Having problems getting the car to start. Started w/ intermittent delayed starts and now escalated to not starting at all for 1/2 hour and then finally started.

I purchased a 2000 millenia millenia model that only has 39,000 miles on it.in october, 2003 my car mis-fired and the check engine light came on.the diagnosis was that the ignition coil for cylinder #2 was bad and needed replacing.at that time, mazda customer service paid for the part and i paid for the labor.a few days ago (six months later), an identical situation occurred and the diagnosis was that the ignition coil for cylinder # 6 was bad and needed replacing.the dealership called mazda inquiring about restitution, but this time, the company paid for nothing.i am very concerned about two things.first, what is the defect in my vehicle to precipitate the failure of two ignition coils in close succession?is this an engineering defect?further, am i going to have to go through this process for all 6 cylinders of my car engine?right now, i feel that i cannot trust my car for fear of a repeat occurrence with one or more of the other cylinders. Second, if i have to replace all the coils, i figure that the investment will be between $1500 and $2000 to fully fix the car.this is an extraordinary expense to fix what i consider an engineering problem!is there a "product recall" or "special service program" to assist with paying for fixing this problem?ideally, i should have all of my ignition coils replaced in order to have a trustworthy car again.in summary, i believe that this is an unsafe situation and wanted to report it to you.thank you.

Keys got jammed in ignition, took to dealer where car was purchased new, service claimed that tab on shifter lever lock is broken. Possible sugar concentrate found on shifter assembly caused problem, car can shift out of park without stepping on brake.(vechile is unsafe to drive). Asked to shown the sugar , service claimed car is put back together. Never had any major spill in front of car.asked to contact mazda for warrantyproblem #804889 never called back. Took dealead to court after consulting with few local repair shops stated its impossiblefor metal to break from sugar, which judge agree with but dealed stated warranty is mazda responsibilty, judgask service manager to contact mazda to get them to honer warranty and fix car, cost is $700.00also if manufacture realize that the lever break from any expected spill they should seal it or cover it . Mazda still refuses to comply with judge s recomandation and have to take them back to court. I need an expert opinionon the matter and dealer should be liable to fix defects since it resulted of the unsafe driving conditions that i have experiancing for the last two month.

I own a 2000 mazda millenia s model. My millenia has the lysholm supercharger (s/c). Recently, the car has begun to blow blue smoke out the exhaust pipe at startup. The smoke at startup last for about 15-30 seconds. I took the car into the local mazda dealer. The mazda mechanic removed the front intercooler and front intercooler pipe. The mechanic said there was oil in the intercooler and the intercooler pipe. He said this indicates the lysholm s/c is leaking. He said the lysholm s/c has a bad seal. Yet, he said he has never taken a lysholm s/c apart and does not know which seal is leaking. He said mazda just replaces the entire lysholm s/c. A new lysholm s/c is approx. $7000 cad. My car has the 5 yr /100,000km (62,500 miles)power train warranty. The power train warranty states it covers "..all internal parts"...and "..all gaskets and seals..". The seal failed inside the s/c, therefore i believe the s/c seal and its replacement should be covered under the power train warranty. Mazda disagrees with me, though mazda is willing to pay 50% of the cost of a new s/c. Mazda has issued an m-tip (similar to a tsb) for problems with oil leaking from the s/c. The remedy is to replace the s/c. I feel mazda knows the s/c is prone to leaking prematurely.

We own a 2000 mazda millenia that stalls at about 50 mph and has had this problem since we bought the car.we have taken the car in for servicing numerous times, but have not been able to get this fixed.the car has several other problems such as:keyless entry does not work, heated seats do not work, air conditioner does not work; however, none of these pose a safety problem like the stalling.the engine light remains on even after numerous attempts by the dealership service department to repair this problem.

When starting the vehicle at a cold start, after the engine was cooled, white smoke emitted from the tail pipe.*scc

Vehicle has been to dealerships on numerous occasions for the tcs off and tcs and check engine lights appearing on dash.when this occurs vehicle has serious driveability problems and is very dangerous to drive in traffic situations. It is currently at the dealership for the 4th attempt to fix/repair this problem.vehicle has been out of service a total of 20+ day's in 9 months and 9 day's in the year of 2002.

The first failure occurred on 2/2001.there have been 4 more since that date.dt

The ignition coils in my car are going bad. One right after the other. Mazda told me that the heat of the engine (miller cycle) is causing this. I think the engine was poorly designed. There are 6 coils & i have replaced 3 so far, 1 in 12/04 & 2 in 4/06 along with all the plugs. This problem started in 2002 when cylinder #4 was misfiring. Mazda replaced the spark plug. The coil in cylinder #4 was the first coil to go bad. The original plugs were champion. I was told these were the wrong plugs especially for this type of high performance engine. Mazda said to expect to replace the other 3 coils. & then what? do we start over again? my car only has 32,000 miles on it. Both catalytic converters have been replaced. I think mazda should do something to correct the design of this engine to allow the coils more air.

Last year my car started to emit gas fumes as soon as i started to drive it. After driving for a few minutes the smell went away. I have taken it to the dealer many times. Each time they told me it was a sensor which cost me three- four hundred dollars. However the problem has never stopped.

I was pulling into a parking spot in front of the grocery store, when the car started to rev up the engine and drive at speed hitting a supporting column in front of the store.the car jumped the cement block and front was on sidewalk. Passenger side front fender, wheel, smashed. Accelerator stuck.

Fuel cuts out to engine at 2000-2500 rpm. Results in severe bucking and no capability to accelerate, creating a very dangerous condition. Has occured at different speeds from 20 to 50 mph. Condition then persists at any speed but clears itself when restarting engine. Has happened 3 times at intervals up to 4000 miles. Dealer has verified the fault but is unable to recreate or further diagnose. Attempts at repair have been guesses. Concerned about the reliable safety of the vehicle.

The first time i had a problem with the door locks the l/r door would not open. After some time i was able to open the door by manually holding the unlock button while pulling on the door handle. A few months later the r/r door would not unlock. I could not unlock the door from either inside or outside, this makes 2 doors inoperable. Some time later, the r/f door won'tunlock or open from outside. The r/f door can be opened by holding up on the unlock button and pulling on the inside door handle . This makes 3 doors down, also, door locks make a whining noise, what a death trap. I am 72 years old and i have never in my life seen anything like this. I was told that repair cost would be about350.00 per door. Thank you.

Dt*:the contact stated the passenger side door actuator broke and the door will not open from the inside.to exit the vehicle, the passenger must exit from the driver's side.the local dealership was contacted and offered to repair the actuator.the price was $400.00 per door.the contact repaired the door at the cost of 220.00 now, the rear doorwas making the same noise made by the front door, indicatingthe door is ready to fail.the repair is expensive and unpredictable. The actuators could fail at any time and lock one in the vehicle. The contact felt it was dangerous and unsafe.

Consumer experienced multiple problems with this vehicle anddealer was aware of them.while driving the hood unexpectedly opened.this caused the windshield to shatter. Consumer was able tomaintain control of the vehicle, and pulled over.while shifting consumer noticed that the gears engaged slowly, then hesitated. Then,a winding squeaking noise wa heard coming from the transmission, andtransmission light appeared on the dashboard and remained on.while applying the brakes at any speedbrake pedal went to the floor. Abs braking light appeared, as well. Consumer took vehicleto dealer more than one occasion, butproblem recurred.

I have a recurring transmission failure on my mazda mellenia 2000.while driving ,the car will down shift rapidly and cause a quick decrease in operating speed.when this occurs the "hold" light will begin to flash and will continue until the car is brought to a complete stop.the dealer says they cannot duplicate this problem.i am forced to operate a vehicle that is not safe due to this rapid deceleration.
