The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 76v179000 (structure); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was towed to mercedes-benz of birmingham (1800 montgomery hwy, hoover al) and they confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and informed the contact that the new parts were not being manufactured and the recall had expired. The vin was invalid. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
