Failure of the the air bag, consumer was involved in a head-on collision and the driver and passenger side air bags did not deploy.
Was sitting at gas station filling car with gas the driver's and passenger's side air bags deployed and cracked the windshield .
My wife and her parents and i were cruising along a state highway at approximately 35 mph when we heard a loud noise and both airbags deployed. I was driving and my father in law was in the front passenger seat. The airbag hit me in the arm and across the abdomen leaving cuts, and severe concussion as well as burns. Three weeks prior i had surgery on my shoulder for a torn rotor cup. My shoulder may be reinjured. My arm appeared to be broken but was not. My father in law had cuts and burns to his face.powder from the airbags filled the car completely before i could get the car stopped .my wife had bronchitis at the time and i have emphysema. There was no reason for the airbags to deploy.
While driving and pulling to a traffic light, reached for sunvisor, flipped up mirror, and both airbags deployed while sitting still. No type of impact occurred. Dealer contacted, and stated vehicle not under warranty, problem could not be remedied. Problem still exists. Provide further information.

Steering wheel will not lock and key will not come out of the ignition.was successful on a number of occasions to remove key only after car has sat for a minimum of about 2 hours, then key will release easily. Keys are not damaged and each key gets stuck for an indefinite period of time, causing wear on the battery. Clock remains on. Key stuck between "lock" and "acc" position.
Computer box that controls the traction system, causes the vehicle to slow down unexpectedly.also,traction light comes on which may cause a crash.

I bought this 1995 mazda millenia [xxx] in march. By the time i bought it, the odometer read 65000+. Later on because i had a lot of problems with it, i asked the repair shop to check it's background for me. The carfax report they forwarded to me showed in 2002 it was already 185000. The shop manager told me there were too many issues with the car and it's not worth fixing. From march till now, i've spent close to $1000 to fix various failures on the vehicle. I took my car into the dealer for front in wobble / noise andengine oil consumption. 3 weeks and $1980 later, the front end was worse and i was told that the oil is burning internally and needed to be replaced. Neither the dealer nor mazda would work with me to get back some of the money. 3 months later, the transmission failed with no warning. This car is dealer maintained.

Within a weekto 10 days the car was repaired and delivered to me on 12/24/98.i drove the car for about a thousand miles. One day while driving to work the car started making some funny sound. I pulledover to side of the road and checked the dip stick . The dip stick showed low oil . I exited the parkwa,y heading to the nearest gas station, i fill the engine with the necessary amount of oil, the car never started again.according to the mechanic, the engine stopped . The last oil change was on 10/31/98.also the mechanic stated that there was more miles on the car than was stated on the odometer disclosure statement.

Transmission has serious leak.local dealer replaced transmission seals and rings which did not fix the problem.they now recommend replacement for over $4,000!!they charged me labor costs which i paid so i could get the car out.they took over 5 weeks to fail at the repair job.their best guess now is the transmission case hasa defective crack in it.

Seatbelt buckle on passenger's side completely fell apart onto consumer's hand, causing a loss of protection.
When pulled out manually, the seat beltfolds over upon itself when passing through the shoulder loop and the belt jams and stops moving.therefore, the shoulder/lap belt can not be latched into the buckle.i have called mazda motors usa at irvine ca at 800-222-5500 to inform them of the problem.they refuse to take any action to solve the problem which i believe is caused by either making the belt too thin (which causes it to fold over on itself when passing through the loop) or the configuration of the plastic shoulder loop slot itself (which is not the proper sizedopening) is not correctly sized to allow the belt material to pass smoothly and unhindered through the plastic shoulder loop.this failure of the manual belt mechanism to pass through the shoulder loop may cause the driver not to buckle up the safety belt.this can potentially cause the death of the occupant in the event of a vehicle collision.you are hereby notified of this potentially deadly safety issue with regard to safety belts.

I was advised that the cv axle boot was starting to crack and that replacement was necessary in order to avoid axle problems.i immediately had the boots replaced.a short time later, i started experiencing a vibrating/shaking in the front end that resembled a "flat tire".after being charged a $50.00 diagnostic fee, it was determined that the left and right axle shafts needed replacing.the vehicle had less than 80,000 miles and for an automobile of this type, this type of failure did not seem normal.at my request, i was given the parts removed and have them available for examination.i wrote to mazda customer service but was advised that since the car was out of warranty, there was nothing they could do.the repairs and correspondence took place in oct. & nov. 1998.i recently read in consumer reports that you maintain a database of consumer complaints and decided i needed to document my problem.please contact me if you need further information or would like to examine the defective parts.thank you.jean calderwood

Engine failed.oil pressure sensor failed.loss of engine oil through sensor.no warning.engine ended up 2 quarts low.last oil change was at 81,000 or on march 4, 2000.excessive oil around spark plugs.also had to replace cv boot at around 80,000.

She is 20 and trying to make it on her own.shouldn't car dealers know if they are selling recalls.shouldn't the mazda dealer know about this.we took it to a mazda dealer first.the price of repair is outrageous. On 2 separate occasions there was a crack on the inside of the left rear and right front wheel, without cause.which could have caused a tire blowout.
