Also, both visors have melted off the cables. Again, i have called but they are telling me that it is my problem to fix. After reading several complaints of the same problem, i really don't believe it's something that i've done wrong.

I purchased a 2007 mazda rx-8 new from a mazda dealer. I started noticing that the dashboard on the passenger side starting cracking around the area where the air bag is located. I have reached out to ocean mazda and to mazda usa. No one took the time to call me back. I am very upset and concerned that the air bag may deploy without warning since the dash is cracked or worst case scenario that the air bag will not deploy correctly when in a collision. This very is in great condition with very low miles and should not have a dashboard that only cracks around the perforation lines of the passenger side airbag.
The passenger side dashboard area is all cracked up ad split open. There is no reason for it to be cracked or split. The cracking following the shape of the airbag that is underneath the dashboard. It has very jagged edges and exposes the airbag to excess light and moisture by being split open in so many places. The dashboard structure is now weakened due to all of the cracks. An explosion from the airlock would be more powerful than necessary because it no longer needs to break through the plastic. This appears to be a safety concern. Dealers only state it as a cosmetic concern and do nothing to correct it.

I have a 2007 mazda rx-8 and i was recently involved in a side impact collision, but my airbags did not deploy, but later on in the body shop, they did deploy after the fact while it was being driven. There is an obvious safety issue related to this and why the airbag did not deploy properly.
Passenger side airbag area, cracks in dashboard, in a square like shape. Afraid it may deploy, without having a wreck. Has become a distinctive square, circle shape. This has happened over the summer of 2015. I got a recall letter for driver airbag, which will be taking care of that with mazda in next few weeks, but more concerned about passenger airbag, because my 13 yr old daughter is always in passenger seat.
Passenger side dash where the airbag would come through upon inflation has cracked over time. I feel that this may be a safety issue if the airbag were to inflate in an accident, that the compromised seals will cause fragments to dislodge and hit ocupants. I've contacted the local dealership as well as mazdausa and was told it's not a problem and the part couldn't be replaced under warranty. Please advise.
Front driver airbag did not deploy.

I was driving my 2007 mazda rx-8/6 speed. I was in 2nd gear shifting into 3rd gear when my clutch pedal broke off. I had to slam on the brakes to stop the car in gear and have it towed to the dealership. I'm currently renting a car and the dealership is telling me it will be around 10 days to fix it. The biggest problem is that my clutch was damaged and the dealership won't replace it. Out of pocket costs are at 1,700.00$ right now.
My clutch pedal snapped while driving in traffic on a highway
As i tried to shift gears from 2nd to third the clutch pedal 'clicked'and it wouldn't go into gear.i was in traffic and it was a little concerning.i was going approximately 35 mph.the pedal is stuck halfway and won't go into gear now

Clutch pedal assembly snapped while driving at slow speeds. Only able to get car into gear while pushing pedal down and to the left. Could have been incredibly dangerous at higher speeds.
I was driving on i4, and went to shift from 4th gear to 5th gear; i heard a snap and the clutch pedal went to the floor. I then had about 2 inches of travel in my clutch pedal. The clutch pedal breaking is a known issue with mazda rx8s.no, i do not have a heavy duty clutch.

Clutch pedal welding is weak and breaks while driving also has trouble with cooling system.
Clutch pedal is creaking on my 2007 mazda rx8. It looks like 1 of the welds broke and my clutch pedal is barely working.
Clutch pedal mount broke and damaged master clutch cylinder.
I was sitting in the car in the parking lot of my job and the steeringcolumnmoved while in the locked position and i left the parking lotand was driving home and a piece of the steeringcolumn broke and fell and hit my right leg as i was driving down the road i called mazda usa and they had the car picked up and towed to the nearest dealership to be diagnosed on 11-14-2017 i received a call on 11-17-17 stating that the car is out of warranty and they were not going to fix the steering issue this is the first time i have had a steering column break on any vehicle i've ever owned i have a car that is 30 years old with the original steering column in it it is a huge safety concern the car is not safe to drive in it's current condition
When the vehicle is in motion, turning and sometimes stationary, the steering wheel jerks turning to the right when at full lock and is sometimes very hard to steer in both directions. Applying brake pressure and releasing does not affect it. I believe the electronic power steering rack is the cause of the issue.
The power steering on the car started to reduce and become much more difficult to turn when just off of center.turn further and it will regain its power back to center.it then will do it again when you start another attempt at turning.i am afraid that it may go out completely which i have heard has happened to other similar cars.this needs to be checked as it can be very serious as it can occur at any speeds and result in an accident.thanks
We have owned this 2007 mazda rx-8 for 3 years. We bought it for our son to drive, and he drives it daily to work and to school.the clutch pedal bracket has broken 3 times, and each time caused considerable difficulty in safely driving the car home, or to the dealer for repair. I came very close to being in an accident driving the carto the dealer for repair the second time the failure occurred.each time the bracket has broken, the dealer (hiley mazda, huntsville, al) replaced it for no cost, as mazda extended the warranty on the part to 8 years / 100,000 miles. But, each time they replaced the bracket with exact same part. So, the same inadequate design fails again and again. I believe mazda should have redesigned this part after it first became apparent it was problem, not just replace it with the same inferior (and unsafe) part.this defect was investigated by safecar.gov in 2009-2010 (reference nhtsa action number pe09045). I believe this is what prompted mazda to extend the warranty.the clutch pedal bracket broke, and was replaced the first time on 10/15/13, with 78,586 miles on the car.the second failure and replacement occurred on 4/23/14 with 83,115 miles (only 6 months later !).today (7/13/15), the bracket broke again with 93,560 miles on the car. It is currently at the hiley mazda, huntsville, al dealership for repair.my wife and i are writing to enlist the help of the nhtsa to resolve this issue.since we do not have the money to purchase another car for our son, we feel that mazda needs to satisfactorily address this safety issue.thank you for your attention in this matter.[xxx] and [xxx][xxx]madison, al35758[xxx] or [xxx][xxx]@knology.net[xxx]@gmail.cominformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

The contact owns a 2007 mazda rx-8.in september of 2008, both the driver's and passenger side visors cracked at the seams and fell down.the dealer replaced the visors with new ones that were manufactured in the same manner.the failure recurred and the dealer expected her to pay for new, poorly made visors.on july 6, 2008, while driving at an unknown speed, the driver's side visor fell down in her face and nearly caused her to strike a curb.the contact stated that this is a safety issue if the visor impairs the driver's vision.she stated that a recall should be issued instead of a tsb.through online research, she discovered numerous consumers who were experiencing issues with their visors falling down while driving.the contact stated that mazda simply remedies the failure with the same poorly made visors.the failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 37,368.
