I reviewed my past comp, ain't 10786122. I did call mazda the manufacturer to comp,as. That the airbag had not been repaired and no parts are available august 2015. Your information is not correct as i did call mazda august 2015. I was told by the corporate office to file a complaint, ain't with you and i did. I have file a complaint, ain't today and called mazda today. I have asks that the car be replaced, repaired or refunded. I was told thatthey will contact th dealer. I was driving the morning of 6/8/10 on my way to work. There was a car going to pass me on a illinois rte 161 road. I slowed down for courtesy of the passer and i caught loose gravel on the hard road. Instantly i knew not to over correct and try to ease out of it. I end up barrel rolling aprox 80+ feet down a steep reveen. No air bags deployed. My 2008 mazda 6 is equipped with side curtain airbags, which are roll over protection safety feature. As quoted on a internet site. I rolled aprox 4-6 times.

2008 mazda 6 with less than 5000 miles. Starter caught on fire, dealer said rodent chewed wire. Not a warranty issue. My insurance had to pay. Pictures taken and my agent insured me when he filed with mazda they would take care of this. Today 11/11/08 claim deniedmazda said its not their fault. What ever happened to customer service.
Driving 2008 mazda 6 when the at light came on and the automatic transmission slipped from gear reengaged very harshly into third gear. The 5 speed automatic transmission dropped 4th and 5th gear after re-engaging.
1. There was no warning to this failure, i was on a motorway (u.k) i check my oil levels every single week2. I had an engine over-run and could only be stopped by switching the engine off, the rev counter hit maximum and a huge cloud of white smoke was left behind me. Consequences are now i am left without a car and i could have died because i was approaching a roundabout 700 yards away and swerved between 2 lanes of moving traffic to force a stop on a lay-by.3. Nothing was done, mazda are blaming me for the incident even after i had my oil checked and results shown a 62% diesel oil contamination, they blame the dpf (diesel particulate filter) for this over-run as i am not doing enough "long journey" miles. Which i was, no warning lights appeared before or after the incident and the oil levels are dramatically above the full mark. No fault codes are shown on mazda computer. My car is sitting useless on my drive as we are all to scared to drive it.
I tried to start my car on sunday morning (march 18th) and it would not start.i purchased a new battery.when i went to install it, i noted that the positive cable had corroded to the point where it could no longer make contact with the battery terminal.apparently, the wiring needs to be replaced at a cost of approximately $400.why would this happen at only 39,000 miles?i'm still working through this with the dealer, but wanted to post something as it appears others have had the same issue.i'm definitely not a mechanic but it appears that people might be having problems starting their car, or with batteries needing to be replaced pre-maturely and not realizing that it's due to corroded cables.
My clutch started to get stiff and i couldn't push it.eventually the clutch plate fell apart and the fell through the body of the car.then that clutch plate fell apart.then i got a whole new clutch on 6/7/2013 and it felt bad but the dealership said "it's a self-adjusting clutch, it will loosen up over time." then in may 2014, the noise came back and i could barely push the clutch peddle again so i took it and they said it needed a clutch master and a clutch slave but it made it worse and the car made a horrible sound after they put those parts in, so they said the entire clutch was bad and they'd replace it under warranty, but the noise didn't go away so they said i needed a whole new engine.their faulty clutch blew up my entire engine because the gears were slipping.so a great car had a blown engine because of a faulty clutch.
I was going down the i-90 in new york. Ijust got off a exit and notice my clutch was slipping so i stop and check my slave cylinder and it was cover in oil. I proceed to my destination and park i got out and look some more and notice oil running out of my bell housing. Had it towed to a garage and check out they told me the rear main seal is gone and need to be replace. They also told me that the crankshaft had a lot of play in it side to side i also google this problem more than one person has this problem with low miles.
The exhaust gaskets in this model fail leading to very loud noises from the enginewhich then leads to terrible emissions and failure of exhaust system.i looked the issue up online (and on this site) and found a tsb (01-024/07) that covered what i thought was the issue. This tsb said that the gasket between the exhaust manifold and cat was causing the noise.

I own a 2008 mazda6 - and my one headlight has gone out 9 times in the last 2 and a half years.i've had mechanics look at it, they've put numerous brands of headlights in the car an regardless it goes out within a couple months - they all say it's a short, or a bad socket.

The contact owns a 2008 mazda mazda6. While driving approximately 30 mph, the contact noticed a yellow spider coming from the vent area onto the carpet. The contact stated she had noticed spiders in this area several times. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for the failure. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number: 11v134000 (fuel system, gasoline: storage: tank assembly) which stated that a certain type of spider could weave a web in the evaporative canister vent line and potentially cause a restriction in the line. The manufacturer advised that the recall was only for the 2009-2010 model mazda6. The failure mileage 36,000 and the current mileage was 48,000.

My stepson was involved in a rear-end collision with a 2008 mazda 6. The damage is severe enough to the left rear area of the car i believe the car is totaled. It was a 40-50 mph impact. The fuel tank was exposed after the accident and crushed. My concern and complaint is why didn't the fuel safety cutoff activate after a hard impact in the rear? i believe there is a device mandated by federal laws that after a rear end collision of this magnitude that the car would not start after the impact. In this case it did start and run smooth.i would like to have someone investigate as to why this device wasn'tnot properly functioning at the time of the accident. I will also notify mazda and my insurance company of this defect as well.
Placed our 2008 mazda 6 in reverse, the steering wheel locked up, the brake pedal would not engage and car rolled back into a telephone pole, causing moderate damage to rear of vehicle.no warning of any previous failures.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 mazda 6. When the vehicle was placed into the reverse position, the vehicle jerked and moved forward without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. In addition, the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 15v345000 (air bags) and 15v382000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repairs werenot available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 89,682. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
I took my car to the mazda dealership after having experienced the 'at' light come on and a jolting in shifting gears and a real " drag" when trying to accelerate.i was told that the following fault codes "'torque converter clutch pressure control solenoid intermittent" and "transmission fluid pressure sensor/switch" indicate that i need a new transmission.i called the manufacturer because i was shocked that i would need a new transmission for a 5 year old car.i only average 12,500 miles per year, have had regular maintenance, have never heard of a transmission breaking down on such a " young" car.i believe they built the car with a poor quality product and now they will not take responsibility for it.even prior to the currentmileage i had noticed that the car was jerkyand "bucks" and not powerful when accelerating but i chalked it up to it being a 4 cylinder car-- prior to this vehicle i had owned 6 cylinder vehicles-- so i didn't know that perhaps these things were an indication of a failing transmission. I tried to explain to the dealership that i felt that mazda may have a faulty/ cheap transmission and i should not be responsible for a new transmission but they would not hear me out.a transmission should not break down after only 5 years. My previous cars lasted until 120,000 -150,000 without major breakdowns.i am livid and i feel i have no recourse.i hope someone investigates this matter.what a huge let down!!! there is no " zoom zoom" in this car.what a farce!!!!!i don't know how i will pay for this.i can't be the only one complaining of this issue.
When the car is accelerating shift shock occurs when shifting from gear 3 to 4. It doesn't always occur when the transmission is cold, but is inevitable as the transmission warms. As time goes on the shift shock occurs under less and less of a load due to the wearing of a part in the transmission. The only way to fix the issue is to purchase a new transmission. When purchasing the transmission you have to make sure you get a transmission that has been redesigned, otherwise the issue will happen again. We talked to a mazda master mechanic that said mazda knows about the issue and even went as far as changing the way the transmission was made so the problem wouldn't continue. They obviously know the issue is their fault if they changed the design of the transmission, but will not issue a recall and own up to their mistake. From what we understand, the problem is with the housing of the transmission. This means you have no choice but the replace the entire transmission. Mazda made a mistake in their engineering, but will not admit the mistake. We may not buy another mazda because of this.

I purchased a 2008 madza 6 in march of 2009 and the front passenger safety belt would lock intermittently.in june 2009 my husband took the car back to sesi motors and advised them of the problem and they supposedly fixed it. However on april 7, 2010 my husband and son was in a car accident and my son had on his seatbelt however his head hit the windshield.when my husband went to take off the seatbelt it was not fastened the lock did not hold causing my sons head to hit the windshield.he sustained injuries he was unconscious for approximately 10 minutes before ems got to him and he had a concussion.my son is now complaining of headaches, back aches and neck pains.
December 14, 2015 around 6:40pm i was driving home from work on highway 275e at approximately 70 mph approaching the 71n exit ramp . Car and driver's seat heater had been running about 8 - 10 minutes.i smelled a burning smell.i was wearing jeans.when looking around to figure out where smell was coming from, my left leg came in contact with seat, i felt a "bite" sensation on the back of my leg - immediately i thought perhaps my seat was was on fire.i didn't see any actually flames, so i turned off seat heater, and opened the windows - hoping to cool off the interior of the car to prevent any smoldering in the seat to advance to a fire (sounds a stupid now, but at the time it seemed to make sense).continue driving with one hand, windows down, and fanning seat with the other.with the windows down, the smoke/burning smell dissipated. By the time i got home (about another 10-15 minute drive from the initial occurrence), the seat had cooled.i observed a burn spot on driver's seat where i felt the "bite" on the back of my leg.i also thought my jeans were burnt; however, that turned out to be transfer from the burnt material from the seat - i was able to scratch most of it off with fingernail.also, my skin was not injured.i will be contacting my local mazda dealership today.
We noticed that suddenly our 2 year old mazda 6, with about 18,000 miles was barely braking.it has been serviced regularly and had a brake inspection at the dealership 2,000 miles and 5 months previously.the front brakes did not seem to be engaging at all, and we noted rust build up on the disc that no amount of braking could remove.an inspection at an independent shop revealed less than 10% remaining life on the rear brakes, and they noted that excessive rust had caused the brakes to rust out.the car is operated in kentucky--not exactly the center of the rust belt.i think defective brake materials are likely causing this unexpected and premature brake failure.while we did not experience an accident as a result, another driver may.i am writing in case other owners have had a similar issue with the 2008 mazda 6.

The contact owns a 2008 mazda 6. The contact stated when coming to a stop after driving at approximately 50 mph, the vehicle would shake. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the front rotors were replaced. The failure mileage was 8,948. The current mileage was 18,243.
The car would make horrible sounds when i was turning left or right and would pull me to the left or right without me being able to control the car.a new steering column was put in by the dealership.the service manager at tom wood mazda (he now works at tom wood ford) said the car was designed to pull me off the highway or road in case i passed out at the wheel.then a new dealership bought the dealership and they replaced my steering column.my steering wheel was never straight, but the car was not out of alignment on a machine.
When i purchase my new mazda 6, it was determined on a computer that the steering wheel was crooked, but the car was not out of alignment.then the car started pulling hard to the right.then the steering wheel started clunking when i was turning either way.after many trips to the service dept, a new steering column was put in.the clunking stopped, but the car would still pull hard to the right, and every time i got new tires or rotated the tires, the steering wheel would be crooked again, but not out of alignment.the clunking started again, and appears to have the same issue, but my car is out of warranty now and the dealership has changed owners 3 times.i feel my car was a lemon and i could not get help because the dealership kept being sold.i feel i am driving an unsafe car.i have never known anyone who had to have a steering column replaced.i am afraid that my car is going to pull me off the road into a tree.it is a 5-speed so 1 hand is off the steering wheel frequently.i need help from mazda to help me cure this problem because i am so frustrated in dealing with the dealerships.i am afraid that i am going to killed in this car because of the steering issue that is unresolved.

In one month i have had to replace 2 tire pressure sensors. When i asked about why these are going out they told me that there have been a lot of issues with the ones on my car, which is why mazda has since changed to a different sensor. The first one was a slow leak and i would have to fill it every few days, which although a huge pain, made it to where i could wait to bring it in when i had time to be car less for a few hours. The most recent one happened two days ago.i got home from one job at11 pm. The tire pressure light came on my drive home and i was thinking i was having problems again with the first one. I woke up at 7am to go to my other job and as i was driving there my car was very jerky so i pulled over at the gas station right by my house to check on my tire and it was completely flat .i went from close to full pressure to 0 in 8hours.this is very dangerous and a huge safety issue! if i had been out farther in the country or on a long car ride or if i hadn't noticed it was not steering correctly, this could have easily caused an accident. If i was pretty much told that the part was faulty at the dealership and it was known to leak then this should be recalledbefore someone gets hurt or worse.
My tire pressure light keeps coming on at random intervals.although i have a warranty on my tires and have taken it in 4 different times, i am told every time that the tire pressure is fine and that there is nothing wrong with my sensor.well, obviously both of those can't be true if my light keeps coming on.it is completely random when the light comes on; when stopped at a light, on the freeway, sometimes as a steady light, sometimes blinking off and on, sometimes when i hit a bump, other times when i've been driving smoothly for miles.this "safety" feature is currently useless.
Yesterday i found a yellow sac spider in my 2008 4 cylinder mazda 6.
I accidentally touched the moonroof controls on my car and this blew a fuse which was also connected to the heat, causing dangerous driving conditions (none of my windows defrosted). They said the moonroof was frozen shut and by me touching the control it overloaded the fuse. When i went to walser mazda in burnsville they told me they had seen 3 of these same incidents in one week. Because i didn't know it was just a fuse at the time i was unable to safely drive the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2008 mazda 6.while driving approximately 68 mph in rainy weather conditions, the windshield wipers failed to activate.the failure caused poor visibilty and occurred without warning.the authorized dealer was notified of the malfunction.due to massive rain conditions, the vehicle has not been taken in for repair.the failure and current mileages were 6,900.
Mazda 6i 2008 has two tire sensors fail, which appear to be defective in nature due to how low the mileage is. The tire sensor for right front passenger tire and a tire sensor for rear right passenger tire have failed and there is not even 36,000 miles on the car. Was told this is not covered under warranty but this is a defective product that could result in an accident if the sensor fails while driving.there are many complaints on line regarding the mazda 6, the tire sensors should be recalled and replaced by mazda.
