Takata recall.it has been almost 1 year since the recall of the passenger airbag and there is still no replacement available.during the past year, we can not seat any passenger in the front passenger seat.

Headlight on both sides go out often. After having this issue far too many times, i looked online hoping to find a solution and discovered multiple mazda owners are having same problem. Its a malfunction in the mazda that needs to be fixed by mazda. This is extremely dangerous at night to have happening way to often.as for the air bag-ive had my mazda to a mazda dealership for the recalls and the air bag was kne of them. Since then, twice now, the 'airbag/front seat belt pretensioner system malfunction' light is flashing while driving.i looked it up, and by the sounds of it, my airbag is malfunctioning?!another dangerous situation on the mazda 6.

Takata recallthere have been 3 recalls with this vehicle i bought new; takata is 1 of the 3:1.takata airbags:metal shrapnel in airbags when deployed, reportedly 2. Door lock screws are unsafe; need to be checked/replaced;3. Dashboard has been recalled due to turning into a sticky nasty looking mess. The whole right side (passenger side) has become so sticky that dust, cloth, everything sticks to it, and it cannot be cleaned.what's really awful is that the dealership where i bought the car now no longer sells mazdas.the first 2 situations are dangerous; & the 3rd is horribly unsightly.mazda has sent out recalls for all 3.where do i take this car?

My mazda was recalled due to air bag inflator that could explode resulting in sharp metal fragments striking the passenger or other vehicle occupants. When i called my mazda dealer to get it in to be fixed i was told the parts are on back order at mazda and they could not give me an eta on when they would get parts in. How can mazda allow it's customers to continue driving their car with no recourse to give us a rental car in the meantime if they can't fix an issue that i would consider extremely serious and needing to be fixed immediately? my wife is pregnant and we have a toddler who rides in a carseat in the backseat and we now feel unsafe to drive our car. I would expect this matter to be taken much more seriously than it is. I'm very disappointed in mazda and the way this recall is being handled.

There are two recalls open for my vehicle and for none there are no parts available in any dealer.my mazda 6 2010 has a passenger air bag inflator recall and a melter dashboard recall.both create safety hazards for me and my family yet the melted dashboard has been an issue for over two years and i am still awaiting from mazda the second letter they promised to send me to take the vehicle to repair.the rubber or plastic that is melting is converting into a glue like substance that gets on my cloth seats and worst of all, in my windshield which causes glare and disrupts my vision.i end up having to remove it with other material that causes my windshield to become sticky.the material ends up in my steering wheel resulting in additional safety issues.i have tried to sell the car but no one will buy it in that condition.i have been patient for two years but at this point it is unreasonable the amount of time that i had to wait.i own another mazda but fortunately it has not had similar issues.the situation is abusive and should have been resolved already.if mazda cannot fix it in a timely manner they should be providing a replacement vehicle temporarily due to the safety concerns.i just contacted ocean mazda in miami and the service dept. Confirms that they still do not have the parts for both recalls.it is insulting!i am sending an email flash to 21,000 + service providers that the company that i work for has in their data base so that they become aware of the issue and stay away from mazda and their vehicles.

"takao a recall". I received a notice of this recall in july of 2016. It told me that i would be notified when the local dealer had parts to fix the defect. In july of 2017 i had my car at the dealer for other repairs and i asked about the recall. I was told that parts were not available and not to worry about it.

Takata recall i received a notice in the mail for the recall and that there hasn't been a replacement made by the manufacturer. I have also been noticed of a recall on the passenger dash board melting, disintegrating, etc. And there is also not a replacement made either. I contacted the mazda dealership in trussculle, alabama and i was told that i would be notified when the replacement dash is available and i have yet to receive a call. That was 2 years ago.

I started noticing cracks on the dashboard on the passenger side where the airbag deploys. My vehicle was stationary when i noticed ththe cracks the following morning. I am concerned that the airbag might accidentally go off with the slightest vibrations or closing of the vehicle doors.

Passenger side dash started melting about a year ago and has gotten so bad the dash is almost liquid. Sunlight reflects off the shiny melted dash and blinds the driver. I was in an accident because i couldn't see due to light reflecting off melted dash.dash is so sticky that you cannot touch or it will stick to hands/ clothing. I have ruined multiple items of clothing due to this mess.

My passenger airbag cover has a crack going over the entire dashboard where the airbag is located. It was not there one day, and the next day it had a huge crack in it,after a very good winter night. The crack,is getting wider. I'm afraid the air bag is going to,deploy while driving.

Noticed the dashboard on the passenger was starting to get shiny. I checked and found the shiny area. I check to clean it and found it sticky. As i tried to clean it it began to separate as if it was tar. I am concerned about the safety of the passenger in regards to the airbag is under this dash and for the driver being blinded by the reflection of the melting dashboard as it is shiny. I checked with mazda and the said they were not responsible for it and would not cover any cost to fix it. My vehicle is a 2010 mazda 6. I feel the mazda should cover this because they sold a car with defective materials that can compromise the safety of the vehicle.

I got recall notice from mazda (safety recall 9516e) in the month of july 2016. Mazda dealership did not replace the airbag yet. Called mazda customer service, they pushed me to dealer and dealer is saying part is not available. I need your help to replace the airbag asap. Mazda is not behaving responsibly.

Takata recall, my alarm keeps going off randomly all throughout the day each day. The only way to get it to stop is disconnecting my battery while i'm not driving it which is not a viable option. My passenger airbag protector is also melting. Furthermore, i had to replace brake rotors before 100,000 miles was reached because my car would shake uncontrollably at any sort of braking speed

Takata recall- the recall notice on safercar.gov shows may 2016 and have not received an update that the parts are available at this time. The notification of not being able to have people ride in the front seat is not an option. This is the second such safety issue from mazda where my family's safety is being compromised.

I went to check on safercar.gov since i received a letter saying mazda would be replacing the dash due to glare condition potential (2015) to find updated status and also for air bag. The air bag issue is still incomplete for over 7 months. By vin look-up, i find two additional recalls for door latch and fuel tank in which i was unaware. Date on this complaint reflects first contact from mazda. Also, 4 interior items broken, including a cracked rear-view mirror.

The dashboard on the passenger side is made of a material that melts during hot sunny periods and takes on a reflective surface which acts like a mirror. When sunlight hits the surface not only is the sun reflected off the surface of the dashboard but it's also projected onto the windshield instantly blinding the driver of the right half of the entire windshield, turning the whole side of the windshield into yet another mirror bouncing direct sunlight into the eyes of the driver instantly blinding them. Visibility is substantially reduced and it becomes extremely difficult to see other motorists on the road. Also this melted dashboard is the surface of the passenger front airbag. Being that it's defective and melted one would be led to believe that the deployment of the airbag would also be effected or defective. The glare off of the airbag / dashboard and the projected light reflected off the windshield is constant all times when the sun is shining. This is not just dangerous it's deadly and a genuine hazzard to the operator of the vehicle, the passengers, and every single motorist and their occupants that pass by the defected car and every motorist who interacts with this defective mazda and the blind driver. This can kill people. Recall this deadly car, from this point forward if the recall is not mandated and someone dies just remember this department could have prevented it.

Takata inflators.we are a one car family and our mazda airbag was slated to be repaired in november but we still haven't received any info when the parts are going to be available. We couldn't even take our car on our honeymoon in november of this year. I know of other companies such as honda who are renting cars for there customers and mazda isn't even reaching out to our family but they are still taking our monthly payment. I know we aren't the only family affected by this but this is taking way too long and inconveniencing us in a bad way. Please look into this. We are concerned and frustrated by the lack of answers.

Takata recall-we bought a mazda 6 gran touring car in 2010, vin# [xxx]. It currently has only 65,060 miles. On july 2016 we received a notice that mazda corp. Decided that a passenger air bag inflator defect exists in our car and that there was a safety recall especially for cars in central florida because of consistent high humidity.in august we took the car to jenkins mazda in ocala where we bought it. They said that they would try to expedite the replacement because it would be dangerous to drive.in september the replacement still had not come so they asked us to store the car with them. Our car was there at the jenkins mazda car lot for more than 3 months. We did not use the car because we were afraid to drive it. Aaa came to the house and tested the battery and they concluded that because it was not used for several months the battery needed to be replaced. However, we noticed that the navigation screen was giving a message ?a program cannot be read. Please consult dealer.? we called [xxx] and they said comeback and while replacing the air bag part they would fix the navigation screen.on january 17 2017 the part was replaced, but they couldn?t fix the navigation screen. They then said that they would talk to their service rep in jacksonville about it.on february 10 after trading many phone calls with the [xxx] service mgr. In ocala, he said that after talking to his service rep in jacksonville the rep felt the screen is our responsibility and they wouldn?t repair it but instead put a new one in for $5500.i feel that the whole situation started with mazda?s defective air bag and the car being unused and inactive for almost 4 months sitting on the [xxx] mazda lot in ocala. A new battery had to be installed because the car sat on their lot a long time [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Takata recallregarding: mazda recall #: 9516enhtsa recall #: 16v-356recall datemay 27, 2016the status as of march 7, 2017, is that a remedy to repair is not available.mazda's recall information on its website states, and i'm paraphrasing, that we should not allow anyone to ride in the front passenger seat.it' been almost ten months, when is this remedy forthcoming?am i really not supposed to carry passengers in the front seat of my passenger car for almost a year now?are there any other financial or mechanical remedies available?the constraint of not being able to carry passengers in the front seat results in this personal passenger vehicle being useless in many situations it was purchased for.can you direct me with any alternatives that i can pursue?

Low beam intermittently turns off. Sometimes a firm slap on the headlight is a temporary resolution. I initially thought it was the bulb itself, had it replaced but the problem continued. There are lots of youtube videos on this issue. Mazda keeps telling that this is not a safety issue and they refuse to do anything. If they want to do business in the usa, they need to be safe or they need to go back to where they belong. This issue has been happening since 2014 (i bought this car in 2013)

I purchased this vehicle for my 16 yr old daughter 1 yr ago.the car has a clean carfax and has had no accidents. Upon purchasing the car the headlights continue to burn out.taking it to a mazda dealership i learned the headlight assembly unit was melting.i had to purchase 2 used headlight assembly because new from the dealership are 1,000 a piece. 2 used but perfectly working headlights were installed and within a yr the headlights had burned out again.i went to change the bulbs only to learn the headlight assembly were once again burnt.i have to purchase 2 new headlight assembly again but the mechanic can not guarantee that this burning situation won't occur. After calling around to places to find headlight assembly i have come to find out many are burnt.this seems like a real problem considering you need headlights to drive at night. Spending 1,000 everytime my headlights burn out seems 100% unreasonable and the fact that there is cleary a wiring issue within the headlight assembly unit itself seems to be a problem.i have been on multiple forums and this is a common issue. Please fix the problem!!!!!!

Both rear tire pressure sensors failed due to either over-tightening or corrosion. Both sensors snapped off right below the sensor stem cap causing both rear tires to deflate. On a newer car still under warranty, mazda claims sensors are only covered until 36000 miles. And they're not cheap either ($80 each, not including installation.)

The contact owns a 2010 mazda 6. While driving 40 mph, the door ajar warning indicator and the dome light illuminated independently. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and noticed that all the doors were closed. In addition, while at a stop light, the vehicle stalled and all the warning indicators illuminated. The contact turned off the engine, restarted the vehicle, and was able to drive; however, the failure recurred three times. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

Air conditioner drips on to engine cradle resulting in rot.

Vehicle was repaired as part of nhtsa campaign number: 11v134000 on 21 july 2011.however, vehicle's fuel tank cracked in april 2013 and had to be replaced at owner's expense.after smelling gasoline after fill up and noticing a puddle of gasoline in driveway in april 2013, owner had vehicle towed to mazda dealer for repair.dealer replaced tank on 15 april 2013.over the last year and several attempts, mazda has since declined to reimburse owner for repair and reprogram ecu per nhtsa campaign number: 14v114000.recall from july 2011 was supposed to eliminate the possibly of a cracked fuel tank, but it didn't.owner has pictures of cracked tank and dealer work orders from july 2011 and april 2013 and can provide if needed.owner worried that if the ecu isn't reprogrammed, the tank will crack again.

My car was parked, went inside store for a minute, came out and it wouldn't start. No lights prior, and i take meticulous care of my car. After a failed jump, tow was issued. The mechanic says it's a starter failure- at 42,000 miles on a brand new factory line car. Now mazda will not respond to complaints, and attempts at reaching any supervisors have been negated. Car has been immobile for over two weeks. 42,000 is a premature failure for a brand new factory part- and the car company should pay to replace a defective portion of the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2010 mazda mazda6. The contact was driving 2 mph and entering a residential driveway when the start/stop button was inadvertently engaged and the steering wheel locked. The contact stated that the start/stop button was located below the air conditioner button and the contact believed the location of the button was a safety hazard. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.

The low beam headlights on the car take turns going out for some reason. I have had the car for five years, bought it brand new and have had to replace headlight bulbs at least 8 times. I have read several other review about the same issue. This is a safety issue, if we to be driving at night and both headlights go out that would be very dangerous. Second issue: every winter when it gets colder the cars electronic system seems to run much slower and the blue tooth, cd player, etc. Will not connect and there has bee three instances where the car will make a loud popping noise while it is in motion and the whole stereo system, blue tooth, dashboard lights will power off and i'll have to reset up the blue tooth.

The low beam headlights on my 2010 mazda 6 keeps going out. I've replaced each light at least twice in the past 4 years. While i was driving last night, both headlights went out. I think mazda know that this is a problem in this vehicle but instead of fixing the root of the problem, they keep charging me $60 for each headlight bulb.

I was driving on the freeway after leaving class. After being on the freeway for about 5 minutes, the car starts to power down. All of the caution lights start to come on (ie: battery light, traction light, oil light and many others). As i get off the freeway, the car starts to lose more power, the fuel acceleration did not work as well and the steering became very hard because something happened to the power steering fluid. Then as i start to pull into a parking lot there is smoke coming from both sides of the closed hood. I put the car in park, turn off the acceleration, and pop the hood and i noticed it is on fire. I ran from car and called the fire department. After all is said and done, the car is totaled. I am not sure what components malfunctioned in the car which insurance is determining at the moment. This is a mazda defect!!!!!

Years of unexpected battery drain and rough starts which caused several other issues.different mechanic advised of a faulty body control module bcm.

Also, when removing the ignition key from the ignition switch, the metal section of the key would break off. The failure had not been diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired for either failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 40,000.

My son took my car to school. He was going to leave after school let out, he was going to give his friend a ride home. This is a 6 speed car. His friend got in the car on the passenger side, my son was talking to his brother, he was not in the car. My son had put the keys on the driver seat, his friend put the key in the ignition and turned the key to accessories to listen to the radio, the car had the emergency brake on, and it was in first gear. When he turned the key to listen to the radio the car took off!!!! i am not sure how fast it was going but it crashed into a tree and stopped. There was no driver!! there is a police report on this, and there were several witnesses. My son's friend hit his head on the windshield and it cracked the windshield. I contacted mazda headquarters to make them aware, and they seemed bothered that i even called!!!!! it is a miracle a kid was not walking by and was struck by this out of control car.

My wife was driving on the interstate at 70 mph when all of the sudden the car veered to the right causing her to go into the right lane as she was in the left lane. Thankfully no one was beside her and she was able to keep the car under control. She stopped and called me as i was at work to explain what had happened. She wasjust a few miles away from the exit in which we live just off the interstate so she was able to limp the car home. Later that evening when i went to look at it i noticed immediately that the passenger tire was pointing outward a little bit. I jacked the car up looking to see if a tie rod or control arm had broke only to find that neither had broke. I looked at the frame and seen how badly it was rusted and noticed it actually had broken apart and was shifted. This area of the subframe is directly under the a/c unit which drips straight down onto the frame area that is rotted. Which is obviously the reason the the frame rusted and broke and shifted causing the tire to point outward. Called mazda and they sent a tow truck to retrieve the car. Currently waiting on their inspection and a call from mazda corp to see if they will be covering the repair. After reading everyone else's issues with this very same problem i'm assuming mazda will tell me it's our problem. The car is only 8 years old and i've seen other's who's car are even newer and mazda is telling everyone it's not defective.i strongly disagree with it not being a manufactured defect when clearing the water from the a/c dripping down is causing all these subframes to rust much faster than any other part of the frame. We'll see what they say but i'm not holding my breath.... Seems as though we the people need to band together in a class action against mazda because this clearly is a problem for a lot of consumers. Pray no one ever gets killed do to loss of control when the frames do brk.

Fuel tank assembly ⁃ my vent line was clogged to where my fuel tank created a leak & then fuel tank collapsed while i was driving . I drove my car for 2 days without knowing & did not realize it until i was filling up gas into my car & i noticed the gas leaking profusely . I took my car to the dealership, in which i discovered that my fuel tank assembly was installed improperly.

Nothing has happened yet.there are two recalls but no one has contacted me about them.

When stopped at a stop light vehicle would begin to raise in temperature and a/c would shut off. This happened several times.brought vehicle to dealer and was told they couldn't do anything unless they saw the vehicle have the problem.

Car has 62,000 miles on it and lights have been replaced minimum 6 times since car bought with 28k miles. Access to bulbs requires mechanic to repair (getting up behind the wheel well) and cost can averages over $100 to replace. There is 88 nhtsa complaints on this same subject. What must we accomplished to hold mazda accountable?

Driver and passenger side headlights went out. It's not the fuse or the bulbs. This happened while driving at night forcing me to drive over two hours on back roads and freeway with my highbeams on to see.

Right front headlamp repeatedly goes out and it's neither the bulb nor the fuse! subsequently stuck driving home with high beams (to see well enough to navigate safely) but fearful the glare creates a safety issue for opposing traffic - a twofer!note; banging on the side of headlamp assembly with closed fist 'sometimes' has it come back to life. Looked online and - surprise, surprise - there are lots of complaints about this same thing! sadly, i'm afraid someone's going to get killed and i just hope not to be involved. Please read what others say about this here;http://www.carproblemzoo.com/mazda/mazda6/headlights-problems.php. . . And many more complaints on youtube

Low beam headlight lamps work inconsistently.they stopped working when vehicle was stationary and turned off.they worked when i last used car, but stopped working when i started the car the next day.this has happened multiple times over 3.5 years of ownership, and may be more susceptible to cold weather.several firm raps on the lens seems to correct the issue, but many people wont know about this and will take car in for servicing by mazda because replacing lamp requires you to remove wheel and wheel well in order to get access to the lamp.a dishonest mazda dealership would make lots of money on this!many people have similar issue as documented in the comments in this youtube video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqqperresa8

Headlights go out on both passenger and driver side far too often.sometimes a thump to the light cover or body by the headlight assembly will turn the light back on.the lights will eventually burn out far too often as well.i have replaced about 7 headlights since buying new.it is dangerous as both lights have gone off at night while driving.light will go off while driving and sometimes not turn on when started.there are even you tube videos with people having the same issues.this has been going on from about a year after new purchase.

Took my 2010 mazda 6 to the dealership for an oil change.as part of their safety check they reported that both of my low beam headlights were out.i was quoted $172.00 for replacing the bulbs.when i got home i went to u-tube to see how difficult this was to warrant the charge.one of the videos showed a mazda 3 owner with a similar problem, the passenger side low beam out. He tapped the outer lens with his fist and the light came on.i went out and tried the same on my mazda 6 and both headlights came on and were normal.it is obvious that mazda has a safety issue with there headlight wiring or connections.

Low beam headlights went out at 40,000 miles and have been replaced 2more times.yesterday, no low beam headlights again so i googled problem.over 170 reports on one site of same problem for various mazda models and years. Interestingly, the video on the site says if you rap the outer headlight casing the light comes on but may not stay on once car is shut off.this worked for virtually everyone on the site and myself.mazda must be aware of this problem but is doing nothing for consumers.also their engineering design makes replacing bulbs a $150 adventure as the average person can't do it themselves.

My brake rotors are completely warped! after 6 months of having my car my brakes have gone out multiple times, i don't not drive my car long distances or even on a daily basis. I can be going as slow as 25 mph and when i go to brake my car will start to shake (not much but noticeable) this is very dangerous due to the fact it can cause loss of control while braking. I have taken my car to the dealer and had it worked on under a "one time" warranty meaning they will maintenance the brake once at no cost to me. Each time i have gone or spoken to my dealer they say they can't figure out why it keeps happening and even said it could be normal wear and tear (which is not the case). I am apart of a regional mazda club and everyone with a mazda 6 (2009-12) seem to have the exact same problem with this.also, the tire pressure light stays on. Almost immediately after i purchased my car the light came on followed by the loud beeping sound that warns you that your tire pressure is low. I called my dealer and they looked at it and told my i just need air. Well the very next day the light came on and the loud beeping followed.a long with that my passenger seat air bag light keeps say that the air bag is off, and the passenger seat low beam headlight has issues with stay on.

Car system alarm goes off without notice.it will work fine for days then, the alarm will start to go off constantly.while driving at night, the interior car lights come on like a door is open.no indicator on control panel if door is open.then turns off lights inside car.it scares you as you think a door came open

I'm having problems with my head lights on my 2010 mazda 6. My head lights went out in november 2013 and i've changed the head lights out three times since within a 2 year time frame. I'm using the expensive sylvaniah7 silver star zxehead light bulbs and they're burning out. Also the seal around the head lights aren't secure because water and condensation has always been an issue with this car.

Low beam headlights turn off on their own with slight vibration, or knock that can be caused by either a pothole, bump in the road, or speed bump. I discovered on the internet that this, is a super common problem for all mazda 6 (second generation) owners, and they have to bang their fists on the headlight assembly outside the vehicle to turn them on. I tried this method as well, and it worked for me despite being dangerous.

If they want to do business in the usa, they need to be safe or they need to go back.

Passenger side headlight went out. It's not the fuse not the bulb. This was while driving forcing me to drive with my highbeams on so i could see.

The contact owns a 2010 mazda mazda6. The contact stated while driving into the residential driveway, the passenger side low beam headlight burned out. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 53,855 and the current mileage was 54,200.

Just purchased an used 2010 mazda 6 and the passenger low-beam headlamp is "out" until you give it a nice friendly tap. This at only 29,300 miles.went out again 9 days later and the tap is not working.went online and found this link with other owners having the same issue.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqqperresa8.

I bought a mazda 6 3 days ago and i replaced the headlight bulb because it wasn't working. When i opened the compartment i noticed that the entire u it was melting and smelled very hot. I had no turned on the headlights at this point and i removed the bulb from the electrical unit. This could have easily caught on fire.

The inner tail light lenses on both the driver & passenger side of my 2010 mazda 6touring are physically melting and becoming severely deformed.the outer, clear lenses are not damaged and the melting is originating in the vicinity of the bulbs. Car has not been altered from the mfg and bulbs are manufacturer recommended. Car has 48,000 miles on it and beyond the 36,000 mfg warranty therefore mazda will not replace them for free. I believe this is a supplier, design or manufacturing defect that can possibly cause a fire or reduced brake light visibility and this part should not melt. I have pictures and can send them as reference. A search of the internet showed a few other incidents with defective mazda tail lights on other models and years similar to this. I am uncertain how wide spread this situation is.pictures received. Updated 06/14/11

The contact owns a 2010 mazda 6. After being stopped by a police officer, the contact was informed that the red reflector lens in the tail lamps were missing. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact became aware that the tail light bulbs were extremely hot, which caused the reflectors to separate from the tail light housings. The dealer (mazda of jackson, 5397 interstate 55 north frontage rd, jackson, ms 39206, (601) 991-2222) was notified of the failure, but the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.

At take offs, my wheels spin like there is no traction and i feel like i have no control over my car. Also, while driving, i've had to exaggerate the turning of my steering wheel to change lanes, while parked and pulling out of a parking spot, when turning the steering wheel it sounds like something broke(cracking). This also brings up the brakes issue. I almost t-boned someone that ran a red light and stopped in the intersection. I had time to stop but my brakes didn't allow traction for my tires to stop and i was able to turn my steering wheel enough to swerve towarb the back of her truck and miss her.

The contact owns a 2010 mazda 6. The contact observed that the alarm on the vehicle continued to go off intermittently until it drained the battery. The vehicle was jumpstarted and taken to a local dealer (legend mazda, 12115 i-35, san antonio, tx, 78233, 210-564-6800) where it was diagnosed that the frontdriver and passenger door latches needed to be replaced. The frontal driver side door latch was replaced and the frontal passenger side door latch was in the process of being replaced. The vehicle was serviced per nhtsa campaign number: 13v425000 (latches/locks/linkages) in october of 2013 by the dealer (john hine mazda 1545 camino del rio s, san diego, ca, 92108, 888-714-7925). The recall remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was not contacted or made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 82,757.

My vehicle is automatic transmission and last weekend i was driving at the freeway with my family at 70 mph on cruise and all of a sudden we got big jerk from my vehicle and the vehicle rpm started increasing the same time first i thought someone hit me from back but the gladly the vehicle was in other lane and he honked at me. I then i sawd light disappear on the panel and the vehicle was in very high rpm mode. I didn't know what is happening i safely tried to pull on the right and stopped to see whats wrong but couldn't found anything. I turned off vehicle for a minute and started again. It worked fine for 5 min and as soon as i reached 55 or 60 mph the d light started blinking again and again i got high rpms and jerk. It almost had caused the accident as the other vehicle almost hit me from the back. It felt like engine braking. Then i drove very low spped on inner city road with my blinkers on to reach home safely. Now dealer is telling me that it will cost me minimum $3000 to replace the transmission. I think its a know issue to mazda and they should fix my vehicle transmission atleast. This vehicle is not safe to drive.

8/11/2018while merging from route 9 onto route 95, i heard a clank coming from the bottom of my car, didn't think since driving through deep flooding from current rainstorm.was oni-95 when steering seemed to go, veer to the right and brakes not catching. Was able to get off highway, regained control of car, went to my destination on rte 109. Drove, pumped breaks since i thought the problem was flooding & wet brakes.left to go to next destination & steering was off, so drove very slowly (steering off & had to keep turning to the left) once again thinking weather related. Exited 95 to spraugest. Dedham where brakes weren't working well, drove to friends in area and as i drove down hill, car lost steering and i landed up curb, brakes weren't working, put on emergency brake & finally stopped.friends house was around the corner so rolled down hill to her house to let car dry as still thought it was from flooding.left her house after an hour, drove two blocks and car completely lost all steering, lights on dashboard started flashing, brakes went.called aaa and was towed to steve's service station where on monday the car was deemed "totaled".the entire sub-carriage was covered in rust & corrosion, there were holes, pieces of metal from the car missing and major cracks all underneath and encasing the brakes and other part of car. Was told if i had gone a bit faster on 95, bottom would have fallen leading to serious accident.note:there are numerous complaints about this with mazda6 and mazda has done nothing.i cannot receivefinancial compensation from insurance since is corrosion and not collision that caused the problems.financial disaster.47k miles, one owner car.consults from mechanics said they have never seen anything like this on 8 yr old car. Appraiser said mazda known for rust problems - gave me websites to research to assist. Please help!

Car surges forward when you slow down or is stopping to park.

After connecting searbelt and moving in traffic the seat begins to move because seat belt is hooked on the lever that moves the seat into reclining position, very dangerous when in traffic and trying to reach break, gas, etc. This has happened on many occassions and takes me by surprise every time.

When i enter car and attach seat belt, at some point during starting out or in the process of going down the road, the seat will start leaning backwards due to the seatbelt being hooked around the lever to tilt the seat back. My feet no longer reach the gas or break pedal when this happens. I have been fortunate enough that it has not been the cause of an accident so far. It happens at any time after starting out or anytime during driving or in motion. Seems to be happening more often the longer i have had it.

The seatbelt is beginning to chaff and unravel. I have had much older and used vehicles before and never have i seen a seatbelt do this. It concerns me that it will detach completely in a collision if it gets worse. The vehicle is not abused and only has 90,000 miles. This is an ongoing issue and i am afraid it will only get worse.

Leased new 2010 mazda 6 october 2009. About 3 months later, i turned the lumbar adjustment knob, and a loud pop happens and the knob starts freewheeling. The lumbar knob connection (shaft/whatever it is) to theinternals broke. Many months later, i called to make an appointment at the same time as a recall came out. Medical conditions prevented me from keeping that appointment, so i called and canceled it. So today, 10/07/11 i took it in for the recall and the broken lumbar knob connection so that parts could be ordered to fix it. Turns out there were 2 other recalls too, so that was added to the list. About 2 1/2 hours later, the car is brought up. The service adviser says that the tech sees there are aftermarket seat covers on the seats, and therefore whoever put those on, broke the lumbar knob connection. (the aftermarket seat covers are on there because the material used for this models seats is prone to excessive wear, and since this is a lease, i don't want that.) i advised the service adviser and service manager that the seat covers were just recently put on, (last week of august 2011) and in no way had anything to do with the broken lumbar knob connection. The service adviser said that i would have to bring it in another time for the regional rep to look at it, to determine if it would be fixed or not. I again advised, that it had absolutely nothing to do with it, and besides that, it's just nylon fabric that's put over the seat cushions. And they were not even on when it happened. The service manager said that's the only way that the dealership can get paid for it, is if the rep says so. So, the service manager, service writer, and technician at bob moore mazda okc are saying i'm lying about how the lumbar knob connection broke. Also, when the vehicle was returned to me, the tech had reinstalled the seat belt twisted. Shows the quality of service there.

The rotors are warped after less then 30k miles.this causes the car to shimmy when braking at any appreciable speed (any speed over 40mph).took car to dealer and they claim it is not covered under the warranty as it is "normal wear and tear".called mazda and they too refused to fix the problem under the warranty.

The contact owns a 2010 mazda mazda6. The contact stated that the rotors were prematurely warped, causing the vehicle to jerk violently. Also, the contact mentioned that the tpms and passenger air bag warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 60,000.

For many years and i've run into a serious issue with my current 2010 mazda 6.over the last five years i've had to replace the master cylinder multiple times, which i'm to understand from the mechanics is "extremely unlucky", however i feel there is another underlying issues.attached is the brief timeline of the incidents based on the paperwork.regardless of whether the car is in motion or powered down the car has 'mushy brakes' with the brake pedal "collapsing" to the floor with little applied pressure.as you can see i have had three previous attempts to have the problem addressed, which were unsuccessful.the root cause of the issue was not even considered until a mechanic friend of mine suggested they look at the master cylinder as the root cause, which was looked at on inspection #3 through checking of codes and not finally addressed until inspection #4. I believe that there is a fundamental parts problem that is not being addressed by mazda, which could have the potential for serious liability concerns for the company should there be any further defective parts manufactured and installed.i am comfortable saying that as i have not heard one comment or statement from gallo mazda about contacting the manufacturer or mazda corporate about addressing this issue. As of this date, the car is still having the "mushy brake" feel, with the brake pedal "collapsing" to the floor with little pressure and i believe the recently replaced master cylinder has begun to fail.the car will be returned to the dealership for repair.i consider it unfair and unethical to pay for safety/manufacturing issues that mazda should address, not me as the customer.

The brake rotors on this vehicle need machining each year due to grabbing. My mazda dealership has machined them after the first year and replaced them under warranty at 30k. The replacement rotors are to be machined again on 4/26/14. This is a safety issue due to potential loss of control during braking.

I called my dealer and they looked at it and told my i just need air. Well the very next day the light came on and the loud beeping followed.a long with that my passenger seat air bag light keeps say that the air bag is off, and the passenger seat low beam headlight has issues with stay on.

Heard a knock while driving (as though hitting pothole). Next day steering column felt loose, breaks seemed worn and sound on sharp turns. Later that day while driving in city, went over a normal dip in the road and heard a crack/louder knock.wheel turned to the left, even though driving straight. When applying brakes, wheel now turned to the right. Pulled aside and ran over curb as brakes were not as effective. Initial diagnosis: brakes and bearings need repair (although these were replaced less than 5 months ago). Next diagnosis: subframe psg. Side completely rotted and cracked.will take a month to repair [rental provided].note- the past 6 months i've had other issues including: electrical (fuse for radio/locks/int lights keeps breaking; after 1.5 hour diagnostic cause still unknown. Chose to replace fuse as needed- weekly to monthly); 3 tires have gone (even though 2 were fairly new; needed alignment); brakes and bearings twice. Could be regular wear and tear or could be related.

I was on a city street travelling around 35 mph.while approaching a stop light and applying the brakes the car suddenly started pulling to the right and almost pulled the entire vehicle into a ditch.the vehicle came to a stop at the edge of the grass.i pulled the vehicle over further to avoid traffic and noticed the right tire was now touching the wheel well.after having the vehicle towed the mechanic informed me that there was extensive corrosion underneath the vehicle which had led to the failure.

For some reason the brake rotor on the left front wheel warps very quickly after driving under normal conditions for about 2 weeks. The rotor that warps makes the steering wheel shake violently when braking at highway speeds and is difficult to control steering. Also when braking at highway speeds the shaking decreases if the brake pedal is stomped on hard but this results in "brake checking" the vehicle that is following behind the car. To try to correct the issue the front rotors were machined several times, replaced, machined again but the problem persists. At lower speeds the car lurches forward and back forward and back as the brake catches and releases the warped rotor.

The contact owns a 2010 mazda 6. While driving 30 mph, a rattling noise emitted from the wheels without warning. The contact pulled the vehicle to the side of the road and stated that the brakes seized when the pedal was depressed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 29,000.

Brake sensor making noise as if the brakes need to be replaced.vehicle has under 10000 miles.have owned several new vehicles and have never had to replace the brakes for a new vehicle at this number of mileage.possible defect with mazdas braking system.

When applying foot to the brakes, the pedal "collapse" to the floor with little to no resistance.releasing the brake pedal and quickly pumping does regain some resistance, but braking is affected.the problem is intermittent and is not triggered by any specific event.

My 2010 mazda 6 which has less than 10,000 miles on it has been reported by the service center that all 4 rotors are out of round and need to be replaced.however, the brakes and brake pads are fine.the warranty will not cover the replacement of the rotors.another issue is when i turn the steering wheel to the right the horn will randomly start beeping.the service center stated it did not happen for them.

The contact owns a 2010 mazda 6. Upon starting the vehicle, the steering wheel became tight and extremely difficult to turn left or right. The vehicle was restarted but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,213.

I was driving home from work, when i noticed that my steering was not working right. Every time i hit a bump in the road it became hard to control. To stay straight, my steering wheel had to be turn almost completely left. I figured i was just badly out of alignment. I took it to the shop to get my alignment done, and they told me the sub frame was rotted out.the car is only 8 years old and well maintained. He was not able to explain why it was rotted out, but the rest of the underneath looked good.

While driving straight wheel is at 12:00 and 6:00 and car is going straight ..found at dealership that rt.front sub-frame rusted thru ..car is no longer safe to drive and new frames are backordered evenjunkyards are out ..had to rent and buy a new car

When maneuvering to or from parking when the steering wheel is turned and puts any pressure on the steering components the right front of the car makes a very loud clunking and popping and makes both steering and moving difficult.it has gotten progressively worse over the last 2 months so i did some research and found out about the possible corrosion issue of the front right subframe and recall "inspection". I will call my local dealer and schedule an appointment as it seems this car is under an open recall and was never looked at. I just bought it as a used car in mid october and mostly drive my truck all winter so it took awhile for this to surface.

The contact owns a 2010 mazda mazda6. The contact stated that the steering wheel was pulling without warning. There was rust on the frame. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not safe to drive. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign number 18v631000 (suspension, structure). The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 151,000.

On september 12, 2018 i took my 2010 mazda 6i to a local mazda dealership to get preventative maintenance done on the vehicle, replacing the drive belt.when the mazda tech started the job, he discovered that the entire front sub-frame that holds the front end suspension, steering components, motor and transmission was rusted and rotted out with several holes and flaking metal. The tech was unable to perform the job as he stated he could not remove the sub-frame and keep it in tact. The tech reported that this created a hazardous and unsafe condition and that until repaired with a new or other-wise in-tact sub-frame the car would be unsafe to drive.upon checking on-line i have discovered that this is quickly becoming a common problem with the mazda 6 of this model year (2009 to 2019). The sub-frame should not be that rotted out in a 2010 vehicle with 101921 miles on it and no rust on the body.

The wheels were turning in and the steering was really hard to keep straight had to turn the steering wheel almost half around car make loud screaming noises.tires went flat ..i have 6 grandkids lucky i wasn't going fast the car could of flipped .subframe broke in half on passenger side rusted right out.i got this car from right way dealership in saginaw michigan in march of 2019 they never told me or never contacted me that there was a recall for the subframe breaking.could of killed someone!!!!

Letter from consumer re: fair and equitable reimbursement customer treatment on 2010 mazda 6 recall repair (defect) not totally paid for by mazda warranty department. *as

I have the open and dangerous recall ( # 2818i ) still pending at this time. It was hard enough just to get the dealership, in order to inspect the car for corrosion in the concerning areas. I don't feel that the car is safe to drive at this time andprefer that no one rides with me when driving it, just for the safety of others. I'm very concerned that this fix will not come soon enough and the problem keep messing up my cars alignment. Causing all sorts of problems driving it, especially at high speeds. That's when a wheel wobble starts to happen in the affected areas of the front passenger side of the car. Please help!

When driving home from the gym, the vehicle suddenly became difficult to control and there was an excessive amount of play in the steering wheel. After inspecting, my husband believes the cause is due to frame corrosion at the steering rack mount which appears to have been reported by other 2009 2010 mazda 6 owners..

Mazda incomplete recall 28181; nhtsa recall 18v-631; i had my vehicle inspected as required and was told due to rust/corrosion/perforations the front cross member needs to be replaced. Informed no parts available and mazda has given no info on when parts may be available; dealers have no info at all on timing for repairs; cannot get thru to mazda for more info and mazda does not even list this on their site as a recall; this is a dangerous condition and afraid to drive this car

After exiting the highway applied th brakes and steering wheel went to 12:00 and 6:00 while the car kept going straight .apply the gas and wheei goes back to normal .hit the brakes and repeat the cycle again ..took to dealership to find out rt. Front subframe is rusted thru ..car is no longer safe to drive and is parked at montrose mazda in kent ohio .new frame and labor is 2,000.00 and parts are backordered telling me others have to be having similar issues ..who orders a new frame for their car ? car was just at highway speed and then lost complere control of car .glad no one was hurt

While driving on town roads and around a traffic circle a loud noise was heard from the right hand side of the vehicle.i attempted to pull into a nearby gas station but the vehicle would not steer to the left enough to enter the parking lot.i managed to pull into another lot a short distance down the street on the right hand side.i inspected the under side of the vehicle and discovered the front sub-frame had rusted through to the point of failure.this failure allowed the complete front left wheel/suspension assembly to move about freely under the car.

While making a right turn, i hit the brakes to avoid colliding with someone who pulled in front of me and the passenger's side front wheel locked into a position turned to the right.i had it towed to a repair shop, where i was informed that the control arm had separated from the frame due to rust.it seems there was a recall for this issue in 2018 for certain states, and while i do not currently reside in one of the affected states, i used to and my car did for most of its life.

I began having problems with the steering, especially when turning at intersections, it made some bang/bump noises, and felt like the front wheels weren't turning unless i really cranked the steering wheel.i took it to the dealer for an evaluation, and they promptly pulled it off the road, telling me it was unsafe to drive.turns out the front subframe on the passenger side had rusted out so badly that it was almost split into two pieces, and i could literally poke holes through the rusted areas, affecting the operation of both the steering and suspension.if the subframe had indeed split, according to the mechanic, the steering would've failed and i could've lost the right front wheel.

This vehicle does not track straight, even on a level road. At highway speeds (above 50 mph) it has a decided pull to the left, regardless of the lateral slope of the road. Constant clockwise pressure on the steering wheel is necessary in order to keep vehicle from drifting in a leftward direction. If driver attention is diverted for only an instant the vehicle is likely to partially intrude into the lane to the left, which on an undivided highway could be an oncoming traffic lane (hence the safety issue). I called this to the attention of my mazda dealer's service department at least twice within the first year after purchase (january 2010). Their answer was no answer--they could not find anything wrong mechanically and there were no bulletins from mazda on the subject. They verified the alignment and rotated the tires left to right, but neither of these solved the problem. Nearly five years later the problem still exists and seems even more pronounced than it was originally. A recent check with the dealer indicated that there is still nothing from mazda. Possibly it is a defect that applies only to my car and not in general to that model, but i have no way of determining that at this point.

Corrosion related steering issues. The frame of the car has rusted out where the lower control arm on the front passenger side connects to the frame. While coming to a quick stop the abs kicked in and the car pulled to the right with a popping sound. The car would randomly pull to one side when driving resumed. Took the car in for new brakes and was informed that the frame has rusted out. Finding other like concerns i took the car to mazda with no communication regarding the status of my vehicle. The car is 8 years old and should not have frame rust to the point of failure.

The contact owns a 2010 mazda 6. While driving approximately 30 mph, the steering wheel started to pull to the right. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the passenger side subframe was severely corroded and flaky. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,00. The vin was unavailable.

Noticed a knocking noise developing in front passenger side. Took the car to a local garage to have it checked out and to get new tires and alignment. I was notified that the sub-frame was rotted out and the car was no longer safe to drive. Contacted mazda for new sub-frame and was notified that the part has been on back order for 6 months and they had no idea when they would be available. Now i am stuck with an 8 year old car that is unsafe to drive with no hope for repair.

While applying the brakes at approximately 30mph, there was sharp jolt, and the steering wheel jerked all the way to the right.the low-traction indicator light came on and the car was not able to be safely steered. Upon visual inspection, the front right tire was turned outward, while the front left remained straight. A mechanic confirmed that the issue was caused by a fully corroded sub-frame which had cracked in half.

My son was driving the car approximately 40mph on a state route in a rural area and experienced a sudden loss of steering control and sharp pull to the right when he was trying to brake. This nearly caused him to hit a truck. When he regained control he noticed the steering wheel was not aligned while going straight and the car continued to pull to the right. When he managed to make it home we jacked it up and removed the right front tire. I noticed that the cross member on the right side was completely rusted through. This was the only noticibly large area of rust on the car. The car is now undriveable.

The car is only 8 years old and the sub frame has completely rusted out, deeming the car unfit to drive. This was only caught as i took the car in for estimate on brakes. I have 2 young children who ride in this car daily, so luckily no accident. I've noticed several complaints regarding this on the 2009 and 2010 models. Although i haven't been in accident (yet), i'm now forced to pay $2000 in repairs, or just replace the vehicle.

As i was driving down the interstate my steering wheel rotated clockwise and was at an angle and my car continued to go straight down the road. It felt as if i were driving on ice and was very hard to control the vehicle. While making a turn my front tires began to squeal. It was very hard to turn. When braking the car shook dramatically. I took it to a local auto mechanic because i thought it was possibly something with the steering. The mechanic called back and was shocked to tell me the sub frame was completely rotten and had broken. It was hard for him to believe that a car that was only 8 years old would have that much corrosion on the frame.i purchased the car brand new and have had the car for the entire 8 years with no accidents at all.

Passenger side dashboard is melting complete off and air bags might not deploy if vehicle is involved in an accident.

The dashboard on the passenger side of my car is starting to melt. It is very sticky and shiny.

My mazda dashboard is melting. It is very sticky, shiny and i cannot the stand the smell of it. Since the dashboard became shiny it reflects light in to my eyes and it kind of blinds me sometimes. I cannot clean it or touch it.

The contact owns a 2010 mazda mazda6. The contact stated while driving 10 mph, the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound by the passenger's side engine compartment. The steering then became difficult to turn. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer bill gatton of johnson city mazda (2909 n. Roan st, johnson city, tn 37601, (423) 418-6152) where it was diagnosed with needing the subframe to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 18v631000 (suspension, structure) however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer was informed of failure and the contact was referred to nhtsa for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

The contact owns a 2010 mazda 6. While driving various speeds, the sunglass holder suddenly fell down and obstructed the contact's view when using the rearview mirror. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (brown mazda in fairfax, va) where it was diagnosed that the sunglass holder would need to be replaced. Also, when removing the ignition key from the ignition switch, the metal section of the key would break off. The failure had not been diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired for either failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 40,000.

I have had my well maintained car for just under 5 years.it is out of warranty.i have never used a chemical cleaning product to clean the interior, just a damp cloth.i noticed that only the section of dashboard that covers the airbag on the passenger side was sticky.within a few days it became progressively worse and actually gooey.if it was touched by a window sun screen or by your hand, the dashboard color and material rolled off and spread to anything that was accidentally retouched.the 800 number mazda customer assistance center told me that it was up to the mazda dealership to decide what could be done about the problem.paretti mazda at 4000 veterans blvd., metairie, la 70002 had me bring the car in on july 2, 2014 when the mazda district representative was available to look at it.at 3:00 p.m. That same day, i was told that i had to decide before 5:00 p.m. Whether or not i would accept the offer of mazda giving me a new $226.96 dashboard part and my having to pay $324.84 to them for labor.it was a one time only offer for that day.the entire scenario is unethical.i had no other choice but to let mazda do this job and i was told that it may happen again in a few years.they do not stand behind the replacement part.the car was not ready by the end of today 7/11/2014 as promised because of "unforeseen problems."paretti mazda is now renting a car for me to use for the next 3 days because of the weekend.

The dashboard on the passenger side melted and is sticky causing a glare....updated 07/30/15 nothing has been done to correct the situation. The consumer did not contact the dealer directly. He contacted mazda usa corp and was informed the vehicle was not under warranty. Therefore, it was not their problem. The problem was caused by outside temperature. Updated 09/01/15*b

My passenger side dashboard has appeared to be melting for awhile now.i never thought to check on it until i decided to google how i could fix the problem.it causes a glare and the sticky substance gets on anything that gets near it and it seems to be spreading further down the panel.also it can't be cleaned so is collecting dust and debris.

Hi, my mazda have a melt dash.

The dashboard is melting.it is sticky to the touch, has a chemical, rubbery smell, and reflects onto the windshield affecting visibility.the problem has been getting progressively worse.

My dashboard on the passenger side is melting.

My vehicle's dashboard is melting creating a glare when i am driving affecting my vision and putting me, my family and others at a safety risk.to make matters worse, the glue-like material is smearing and fogging my windshield also affecting my vision and making the interior sticky.the car has cloth seats and it is getting all over the seats, steering wheel, carpets, and clothing.the vehicle has very few miles, this should not be occurring.it is definitely the result of a defect and a recall must be put in place for this safety hazard.consumers should not be exposed and have to be injured or die before action is taken.i am very disappointed to read that mazda and other auto makers are not paying to fix this issue.i have contact information for over 8,500 companies in the u.s. And i am going to be sending an email blast to make it public so that everyone stays away from buying a mazda.ironically, i have to take the vehicle in for another recall on the door latch that is defective and it is opening while my wife is driving.

The contact owns a 2010 mazda 6. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v631000 (suspension, structure). The parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Brown's fairfax mazda (10570 fairfax boulevard, fairfax, va 22030, (703) 385-8170) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

I havea 2010 mazda 6 and recently noticed that my dashboard is melting.

The dashboard has begun to melt from excessive heat. Not only is it sticky to the touch, but it has become very reflective which at times can reflect & obscure you vision when driving. This is clearly a driving hazard, and it is very unprofessional for mazda not to help in the manner. I contacted mazda, they proceed to advice that my warranty had expired about 2 years ago and there was nothing they could do. They suggested that i take it to an authorized mazda dealer for an inspection. From there i was to contact their claims department (18002225500) to see if they could help with the cost of the repair as part of an after warranty aid.

I would like to report this ongoing issue with my mazda 6 2010 model.the way mazda design side mirror that's very comfy for spider. Our both left & right mirror has spider web all the time. We need to clean that in all seasons. There are multiple safety recall for mazda 6 2010.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The dashboard on the passenger side is melting and sticky to touch. The reflection from the melting makes it difficult to see out the windshield on the passenger side. I called the dealership and had pictures taken of the problem. All they said to wait for a letter and the part is not in. It has been 7 months since i first reported it.

While performing maintenance on 2010 mazda 6 it was observed there was extensive corrosion to the front subframe.it is very near steering and suspension components and had the frame failed while driving it likely would have resulted in lack of control of the vehicle.picture is attached.

On am of 06/08/2018, i felt something give in front end - felt like a broken strut initially. Driving home at 55-60 mph that afternoon, car became noticeably difficult to control - pulling hard to the right which caused audible metallic scraping noises from inside car and required me to keep steering wheel turned left at 30-45 degrees in order to maintain straight line. Car was very difficult to turn or keep under control. Made it to family member's house near my mechanic, and made arrangements to drop car off. On 06/12/2018, mechanic called to inform me that right front subframe/engine cradle was rusted through to the point that it had cracked. He was shocked that it didn't fail catastrophically at speed on highway. Mazda dealer advised to call mazda directly to file complaint. Mechanic could not find a used/salvaged cradle to make repairs and mazda dealer informed him that a cradle they ordered in december 2017 had just arrived in may 2018 - quoted price to repair was roughly $1,600 parts/$1,000+ labor. Car was bought new in september 2010 and has just shy of 84,000 miles.

I started noticing cracks on the dashboard on the passenger side where the airbag deploys. My vehicle was stationary when i noticed ththe cracks the following morning. I am concerned that the airbag might accidentally go off with the slightest vibrations or closing of the vehicle doors.

The dashboard is melting. The dashboard on the passenger started to look shiny. We took a clothe to wipe it off and the dashboard is sticky and actually peeled and ripped when we tried to wipe it. The conditioning is spreading and is very sticky. At certain times of day the glare from the shiney dashboard reflects off the windshield making it very difficult to see out the windshield.

I'd like to report my observation in regards to the following investigation:pe18006upon performing routine maintenance i observed heavy corrosion of the subframe of my vehicle heavily concentrated towards the rear ends of said subframe. The damage is largely concentrated on the passenger side of the sub frame but both drive and passenger sides are in varying states of corrosion. I can contribute additional information upon request but i wanted to add to the on-going investigation that heavy corrosion to the point of me questioning the structural integrity of said subframe is for sure an issue i'm experiencing.i have not checked the welds to the various suspension components attached to sub frame but the pinch welds along the interior edge of the sub frame have been compromised allowing the ingress of additional water which i believe is accelerating this issue. The whole lower surface of the sub frame towards the rear of the sub frame has begun corroding as well and the paint covering the sub frame has bubbled up or separated along the edge of the corrosion.

The contact owns a 2010 mazda 6. The contact stated that there was extensive rust and corrosion on the vehicle. The vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 18v631000 (suspension, structure). The vehicle was taken to mcdonald mazda (10345 w colfax ave, lakewood, co 80215, (720) 449-9900) where the cross member was inspected, but they refused to install a side member (for reinforcement). The dealer also had not replaced the air conditioner drain hose and no rust proofing was applied to the cross member. The vehicle was not repaired due to non-compliance of the dealer and the manufacturer. The vehicle was not being driven. The approximate failure mileage was 103,981. Consumer stated upon seeing the underside of the vehicle i immediatedly noticed corrosion covering large portions of the cross member. There were several corroded mounting holes and large welds that had signs of advanced decay. The damage was obvious and i took several pictures and recorded a video showing the widespead corrosion. Dashboard crash pad on the passenger side is melting.i live in florida and use a sun screen in my window when the vehicle is parked.causes dash to become shiny and there is a glare when driving.

Dash crash pad is melting, causing a glare and poor visibility on the passenger side of the windshield. The dash is turning into a liquid and running down the dash.also smells like it is "off gassing."

The contact stated that the glare made it difficult to see when driving. The contact stated that the dashboard was fractured on the passenger's side of the vehicle. The contact contacted the dealer fitzgerald mazda of annapolis (1930 west st, annapolis, md 21401, (410) 266-5700) who informed the contact the dashboard needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000.

The passenger lower control arm broke while driving, and i lost control of the vehicle. I almost hit a car coming towards, but thankfully i was able to stop since i was only doing 35 mph. I don't know what would have happened if i was on the highway. The mechanic said the sub-frame was completely rotted out and it was not safe to drive the vehicle anymore. Apparently, the a/c is draining right onto the control arm area, which may or may not have affected the situation.

The contact owns a 2010 mazda 6. The contact stated that the dashboard material was defective. The contact noticed that the dashboard was sticky and melted near the front passenger air bag area. The dashboard was not replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 36,000.

The frame on my vehicle specially the 'cradle' on the passenger side failed while braking. Specifically the ''cradle' is rusted and split almost all the way through. The vehicle is now undrivable. It is a severe safety risk

Dash board melting from heat

When performing an oil change i noticed that the subframe / engine cradle on the passenger side near the right suspension was severely rusted. The subframe is no longer structurally sound and i have parked the vehicle until a repair is completed. The vehicle is no longer safe to be on the road. The severe corrosion appears to be isolated to the right side with the rest of the subframe showing surface corrosion normally seen in an area that uses road salt such as minnesota. I believe that the cause of this failure is the air conditioning evaporator drain dripping on the subframe. As you can see in the attached pictures there is no drain hose used to divert the water from the evaporator around the frame and overboard. This moisture mixed with the road salt created a dangerous amount of corrosion on a key structural component. I am glad i noticed this before an accident occurred

Paint is chipping away on the rear of the car.

On wednesday, may 24th the sub-frame of this car broke while my daughter was driving it. We did not know at the time that it was the subframe.all we knew was that there was no control of the car as it was being driven. As we were leaving town the next day, we dropped it at our regular replace place.while we were out of town, they repaired the car.while we were out of town, we were in contact with the repair people.they ordered and replaced the part.in further discussion, they were surprised that an 8 year old car, that has been maintained regularly and only has 85000 miles on, had such a substantive failure. The subframe cracked while on the highway, while driving.

My dashboard panel on the passenger side have signs of melting, i haven't spill anything on the car.it's sticky and it have a really bad smell.

Door latch mounting screws gone and not allowing to engage with the latch mechanism.door will not close shut. Door opened while vehicle in motion.known recall no. 7013i

Nothing has happened yet.there are two recalls but no one has contacted me about them.

This concerns the plastic safety bumper on my mazda and plastic bumpers in general. Mine is a safety hazard and in danger of breaking off. I believe it to be a defective product.i have a mazda6 touring plus which is ten months old, with less than 12,000 miles. My bumper began cracking two months ago. The rip went from the top of the bumper to the bottom. In time, the rip has expanded to a fourth of a bumper. I am using shipping tape to hold it in place. Shipping tape! the bumper is so brittle, it's useless as a safety bumper. I get no satisfaction from my dealer , ramsey mazda, ramsey n.j .or from mazda headquarters. They tell me the crack may have occurred when i went over a pothole or safety bumper and suggest i ask my insurance company to pay $1300 for the replacement cost. I believe this should be covered by warranty. More important, bumpers of this sort should be banned. They are a safety hazard and should be replaced with a solid bumperor better quality. I have owned many cars over the years and i have never heard of a bumper ripping or flaking. Updated 07/05/11

The contact owns a 2010 mazda 6. While turning the steering wheel in either direction, a popping noise was heard from the front passenger side of the vehicle. The popping noise was more audible when making left turns and while turning with the transmission in reverse. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The local dealer was not notified. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 120,000.

After exiting the highway at 65+mph turned the corner and the rear of the car dropped and started dragging the ground without warning . Pulled over to see rear suspension on the ground .i contacted dealer about it and they seem to be aware of similar complaints but do not seem to care .could have been different outcome one minute earlier !! this is the second time the frame collapsed on me in this car the first time was therecall 2818l same thing broke without warning . This is bad metal in the frames and someone is gonna die before mazda admits the cars are unsafe as lots of these cars are still on the road .

Front subframe corrosion. We were fortunate in that we noticed the car pulling to the right, slowed down, heard a "pop" and lost control of steering but we were going slow pulled over and towed to garage. The part has a 3 week delivery time and the price has recently doubled from 600.00 to 1,200.00 in the few daysour mechanic called to get. This seemsto be a serious safety issue but no recall.

My husband was driving on the nj turnpike and the tire pressure monitor light came on. Within a minute the rear passenger tire was completely flat. After inspected by a tire dealer, it was determined that the tpms corroded and the nut came off while driving the car. The tpms fell into the tire causing an immediate flat tire. Warranty did not cover the defective tpms and mazda does not have a safety recall on this part. The part was replaced with a new rubber tpms.[original made of metal] this is an obvious concern if mazda is now replacing the part with a new material. This is a major safety concern as a major accident could have occurred. Luckily, the incident did not result in an accident or injuries. Now there is a concern for the other three tpms which are also corroded and the same issue can happen. Mazda needs to issue a safety recall since i am afraid to drive my infant and toddler until all tpms are replaced with the new tpms design.

Tpms valve broke when checking air pressure in the tire. Tire went flat and tpms had to be replaced.

The passenger side dashboard is melting.the melted are is very shiny and sticky and leaves residue on windshield if touched by window shade. There doesn't seem to be any improvement since window shade has been used. Dashbaoard also seems to be cracking in the area surrounding airbag.

Passenger side dashboard has melted, causing black sticky residue and a very shiny effect, when trying to drive, the sunlight and nighttime lights cause a glare that is very distracting when trying to drive.

The dashboard in my 2010 mazda 6 is melting into a sticky, shiny substance with a tar-like appearance. In sunny weather the reflections created by the meted dashboard severely affect my visibility out of the passenger-side of my windshield. When taking right-hand turns i often need to crane my neck to see around the bright reflections created on my windshield from the affected dashboard material, which is about 1 square foot in size. I have trouble seeing pedestrians coming from the passenger side of my car due to the reflections. I have tried to clean off the sticky material to no avail. This safety issue is making me feel uncomfortable while driving my car, both on the road, highway, or even in a parking lot.

Dash board melting from heat

This is the third complaint i have filed regarding the melting dashboard. I forgot to mention in the previous complaint that the melting passenger dashboard is actually not a true dashboard, it is an airbag for the front passenger.i have reason to believe that the melting, permanent, extremely stiky, semi liquid exterior of the airbag will fail to rupture properly allowing for normal deployment of the airbag. It may rupture too easily causing deployment of airbag with excessive force, possibly breaking the neck of a child or injuring an adult. It could not rupture completely causing a lag in the time of deployment and may not inflate completely. It could also possibly prevent deployment completely.in addition to causing defects in airbag deployment blindness or eye injury as well as skin injury can occur at time of airbag deployment caused by an explosion of the stiky liquidated airbag surface spraying into the face, eyes, and mouth of passengers. The liquifying airbag surface might also leak into internal airbag components causing malfunction. Remer that when someone refers to the passenger side dashboard melting, it is actually the surface of the front passenger airbag. I am a professional career automobile mechanic with over ten years experience. This is a very dangerous problem.

Dash on passenger side is melting. Sticky film all over dash. I have read that other mazda 6 cars have this issue. I have pictures i can send

The crack started small on the passenger side dashboard but is getting worse everyday.it keeps getting bigger and bigger

Passenger side of dashboard is melting, theres also a glare and is sticky to the touch.noticed it starting about a year ago, dealship said not to worry.now half of the dashboard is sticky and melting.

I started noticing cracks on the dashboard on the passenger side where the airbag deploys. My vehicle was stationary when i noticed ththe cracks the following morning. I am concerned that the airbag might accidentally go off with the slightest vibrations or closing of the vehicle doors.

My dashboard panel on the passenger side have signs of melting, i haven't spill anything on the car.it's sticky and it have a really bad smell.

Dashboard is melting and we complained to mazda long time. Still no response from mazda. Dashboard is very shiny because of melting and affecting the sight. Not only that faulty dashboard. Please act.see the below links. Lot of people are waiting.http://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/drivers-still-waiting-on-replacements-for-melting-dashboards-368240311.html

The dashboard of my mazda 6 is melting. It's a big sticky mess, like primer paint poured all over it. If anything gets on it, there is no removing it. It causes a very large glare in my windshield limiting my visibility to a point that it is dangerous.

The dashboard on the passenger side of the 2010 mazda 6, 2.5l has melted from high temperature of the southern part of the united states. The surface has become very sticky and reflective. The sticky material has gotten smeared onto the windshield and is not removable, the more you try to wipe it away so the read can be seen the more it smears blocking more and more of the view. When the sun hits the windshield the smears completely block the behind view and the light reflects off of the dash surface, now a stickysmeared liquid, it reflects into my eyes while driving causing temporary blindness to the point i have to slow down and brake sometimes pulling off the road due to lost visability. No cleaners or chemical detergents were ever used to clean the windshield, the dash melted from normal hot summer temps. Apparently mazda knew of this problem and failed to disclose it at purchase, if they did i would not of bought it. It costs 1,500.00 to fix and mazda refuses to pay for the repair. Once this sticky substance gets on the windshield it is permanent.this is a very dangerous defect and i'm sure will lead to deaths.

The dashboard on the passenger side is melting. I live in central florida. I recently started noticing a slight glare coming from the dash area while driving. Upon a routine interior cleaning i noticed that the dashboard area was sticky/tacky to the touch. I used a high quality interior cleaner to test a small spot to figure out how to treat it. While doing the test spot cleaning the dash was literally rubbing off on the rag i was using. The subsequent removal of the dash material left the test spot very reflective. In the decades i have been working on and rebuilding cars i have never come across a defect like this. I park in open parking lots and use sun shades inside the car to help protect the interior. The sun shades are used approximately 80% of the time during sunny weather. I am currently afraid to attempt to clean the dash further because i fear that the glare would be increased and cause a further safety hazard while driving.

The dash on my mazda is melted.it is now causing a bright sheen which makes it difficult to see when the sun hits it. The dash is very sticky and starting to smell like burnt plastic. .i've called mazda customer support and they said the defective part is covered untill 2010, however they said it ended 4 months ago.unfortunately, covid19 stopped me from making it to the dealership in march. Mazda would not give me an extension due to the current covid19 stay at home order placed in my state

Since i have owned car, gradual deterioration of interior components to include safety item; cracked rear-view mirror, ceiling sunglasses holder (blocks rear-view mirror, change holder (hit every time get into car), seat track cover (danger of putting finger inside), and steering wheel plastic loose. I have images of the remaining items, although file size prevented upload and can send under separate cover.

The airbag cover started out just being sticky to the touch.over the last two years it had been progressively worst to the point that it is extremely sticky, shiny, and if you try to clean the windshield from the inside the paper sticks to the dash. I tried to get the paper off, but plugs of the dash come off when i do. I just want mazda to stop dragging their feet and manufacturer the parts so that this problem can be resolved.i do not feel that this is safe if the airbags where to be deployed. Mazda has said if i were involved in any accident it would be replaced. However it would not be them replacing it, it would be the insurance company paying the cost.

Car system alarm goes off without notice.it will work fine for days then, the alarm will start to go off constantly.while driving at night, the interior car lights come on like a door is open.no indicator on control panel if door is open.then turns off lights inside car.it scares you as you think a door came open

Mazda over two years ago promised replace the dashboards on it mazda 6 models it has a sticky surface it which mazda explain in the recall notice it is now 2017 what is the status of the recall? my interior is ruin due to the material of the dashboard

Passenger dash melted and shiny and very sticky to the touch

2010 mazda 6 isport passenger dashboard crash pad has been melting progressively for about 2 years.only began noticing the dash melting upon my move to hawaii, so i assume it is a result of subpar parts and the hot/humid climate.this appears to be common with this make and model, based on research into the issue.

The dashboard of my 2010 mazda 6 , 2.5l melted, emitting a chemical smell and liquifying the dashboard surface creating a sticky reflective surface that can blind the driver.

The contact owns a 2010 mazda mazda6. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle accelerated on its own. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 17,000 and the current mileage was 25,000...updated 03/07/14

The dashboard on the passenger side is melting and reflects onto the windshield hampering visibility. It also emits a noxious odor.

The passenger side dashboard is melting.the melted are is very shiny and sticky and leaves residue on windshield if touched by window shade. There doesn't seem to be any improvement since window shade has been used. Dashbaoard also seems to be cracking in the area surrounding airbag.

I am the second owner of this vehicle. Its a 2010. I went to the dealership to see why i was hearing noises when i drive and was advised the wheel bearings where loose. How is that possible? this vehicle is not even 5 years old. Per my reseach, these things at supposed to lose for the life of the vehicle. Its only been 5 years. How is this possible?

Within 17 hours of each occurrence, two tpms (tire pressure monitoring sensors) had broken from corrosion causing a sudden loss of air in the tire, resulting in a flat tire and dangerous highway driving situation. Both tires had adequate air before the incidents that had just been checked before the trip. The remaining two tpms were also badly corroded when inspected and were replaced.
