safety issue and potential for accident.after five days, dealer called and indicated had replaced throttle motor.dealer requested to keep overnight and next morning engine would not start; found pull on battery.approximately 4.5 weeks later, original acceleration issue recurred - while passing a tractor trailer in a passing zone on two-lane highway; was unable to complete passing maneuver and had to fall back in behind tractor trailer just in time for an oncoming vehicle to pass in other direction, avoiding collision, but underscoring imminent safety threat of this vehicle.vehicle was returned to dealer yet again and after more than one week, dealer indicated that fuel pump and injectors had been replaced per instruction from mb usa.again requested to keep vehicle for additional testing; vehicle remains with dealer as of today.the acceleration issues with this vehicle present an imminent threat to safety of both driver and other vehicles.

I have a hum device on my vehicle and it shows that i have a code p0002 fuel volume regulator control circuit range performance.my mercedes benz c class 250 has only 44614 miles, when i bought it had 36.+ miles, if it wasn't for the divorce that i have on the vehicle i probably won't know until the car brake down.when i'm driving the car seems to loose power then it accelerates like it hit turbo power. My mechanic advise me to get in touch with you and see if you can advise me on what to do with it, because it shouldn't be happening.thank an advance for your assistance. My email address is [xxx], my phone number is [xxx]. Again thanks for your help.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).*cc

The gas becomes non responsive while driving and or have to stop the car restart it ,the dealership states they could not find any problem this happened 3 times before and the last time on the freeway and was involved in a near miss with an 18 wheeler witch could have ended my life and possibly others on the freeway i am petrified to drive this car since then which happened a few days ago i took it back to the dealership and they are giving me the run around and claiming there is no problem with the car .this is a serious and dangerous problemi have herd from others that mercedes car have this problem and trying to cover it up from the public .please investigate this problem before it ends up in a fatality, and then its too late. Every time this happens a message shows up on the dashboard and i took a photo of it they still ignored iti spoke to mercedes they are investigating it and as yet did not contact me.

My fuel pump originally was diagnosed as faulty in october 2017 ordered from mercedes benz of sa which was stated by the eta provided.upon calling back they were unable to get a eta on my fuel pump which has my car running horrible and smelling like gas but is my only car.it has been over 4 months since situation upon calling today no eta has been given or updated they voiced its on international back-order everywhere you call if an item like this isn't available there is a serious safety issues and recall needed immediately to hold mercedes responsible.this is an unfortunate event that needs to be fixed.

Long pause when trying to accelerate from a stop.not normal turbo lag, it's too long.

I was driving on the freeway i10 i was doing 65 mph i try to pass a car so i accelerated the car but the car was not getting the power and my check engine light came on so i safely pull out of the freeway and inspected the car with a scanner and it showed a code so i search in google and it appears a failure of the high pressure fuel pump, i managed to take the car to my house disconnected the battery and the check engine light disappeared but the rpm's where irregular and the acceleration was failing more often. It appears that i'm not the only one that have had this problem while i was looking in google and youtube many people had the same problem while trying to accelerate.

Check engine light code, p0340, camshaft position sensor.problem includes difficulty starting car, engine knock upon start, and misfires accelerating to pass at highway speeds.

When driving uphill at 30mph the car slows down and takes a second to accelerate. When i press on the gas i have to floor it to get the car going faster.

High pressure fuel pump failure causes unsafe driving conditions

The contact owns a 2013 mercedes-benz c250. While driving various speeds, the vehicle would not immediately accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. After turning the engine off and back on multiple times, the vehicle would operate normally. Also, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the high pressure fuel pump was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer (crown euro cars, 8302 us highway 19 n., pinellas park, fl) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000. *dt

The contact owns a 2013 mercedes-benz c250. While driving approximately 55 mph and up, the vehicle failed to shift gears automatically in order to accelerate correctly. The contact took the vehicle to mercedes-benz of arrowhead (located at 9260 w bell rd, peoria, az 85382, 623-806-8764) where it was diagnosed that the high-pressure fuel pump failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

Thank you

40,000 mile vehicle. Prolonged to start with grinding noise from valve cover. Check engine light illuminated. Car was taken to mercedes benz of birmingham where it was diagnosed with faulty cam adjusters, timing chain, and timing chain tensioner $4,200 repair estimate. Common problem with mercedes m271 engine. Customer refused repair. Problem occurred while at a stop and in motion.

Gas station nozzles repeatedly get stuck in car gas tank when refueling. The gas station nozzle do not contain the spring around the nozzle, they are smooth with nothing on the nozzle that could catch on the car. It happens at all gas stations from 76 to costco gas. It takes 5-10 minutes to remove it with varying force and varying angles. Nozzle will spin around freely but will not release . Latest incident required extreme force 200lb man pulling with all body weight.this action caused the internal rolled metal that holds gas cab in to bend up and out which then prevented the gas cap from being screwed back on.it is unexplained how the rolled metal was able to latch to the gas station nozzle and then bend up and out (see picture) when again the gas station nozzle is smooth.when placing gas station nozzle into the car it slides in very smoothly with no hint it will not come out.there is a plastic piece in the car where the nozzle slips in between (see picture). This appears to be preventing the gas station nozzle from being removed but it does not explain the damage caused when removing gas station nozzle.a hammer was used (not safe with chance of spark but only way to bend it, pliers will not work) to bend back the metal (see picture) so that gas cap would seat properly. It is unclear at this moment if the car can be refueled or if damage needs to be repaired.gas station attendant said "i see many mercedes have this problem". The problem appears to only happen in california. Traveling across country from washington dc to california, not one time did the nozzle get stuck in the car.it has been something i have previously just dealt with knowing each time i can get it out but takes 2-3 minutes. Note, i drive 3-5k miles a year.

When accelerating, the car will just lose all power and stop accelerating. This throws you forward and kills power to the engine preventing you from speeding up. It then goes into limp mode and have to restart the car several times before exiting limp mode. When taking the car to the dealer they say it just detects a fuel error and stops the engine to prevent damage. This happened once on a highway and once on a city street as i was turning.

Whenever i want to speed up to pass a vehicle or/and to enjoy a rapid accelarating engine light comes up and it turns into limp mode.this is a serious safety issue

The contact owns a 2013 mercedes benz c250. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle decelerated and failed to accelerate as the traction warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000.

While driving the vehicle one day the check engine light came on, code 0340 for a camshaft sensor. Both sensors are replaced, light returns in two days and all problems persist. Vehicle has a long crank, when diagnosed as the timing chain and timing chain tension($4400 of work). Vehicle has 66k miles. After further research this is a fairly common issue. In the uk and australia mercedes was forced to pay for repairs because of consumer protections. I've noticed a reduction in my ability to speed up quickly and i've read anecdotes of people's cars stopping dead on the freeway because of this. This is a manufacturer issue and major safety concern. Https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w204/680776-c250-timing-chain-issues-still.html

I've been experiencing a hesitation when accelerating in my 2013 mercedes benz c250.w

Long pause when trying to accelerate from a stop.not normal turbo lag, it's too long.

The contact owns a 2013 mercedes-benz c250. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle began to hesitate and lose speed. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to park place motorcars mercedes-benz dallas (located at 6113 lemmon ave, dallas, tx 75209, (214) 736-5753) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. The failure continued. The vehicle was taken to park place motorcars mercedes-benz arlington (located at 4201 beltway pl, arlington, tx 76018, (833) 666-5434) where it was diagnosed that an unknown component within the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure continued. The vehicle was taken to park place motorcars mercedes-benz fort worth (located at 5601 bryant irvin rd, fort worth, tx 76132, (817) 310-9745), but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was taken to park place motorcars mercedes-benz grapevine (817-310-9748, located at 1300 texan trail, grapevine, tx 76051), but they were unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to mercedes-benz of plano (located at 6455 dallas pkwy, plano, tx 75024) where it was diagnosed that the solenoid needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred within days. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 100,000.*dtconsumer stated this is my second complaint to mercedesbenz, my 1st complaint 11-4-19. The last time visit of 10-14-19 my car was towed in due my car slowing down andreceived a light on car overheating and i was 5 minutes in driving. I called my aunt to let her know what my carwas doing and it was slowing down drastically, so she could get behind me. I was able to safely pull over. I popped the hood and saw nothing but smoke. Once i cut the car back on i saw there were the fluid was coming from which was a hose from the coolant and the tow guy was able to tell me what it was.

Check engine light code, p0340, camshaft position sensor.problem includes difficulty starting car, engine knock upon start, and misfires accelerating to pass at highway speeds.

I've been experiencing a hesitation when accelerating in my 2013 mercedes benz c250.the back seat belts stopped working.the passenger airbag light all of the sudden now states it is off.

While merging onto the highway my mb c250 with 58k miles shifter suddenly into 2nd gear. I moved onto the shoulder and stopped the car. The engine light immediately illuminated. I turned the car off. When i started it again the light was still on. When i shifted into drive there was a loud sound and the car julted forward. I shiftback in park but it repeated the sound and jerk. I i shifted into drive again (same sound/jerk) and proceded at 30mph on the shoulder of the highway to a german auto repair shop close by. They checked the engine codes and told me that the entire transmission system must be replaced. They said that according to the combination of codes that every major component of the transmission was shot. They said that there is no specific reason this would happen because my transmission fluid was full and clean and the engine didnt have enough miles for so many different parts to have worn out yet. They also said they to reset the computer but the car went back into "limp mode" and all codes came back. The transmission cost plus labor is $4150.this would have been covered by warrentee. Upon investigating this model and the perticular transmission in my car (221.9) i found hundreds of owners with the 221.9 have had the exact same problem. This transmission has been put in multiple mb vehicles for the past decade and randomly owners report thier cars going into limp mode and needing new transmissions. I believe mercedes has neglected to recall the problem beccause that transmission is used in several models for many years and they do jot want to be responsible for so many repairs. Please let me know if there is anything i can do to help mb take responsibility for this faulty system.

The contact owns a 2013 mercedes-benz c250. While driving approximately 58 mph in the rain, the vehicle hydroplaned, flipped twice, and crashed in a ditch. The air bags did not deploy. The contact also stated that the seat belts did not secure both the driver and front passenger tight enough. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The driver struck her head on the steering wheel and the front passenger struck her head on the dashboard. Both occupants sustained minor injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a body shop. It was not determined whether the vehicle was totaled. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

The contact owns a 2013 mercedes-benz c250. The contact took the vehicle to mercedes benz of oklahoma city (14240 broadway ext, edmond, ok 73013) to be repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 19v010000 (air bags). Upon return of the vehicle, the contact stated that an error message displayed on the instrument panel indicating that the front passenger's air bag was disabled. The contact also stated that the passenger seat belt failed to buckle and operate as needed. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer where she left in the vehicle to be serviced. The contact was then informed that the mechanic was not able to duplicate the air bag warning sensor light failure and she was also given an estimate for the repair of the passenger seat belt. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Involved in a rear end collision, which tripped all airbag & seat belt sensors. Including the rear seat belts, causing them to not lock in the event of a collision, rendering the rear seat to be unsafe for passengers. The car has been repaired except for the rear seat cushion. The body shop has had the seat cushion, but refused to install until the insurance company pays an addition $2000.00. This accident happened on 10/14/2016. I got the car back on 12/30/2017 with the original rear seat cushion installed. This has been ongoing for 4 months now, and, nobody is willing to assist me. I hope i have not wasted your time with this, but, don't know what else to do

Under heavy braking for a vehicle that inadvertently pulled out in front of me my drivers seat appeared to torque to the right. After this incident one side of the power seat is seemingly off track and will not move. The seat is stuck.

Ii was driving and car steeringwheel get stuck did not move up and down and also front right seat did not move.

Turning into a parking space today, my car brakes failed.i could not stop my vehicle even when i pressed down completely on the pedal. I ended up jumping the parking space "curb/stopper" and hit a light post.i have never experienced this prior but it was extremely frightening.i have had other issues with the car -the radio where works intermittently and the volume sporadically increases and decreases with no resolution even after diagnostics and software updates per the dealer.this, however, was an issue that could have had worse consequences.after the cosmetic damage is fixed, i plan to have mercedes run diagnostics on the brake system.

I was driving on the freeway and my exit was coming up so i pressed on the brakes and the pedal was stiff and i could not slow the car down. Once the vehicle slowed down on its own due to me driving on a incline i turned the car off. Started the car andtried it again and i still had not power to the brakes. I inspected the vehicle and saw that the brake booster vacuum pump was leaking oil. I had to find a replacement part and install it.

Elv lock failure on the in the steering column, vehicle disabled

Vehicle should not start. Was left stranded. Diagnostics returned esl failure. Multiple complaints about this problem from other consumers.

Takata inflators (passenger side)grounding cables in steering wheel

Clicking in steering column. Mercedes benz stated that i would have to pay . The car was in motion. I was parking. My airbag light is on and i still hear clicking when i turn the wheel

While pulling into garage, the steering wheel locked in place and would not turn. The dealer diagnosed a faulty esl (electronic steering lock), the repair was completed at a cost to me of $1,140.70. Mercedes benz usa refused to reimburse.

Takata inflators - i was sold a mercedes c250 by an authorized mercedes dealership as a certified pre-owned vehicle in march 2016. While selling the vehicle, the dealership showed me a carfax report with no open recalls. This recall has been open since jan 2016implying that i was sold the vehicle using fraudulent information. Also since then it has been 2 years with no remedy as the parts are not available. I contacted the customer service and was told they cannto help solve this.

Too long waiting for accident to happen. Haven't had an incident, but the longer the wait, the greater the possibilty. When will the parts be available ?

Ii was driving and car steeringwheel get stuck did not move up and down and also front right seat did not move.

The contact owns a 2013 mercedes-benz c250. The contact stated while driving 55 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed nor repaired. The contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 17v252000 (steering). Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 69,000.

My car was parked at the mall, when i went to the car to start it the engine would not turn on. Had to get the car towed to a mechanic. I had to replace the steering wheel immobilizer.

Slicing my hand open on my steering wheel was completely unexpected. I was at the car wash the car was sitting still, the keys were not in i the ignition and driver door was open. I reached my arm through the top opening of the steering wheel to insert my key fob and start my car. When i started pulling my arm back through, the metallic trim on top of the steering wheel frayed and sliced open my middle finger on my right hand. I can barely drive my car without having to worry about where my hand is going to go the wrong way and be sliced by part of my steering wheel i should not have to worry about this it's very dangerous.

Takata inflatorsinvolved on a car accident on 02/27/2017 were this vehicle air bags didn't deployed. This vehicle was a total loss and got paid off by my insurance but i am still hurt.

Drove up to destination placed the car in park and turned off ignition when i then reached for the door handle and was unable to open the door. Drivers door latch/ handle broke and unable to open door to get out of car. I took vehicle to dealership and they stated it was not a recall and not a safety concern and i would have to replace the door which they quoted me $1000.00 (labor/door). This is a safety concern when you cannot open the door with window up. Dealer stated the part has 2 year warranty and there was no assurance that it could happen again nor if the other doors latch/handle will break as well.

The interior door latch broke, keeping the driver from opening the door and safely exiting the vehicle.this is a known defect in many mercedes benz vehicles where the inside of the door latch snaps off inside the door.to exit the vehicle, the driver must lower the window and open the door from the outside.

On 1/29/17 we awoke to the smell of smoke coming from our garage. Upon opening the inside door to our garage, we discovered the entire garage was on fire. Subsequent investigations resulted in an unknown cause. However the fire was centered around the left rear of the vehicle and the left rear door was found open/ajar?the car had been parked in the garage for over 24 hours prior and as recently as 9pm the night before all was well when i visited the garage?

The door handle breaks from the inside making it where you can't exit the vehicle without the vehicle's engine on and window rolled down to open handle from the outside of the vehicle. Mercedes considers the door handle to be a "trim piece" and not a functional piece of the vehicle. This is a very serious issue and should be a recall or at least covered in the extended warranty that customers purchase. In an emergency situation i would not be able to exit my vehicle if the engine was turned off.

Inside drivers door handle broke at the attach point to cable. On inspection found that handle is manufactured in such a way that it does not have enough material in the body of the joint to maintain integrity for such a high use item. This presents a danger as the handle will fail and could fail in a dangerous situation, trapping the driver in the car.

The contact owned a 2013 mercedes benz c250. While driving approximately 10 mph, the contact's vehicle was involved in a crash with another vehicle and exploded. A police report was filed and there were no injuries. The air bags failed to deploy. The fire department extinguished the fire. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage and vin were unknown.

On may 13, 2018,my driver's side door handle would not open. I had been driving and went to exit the vehicle and could not get out.i panicked that i could not exit.i had to start the car to roll down the window and to open drivers door from outside.i took it in for service repair and notified the plastic handle broke away inside the door panel. Told it would be 6-12 months or longer wait time to receive replacement door panel.mercedes benz does not just sell a handle replacement and have to purchase the whole interior door trim.

The driver door handle is broken, and we had the part on order since 11/7/2017 year, we can not get out of the car, only when we roll down the window. If there is an accident there is no way of escaping.

The inside driver's door handle to open the car broke. It doesn'topen and thought was easy to fix. Took it to the dealer and told me it cost a $1,000.00 because need a new panel. Unacceptable. Looking in internet, figure out that i'm not the only one with this problem. There's a lot of cars in u.s. This represent a serious life threatening because in case of accident involving fire you can't open the driver's door from the inside and have to open the electric window to use the outside handle (yes, it open from the outside!) if the car is without power in an accident, you can loose your life if fire is involve. You simply are trapped and the only option is breaking the window. I wrote to daimler, mb u.s.a. And garaje isla verde (official dealer in puerto rico), and it just cost $1,000.00. Mb u.s.a. Referred the case to garaje isla verde but they threat me like...nothing ever happened. Ok, i took the car and start searching in internet. Surprisingly, many people have the same problem! then i thought to write because this is not simply a matter of money, also is a matter of threatening. This is my wife's car. We took the car there for looking for the cost of fixing that, price of fixing a crash at back bumper and for general inspections.we left the car september 11. We called after 2 weeks. I picked the car october 19.the safety matter concerns to you, not with my car, but with all the cars in the nation.make an investigation about that and decide if it proceed.my best regards and thanks.[xxx]retired customer service manageri don't know if you have a similar complaint. I just did my part.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Problem: i'm unable to open my driver door from the inside. I have to roll down my window to open my driver door.how did this happen? i opened my car door. When i got back on the inside door handle was loose.contact with dealer: i went to the dealer to rectify problem. They told me i had to replace my interior door panel - which i have no issue with. However, the service advisor told me that location did not have the panel i needed and mercedes was no longer making the part for this 2013 vehicle. He told me their were only 3 interior panels in california. 1 in san diego and 2 in sacramento. I called both locations. All were on hold for other customers.i bought this car in 2013. Brand new. I now have 138,000 miles on it - that i alone put on the vehicle. I do not feel safe driving a vehicle where i can i open the driver door from the inside. In addition, to be informed that mercedes is no longer making a part for a 2013 vehicle is unacceptable. When people get in accidents, how is the panel replaced.i went online and saw similar complaints about this issue. I don't have a problem paying for an interior door panel. I just want to be able to feel safe and have the ability to open my driver door from the insidez

Manufacturer recall number2017100005nhtsa recall number17v627andmanufacturer recall number2018030004nhtsa recall number18v043both are listed as "recall incomplete, remedy not yet available" and both affect driver airbags.i need remedy for these issues to be sure i won't be injured by my airbags.

Drivers side door handle became disengaged from cable. I could not open the door from the inside of the car. This incident did not immediately affect my safety, but i am reporting this issue because i foresee a problem with the construction of this flimsy door opening system. My car is barely 4 years old and if i was in an accident and could not open my door immediately, it could spell trouble. Any number of scenarios could affect a driver who cannot open the door without breaking a window or rolling down the window to open the door with the outside handle. I have found many blog posts of people who had this identical problem with their c250 sedan..

Door panel: my drivers side interior door handle will not open the door. The mechanism behind the door has broken. My mechanic stated the entire door panel requires replacement. I spoke with mercedes and they will not cover the cost and this is a tremendous safety concern. I see through my searches this is known problem with this vehicle and i would like to know why mercedes benz corporation is not standing behind this design flaw. I bet if people were dying or died from this safety flaw it would be handled immediately with settlements outside the courts and away from the public eye. Where is the accountability for there product?

As i was driving on the freeway, i heard and explosion followed by a rain sound, my sunroof had exploded and the glass can back down. Nothing hit the sun roof, the glass was pointing out, it actually exploded. After research i found this is common in mercedes and i had no idea that something like this was even possible. I have had the car for only 3 months.

My car burnt yesterday morning on my way to work, no warning, nothing noted. Just started smoking and then flames came up and burn the whole front end

When the car reaches a certain speed the doors lock automatically by design.with the child locks for the rear doors turned off rear passengers cannot open the rear doors with the door handle.they must first be unlocked electronically by the driver or by pulling the lockingbutton up at the door.the later requires an extra procedure to get out of the rear seat in an emergency and is too difficult to operate by a young or older person.this adversely affects the safety of rear passengers.(the 2017 model c allow the rear door to unlock after a second pulling of the door handle,a more obvious or intuitive and less difficult way of egress.this is not noticed partly because the back seats are less frequently occupied my the single occupant driver.noticed from jan 2013 to present.

Thank you

As i sat in my vehicle waiting for the traffic light. I felt a sudden hit on my head. At that moment i was confused, and thought someone had rear ended me. So like anybody would, i pulled over only to find out that the headrest on my 2013 mercedes benz c250 had came apart. It seems like the plastic insidetore apart from the springs causing pressure for it to deploy.

I was driving to colorado from texas going north on highway 285 about 15 miles out of clines corners when my moon roof just exploded.glass went everywhere and i quickly swerved off the road.there were no cars around that would have been capable of throwing up debris of any kind. I have subsequently done research to find that it is almost impossible for rocks or debris to break a moon roof.this seems to be a semi-common problem however i am struggling at the moment to get mercedes to cover the repairs.

Nothing has happened to me or my car, but i am concerned for our safety. Is this complaint form onlyfor people who have already had an accident or passed away due to this recall? the recall is open and parts aren't ready!? i am trying to sell my car due to a financial issue/hardship. I need to know how you are going to resolve this problem?

Driving vehicle normally and turn the wheel and hear clicking sound from around steering wheel.front, drivers air bag malfunction light is illuminated and horn nor any controls on steering wheel work at all.error message displayed "front left malfunction, service required" symbol for airbag displayed.took vehicle to mercedes of palm beach dealership and they stated their were no open recalls on this model. I mentioned campaign 2017120024 (elec) campaign desc. 1709p46c62 (elec) and they state no open recalls on my vehicle. Took vehicle to reputable established mercedes repair shop and they diagnosed the issue as "no communication with steering control module" repairman states this is a common issue with this car.i believe this is a serious safety issue with this vehicle as the airbag malfunction can possibly cause serious injury to the driver and the horns inability to function prevents the driver from alerting any other drivers if they stray from lane, are backing out of parking space, or distracted at a red traffic signal.

Whenever i accelerate engine light comes up and it turns into limp mode.this is a serious safety issue, alot of other people with the same vehicle as me are having same issues. This has happened more than 3 times, this is a error in high pressure fuel pump.

I've been experiencing a hesitation when accelerating in my 2013 mercedes benz c250.w

Sunroof explodes and shatters for no apparent reason while driving straight on the highway. Takata recall as well.

The contact owns a 2013 mercedes-benz c250. The contact found water on the floor of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the drainage channel on the sun roof was plugged and caused water to drain into the vehicle. The manufacturer stated that the failure was not covered by the warranty. The contact was advised to contact the insurance company. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 34,234.updated 06/23/17*lj*as

A defective rim on my 2013 c250 cracked from inside while the car was going at barely 25mph at the university of miami campus causing a dangerous situation which could have jeopardized my daughter's life had she been on the highway at a higher speed. The car is new and the tires are in immaculate condition. Geico says benz should pay for the defective product, benz says geico should pay for it. I think this rim should be recalled because it is a dangerous product that can get people killed if it happens when the car is traveling at higher speed.thank you.
