Takata recall - when purchasing this vehicle, i was informed by the carmax dealship that there were open recalls on the vehicle.they briefly explained that one of the recalls was a defective part, involving the airbag, could cause serious injury or death.this was a huge concern to me, as i was purchasing a mercedes-benz because it was an extremely safe car.i expressed my concern immediately to the dealership, who told me not to worry and that i could take the car directly the an authorized mercedes-benz dealership to have parts replaced and that the issue would be resolved.after signing the papers to purchase the vehicle, i contacted several authorized dealerships with attempts to have the recall remedied.unfortunately, i had no luck in doing so, as each of the dealerships informed me that there was no remedy at this time.i continued to call each month to attempt to have the parts replaced without any luck.knowing that there was defective parts in my car and that it could case serious death or injury to someone really upset me.i use my car for work and at times, i am responsible for transporting clients.due to this open recall, my car has been deemed unsuitable by the company i work for and now i have lost a great deal of money, specifically due to this recall.i am extremely frustrated that i have been given the wrong information and in addition to that, i am forced to drive an unsafe car, knowing that there is defective parts.my job has refused to allow me to work until the recall has been resolved and an authorized dealer has reported to nhtsa that it has been fixed.*dt *tp

I've been driving my vehicle under these circumstances far too long and this is causing me a lot of anxiety because of the concerns i have regarding my safety including my family. I received a notice regarding a legal action but i have not received anything else and i have called the mercedes dealerships and they can't do anything because it continues to show pending recall on their system and they pretty much can't do anything about it until they get a notice from whoever these people are suppose to be. Takata recall! i took my 2012 mercedes in for its maintenance . At this time, i was approached and told that my car was on the recall listdue to airbags. At this time, i was informed of the safety issue and i was severely concerned for my 17 year old daughter. This was her car! i was toldthere was not a fix. That i could take the risk of my daughter being severely injured. Wow!! let me ask you what you would have done! i then out of fear, traded my 2012 mercedes in. Took a huge loss and bought her a newer vehicle. Her other car was paid off. I had to put a dork payment on yet another car with a 2 year finance. Why should ibe held accountable!i didn't put the airbags in the car. I thought as a mother, i was purchasing a safe reliable car for my daughter. I'm out$32,000 ... Who's going to justify this?why should i have to eat this cost!i don't think so! i need to be reimbursedthe difference it would have cost to replace airbags. Why should the mercedes dealer be able to profit off me as well? they willfind a way to fix the airbags then turn around & sell the car @ the usual jacked up cost. This is not fair!someone best find the answer.
Takata recall - i have been waiting since my last recall notice of 1-10-17 (nhtsa recall number - 17v017 & manufacturing recall number 2017010002) to have my cars airbag replaced - now that takata has filed chapter 11 and there is no remedy - what are my options?

My mercedes has a recall for the takata air bags.i do not live in close proximity to a mercedes dealership. I have spoken to the dealership in orange park, fl which is around 85 miles away. I have, also, spoken to mercedes customer care. Neither will assist in having my car picked up and taken to the dealership or are they offering any assistance in removing a barrier to have the air bag replaced. I understand this is an important recall but how do i comply and mitigate risk of injury if mercedes is not willing to help car owners who live in rural areas? please advise.

After discussing our issue of a delayed response to repair our defective vehicle in a timely manner with representatives from mercedes-benz usa, we sent the attached email to nhtsa and received the attached response to file a complaint. We have received an email only from the nhtsa to file this complaint. Both mercedes-benz usa and the nhtsa are liable in not preforming the necessary repairs in a timely manner. Based on the information in the recall that this safety feature in our vehicle will "possibly cause serious injury or death." this vehicle should be recalled immediately and repairedwithing a week of sending out the recall notice.this tactic to stall has put our family in danger with the defective safety air-bag installed.

I have the privilege of representing two individuals who were severely injured on 11/7/2020 when the passenger-side takata airbag installed in the vehicle improperly ruptured during a crash event deployment.the vehicle was in motion at the time of the rupture.due to the violent explosion of the inflator module, the inflator's igniter caps and housing blew apart and struck the passenger, a young female, in the face and head with lethal velocity.the incident occurred in pinellas county, florida. The young female passenger has been hospitalized for 2 weeks with severe injuries and multiple surgical procedures. Her current injuries include but are not limited to, loss of vision in her left eye, cognitive trauma, facial paralysis and diminished hearing capacity in both ears:as shown below, the passenger-side airbag module blew apart (as we have seen in multiple passenger-side takata bags)'due to the large amount of ammonium nitrate propellant used in this model for deployment. The below images show pieces of the inflator module post-explosion, including the inflator mesh, housing and igniter caps from stage 2 separation.## vin passed ## 2012 mercedes-benz c250w ##*dt*dt

Takada recall - yesterday 10.26.17 i have called the local las vegas mercedes benz dealership [fletcher jones].they told me they have known about the recall for two years and they have not yet replaced one takada airbag to date as they have no parts for replacement.they have no parts for the recall of the airbag.this leaves me and/or my family at risk of injury if we get into an accident with this defective airbag still in my vehicle.
Takata recall,no repair on 2012 c250 mercedes and no estimate on when they will have parts to repair.isn't it dangerous to drive this car with a passenger in front seat?what is my recourse?also engine lights comes on and sensors have been changed and mechanic does not know what actual problem is/ could this just be a bad fuse?

Takata recall i was involved in a head on collision in 2015 driving my 2012 mercedes c250. The impact was severe and totaled my car, but the airbags did not deploy. My crashing speed was well over 45mph. I purchased a mercedes benz from the dealer for its safety and i am disappointed that mercedes benz failed to recognize the defect before selling me a car that wasn't safe. I am lucky to walk away with minor injuries, i have been terrified of driving a motor vehicle ever since.

The blower of the climate control does not work when the car is parked outside in the sun. As a result the car air conditioning system is impacted with the rise in temperature.when the car is parked in the garage or in shade, the blower and air conditioning system works fine.it appears that there is a short circuit as a result of high temperature which prevents the blower / air conditioner from operating.please check if this is a safety recall issue.

Car showed signs well before vehicle started showing codes. When i would start it up the vehicle sounded like a rocket ship was about to take off and shortly after the noise would go away. With no codes mercedes tried replacing the some ac parts but it didn't help. I just assumed the noise was harmless if mercedes says nothing's wrong than it must be okay. Then one day i went to turn the car on and it hesitated making all kinds of noise but always started after holding the key in the on position and pushing forward. Car seems to work well once started but i am using more gas which might be related.the check engine light came on afterwards and would turn itself off. After bringing it to mercedes they state i need a new intake variable camshaft adjustor and it's a good idea to replace the exhaust as well since there's no charge for additional labor since the exhaust adjustor is going to be accessible. My car is at 68,000 miles and well kept this is a mechanical issue with mercedes in multiple models and years.

2012 mercedes benz c250w. Consumer writes in regards to oil coolant housing repair. *ldthe consumer requested to be reimbursed for work that was not done properly, or at all.
When starting up the vehicle make a terrible noise that last for 3-4 seconds before it goes away. The vehicle was verified by a mercedes technician and the diagnostics came back stating an issue with the "camshaft adjusters (internal fault)".i was told this condition will get worse and finally engine will stall and major damages will happen. Worst scenario could produce bent valves and will require a major engine overhaul with just 48,304 miles on it.apparently,c250s are having this issue and customer are paying the consequences for a defective product.by the way, engine has been perfectly maintained with mobil 1 (ow-40) and original filter every 5,000 miles instead of the 10,000 miles interval recommended by the manufacturer. This condition could lead to a major failure while driving the vehicle that could end up into an accident.
In a mercedes benz c250 2012-2014 there has been many reports across the united states where camshaft adjusters+timing chain components fail/break. This is a highly risk and safety matter that needs to be addressed by mercedes benz as recall. Being newer model cars, the timing chain and camshaft adjusters should not fail. Not even at 100k miles. Some of these models has had their camshaft adjusters+ timing chain fail at 46k miles. Why is mercedes not owning up to these factory faults? why are new models that are not even 10 years old have this kind of issue? this defect can cause major accidents on the road. Cause you go at highway/freeway speed 60 mph and your timing chain breaks, you can cause a major accident with other cars, and injure your own self and passengers. Can you imagine for those who have babies and drive these vehicles. Why is a hugecompany like mercedes not owning up to these defects? instead they want to charge $4,000-$8,000 to get this repair done. Even if you have warranty they still hesitate on getting this repair done. I just want to be heard because being one of the many reports with this issue on these vehicles, it's concerning to see many of these vehicles still out on the road. When these parts have are failing, you will get a check engine light that reads"p034062" camshaft position sensor bank 1 electrical failure" after getting diagnosed by many shops, and even mercedes benz dealer all the test say the wiring and everything else is ok. Camshaft adjusters are failing will need replacing + timing chain & tensioner. But why on such a newer car? it should run about 200k miles until it needs a new timing chain. Cars being serviced at correct interval & being well maintained. This should not be a issue. Engine when start up will rattle. It will sound like engine is falling apart. Plus car will run really rough.
The contact owns a 2012 mercedes-benz c250. The contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the engine compartment when the vehicle was started. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was towed to mercedes-benz of san diego in san diego, ca where it was diagnosed that the cam shaft adjuster was defective and needed to be replaced. The failure was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified, but only offered the contact a discount towards the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000. The vin was not available.
The contact owns a 2012 mercedes-benz c250. While driving 70 mph, the contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the engine. The vehicle was taken to mercedes-benz of covington (located at 8080 westshore drive, covington, la 70433, (985) 900-1212) where it was diagnosed that the camshaft gear-sprocket and exhaust cam adjuster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.
Timing chain on the vehicle stretches out over time. This causes the vehicle to not start properly and can snap while driving and stop the car in the middle of traffic and driving. There is no service recommendation for the timing chain and usually starts giving trouble after the vehicle's warranty has expired. I have not had my car stop in traffic but there are many complaints on the mercedes benz forums.
Check engine light is on and upon quick accelerationthe car misfires and begins to shake.also having water come through top frame when it rains
Ref: nhtsa id number: 10676804summary: camshaft intake adjuster replaced thermostat seals replaced chain tensioner replacedmy 2012 mb c250,while still under warranty by year and mileage, was declined to be service by mercedes benz of cutler bay, florida. 2012 c250 purchased new from a dealer. Rattling on starting engine and check engine light is on. Spoke with my mechanic and it is due to faulty camshaft adjusters. Repair will cost $5000 plus and involves replacing the camshaft adjusters, timing chain and sprockets. This problem just started 10 days ago with approximately 38,000 miles on the odometer. Seems to be a well known problem and not an expense i can really afford on reduced income due to covid lockdown. I am very worried about driving this car as this problem can result in catastrophic engine failure and i am regularly on the freeway. Driving this car is no longer safe. I purchased a mercedes thinking their reputation for safety, quality and engineering would preclude such issues.
Car stationary, hesitant to start, when started 2-4 seconds, thumping noise.took car to dealer for diagnosis.found "intake camshaft positioner" faulty, repair $4000!
While starting engine light came on. Would not go away. Took to merc dealer, told camshaft failure. Replacement cost 5865 dollars. Car serviced at dealership as per recommendations. Several blogs report similar issue by different customers.similar issue in e 350 on 2006 model. Merc seems to aware of this issue.
Sometimes while driving my car it will stutter as if it wants to turn off while driving. Additionally, when starting up the vehicle it stalls before actually turning over. The check engine light came on and the vehicle was taken to a certified mercedes dealership and the diagnostics came back stating a issue with the "camshaft adjusters (internal fault)". Apparently, first generation c250s are having this issue but it has since been corrected with later generations.
The contact owns a 2012 mercedes-benz c250. When starting the vehicle, there was a grinding noise coming from the engine and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to g2 automotive mercedes-benz (5935 parkway north blvd, cumming, ga 30040 phone number: (678) 515-9807) where it was diagnosed that the engine needed a new timing chain tensioner replacement. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
2012 mercedes c250 caught fire with no warning.drove about 5 miles to the store and parked the car.a passerby said your car is on fire.within minutes the entire front of the car was ablaze.the vehicle was towed to the city impound lot and has not been inspected by anyone.
I bought the certified car at 50k and at 70k miles, right after the warranty ended - check engine light came on and the dealership said it will cost $8k due to camshafts to repair!! they even suggested that i should consider trading the car in! keep in mind i still owe $28k so that option is out! since then the check engine light still on even after i got it repaired at a local/affordable mechanic and it's about 110k mileage and the engine is rattling as it runs. This is my 3rd benz and the first 2 failed due to the transmission failure. I just can't believe these german cars cause so many problems and so costly to repair. What happen to you pay for what you get!!! today, while i was driving the car just slowly stop and the engine cut off! aaa came to check and it's not the battery so will need to get towed. Still owe $10k left- i don't know what to do! no other car to drive .
When starting car, there is an audible 3 second engine rattle before the engine fully engages. Once the engine is running, the vehicle appears to perform normally. The mechanics have diagnosed it as failing camshaft adjusters. The repair also entails replacing the timing chains. Repairs to cost just over $5,000.commentary from the mechanic indicates that this is a very common failure with this engine which typically occurs just beyond the warranty expiration. Online searches have confirmed his assertion. My vehicle has 80,000 miles and has never missed a service. I have every receipt of every service. A critical engine component such as this with such a costly repair procedure should not be this common.it is the result of a poor design and at least a portion of the repair costs should fall on the manufacturer.
The contact owns a 2012 mercedes-benz c250. Upon starting the vehicle, a rattling noise was heard coming from the engine and the service engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a cam shaft issue, and the timing chain and sprockets needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and informed the contact that there was a recall, but the vehicle year was not included. The failure mileage was unknown.
Bought car from mercedes lot, used with 70k miles. Delivered it with check engine light. Salesman claimed it was low washer fluid. I said i wasnt going anywhere in a car with a check engine light and he needed to get it back to service and have code ran. After doing so he claimed it just needed to be reset since last service some work had been done(another lie). Told him i was retest driving before accepting vehicle. Turned over 3 times, then started. When driving on the interstate the throttle became unresponsive and died out with cars speeding up behind me. Forced mercedes to put it back in service. It was the timing chain and cam adjuster issue. Theres 100s of people notifying you of this. Mercedes knows and is trying to lie to customers and still sell them knowing they're damaged and dangerous. Fix can be upwards of $4000. A recall needs to be made!!! please do something!
Cold engine vehicle jerking i took it to mercedes of fort myers fl and they told me that they couldn't find the problem and i took it to so many other places and still can't find it i'm just wondering if it could be a recall
I have been having issues with my vehicle since i purchased it. Starting with me not having enough power from a start, in an attempt to gain enough power to drive at a safe speed from the start, as if the vehicle lags & no matter the gasoline or service, the problem never corrects. When i'm trying to gain speed to maintain with the flow of traffic safely the vehicle lags notably before gaining speed. I'm now having to replace the engine bc the oil coolant hose burst while i was driving on the highway with my child in the car. My check engine light activated but the only notice displayed on the dash was the engine coolant when it was low. When the hose burst while i was driving about 60mph i heard a pop sound under the hood, saw smoke coming from the exhaust, then a clanking noise under the hood that got louder & louder until i was able to pull off of the highway, & then i noticed a very large amount of oil on the ground that left a trail along the ground from my vehicle. That was very dangerous as my vehicle lost power during that incident. I'm told by the mechanic, the engine has to be replaced. This happened without a warning. The mercedes benz is supposed to be a safe & reliable luxury vehicle & not a nightmare to have for the owner.
My c250 started making a noise when you first start the car. Choking and hesitations to start, but yet would start after a moment or 2. The noise was unfamiliar. This noise would continue through out the day, as long as the car set for more than 15-20 minutes. I would go into the store, to shop come back out to the car an the noise would still be there after 15-20 minutes. I took my car to the mercedes benz dealer in houston, texas north. After a $200 diagnose cost. The cam shaft adjuster is out. Costing another $4,575.68. My car is a 2012, which i brought in 2014 with less than 7,000 miles. Now it is 2019 with only 87,885 miles on my car, i don't know what this part is for or why my car needs this. All i know it cost $4,575.68. Way to much for something i know nothing about. Can't get in touch with manufactory to complain and mercedes headquarter hasn't return my call. Please give me advise, as to what to do with my complaint.
Dealer said the camshaft adjuster with chain tensioner needs to be replace at 65,000 miles. Also the high pressure pump needs to be replace too. This after spending over $773.06 hundred dollars on engine analysis. I decline the service because it will cost me $5,324.98 to get the job done. Could this be a safety recall because the dealer said one of this days it might just stop on the middle of nowhere. Now i am driving this vehicle with the check engine light on because of the problem i mention above.
Takata recall. Horrible noise coming from engine. Scared it is the dreaded camshaft and timing chain combo. It is ridiculous this has yet to be recalled by mercedes. Not safe as the car can leave you stranded without notice.
The contact owns a 2012 mercedes-benz c250w. When the accelerator pedal was applied, the vehicle stalled without warning. Additionally, the vehicle made an abnormal rattlingnoise. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (mercedes-benz of st clair shores located at 20200 e nine mile rd saint clair shores, mi 48080 586-773-2369) where it was diagnosed that the camshaftadjusters needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer was notified and did not offer any assistance. The failure mileage was 68,000.
Engine light came on , the car hesitated to turn on at times, sometimes had to press the gas pedal to have vehicle turn on.took it to local benz shops that claimed to work on benz, they said their computer could not determine the code.so took it to the dealer in fort myers, fl.was told it was the timing chain and the 2 cam shafts.was quoted $5032.so had to other choice than to have them repaired.only received the managers discount of $150 (wow).i read that many other owners have the same problem and they will not recall .they have recalled older models like 2006 for this same type of issue.but of course seems that mercedes benz has no prestige.also note this car only has 41,000 miles in mint shape take good care of it.very , very disappointed with mercedes benz, don't get stuck buying a vehicle that is not dependable.this model has too many issues.
Hello, this is a flaw in the mercedes m271 engine. After a certain amount of milage the camshaft and timing chain have been malfunctioning in most mercedes c250 cars. The dealer is asking $4400 for the repair, and mercedes did a recall on it years ago the camshaft adjuster solenoid is very faulty as it happens to most c250 vehicle owners. Ever since it happened to my own car every time i start it sounds like its about to blow up. The check engine stays on every day, sometimes it'll go in limp mode and i would carefully take the car off the highway.
The contact owns a 2012 mercedes-benz c250. Upon starting the vehicle, a loud noise was heard coming from the engine compartment and the service engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was advised that the camshaft and timing chain needed adjustment. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 56,000.
Camshaft intake adjuster replacedthermostat seals replacedchain tensioner replaced.
I was driving a of maybe ten minutes on the highway . As soon as i was off the highway ; the vehicle suddenly stopped without warning of a check engine light .(malfunction). Days before that the vehicle was serviced at a mercedes benz dealership without any issues. After their research i've been told that i need a new engine . There are complaints after complaints listed online in regards to engine failure, cam shaft adjusters etc. This is something that clearly needs to be handled . This could have caused a life threatening situation.
Engine was stalling upon initial startup. Took to mercedes and received an estimate for $4500 for a new timing chain and cam adjusters. The car only has 46000 miles on the odometer. After searching the blogs, i find that there are hundreds of complaints about this exact issue. Why isn't there a recall or tsb on this?
When accelerating to pass on highway car suddenly goes into limp mode and losses power this is dangerous at 70 plus miles per hour, ecm code reads p0002 high pressure fuel regulator failure, check engine light will stay on until car has been shut off for longer than ten minutes or if you have a scanner you can erase code and drive the car normal, no passing. This has also happen pulling out from a stop light car has buckle with immediate power loss and will only creak up in limp mode just enough to get you home. I am a well season mechanic with over 20 years experienceand this is absolutely dangerous. Please don't wait until someone gets hurt or killed by this which is a known issue going back before 2012. This happened 3 times this ast week and today.
The contact owns a 2012 mercedes-benz c250. While attempting to start the vehicle, the contact noted a choking and knocking sound in the engine. The check engine indicator also illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the cam shaft tensioner failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The check engine indicator did not illuminate this time. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again where it was diagnosed that the cam shaft tensioner on the other side of the engine failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact attempted to notify the manufacturer, but the contact was placed on hold for 1.5 hours and then disconnected. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000.
The contact owns a 2012 mercedes-benz c250. While the vehicle was parked, the vehicle made a loud clanking noise when it was started. The failure occurred constantly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the exhaust camshaft adjuster failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 57,219.
My check engine light came on while driving and i had it checked by a mechanic, the obc code was p0340 camshaft adjuster. My vehicle has less than 100,000 miles the camshaft adjuster should not need to be replace until around 250.000 miles. Other owner's of 2012 c-250 have experience the came issues. Mercedes benz should take note of possible defected parts.
I purchased this 2012 c250 mercedes from carmax of waldorf on 04/26/2017, with 20,046 miles on it.i informed carmax the engine light was on and the car was rattling at start.i also reported the oil dipstick was broken.when the car was returned, the dipstick was replaced, coolant light off and engine light was off; however, the rattling at start up continued.i reported the problem to carmax several months later and they pretty much denied fault and went as far to say the car is just cold and does that at startup.for further protection i signed with carshield as my wife drives the car.the car's rattling continued at startup and eventually became difficult to start.i took it to mercedes of arlington, virginia and they stated the timing gear and chain needed replacing.carshield reported back to me that it was a preexisting problem and wouldn't fix it.meanwhile, we were stuck with a car we were paying on with no one taking the blame.following research, i found that this is a recurring problem with the 2012 c250 model but there is no recall.i eventually paid approximately $5000 for the engine to be repaired as the engine failed.the engine is currently rattling again; with the engine light coming on constantly.this seems to be a common problem, however, with to consequences and accountability.
Cam shaft adjusters went out and had to be repaired for normal use and drivers side door handle broke on the inside and needs to be replaced due to regular use.
When starting the car the vehicle make loud rattling noise and the entire car shakes. I took the car to the mechanic and he said it is the camshaft adjuster/actuators. Which need to be replaced along with the timing chain. He also said it is not safe to drive as they can fail and car will stop in the middle of a road. The car when trying to accelerate sometimes doesn't want to go and you can actually fell the car jerk seeming as the chain is skipping. It has happened multiple times. Car has 67,000 miles and this started happening at 57k miles.
Rough start in the morning, check engine light came on. Took it to the mercedes benz dealership at buckhead ga. Was told that the cam adjusters not functioning. Estimated repair cost $4000.
The cel came on and the engine was having a rough start . I took it to the repair shop and after using the star diagnostic system the diagnoses was camshaft adjusters in failure.the remedy replace the camshaft adjusters. Cost $3500.00.
My c250 has only 62,000 miles.last month, ignition coil broke, so i spent about $300 to repair that.only 2 days after i fixed the problem, the engine intake and exhaust cam shaft adjusters, timing chain tensioner broke.total repair cost of about $4,000.how can a vehicle that has only 62,000 miles have all those major mechanical problems?i know i purchased a lemon.i called and talked to benz customer service rep in new york area.originally he told me that he sure made it sound like they benz will pay for a big chunk of total repair bill.and promised to me that he will get back to me with an answer within few days.i called him many times and my wife called him as well.never a reply for over a month.out of frustration, i tried to find his supervisor.only after i try to talk to his supervisor, the customer rep called me up and offer 10% of repair cost.he blame me for not taking my benz to for all mechanical issues during possession of my vehicle.that is the reason why benz offered to pay for 10% of repair cost.so i told him.benz salesman never mentioned that to me.if in fact, i had to take my vehicle to benz dealership for any repairs to get better service discount, i would have taken it to benz dealership.they never mention no such thing, and now making excuse to blame me for them selling me a lemon.i am so disappointed by quality and customer service of mercedes benz company.
Purchased my 2012 c250 with 45k miles on it at time of purchase. I put 4k miles and i started hearing a ticking noise on start ups then progressed. It has turned off on me while driving at about 35 mph and another at 25 mph kinda scared to drive it. You think when you pay for quality you should get it, not having to $5500 for a camshaft lifter replacementin under the first 50k miles that' insane! please send feed back in going to talk to lawyers and get there view on the situation because there's more then just a couple with this problem and some with vary low miles. Thanks for your time much appreciated.
Takata recall...engine making a loud rattle when started.
Dealership diagnosed problem with camshaft adjusters. This happened 2 times already on the same vehicle, and it is very costly to fix ($4000). First time i had a rattling noise from engine, and check engine light on. First time it happened at 46k miles. Second time car hesitates to start, had long cranking, it happened at 69k miles. It is a systematic, very costly and potentially life threatening problem.
After only 75k miles my mb has a failing part that is well known amongst all mb dealerships. The cam shaft adjustment units both intake and exhaust have failed, causing me to undertake repairs in excess of $3k. For such a newer vehicle this is unconscionable and many dealerships around the phoenix area have known about this issue for awhile and have expressed shock that this hasn't been a recall issue yet.i knew there was an issue with my mb when i started it up and there was a rattling noise coming from the engine portion of the vehicle. Each shop and dealership i've taken it to have noted it and have stated that repairs range from $3k to $4.8k. Simply unacceptable.i am hoping the nhtsa will investigate and recall this car for this issue as it is a well-known issue and needs to be addressed.

While driving on i-5 north coming from la jolla, my vehicle stopped accelerating, and suddenly stops in the middle of a busy freeway. I turned off the engine, then restarted after five second. After restarting my vehicle it started running again. This has happened three times already, and have brought my vehicle to the service center(on each occasion). Service report indicate transmission error. At times, the "slippery road" sign on my dashboard would blink even though the weather is hot or has not rain for ages.
Rattling noise coming from engine at startup. Diagnosed as defective cam timing adjusters @ 65000 miles. This apparently an on going problem with this particular part(s) and causes major engine damage. Repair costs range from $3000 - $5000 and more if the engine is ruined.
On multiple occurrences the vehicle has started to misfire at random times and speeds ranging from 45-70 mph resulting in "limp mode" or a stalling condition. The check engine light comes on, but will not be on when the vehicle is restarted. The dealership on no occasion has been able to duplicate my concern although others have been in the car to witness. I feel very unsafe driving the vehicle as when it stalls on the highway, i lose steering and brakes as well.
This was not an accident, it is, in my opinion, a possible safety problem with the vehicle - turbo lag; throttle lag; transmission lag.i almost had two accidents due to the lag problems, and have attached a more detailed analysis for your review. Turbo lag: this is the time it takes for the car to go from its naturally aspirated power to the full power of the car at full boost/ peak boost is reached relatively low in the reverse range, but it is not instantaneous power like a naturally aspirated engine.throttle lag: the drive by wire system has a bit oflag. Under certain conditions, i measured it at .2 of a second or so. Whatever the value, there is always lag there, and we are very sensitive to it. However, driving ins mode vs e mode does make somewhat of a difference. Nonetheless, the car always starts out in e mode when i get in and start the car. We didn't purchase the car to always drive in s mode.transmission lag: this i notice significantly and it is, in my opinion, probably the most annoying to me. You'll notice this when stomping the pedal to the floor and then doing the wait... Wait... Wait.. Downshift. Even if this engine was running only on its naturally aspirated four cylinders, the transmission should respond immediately to a sure footed stomp to the floor with the quickness, as does my four cylinder rav-4. However, the mb c-250 does not! in my opinion, you can reset the tcu all you want, the delay will remain.
Received message to check left tail light, brake light, back up light and turn signal.i purchased new bulbs to replace.when i pulled out the bulb carrier, i noticed that the area near the wiring had melted and there was discoloration.i can't even remove the plug housing from the carrier because of the damage.i noticed that there was a recall in older models for the same exact issue.
The contact owns a 2012 mercedes benz c250. While driving, the turn signal was activated when a warning indicator light slightly illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection, where the contact was advised that the dimness of the turn signal was common for the model year vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The failure mileage was 320.updated 07/25/12*ljthe consumer stated the problem was with the turn signal control light. It was hardly visible in the day light and in the sun. The service dept stated the new model has a new electronic dash which comes in one new circuit panel . Updated 07/25/12
The contact owns a 2012 mercedes-benz c250. The contact stated that the tail lights failed to illuminate, including the turn signals and brake lights. The contact attempted to replace the tail light bulbs himself and found that the tail lamp assembly had partially melted. The vehicle was taken to mercedes-benz euro motor cars (7020 arlington road, bethesda, md 20814, 301-986-8800) where the tail lamp holders and rear wiring and bulbs were replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v177000 (exterior lighting). The manufacturer provided partial reimbursement for the repair. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.consumer stated it should be covered as the c250 is the same car as the c300 included in this recall. The difference is the engine size and year (2012 vs 2011).
The cel came on and the engine was having a rough start . I took it to the repair shop and after using the star diagnostic system the diagnoses was camshaft adjusters in failure.the remedy replace the camshaft adjusters. Cost $3500.00.

I first noticed this problem about 2 years ago. I was on the highway getting ready to pass a big rig. About 2 seconds after i excelerated i noticed that i lost power to the engine and the check engine light turned on. I kept my foot on the pedal hoping to regain power to pass the big rig. I had no such luck. Shortly after i had vehicles behind me having to slow down because my car wouldn't excelerate to the desired speed. I finally made my way out of the highway to check my engine. I couldn't see a problem but the check engine light stayed on and the loss of power continued. I had to drive my car home slow. The next day i noticed that the check engine light had turned off and i was able to drive the car normal.the loss of power in that situation was scary and could have gone a lot worse. I know i am not the only one who has experienced this problem. I have seen blogs and youtube videos who describe similar experiences. Please help find a solution before someone is seriously hurt do to this problem.
Auto only has 56k miles and fuel pump went out, auto stalled in city traffic 2 times in motion,no warning on issue unexpected due to low mileage on auto.no engine code till 200 miles after first stall, engine light finally came on, then second stall happened. Had code read p008a triggered. Took to personal mechanic for testing and repair. Had the system tested for the relay, the filter and it was the fuel pump. First occurrence03/19/2019 second occurrence 03/23/19.
P0002 fuel volume regulator control circuit range/performancemercedes c250, if i'm experiencing a lack of power when i press the gas pedal and i'm getting a p0002 check engine light, there's a high probability that i will need a new hpfp high pressure fuel pump.
Power loss when accelerating.i pulled out in traffic and accelerated but...i loss power and almost got run over from the oncoming traffic!!! major safety issue. Engine light comes on! this is a horrible issue for anyone that has experienced this problem. I'm hoping there hasn't been any fatalities do to this problem.

Cold engine vehicle jerking i took it to mercedes of fort myers fl and they told me that they couldn't find the problem and i took it to so many other places and still can't find it i'm just wondering if it could be a recall
When i'm driving the car seems to loose power then it accelerates like it hit turbo power and the engine light comes up. It only has 57000 miles.when i drive it on eco it runs fine and when i change to s start giving problems. The car feels like it stalls, almost as if it's getting no fuel.my mechanic advise me to get in touch with you and see if you can advise me on what to do with it, because it shouldn't be happening. The acceleration issues with this vehicle present an imminent threat to safety of both driver and other vehicles.

Whenever a passenger is seated in the rear seat (either side) and the car is braked or experiences a bump in the road, the seat belt locks and starts to tighten thereafter with a ratcheting sound each time the passenger moves even a little bit. This tightening continues until the passenger starts suffocating from the pressure. When this happens, the only option is for the passenger to unbuckle the seat belt and start over. But then the process repeats itself. My family members now either refuse to ride in the back seat or they do not buckle the seatbelt and hold it in their hand instead. Obviously this is a safety issue that could result in serious injury in case of an accident.i have taken the car to 2 different dealers on 4 occasions but each time they have told me that the seat belts are working as designed. I have asked owners of 2 other mercedes cars of similar make and model and they have assured me that this problem does not happen in their cars. I have escalated this issue to mercedes directly but they have redirected me to one of the dealers and now i can't even get them or the dealer to respond to my emails.
I brought my2012 mercedes c250 new and i thought i was buying a quality car. However, i noticed last year the driver seat, passenger seat and one of backseat seat cover are ripped. I drive my car everyday to work and my daughter to school on a city street. My daughter weighs about 98 pounds and i weight under 170 pounds and no one sits in the backseat. I am so disappointed with mercedes benz company. I will be grateful if mercedes benz company will replace my seat covers please stand by your name as a quality company. .

At about 40,000 miles the parking brake began sticking and was difficult to release. This was replaced under warranty. It began happening again . I spoke to the mercedes usa and they said i would have o pay to replace it. I believe this part is defective.
The contact owns a 2012 mercedes benz c250. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, he attempted to engage the brakes but it failed to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the brake vacuum was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 25,000 and the current mileage was 30,000.
Brake failure. Driving vehicle on highway with a 75 mph speed limit. When i attempted to brake vehicle, i found i did not have any power brakes. Brake pedal was hard. Pressing the brake pedal as hard as i could did not do anything to slow down my vehicle. I did not have any ability to slow down vehicle. To avoid a collision, i put the vehicle in neutral, and down shifted gears.no alarms, or visual indicators came on to indicate a problem existed.car towed to the mercedes benz authorized dealership i have always had my car serviced at. Brake box sitting behind the motor had broke. No sensirs or fault us associated with the brake box. Visual check of the brake box is. It on any maintenance checklist.
Brakes failed to deploy, randomly, during recent trip; very dangerous; pressed brakes, would not engage and car kept moving and would not stop; pushed car into p (park) to stop moving; just completed a 225 mi trip from chicago to detroit metro area traveling at speeds between 65-70 mph with no issue, all service on vehicle is and has been conducted via mercedes authorized dealers, had vehicle in for service on morning of trip for overview and safety check prior to leaving and no known issues; after coming off freeway engaged brakes upon pulling into neighborhood and vehicle brakes failed completely-stopped engaging; no notification; no indicator lights or read out of issues related to brakes was indicated on dashboard; had we been on the freeway at the time of incident coming off an exit ramp at high speed we would have suffered a grave result, brakes failed completely. This is a danger and unacceptable for this manufacturer; vehicle has been towed to dealership, is not drivable, and is currently being assessed. This has been widely reported on other sites, regarding this specific vehicle, mercedes c250, my model year is 2012; i researched this issue, yesterday, to determine what could possibly have gone wrong as vehicle was not leaking fluids and no indication of issues during recent diagnostics and safety check two days prior. Not having sufficient braking capability with no warning or indication is dangerous, a liability to manufacturer and should be investigated immediately. Thank you.
I was driving on the highway at about 60mph in the left hand lane. I was about 7 car lengths from the car in front of me as i had just moved into that lane to move to the ramp to move off the highway. The vehicle in front of me braked, and was going at a lower speed. I tried to slow down and my car did not slow. I pressed my brake to the floor and my car still would not stop. I was able to pull to the shoulder and the car finally came to a stop close to the ramp, i thought it was an isolated incident except i saw on a website, others had the same problem.
The steering wheel ,has aluminum plating or covering, that was peeling off and cut my finger as i was driving, this happened last year and was still under warranty, and dealer replaced, this is happening again, and the dealer has agreed to replace even though the warranty has expired.i thought you guys should know.

He also stated the cruise control was in a hidden area as well.
The contact owns a 2012 mercedes-benz c250. While driving approximately 65 mph, a sudden loud booming noise was heard. The contact noticed that the sun roof exploded. There were no injuries. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 35,000. Consumer stated it would cost $8,000 to repair. Vin is not valid.
Cam shaft adjusters went out and had to be repaired for normal use and drivers side door handle broke on the inside and needs to be replaced due to regular use.
I was driving my 2012 mercedes c250 through an intersection on 08/09/2021 when i first heard clunking noises in the rear of my vehicle. Every time i placed my foot on the brakes after that it continued to clunk until i took it to the mercedes dealership for repair on 08/17/2021. The car had about 57,000 miles on it and was only nine years old, but the dealership said that the entire rear subframe of the vehicle had rusted and was close to completely separating from other parts of the vehicle. This was the first time i heard of any rusting in my vehicle, despite having the 2 rear tires replaced and alignment by the same place on 10/02/2020 (less than one year before). The service rep acknowledged that the car was well-maintained and that this was not due to any accident. This rusting was due to a manufacturing defect and has caused accidents in other mercedes vehicles (https://www.carproblemzoo.com/mercedesbenz/c300/suspension-problems.php). It has resulted in recalls of rusted parts in both europe (https://europe.autonews.com/article/19981026/ane/810260839/mercedes-offers-guarantee-against-rust-for-30-years) and canada (https://www.wheels.ca/news/mercedes-benz-recalling-vehicles-for-rust-problems/). Had i been travelling at a higher rate of speed when this piece failed, i could have been at risk of serious injury. This event occurred without any warning lamps or messages. The service for replacement and realignment was quoted at $4,358.71. Only after much argument did i receive a final bill of $3448.71. This was an unbelievable cost for replacing a part with a manufacturer defect. Mercedes headquarters tried to claim that the issue was due to exposure to snow and salt on the roads. This region rarely gets any snow. This lack of care for customer safety along with the fact that the dealership did not retain the part they removed from my vehicle after i had requested them to do so, left me realizing that mercedes doesn't care about safety standards for their products.

The air suspension is faulty and leaks. I have had the since 2013 and the suspension has been replaced on all for wheels within days of each other. Costing thousands of dollars in parts and labor.

My drivers side door handle on the inside does not work. I never had any problems prior to this. I drove to my appointment, got out of my car normally. Upon returning to my car i noticed my door handle looked loose, then could no longer open my door from the inside. I have to roll down my window in order to open my door on the outside, which is extremely irritating. The cost to repair is over $1,000 which i do not believe is my responsibility to pay far. I am scared to have my kids in my, in case an accident does occur and i cannot exit the vehicle. After searching this problem i have learned that it is extremely common in these models. This is obviously on mercedes to recall for your valued customers safety.
The car rattles and shake when starts which cause the emissions system to work harder and send out fumes.
Check engine light is on and upon quick accelerationthe car misfires and begins to shake.also having water come through top frame when it rains
I have grandchildren frequently in my car and have been anious for more than a year without a remedy or repair to correct the problem from stress and worry of injury/death to myself or family or friends. Will you provide me with a safe vehiicle to drive/transport until repair is done.
